    This hotel is nice but a bit dated and needs renovations. For example the carpet was dirty and needs to be replaced. The rooms smelled a bit musty. And the elevators are very slow and small. But location is convenient and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would give it a solid 3.5 stars.

    The hotel is very worn down. Our bed was broken and kept making a cracking noise every time we sat on it. The carpet was filthy and the hallways had an unpleasant odor.

    I liked the staff and lobby is nice. I didn’t like the hallways how dark it is and the carpet was kinda dirty… also i dont like the lights that turn off by themselves in the room, i had to keep pressing them to turn on while im in the bathroom… the bed could be more comfortable and the pillows… the room is kind of dark… for the price paid per night i think it could be better accommodation

    The location was good for what I needed. It was only two blocks from where I needed to be. What I did not like about the property it was that the housekeeping wasn’t so great and the bathroom was clogged. It flooded my bathroom. Had to call maintenance which took forever. I was running late because of it and it was just an inconvenience on top of not having body wash HS was one thing after the other after the other I don’t know. I just didn’t feel like it was worth the money I paid for it. Most of the staff were very friendly and kind but I don’t think I’d stay there again.

    Location For what I paid, which was quite expensive, the hotel is not worth it. In the morning, it is noisy because the cleaning staff slam doors and speak loudly. Every time they slam a door in the nearby room or storage area, the pressure makes the door of my room feel as if it is opening. Big problem on the door. I also found a long hair on the bed as soon as I entered the room. The reception staff is very kind. However, they made a mistake and charged a reservation that should have been processed through a corporate booking to my personal card, which was only meant for the security deposit. The rooms, like most rooms in Manhattan, are tiny. Even staying alone, I found it difficult. I will not come back. Although the hotel is new, it is not worth it.

    I was impressed with every part of my stay. My room, the super-helpful staff, my breakfast at the restaurant and the very handy location. I have never stayed at an a.k.a. hotel previously, but if this one is indicative of the brand, I will seek them out.

    The location and the design of the hotel ( but please I was quite disappointed with our stay at AKA Nomad, especially because we had actually stayed at the same hotel twice during our trip. During the first leg of our stay, we were in rooms 310 and 617. Even then, we already experienced cleanliness issues. The rooms were noticeably dusty, and while room 617 had a small bathroom, it was still manageable. Unfortunately, for the second leg of our trip, we had already prepaid and could not cancel the booking. We returned for just one extra night on our way out of New York and were simply hoping the experience would not be worse than the first stay. Sadly, it clearly was. During the second leg, we stayed in rooms 710 and 907. In room 710, my colleagues found the bedsheets to be dirty. Room 907 was even more problematic. One thing that stood out throughout the hotel was how dim the corridors and rooms are. Combined with the cleanliness concerns, it made our group feel quite uneasy throughout the stay. Our room (907) had a very strong bleach/Clorox smell upon check-in. We were told that the smell would subside, so trusting this, we unpacked and went out for the evening. However, when we returned around 11pm, we noticed a strong smoke smell in the room and realised that the bleach/Clorox scent had likely been used to mask the cigarette smell. Once the chemical smell faded, the smoke odour became extremely strong and uncomfortable. When we raised the issue, the solution offered was a late checkout the next day. Unfortunately, that did not address the actual problem with the room, especially since we were not looking for compensation in the form of extra time as we simply wanted a clean and comfortable smoke-free room. The toilet layout in room 907 was also shockingly cramped. My partner could not properly use the toilet because there simply was not enough space around it. Even at 5’4” and under 50kg, I struggled with the space myself.

    Nice design, great lobby and bar. Excellent location. Divine toiletries, probably the best reason to stay at an AKA. I am a repeat AKA customer. Carpet needs deep cleaning, it’s badly stained. I love the moody lighting, but really it needs an option to turn on the “house” lights - I couldn’t see to pack! The room has a lot of black elements - unfortunately it gets knicked up easily, and it shows. Some light touch ups and it would go a long way.

    Great location, room was perfect size for NY...who's in their room that much. We chose a room with a balcony and it was awesome. Great city views and fun! The bed was so comfortable and I love the design of the room and bathroom. The soap was amazing. Only bad part was lack of hot water in the morning. We would've called but we were in a hurry and headed out without a shower. We did take the hotel survey after and informed them of this issue and they were very responsive. We would stay here again.

    Great staff, clean room but looks lived in. Stains on outdoor furniture. Stains on carpet. These things should be treated- But still somewhat felt really clean especially with modern decor. I would recommend a diffuser throughout the hotel to make it a bit more luxury. Had a bit of an old smell. Doing this would definitely make the experience more personable. Front desk staff was phenomenal but I was a bit confused with the amount of money spent here per night, door men were almost non existent. I got the door held open once lol and even times passed staff- this usually wouldn’t be something i complained about but I’ve been so used to that being the norm that when it was absent it was felt. Especially since we had so many bags. Also would be nice to send guest notice if roads will be blocked during their stay other than that good hotel - would stay again as a last min resort

    I liked the customer service. The staff was nice. The room service was decent. I liked the skewers and fries. I liked the view from my room, the temperature, the robes, and the safe was big enough to fit my work laptop. The shower pressure and temperature was nice. I was on the fence about texting my room service order and late check out request but I got used to it. I just prefer talking to someone. The elevator was broken so I had to take the stairs multiple times to not miss my ubers. The bathroom mirror was too dim for makeup and the shower would basically flood the entire bathroom. I had to use a bunch of towels to dry it up. They did bring me extra towels which was lovely.

    My room was dark. It was very hot, though the bed was comfortable I could not sleep. The thermostat could not be adjusted below 70 degrees, and the temperature in the room was 83. The body lotion bttle was empty and had not been replenished before my stay. People were friendly and helpful.

    I very much enjoyed my stay at AKA Nomad. I purposely booked a balcony room to be able to see the New York Nightlife and it was excellent. Even when my electric blind stopped working, they fixed it immediately. My only complaint is the room was QUITE small. Obviously I can't see the layout of the room when I book, but could tell by the fire escape map, our room was considerably smaller than all the rest. Would absolutely say again.... in a larger room. :)

    Spacious room by NYC standards, very clean and well appointed with wardrobe, shelf and drawer space. Particularly enjoyed the excellent rain shower and high-quality bath amenities. Friendly, helpful staff.     Spacious room by NYC standards, very clean and well appointed with wardrobe, shelf and drawer space. Particularly enjoyed the excellent rain shower and high-quality bath amenities. Friendly, helpful staff.     I really appreciated the staff. They were so kind, professional, and welcoming. From the front door security always offering us an umbrella and opening the door for us. Then Andy and the other gentleman whom his name is escaping me (african american man) were so kind. For a new york room, the size of the room was very good! The bathroom as well was so aesthetically pleasing and spacious. The walls are way too thin. We didn't sleep one night because the room next to us was having sex for hours... I was with my little sister on our birthday trip and this was so uncomfortable for us that even our noise cancellation didn't matter. I ended up banging the wall around 6am because this went from 11pm-7am. The rooms carpets and walls were also very stained.. I don;t know the last time the carpets were washed which was a bit uncomfortable to see stains everywhere.

    The room was unbearably hot. The hotel was locked in heat mode, and guests cannot adjust the temperature. If you like a cooler room, it’s not possible. We had to turn the system off and open the windows just to be comfortable, which is unacceptable for a hotel at this price point. The biggest issue was the plumbing. Both mornings of our two-day stay, the toilets and showers were clogged. Maintenance had to be called each day just so the shower would drain. On the second morning, this caused major disruption, prevented us from properly showering, and contributed to us missing our flight. Customer service was terrible. Even after speaking with a manager, nothing was offered to compensate for the repeated issues or to make our stay more comfortable. No accountability, no urgency, and no effort to make things right. At the very least, a complimentary night should have been offered. This was a short girls’ trip we were really looking forward to, and it was incredibly upsetting for it to be ruined by preventable issues and poor service. The only positive was the location, which was convenient. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again and do not recommend this hotel.

    Be careful! Stayed for 2 nights . Reserved thru Expedia , booked a double bed room . I was very disappointed and surprised when I got there . The room I was given had nothing to do with the ones pictured on the hotel site ! At $892 dollars the night !! My first double bed room ( ROOM 1015) had a small 2’x4’ window over the headboard, high up the wall making the room extremely claustrophobic. ( I was then changed to a king size bed room ) The pictures on the site all showed a big long window ! Cons : Very small rooms Bathroom was black tiled and very poor lighting Bathroom and room would fill with vapor from the hot shower water and the fire alarm would go off Bar lights were not working Nespresso machine had used pods on it One nice large full mirror , but located in the entrance with no lights. Pros: Clean and nice bed , pillows, linen and towels Very happy to have iron, iron board and steamer. Courteous and helpful doorman and receptionist. Well located if you want the broadway scene .

The room was of a good size with a wardrobe which can be a rarity in NY, comfy king bed as well as a window "sofa" and table. For a six night stay, it was sufficiently spacious. In-room amenities such as a Nespresso machine and a kettle, plus usual expensive items in the mini-bar which I did not consume. Generally the staff were friendly. At check-in they did not provide details of the VIP extra which was a drink for two at the bar, I had to ask, and I didn't benefit from an upgrade. I had supper on night in the bar / restaurant - a delicious turkey club sandwich with some truffle fries. Came to c. $40 including 18% service - not inexpensive but felt reasonable for the hotel and I enjoyed it. The resort fee which I know is standard in the U.S. was less palatable - $40 A DAY. For this, they provided two bottles of water upon check-in, no further bottles (to be fair they do note this upon check-in but seems very tight given the resort fee), six Nespresso capulses (three different flavours, I only drink decaf so after they had been used, no more) and wifi access. Other NY hotels that I have stayed in at least offered daily water and Nespresso capsules, a credit as part of the fee to be used in the bar / spa, or museum tickets, or other perks. Nothing here. It felt very cheap. I would not stay here again due to this which is a shame as I enjoyed my stay.

    Hotel did accommodate by switching us to another floor that the windows did open room was much cooler. They did this immediately and much bigger space. Just beware of the rooms on the 10th floor . Staff was very nice. Cleanliness was great.

    Excellent option for a stay in New York. The location is wonderful, in Midtown right on Madison Ave. the property is clean, updated, and beautiful. Staff is kind and service was great. Check in and check out were swift and easy. Bar also has great drinks. Would recommend this place for anyone.

    Super noisy! Noisy AC. Super noisy bed… cracked by even moving at night. Heavy doors slam hard without slowind down before closing making it impossible tomrest in the morning while housekeeping is working. Central park AKA was perfect. This one is nor worth staying

    Location is awesome! Be prepared to wait 15 min for the elevator it jumps around floors and fits two people and makes zero sense. The room smelled like rotting garbage/old broccoli while the lobby has a scent pumping through the air. The beds were very comfy but very squeaky. I unfortunately don’t think I’d stay here again because of those things which sucks because it was a great location and the staff is very nice.

    The design of the room is very modern. But a few problems with the staff, what I would describe as low energy. Two requests to get the clean cups for minibar and one staff member saying Nespresso pods were not his responsibility and then the front desk telling me they.. Charge for more Nespresso cups, only one days worth for a 3 days,,,.. no hotel I stay at ever asked that....

    This was my second time booking a stay at this hotel and I was very disappointed to check into my room and find a massive cockroach in the bathroom. Management changed my room and placed me on a higher floor only to find ANOTHER cockroach in the other room as well. I had to cancel my stay and look for a new hotel the same day. I was really taken aback by management when their response to this issue was, "These are the kinks in New York City". I have been traveling to NY for years and have NEVER encountered this issue. Unfortunately, I will never book this hotel again. It's a beautiful property, but cleanliness does not align with what it represents.

    Room had dust bunnies around the ceiling edges meeting the wall that were not cleaned. Very dusty in general in room. Carpet in room requires wet cleaning. Part of the electric blind that covers the patio doors to the terrace were ripped at the bottom edge on the glass side. Windows were dirty, and the room was not sound proof as per advertised as we could hear the external air conditioning units when all doors and windows were closed. Terrace was nice and the gym was great. Just requires better level of cleaning and general maintenance in room.

    Excellent spot but having to ask for ice every time as there was no ice machine was a bit much. Also, our bedframe must have been cracked as it made noise every time you moved on it. The layout and design of the bathroom was nice but the half glass door didn't make sense because the shower head was not deep enough for that style as the shower floor continually got wet. Other than that it was a very nice room.

    The rooms are incredibly small, lighting very bad & very little room to store clothes. Bottom drawer in closet does not even open due to the closet door track. Bathroom lighting pretty bad also. Our tour paper holder was broken so it kept getting in the way & even after the cleaning service left we had to call down for Tolit paper. The employees were exceptional & hotel was very clean. Unfortunately the door men talked us into taking a taxi to the airport to save money claiming it was way cheaper than our $60 uber & they know the taxi driver and they work a good deal for us. As we arrived at the airport I was charged $80 plus tip. We will not be staying at this hotel again. It was not terrible in any means, there are alot of positives also.

    We stayed at hotel AKA for two nights and three full days. The hotel is located directly next to Koreatown so there are a lot of great Korean restaurant options within walking distance, including karaoke bars. Oscar Wilde was a beautiful late night spot within walking distance. Getting a taxi is easy and convenient because of the location. The staff at AKA is SO helpful. They are so kind and always were offering a helping hand. They allowed us to store our luggage upon checkout and called a taxi for us to head back to the train station. Complimentary water, a waterfall shower, and comfortable pillows. My only complaint because of the price point is that the hotel room was strictly set at AC only, without a heat option, and it would not let us put it below 68 or above 72. The window opened which was so nice to get fresh air, but closing it was so difficult as it’s very old and we woke up to the sound of horns honking. The TV has Netflix and is very large. Also, my biggest complaint is that they were knocking on our door constantly every morning at 9-9:30am. Once was someone asking if we needed anything in the mini bar restocked and another was the cleaning crew asking when we are checking out. The cleaning crew was even unlocking the door before I got the chance to get up to answer it. The bathroom lighting was probably the worst I’ve ever seen. The mirror is LED with lights inside of it but doing makeup with bright natural lighting was impossible here.

    I had a horrible stay at this hotel. I do not recommend staying here. I chose this hotel partially because of the high reviews but was extremely disappointed. The hotel rooms are small and dull with little natural light or space and the elevators take forever. There are only 2 elevators and are extremely crammed and it takes 10+ minutes to get to and from your room just waiting. The elevators are normally stuffed to the brim with some aggressive staff member lugging an unpleasant cart. The staff members are probably the worst part and barged in numerous times during my stay. They forgot coffee and they forgot cups and they tried to barge in for service without knocking even when they had plenty of time otherwise. This is probably a 3 star hotel not a 4 star. Do yourself favor and choose someplace else. Horrific and annoying and irritating. I could give this zero stars if I could and this comes from someone who stays frequently in luxury properties for travel, four and five star only. Weird and creepy staff and incompetent doormen.

    I loved the small boutique hotel vibe with all the convenience of being in NoMad, walking distance to parks and close to the subway. The rooms are well appointed and stylish, but the bathrooms are ridiculously small with absolutely no room to put anything. You could throw your back out trying to get to the TP! But the real issue was the AC not working, the promise of engineers coming to fix it along with the promise of waiving the destination fee from our bill, neither of which happened, and we had to dispute the bill. Talk about not feeling cared for.

    I stayed here on my own visiting one of my children who lives in NY. Check in was fast and professional. The room was cosy and contemporary super sound proofed and had everything you could need. The bed was really comfortable. The only negatives were that the lighting/switches were overly complicated and Valet parking was a disaster. But.. I will definately stay here again.
