    But when entering the room it had a strong strange smell, maybe the cleaning chemicals, which did not feel good. Opened the window and it got better of course, but then it's noisy out there.

    The rooms are tiny even for New York City and have no suitable chair or seating area - an uncomfortable metal hanging chair or a folding stool that can't actually be positioned at the folding desk as a workstation, so you have to sit on the bed to work. Also no closet (just hangers on pegs) and no drawers for storage (so I basically lived out of my suitcase). My room had a bad cigarette smoke smell for the first 48 hours, but when a maintenance person came to check it out, he took two steps in and said it smelled fine. There was also water seeping up through the floor and mold/mildew in the room corners and shower, which had poor water pressure. The amenities fee of $30/day is a ridiculous profit generator (with high food/drink prices to match) and is not, as the check-in agent said, "required at all New York City hotels now". They did grant me a one-hour extension on check-out. The Moxy vibe is trying to be young and trendy, but it felt fake here and there are far better hotels in the area for this high price. I would not stay again.

    It's a nice place to stay--fun and funky. Rooms are pretty tight on space but well-designed overall. We would stay again but your check in folks could be a little friendlier/warmer. Bar is very lively and the central place to gather. Very fun that there is a basketball court and foosball.

    Brilliant location a short walk from the Brooklyn bridge and 9/11 memorial, clean rooms and friendly staff. Breakfast was included and lots to choose from and the games in the bar area are a huge plus for kids and teens No complaints at all

    The only thing I didn’t like was that our room wasn’t ready at check-in. It was already 5:20 PM, even though check-in was supposed to be at 4:00 PM. We were very tired from traveling and were looking forward to getting settled into our room. However, they did allow us to leave our luggage earlier so we could explore the city while we waited.

    Location and the breakfast were superb! All staff were so helpful and nice! Would def recommend for a solo traveller. The lobby turns into a bar late at night, so be awere of that! Was quite shocked when I first came, but loved it the rest of the trip!

    - location is great - plenty of restaurants in the area - close to the subway - super comfortable bed - big window - room size is totally ok for NYC -early check in available I booked a room with the city view but I had to ask to change twice to have a decent non-obstructed view. 1st one: partly obstructed with a direct vision on the neighbors + view on the construction. No light in the room. 2nd one: completely obstructed with a building of offices. No natural lights at all. Last one was finally ok. I find it really disappointing to pay extra for a city view and having to ask for a decent view upon arrival. The 1st staff was really nonchalant/blasé with the request which made it feel worse. - no complimentary water in the room

    Such a great spot we stayed as a family of four teenage boys 16 and 18 loved the games bar and live dj and basketball court and the room was nicely decorated, quiet and more spacious than expected! Nelson took great care of us from check in to check out!

    Really great location and the people were nice (especially the one guy in the front I forgot his name but he’s the Dominican guy). The basketball court is really cool!! Views are nice and the style was cool. The bar/game area is also super fun. My sister in law was saying on a different floor and I couldn’t go to her because of the weird key and elevator situation. The toilet was hard to flush and there was an odor from the pipes/toilet. The elevator also took so long to come and the buttons didn’t work well from our floor. At one point we were told that we couldn’t have the basketball because the management said so, but then we saw people doing basketball a few minutes later.

    Great location! The restaurant is weird. It’s fun, loud music, great drinks, adult games. However, although the staff is nice the service is bad. They garnished my drink with a rotten fuzzy strawberry. We had to hunt our server down to take our order. If we went to the bar, they wanted us back at our table. Weird vibe. Felt like we were bothering them. Check in is strange too. You can check in on main level or go to floor 3. No one tells you the second part.

    It was a hip cool hotel with a young fresh atmosphere. There was a bar at night with a dj until 1am. I was too tired from travel but I will take advantage of that next time! The staff was excellent, especially Isaac who was so helpful and went above and beyond.

    The property was close to the subway station and was easily accessible from Fulton Street from Broadway. There was a lot of construction and part of the sidewalk was closed down, which is not uncommon for the city. They had a great lobby with a good bar and entertainment loved the vibe. Rooms were cute and minimal amount of space was utilized to the max. The rooms are a little small, which is normal for ? NYC but there’s no refrigerator a community microwave and no snacks or beverages on the floor. You’d have to ride the elevator several floors in order to get any ice or anything like that, but there were a couple of snacks for sale as well as bottled water in the room.

    The inside is better than the outside. The front door could be upgraded. Hotel staff never came to clean in 4 nights stay, without being called twice to just to get towels. There is very little room to move around the end of the beds and the bed corners caught a few legs. Nothing to put toiletries on in shower.

    We arrived at the hotel at 4:30 p.m. but were unable to check in until 5:30 p.m. The reception staff seemed uninterested in helping and repeatedly said that the room was still being cleaned. If the official check-in time is 4:00 p.m., it is unclear why the room was not ready until 5:30 p.m. Although we were offered a $10 food credit for the inconvenience, that credit was not even applied to the final bill. In addition, the curtains in the room could not be opened or closed manually, so we had to call someone every time we needed assistance with them. I was also confused by the valet parking arrangement. Instead of true valet service, I had to go two streets away to self-park, and I was charged more than I would have paid had I parked directly at the garage myself. On top of that, I was told to remove the car from the garage within 10 minutes of checking out. Most hotels usually allow guests to keep their car parked until later on the day of checkout.

    Excellent location near the Fulton subway station. Very easy to get around. Friendly, helpful staff. Room was comfortable but shows signs of wear & tear. Our room was not cleaned the last 2 days - you have to call and request it if they skip your room in the morning. I would definitely stay here again. I recommend it to other travellers. You will be safe and comfortable. It’s a good price.

    Rooms were clean, quiet, and roomy but no iron or mini bar items in room despite signage indicating there was. Hotel location is very convenient to FiDi and World Trade area but hotel layout is awkward with needing to take two elevators to get from check-in, through the bar, and then up to the guest rooms. Check-in staff was very nice and helpful; however, at 2am on Tuesday morning, someone was yelling in the hallway attempting to evict a guest who had stayed past check out. Based on this experience alone, I would never return to this hotel. Work travel/projects are tiring enough; unnecessary interrupted sleep made for a very long day when I should have been at my best

    Overall the hotel was great! Our room got upgraded to the 27th floor from the 9th! It was spacious for 2 queens. The staff were nice and helpful. The only downside at all was the lobby is on the third floor, not the first, so it’s a little confusing.

I had to look at my phone to see the time. But other than that the establishment was very nice and i loved the bar. And i love the taco i got when i first arrived they was delicious. I also like how there was games to play. It’s a amazing place.

He was sarcastic, unhappy, condescending and overall just plainly disrespectful. His name was Lluis I believe. The hotel is a bit noisy and the elevators are dated. The view though was beautiful and the room felt modern. I emailed the manager about my experience, but never received a response so for this reason and my overall experience, I would not recommend this hotel. The other Moxy is much better

    My only issue was the elevator situation for getting to your room. From the main entrance you take one elevator up to the lounge floor. From there you walk towards middle to then take three elevators to get to your room. On the night we arrived only two seemed to be able to open its door on the lounge floor to pick up and drop off people. We could see the third elevator going up and down the floors but when it came down to the lounge floor, the door wouldn’t open. Getting to and from our rooms took longer than we would have liked. Also booking through Expedia made it seem like breakfast for two was included in our stay but that wasn’t the case.

    Check in was a nightmare. Agent clearly doesn’t know anything in regard to customer service or understanding their role. I couldn’t check in with a PHOTO of my ID, despite what the supervisor mentioned. I waited 5 hrs to get checked in. Every employee at the bar/restaurant is weird and cult like. They just stand around staring as if you’re invading their space. Anyah and Claribel are the only decent people here. For whatever reason there was a $100 hidden fee not mentioned via Expedia the front desk agent when I called twice prior to my stay. Two nights cost me $317, split into two payments the larger portion to Expedia for booking through a third party and a $30 per night “destination fee” whatever that means. They were going to charge me over $100 for incidentals supervise somehow settled on $100 after checkout I received a notification that Moxy updated the price to $68. I’ve contacted Moxy several times to no avail now my email thread is no deliverable.

    After getting back hone I received my checkout receipt and was charged for a water and two bags of chips that were in the room. We did not eat any of that they were left just where we found them untouched. We bought our own chips and waters from the cvs. First time that I stayed here everything was perfect. I had called to ask about the charge from the chips and water and they told me it was too late to do anything since I had already checked out, how was I supposed to know I was going to get charged for something we didn’t eat or open ?? They told me they would remove it and give me a call back, never received a call back and they still charged me I had to call the customer service line and they refunded me the money.

    The hotel is really, definitely fun for kids and adults. They fell short on the room. No hand soap in the bathroom, water got to lukewarm at best. When the water finally got warmer the next day, it was only because I left it running for mor3 than five minutes.

    I love this location and their staff is fantastic from the front desk, to the restaurant to housekeeping. With all the compliments on the team, I did struggle a bit during my stay. The in room TV remote would not allow me to shut off the screen, the tv had to be physically disconnected by facilities late at night because the buttons didn’t work. The lighting system in the room the options that were for the nigh lamps would not turn off and the bulb had to be unscrewed. On three separate occasions myself and other guests thought we were going to be stuck on the elevator that takes you up to the lounge, restaurant area. The elevators not only rattled loudly but it felt like it was falling. All around a lovely hotel in need of some love.

    Wonderful except for tv issue upon arrival that Engineer Will fixed promptly! It should be noted Will is a hidden jewel, phenomenal customer service!!!! If upper management does not know his name - please call me! He is the prime example of what you want Moxy to represent!     The staff were super friendly and approachable, and the room was clean, comfortable, and just the right size for a solo traveler or couple. It had all the basic amenities I needed for a short getaway. There are also plenty of great food spots nearby, and the train is just a short walk away, making it easy to explore the city. The overall vibe of the hotel was really chill and social — I met all kinds of people visiting for the marathon and other events. I’d definitely recommend this spot for anyone looking for a convenient, fun, and comfortable stay in lower Manhattan.

    After a bad experience at the Moxy 7 years ago, I thought I should finally give it another chance. The most regrettable decision i could have made. The staff at the coworking longue kicked us out the moment we finally settled in after a 6 hour flight. We flew out a crew of 6 people from LA to work on a very big project and we were rudely and abruptly kicked out. The elevators feel like they're going to drop out of the sky at a moments notice. The check in lobby was a disorganized and cluttered mess. The room smelled horrible, and for a similar price i could have found double the space.

    My recent stay at Moxy NYC Downtown was unfortunately below expectations. Upon arrival, the room conditions were less than satisfactory. The television did not function at all, and when a maintenance staff member was sent to address the issue, the cables and box were left exposed, giving the room an unfinished appearance. In addition, we attempted to contact the front desk several times without success, which made resolving issues particularly frustrating. The room’s curtains also malfunctioned repeatedly, allowing bright light into the room at night and making it difficult to rest properly. Overall, the stay was quite average despite the premium price. I had expected a higher standard of comfort and service from this property, and was disappointed that these issues were not better managed.

    Wow! Mixed feelings for sure! No microwave or ice in the room and when I went down to the lobby to get some, I was told it would be 30 minutes. The staff were nice, in fact, I think they were really nice, I just don’t think they had enough staff. You are paying for a view.

    I really enjoyed the basketball goal and other games. The bar was nice as well. I would have liked a more diverse bar food menu. We also never got the small towels we requested. Outside of these 2 things, the drinks were good and we enjoyed the dj Thur-Sunday.

    The basketball, Skee ball and other games were awesome. Beautiful bar/pub space. Modern, young, hip feel. Very close to tons of restaurant/cafe options. We also loved the view of the Brooklyn Bridge from in front of the elevators on our floor.

    The location of moxy downtown was perfect for my son’s drop off at college. Pace university has dorm buildings a block away in each direction. We stayed 2 nights and were able to give him space but still meet up for dinner and walks together in a few minutes, parking garage with overnight parking a block away. I will stay at moxy again when I come to visit in the future room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. the great room style lounge and restaurant was very approachable and had all the the Amenities you would need in a pinch.

    The elevator to the main elevator was broken for 75% of the trip, forcing us to walk up three flights of stairs each day multiple times. Additionally a smoking charge was applied to my card when smoking in the room was not a thing. I called to talk to someone and was told a manager would be calling me back at 1:00pm but still haven’t heard back from anyone.

    My partner and I stayed there for three nights and every single day, their elevator to the lounge was broken so we had to walk up and down the stairs. It was constantly out of service which was really inconvenient after being out all day, and on top of that we had to pay additional fees per night for amenities we didn’t even use. The location itself is convenient as it’s two minutes away from a subway station, but the elevator service ruined it for me. Especially because you had to take multiple elevators to your room, and they took forever to arrive.

    Place looks great, Place is very safe, room card is required to use elevator. Lounge area is very pretty, and the drinks actually have alcohol in them. The bartenders are super friendly , and so is the staff. 5 minute walk to the Seaport.

    Woke up late due to a long night of working, asked them to extend room 3 times was on hold 2 times finally they said to come down and I tapped my Apple Pay to extend, I leave and a couple hours later return to them saying I can’t stay there and I’m banned for literally no reason they withheld our stuff for over and hour with keys not working to open door, even the security felt bad for us.     Our stay was great. Check in was at 4:00 pm and the hotel was running behind due to late check outs. They were very communicative through the process and we ended up getting into our room 40 minutes after the initial time. Because of that inconvenience, they gave us an upgrade on the room and complimentary late check out.

    The front desk staff were wonderful. The room was small but supplied all that you needed. The lobby is loud, however you do not hear this up on the room levels. I would for sure say this hotel is aimed at a younger generation so if you are looking for a quiet lobby to kick back and chill this is not for you.

    Very Disappointed with Our Stay We had a very frustrating experience at this hotel. Our room was not cleaned until very late in the day—twice—which meant we had to go without fresh towels or a tidy space when we actually needed it. The TV didn’t work, and neither did the room phone, which made it difficult to report any issues. A technician did come by and tried his best, but unfortunately, the TV was never fixed. Being on the top floor, we could constantly hear the washer machines, which made it hard to relax or get a good night’s sleep. On top of that, when housekeeping finally showed up, the staff member was rude and dismissive. We chose this hotel expecting a comfortable and stress-free stay, but it was far from it. Definitely would not recommend, especially at the price we paid.

    It was a very nice stay. We didn’t get the room we booked for but I didn’t want to wait and fight for a better room the next day. Safety boxes don’t work so make sure you don’t bring valuables. The restaurant and bar very good specially a server called Ornela. She’s the best. Flat breads pretty good also.

    I was there for Pride weekend and had in fact booked the Moxy Chelsea and paid for the entire weekend. Only to find upon my arrival that they booked me instead to the Moxy downtown. Totally in the wrong area of the city. They would not move my reservation so I went down to the Moxy Downtown to see if we could transfer my reservation to the Chelsea location. They would not. I went up to the room and found it not only small - which they tell you is the reason the rooms have no closet. The condition of the room- cleanliness was ok but the room showed terrible signs of wear and tear the worst of which was the ceiling in the shower was falling in from apparently water damage from the floor above. I was so dissatisfied I left the hotel which was nowhere near where I NEEDED TO BE. In any case, I found the Meritine Hotel had vacancies for Sat and Sunday nights, I had heard of the hotel because of its architectural significance but knew nothing about the condition or service. Well, what a surprise- great service from the bellman, front office, housekeeping all first class. What's more, the hotel is appointed in a quirky dark motif - reminding me of its period-specific yet current tongue in cheek style of the Continental per John Wicks fame. The room was well-appointed, and had two closets a large chest of drawers, desk, side table and an occasional chair. Imagine my surprise when i found a fully stocked traditional mini bar! First Class.

    I was there to celebrate my birthday my husband booked a king size room with a city view. When we got there we were told the room was no longer available but we will get an upgrade to a queen room. I was trying to figure out how a queen room can be an upgrade from a king. When we looked out the window we saw the wall of the other side of the hotel and maybe only 2 other buildings. We paid $600 for 2 nights and the room was definitely not worth it.

    Two notable very weird things: There is a picture on the wall that, surprise!, slides away to reveal a glass window that let’s one peer into the bathroom!
