    The rooms were clean ​Dear Booking.com Customer Support, ​I am writing to formally lodge a serious complaint regarding my recent booking at Holiday Inn Manhattan for the dates June 7, 2026, to June 10, 2026. ​Booking.com failed to ensure that my confirmed reservation was honored, resulting in severe distress, financial loss, and a completely ruined initial experience. ​The details of the incident are as follows: ​Unilateral Cancellation Despite Confirmation: I received an official confirmation email from Booking.com on June 6, just one day prior to our arrival. However, when we arrived at the Holiday Inn Manhattan on June 7, the front desk informed us that they did not recognize the booking and that it had been cancelled. No prior notification or warning was ever sent by Booking.com. ​Gross Misrepresentation of Amenities (First Night): After an exhausting dispute, the hotel finally acknowledged an error but forced us into a substandard room for the night of June 7. Although we explicitly booked and paid for a room with two separate beds, we were forced to share a single small bed, causing extreme discomfort. ​Logistical Disruption: We were forced to pack up and relocate to a different room for the remaining two nights (June 8 and June 9), wasting valuable time from our trip. ​Prepaid Services Not Rendered: Our Booking.com package explicitly included daily breakfast for all three days of our stay. The hotel failed to provide us with breakfast on any of the days, despite the fact that it was paid for in full through your platform. ​As the platform through which this transaction was made, Booking.com is contractually responsible for the services sold. Sending a confirmation email 24 hours before arrival and allowing a hotel to deny accommodation is a major breach of customer trust and consumer standards. ​Therefore, I demand from Booking.com: ​A substantial financial refund for the severe downgrade of our first night. ​A full refund for the prepaid breakfasts that were never provided.

    OK but nothing great except the location We stayed at 3 IHG properties back to back in Newark, Pittsburgh, and this one in Manhattan. The first two were quite good but this one was a distant third (the room not as inviting or scrubbed clean), also much smaller though the size is to be expected in Manhattan.

    Clean room. Breakfast was a nice feature. HUGE issue with the elevators. The desk told us we could call them when checking out and they would assist us with the elevators as we had large bags. We called 15 minutes ahead and they told us to call back when ready. So we called 15 minutes later and after a 20 minute wait called back. They then informed us that they couldn’t assist us. So we had to carry our large heavy bags down the stairs. Luckily we were on the 5th floor. So if you are traveling with large bags, avoid this hotel.

    The location was amazing. The bed was extremely comfortable. The staff was really nice and helpful every time we need them. We never had any issue with the lift as mentioned on other reviews. We got a room facing the back of the building, while the views were not nice we didn’t care really as this make the room super quite and comfortable. The bathroom was a bit old dated but not a big problem

    Perfect location, good bed and room No fridge in the room. Parking specifications should be sent out to clients before checking in. Otherwise while arriving you may find your self trying to park wherever and perhaps wasting money, when the hotel has partnered with better options to park nearby.

    The location The room was absolutely tiny, we couldn’t open our suitcases on the floor it was so small and there was hardly any wardrobe space to unpack. The bathroom was dirty, the lobby was a mess and had random junk everywhere, the “outdoor seating bar area” had scaffolding above it making it dark and dingy, the lift is incredibly slow - we had to wait 10 minutes for our lift one time. The walls are like paper so when we were trying to sleep we could hear people in the corridors. The shower would take 10 minutes at least for the water to heat up and it was so weak.

    The location After leaving the hotel I discovered I had been charged twice on my credit card for the last night of my stay (as had my friends ) who were staying in the hotel.) Despite trying to phone the hotel (my call was cut off) and e-mailing the general manager Mr R.Walker I have yet to receive the courtesy of a reply and the overcharge has yet to be recredited to my account. It is totally unacceptable that the holiday inn Manhatten double charged me for part of my stay in the first place and totally beyond believe that despite an e-mail and a follow up e-mail to the general manager Mr R.Walker no reply has been sent to me and no steps as yet have been taken to resolve the matter. How can a hotel think it is acceptable to take approximately another circa $500 in error from someone’s credit card account and totally ignore e-mails pointing this out is beyond me. People should think twice about giving their credit card details to the Holiday inn if they are to be abused in such a way and there is a total lack of urgency to resolve the matter

    Everything as it was perfectly placed for the station and central New York! The very rude lady that checked us in at about 3pm, the morning lady who made sure our bags were looked after so we could visit New York was lovely as were the restaurant staff and cleaning team but the lady at 3pm who was wearing scruffy jeans and green t-shirt and spoke to her colleague as if he was a toddler who knew nothing was horrible! Even kept telling me that I hadn’t paid when I had! Absolutely disgusting!

We stayed 2 nights, and our first room was on one of the lower floors, facing the (city noisy) street, and about 6 feet from the elevator. Inconveniently loud. We were able to change to a much quieter room thanks to the reception staff, who were delightful. Our new room even afforded a view of One World Trade Center in the distance. Cool.

    Convenient location in midtown. Very cramped bathroom. Indifferent staff - our room had been cancelled by the hotel which we only found out on arrival. This was not ideal having travelled from the UK. The receptionist was impassive and although able to reinstate the booking, did not offer any apology or reassurance while doing so. We did not end up with the city view rooms we booked and instead were located on 9th floor with no view. There was never any explanation given as to why the original booking had been cancelled.

    Thanks to holiday and their staff. Cannot say enough of how welcoming and accommodating they were. They had no issues with holding our bags. The ladies at the front desk are extremely nice and supportive. The gentleman helping with tracking your bags and even the building engineer all very attentive. Even though they are under renovation and there is construction stuff in front of the hotel, the team still makes it a point to make you feel comfortable. Very grateful. Thanks holiday manhattan.

    Booked a double full bed room with Expedia a month ahead and got to the property late at night in NYC to be sold all they had was one King bed that was NOT a king bed. There were three of us and it wasn’t going to work. The lady that helped us was nice to speak with but did nothing to try to fix the problem and instead said we can pay $304 more for another room of call Expedia, it was 12 PM. She offered a free breakfast the next day and basically said there’s nothing she can do and they were booked up. I booked about a month or two in advance and they day we left I also called the property to let them know we will be checking in late as we had a late flight. This was a terrible experience.

    I had a wonderful stay at this Holiday Inn in Chelsea. I stayed for over a week, the staff was very friendly. The service was great. The location was awesome, I will definitely stay here again.     The location is spot on, the room was clean and the staff was nice and helpful. Not the best but good vfm. Very comfortable bads but too Short. We ask and got a small fridge and it was great. Nice coffee machine. The shower was bad, one night there was no hot water, other nights the water was way to hot, too hot to shower, dusent make sense. Elevator took forever and not working well.

    I love coming here, I love the staff and everyone is amazing and the room doesn't disappoint <3 Seems like the check in is now 21+ but ive always been able to get in at 18+ so im not gonna be able to stay here anymore unfortunately, I dont understand why as a 19yr whose been to this hotel a crap ton already (since 2024), and has put so much money staying here just suddenly cant. When did the age restrictions change???

    The location is perfect—very close to several subway stations, making it easy to get around Manhattan, yet surprisingly quiet at night, so we slept very well. Breakfast was also good and convenient, a nice way to start the day before exploring the city. The staff were very friendly. We left our luggage for a few more hours at the reception after checking out our room. Overall, it was a comfortable, clean, and well-located hotel. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it, especially for families or travelers looking for convenience and comfort in NYC.

    The property was falsely advertised—breakfast was listed as included, but we were told it would cost $29 per day. We chose this hotel specifically to save on food, so this was extremely disappointing. There are only two elevators for a 20+ floor building, causing long wait times. The room was nothing like advertised, with a window facing a brick wall and alley. The walls were paper-thin, the bathroom door wouldn’t close, and there was no ventilation, making the room uncomfortable and lacking privacy. The only positive was the location. We checked out early and moved to another hotel. I would not recommend this property.

Only two Elevators available and they are very small elevator for 25 floors and you had to wait for long periods of time to get on the elevators. Rooms are so closes you could hear peoples conversations, do not have noise control or etiquette… do not have consideration and throw doors so hard that you cannot rest. Would not stay in this specific IHG ….

    We stayed 10 nights and had a really good time. The staff were very friendly and helpful. As the hotel is in a busy area, there is traffic noise through out the night. If you want quiet you may be better off asking for a room at the back. We didn't mind and could enjoy the street view instead. There are only two lifts/elevators, but we never waited more than a few minutes to access them. All in all we had a good time and would stay here again.

    It was a great location, staff was friendly, a lil disappointed that the view was not on the side of Empire State Building but of the Freedom tower. Still an excellent view. I must have misread that this location had a pool that was a bummer but received an upgrade to a higher floor which was better since we were so busy sightseeing. Definitely staying here again.

    The room was small but comparable to others in large cities. It only has 2 elevators and cleaning staff also use it so there are delays waiting for elevators. No onsite parking - but a secure garage is nearby. Breakfast not included but a buffet breakfast was available. These are also common with large city hotels but we often frequent hotels in smaller cities that include parking and breakfast - we just need to change expectations. We had a high level room and a wonderful view of Empire State Building. We loved the location - close enough to subway, lots of food options, we walked to Times Square. The area felt safe enough but we were a larger group and not usually out too late.

    We checked in on Wednesday morning we checked out tuedsay 12pm. -tea bags not replenished once. Black tea ran out and never was replaced after Thursday morning. When i asked the front desk on thursday morning, staff at the front desk proceeded to remove the complimentary tea because it wasnt suppose to be out yet, i guess. I didnt get an answer nor was it ever replenished my entire visit. -water in lobby was iced only about 65% of the time(its was above 90° most of the time there) -ice on 15th and 4th floors, i understand NY buildings are old and ammeneties are sparce, these areas should be better. More attention to them, especially since most rooms dont have refrigerators, guest use these areas alot. Towels on floor is a bandage not a solution.

    Parking was my issue. It is offsite parking and is not owned by the Holiday Inn. The parking staff was rude, and even spoke in spanish saying thing like we park Rolls Royces and my car is nothing. Also in spanish stating I dont tip which is false. Tips are a reward of good service. Smile, be curtious, and accomidation not rude

    Walking distance to Empire State Building. Neat and clean place. Subway is few blocks away, to go around city. Everything we did was close to around 15 minutes or less from hotel. Walked around at night. No issues. Has food places in the neighborhood. Dunkin is few steps down if you run on Dunkin. Has a busy Gelato place at the end of the street. Standing in big line is worth it. Loved the view of Empire State from the room.

    There is no way to feasibly condense the events into 1500 characters or less. But ultimately we missed time with friends during a joyous occasion all to get bullied, harassed, and threatened despite following IHG direction. Time and time again at this hotel, we were miscommunicated to, disrespected, asked for unreasonable requests during a holiday, gaslit about their communications, and then blatantly lied to. General management not once reached out to us when the request came through various mediums, including their own corporate guest relations staff. Never, have I ever been threatened, bullied, made to feel less than, and disrespected as a guest of a hotel.

    The room is TIGHT if you are traveling with the family. We weren't in our room much and it's a good thing. The elevators are slow, there is not a fridge or microwave in room. The ice machines are only on certain floors. This room was sufficient for the couple of days we were there.

    The staff was friendly and welcoming, but the rooms were quite small, with limited space to move around—especially in the bathroom and bedroom areas. Unfortunately, housekeeping did not service our room on the final night of our stay, even though we were out for most of the day. When we returned in the evening and called the front desk, we were handed blankets and sheets to make the bed ourselves, which was disappointing. Overall, while the stay was okay, it didn’t feel like it matched the price we paid.

    The elevator was definitely old. One time it stopped on every floor. You can hear it creak going up and down in your room. No sound proof rooms. Other guests weren’t happy. Definitely go somewhere else.

    Was checked in by Destiny, that was the one who checked me in the previous visit. Same great service. Easy check in, Destiny was excellent. She was welcoming and greeted you by name when you left and returned to the hotel. Was very pleased with the service will return for another stay.

    The neighborhood has come a long way over the years! Great shopping, near several train options including the PATH, subway, Penn station, Walking distance to time square or Chelsea. The hotel was tiny but had what we needed! Clean, great views, staff was absolutely fantastic and so friendly. Only complaints- make sure there is enough toilet paper and towels when there is room service. I wish they had the ability to serve food or at least small necessities. Otherwise we loved it and we slept like babies!! We stayed for 7 days!!
