Orchard Street Hotel

I stayed at Pod 31 for the second half of my trip and had a far better experience for a comparable budget hotel.

24/7 tea, coffee and water Small room, AC was not at its best

If you need a bed and a private bathroom this is fine. Other than that there’s not much to say. The good: The bed was comfortable and if your room is on a higher level the view is amazing. The bad: every night I felt very unsafe walking into the hotel. On the property of the hotel there is a courtyard in front of the entrance you have to walk through to get to the lobby. Every night there was a group of about 15 agressive men shouting at me, blowing weed smoke purposely in my face and putting very loud speakers in my face. The hotel should really do something, all three nights I was there so were they. The room is small and bare bones but it does the job.

Top floor had tremendous views. Clean as a whistle room. Quite save a bitta City energy from the bar/street beow. Close to food and subway. Justin was friendly and kind. Nothing. All went well.

Horrible experience. We were given a room without working AC during a heat wave, even though we paid for a room that advertised AC. The receptionist Victoria was one of the worst customer service staff I have ever dealt with. She knew the whole 10th floor had no AC and didn’t inform us and when we came back down (since our phone didn’t work) she claimed they were sold out and there was nothing she wanted to do. She didn’t even offer fans and our room was 91 degrees. Zero compassion or respect for guests and no help whatsoever. Nick was the only staff that provided any help for us during our stay. We had to fight to receive fans and once we finally begged and got moved to a different room (smaller and cheaper than what we paid for) The Ac still wasn’t working very well. The rooms are bare bones and asking for anything even towels is a task. Every issue was met with incompetence and dismissive attitude. The patio was always packed with people who weren’t guests and smoking until all hours of the night which made us feel very unsafe and the deadbolt on our door was removed. You could see the holes but no lock besides the one you can unlock with a keycard. Even when we moved rooms they took other guests stuff and left it in our room and took 45 mins and multiple trips to the front desk to get them to remove it. Plus even when the phone didn’t work, nobody would answer. Not impressed, would not recommend

This is a humble, simple and okay hotel. It's okay and a place to sleep but nothing fancy at all.

I lived in NYC for over a decade but now live in LA and I always stay in this part of town. The location of the hotel is perfect. F train right around the corner which gets you easily all over the city with ease. Too many great spots to eat, drink, shop, nails etc is right outside the property. The rooms are TINY but it’s ideal for a shorter stay and if you are traveling solo. Two people in these rooms would be a stretch. But the location is so amazing you will only need to sleep and shower and you are out the door. They have a space on the second floor which bid great to work or take a call but I wish they would have gone the extra mile and actually invested more resources to decorate/design the space. Second floor space and back coffee area feel Like an after thought. Great spaces but looks like they ran out of money and left it as is.

The room was 92° when I checked in AC was broken. I asked staff to help me with another room or try to accommodate and they said sorry they couldn’t help they were stains on the floor. They did give me a fan, but it had a bunch of hair stuck in it true story do not stay there

Excellent location. Queen double bed comfortable. Small room but if you're only sleeping there not a problem. Nice shower though shower curtain barely covered stall at bottom. Free coffee a nice touch. TV worked with lots of choices. A/C worked fine. Desk staff very helpful. Perfect for our 4-day senior couple stay.

Room was insanely small. Looked nothing like the photos. My double bed was a futon. It took 15 minutes of running the water before it got hot for the sink and shower. The faucet was busted. Wry loud due to the bars across the street

Floors were sticky. You can hear constant doors slamming from other guests. Fire alarms sometimes go off because of steam from the shower. Water pressure is low and temperature takes like 15-20 minutes to warm up. Beds are comfortable though.

This is a great value hotel, in a wonderful location in the lower east side. The room and amenities were all clean and the bed was really comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Even though you’re in a loud part of town I found you couldn’t hear much from outside. The rooftop is a bonus too. I would definitely stay here again next time I come back.

Great location, close to the subway station, near Chinatown and Little Italy. Helpful staff. The room feels a bit cramped, which is unusual for Europeans

Location Not much room, awkward TV height/angle, poor water pressure in shower, floor wasn’t cleaned properly, strong signs of wear and tear in room, no desk or counter space in the bedroom, hardly any soundproofing made for an unbearably loud night.

The Fedex office nearby was a life saver for my work! There’s no space to eat except for the lounge area in front of the lobby. The rooftop was too cold at the time.

The room was very very small for the price but very clean. Luckily we only had 2 back packs. Not sure where we would have put suitcases. Location is great! Staff very friendly and we were able to leave bags for free before check in and after check out. Rooftop has nice view of Empire State Building.

We stayed at the Orchard Street Hotel in July of 2025 and were very pleased with our room. In April of 2026, the room seemed to have some sort of water damage. The window treatments were dirty and looked like they were damaged. The window in the bathroom was also open when we arrived. The stay was adequate, but just not what we expected after our first experience.

This hotel is one of my favorite to stay in the area. I do wish they had full body mirror and little better positioning of the bed lol but over all I am satisfied♥️

I have booked here multiple times for various spans of days and found that the staff here are amazing. Rooms are always clean, never had issues with their AC. Overall a good stay! Highly recommend.

Location, safety and comfort. I was able to walk to the office and other points of interest. Room is super tiny. As well as the bathroom. Not enough shelf space in the bathroom and ended up putting my bathroom supplies in the cloths closet (which was very tiny)

Great to wake up over the sunrise to wake you up. The bathrooms are really nice and are great to get situated. I enjoyed the stay for 1 night for a quick layover. Definitely in the heart of LES and Chinatown. Has subways within walking distance. Great for solo and couple travelers.

The location is just perfect with many interesting things a walk away. The views from the rooftop (and my room) were fantastic! Really enjoyed the shower with the view! Everything in the room (except for the views) was a little off (loose toilet paper holder, tap spraying all over, slightly dirty…). The queen room size was fine for one but would’ve been quite tight for 2. The doors are thin but they slam very hard. Only one elevator.

In Manhattan you want a clean safe place to sleep and recharge. This is that and more. Walking out for a quick bite, more than 5 Michelin Bib Gormand Restaurants in walking distance. Bus and subway to get anywhere within a block and a half. Five star staff available 24/7. Just outstanding

This hotel is such a vibe! Cute little boutique hotel with amazing decor and street art in the heart of Orchard Street. Tons of stuff to do just steps away, from bars to dining to cute retro shops. The staff is amazing. Wonderful views and you’re really close to ChinaTown and the piers. Only downfalls is the whole area is quite lively at night so it can be quite noisy at night, and the mattress is VERY firm and super low to the ground. I happily give it a 9/10 though!

the blinds were extremely dirty and had stains all over them.. there was black fingerprints all on the wall above the bedroom and on the back board.. there was also a window right next to the shower that didn’t have any blinds which made me extremely uncomfortable to shower & the lighting was terrible. first time staying here and sadly i won’t be back.

Location and price make up for the noise it gets in the room. Well located between great restaurants, stores, and bars. The bed was not very comfortable. The room is not very insulated and gets a lot of street noise. Also, the doors slam shut in the hall, so bring earplugs to sleep well.

The property felt homey , it felt welcoming with the staff being very supportive, nice and welcoming. The widows are big showing a beautiful view of the city! Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Well we went through reservations time so some areas wear under construction, but I can’t but much on the hotel it was clean bed was comfortable and staff (reception) was friendly.

Clean, convenient and exactly what we were hoping for. The roof deck provided a beautiful view and a great place to sip our coffee in the morning. Only reason for 4/5 stars was the weak water pressure & temperature in the building. Otherwise a wonderful week spent here.

Beautiful & cozy room on the 11th floor. We had a corner room with views of East River & Empire State Bldg (facing North) Close to all amenities, bars, restaurants and subways. Alway love staying in the LES. Loony was charming, a total Lower Eastside vibe. Staff was friendly & welcoming.

The location is unbeatable, there are so many great food spots and shops within walking distance. The area was really lively and packed with people on the weekend, if you’re into nightlife this is the spot for you. Definitely a younger crowd. I felt really safe walking in the area both in the day and at night. We were on the 5th floor and were able to hear noise from the streets (mostly cars honking at eachother) and the rooms are pretty tiny, but this is NYC so you can’t really complain about that too much. Bathroom inside the room was a plus. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Everything was great. The only small downside was both nights I was there. There was a bunch of people that weren’t guest hanging out by the front door at night drinking, smoking weed, and taking up all the patio seats.

Spent the night to go clubbing for our birthday in lower east. Hosted a pregame/pizza party for 15 people on the terrace. View was amazing and location is perfect. Room was small but we were only there to pass out. Staying here everytime I visit now.

The place overall location wise is great. The room is tiny with barely any space to move around. The bed was uncomfortable and the shower went from cold to nuclear hot. Also the sound on the floor was terrible. Every door close sounded like a slam reversing through the hallways. On my first night all I heard was a maintenance person clanging around fixing something in the hallway till after midnight. I’ve stayed in the area many times before in neighboring hotels and I have to say I wouldn’t come back.

I loved everything about this hotel besides not having a mini fridge or an ice machine. Next time I am bringing my cooler backpack and going down the road to get a block of ice. Besides that the rooms were very comfortable and modern with beautiful rooftop lounging to have a nice cup of coffee with a view in the morning. Definitely recommend.

This hotel is perfect for exploring NYC for a true New Yorker experience. Staff were amazing and the hotel room we booked was amazing ! Had a perfect city sky line very for great sunsets and amazing night life views. Parking isn’t ideal ( but that’s an nyc problem ) we will be booking again for our next NYC trip in a few months again !

Simple and straightforward, perfect for a solo traveler! Orchard Street Hotel was exactly what I needed for my solo trip to NYC. The amenities were simple, the bed was comfy, and the AC was strong! The customer service was great too! Also, great views from the rooftop.

Staff at Orchard St are so friendly and accommodating! No fridges in any of the rooms, so they helped keep my birthday cake chill until the party :) Definitely recommend for a quick stay and a 10/10 bathroom.

It was located in the lower side. It was a good price excellent views I have no complaints. It’s probably pretty basic but I don’t need a fancy hotel because my whole goal is to hang around in the city and it’s definitely way better than a lot of hotels, I’ve been to in New York.

The front desk staff was incredible. The room is very bare and quite dingy. The curtains were stained, stains and marks on the walls too. Seemed clean and the bed was comfy with a lot of pillows. It’s extremely noisy on the third floor from street noise. I didn’t mind, but I used to live in NYC so I was used to it.

The AC in the room didn't work. The phone and lamp by bed weren't plugged in. There was a staff member who was very new, not his fault, but seemed to be only one there and he tried to fix their AC system by resetting it but it didn't work--and it was super hot. We had to open all windows for a breeze, but the area is incredibly noisy on a weekend. I asked the one staff where a nearby bodega or cornerstore was and he said he didn't know the area. Oh and they have no ive machine in the entire hotel. Would never stay there again, unless it were maybe $50 and just for one night.

I had a nice one night stay. Room was clean, quiet & comfy. Had issue with no hot water, was offered another room, again no hot water, so Mohammed at the front desk ended up living me a premium top floor room with a small terrace! So cool! Definitely made up for the inconvenience! Really appreciated his willingness to help.

The air conditioners in this property is terrible. I was assigned a room with broken AC, then I was moved to another one, still broken AC. If you are heat tolerant, feel free to book here.

Great location near where I wanted to be. Friendly check in personnel. Pretty small room but adequate for a night of sleep. Appreciated the free water. Only real complaint was no hand soap.

The location of this hotel is amazing. Right in the heart of the city and it is very easy to get around to other parts of NY. The water at the hotel was cold. That ruined it for us because usually you can not wait to get back to the hotel to shower. Even after letting it run for 15-20 minutes the water remained the same temperature. You can also hear everything from outside the room to even the inside of people’s rooms while I was in my own. The staff was super sweet and very helpful and attentive.

The key cards didn't work, the staff had to individually walk me to my room which was strange but they were quite nice. Not very professional, but they had a great and kind vibe.

And was only there for 6 hours

The room was incredibly busy due to the hvac above the ceiling rattling the entire room. The bathroom door was rotted on the bottom 2” from what appears to be floods and other damage. The bedding was clean and the views are great.

Samanta was awesome. She knew who I was when I walked and greeted me by name. The rooms were cute and full of windows overlooking the city. The rooftop was amazing. Will definitely be back!

For the cost in NY, its okay to stay. Just be aware that to get hot water running in the shower you must flush the toilet first.

Great location, staff fixed my broken tv fast, coffee could be better but enjoyed my stay!

Staff was exceptional and very friendly, unfortunately the room was microscopic small and it’s not meant for two people, no convenience to move around in the room and there’s no closet or safe lock to put passport in.

This is the most extraordinary value hotel in the most extraordinary part of Manhattan - the Lower East Side. Surrounded by cool galleries, boutiques, Chinatown, amazing restaurants and quiet coffee shops, this location couldn't be better. BUT, what really makes this place shine is the view. While the rooms are simple, I was on the top floor (11th - ask for it) and I had massive, expansive views of the city skyline on two sides of my room. So thankful to have found this little gem.

At first the put me in a room that hadn’t been cleaned but then upgraded me because of the error. Very very happy with the service and would certainly stay again.

The property was up to date boutique style hotel ,however there were things missing (No irons on the premises) or not working No heat in 1st room then once moved ,the other rooms tv didn’t work that wasn’t fixed until the next day. Gave a guest with us an upgrade however gave them an upgrade better than what I paid for so that seemed a little out of host etiquette! And for no other reason than just to do it I guess! But you never give someone within a group a free and better upgrade than what someone in that group paid for!

Blackout shades are great! Rates are very good for NYC!

Remember when you come to nyc, the attraction is the city itself, the hotel is to spend the night safely and get ready for the next day and for that purpose the Orchard Street Hotel is perfect.

Amazing location on the Lower East Side. Close to tons of activity. The room has little to no amenities and the bed was pretty. Fire alarm kept going off because of shower steam. Other than that it was cool place with rooftop access.

Property is well located but rooms are tiny, bathrooms a bit dirty and no real hot water to shower with…. Would probably not stay there again unless I could find nothing better elsewhere.

Bare bones. If you are looking for a hotel that is unimpressive yet affordable in a great location, this is it. It was the cheapest I could find for this time of year, but the staff doesn’t even acknowledge you when you enter, let alone help with bags or the door. The room was pretty crummy and unappealing, but served us with a warm place to stay on a cold night.

WiFi was unusable, re-connected many times with repeated drops and no bandwidth. No night table, one power outlet. Poor value for the price.

Absolutely loved staying here. The view from my room was incredible and it was well kept. Also the perfect location, can easily walk to SOHO, get transit, etc. Will definitely come back here.
