The hotel's location is consistently praised, with guests appreciating its proximity to bars, restaurants, and public transportation. However, the small room size and cleanliness issues are recurring complaints.

The location was excellent. The staff was very friendly. The bathroom was nice. The bed was comfortable. The lobby and our room smelled like mold and dust, and was generally rundown. Basically, it was gross Our key cards never worked and we were running down to the front desk often to get them changed.
- 3/5
The hotel is in a good location and easy to get around from, which was a positive. However, I was disappointed with the overall cleanliness. The room was small, the bedsheets did not feel properly clean, and the bathroom also needed more attention. For the price paid, I expected a much better standard. The location is convenient, but the cleanliness and room quality let the hotel down.

Was on the first floor, and the window didn't have a lock.

Location was right in the heart of LES. The surrounding bars were perfect. Everything was walkable. I barely even left the area this time cus I loved the area! Staff was also super friendly! I’ll most likely stay here again if I’m doing another LES type of trip. Perfect for young adults Small lounge area downstairs with water coffee and a microwave if needed. Many many food and coffee places near by like less than a 5 min walk. Rooms kind of small but typical for this part of NYC. Also no mini fridge only ice.

The location is very convenient to visit NYC. A lot of restaurants, bar option in the area. And the staff was really nice. The room was very small, we were a family of 4, I didn't expect the bed to be so small, we couldn't sleep well. The windows are not isolated therefore it was super noisy and cold near the window. Overall the room was old, it looks much nice on pictures.
- 5/5
Highly recommend!. Location, customer service, clean room,/comfortable bed, unlimited coffee and filtered water. The only downsize was the no water pressure in the shower.
- 1/5
Upon arriving at the hotel we were told there would be a third party processing fee. I questioned that and the woman at the front desk very bluntly said "if you don't pay it, you can't check in". It was late in the day and we had to settle so we paid it. This place is not suitable as a hotel. A halfway house room, MAYBE. But not night hotel of a certain amount Zero amenitities. The phone at the front desk didn't work the entire time so I couldn't get through to ask questions about check in and a refrigerator before check in. The towel rack in the bathroom was falling down, the shower head barely attached to the wall. It was a disaster.
- 2.5/5
The staff were helpful and friendly. The maintenance seems to be neglected as there was a constant alarm in the Lobby that had not been repaired. Our room had a broken window that was cracked and let in a lot of noise from the city. The shower nozzle and shower head were loose and coming out of the wall. Also the soap dispenser in the shower was inoperable or empty. The location was perfect in the Lower East Side The poor maintenance for the shower heads, cracked window and constant alarm in the lobby.
- 2.5/5
Good location, nice staff. Room was a bit shabby, Little or no space to hang clothes, scratched paint and unclean windows.
- 5/5
The hotel is in an excellent spot. My room was tiny, but clean and was perfect for the single night stay. This hotel has the typical case of NYC's paper thin walls, but they only have two rooms per floor, so internal noise is limited. Staff was incredibly professional and welcoming.

It’s perfect for the 1 to 3 nights if you’re wanting value in that area of the city If you have a lower level room facing the street, it’s going to be a little noisy, but a good pair of earplugs will fix that

The room was clean. The pillows were good but the beds sagged on the sides when you sat on them and the room is so small it is the only place to sit when you are putting on your shoes, etc. The lobby was dingy. Our outside door lock broke on the 2nd night and we could not get into our room. They said that they had no maintenance. The front desk person and another woman were able to use a blow up pad and tools to open the door. It took about 30 - 45 min. They offered to move us to another room at around 10 pm, but weren't sure if they had one with two double beds. We would have had to pack all of our stuff up and move. They should have given us a discounted room that night. It was not a good night and the street noise on Friday was so loud till very late into the night.

There was a room and the pillows were nice and soft I stayed at the Redford Hotel in NYC and unfortunately had a pretty disappointing experience, mainly due to the room I was given on the ground floor. The biggest issue was safety: the door didn’t have a lock from the inside, which made me feel very uncomfortable staying there. On top of that, the noise level was extreme. Being right next to the lobby meant I could hear everything; conversations, footsteps, even small sounds throughout the night. Plus a constant beeping noise that made it nearly impossible to sleep. There were also several smaller issues that added up: * Light coming through the peephole that couldn’t be blocked * No bedside lamp, so turning off the lights meant being in complete darkness * Very tight bathroom layout (toilet too close to the sink) * WiFi connection was unreliable To make matters worse, I did not receive a full refund despite raising these issues, which I find quite unreasonable given the safety concern and overall experience. Overall, the room didn’t meet basic expectations for comfort or privacy. If you’re staying here, I’d strongly recommend avoiding ground floor rooms. Hopefully management can address these issues, especially the door lock, as that’s a serious concern.

Great location. Friendly staff. Don’t be surprised by the room or bed size- it’s an “affordable” hotel in the LES! Good to be on an upper floor and facing the back of the building as the area can get rambunctious at night- especially on the weekend. As a “former New Yorker” I would recommend especially for its location, proximity to train and many food options. We stayed with two young children and were able to make it work well.

Sink in bathroom kept clogging. We had only 1 roll of toilet paper for the 4 nights we stayed. I had to call the front desk and ask. The room had no space for luggage. I had to store my suite case in the bathroom.

The location They have 2 rooms on the first floor, those are not rooms those are closets, you can hear everything from the front desk like the tiniest little pin drop and those rooms are the only ones with a pin code unlike the normal card swipe that the other rooms had... so I asked to switched and they told me that's what I booked AS PART OF THE BLACK FRIDAY SALE, which was false that would mean everyone is booking the same black Friday deal yet there is only 2 rooms that qualifies under that. the front girl (black girl) help out a lot, unlike the stocky Latin guy whose response was " its an additional charge" to everything we asked... and there is a resort fee for the common area I guess, but there is no gym, no pool, its just water and coffee that is located by the bathroom in the basement and a small patio with some chairs and fake plants.

Room was clean, with no weird smells. Staff was welcoming -- staff best part of hotel. It was SO NOISY! Facilities are paultry -- I expected things to be basic BUT coffee area REALLY needs improvement. It was everything we needed it to be, the beds were comfortable, the room was clean, the neighborhood was safe The room was tiny, but that's probably pretty normal for NYC. But since it's so tiny there's no storage for anything, it would have been helpful to at least have more hooks on the walls in the bathroom and bedroom. Also our room was right next to the elevator, which was loud, and the street noise on the weekend nights was pretty aggressive. Again, probably normal for NYC but next time we would request a room on a higher floor and away from the elevator.
- 5/5
It was typical NYC small room. But it was very clean and had daily made service. It has an Elevator!! Everyone was very very nice and accommodating. They offered free coffee. And the location was close to subway and restaurants.

But this hotel is not worth what is being charged. Very small rooms, bottom of the barrel toiletries, and no soundproofing between rooms, not to mention the gaps under the doors that let sound come right in. Apparently this company runs two additional hotels in the LES, I will avoid those as well.

Clean; desk staffed Room was minuscule. Impossible to use drawes in piece of furniture at foot off bed: literally not enough room to open them..Bed horrible: sloped down so much to one side that I had to fight to keep from sliding off. Shower cannot be turned on without getting soaked. Rack for towels so high that nearly impossible to reach.

Beds were comfortable and the room all clean. Bathroom was OK and functional. All OK for a single nights stay. Quiet area and not too busy but close to some nice bars and restaurants. Really small room, bathroom was limited on shelf and places to put stuff., would stay here for more than one night I expect. No remote in room for TV but wasn't a real issue.

This was hands down the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had. Upon arrival, I was given a room on the main floor with paper-thin walls. I could hear every check-in conversation and every complaint made at the front desk. When I asked to be moved, the night staff claimed the hotel was sold out and offered me earplugs as a solution. The next morning, I spoke with a different front desk agent who assured me they would move me to a room upstairs. I left my bags with them for the day, expecting a resolution. When I returned that evening, I encountered the same staff member from the night before, who informed me that not only was I not moved but I had also been checked out entirely. To make matters worse, they were using my room to store luggage for a large, noisy group that was crowded into the tiny lobby. After some confusion, the staff realized there was an available room upstairs after all, and I was moved. They offered to waive the $15-per-night facility fee (on top of the $400 per night I was paying) as compensation, which felt like a slap in the face. The nightmare didn’t end there. My new room was plagued by loud, repetitive banging all night, which sounded like pipes hitting against each other. Needless to say, I got no sleep. To top it off, I never received an emailed receipt upon checkout, and the hotel’s photos online are heavily edited—the rooms look nothing like the

I would like to start by saying the hotel staff were very nice and the hotel was mostly clean. The pictures of the hotel show rooms that are much larger and in better condition than the room we had. We were in room 102. There were so many things wrong with the room that I can’t include them all in this review. The peep hole in the door was broken and had tissue shoved in it. The noise from the front desk and the elevator made sleep difficult. There was no space for luggage. There was no place to hang close. The faucet in the bathroom was loose. There was no toilet lid, so when you flush the room gets sprinkled… ew. The sink has no counter space so any thing you try to place one the sink may fall into the toilet. Shower curtain instead of a door. The latch on the window to the courtyard was broken this seem unsafe on the ground floor. The tv cords looked like a blind person installed them. One outlet cover was broken and another was covered in tape… oh I tried to iron a shirt and the iron was covered in some black goo. I was irony a white shirt to go to a broadway show. The front desk had to replace the iron. The ironing board is a table top ironing board but there is no table so I had to use the bed. There is no space for two people in the room. When one person was walking the other had to be on the bed. The bed is crammed in the corner. If you are the person closest to the wall you have to craw over the other person to go to the bathroom.

It was my first trip to NYC and this hotel did not disappoint. It was small but clean and the four of us were able to share the space comfortably. The hotel has great cafes around it and is very close to the subway station. The view from the terrace at the top of the hotel has amazing views of the city. The staff was very welcoming and helpful! I would highly recommend this hotel!

I chose this hotel because it was in a perfect location to where I wanted to be at. Nice staff. The floor we were on had only two rooms which felt safe and comfortable. I had 0 noise issues. Slept great at night. Only thing I noticed, there water damage on doors. Some furniture had missing knobs on the drawers and picture frames glass was broken. Room was definitely small but was not an issue for my friend and I. We only were in the room to sleep and freshen up for our time there.

This is a great find for someone looking for a modest and comfortable place to sleep. Rooms are small but clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. The area around this place is quite lively, lots of bars and nightclubs. Bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Overall would recommend for someone on a budget.

I was very happy with my stay at The Redford Hotel. It's a cute, stylish boutique hotel with great customer service. The room was super small (not too surprising for NYC hotels, though) but clean. As an interior designer, I give it two👍!

Stayed very quickly. The room was a bit dingy, but did the job. For the price and location, though.... What do you expect? Not the Ritz, but worked.

We had no shampoo in the room, there was an ironing board but no iron. Room was quiet, beds were comfortable and shower was great! They have complimentary coffee and some snacks in the basement level. Very close to a subway station and is next to Bel Fries, which is worth stopping at for a late night snack or lunch! Be ready for a wait :) Overall, I would book here again!

Overall the room was clean and furniture was in good shape, but the lack of space made it impossible to get comfortable. Only one person could walk around at a time due to the lack of space between the beds and wall. There was no closet, no counter space, lack of outlets, no place to store suitcase, and the floors were not clean. Hairs on the bathroom floor. The air conditioning was a wall unit. Hard to ever get the temperature right and always felt damp. Strangely there were only sheets on the bed. We had to request a comforter/top blanket. There also was no hair dryer, had to request that as well. Just lots missing and no space, but I loved the location.

This was a good place to stay for convenience, and in a nice enough area although it was a little noisy. It was clean and private and the staff were nice. It did say bottled water and in room coffee on the booking but neither of those were provided.

Honestly for what we needed it served it’s purpose. Small but functional bathroom and bedroom. Biggest problem was single pane windows. It sounds like the window was wide open all night. It’s a vibrant community, with heavy Summer season construction. Being so close to excellent restaurants and bars is a draw for us. We were prepared for a bit of noise. We live in downtown Toronto and are used to a similar neighbourhood experience. That being said we woke up every morning at 630am to noisy construction, and you could hear conversations at street level from 5 floors up. Nice Reno to the interior. Replacing the windows would go miles for improving experience.

Smallest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in but that’s to expected in New York. Staff was friendly and helpful and great location for food!
- 5/5
Very conveniently located close to Delancey/Essex St Subway station (handy for travel from JFK) and roughly midway between the Empire State Building and the Battery, making most sites of the city within walkable distance for those who like to explore on foot. The hotel staff were very friendly and the condition of the building fine, if the corridors were a little spartan and the metal bathroom shelf a little institutional. There is even a pleasant roof terrace though the view from it was hardly spectacular. In any case, this is not a hotel in which to linger because it is surrounded with life. The bed was very comfortable indeed and the selection of tv channels better than in many hotels, though the thin curtain/blind did not block as much light as might be desired and the room featured neither a hairdryer nor any tea/coffee making facilities. The neighbourhood is lively at night, but this did not disturb me in the room. All in all, I felt this was a good value hotel by NYC standards and would certainly consider staying again if on my own, though if treating a partner I might seek a few more frills.

Cinthya at the front desk was amazing. The room was great for two days. Could use some light maintenance, and more counter space in the bathroom, but otherwise a great hotel and location. Only big drawback for us was the *smell* (you know which one I’m talking about), but we looked past it. Would absolutely return and recommend.

Location is great, close to transportation, food and area is enjoyable. The staff is great.

love the service. 5 star for all the stuff
- 2/5
Some basic room maintenance needed to happen such as covering exposed outlets, plugging in lights, having towels for two people in the room instead of towels for one, and making sure the tv worked which it did not at first. Front desk staff was courteous and tried to be helpful. Bed very comfortable. Being charged an extra $15 a night for a “facility fee” did not seem to match their star rating of the hotel so that was a bit of a surprise as well.
- 5/5
This property was perfect for my short trip to New York. Very clean and all the staff were wonderful. Small room with no microwave or refridgeator; this was not a deal breaker for me. You leave the front door of the hotel and everything such as coffee, pizza, all types of restuarants, bars, candy store, and shopping all right there!
- 5/5
This was my first stay at the Redford Hotel, but we will absolutely be back. The rooms are clean and housekeeping came in to make sure it remained clean throughout the trip. The staff was very friendly. And the location for us was top notch; so many great eating and drinking options within walking distance. We will absolutely return.
- 3/5
The location is ideal as there is a subway station one block away (Line F-Essex-Delancey). The room was not cleaned up daily once for elevator crew could not get to the room. The rooms are as described. It's a no frills hotel. The front desk staff were all very friendly and accommodating. I believe they could use some work with general housekeeping and towels daily.
- 4/5
Comfortable. Would recommend.
- 4/5
Room was very small, even by NYC standards. Elements were sort of falling apart (no closet, so they use hooks to hang coats in the room, looks like some had torn out; in the bathroom the paint was peeling off in many places; some electrical outlets were missing covers). But the main challenge was that the walls are paper thin, so you hear your neighbors and you VERY much hear the street noise, wihch goes until about 3:30-4am, and then quiets down until about 8am.
- 4/5
Great safe location, small room, needed a chair but otherwise nice accommodations

We arrived late to find that Expedia and the Redford had cancelled our reservation at noon. They said the card wouldn't run, but it ran just fine when we arrived. We'd been traveling from Europe, so didn't see email and didn't get a call. Were given very loud and tiny first floor room. Bummer! Moved up to nice 9th floor room the next day and staff was great after first night. Big Expedia problem.

Staff and location are excellent. The room is was kinda scuzzy.
- 3/5
As soon as I got to the room there was a dirty towel, wrapped in a dirty mat with plastic on the floor. Toilet was used. I went to call reception - the room phone didn’t work. I called from my cell, no one answered. I go back to reception, no one answered because the girl was still on the phone to her friend. She ‘upgrades’ to a better room. It looked like the same room. I sent a note to the manager, the response was ‘sorry and thank you for the feedback’ each time I was in and out of the hotel, the same girl was still on personal calls. I’m not sure how you can run a business where feedback on the smallest easiest of wins isn’t actioned. Wifi was weak the whole trip (3 nights) For a $200 a night hotel this was completely unacceptable.
- 4/5
The place was definitely run down--drywall anchors coming out the wall, broken door frame, etc, but the sheets were soft, it wasn't too noisy even though I was street side, and the front desk was friendly. I'd call it a solid 6/10.
- 5/5
Awesome location!
- 1/5
check-in process was very late and the staff couldn't have cared less. water from the shower ran directly into the bedroom and when I told the front desk she said "yeah people have said that". really poor customer service and small rooms. good location but honestly wouldn't stay here again.
- 1/5
I travel extensively, this was by far the worst experience and customer service I ever received.
