The AC was terrible, the rest was fine but it seems they have a temp control that wont go lower than 68 but the actual temp was 74. Bad A/C, the rest of the stay was great.

The free morning coffee was a wonderful perk!
- 4/5
Perfect location but the room I selected was quite small and perhaps not for couple. Thanks for drinks and candies.
- 5/5
Convenient location right in the middle of the city, easy access to Penn Station and MTA just a couple blocks away. Room and bed were very comfortable, but bathroom door could use a little adjustment or a bit of trim to give anyone inside a bit more privacy. Would stay here again tho, no question!

The property is quirky and has a good vibe, especially in the public areas, bars etc. We were given a $20 per day allowance to be used in the bars/at breakfast. There was a sweetie cart in the foyer which had drinks/water and there is also coffee to go too. The beds were so comfortable and pillows too. The only issue I had and this is quite major - I left on 27th May and asked to make sure that my bill was complete and confirmed that there was nothing else to pay. Then almost a week later I was randomly charged over $100 as a manual charge - I've raised this but still waiting to hear back as this is completely

We had no AC all 3 days of our stay. We were given 2/3 nights free. One staff member was rude to us when we mentioned the no AC and said we didn’t know how to use the thermostat (not mentioning his name because the manager Nelly said that he would speak to them). Another manager named Zoe said that we should have brought up that we wanted to stay at another hotel instead when I asked for the 3rd night to also be free since the AC problem persisted. She mentioned this after the stay so I didn’t know it was an option and was under the assumption I would have to pay for two hotels. Also if the first person had took the concern seriously, we would have been able to switch rooms that first day but by the time they listened, all the rooms were full. Not saying it’s the hotel’s fault but I felt like they weren’t the most accommodating or polite to us and treated us like kids (we were 3 girls in our early 20s). I reached out to the hotel with all this information via email and have not heard back. It was 90 degrees and super humid so I’m not too happy with the stay for obvious reasons. I’m not a karen and never write reviews and also I always stay at Marriott brands so I’m super disappointed. If i’m paying for a 4-star hotel i expect a functioning HVAC and if that can’t be fulfilled, then I deserve a refund. I’ve had the same exact issue once at a different hotel a long time ago and was given a full refund and treated way better by the staff.

The bed was extremely comfy, the mirror that was really it. Had a tv also which was good, location is amazing very close by. Offered shampoo body wash 2 in one and conditioner The reception was very smelly, constant lurge of smell in the reception. The rooms were extremely tiny. Me and my friends came here with suitcases and could barely move around the room. They’re wasn’t many appliances such as a kettle for coffee ect , when asked we did receive this though which was a positive. Do not think it’s worth the money, I asked prior for an nyc view and they said with pleasure our view was a brick wall. Limescale on shower and tiles around. The toliet was very unprivate and a very see through door.

The location was great. The look of the hotel was trendy, modern and clean. Lovely warm and friendly welcome. Our room was cleaned to a high standard daily. I requested a quiet room. The room allocation was good because we weren't adjoining to other rooms so it was quiet in that respect. However, the noise from the rooftop bar was loud every evening. I'm not sure this could have been avoided to be fair and it didn't keep us awake as we were exhausted from exploring the city each day. We were well aware of the rooftop bar when we booked our stay.
- 4/5
Location Updated rooms Location Easy checkin process The elevators are very slow and inability to add a floor once you entered is unfortunate. Couldn't use my free drink one day due to a private event. Room is very small but configured well, modern and functional. I left my number to be contacted once my room was ready....pls pls just text me. Calling....and no way to return the call was weird. Also, not enough lighting over the sink...not even close. Room wasn't cold enough w AC on max. Overall, very good value. I'd stay again.

It was a small but very manageable room. I felt safe, and comfortable. AC kept the room cool even in warmer weather. I liked that the room came with a $20 voucher to spend on food or drink in the second floor bar/cafe. The lifts are rather confusing! The AC is on a stop-start timer which interupted sleep a little bit. No fridge in the room which would have been a welcome addition.
- 2.5/5
Staff was great and very friendly The water when taking a shower was freezing ... felt like I was taking a cold plunge. Our initial room that I booked smelt like it was doused in bleach to the point where we had to move rooms it was so bad.

Room was clean, no complaints on cleanliness. Water pressure was very poor and personally not a fan of the layout of the sink being in the main room. Also had no chair in our room for the desk. Can’t really comment on amenities as were not really used all that much. The rooftop bar was pretty cool but the evening we visited it wasn’t to our vibe so we didn’t revisit. For first timers in New York it is a great location, under 10 mins walk to Times Square and Penn Station which provides good subway access all over the city and has good food options too.
- 5/5
This was by far the nicest, cleanest, kindest staffed hotel we have ever stayed in while visiting NYC. The staff was incredibly kind and the room was so unique while still being clean, modern and chic. The parking garage is literally next door and offers a discount for hotel guests. The bar was chic and a great hangout and the location was perfect for getting to Times Square to Rockefeller center to Bryant Park. Hands down the best hotel in every way. We will never stay any place else!
- 5/5
The staff was very helpful and nice!
- 4/5
Coffee bar / lounge was lovely, although be warned the roof top bar is very much a club type bar- wasn’t really a place for a post-explore drink as we were hoping.

- 4.5/5
Location, modern, clean, nice daily addition of sweet treats & pop in the lobby, amazing Empire State views from rooftop bar! Nothing
- 3/5
Great location. Very disappointing - misleading advertising. I specifically chose this hotel because of the widely advertised roof terrace however was not allowed to access this with my teenager even during the day due to a minimum 21 year age limit. Having travelled from New Zealand this was incredibly disappointing. The hotel has a very young, clubby vibe and was comfortable but would not suit some traveler groups and the age restriction should be added to the facilitates info to avoid others experiencing the same issue.

The Moxy was convenient to all the places we needed to be . Mostly it was two people at the front desk when we arrived who made our stay as comfortable as possible when we arrived to check in . Having different bar and lounge choices was also enjoyable. The rooms tend to be very small .

Location is excellent, especially if you intend on taking the subway to get around. Close to stations that get you everywhere you need to go. The vibe is unique. I would call it cool and hip. It definitely felt like a hotel for young travelers. As an older person, I enjoyed all of it anyways. There are some features that weren’t comfortable for an older traveler who is fussy about sleeping conditions. The mattress is like sleeping on a futon mattress, and by day three my back was not happy. The heating/cooling comes from behind the bed, so when the AC was on it seemed to be blowing cold air right onto my head. I just couldn’t get the room temp quite right. It was either too hot or too cold, so we just turned the fan off and hoped for the best. The parking recommended by the hotel is a few blocks down the street (50$ish/night), the one right next door is 90$ish per night. For best results, give a tip before requesting your car for a trip. Destination fee is 30$/night and was disclosed on Expedia in the receipt. It gets you 20$ credit/day at the bar and you have to charge drinks to your room to redeem it. You also get tickets to the city museum and something else that we didn’t use. Overall recommend unless you really need a comfy bed. Room is tiny but efficient. Pretty much the width of the bed. Not surprising in NYC. Recommend Bread Factory for breakfast, great place across street for a breakfast sandwich or lox & bagels, opens at 7.

Everything about our stay was perfect- the staff are friendly, courteous, and a great extension of the Moxy itself. The Magic Hour served fantastic drinks in a lively environment that has something for everyone- the DJ played great music, the baretenders were on point, the Knicks were hooping, and there was even a quiet lounge area perfect for conversing. Huge shoutout to Imani for her kindness, conversation, and attention she really made our stay special. We will definitely be coming back!!

Great location, makes all travel easy cause very close to train stations. Staff very welcoming and as we had some problems with our room lock so no access to the room, it has been fixed in literally 5 min. The room is nice but there’s no closet or wardrobe. As no space to store your clothes, for 6 days our luggage was open on the floor making the room floor little tiny.

Moxy is always a good go to.
- 5/5
The room was perfectly sized for two people. Surprisingly, for such a lively area, the room was quiet at night.. we could hear a few sirens at times but nothing that kept us awake. Lounge area on the 2nd floor was really nice to relax in before heading out for a long day. There was a woman singing and playing her electric guitar in the lobby when we were checking in. Although she had a great voice, it was SUPER loud and overwhelming when trying to check in. We could barely hear what the front desk staff was saying.

We really loved this property. It was in a great location and we always felt safe both inside and outside of the property. The bar in the second floor was a great space to sit and plan our day. They have a DJ playing music almost every night after 5. The roof top bar was a little disappointing. It was smaller than we expected and you had to go outside and around the corner to get there. There were a lot of doormen you had to go through so it almost felt like a chore to go. We did get there way before check in and they let us door our bags while we waited. There's an ice machine and water filling station in the gym which saved a ton of money. The rooms were really nice. Everything you needed without any extras. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was nice. The only thing we didn't like was the air conditioning. It said it was set to 65 and wouldn't go any lower. It felt more like 75 or 80 in our room most of the time. Even though it was set to cool it felt like it was just blowing outside air most of the time. This made it very hard to sleep because it was so hot. We are from Florida so our air conditioning is very aggressive so for us this wasn't great. If you like things on the warm side, you should be fine.

The location was good and the shower was quite good. The member of staff that checked us in was rude and dismissive. The facilities were poor for 4 star. No coffee facilities. We had no duvet cover. The pillows were low quality. The room was not cleaned until very late in the day when were back from being out all day. The cleaner broke my electric toothbrush by knocking it off the charger. i was charged for water without being made away they weren’t complimentary. Wouldn’t stay again.

The hotel was exceptionally clean, the beds were so comfortable, and the staff was so friendly. The battery on our keyless entry died so we got locked out, and we were back in our room within minutes! Very organized check in, included were drinks and candy! I was very impressed.

Location is central. Gym is spacious and well-equipped (albeit in the basement). The Cafe D'Avignon (to which you get a $20 credit/daily) is very good. Room is pretty well-designed and spacious. (Beware -- at least in our room, the king bed is push against the wall so the person on the inside has to climb over the other person to get to the bathroom. Definitely not ideal.) Staff was friendly. Bar area is nicely designed and comfortable (though WAY too noisy with loud music so you can't really hear the people you're there with). The room was the noisiest I've ever stayed in in my life both nights (and I've traveled a lot). I slept with my airpods in both nights and could still hear everything. The bed configuration in the room is also not great. Being in the middle of Times Square was quite crowded and traffic filled.

You could use the destination fee to pick up breakfast at the cafe below. I did that everyday. I liked that I could use my money on me. I also picked up free coffee in the resto area every morning between 7 -10 a.m.. The elevators are hard to manage. It's a huge property with lots of guests - so it is understandable. Also my room was small. I also didn't like that the sink was outside of the shower and toilet space. The destination fee was $35. Instead of making the free breakfast pick up $20 - make it the full $35. Travelling in NYC is expensive on the american dollar. Every dollar counts.

Good location for seeing shows and subway access. Loud! When the air unit was on it sounded like we were in a high pitched boiler room, and it sits right behind the headboard so way worse when sleeping. Could hear music from rooftop bar seven floors down. The minimalist room design leaves nowhere to sit or eat other than the bed, nowhere to put clothes or toiletries. The bathroom doors were broken barn style that didn’t close all the way, and with the rooms bing postage stamp size- really leaves no privacy if you are sharing. The front desk staff generally seem inexperienced and/ or unhappy.

Hotel offers all you would expect from a large chain hotel in Manhattan. Bar and restaurant offerings were good. Nice areas to sit and relax after walking all day. Rooms were very small but modern and comfortable. I was deeply disappointed to have been wrongly charged by the bar for drinks we did not have. After several emails back and forth when they promised to look into it. They simply stopped replying. Soured the whole experience. Watch out the same thing doesn’t happen to you. A large chain like this should do better for their customers. It’s put me off staying in Marriott on Moxy hotels to be honest. There’s too many more honest chains out there to use.

The hotel had a lively, youthful vibe right from the entrance. We were welcomed with complimentary canned palomas and given a $20/day voucher for drinks or coffee and pastries at the bar (note: the voucher does NOT apply on checkout day). We also received tickets to choose between a Statue of Liberty boat tour or a museum visit, which helped us save money on plans we already had. The hotel also had an excellent location, with great views at Magic Hour and plenty of late-night food options around. It is true that rooms are small, but it wasn't an issue since we spent most of our time exploring. When we needed to work, the common areas were comfortable and spacious. One thing to keep in mind: if you're on a higher floor, you will hear noise from the Magic Hour, especially on weekends when it stays open until 4 a.m.

This was a great place to base your stay in NYC. Very convenient to many things. The only hiccup we had was one day our room was not cleaned and serviced. We just shed for towels and we made it fine. They were very complimentary on check-in and checkout. They let us check in early and at checkout we left our bags with valet until we left for our flight. Very accommodating!! We loved our stay!!!

Loved our stay overall, staff member Imani was so attentive and helpful, it was much appreciated. Our only critique was the room being a little too warm for our comfort. They sent a technician to work on it and it got better for a bit but then would revert back. Other than that, location was great, the rooftop bars were great, and staff was great.
- 5/5
Just be aware that when you book this, it doesn't include city taxes. We stayed for 6 nights, and had to place a 500 dollar deposit and they give you 300 back after your stay. It wasn't an issue for us but if you're on a strict budget or don't have a credit card, I imagine this would cause issues for some.
- 4/5
Good location and hotel for the $. Loud at night on the weekends until rooftop bar closes.
- 5/5
Great location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The area felt safe. I would go back again.
- 5/5
Hotel was great, location, general atmosphere was excellent. Every request we made was dealt with promptly. The room could do with a little updating, some tiny maintenance would be good, just some slight rusting on some bathroom features etc. Overall would stay again, it’s great !

- 5/5
We had a great stay, great location, clean and helpful staff
- 4/5
The lifts however are a nightmare!! Terrible system. The hotel is very ‘vibey’and young. Nothing wrong with this if that’s what you’re after. Didn’t cause us any issues but probably not what we would book next time. The coffee shop next door and the credit allowance were a really nice touch to the visit
- 5/5
Everything was really clean and the staff were welcoming!
- 5/5
Great staff, location and rooftop!
- 5/5
We are 2a 1t 1c, we stayed in the quad bunk bed room for 6 nights in February. The location of the hotel was great. The room, as expected, was very small, but functional for our requirements. The grab and go breakfast was better than expected. Pots of cereal, cereal bars, cakes, fruit, yogurt, and juice. Was definitely sufficient to start your day off. Complementary drinks in the lobby were often available in the afternoon. Non-branded cola, lemonade and ginger beer. Often accompanied by a little sweet cart. $20 a day per room to spend in the pop up coffee shop on the 2nd floor came in handy, charged against your room, but discounted accordingly. We did struggle to spend it though. Internet was fine. Hotel had a really relaxed vibe. Would probably return
- 3/5
The staff missed cleaning the room three nights straight. When we told the front desk, she asked “did you tell us”? When daily cleaning was mentioned as one of the services included, it is disappointing and sounds fraudulent for the facility to “miss” the room three nights straight and blamed the customers for not “telling them”.
- 3/5
The staff was amazing. Room was really small, but as to be expected
- 5/5
Excellent location and amazing hotel!
- 5/5
Really well located hotel near Times Square. Staff were great and made a big effort to make my wife’s 30th birthday memorable. The hotel also offers $20 credit a day to spend in the cafe which was great for grabbing a coffee and pastry in the morning before heading out, I didn’t know this was the case so it was a nice surprise.
- 5/5
The staff was very accommodating and helpful.
- 5/5
Excellent staff , location , and they did a great job with giving free drinks throughout the stay .
- 4/5
The hotel was in a great location. Staff was always very helpful. The only minor complaint was hearing loud music on Saturday night until early into the morning. Overall, stay was great.
- 5/5
The cafe attached is so good.
- 5/5
great vibe and good location rooftop bar was fun and easily accessible especially if your staying there
- 5/5
Perfect location, clean property, rooftop bar was very cool! All around a great stay with wonderful perks. We took advantage of the free boat cruise and loved the experience.
- 4/5
Rooms were Small but nice! Very clean and friendly staff
- 5/5
Staff were very friendly. Had snacks set up in lobby each afternoon, which was a great little treat. Although the rooms are small - they are perfect for a trip to NYC! Moxy was a great experience - would definitely book again!
- 5/5
Sleek and modern hotel with amazing and professional staff. Great location within walking distance to a lot of sights. I would stay here again and would definitely recommend to others.
- 5/5
Great all around for a week of business in the city. Moxy is walking distance to a variety of subway lines. Room was clean and beds comfortable. Lots of space in the lounge to connect with a client or have some personal time before or after the day.
- 5/5
Great area and room services. Staff was not very welcoming.
- 5/5
We were here for fun and this was a great hotel. The proximity to Times Square is what originally attracted us to the hotel. It was super clean, and the staff was friendly.
- 4/5
The location was great perfect. The lift is the only issue didn’t work most of the time kept going to the wrong floor
- 5/5
Good

LOVE this hotel! Location is great and staff is very helpful
- 5/5
The staff were fantastic! Super friendly, had plenty of recommendations and accommodated anything we needed. The property was also super clean, housekeeping was on top of everything and checked in here and there to make sure we were taken care of. Honestly super great experience and lively place to stay, full of energy and upbeat.

All great

The location, the uniqueness of the room and how they use the space and the vibe of this hotel was fantastic! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there!

Hotel has excellent location. Staff is friendly, but want to send great Thanks to front desk staff Imani. She made us feel very welcome and explained well all additional bonuses of staying at Moxy Roof top bar has breathtaking views, daily credits at coffee shop and pleasant surprises like daily free tour. Highly recommend
- 4/5
The rooms were definitely very New York based on the room size. It’s a small living space so you definitely have to be organized. The location was perfect for all the things we wanted to do. 99% of the staff was kind and inviting except one female front desk worker. Overall a great trip.
- 5/5
Will come again
- 5/5
Perfect location close to transit, shops, and places to eat (both high and low). The Moxy is the only place you should stay to get the most bang for your buck. Get hotel bar, restaurant, fun quirky rooms, and an awesome staff. Definitely make The Moxy you’re go to hotel in NYC and wherever they may reside.

Clean, comfy and convenient for our stay in New York!!
- 5/5
Room was amazing and restaurant was awesome! So good, will be back!
- 4/5
My family and I stayed here over Valentine's Day weekend. It was nice seeing that other families had the same idea. Rooms were pretty soundproof, so I didn’t overhear anyone enjoying their time. I like the daily room credit. We made good use of that as well as the grab and go breakfast bar.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff, walkable location!
- 5/5
Shops, restaurants, bars, subway all nearby
- 4/5
Location, staff, and overall experience was great. I'm just shocked at how few upgrades have been made to this hotel. Every time I stay at a Moxy in NYC, my shower floods into my hotel room.

Our time in NYC was extended due to the huge snowstorm in January -- and the staff was awesome about helping us add extra time. Perfect amenities, including the incredible mountain lodge-themed rooftop bar. It was like being inside of a snow globe up there! Will definitely be back!

My experience was good. One matter was our room being turned down to be cool when it is freezing outside, I understood the maid may have needed the temperature to be cooler while she cleaned. Just remembering to set the room temperature back.

When we reached the room, it was freezing cold. It was an extremely cold night in New York but it became clear the bedroom window was very draughty and there was only a flimsy blind keeping out the cold air. We immediately turned on the heating which we instantly regretted as it was louder than a jumbo jet taking off. There’s no way such a loud heating unit could be considered normal so we called reception immediately who said they would send a maintenance man to take a look. On his arrival he was incredibly nonplussed, essentially stating that it was normal. We said there was no way we could possibly sleep with the heating making so much noise so he advised us to call reception to change rooms which we did. We were shown another room on the same floor but there was the exact same issue with the noisy heating unit so, utterly exhausted, we opted to stay where we were. Left with the choice of not sleeping or freezing to death, we chose the former and endured the ear-splitting noise for the duration of our stay. This alone made our experience miserable but there are many more reasons why this place sucked.

This was our 4th Stay at The Moxy Times Square having been to NYC 9 times. This occasion was to celebrate my 50th Birthday. You cannot fault The Moxy, easy to check in, there is a buzz about the place, you have to check out the roof top bar. Room was clean and as expected, very comfortable bed, I would highly recommend. Location is superb, 2 blocks from Macys and Penn station.

Staff was great and a good vibe in the hotel
- 2/5
Nice location, decent rooms, pretty typical Moxy. But also lots of issues. (1) Absurd "resort fee", that then gives you $20 credit (I'll make my own food choices, thanks; also, almost nothing on the menu is under $20, so it's just a way to get you to spend *even more*). (2) For a "city that never sleeps", morning coffee not available before 7am. ) (3) When I visited they had "free breakfast", which was just a bunch of plastic-wrapped muffins. So it felt both scammy and overpromising/underdelivering.
- 1/5
Front desk was rude and bathroom was
- 5/5
Super close to Times Square and tons of food options to be had.
- 5/5
But very good
- 5/5
Clean room, nice staff. The ajoining coffee shop was delicious
- 5/5
Staff was very kind
- 5/5
Very pleasant stay! perfect for a solo traveler, if you bring someone else i fear the bathroom doors wouldnt leave much for privacy...
- 5/5
Moxy Times Square is an absolute gem. Well located, clean, with efficient rooms that are spartan but well thought out. The staff were friendly and helpful. The cafe and restaurant were convenient and high quality. I’d stay here again if I had the chance, and I plan to!
- 4/5
Good staff and room, a bit small but it did the job. Complimentary beverages were received as we checked in. Ac was kinda loud tho
- 5/5
Really clean and amazing staff! Perfect location to a lot of great spots too
- 5/5
Great location, easy to access from the train. Everyone was very nice and accomodating.
- 5/5
It would be a five except the door to our bathroom did not open and close more than 5 inches. Otherwise great location, really friendly and helpful staff clean and quiet rooms.
- 5/5
excellent location
- 5/5
Great location very convenient, near to Times Square, all personnel so friendly.

Room was spotless and cleaned thoroughly. Front desk staff was amazing.
- 5/5
Awesome service
- 4/5
Good shower, comfy bed
- 1/5
only one terrible stay
- 1/5
The smallest room I have ever slept in. Staff was nice but it was like sleeping in Harry Potters bedroom. Also the service charge for checking in after not informing guest is not right.
- 5/5
Convenient location, well maintained property, friendly staff, and the $20/day credit for the cafe was great!
- 5/5
Lovely stuff, good location, big room!
- 3/5
The fan on our HVAC unit ran continuously, despite being set to an auto mode. The smell of perfume in the lobby was overwhelming. They could have handled guests more pleasantly when dealing with the fire alarm.
- 5/5
Staff on front desk so helpful and able to book a taxi transfer at a really good rate. Room was good and shower was great after day out walking
- 4/5
Location and amenities was good. Room was just ok. For such a small room, it was super weird to have see through metal barn doors as bathroom doors. You couldnt see out of the bathroom into the room, but you could see clear as day from the room into the bathroom. Odd choice…
- 5/5
Staff was great!
- 1/5
Great design, terrific elements. Horrible execution on service. Shower leaked floors were delaminating smelled a mildew. Was promised everyday to fix the problem, nothing happened. A destination fee, which was just the way to extort $43 a day. Expedia did nothing, Marriott the main brand did nothing, the hotel manager Alex so far has done nothing. I don't say this lately, this is a disgrace to the Marriott brand. Expedia has failed miserably, worse than the hotel! Further this is still being argued, and they are doing nothing, Expedia is doing nothing! What makes this so bad I had my children with me and it literally got to be an unsafe and dangerous situation for slip and fall accidents. This was a disaster, partly expedia's fault! Definitely Marriott and Moxie's fault. I would avoid it for at least 2 years
- 5/5
Staff are friendly and really helpful! Our room was super cute, my kids loved the bunk bed! Also, great location.
- 5/5
Great location. The bar/lounge on Level 2 is incredibly warm and welcoming. Staff are solid. Rooms are city scale but good
- 5/5
Clean, staff was SUPER helpful. Amenities an food are good.
- 5/5
There were good amenities, the rooms were conveniently sized. And the restaurants and shared spaces were really nice.
- 3/5
I promised $20 food credit doesn’t apply to one of their own restaurants (and arguably their most popular one) The rooms have no storage and only hangers Our bathroom was a little dingy in the bottom corners
- 5/5
Perfect location if you’re seeing a Broadway show and don’t want to drive home late at night. Compact but efficient room, with inviting common areas. Nice amenities such as complimentary water bottles upon check-in and coffee in the mornings.
- 5/5
We would definitely stay here again. You can’t go wrong.
- 5/5
Everything! Clean room! Friendly staff! Nice dining options.
- 4/5
Yes it was good
- 5/5
The hotel has a good restaurant apart of it and the $20 daily allowance to spend in the cafe next door was also a really good touch. I would stay here again and highly recommended it for other travellers
- 3/5
The rooms were decent sized however the positioning of the beds made one of the head of the beds right next to the AC which made it impossible to sleep next to due to the ac working. We had to change how we slept (the head of the bed now became the foot of the bed) and even still woke up with a stiff neck from the air blowing. The elevator (P2) was not working properly and had to open and close 3 times before actually closing and going up and down. We were not told this in the beginning at check in and caused some confusion as well as us getting in and out of the elevator with our suitcases because we didn’t know the elevator was malfunctioning. Overall the stay was okay…I think for the price you can get better.
- 3/5
Very small rooms, the shower water was lukewarm at best and the worst: it takes 10 min to get an elevator every single time.
- 3/5
The front desk staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. The elevators are dark confusing and the access to the luggage room was denied so we had to carry our luggage up a narrow steep staircase with no assistance. The front desk girls just spoke to each other- never told us about our beverage credit. We also got rudely chased by one of the front desk girls when we tried to access the Magic Hour elevator at 11:18 for our 11:30 reservation yelling that we couldn’t go up yet. Absolutely no security- anyone can access the side door and the elevators. No key needed. The entire vibe was sketchy. The staff were very young and unengaged and uninformed/uninterested in creating a positive experience for the guests.
- 5/5
Great room and great service! Really liked the rooftop bar and second level bar!
- 5/5
Room was very clean. Heat was excellent. We had a great stay.
- 4/5
The room was small, but that's usual for NYC; we weren't in the room that much, so it wasn't a problem for us. Our rooms were serviced every day; it was wonderful to come back to a nice clean room after a full day out and about. The staff was super helpful, and I LOVED the hygiene closet for guests.
- 2/5
Had no idea the rooms were so small I have. Ever stated in such a small uncomfortable hotel room
- 4/5
We had a lovely time overall, and the hotel is really nice. A couple of suggestions for improvement: extending the coffee hours beyond 10 am (or at least making it available for purchase) would've been great. The room had cups but no coffee maker or fridge - even a way to heat water would've been nice, considering the price isn't cheap. Little touches like that would elevate the stay. One other thing - the scent when you walk in is overpowering, especially at night (and it carries into the rooms), could be an issue for folks with allergies. That said, we'll definitely stay again 😊.
- 4/5
- 4/5
The room was always spotless and hotel is in a great location! Check in was a bit awkward for me and the elevators took some time to figure out. Loved the rooftop bar, that was amazing! Was also so happy for preferred access to the rooftop as a guest of the hotel. Was a little confused what the resort fees covered, but recouped most of them in the coffee bar and hotel bar.
- 4/5
Wasn’t thrilled about the “resort fee” I felt I was ambushed by that Vegas style and would like more transparency on pricing when booking.
- 5/5
Room was small but clean. Elevators were a challenge at first, but once we learned the system, it was great. We will definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Fab hotel, fab staff, fab location
- 5/5
The Moxy overall was a great place to stay at if you are walking around all day and sightseeing. They’re located right in the center where you can see the Times Square, Bryant Park the Rockefeller Center, and right next to the Empire State building as well. If you ever need time to just sit back and relax, their second floor has a lot of seats available to sit back and relax. The staff was really nice and helped out if you had any questions. Would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Good location
- 4/5
Room was clean, matched description
- 4/5
Overall, I think I would stay at the Moxy again. We did enjoy the overall fun, youthful vibes, the lounge spaces, the DJ on Saturday night, the snacks/extras in the entry space and more. It is a GREAT place to stay!!
- 5/5
The room was small but the whole hotel makes up for it. It has the best location for a midtown trip.
- 5/5
Everything was great!
- 4/5
Room was small but clean. No wardrobe facilites but plenty of hooks on the wall to hand clothes. Room service every day with fresh towels. Small bottles of water in room every day. Staff very friendly & eacy check in/out process. Great location about a 5 minute walk from times square. Windows thin so could hear everywthing outside.
- 5/5
Kind staff and super cool hotel . The best place in Midtown
- 4/5

Comfortable bed, great location and Elgant
- 5/5
Great location- friendly staff from check in to the baggage service. Sonam was quick efficient and very polite. Highly recommend !
- 5/5
Room was exactly as described, clean, functional! Hotel staff were extremely professional and accommodating! They provided us water bottles each day which was very nice. It was surprisingly quiet at night as well, only heard sirens once in our 4 night stay, previously trips at other hotels, it was an all-night/every-night thing. My favorite part though was that we felt very safe during our entire stay!
- 5/5
Very friendly
- 5/5
Great place to stay in New York
- 5/5
Air conditioning was exactly and so was breakfast
- 5/5
Staff! So lovely.
- 5/5
Clean room, nice staff, easy access to the tourist attractions!
- 3/5
No cupboards or clothes storage and no chairs or table. I will compliment the staff who were very pleasant and responsive to requests
- 5/5
The Moxy NYC Times Square is a great place to stay in midtown Manhattan, just a few blocks south of Times Square. Our room was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone looking for a place with a different style from what you find in most other hotel chains.
- 5/5
Nice and clean room.
- 5/5
Nice
- 5/5
We stayed on Halloween for the Tame Impala concert in Brooklyn. They had a super cute Halloween set up with complimentary candy and drinks, which doubled as a cute photo-op. Our room was surprisingly spacious for a NY hotel. The vibe is divine, fun, young, and inclusive. Luggage storage is a fantastic bonus so you can shop with ease. Rooftop bar and restaurants are a bonus. The location cannot be beat to get to Times Square and all transportation options like Penn station and subways. Zen Ramen and Sushi is close and a must stop with the friendliest best staff and super cheap happy hour deals on food and drinks and Dunkin is around the corner. I will never stay anywhere else. Worth every penny. Stay here, with love.
- 4/5
Simple, comfortable and a great location!
- 5/5
Great staff, fab location, nice facilities, clean rooms. Enjoyed using the destination fee towards a cheeky glass of wine in the bar!
- 5/5
We arrived early, and everyone was super nice. While our room wasn't ready yet (which I assumed it wouldn't be), they let us check our bags into hotel storage so we could go do whatever we wanted until it was. They have very nice seating areas above the lobby. The rooftop dining was fun for my group. I liked that the elevators you pressed on a screen before going in and the bedroom floors required room keys so that felt more safe. The room itself was also very nice, small but efficient. Great for a small group staying for a few days. Would definitely book with them again.
- 5/5
Smooth stay
- 5/5
Lovely, stylish and clean. Great location!
- 5/5
The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the bathroom was very nice. It would have been nice to have a couple of chairs.
- 5/5
Always convenient, lively welcoming atmosphere
- 5/5
Friendly, clean, safe
- 5/5
beautiful hotel in a great location with lots of dining options
- 5/5
Excellent location, handy for Penn Station and surrounding areas
- 3/5
Was ok. The elevators were a little much to deal with.
- 5/5
Loved our stay at Moxy!
- 5/5
Nothing to boil water with, which was inconvenient. Only one basin. But was clean, and the staff was helpful.
- 5/5
Love everything about the moxy
- 5/5
Clean and convenient
- 4/5
Great location, loved the roof top bar
- 5/5
Theres not much in the very near vacinity, so you have to walk to grab convinces such as bottled water and snacks. But in terms of locations its pretty well situated and theres a subway station nearby.
- 5/5
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Moxy. From the minute we stepped in, we were warmly greeted, offered a cold beverage and given a royal treatment. Wilford! You the man!
- 5/5
Room is small but clean. Staff friendly.
- 5/5
Great location for this property to explore NYC
- 5/5
I had an event in the city near the hotel my reason for staying
- 4/5
The property is great; the bunk room is cool in theory, but the shower/bathroom area only has a frosted glass door/window into the room so there's very little privacy. The bathroom door also didn't close all the way. The rooftop bar is very pretty but the drinks were mediocre. Staff at downstairs bar wasn't very friendly or welcoming but drinks were better than upstairs.
- 1/5
Did not appreciate the aggressive staff who made me fear for my safety.
- 5/5
So close to MSG - great for concerts and to Penn Station, busy area, typical mid-town traffic and congestion. The Magic Hour rooftop is great, amazing food for a rooftop bar and great view and festive vibe!
- 5/5
First time to MYC and the Moxy was the perfect place to stay. The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Ricky was amazing!
- 5/5
Awesome vibe. Rooftop bar, modern location
- 5/5
Great location, good interiors, coffee at the first floor is priceless.
- 5/5
Great central location however very busy area due to Penn station
- 1/5
very small rooms I mean youth hostel size we complained as the room was not fit for purpose! area around great but the rooms are not worth the charge we paid $432 a night we did gat an upgrade but the size was not much better would not stay here again!
- 5/5
Moxy is always a great stay. You always know what you are getting and the property is top notch! Love the Moxy!
- 5/5
I love the unique layout and proximity to all of the excitement
- 5/5
Compact, efficient space. Loved staying here!
- 4/5
We had a great time! Staff was wonderful
- 5/5
Perfectly located two blocks from MSG/Penn Station. Close to Time Square without being in the middle of the madness. Would stay again.

Yes, of course the rooms are small, it’s New York City! But the way they are designed gives you plenty of room for your things and to get around. Clean and comfortable with a modern chic vibe.

Inconvenience number 1- Unexpected check-in charges. - I was expecting a charge of around $290 for destination fees and tax ect but the receptionist requested $650 which with the remainder to be refunded on check out. Luckily I had brought my credit card to cover this but this was $460 unexpected expenses at the start of my trip. Inconvenience number 2 - Fire alarm The fire alarm woke me and my partner at 1.30am. We were standing on the streets till 2.30am. The fire alarm was sounded due to a technical issue. There was no apology from the members of staff. Inconvenience number 3 - Loud roof top bar into the small hours of the night. On the Saturday and Sunday nights, excessive level of noise was coming from the roof top bar until 3am. The music was so loud that the windows in my room were vibrating. Inconvenience number 4 - 2 charges were made to my room from the cafe and bar. Luckily I never charged anything to my room so the fraudulent charges were easy to spot. Had I made charges to my room I would’ve never been able to spot these. Inconvenience number 5. Charges after check out. The day after checking out I received an email detailing a $7 charge for a bottle of water from my room. I did not touch the water bottles in the room. After emailing this was sorted out. Overall the hotel is great location and extremely clean for NYC. But you will not be able to get good sleep on the weekend.

Really good location
- 5/5
Location location right in the middle of everything safe and easy. Do not take an Uber from airport use yellow city taxi’s flat fare much cheaper
- 5/5
I enjoyed staying at the moxy’s time square, so central to everything. The room was perfect for a solo travel. Thank you!

We asked for a kettle to be dropped off at the room and we never
- 5/5
Vibrant location. Spacious. Well lit. Very clean. Fun decor.
- 5/5
All staff that I interacted with were very kind!
- 5/5
great hotel for partying. Noise from the rooftop bar can be heard in the room if you are a light sleeper, but if that does not bother you then it’s a great hotel to stay in NYC
- 4/5
Great location for Times Square. Rooms very small even for NY.
- 5/5
This place is the middle of everything. If you are a tourist, you can walk in several directions to see as much as possible. It is a bit loud at night, but hey, that’s the city. All rooms in NYC are small in comparison to other major metros, so that was to be expected.
- 5/5
Excellent property! Super close to everything and in a great location.
- 5/5
Great spot
- 2/5
The staff don't seem to know what the hotel offers. Breakfast arrangements, coupons are a mess. Finding the roof top bar was impossible. Old noisy air conditioning units mean you have to turn it off. No 'Do Not Disturb' cards in room...thus chambermaids 'knock' at 8am to wake you up! Airport style check-in all cumbersome and queues everywhere. Moxy brand has moved too far from normal hotel experience and it was not work.
- 5/5
Nice hotel with very polite staff. Would stay here again.
- 5/5
Really funky hotel with nice common areas and a cool hotel bar with DJ. Good location close to Time Square. Just a shame we couldn’t get to use the roof top bar as our children were only 18 and 20. In the UK they would have been fine. Maybe if accompanied by an adult over 18 should be allowed?
- 4/5
We couldn’t check into our room until 6.30pm which was frustrating after a long journey, but the staff gave us complimentary drinks and the rest of the stay was great. Staff helpful, lots of space, we brought takeout back a couple of times and were able to eat it in the lounge area. Food and drink were nice. Beds comfy. Lounge area is lively and quite busy, with a DJ playing some nights. There is a rooftop bar, but you have to be 21. All in all it worked well for us, a family of 6 who wanted to be in the heart of Manhattan.
- 5/5
We had a weather delay result in a missed connection and myself and my son chose this hotel due to its high rating and reasonable rates for last-minute booking. This hotel and staff did not disappoint. The Moxy is well-located, clean, and full of friendly staff who helped us navigate what could've been a very stressful experience! From making sure we booked the right room (at almost 2AM!), making sure we could navigate the city, storing our luggage and arranging airport transport - the team really stepped up. The hotel itself is quite fun with unique, comfortable decor and fist floor lounge, coffee, and work space. We sadly did not make the roof bar as we were only passing through, however, we very much hope to return for a proper New York visit and stay here again in the future.

Super awesome place great vibes. Staff super friendly and helpful
- 3/5
Overall pretty average . Staff were nice , host in the restaurant was pretty rude but everyone else really good , Standout was room service . Pretty disappointed that there was an added charge of $35 per day that we weren’t told about until we checked out . Very busy hotel , No fridge in room , layout of rooms is odd , super small rooms , first hotel we have stayed in that doesn’t offer a buffet breakfast. Nice touch of the $20 per day at the cafe is great tho . Location is great also .
- 5/5
We enjoyed the Moxy very much. The $20 a day made it easy to grab a coffee or snack. We will likely be coming back for our next stay.
- 3/5
We had a king room which had ample space and a comfortable bed. The property, bars and staff were also great- but the only reason we have dropped 2 stars is because the AC was horrendously loud. Being during the summer months it was a pretty critical thing to have!
- 5/5
Small rooms, which is in the description so it wasn't surprising but the hotel is super cute and fun energy! The staff was kind and helpful and the area is super convenient and walkable.
- 5/5
It was a nice property. Room was Decent size we booked the loft room as we were 3 but it had enough space. Enjoyed the stay!
- 3/5
Rooms are extremely small. The AC in our room didn’t work well. We had to have the technician come up twice and still didn’t work properly. The room also had a stale smell. The staff and service were great. I would give them 5 star for the staff and service.
- 2/5
Staff was good. Surrounding area was alright. My issues are with the elevators and the room. The elevators were the worst to get in and out having huge groups waiting 5+ minutes trying fit us all in a small elevator and many of us having to not get in and waiting another 5+ minutes. Room were small but the problem wasn’t that, it was the broken toilet that would stop flushing itself and the water from the shower flooding our room and wetting our bags. We had to use all the towels to clean it up. It was horrible. Also the hallways leading to the room were dark and hard to breathe, felt as if there was no movie air or air at all at times. I have photos amid the room floor being flooded.

Great location, very walkable to Times Square, subway, MSG, Penn station. Charming rooftop patios

My husband and I stayed
- 5/5
Loved our stay! Rooms are on the small side but with many good ideas with tons of hooks and storage under the beds. Beds were very comfortable. Common areas were handy to have when relaxing at the hotel. We wished our teen was allowed on the rooftop, even for lunch to see the sights.
- 4/5
Minimalist hotel so be prepared for tight quarters. Otherwise loved the food, staff, location. Beware additional hotel fees.
- 1/5
Poor hygiene as we had Ben bug bites , not great customer service , breakfast voucher not handed on check in . Excellent location .
- 4/5
Great vibe, rooms really well planned to optimise space. AC was good (thank goodness because it was in the 90s outside) and the bed was comfy. Staff were always helpful and friendly. We had housekeeping every second day; spare towels and pillows were supposed to be available through a self-serve closet but there were never any there when we checked. That was our only minor frustration; otherwise this was a great hotel in a really good location.
- 5/5
Location is amazing, rooms perfect for a NYC stay. Decent bar on the roof and great bars on 36th toward 6th avenue, recommend the Ragtrader. Easily walkable to all sights, great stay.
- 5/5
Great job
- 4/5
My wife and i stayed here for 1 night. It was easy check in. The hotel bar and the rooftop bar were both nice. Drinks on the pricey side but nice ambiance. My only complaint is that the noise from the street was pretty loud. I was located on the 6th fl with windows facing the street. I would recommend a higher floor to help with that. Other than that, it's a lovely small hotel and the staff are very helpful and friendly.
- 5/5
Close to subway stations so everything is accessible. 10 min walk away from time square. I stayed there alone but being in a busy area made me feel safe. Also lots of dining option in the area.
- 1/5
The included breakfast was equally underwhelming, consisting of packaged muffins, loaves, and yogurt. We wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
We got amazing service at Moxy, the staff here at what makes the place, they go out of their way to help you. We are from New Zealand and had come in from Las Vegas over night and got their at 8am expecting to have to store our luggage the lovely Creig ( not sure on spelling) let us have our room early we were so tired and could not have been more grateful, he also helped as along the way with other tips so kind! Loved loved our stay at the Moxy and New York was an experience which will be with us forever!
- 2/5
The room is extremely small for the price we paid. No closet, had to hung the clothes against the wall. There was a big cockroach in the shower 1 night. It was horrible
- 5/5
3rd floor room from the bar below. It was no biggie. The lounge is nice and the food and service at Legasea were great too. Nick the manager there was super helpful. Rooms are small and not traditional but it didn't bother us.
- 5/5
Staff was amazing! Great walking distance to Times Square and multiple subway entrances! Beautiful atmosphere and vibes! We appreciated the property having an 18+ check in age + luggage storage !
- 4/5
Didn’t like how there wasn’t a mini fridge already in the room but everything else was great!!
- 4/5
Great location..
- 4/5
Please fix the elevators or install more…the wait at most times of the day was quite long.
- 1/5
Small rooms
- 3/5
Rooms are tiny and there’s a lot a noise at night. This is not a hotel that you will choose to rest, but rather a place to crash and shower. There was “breakfast” included but the idea of breakfast was offering tiny bottles of water, bananas and muffins.
- 3/5
The hotel is conveniently located and clean, but the elevators are lethal. There is keypad system to request the elevator you want, and after that you have zero control over your life and where you end up. There are no sensors on the elevator doors, so they will close on you if you are a fraction of a second too slow getting on- and they will not stop! Then the elevator may take you up, may take you down, may stop at your floor, or it may blow past it and get you on the way back. Or perhaps your key card won't work at all! When I checked in, there was a long line of people trying to get their key cards working! I can't recommend a hotel with such a bizarre system.
- 5/5
Great place to stay if you want to walk everywhere. Its close to Penn Station, Times Square, many options to eat. Coffee is hot and complementary before 10am. Great spot!

Excellent hotel
- 5/5
Great and clean property! Staff was excellent. Baggage check in was very convenient. Would absolutely stay again!
- 5/5
Hotel is very nice, very close to Time Square. Lots of food places around the hotel and subway is only walking distance.
- 5/5
Nice location near Times Square.
- 4/5
Cool place and within easy walking distance to many places.
- 1/5
The property was great and ticked all the boxes. However, they took a hefty deposit which wasn’t mentioned when I booked the hotel and this money will be returned to me in upto 14 days…no other hotel physically takes a security deposit and holds onto it.
- 5/5
The check in team were fantastic. Loved our stay here!
- 5/5
In NYC. The one in time square is a great location when visiting clients. The mezzanine floor is really great to get some work done in the morning and for a good 5@7 at night. Rooms are small but comfortable and practical
- 4/5
It was ok. Not enough lighting in the room.
- 5/5
Good location, really good service
- 5/5
Thank you
- 5/5
Love this place, been twice now and will be back! The air con stopped working on our last night but maintenance were able to provide us with great fans which did the job. Best showers ever!

Nice

We were greeted enthusiastically by front desk staff. They checked in a lobby full of guests very efficiently and made everyone feel welcome. We were impressed by the efficient layout and cleanliness of the room. The bar staff and front desk staff were very helpful and friendly, going above and beyond to meet our travel needs. I will definitely choose the Moxy Times Square again.
- 5/5
The location was perfect. I loved how it was tucked in a little corner off the busy side of Time Square. The room was perfect and I enjoyed the restaurant and bar very much. The staff is very helpful and professional.
- 5/5
Location is fantastic so close to Times Square, restaurants are bountiful as is shopping with Macy’s just a block away. Staff were excellent if there is anything you think you need just ask they will help every which way possible. I’ll definitely return.
- 3/5
Rooms way way too small. Poor service at check in
- 5/5
Great stay and as advertised. Would recommend and would stay here again!

Even in midtown and really busy the rooms are nice, clean and quite. The roomsize could be a little bigger but for NYC they are good.
- 5/5
Always a great time at moxy properties
- 3/5
Unfortunately, the rooms are TINY. We had a king size bed, and the width of our room including the bathroom and bedroom, was barely wider than the bed was long. Whoever sleeps against the wall cannot get out of bed without the other person getting up as well or without climbing over the top of your partner. Also, there is no closet. You get about 40 wall hooks, a couple fabric pockets that can hold 5 pairs of socks, and a bit of under bed storage. It is well-priced for the location, but it is not nearly cheap enough to compensate for the fact it is half the size of a normal, already small NYC hotel room. I might consider staying here as a single traveler with no plans of entertaining during my visit, but for the trivial amount of money you are actually saving compared to nearby hotels, I don’t think it is a tradeoff I would be likely to make.
