Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating the cleanliness, comfortable beds, and friendly staff. However, the small room size, slow elevators, and crowded breakfast area are frequently mentioned issues. The location is generally praised for its proximity to attractions, but some guests find it noisy and unsafe.

Nice hotel in a quiet location, 15 mins walk to Times Square , breakfast was a good bonus but very busy and not a large seating area , the outside seating area was been renovated so out of use , I would use this hotel as was comfortable had everything you needed , and was a good price

The beds are really comfy and all was clean. All in the room was too noisy (A/C, freezer, other rooms near us…). To use the elevator we have to wait 5 to 10 minutes. Reception desk was disorganized.

Paid for queen bed room, upon arrival i was told they have last room with 2 smaller beds, even worse, this room was next to main reception/lobby so you hear a lot of noise from there. every loder noise can wake room tenants up. Room was clean, all working fine inside, hotel staff very helpful.

breakfast and location was excellent and price, for the location All the rats running around in front of the building at night. Shockingly disgusting. Possibly increased due to some construction. The elevators were too slow or too few. We were on the 7th floor and debated every time about simply taking the stairs.

Parking garage info on actual hotel website. Easy and efficient. Disappointed that breakfast started at 7am on weekends. We had to be out the door at 7am for an event. Overall, great stay. Safe neighborhood. Would stay again.

- 2/5
Disappointing stay and I have stayed here before. I called at around noon to say I was leaving and needed my room cleaned. I returned 4 hours later. Room was still not cleaned. It should not take till 4pm to get your room cleaned. The breakfast offerings were of a poor quality. Not apetizing at all. The elevators were always full and took forever to come to my floor. I chose the stairs many times. Last but not least. Not once but twice while once leaving and then returning to my hotel there was a big, fat, rat at the entrance to the hotel. I did mention this to the front desk staff. You have a rat problem. Its not a good look. Put out traps or something. Again disappointing all around. Mr. Garner
- 2/5
We stay five days and only clean the room one time . We ask for Clean towels and they didn't have any. At the lobby there were big rats
- 3/5
One concern was the placement of the trash bins at the front of the property. It would be beneficial if they were located in a less visible area or secured more effectively to maintain the hotel's appearance. The guest rooms were somewhat small but generally well-equipped with most essential amenities. However, a microwave in the room would have been a welcome addition. The complimentary breakfast was excellent, offering a good variety of options. Unfortunately, the breakfast area was quite small and often overcrowded during peak hours. The hotel is currently expanding the dining space as part of the renovation project, which should improve the guest experience once completed, although I was not informed of the expected opening date. One of the hotel's strongest features is its excellent location in Hell's Kitchen. It is within walking distance of Times Square, the Intrepid Museum, numerous restaurants, and other popular attractions. The nearest subway station is approximately a 13-minute walk away, making it convenient to explore other parts of New York City.

The room was clean. The view was great. Plenty of hot water. The breakfast could have been hotter and the milk was spoiling in the pitchers.
- 4/5
The breakfast was good, it was replenished frequently. The choice was big but was sufficient. The dining area wasn't big enough for the amount of guests. It was very crowded, no matter what time we tried.
- 1/5
We called the hotel from the airport to let them know that we would be checking in late, and they said that they had cancelled our reservation after there was a problem with our credit card and we didn't respond when they notified us. I have diligently searched and the only communications I can find are notes from Expedia welcoming us to the hotel; and while there could have been some temporary glitch with my credit card, I used it to pay for everything else on our trip (including the replacement hotel we had to book last minute at great expense) and there were no issues. Frankly we suspect they were over booked and just decided to make us suffer for their error. Certainly never going to book that hotel again, and I will probably avoid Expedia as much as possible in future as well if I can't rely on a confirmed booking being... confirmed.

Everything was clean, good and walking distance to the Times Square. Breakfast was also not bad. A little bit crowded.

- 5/5
The room was clean and perfectly comfortable, though a little on the smaller side. Breakfast can get quite busy, so it's worth arriving early if you prefer a quieter start to the day. The staff were genuinely helpful throughout our stay. As for the location, it's a great choice if you're looking to escape the chaos of Times Square while still being close to it.

The main issue I have with this hotel is the fact that there was construction going on when we stayed there. The lifts were cramped and the room had a terrible view. I stayed there as it was close to my daughter's place. That street itself doesn't have any nice coffee shops or restaurants. You have to walk a few blocks for nice places to hang out. The staff were fine but the hotel was really not great for the price one pays in NYC. It is not particularly close to any of the major attractions. You have to walk a bit to get anywhere. Also, the lobby area is tiny. The high point was the breakfast. They had a decent breakfast in the mornings. The other good thing is they have an ATM inside the hotel. I guess one would stay here for proximity to something - either a place of work or a private residence. The hotel could become better after the revamp is over. 1. Construction 2. Tiny Lobby and cramped lift 3. Basic room 4. No view

Breakfast was much better than people said in the reviews: different options and well-serviced. Location was good for my needs (in the middle of Penn Station and Central Park), especially if you enjoy walking like me :-) The staff was extremely kind and went out of their way to help -I hope they are paid handsomely for doing such an excellent job! The only problem was indoor noise: people shouting and slamming doors. I also would have enjoyed better lighting inside my hotel room, since I was in New York for work. The elevators were slow -which wasn't an issue for me, but could be for others.

Don't stay here!!! Didn't get the room we paid for. So much construction going on. No gym to work out in. Food area was closed, they used a room for this and a room for people to eat in. No waiting area. If I could give them 0 stars I would. Our view was of a court yard with trash and old furniture pilded up and lots of weeds. This was the same view when you went to the room to eat as well.
- 3/5
Location was great, easy to move everywhere We stayed during renovations and there was dust and noise, we couldn’t eat comfortable because of the dust and also there was an incident the fire alarm made us evacuate and one of my family was partially injured during the process
- 3/5
We were very disappointed that construction was going on in the main floor, new floor tiles were being installed throughout the main floor causing a bit of chaos throughout and the dining area was closed. I do think they should’ve closed the hotel for a few days while construction was going on. The walls between the rooms were thin as we could always hear the neighbouring room open their blinds in the early morning. It was very loud. The one good thing was a gentleman that worked with the breakfast in the morning. He was an older black man and he was kind and a very hard worker. I will probably not stay at this hotel again
- 5/5
I had a great stay .
- 2/5
Aside from a lot of renovations happening this is still the worst Holiday Inn Express I’ve ever been. In every category it fails, I wouldn’t know where to begin. I’ll attach a photo of all the food including perishables and frozen meat that sat in the hallway of the elevators for over an hour. I know because I saw it on the way up and my way back down an hour later.

Property was under construction. We were not told before our arrival. Breakfast was a horrible mess, the pool was closed, the lobby was under construction, and the feeling was not one of relaxation, caring, calmness, quiet, or profession. Our blinds would not stay shut (so the room was not dark), the shower head was not in working order. Worst stay of any in my 66 years of life.

The hotel lobby and breakfast area were literally being demolished while we were getting and eating breakfast on the 2nd day. Old tile was being jackhammered with no warning or mention to us ahead of our arrival even when the manager messaged me before our stay. Breakfast was okay, but chaotic as they used the gym and guest rooms on the first floor for dining during construction. There was construction dust everywhere. I wish i would not have paid closer attention to location, as the nearest subway station is .8 miles away, and with 4 suitcases, it was rough getting there.
- 3/5
Cons: 1) Our room was on the 2nd floor and our window was overlooking the garbage area. 2) There was also A LOT of construction work being completed in the lobby during breakfast hours, which made it loud and very busy. Overall, a decent stay for one night.
- 3/5

For breakfast, most of the food was preprepared but ok. The staff was friendly and problem solving. The seating was limited as the hotel was full and undergoing renovation. As two beds were placed in a small room, one side of both beds faced the wall.

Vic was amazing. They are doing some upgrades but are working quick! Breakfast was good. Elevator is slower in the morning because of the traffic to breakfast. But overall great stay in a great location

Proximity to what we came to see. Service was ok, not outstanding by any means. The room wasn’t super clean, just ok. You could tell how old the property was. But, we knew going into Manhattan would be hard to find a reasonable rate for a great place.

I was in town to see a show at Terminal 5 and this spot was extremely convenient. They were able to hold my bag for me before checkin, which was a huge help for me. The room was entirely comfortable, but I did notice the blinds were a little torn up, the alarm clock was 45 minutes fast, and there was some garbage on the hvac machine’s vents. I wouldn’t say any of that was a dealbreaker for me, but it makes you wonder what other corners they’re cutting.

There is little fridge but also needs updating. The room itself is a little narrow, can’t move freely. Our AC wasn’t operating at time we’re inside have to call hotel operator for maintenance. Elevators are also old but operable. Vending machines are okay but nothing convenient. There is one little microwave oven like college kid uses at the breakfast room. If you only stay for one day here then it’s okay. There’s still construction going on In front and some inside. Otherwise, the daily room cleaning is good and daily free breakfast is also good. Wouldn’t not recommend if you’re after modern amenities.

Room was clean, some things the staff couldn’t answer questions about the area, breakfast may have been good but couldn’t eat because there wasn’t anything available when I went down there, they are working on the outside so they need better signs that it is actually a holiday inn, lobby was a mess.
- 3.5/5
The staff was friendly, and the location was good. Based on the price I paid, we were directly next to the elevator, which was very lousy because I think the hotel may have been close to booked. The window in the bedroom would not actually close all the way, and it wasn’t too late at night that I realized why it was so noisy. So I didn’t call me. The tap in the sink kept leaking so I did tell the front desk that and had to get someone to reconnect the cable in the back of the TV as it wasn’t working either.

It's noy my card, it's not my bank, it's the HOTELS bank & I've repeatedly had to have the manager write a letter for MY bank to submit to the HOTELS bank so they will release my funds back to me. The manager has been told multiple times it's a problem with the hotels bank & she's done nothing, not even remotely addressing the issue. I was staying here 2-3 times a month & I've had to stop staying there because of this. If I stay 2-3 times a month that means anywhere from $150-$250 of my money will be held indefinitely because of the trips monthly overlap timeframe I've been staying 1-2 nights / 2-3 times a month off & on since 2024 & I've spent almost $7k at this hotel doing that. And I'm being told by the manager that if I don't want to use my card for a deposit I can leave a cash deposit. The cash deposit is a lot of $$ which means I have to have a lot of lose cash money on the side always because of the frequency of my past visits Soooo I'm being punished because there's a problem on the hotels side & she's not taking care of it ... Not fixing it. Great customer service... Customer service isn't just about smiles & greetings it's more importantly about how staff handle problems when they arise ... I'm not impressed & now I don't want to go back there

Included breakfast was a huge plus! Friendly and helpful staff, clean room, couldn't have asked for more really :)
- 3/5
The room was decently clean but the state of the rest of the building was concerning. We weren’t notified there would be construction of the building going on that you could hear at 7 am. Was directed to the gym facilities to find any water, found an old empty dirty water drum. For the money I was spending I was expecting a little easier of a time with our stay.
- 1/5
Nothing it was covered in scaffolding hard to find, overcrowded and filled with construction above and below me and outside The fitness center was mostly dirty and broken A set of 2 pair leggings were stolen from my belongings while I was out of the room for a few hrs. The breakfast was ravaged by the huge school kids group whom were lined up thru the lobby the entire time. The quiet hours were not even acknowledged I was woken up 5x by guests in the hallway slamming doors. The vending machine on the floor was sold out. I had to search for a operating one with water in it from floor to floor and there was constant construction both above me below me and outside even though upon checking in I was assured I was on the top floor. No sleep just little cat naps between disasters. The heater in the room was completely off and since the staff had called me back screaming and accusing me of being rude the evening before there was no way I was letting them in alone the second evening. To only be credited one night is ridiculous and the entire staff should be ashamed of themselves for how poorly they treated the hotel and guests
- 0.5/5
There was ongoing construction and we were not informed when we booked. Also very noisy young kids running the halls late at night.
- 5/5
Perfect location if you are embarking a cruise ship - less than 10 minute walk - only 15 minute walk to Times Square - breakfast was included and was surprisingly good - coffee was fresh and lots of food options

Staff was nice and welcoming I booked a room for 3 people but the sofa bed available in the was the worst ever! I couldn’t even open it because there wasn’t enough room!! (See picture) so they sent someone to help and they literally had to REARRANGE the whole entire room, move ALL the furniture around just to open it. You cannot advertise this room for 3 people, the space is ridiculous!! The mattress was too thin and I could feel the springs during the night, I could barely sleep. Also, there was a big school group in our floor and they were extremely loud even on quiet hours. They were extremely disturbing after midnight, waking up me and family that came from Brazil for the first time, definitely not a great experience in NYC. I don’t understand why they couldn’t put us in a different floor if there was such a big (loud) group together. Definitely too expensive for this poorly experience. I’ve stayed in multiple (cheaper) hotels in NYC before and this one was by far the worst! I would not recommend this place and I’ll never stay there again!
- 1/5
I was extremely disappointed with the “breakfast buffet” offered during my stay. To be honest, calling it a buffet is misleading. Both mornings I went down expecting a decent variety of options, but instead found the area nearly empty. There was no juice available at all, which is a basic expectation for any hotel breakfast. Even more surprising, there were only about three food items to choose from—and those options were unappealing and poorly presented. The selection felt more like an afterthought than a service for guests. Overall, the breakfast experience lacked variety, quality, and any sense of care. It certainly did not live up to what most people would expect from a hotel buffet. I would strongly recommend the hotel either improving this offering or being more transparent about what guests can expect. The hotel was in the middle of renovation and this was happening as early as 7 am on our second morning of our stay. This greatly affected our sleep as we prepared to drive 8 hours home! None of the drink machines were working, the elevators were slow, and the hotel is across the street from a homeless shelter.

Lastly is was spring break here which I wasn’t aware so many kids and the constant yelling and slamming me doors so no sleeping in says it all

- 3/5
My family & I stayed for one night to see a show on the West side. I chose this place for the location but also based on my past satisfaction with Holiday Inn Express. I love their breakfast buffets & reliable standards. This location however had small rooms which we expected for NYC, but there was also a large swath of mold in the bathroom, and even worse, the breakfast area was a madhouse. It was mobbed with people crammed into a very small space grabbing at the scant bit of food available. There was no waffle iron nor pancake machine. It was sad, premade pancakes in a buffet pan, anemic sausage, oddly seasoned, dry eggs, one type of cereal, and one pastry. I’d suggest staying at the HI on Times Square despite the higher price tag & no breakfast included. This one wasn’t worth $350/night.
- 3/5
Cleaning staff never greeted you. Room smaller than expected or published online. There were 4 milk bottles in breakfast time, all sour, I had to complain and someone had me try one by one, all of them sour. Why she didn't try for me?
- 5/5
The room was very clean and staff were friendly. They also stored baggage before and after our stay, free of charge, which was very convenient. Would love to stay here again if I am back in NYC.
- 3/5
Rooms were clean. Staff aren't friendly. Location is not the best. A rehab is directly across the street and homeless use the sidewalk as a restroom.
- 5/5
Yes indeed everything was great
- 4/5
Breakfast was slightly overwhelming. Just not enough space to accommodate the amount of guests. Food was what I expected for a continental breakfast included in stay. Bed was comfortable. Waiting for the elevator took awhile most of the time. Took the stairs a lot.
- 2/5
Loud sanding machines & vacuum cleaners. Dust blowing under the door into our room, all over our belongings. Plus inhaling all the dust, horrible.
- 3/5
--- Breakfast was just as I expected—basic but convenient, and always replenished. On the downside, our toilet was quite loud, running 24/7 and going off about every 15 minutes. The elevators were pretty small and really slow. At one point, one of them was out of service during breakfast, which meant I got a little workout climbing the stairs most trips. The maintenance guy was really friendly despite the toilet issue not being fixed. Our room was small, but the location was excellent. However, the walls were quite thin, so we heard a lot from the neighbors. Being close to the elevator meant we caught all the noise in the hallway, especially late at night when things were still buzzing until 2-3 AM and 6:30-10:30 breakfast rush. Also, the building construction was pretty disruptive. There was a lot of banging and noise from 8 AM as they were moving cement. Overall, it was a mixed experience, but there were definitely some ups and downs!

AC worked great. Breakfast was nightmare. Mainly from the amount of guests. It was hard for staff to keep up and not enough room for the amount of ppl that were eating.
- 1/5
I can say that breakfast was warm. Food is simple after trays are empty, they take longer time to replace them. Tables and chairs were a few for the high number of people who have breakfast. At night, they had to make repairs in the small area for breakfast, the ceiling had leaking problems. The hotel did not have the room requested (which they got paid in advance) They made us sleep in a tiny room that only had one bed for a party of three. They offered air bed that punctures that made us have a terrible night, when we noticed my son was sleeping on the floor. The faucet in the bathroom leaked and they didn't do anything to solve the problem in the 4 nights we were there.

My recent Holiday Inn stay was extremely disappointing. Despite confirming reservation changes, check-in was delayed, and I was incorrectly charged for an extra night. The refund process was frustrating. Room maintenance issues and consistently rude staff, especially during breakfast, made the experience unacceptable for a long-time IHG member.

- 3/5
We didn’t get to check in until well after our time. Staff didn’t seem to care. The elevator was the only way to our room & they sucked. Tooook so long. They didn’t have like any room for Waitimg or outside seating. Other than location not much there. Breakfast was 6/10.
- 4/5
The staff were super friendly!
- 3/5
Need a better elevator. So slow and sometimes door wouldn’t close.
- 4/5
Very clean rooms and comfortable beds. The staff worked really hard- super kind and helpful. It was a short walk to great food and to Times Square. The only negatives were that our tv didn’t work and the breakfast area was very crowded.

I loved
- 3/5
Room was clean but a little small. My first night there i was upset becaise I was on the 1st floor and it was so loud all night. I stayed in room 113 that was literally next to the kitchen, elevators, and lobby. I was hearing pots and pans all night and the staff talking plus when i called the front desk, i could hear the lobbys phone ringing from my room! I got moved the next day to the 2nd floor.
- 5/5
Short walk to Times Square. Friendly staff. Go early for breakfast though, selection dwindles when it gets busy later.

all good

Slowest elevators known to man. Breakfast was chaos and they run out of things very quickly. Can hear everything in the hallways at night. Sink didn't drain properly

Room was tidy, decent location, and the staff on reception were brilliant. However, on day of departure, I had a long day ahead, and check out time wasn't till 11:00, so I wanted a bit of a lie in, but I had at least three knocks on the door from people wanting to come and tidy the room. Not ideal at all.

To make matters worse, when we arrived at night, one of the workers asked us for our room key in order to open the door, leaving us standing outside in the cold. This situation felt unprofessional and unsafe. This was a very disappointing experience, and I would not stay at this hotel again.

I chose this hotel because it was tied to a great airfare pkg. The room was clean, the staff I encountered was friendly but the negative reviews regarding noise, elevators, breakfast, and the windows I read prior to my visit were accurate. First off, I stayed on the 8th floor and the windows were absolutely filthy - bummer because the view was great. I know it's challenging keeping them clean but these haven't been cleaned in ages. Noise - the room doors are like paper with a big floor gap so you hear everything happening in the hallway. Elevators - there are 2 banks but only one works - barely. I stayed 4 days and not once did I have a wait less than 10-15 mins - each time the door opened it was full. I even just walked down the 8 flights because I had to be somewhere. Not fun. Breakfast. Honestly, the food options were decent and the amount seemed to try and keep up but the amount of guests vs the size of the dining space is not OK. Packed like sardines and people acting like this would be the only meal they were having all day - families taking PLATES and PLATES overflowing with bacon and sausage at one time. Not cool. Again, never had a chance to eat down there due to lack of room - even at 7am. Ate once in my room. If you're on a budget ok or like me, a former NYer who was just in town for a quick visit, but you may want to rethink if you want a better experience closer to things. This place is way over almost to 11th Avenue so it's about 10-15 min walk to the subway.

HORRIBLE STAY - do NOT stay here ! Hotel room was dirty - elevators stopped working multiple times - myself and a family member got stuck inside elevators at different times - overheard multiple guests complaining that they got stuck as well. Unprofessional staff members and lack of management staff. Breakfast was awful and there isn’t sufficient seating- very chaotic. Worst hotel stay ever !!
- 4/5
Centric area, easy to get around. Clean and good breakfast options. Did not give it a better review because the heater was not working well and it was very cold at times.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and informative. The only down side was the dining area for breakfast was very crowded. Food choice was just average. Hotel was within walking distance to a lot of tourist sights.
- 4/5
The place was very nice. Just the breakfast not the best and not variety
- 5/5
Clean rooms. Good location
- 1/5
Room small, couldn’t get additional towels, got stuck in the elevator
- 5/5
Staff was nice, room was cleaned by housekeeping daily, only complaint is that for the price you pay to stay here it is the smallest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in
- 5/5
Breakfast excellent, Coffee excellent, A/C excellent, Staff excellent, Water Pressure Excellent Convenient access to Public Transportation and entry and Exit of Manhattan
- 3/5
Room was very small and had a funny smell but besides that it was clean, friendly staff and great location
- 4/5
The Cinnamon Rolls are great!
- 5/5
The room was clean and staff were very welcoming and helpful at all times. Every time we left our room and came back, the beds were made and room cleaned, including new towels. The food was always warmed and supplied and clean.
- 5/5
I liked the service. Our housekeeping , Eveling, was the best; thank you for taking such good care of our room. The breakfasts were varied and fresh.
- 4/5
The room was clean, great staff, very accommodating. I originally booked 1 room with 2 beds but when we got there the room was unavailable so they gave us 2 rooms instead. Would've been nice to have gotten a heads up but overall it was nice
- 5/5
Room & overall hotel was very clean. Room is small but that's to be expected in NYC. Breakfast buffet had a lot of options & staff worked hard to keep items refilled. Great location for walking to attractions & access to public transport.
- 5/5
Staff was nice, amenities were also nice
- 5/5
Everything was fantastic ! I only have one thing to say that is meant to help and not hurt. The shower was filling up the bathtub when we used it. The plumbing must need some work
- 4/5
Room was clean except for 1 pillow that had a large coffee looking stain on it. And the construction going on in the hotel that was very noisy. We enjoyed the free breakfast as it was something different every morning. Would stay there again! Staff was friendly as well.
- 4/5
Todo bien
- 5/5

- 4/5
Room was great and serviced daily. Breakfast was nice and lots of choice however the layout and seating area are very small so made it quite a challenging experience however we were able to take it up to our room to eat so that was a bonus. Staff were very helpful and location was great. Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Nice
- 4/5
Room a little dated but clean and certainly comfortable enough for a weekend away for 2 adults and a child in our case. Breakfast a little hectic as a self service in a room that probably could do with being bigger. The food itself simple yet fulfilling and a reasonable variety. However plenty to set you up for a day out and about exploring the great city
- 2/5
No enough space for the breakfast area, limited options, non healthy options
- 4/5
Similar food everyday
- 5/5
Loved the location 2 avenues to Times Square. Fantastic. Coffee in lobby and breakfast
- 1/5
The room smelled bad. Like if the bedding wasn’t washed. The room size was tiny, smaller than what the pictures showed. One of the bed was touching the window which made it really cold specially in December. We ended up getting another hotel.
- 4/5
Room was clean, staff was very helpful when needed, and location was great.
- 5/5
Great location and staff were so accommodating!
- 4/5
Its ok
- 5/5
The staff was great with anything you needed!
- 5/5
Excellent location. Breakfast was not great. Too many people and not enough toasters... Cpuld sometimes be on a line for 30mins just to toast some bread
- 3/5
I was unlucky. The first i needed to change the room and the bags were late tomove. The second room was 1115 which is next to the elevator mechanical room. Very noisy.
- 3/5
Just ok
- 5/5
Fantastic location. Staff are friendly and helpful and rooms are clean and spacious. I would absolutely stay again.
- 2/5
Staff left outside speakers on all night. My rooms were on the second floor just above the speakers. Breakfast area was poorly organized, and not enough seating.
- 4/5
Hotel was clean and comfortable, Only negatives were small breakfast area and slow elevators. There were only 2 for the whole building and one was down for some of the time.
- 5/5
The breakfast menu was poor and the A/C too
- 5/5
Standard rooms and service.
- 5/5
I got to the hotel early, and this staff at the front desk was very helpful and I was able to check in and go up to my room earlier. The room was a very neat and clean, the temperature was very comfortable.
- 3/5
Very crowded with elevators that are clearly insufficient for the demand as you have to wait a lot to go to your floor. Our room was in the basement which was noisy and with a humidity smell.
- 5/5
All the staff was very kind. It was very clean and great location!
- 4/5
no
- 3/5
We chose to eat breakfast out at restaurants b/c we were looking for organic, fresh food. The AC/Heat unit cover fell off in our room but it did not affect the function of the unit. Construction was going on outside the entrance. Smokers gathered right outside the entrance which meant we had to walk through them to enter/exit the hotel. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel was farther from where we spent most of our time than we thought it would be, but we didn't spend much time there as we were out and about.
- 5/5
Enjoyed the stay. 10/10. Close walk to everything
- 2/5
The room very small, the breakfast poor.
- 5/5
Breakfast Area was well run
- 1/5
The door to our room had a large gap at the top of the door letting light in constantly and making the hallway noise louder than usual. There was a wet spot on the side of one of the beds that just sat - there was ne remedy except to keep a towel on it. The radiator was outlined in duct tape. We tried to call the front desk with a question and the phone didn't work. Most of the outlets didn't work. Breakfast was horrible - sausages were in the water so long that they were soggy. The cereal was stale. A really bad experience all the way around.
- 5/5
WE LOVE THIS HOTEL
- 5/5
Nice staff. Clean room. Excellent location
- 4/5
Room was clean except the shower ledge. That was very dirty. There was no water available to buy in the hotel. Staff was fantastic.

- 5/5
Room clean, good exercise room, pleasant and helpful staff
- 1/5
The staff however were very sweet and friendly and apologized profusely but I guess that still doesn't compensate for the money spent!
- 2/5
They put us in the basement, where housekeeping was loud day and night. TV didn't work. Outlet in bathroom didn't work. Breakfast was pretty darn bad. View was of the trash area (not a big deal). Not near subway. Overall if you need a reasonably-ish priced hotel, it was clean and the workers kind, but pretty bad otherwise.
- 4/5
Walking distance
- 5/5
Clean, friendly staff esp Victor at the reception. Not sound proof, can hear people chatting in the hallway and in their room. Can’t complain , I got a great black friday deal. It’s 2 blocks away from the noise of Times Square, mostly residential area. But you’re in Manhattan, everything is walkable !!
- 5/5
Very clean room. Good breakfast.
- 5/5
Room was mostly clean but not 100%, I appreciate the staff and good breakfast
- 4/5
Breakfast was adequate, although a bit chaotic depending on time.
- 5/5
El area del desayuno incomoda, pocas alternativas. Pueden mejorar esa area.
- 4/5
Midtown location. It’s convenient, within three blocks of MTA
- 3/5
The 2 elevators were very very slow, and upon returning one night we had to walk up 10 floors because they were not working at all, we are seniors. The coffee pot wasn't working properly. Not a big deal but the bathroom door wouldn't stay open and neither would the drawer on the night stand. It was like the room sloped and gravity pulled them open. It is such a great location but things really need upgrading.
- 3/5
No mirror in room
- 5/5
We have a great time there!!
- 5/5
Hey, it was the quintessential New York experience. The elevators were fritzing repeatedly and we had to either cram into the one working one or walk up 8 storeys. I thought that was fun. They have a great breakfast. For real, it was awesome. Room is tiny, but the view was iconic. Got those New York vibes through and through.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay, rooms were clean and all personnel was kind.
- 5/5
Best breakfast around Manhattan
- 1/5
I was in Room 116- right by lobby, breakfast room and prep area, ice machine. It was loud 24/7- guests or staff talking loudly, sounds of ice machine dumping ice constantly, breakfast prep early in morning. Literally impossible to sleep. Breakfast area was too overcrowded.
- 4/5
I thought the room was very nice, very small tho, but it is NYC after all.
- 4/5
Staff was great and always helpful. We had a few problems in the room but were fixed very quickly.
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 4/5
Overall clean safe convenient good service nice amenities great deal!
- 5/5
Great area for everything, Time square ,Empire state, ect room was great staff were friendly, breakfast was really good 👍
- 2/5
They gave us a room in the basement, where employees were using the vacuum at 11PM and then mopping loudly at 6 am, besides yelling and kicking with each other and was impossible to sleep. They move us to the 9th and 11th floor, which was good for 5 nights
- 4/5
Staff ! Front desk were always very helpful and kind. The food staff were rockstars’ all of them. It gsets crazy busy at breakfast and they installed new coffee dispensers and of course they didn’t work as planned. Everyone came together managers, and staff to solve the problem!
- 2/5
It was gross and elevator was so slow
- 5/5
Staff are super nice
- 4/5
Clean, safe, and comfortable
- 2/5
Rooms were very small even when paid for extra space. Many things broken in the room. Noisy, could hear everything. Breakfast very crowded and didn't taste all that great. Staff was nice but the facility is rundown, nothing like the pictures. Stay closer to midtown, this is a little way off from things.
- 3/5
The room heater was not working. On first report, technician did nothing. Spent one night without heater and that too with toddler. On second day, reported issue in the morning, no action. Reminded again in evening, technician came checked heater, tried to fix but failed. Then he has provided portable heater. Hotel management would have been moved us to new room instead they had taken for granted.
- 5/5
Friendly staff & amenities.
- 4/5
The room is small but very clean, closed to Hell’s Kitchen and Time square. Pretty good walking distances about 15 minutes but can take uber easily. The breakfast included which is pretty good. I would recommend to stay here.
- 3/5
- room was right by elevator, very noisy & walls seemed thin as I could hear a lot of conversations throughout my time in the room - water temp in bathroom was hard to control (temp control valve was probably old) so it was either scaldingly hot or cold - ice machines on floors 1, 5, 9. Very noisy. - room 1004 (my room) smelled like vomit and the heater, when initially turned on, smelled like wet gym socks. Hotel was apparently fully booked so I had to leave the heater on with the window open for a few hours to get the smell out. - great location close to Times Square & Theater district! Was sufficient for my needs on this particular trip.
- 5/5
Great hotel! Close to everything
- 3/5
It was crowded, the elevator was slow, the staff was super cool.
- 5/5
Stayed here twice because it’s ideal for New York City Marathon. Close to Javits Center and not too far from the New York City Public Library for the bus pick up. They also had what we needed for the race bright and early on Sunday.
- 3/5
Manager and front desk staff were great. The condition of the room and the level of sounds during quiet hours were a bit out of hand. Some vacuuming happening at 10:30 pm one night. It felt like the house keepers didn’t care about our stay.
- 4/5
We did have an incident with our daughters’ toys getting taken away by cleaning staff when the bedding was changed. We managed to get one back in quite a bad state but the other appears to be lost. These things happen but there was no apology for it or keenness from staff to try to sort out the issue, which was a bit disappointing.
- 2/5
Room was clean but smelled like someone smoked a carton of cigarettes in there. I was on the ground floor and couldn't open the window because there was no screen and huge rats out there in the trash outside my window Heat wasn't working on the last night and the ground floor is where housekeeping takes linens and it's very loud.
- 4/5
The room that was given to us was connected to another room. There was a door leading to another room which was not locked. We just noticed it on our 3rd day becasue of our nossy neighbour that open their side of the door and was about to see our room. It was not safe and the view from our window was all rubbish. Not a very good view so we have to keep our curtains close all the time.
- 4/5
The area surrounding the hotel could be very noisy into the night and we had noisy school children on our floor that made it difficult to sleep at times. We did like the location however - close to broadway and Times Square.
- 4/5
Comfortable, clean and friendly staff.
- 4/5
Very well located for Times Square, Central Park, mid town Manhattan, and the subway. The area felt safe, even when we were walking back after the theatre (around 11pm).
- 2/5
This is a great location for getting on a cruise ship - but other than that - not the greatest. Busy of course so hard to get breakfast. Door to room would not latch so had to use the deadbolt and security lock while we stayed in but kept our fingers crossed that no one would steal anything when we left. Front desk attendant was very friendly - small elevators and slow.
- 5/5
Very walkable to subway, Times Square, Broadway and many restaurants!
- 5/5
It's a little dated but really a great hotel for the price and being in Manhattan made it very convenient. The only problem was not the hotel's fault but we had to deal with several student groups from overseas.
- 4/5
Not in the center of all the noise but an easy walk to it. Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast area is way too crowded. Not sure if the plates/utensils can be moved away from the toaster where people stand and wait for their toast but that really jams up the flow. It was difficult 3/5 days to get the towels I needed in my room. All that said, I would stay here again.
- 4/5
Very clean, staff was helpful and friendly. Room was small but they clean it daily which was great.
- 5/5
good
- 4/5
The drawer would not closed.
- 1/5
I would have appreciated not being on the ground floor. I was also a victim of fraudulent activity.
- 3/5
Busy small breakfast area.
- 5/5
You could easily walk to Times Square from here
- 5/5
really CLOSE to cruise port, like 5 min walk. highly recommend for pre cruise
- 3/5
Great location....but we kept having an issue with the toilet. Breakfast was ok but it was extremely crowded.
- 3/5
Small room. Couldn't not even pass each other without someone having to move on to a bed. No room whatsoever. checked in and had 1 towel for a family of 4. Requested more and had to call 3 times over a couple of hours before we got them. Day 2, housekeeping came and took all of the towels... did not even leave a hand towel. Towel chase began again. Very loud, 6th floor, could hear street noise like the windows were open and hall noise. Staff not super friendly, just very transactional.
- 5/5
Nice room ..staff great.. breakfast sufficient
- 2/5
Not happy at all with this booking. No early check-in even if you pay. There was only 1 employee. We arrived early and the front desk employee said no early check-in. She did take out luggage so that we could go and have something to eat. We came back 1 earlier than Check-in and she told us the room was not ready and told us to seat and once ready she’ll come for us. Time passed and by 3:30 there was a huge line if people checking in and when approached her to tell her we were waiting for us she told us to get in line. We ended up getting to the room around 4:30 only to find the smallest bedroom, with the smallest beds and very small bathroom. We could barely get around. Terrible service. Will definitely not come back. NOT recommended.
- 4/5
Reservation staff was rude over the phone and should not be working in costumer service.
- 4/5
A school grade from Glasgow Scotland stayed on the same floor we were on and the teens ran up and down the hall slamming doors well into the early morning. As a light sleeper this didn’t work out so well for me, but I am glad to see the school experiencing New York! As we were leaving, another school was coming in.

Breakfast was ok, horrible staff the woman who clean have no manners
- 2/5
Breakfast was okay. It appears that breakfast was made in the microwave, eggs had no flavor. Sausage and potatoes were a little iffy. Let's talk about the elevator, that took forever. Then there was the cleaning process was odd. Cleaning lady wanted to clean at 4pm; that's an unusual time. We would typically get back to the hotel at 4pm to rest, so that in the night we would go out again. For those reasons, lm rating hotel 2-3 stars.
- 5/5
Had a nice clean room and the hotel was in a good location. Staff was friendly and accommodating to our needs. Highly recommend this Hotel
- 2/5
The tv was broken and they sent people to fix 3 times but never fixed it. They finally put me in another room for our final night. Was not able to watch live baseball games uninterrupted. The air wasn’t working either. It was set at 64 but the room stayed at 75. Lastly there are only 2 elevators used for everyone including cleaning crews so there was a 10-15 minute wait to go up or down. Ended up using stairs for the 6 floors
- 5/5
First time in NYC…very pleasant stay. I will be returning soon!
- 3/5
Rooms were clean but small. Staff polite and helpful. Good location.
- 4/5
Staff friendly at check in
- 4/5
Very easy to drive in from out of state.
- 5/5
The staff is great and they regularly checked in to make sure we had all supplies without us asking.
- 4/5
In everything else it was very good..
- 2/5
Television and air conditioning didn’t work, only two, slow elevators for a busy hotel and an extremely overpriced room that was poorly designed to accommodate two guests and a king sized bed. Probably one of the worst experiences we’ve experienced with Holiday Inn.
- 4/5
Breakfast is ok but get crowded so finding a seat can be a challenging, but not a big deal. For the price, was very good. We will come back.
- 3/5
Friendly late night staff, we came in very late from JFK, and left really early for Penn Station.
- 5/5
Nice place and well located. Great breakfast. Accurate for the value
- 4/5
Walls are very thin. Our neighbors were very loud and constantly slamming doors. The rooms are tiny so big luggage can be an issue. It was great having a fridge in our room. The staff was great and storing our luggage was a plus!
- 2/5
My room reaked of urine, we had 1 very small trash can. Upon checking in, we were told to only use the ice machine in the lobby, i asked why? And was told if you use the ones on the higher floors the guess will complain, i found that disturbing. We went out Wednesday morning didn't come back in until 12am, our key card didn't work we had to stand outside to wait for the attendant went to the room the keys didn't work. When we got in the room it hadn't been cleaned and we had no towels, had to go back down stairs to ask for towels. The attendant apologized brought towels and that was it. No we did not have the do not disturb sign on the door. And only one elevator was working.

Toilet wouldnt stop making noise. They put me on the first floor and people loud all day and night.

Great staying
- 5/5
Great stay with the kiddos … waiting on cruise day excellent location to the carnival cruise walk too pier !! Service and safe overall nice stay !!

Parking was booked and paid for but when I arrived at the property I was informed parking is fool and I have to find parking myself. As a result I spent time searching for parking but eventually the property manager was able to resolve the issue. Thanks!

Con: Our room is horribly soundproofed. We could hear every sound clearly, such as when someone was walking in the hallway, talking, or the door of the nearby room was closed. We had a ground-floor room, and were not informed that construction was taking place right outside our room, located at the back of the building. We were woken up at 8 am with hammering and people talking right outside our window. When we first walked into our room, it smelled of mildew. We thought that once AC kicks in, the room would smell better. However, the room continues to smell of mildew by the end of each day, when we return from our daily outings. I do not think I would stay there again.
- 3/5
The room was ok but the a/c was leaking water over the carper and it was always wet and smell like mold. The toilet flushed but stayed little open so the water kept running. There was never water available for the guest besides the breakfast time and hot water for coffee was always empty at night.
- 4/5
Perfect for what I needed afforadable well located and safe and two double beds made our stay very comfortable
- 3/5
The windows were filthy so could not enjoy the view. Presence of scaffolding and swing stage interrupted view. No chairs out front as pictured in ads, again due to presence of scaffolding. I feel guests should be warned when construction is going on. There was an ugly stain on the day bed and plastic peeking from the base of the bed. Shabby overall. The staff was professional and courteous.
- 3/5
Crowded breakfast - substandard breakfast and only one working elevator - very inconvenient for the 12th floor - we left two days early.
- 3/5
Staff was friendly. Location was ok. Lots of work going on and the room given had a horrible view of trash and maintenance items.
- 4/5
Our stay was comfortable. Room was not too big but space was sufficient to put our bags and stuff. Breakfast was decent with different option each day. Breakfast area is not too big. Go early to avoid morning rush. Hotel has 2 elevators running smoothly but little slow. 10 minutes to attractions and subway. Overall nice stay.
- 5/5
Good value! Good location.
- 3/5
I couldn't stay in that room for 8 nights and the staff agreed to move me after the first night (as they didn't have an alternative for that night)
- 2/5
Do not expect to get a room before 3 pm and the free breakfast is a jungle no matter what time u show up always pack, rooms and beds are small and two small elevators always full for 11 floors building
- 4/5
Los cuartos muy chico pero lo demás está excelente
- 3/5
Room was smaller than it seemed on pictures. Staff was nice.
- 5/5
Amazing stay. Only downside is breakfast is very very very cramped and hectic. Other than that perfect!!
- 4/5
Staff is always willing to help, was given late checkout as requested. Breakfast is exactly what you need, complete protein and different breads. There are 2 great pizza places one block away. Only con is that metro is far
- 4/5
Hotel is located at walking distance to Manhattan Cruise terminal.
- 5/5
Great location about a 10-minute walk to a metro station and Times Square. Everything was clean and the staff were awesome. The only downside was that the room was a bit small and storage was limited, but otherwise 10/10.
- 2/5
Construction on hotel very noisy early in morning. Worker

I am still waiting for my deposit
- 5/5
Friendly helpful staff, good breakfast and clean.
- 4/5
Super close to eberything. Great price and breakfast was good too. But lines are way too long in the morning and wish there were more elevators
- 5/5
Love this hotel. Breakfast was a big plus.
- 3/5
The hotel room is very small , staff is very nice the elevator on mornings takes very long... breakfast is very good,
- 1/5
We were really disappointed with our stay. Despite paying a premium price, we were given a ground floor room, which we did not expect or request. The noise levels were unbearable—constant disturbances from people walking by, doors slamming, and traffic outside. It made it hard to relax or get a decent night’s sleep. For the amount we paid, we expected a much more peaceful and comfortable experience. Wouldn’t stay here again.
- 5/5
Thank you
- 3/5
Room and breakfast areas was to small. Unable to move around comfortably in double bed room. Too many people to fit in breakfast areas and no items for Vegans. Too long to wait for elevators.
- 4/5
Close to all attractions
- 5/5
Great breakfast
- 4/5
The only problem is the room is a bit small
- 5/5
Good location for walks by the riverside and river cruise terminals, and transport links to other parts of the city. Also close to Times square which is a major attraction. Plenty of food options within walking distance. Breakfast at the hotel was basic and seating spaces were limited during peak summer holiday period.
- 4/5
Stayed for a week. Overall good . Disappointed with breakfast being vegetarian . There was nothing cooked available in veg except breads and cornflakes as compare to non veg having 3-4 cooked options daily
- 1/5
Very noisy. Put us room right next to the loud lobby! Doing construction. No outdoor area due to construction. Breakfast food was cold and awful. Out of a lot of items. Curtain in room fell down.
- 3/5
The location was convenient, rooms are small but workable. Biggest downside is the elevators which are very slow and you can expect to wait 5 minutes for it to arrive. There is free breakfast but the breakfast area is small and extremely crowded in the morning
- 4/5
It was good.
- 5/5
Breakfast quantity limitlees.Hudson Bay and cruise and high lune are at few minutes .Times square also 18 min walkable distance .Area is safe .
- 3/5
Breakfast was ok but our room wasnt once cleaned or towels changed in the 4 nights we stayed!. Location was good but a bit rough with drug users jacking up on needles on the same street, this isnt the hotels fault I know but something to be aware of if chosing this hotel and staying with children.
- 5/5
Great hotel. Everything was clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Great location, fantastic staff.
- 5/5
Great service provided
- 3/5
Food options werent great. Couldnt get fresh eggs or even pancakes. Food was not made with love. Potatoes dry, eggs watery, sausage hard.
- 5/5
The breakfast area is kind of a madhouse, the space just not big enough to accommodate the crush of people using it every morning.
- 5/5
Perfect, would stay again.
- 5/5
Good and friendly staff.
- 3/5
Great
- 5/5
The staff are extremely helpful and polite! They made a good memory of staying in that hotel for me.
- 4/5
The aircon in Room 317 was loud.
- 5/5
I reserved a 1 queen room and it was misleading as I sleep on a queen at home and this was FULL bed so had I known I would have done a 2 bed room. We also had an accessible room which I love but wish they had done a better job with bathroom drainage from the shower, had to put two towels down to keep water from soaking the whole bathroom. The A/C worked amazing, bed was comfortable, housekeeping was amazing as well. The hotel offers a free hot breakfast which is a draw for school trip so I'm the mornings it was a zoo worse than Disney World buffet lines, the ran out of juices on the weekend which was sad for my son who is a picky on what he will drink. The food was good and changed each morning what was available. The best selling point is it is 6 blocks from Time Square and 1 to 2 blocks from some amazing restaurants. For the price it is a good value for what ouu receive
- 4/5
Was avaerage
- 3/5
I waiting more then 1 hour for check in and also my room is dirty with hair in the bath and garbage and also the refrigerator has old food inside . and the TV don 't working right.
- 4/5
All good.
- 5/5
Very Good
- 1/5
Horrible experience
- 3/5
The room itself was spacious with a comfortable bed, aircon worked perfectly and there were coffee making facilities. The fridge did work but only kept things cool rather than cold. However the thing that ruined our stay was breakfast. There were far too many people and not enough seating or food. We tried at several different times but it was still unpleasant. Food ran out as quickly as it was bought out and it was impossible to move around safely and comfortably. Pros- location, room space, aircon and general cleanliness of hotel. Local shops for food, drinks and bars etc. Cons- breakfast was over crowded, disorganised and not enough food or coffee. Lifts during breakfast. No warning of works at the hotel. Reception had 1 small sofa so not ideal when waiting for cabs etc.
- 5/5
Very nice stay, comfortable beds, and delicious breakfast options available
- 5/5
Enjoyed staying here with my whole family ! great and safe location -15 mins walking distance to time square /subway station; convent store and restaurants are also close by ; hotel was clean , friendly and accommodating staff ; good breakfast . Definitely will come back !
- 4/5
Room service was very nice. Breakfast was good with many options. Rooms could have been more bigger. Could have provided airport shuttle services for the total package.
- 5/5
- 5/5
Staff was courteous and helpful! Rooms were nice except some if the furniture was unhinged ;) fantastic location
- 3/5
AC did not work. Maintenance had to come to the room twice to get fixed properly.
- 4/5
It was close to restaurants, Times Square and other centers around NYC.
- 2/5
Room was dirty. McDonald’s trash bag under the bed, dirty socks, cockroaches. Hot tub was listed as an amenity but was unavailable.
- 3/5
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION (and that's about it). Visited NYC for a few days to enjoy some live theatre prior to the Tony's and this place was pretty well reviewed with a decent price. There was construction in front of the building which was a bit of a nuisance, but understandable. The view from my room was nice as long as you didn't look downn (see photo). The bigger issues were the elevator which seemed to always be full and took multiple passes before there was room to get in. If you take the stairs down, you end up outside the hotel and have to walk back in. The breakfast is a joke as it is always packed and if you show up even an hour after it starts, most of the food will be picked over. None of this prevented me from having a great time at the theatre, but I'm sure there are better options in the area. Plenty of food options in the area which were much better than the breakfast buffet.
- 2/5
We didn't had a plesant stay. Aa ac was not workibg and many more issue. Only good thing was it was in manhattan as a tourist to visit all..
- 3/5
Property and rooms are nice. There is no transportation. Always depends on cabs. No parking available.
- 3/5
Wasn't the worst place I've stayed at but fell below expectations. Ugly scaffolding covered the front entrance (it looks nothing like the nice photos on the property page). I appreciate the hotel tried to update and upgrade the hotel but it still looks old and outdated. But at least there is free breakfast, everything in my room worked fine and there was no major issues. Simply for what I paid I thought it would look as nice as it is on the promo pictures.
- 4/5
Check in was great. The front desk was very helpful
- 4/5
This place is excellent for a visit to New York City. Great value clean many extras included. They have a beautiful hot breakfast with lots of protein options. They will store your luggage for free. They even have a computer with a printer with paper if you happen to need it
- 5/5
I'm liked everything. But don't have a microwave in the room is the bad.
- 2/5
Dirty place.
- 5/5
Staff was amazing. Great location
- 5/5
Awesome place. Housekeeping was amazing. Our room was extremely clean and small but that’s normal in NY. The staff was excellent, the breakfast was awesome- eggs and bacon. 15 minute walk to Times Square, 10 minute walk to the subway. Great stay.
- 4/5
This hotel is nice, but it was a bit hot in our room and very hot in the breakfast area
- 3/5
The hotel was clean. The breakfast's area was very small for 11 floors. It was ver crowded, but a good breakfast. The room was clean, but the view was not good due to the construction . The morning of the checkout there was the electricity outage, so breakfast was not provided.
- 3/5
Ok. Issues with having towels in the room. Breakfast is good but soooooo many people most items run out as soon as they are put out.
- 5/5
The rooms are adequate. Food was decent. It was a worth it stay. I would go back there again.
- 1/5
The rooms were filthy and not appropriately stocked. Mold throughout the shower, shower had dirt and hair in it upon arrival, body gel empty, towels were like sand paper. The "waiting area" was the size of a postage stamp. The eating area was cramped, hot, crowded, very limited seating, food was subpar and worst coffee ever. I've stayed in nicer Motel 6's.
- 5/5
Walking distance to Times Square. Near Intrepid Museum.. just enough space room good breakfast and nice staff too
- 3/5
Rooms are clean but tiny. Our room didn’t get cleaned the three nights we were there and we had to ask for towels. Breakfast area was so tiny. Tv remote didn't work nor did a couple of plugs.
