Reviews
The hotel is praised for its excellent location and friendly, helpful staff. However, the property is often described as old, worn out, and in need of renovation. The rooms are frequently mentioned as small and sometimes noisy, but clean and comfortable.

Its location, helpful staff and value for money. Nothing that merits comment.

Perfect if you just need a place to sleep. No special amenities or glam to the hotel. Just a spot that is in great location.

Great location, clean room, friendly staff.
- 4/5
Super helpful staff and clean room. The only problem was there was only one working elevator. It just made for long waits during busy times of day.
- 1.5/5
Staff and location It's so old. The hallways look like a prison. We were actually scared.

Room was clean, but had a bad odor

Great location in Manhattan Very dated property. Cleanliness can improve.
- 1/5
This property felt dirty, black mold in the shower, etc. I would wear shoes in the room. I felt like I was in a hostel, not a hotel. The staff was nice enough.
- 4/5
It’s well located to reach many sights of the City. Train stations nearby. It was nice and clean.
- 2.5/5
Nothing really the gym was disappointing. The cleanliness and the room was not top-tier. I paid a significant amount but was a little disappointed.

This was a more run down boutique style NYC hotel. They nickel and dime you for everything including holding bags ($2 per bag). Walls are paper thin, bathrooms like cruise ship bathrooms and no amenities. Air conditioning was a window unit.

The Heritage Hotel appealed to us mainly because of its location, in the Flatiron district, and because it seemed reasonably priced. It is a fully modernised old hotel, meticulously clean, and the desk staff are friendly and helpful. The room was a comfortable 'king room' - big bed, separate toilet and shower room. Although it is in the middle of Manhattan there was no issue with noise from the street. It is very easy to get to by public transport - 23rd Street subway is just a short walk away. We would not hesitate to stay there again.
- 1.5/5
Only location is great. The hotel is significantly overpriced for what it offers, it is extremely basic. Constant noise is a major issue - both day and night. The soundproofing is very poor, and the room was constantly filled with loud external ventilation noise, which was impossible to ignore. The air conditioning system is an outdated window-installed model that is so extremely loud that it is completely useless -you cannot sleep with it running, Dark room, natural light in the room was very poor, as the room faced some other buildings. Daily housekeeping was not provided as standard, so waste bins were not emptied for 4 days during our stay. The bathroom had a rusty towel holder. Overall, this hotel is a major disappointment and is not worth the price.
- 4/5
Location was perfect and in a safe area. Room was a decent size and staff was helpful. Towels were small and thin. They wouldn’t give you extra and you had to exchange them at the front desk to get new ones. Room is only cleaned if you request the night before. Hotel fit our needs for trip
- 5/5
Hotels in the city are insanely expensive no matter what level you're looking for. I didn't feel the need to pay an extra $300/ night for a little more shoulder room and free powdered eggs in the morning. Not a ton of frills, but exactly as advertised. Rooms are small but I only needed mine for sleeping and showering; mission accomplished. Location in NoMad/ Flatiron is perfect. To a person, the staff was not only helpful but genuinely seemed like pleasant people.

Very clean and spacious. Quiet neighborhood. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Perfect location to avoid the crowds at Time Square.

It was in a good location. The woman who checked me in was nice. The hotel was really dated. I felt like I was in a Jim Jarmusch movie. It felt more like a hostel or a college dorm. My charge card was charged before I arrived and I had to wait to check in. The walls of the room were very thin. It just wasn’t my cup of tea, so to speak.

location is fantastic, dead in the heart of midtown. 10-15 minute walk to majority of things, easy acess to time square and majority of subway stations, 2 bros pizza less than a minute away (cant beat the value of the 1.50 pizza). Staff was incredible, easily the best part of staying here, incredibly polite and helpful, and will let you use the property for the bathroom or the hang out a bit before checkin and after checkout. Rooms are a little small, bathroom was pretty cramped, and house keeping has to be requested a night in advance, But for the price it genuinely cannot be beat. Was my second time staying here and will probably come back for a third next time im in the city! tv is a little fuzzy and staticy but did have acess to plenty of channels, the view from the window wasnt great but fair enough i didnt pay extra for the city view, and either way you get a great view of the empire state building from the front of the hotel

Hotel is in a brilliant location only 10 minutes from Pen Station , perfect for sightseeing and getting around , The rooms were big , I stayed here with my two children. We had three single beds in our room and space to unpack bags ect , I would definitely stay in this hotel again,
- 2.5/5
I liked the staff. They were friendly and efficient. Always there. We felt safe. The pictures do not match the place. Our room was old. For example, the table was unstable, definitely couldn’t lean on it, the bed had wheels for whatever reasons, and just everything was old and while very clean, yellow ish from “age” (curtains, bath, floor). We couldn’t open the windows even a little to get air. And the view of the window was a dirty small area with the windows of the other rooms just in front. Also, we only took the elevator twice for luggages because it was taking at least 5 minutes to arrive, literally! For us it was ok to take the stairs, but the older people were badly impacted.

Location! This is my favorite area to stay in. The hotel was in a perfect location. Would definitely stay again Nothing not to like. Great location, clean, comfortable. I had no complaints.

What an amazing stay! Rooms were quiet, clean with comfy beds and linens, enough room for 2 of us to move around with 2 twin beds, multiple places to store luggage, great bathroom and water pressure the staff were lovely and helpful. A steal for the location and quality! Will happily come back here. This isn’t a resort - no amazing views or anything like that, but the perfect place for an affordable high quality stay in the city, close to everything you need!
- 3/5
Location, staff pleasant, fridge in room along with. Iron, ironing board, hairdryer, toiletries. Was very outdated, in need of TLC, everywhere needed a good clean, bathroom was very dirty. I was only there two nights so dealt with it but if I was any longer this hotel would not be my choice. A welcome guide would have been helpful.

I was disappointed with our experience. The receptionist/staff member was rude and difficult to communicate with. We had a last-minute change in plans and needed to add one child to our trip, but they were not willing to help or work with us on our accommodation. They later offered for us to check in the next day with an added charge, even though I had already offered a similar solution at check-in. Overall, the customer service was not helpful and made the situation more stressful.

We liked everything about this stay! The staff was so helpful and welcoming, from giving me some toiletries that I forgot to helping me out with the suitcases. Location is great! Subway is close, walking distance to some major things. The rooms were clean and the beds were soo comfortable. The rooms are on the smaller scale, so just keep that in mind.

I would I not stay here again simply because it is too loud. The doors are constantly slamming throughout the night. The lights shining under the door was also annoying. It looks like it was an apartment building they have tried to change into a hotel.

The windows were very dirty. Room was noisy (poor insulation of the windows and door to adjacent room). Don't understand the high rating on Hotels.com. Room was totally overpriced. Not a good value.

The access was easy, and the rooms nice. Just that: -they could have each and all rooms have their own bathrooms, even for family bookings - a breakfast provided to guests could be a nice plus. Apart from that all was good, and even quite excellent. Thanks.

The only stars are for the location and the staff. Unfortunately, my stay at the Heritage Hotel in New York was very disappointing. The only positive aspects were the great location and the friendly staff. The hotel feels extremely outdated, with a strange layout and very small rooms. There was no proper desk to work from, the bed was noisy, and the mattress was very uncomfortable and did not feel very clean. Considering I paid around $450 per night, the value for money was terrible. I expected much more and would not stay here again. Please stay out from here!!

excellent location to walk around new york, lots of coffe shops nearby, staff was great. they provided room cleaning upon request. small fride usefull to keep some snacks and food for days when i did not feel like eating out, or have some fruit for a quick breakfast. Room lacked a bit of natural light, and windows could not be opened to ventilate the room. Lights could be a little brighter and maybe add one or two more bulbs. some days water pressure and temperature wasnt as high, but got fixed later.

We liked the location very much :) And the staff were so nice and helpful
- 4/5
This is a modest, old-school hotel. For NYC, it is affordable and in a good location near the Flatiron Building and the 23rd st. subway station. Nothing fancy. Rooms are small and comfortable with a coffee maker, safe, and mini-fridge. Bathrooms look renovated. Hallways are narrow but so what. In short, you sleep in this hotel and get out to see the city, which is the point. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Great breakfast place steps from front door. Flea market across the street on weekends.I will stay here again for the price, relative quality, friendliness, and location.
- 4/5

Close to Penn Station and Subway Terrible value for money, the room was tiny, barely fit my open suitcase. Poorly lit. The room smelled like cigarettes even through I asked for non smoking. Room temperature was super cold and I could not manage it independently. Staff was moody at reception and charged me for keeping my bags for a few hours before and after my check-in/out times.

- 2/5
Uhm. It was available for a low price when we needed it. The end. Everything. Dingy hotel. Strong cleaning supply smell that gave us a headache but didn’t make the place feel clean. They take the term budget to mean absolutely no amenities (basic stuff like water even). And I don’t think our linens were clean. Hair on pillows, hair on walls in bathroom. A mess.
- 2.5/5
No openable Windows. Cheap quality services.
- 4/5
Emplacement de l'hôtel excellent pour visiter Manhattan à pied. Personnel très sympathique.
- 2/5
My room looks recently painted and furniture is newer but the mattress was totally clapped out, pillows were lumpy and only had a very thin blanket. Had to blast the heater not to freeze but it sounded like a freight train so spent the night leaving it on long enough to warm the room then turning it off to try and sleep on the horrible mattress and pillow before it got cold again. And the walls are thin enough to eavesdrop on my neighbors’ conversation! Won’t be back.

Quiet room on top floor (11th). Quiet, safe street. Comfortable bed. Good water pressure. Plenty of hot water. Refrigerator. Window unit for heat and air conditioning was quiet and worked well. Good wifi. Excellent location. Nearby subways, buses to Times Square theaters, everywhere else. 15 minute walk to Penn Station. Beautiful Madison Square Park half block away. Plenty of fast casual restaurants within two blocks (bowls, etc.). Charming breakfast/lunch restaurant next door (Maman). Fairway supermarket, CVS half block away. Whole Foods and Target a couple blocks. Friendly, helpful staff. Well-behaved clientele. Ice machine in lobby. I stayed a week and was very satisfied. Microwave on first floor, not in room. No chair in room, only stool. Inadequate cell phone reception in room, you have to make and take calls from the street. These are minor issues in comparison to the overall good quality of the hotel.

The location is a vibrant neighborhood with easy access ti anywhere in Manhattan The property is fine. Not fancy. But every need is met and that is what is important. Heritage House is an exceptional value.

Closet was not usable and only had one power outlet in the room.
- 5/5
One of the vending machines in the lobby was out of water. The other one had water, but was cash only, no card. The gentleman working the front desk noticed I was having trouble and asked me what was wrong. I explained and he then went out of his way to GIVE me $2 bills from the register to buy a water bottle. Above and beyond service! Really pleased with our stay here.

Good location at a budget price compared to other options in Midtown. Not a room I would want to spend an extended period of time in, but fine for a place to stay for a night. No major issues.

Superb location and staff was very friendly! Beds are comfy, rooms even smaller ones are good size for NYCX Water pressure in the shower is great! Elevators are bit slow, but u can take stairs for the lower floors. Smaller rooms are facing inner part of the building, consider booking bigger room that faces street if you prefer more light.
- 4.5/5

Great location very helpful staff
- 3/5
Location was convenient to all parts of Manhattan. Charming exterior. Plenty of food options and shopping. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Good value if you are looking for just a place to sleep while you are out in the city. Was not expecting a high end hotel but it needed some TLC, paint on walls and doors looked banged up, floors in hallway and room were vinyl and needed to be changed. Beds were noisy..Thin walls, I could hear my neighbor's conversations.
- 2.5/5
The staff were unfriendly. spoke like bossy tone, as if she were my boss giving me orders.
- 1.5/5
The room is too expensive based on the room size - the money paid for the room is not worth it. The check-in and check-out times are not good. The hotel is not pretty.

- 3/5
Staff was freindly and the place was realtively clean without mincing words: the rooms area bit shitty... while the price is high but still reasonable for the location, the rooms are cramped, and clealiness barely meeting standards; you can tell that there have been recent remodels but they did the bare minimum to make the room look decent in picture.
- 4/5
The location was perfect, right near a main station so it was super easy to get around the city. The room was actually pretty spacious for NYC and had everything I needed. The heating worked really well, which mattered because it was freezing when I went. The bathroom was very clean, and the staff were super friendly with 24/7 reception, which was really helpful. The walls are pretty thin, so you can hear everything, but honestly that’s kind of expected in a hotel. The elevator was also really slow, which got a bit annoying, but nothing major
- 5/5

Facilities are adequate and location is great. Room and bathroom are classically small since it's New York. The staff were so kind, and security was great. We felt very safe at this hotel. The heater was not very strong, wish they had thicker blankets. Elevator is slow but functional.

Perfectly adequate and good value.

It was clean and well-appointed with good linens and pillows. The only concern was that the room was cold when I woke up. There’s no thermostat- just an in-window air conditioner that was switched off. It was a little cool when I went to sleep, which was nice, but it was cold enough to wake me up before my alarm.
- 5/5
Meh. If you want fresh towels, you have to bring your old ones down and the shampoo is out. Which is pretty minor honestly. All in all a pretty good deal for a great location in New York City.

The hotel is functional and well located, with convenient access to different parts of the city. The neighborhood offers good connectivity and makes it easy to move around. The property itself is fairly basic and serves its purpose mainly as a place to sleep after a day out in New York. Overall, it works well if you are looking for a simple and practical stay rather than a hotel experience with extensive amenities or atmosphere.

very dated and EXTREMELY small.
- 3/5
Mostly fine, but one big flaw, the heater/AC is a window mounted unit that is either all on, or all off. All night long, on, off, on, off, I could not sleep through it. You have your choice of heat, or steady fan, but not both. Please fix this. Otherwise all was fine.

Staff was great. would stay on a lower floor next time. Elevators were slow but expected for an older hotel. Wish they had coffee in the lobby - room coffee didnt work well. only because it was so cold outside it was difficult to just go out and get a coffee. i would definatly stay here again

It was ok. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. Old dirty room with dirty towels. I’m not mad but it wasn’t very comfortable especially after a week. For a few days it could be perfectly serviceable.

O hotel é muito bom, bem localizado, perto de muita coisa essencial, sem falar que o quarto em que fiquei é bem silencioso. O Quarto é espaçoso, organizado e com um bom banheiro. A equipe é super simpática.

Overall our stay was good! Not tons of outside noise, great location close to lots of popular sites to see, and good food. All staff were very nice and helpful!! They’ll store your luggage in a locked room if you arrive before check in time which was great! The room wasn’t insanely clean and felt a little run down. There was hair in the bathtub and some stains on the sheets. This is the only reason i would give it 4 stars.

Staff was amazing, always helpful, room was clean. We got the petite room and it was enough for two adults and a teenager. A bit tight but we were only in the room for sleep. We will definitely stay again. Not far from the subway to get to where we needed to be. Great place!

Location is excellent - right near the Flatiron building and a well connected subway station. Lots of shops, restaurants and amenities near the hotel and very convenient. Staff friendly and helpful. Room could’ve been slightly cleaner however the cleaning can be requested, and the beds are super comfortable. The heating system in the room is great as well and the shower is lovely and warm. Overall, I would stay here again and was very affordable for the time of year, providing an excellent experience for us.

We stayed in the family suite, the rooms were spacious and clean. The bathroom walls had some scuffs and needed paint touch up and the bathroom was really small, but overall not bad. The beds were comfortable and we had a nice view of the Empire State Building. Chelsea Flea is across the street, flat iron building, Korea Town and Harry Potter store are all very short walk and Time Square was about 10 minutes away. Staff was supper friendly and there are convenient parking options near by

Everything went well with us, overall. But, the room we stayed in was a little smaller than expected.

Room was small for 4 people but very clean and comfortable. Appreciated the location, right in the heart of manhattan! 2 fast elevators. Friendly staff. We would stay here again for sure!
- 5/5
The staff was courteous and the check in and check out process was very fast. It is exactly what we expected for the price. We knew it woyld be a basic room and we were tot3fine with that.
- 5/5
The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was quiet but close to restaurants and the subways. The room was small (typical for NYC) but clean.

Staff were wonderfully friendly. Check in and out was really speedy. We had the 2 bed suite and it suited us perfectly. It’s not a huge suite but still plenty of room for us. Everything worked well - hot water, heating, toiletries & towels provided. The location was excellent. No noise disturbance at night. We walked almost everywhere. Would certainly stay again - value for money.
- 3/5
Hotel was more run down than the pictures indicated. Very friendly and helpful staff and great location. Room was clean but basic. I felt the room didn't match the hotel.com pics.
- 5/5
Great location, clean room, good amenities. We've stayed here several times. Recommended.
- 3/5

Check in was easy, staff was super friendly and helpful. Perfect stay for our overnight visit! Ty!!

Staff and cleanliness were great. The rooms are small but comfortable. A couple of hooks or shelves in the bathroom would be helpful.
- 2/5
The room was clean enough, although it was actually too clean it reeked of bleach and I did not sleep more than three hours all night because I continued to itch my skin all night. There were way too many chemicals on the sheets. I’m glad that it was clean, but they do not need to use such harsh chemicals I had read Splotches all over me in the morning. The room was extremely small so was the bathroom which should be expected for a building that was built in the 1900s. However, they only supplied crappy individual coffee pods in the room with plastic cups instead of Styrofoam. Downstairs there was nothing at all even though they had a beautiful kitchen dining area that could’ve been used there was not even Free coffee or free, hot cocoa. We had to walk blocks before we could even find a decent place to get something warm to drink. It was extremely frigid while we were there. Yes they did keep our bags however they did not tell us until we checked out that it was three dollars per bag And we checked them both days that we walked around the city. They added it to my credit card at the end, I had no idea. I thought it was a free service. The staff was friendly enough, but not friendly enough to help me get a partial refund for the horrible night that I had. Would not stay here Again
- 4/5
The room was clean and the staff always very friendly. The spaces are small but we expected that for an older building and for what we paid. My only complaint was the shower drained very slowly so we had to constantly stand in water while taking a shower.
- 5/5
This is a perfect “no frills” hotel. Very very clean and super kind and welcoming staff. There were a few very minor things that could use updating (TVs, etc) but if you’re looking for affordable and close to a lot of attractions this is your place! We have to come back to NYC in a few months again for wedding dress alterations and we will most likely end up staying here again!
- 4/5
Big gap under the door to my room. Otherwise fine.
- 4/5
The layout was kinda wonky. Had to figure out going through fire doors to get to my room. Narrow hallways and the doors could use a little touchup.
- 5/5
We were there four days and enjoyed our stay. The staff was very nice. The room was small, but we didn’t seem to have any problem and the price is good.
- 5/5
probably the best cheapest combo for hotel in Manhattan! Within walking distance of Empire State Building and a quick biking ride within all other landmarks. Would definitely stay here again! Staff were super friendly also!
- 4/5
Bathroom window leaked air, heat in the room was hard to control
- 5/5
Small room but does it’s job for the night
- 5/5
Everyone was wonderful
- 5/5
I loved staying here and would definitely come back! The staff was friendly and the hotel was within walking distance of everything we wanted to do. It felt like a safe and clean neighborhood and I would recommend this place to others.
- 3/5
But the bigger issue is the HVAC. They have window air-conditioning unit that is old and both noisy and inefficient. It took 20 minutes for it to start warning the air. And the temperature control is inaccurate and hard to find a comfortable setting.
- 4/5
Good price, the room has what you need, people is friendly and the Hotel location is fantastic!
- 3/5
Located in nice area. Many restaurants around. Hotel looks a bit bitten up and not renovated for many years.
- 3/5
Very very small rooms with nowhere to unpack and put clothes away…. If you plan an extended stay. Room service was good, but be sure you ask for it. To restock coffee pods, had to go to front desk All in all, $3,400 for 5 nights was a bit much However…. These are only my observations
- 2/5
For the price, the room was very small, it was freezing and it took a few calls to remedy the situation...there was denial and also "we've never had anyone complain before" insert eye roll here. It wasn't very clean, for $250 per night, it was pretty bad. The one good thing is that it is a good location to easily to walk to things. It's a room you're happy to leave.ll
- 4/5
Comfortable bed, good plumbing, quiet. Somewhat spartan and compact, but adequate. Would suggest morning coffee.
- 4/5
This is a basic hotel. However it is well priced, clean, safe and in an excellent location. The gym is a joke just get rid of it. I would stay there again.

Treated me as if I was going through TSA made me feel so uncomfortable, it was horrible I didn’t stay there and decided to get a different place and when I went up to the room there was signs of stuff broken and a horrible clean up job. It smelled so bad I just decided to stay elsewhere.

Central location, helpful staff.
- 3/5
The heating in the room was very annoying, it would either get super hot with dry heat or cold. We couldn’t find a neutral. Also booked the family room. It was quite annoying to only have one bathroom. The location was convenient. The front desk were pretty friendly overall. Probably would not stay here again, but it wasn’t terrible.
- 4/5
Room was clean. Small but enough space. Garbage pickup interrupted sleep from 7-8am but otherwise, very nice place!!
- 3/5
Hotel was ok, not awful but not good. Very old but moderately clean. Biggest complaint was the old heat/AC unit was SO incredibly loud, I had to turn the heat off and just be cold all night or else I couldn’t go to sleep.
- 1/5
I didn’t stay in the room or the hotel. My room smelled very bad. It was heavily orderized to mask whatever smell that was in there. I went to from the desk to explain and ask for another room. They didn’t have any other rooms. I took my bags, went to my dinner meeting. I tired to find another option but had to stay at a family members house out in NJ - all other NYC area hotels were sold out or profoundly expensive
- 3/5

The room was clean, the heater worked well and we had a nice view of the Eiffel Tower! Centrally located. Will be staying here again.
- 5/5
Great location, front desk was helpful. They even have a baggage storage service. Would recommend this hotel for a stay in New York
- 4/5
A/C is comfortable. Staff is ok, miscommunication regarding making the room, guest should have been alerted that they need to tell guest services that room need to made instead of sign outside room.
- 4/5
Great location! My daughter and I stayed four nights. The location of the hotel was fantastic for getting to the subway, shopping and food. I felt safe staying here & was able to be out late with no issues. This was a no frills kind of place. We requested an extra blanket & the room continently had a mini fridge. The room & bathroom were clean and cozy. The bed was comfortable. The only complaints I would have is the beds roll around on the floor and do not stay put and the neighboring room’s door closed very loudly.
- 5/5
Very large room for NY hotel. Had an amazing view of Empire State. Good location. Had coffee pot, small refrigerator, plenty of room for luggage. Would stay again!
- 4/5
Staff were nice. Able to safely store our bags before check in and after check out.

- 5/5
It was amazing
- 4/5
The staff, check-in, and location were wonderful. The room was OK - older and small, but that's NY. The bathroom was redone nicely. I stayed there in November so I didn't try the AC, but there is no heating so I did have to ask for another blanket because the room was CHILLY. Very centrally located, which is fantastic. I will say the walls are thin, so I had a chatty group of gals next door that I heard until midnight. I brought ear plugs and that solved the problem. Otherwise, though, a really great stay.
- 5/5

- 1/5
I booked for twin bed and got 1 king bed , poor internet no coffee and terrible service
- 4/5
Good experience
- 3/5
This hotel was fine for one night for the price, but I would never stay for more than that. The location was convenient and walkable and the staff was friendly. Our room was very basic but clean. Pillows were not good and bed wasn’t the most comfortable. Room was decent size for the city, I’ve stayed in much smaller, but bathroom was tiny. The security latch on our door was broken and walls were pretty thin. Overall, accept it for what it is - a decently priced place to rest your head for the night after a long day of 24,000 steps.
- 4/5
Good price, clean rooms.
- 5/5
The staff was excellent and the room was clean and adequate to our needs. Motel is in an excellent location close to many restaurants and stores. Enjoyed our stay.

Great stay at the Heritage. Room was small, but was well appointed. Safe, quiet area near some pubs and close to transit. Great value.
- 5/5
The room was a family suite and although it was small it was clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely accommodating. It was located in a great part of the city with easy access to the subway. I would definitely stay here again. Great hotel.

We got to our room and it was way smaller than what was presented in photos. You had to clime over bed to get Into room. Air conditioning did not cool room on very hot day and when we said we could not stay there they refused refund. Went through Expedia and I don’t believe Expedia did enough. They tried calling them a couple of times and then said they didn’t get any answer. It was expensive and we went to another hotel. I will say that I put a big part on Expedia for not helping more
- 4/5
Sufficient rooms. Everything is just in place. Basic Simple and clean hotel. The staff was very kind and friendly. Location is great!
- 3/5
I booked this hotel because of an available room with 3 twins. Me & my son had a guys weekend in NYC for his birthday. One of his AF buddies met us there. The location of the hotel is excellent. The hotel & room were clean. The staff we made contact with were very friendly & courteous. The bed was relatively comfortable. The a/c cooled the room well. The shower was hot with good water pressure. The problem with this stay for me was value. For what I paid for this hotel room, I could have stayed at a number of better places. The size of the room was small, but the size of the bathroom was rediculous. Literally... there was just enough room to stand in front of the sink with my back against the door. The toilet was like setting in a seat on a Spirit flight, and there was just enough room to step out of the shower. If the room had been 1/2 what I paid, it would be understandable. I/we've stayed at much nicer, and much larger room'd hotels. I would never consider this hotel again. I'm doing a solo trip to NYC 10/24, I definitely will not stay here.
- 4/5
Good view outside
- 4/5
My room was very small, however my daughter's was a decent size. I may have had a larger room if I had not requested a stall shower. This may have been the only available room that filled that requirement.
- 4/5
This hotel was perfectly adequate for what I needed. The air con worked. The bed was comfortable. There was a working shower. Is it luxurious - no. Is it functional and well positioned - yes.
- 5/5
Friendly staff
- 5/5
My daughter and I stayed here 3 nights and it was perfect. We felt safe in the neighborhood and there was a plethora of dining and shopping options nearby! Walking distance to local attractions (depending on how far you want to walk!) Staff was helpful when we had questions on navigating the city. Cute park nearby to enjoy your breakfast at in the mornings. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
Every thing was fine.
- 4/5
Easy to walk to attractions or close to subway. Clean room. Very thin walls - was awakened by next room’s alarm all the time.
- 5/5

Clean room nice beds and great showers, quiet and great location.
- 5/5
The hotel was great. Exactly as described. The rooms are small but well appointed and very clean. Everyone we encountered working there was very helpful and incredibly friendly. Can't beat the location either
- 5/5
Absolute great stay. We just needed a home base while we explored the city and this was nailed it. Staff was awesome, room was clean and comfortable and location was great. Just so you know, New York is loud at all times so if you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs. My only slight complaint is I wish the window exteriors were a little cleaner. Would definitely stay there again
- 5/5
Great and helpful staff
- 4/5
The property was close to a lot of places and we were able to walk. There were only two negative things to say, no wash cloths and the elevator was slow, other than that it was a really great place to stay and a great location. I would stay here again and recommend this place to others.

I stay at the Heritage every time I go to NYC. It's everything I need in a hotel.
- 5/5
The room was remodeled, clean, and had no issues. The room was on the smaller side, but average for NYC. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I was only here for one night, but the stay was great!
- 4/5
The staff was wonderful! Absolutely helpful and friendly. Allowed us to store luggage. Made change for soda machines. Gave recommendations. The hotel itself is in a great location! Quiet street, around the corner from a wonderful area. Overall a great stay.

- 4/5
Excellent location. Rooms on the small side but fine for our needs. Had an inner room so not much light through the window. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Noisy on the corridors with other guests ( floors are vinyl so carry noise) Close to subway and many places to eat nearby. Would stay again if visiting NY
- 4/5
Very nice staf very good place
- 5/5
Best staff we’ve encountered in years! Friendly and helpful always. Our room was good by NYC standards, enough space to move around, not a lot of space for unpacking. Large bathroom, no provided hair conditioner, fyi. It was a weekend and we were able to get free street parking directly across from hotel! Great location, walkable to Broadway, Union Square, Penn Station, lots of good food and bars nearby. Would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel for NYC. Helpful staff and nice flow around desk. Room has space and view much as expected. Easy to walk around and very comfortable.
- 1/5
Avoid at any costs. Extra dirty bed sheets and room and very noisy bed frames. AC was too old and wasn’t able to cool down the temperature, so we were not able to sleep the entire night. Stay away!
- 4/5
Id stay here again in a heartbeat. The service was great! The room was fine, bed was cozy enough (though sunk in the middle of the mattress, glad I was sleeping alone). The location is UNBEATABLE! So much to do and eat near by.

This has been the worst stay i have ever been. The hotel did not have face towels only bath towels and hand towels. In order to receive a new set of towels for the room I had to take the dirty towels to the front desk. Very unsanitary. The bathroom window was not frosted it was clear and the building next door could see in the bathroom. There was a bug in the bed. This was the a horrible experience

Our stay was great! The staff was very friendly and welcomed us each time we walked in the front. The area around is very walkable and we felt very safe, even when walking at night. You do have to request room service, but they were very responsive when we called or talked to the front desk.

Good location poor condition

Heritage Hotel is very conveniently located in a walkable, safe area with lots of dining, drinking, transport, and park options. While I respect a place’s check-in/out times this place made everyone in the lobby wait til 3 before they’d even deal with you at the desk so come 3 there was a big rush and wait (and I was warned checkout was the same way). Could they have checked if some people’s rooms were ready? Room was nice and comfy with a pleasant view. AC worked well (vital on the almost 90-degree day) but was old and noisy. Walls are also quite thin so you hear a lot of hallway and neighbor noise. Overall, a fine choice for a few days in the city. Would stay here again.

Nice Hotel that is in a great location. Staff are pleasant and efficient. Room is as advertised.

Great location in midtown. Really close to flatiron and short distance from Empire state building. Staff lovely. Room basic but well maintained. Good air con. Coffee in room and downstairs in lobby too. Liked this hotel

Good hotel! Very fairly priced and well maintained! Also in a great area near many subways and stores. Definitely would recommend!

Very good !

Stay was comfortable and the location was excellent!
- 5/5
Great service, comfy room. Easy location for activities.
- 3/5
The property is in urgent need of renovation. There was an unpleasant smell and people were smoking in the hotel.
- 1/5
Rude, unreasonable asking
- 4/5
Perfect location. Close to tons of restaurants, shopping and the subway. Older property but bed was comfortable, felt safe, and staff was very helpful. There was an odor in my bathroom when I got to my room which they serviced promptly.
- 4/5
The room smelt weird and the bathroom needs a deep cleaning. Other than that, the hotel was in a very good location.
- 5/5
You can tell that this is a mom and Pop run hotel. They've taken the time to look out for people and treat them like human beings. Can't beat the location for the price. Highly recommended.
- 4/5
Good location, quiet, but a block from midnight pizza, grocery store, and a couple blocks from subway! Elevators are older - so sometimes take a while.
- 1/5
Room not ready and no parking available untill 18h00, and in the mean time while i was unpacking the van and storing the luggage in the hotel I caught a God Damn Parking ticket. When we finally got the room, it was humid and hot, a/c couldn't chill the room, had to go for dinner. When got back noticed that there were only towels for 2. we were 4. was told that they'd have to charge an extra for towels and face cloths. No Breakfast in the morning. Staff was great but dispite that wasn't worth 455$ CAD for a night. NEVER AGAIN AND NE REFERAL BELEIVE ME

No face towels and park8ng is off site and EXPENSIVE!
- 5/5
Excellent stay!
- 4/5
Good hotel, in a good area, my room was too small. Could barely walk around the bed. If I stay again ... I need something bigger than the King room. The room doors are also very noisy ... a lot of clanking metal.
- 4/5
3 twin beds was great. Bathroom was very small. However on our last night our smoke detector started beeping at 3:02am and continued till we called the front desk at 3:30am and within 5 minutes someone was there who took the smoke alarm off the ceiling and out of our room.

I traveled domestic and international, and this is the first hotel that did not come with face cloths!! Even the jankiest motels have face cloths, so for them to be in NYC downtown Manhattan, with a view of the Empire State Building, have no face cloths and did not offer any. Furthermore, bathroom had hair in tub and didn't even have body wash to was up with. Unbelievable!
- 3/5
The night staff was great and accommodating. The power outlets didnt really work.
- 4/5
They don't have wash cloths. I typically bring a bath washing something, but forgot. I went down to front desk to ask for wash cloths, they said they only have hand towels (other than bath towels). Other than that, Property was great. Staff was nice.
- 4/5
Very comfortable two double bedroom with adequate space for three people and enough hangers. No storage in the handicap accessible bathroom. Coffee maker wasn’t located near electric outlet. Beds were comfortable and air-conditioning worked great.
- 4/5
Great location and lovely staff.
- 5/5
It was different but the staff was amazing! Very unique hotel!
- 4/5
Wonderful location, super warm and efficient staff. Surprisingly quiet for the neighborhood, the age of the building, and the price point. Cozy, but no complaints. An excellent stay for an excellent value.
- 5/5
Awesome location for major NYC sites walking distance! Coffee shop next door is awesome if WFH is needed and subway system is practically nearby while far enough for solace.
- 5/5
Read me!!! If you need a washcloth/face cloth.. the small square rags BRING YOUR OWN!!! They do not have these and you will have to bathe with the hand towel; the medium size towel!!!

Tranquilidad
- 3/5
Had a great stay, the hotel was clean and staff was very nice. However, the walls are paper thin. I could hear the people in the room next to me and across from me all night. Housekeep very loud, early in the morning, slamming doors and loud communication via Walkie Talkies.
- 3/5
Jai trouve des cheveux dans la douche. Le service de garde de valise est tres pratique .lemplacement est tres bien. Par contre tres mauvaise insonorisation des chambres..heureusement les voisins etaient calmes
- 5/5
The outside of the hotel doesn't look like much and you can definitely tell it's an old hotel. But once inside the staff was incredibly nice. The room was small but perfect for me and for the price I was pleasantly surprised. It was clean, the AC worked very well which was helpful since I was there during a heatwave. It was convenient and I would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Very quick and easy check in. Staff was courteous and friendly. Room was exactly as described. Good location.
- 5/5
The Heritage Hotel is a small and friendly hotel located a walking distance from restaurants and stores. The staff was very helpful and we were treated with a smile.
- 5/5
The staff were very welcoming at check in as well as every time we returned to the hotel. The rooms were a good size for our family of 6.
- 5/5
We will be back!!!

We came in around 3 am after searching for hours to find a place to stay after a rental car issue left us stranded. They were very nice and accommodating. This is an older hotel with good bones. The rooms have been updated but not completely renovated. It was very clean and had body wash and shampoo, which we were grateful for in our time of need. The rooms are smaller than most larger hotels now days but it is very doable for 2 people. I would not hesitate to book with them if I ever decide to go back to NYC. The bed was a 9 out of 10 and the pillows were great! The sheets were clean and smelt good. They have an elevator but it does have some tight spaces. I would recommend to a friend or family member.
- 4/5
Good hotel, great location. It was clean and service was also good. ** A note to other guests: this is an older hotel and the elevator and doors are 'of the period' of the building, making it very unique. However, it also means the doors on most floors are close together. Please be considerate of slamming room doors late at night! Please consider that there are other guests on the floor, and be empathetic! Guests in neighboring rooms, despite being after 10:30pm and 11:00pm, did not care about their door repeatedly slamming shut - on one occasion they wanted to make sure it was shutting, so they opened and slammed it shut 3 consecutive times within mere seconds - a GREAT way to invite conflict or altercation! Just saying. A small dose of 'situational awareness' goes a long way!

This hotel was in the perfect location for us with easy access to good food, transportation, fun things to do, and a park. It was clean and the people were so nice and helpful. We loved the very inexpensive baggage storage option for after we checked out but before we were ready to leave the city. It was also quiet.
- 2/5
Room very small , we could not even open the window to get some fresh air . Need a very good refresh . Overall I think for the price we paid per night definitely could stay in a better place and with breakfast .🙁
- 5/5
It gave me exactly what I needed - a room with two beds for my daughter and I to stay in that was clean and nice so we could explore the city for a very affordable price. We will be staying there every time we visit from now on!
- 5/5
The people at the Heritage Hotel were so kind. We had a wonderful experience staying there. For instance, we came in late at midnight and it had been the hottest day of the year in late June. The front desk worker was so kind to find extra ice for us. The room was clean and the location was so convenient.
- 4/5
Overall, it was a good stay. Our A/C unit kept getting warmer and made our room very humid and uncomfortable. Our second to last day, we requested it to be looked at. When we returned that evening, the window unit had been replaced with a new one! It was great. We wish we would have requested service earlier, but they should have made sure it was working properly before we checked in. The hallways are very narrow, and you could hear doors closing hard late at night and early in the mornings. We liked the location as well, with a fun “vintage” Chelsea flea market on the weekend across the street, and a CVS and supermarket at the corner, a great cheap pizza joint across from these, and entry to the Subway a few blocks away.
- 5/5
Fantastic place to stay! Very well located to be able to hop to whatever sub station you need to get anywhere! Stayed 9 days and not a single problem! Even knew where the good laundry mats where!
- 4/5
Hotel is very good. No complaints.
- 4/5
Good price for proximity to Broadway shows. Not the highest quality hotel but it works well for budget travelers.
- 3/5
This hotel is just ok. I was surprised at how small everything was - hallways felt like you were in an old apt bldg and the room was very small. The bed was ok but on a moveable metal frame that was squeaky and it was fairly noisy in the hallways in the morning. Location is good and service was ok.
- 5/5
It was a good stay, I’ll come back
- 5/5
It’s a nice and simple hotel. The building is old. The location is great. It’s very good for the price and for a quick stay.
- 4/5
The Heritage is on the older side. Rooms have bare essentials. The towels are limited supply and not accommodating when asked for additional towels. The rooms have been updated, but not the hallways. However, it is in a great location and a great neighborhood. The windows needs a cleaning on the outside. The view of the Empire State Building is hazy due to the dirty windows.
- 5/5
Quiet room, exactly as advertised. Great location as well.
- 3/5
Was just ok for the price.
- 5/5
It’s a great place to stay. You’ll be close to the heart of Manhattan.
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly and I loved the neighborhood. We had a room with a couch and that was great when we were in the room.
- 2/5
Good location, courteous staff, clean-- but really overpriced for what you get. The kind of place where they don't even give you a washcloth. Sofa was too lumpy to sit on. TV fuzzy with few channels. No closet, just a rack with 3 hangers. At that price you can do way better, even in New York. BTW this is the first time I have ever written such a review. Sorry.
- 4/5
The location is convenient easy to get around. It's recommended to travelers
- 3/5
La chambre est petite les lits ne sont fixé il bouge beaucoup donc tu peut pas dormir confortablement

Liked it all . Staff was excellent. Bed was comfortable.

It was just an overnight stay for an AMTrack trip to Niagara Falls
