Reviews
The Henry Norman Hotel is consistently praised for its clean, spacious, and well-decorated rooms, as well as its friendly and helpful staff. Guests appreciate the hotel's quiet location on the edge of Brooklyn, though some find it a bit far from public transportation. The hotel's breakfast offerings are a common point of contention, with some guests finding them limited or running out of options.

This hotel is a gem! The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The front desk staff are friendly and very helpful. My tip would be to ask for a room on the 3rd floor. I would definitely stay here again!

We always check for bedbugs. The bedframe could have been a bit cleaner. Buth thankfully like always, not a single bedbug or evidence thereof was seen! we would rather nothave to pay for breakfast, which is mediocre.

It was so charming! We loved the overall aesthetic, the stain glass windows and cool light fixtures in the lobby and the high ceilings in our room made it feel so spacious! We didn’t like that there was an “inactive bar” in the lobby. There is a pretty big bar there, but it’s only for show… would be such a great idea to get that working as a real bar, I think guests would really appreciate that. Also, the long pillows in the room are SO uncomfortable. The bed is so comfy and the pillows gave me such a bad headache, they should look to update them a bit!

The hotel was beautiful, the old hotel cars were soo fun and cool to look at. I like the old Hollywood esc to it. Staff were so kind and helpful. The room we booked was beautiful and spacious. The full kitchen was lovely, the mini bar and a lovely selection of snacks and drinks. Staff alerted and helped try to accommodate early check in. My group and I came states away and had called and contacted through booking.com messages and spoke to multiple hotel staff who said early check in may be available for free if room was clean , or pay a fee to expedite the service. We got there around 12:30Pm and asked and they said no that all the rooms were booked night prior and could not do early check in. So we walked around in hopes closer to the time would be good. There’s not really anything close close by, 15 min walk medicore restaraunts. Asked about early check in again 2:30 and they said not yet. Once checked in , they accidentally checked in the wrong person and gave us the wrong room when we had a big room. But fixed it and got us into our room.

My husband and I stayed at the Henry Norman for a short trip to see out daughter in early June of 2026 and were very pleased with our stay! The staff were so kind and helpful, and the room was lovely. Additionally, we loved the neighborhood-walking around at the local park and to various bars and restaurants. I can highly recommend the Henry Norman.

Location close to our daughter's apartment. Good for accessing subway to Manhattan / JFK. Large room well-laid out, especially for NYC. Close to park, restaurants. The address was not clear on signage, as a result I had difficulty with meal delivery. The price was higher than the last time we stayed, making it unaffordable for all but the most special occasions.

Love the high ceilings and that there were two closets. Beds were comfortable, even the sofa pull-out bed. The room needs another full length mirror outside of the bathroom, maybe on the closet door or on the wall that separates the bedroom and living room.
- 5/5
Location close to the airport; quiet; no waiting for elevator, etc. as with larger hotels; friendly and helpful staff Room could use a mirror outside of the bathroom/bathroom door; we didn't get housekeeping service as expected on the third day, but requested it the following day and it was provided; Thank you for providing gluten-free options for breakfast--

Convenient location for our family. Very Clean Staff was very friendly and helpful Room was big Soaps, hair products were good quality Bathroom sink area was tiny, with a second closet, would be nice to utilize that space for better bathroom layout Very little space to put things in bathroom. No place for anything in the shower, Only 1 mirror in the room, inside the bathroom door, and the towel rack was on top, not at all convenient. Our room was right next to the bus parking, very loud at all hours. No outlets for devices other than regular power outlets Nothing to write with Room service not daily and even when asked, only got 1 of our 2 days.

This is my second time staying here and it won't be the last. The staff has never been anything but extraordinarily kind. Better lighting immediately inside the entrance would be nice.

The rooms were extremely comfortable with luxury bedding. My only concern was the breakfast offered. Premade sealed breakfast sandwiches you heat in the microwave and bagels that seemed like they were from a grocery store when the hotel could (should)source delicious pastries and bagels from the many fine local bakeries and bagel shops in their neighborhood, keeping with their upscale vibe. Rest your head, skip the “breakfast”

The staff is just wonderful, esp. the front desk. Even housekeeping were friendly and very kind. We rented 4 rooms, 3 deluxe and 1 with the terrace which did not have a kitchen as the others did, but the terrace was spacious. Not much of a view but it was quiet and not windy on an otherwise chilly night. I cannot describe either of the two nights we stayed as restful. We woke up to the sound of the charter busses coming in late and again when they took off early, the parking lot being right across the street from our room that faced Henry St. Rooms on Norman St seemed to be much quieter. Additionally, the neighboring building started construction at 7am. I am assuming this has been going on awhile so the staff could have warned us when we checked in. Breakfast included some delicious pastry options but with two diabetics in our group of 5, there were no sugar - free options. This was not our first time to this location, so I was prepared but also hopeful there would be something.

I always look for the best deal. And that was the best deal considering crazy prices here in Williamsburg Brooklyn. Out of the crowd, very quiet area of Greenpoint ( too quiet ?), it is a very good option with great common spaces and breakfast included. Too much Art on the walls…..not the good art :)). Whoever did the interior design of the hotel did not do a good job.

Beautiful spacious rooms, very clean, easy to find nearby street parking & courteous staff. I have stayed at Henry Norman numerous times now and love this boutique style property! The staff is very friendly, accommodations are beautiful, and it is so convenient to restaurants and things to do. Also, the beds are super comfortable, which is important to me as I've had a major back surgery. I highly recommend if you are staying in Brooklyn!

I did not realize that the location was on the edge of an industrial area, but also borders the lovely neighborhood of Greenpoint. There are lots of parks, flat walking, and an interesting shopping area in walking distance. We had a delicious MIddle Eastern breakfast at Greta's, and delicious Szuan Chinese food at Breeze on Manhattan. I also did not realize how big Brooklyn is, and it was a Lyftt ride on a freeway to my niece's home from the hotel! All in all, the rooms were spacious, the staff fabulous and the hotel quiet. I would stay here again.

Breakfast was OK. Plain but was enough to get started. Did not have the breakfast the second day as it does not open until 8 and we had to depart. They charge a 35 dollar a day destination charge for amenities. They do not come and clean the room or replace towels until you have stayed 3 nights. When checking out I was told the fee was for amenities like the coffee maker in the room, the spa which is not open but you can ask them to turn it on, then you can go use 30 minutes later, and water bottles in my room. The funny thing is they charge the fee every you are there yet do not put new water bottles in your room each day or do anything for you the second and 3rd day. It’s just a way to get an extra 35 bucks a day for nothing. Disappointing.

- 4.5/5
Huge room. Very clean and comfortable. Room was quiet. Easily found street parking on the weekend. Safe neighborhood. Lots of cafes and bakeries in the area. Breakfast not worth 19$. Far from a subway station. Not many nice sit down restaurants. Unless you really want to be in Brooklyn I think it’s more convenient to stay in Manhattan and take the subway where you need to go.
- 5/5
Great staff - very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included - besides the fruit, more packaged items, bagels. Unique ambience and high ceilings makes it feel very open :). Expand some breakfast choices. Plain oatmeal would be nice. Items without cheese.

This small hotel is a gem! Very well-maintained and -run. Amenities include gym and sauna. Breakfast is available for a fee. Our room was spotless. My wife and I stayed in Room #1, which we were apprehensive about because it was in the lower level, next to the hotel laundry and adjacent to the street. But we did not hear a peep (and we stayed a weekend)! Plenty of street parking available, walkable (e.g., near plenty of eateries and bars), right next to public transport...cannot recommend enough!

We had an extended stay at the Henry Norman and stayed in few different rooms. All of them were spotless, tastefully decorated, had lovely linens and had attention to small detail to make the stay feel more lux. We could not have asked for a better stay. The staff was so helpful and pleasant!
- 0.5/5
Stayed here before, and back then it was great with a room upstairs toward the less noisy street side. Based on good experience, we returned. For our needs, the location is convenient. We were given a substandard basement room 10 feet below street and sidewalk level. Room descriptions like "view" and "soundproof" are ludicrous and just wrong, although the room is quite large, but with tiny windows directly facing the sidewalk and a noisy street. Sleeping was impossible and made worse by the noisy air-conditioning window unit right next to the bed, and noise from rooms above and the hotel laundry right next door. Those basement rooms should not be rented to people in a 4-star hotel, and the egress in an emergency is questionable. I wonder if to code. Upon requesting a different room, I was told the hotel is full, but booking.com showed at least 6 available rooms in the same category upstairs for the same night. Recent renovations of the common areas are not an improvement; substandard breakfast on paper plates is now served in a windowless basement area, not a nice way to start the day.

The hotel is on the edge of an industrial area, and it’s a nice, short walk to beautiful, tree-lined residential areas, and lots of cool shops and eateries. Ok, back to the decor. Beautiful wood, high ceilings, ok wait I’m just gonna attach some pics. I’m coming back for a week, because these rooms are more like a small-but-seemingly-spacious apartment, minus a kitchen! Seriously people, wow!! Just wow!

I would not book through Expedia again - it was frustrating and not customer centric. I would book directly through the hotel next time.

The Henry Norman has become our home away from home when visiting our son in Brooklyn. Love the coziness, the quality, the spaciousness, the excellence of the bedding, and the coffee, and balcony views from many rooms. We will be coming here for years to come!

This property is absolutely adorable and so clean. The room was a perfect size for my sister and I on our 4 days trip to NYC. Close walk to the subway, but also so close to incredible bars, restaurants, and night life in the Brooklyn area. 10/10 I will be staying here again!

I came to New York for a show at the Warsaw in the Greenpoint area of Brooklyn. The Henry Norman was a perfect location for the trip. It was a short walk to the venue. The neighborhood was walkable and felt very safe, even late at night. I enjoyed seeing the farmers market in the park nearby on Sunday, and there were several bars and restaurants within walking distance. The room was lovely and the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back there again.

I cannot say enough good things about this property! My family and I had a wonderful stay, the staff were abundantly kind, the loft was beautiful and clean. Loved every minute. It is in a cute area with lots to offer. Food, Park, Subway all accessible. We will definitely make this our go to hotel when we come to New York!

This hotel was really nice. I’m not a big fan of cities and was attending an event. The hotel was a 15 minute walk and there was a lot of places to eat nearby. The water pressure was great.

The hotel was very nice, our room was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable. Check-in was easy and the front desk guy was super friendly. Our only complaint was the noise from the street. It was insanely loud and kept us up into the wee hours. It would be helpful to have earplugs in the room.

The friendly staff and clean room made for a pleasant stay. The lobby area is a great place to relax or work. I would have appreciated a heads up about the daily room service needed to be requested at check-in. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’ll definitely be back if I visit New York again.

Unique boutique hotel in a very walkable neighborhood. Lots of restaurants to try out, especially if you like diners.
- 5/5
This little hotel is a gem!! Staff was attentive, friendly a d very helpful. Loved our room and the mini bar is grest!! Highly recommend
- 5/5
Really nice!
- 3/5
Clean and big room. Comfy bed. A couple of blocks from restaurants. I was a 2 night stay and housekeeping skipped me. It’s not a discount hotel so I expected service daily.
- 5/5
Impeccably clean, friendly/helpful staff, and quite luxurious atmosphere. No notes.
- 4/5
My only issue was that the rooms are not very sound proof even by hotel standards. Sleeping past 7 am was difficult between the loud guests in the room above us and the cleaning crew in the hallway.
- 2/5
No housekeeping service provided.
- 5/5
incredible staff
- 5/5
The staff is outstanding and the rooms are big and comfortable. Very quiet for the city, would definitely come back!
- 2/5
We were asked to sign a waiver upon arrival to agree to a noise policy and we later understood why. We were kept up by the guests above us, every step they took and door opening/slamming was very loud until around 2-3 AM. There was also some white crystals in the sheets (probably crystallized detergent). The entire hotel also had a kind of pub smell including our room. There was a bar on the first floor in the hotel, could be why. We were willing to overlook the location for the reviews but were disappointed for the price.
- 5/5
Great place to stay. Good neighborhood, very easy parking, great and helpful staff, and just...a really cool place to stay. It will become my "usual" place to stay when I head to NYC...
- 5/5
My second stay here and would recommend without a doubt! Beautiful boutique hotel in the quiet and well located Brooklyn neighborhood of Greenpoint. All of the rooms are unique, clean, and comfortable. An artsy and architectural wonder—you really have to see it in person. Amazingly kind staff, located near countless shops, restaurants, activities and transport! Perfect NYC stay!
- 5/5
SUCH a cute hotel, the pictures really don’t do it justice. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and it truly felt like a home away from home. Thank you Henry Norman staff for making our wedding weekend so special!
- 5/5
When we visit New York we always stay at this hotel. It is within walking distance of our daughter's flat, and has access to Greenpoint and Williamsburg eating, drinking and shopping establishments.
- 5/5
great place!
- 4/5
Always enjoy the stay. The hotel is unique in design and decoration making it fun. It is close to the hot spots in Greenpoint, short walk to parks, dining and transportation. Great restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries. It caters to the Brooklyn vibe and parents of the neighborhood.Rooms are spacious and well done. The issue for us is they only offer queen sized beds and the AirConditioning comes from a wall unit so the one off working of the unit can be a distraction. That being said, we always enjoy our stay
- 5/5
Very nice hotel!
- 5/5
Space is large, clean rooms, excellent staff…. I stay there often and will continue to do so.
- 5/5
Nice place conveniently located
- 5/5
FABULOUS staff!! PERFECT location! 5 STARS!!
- 5/5
Second time saying here. Very cool boutique hotel at the edge of a nice neighborhood. Street parking isn't too bad, grocery store nearby, and a subway stop about a 5-10 minute walk away. No bar in the hotel but they will sell you bottles and you can go to one of the two decks to enjoy them. A little pricy, but a much bigger space than most hotel suites.
- 5/5
Great people!
- 5/5
I just wanted to take the time to thank the front desk, especially Liliana (don't know if I spelled it right), Kenny and Sam for the help they provided.
- 5/5
I love this hotel. Beautiful rooms and impeccably cleaned. Friendly staff. Gorgeous building. Sweet neighborhood.
- 5/5
Our favorite hotel for work and vacation. Love everything about it, especially how incredible the staff is. We feel it’s our home away from home.

- 5/5
Spending time in Greenpoint or Williamsburg it’s a good place to stay
- 5/5
The place was very clean, and the rooms looked amazing! I would definitely recommend staying here again.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel. Artwork is beautiful. Our room was large and it had two balconies. Very clean very quiet. Will stay there again.
- 5/5
It’s a charming boutique hotel, with comfortable rooms and cheerful decor.
- 5/5
Clean and well presented, friendly staff.
- 5/5
Love the look and feel of this hotel is quite groovy, If you ask me.
- 5/5
Great place to stay!
- 5/5
Friendly efficient staff , room was fine but not very large
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel staff was excellent. We will come again.
- 5/5
We stay here often. Friendly and welcoming staff. Close to many restaurants. Beautiful big park nearby.
- 5/5
Unique boutique hotel! Great stay. Very clean with friendly staff.
- 5/5
Amazing room and clean
- 5/5
The staff is excellent and the facility and rooms are unique and beautiful. Two suggestions for the staff. My room had access to a patio via lateral blinds and sliding door. I’m 5’2” and the wand to open the blinds in order to raise them was way out of my reach. The blinds also could not be raised d huh enough to exit standing. I would also suggest checking the appliances provided. The hot water heater for tea prep wasn’t working. I have stayed here many times and highly recommend it.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Very cool place, very hip. Bathroom was nice ,bed was comfortable
- 5/5
The room attendants did a super job. Great neighborhood, nearby pretty park, delicious and cheap Polish bakery. Walking distance to most of Greenpoint and Williamsburg. Hard to beat for room and location.
- 5/5
Stayed for two nights for our daughter‘s graduation. Had her grandparents with us too. The rooms were so large, clean and comfortable with my daughter living in Brooklyn, this will be my go to place to stay.
- 5/5
Awesome little hotel in Brooklyn. There was a little bit of noise from my neighbor at night, but when compared to the rest of New York it’s a great quiet hotel.
- 5/5
Most everything about the hotel was great--except the sauna. The sauna was poorly designed with a cheap, under-powered heater that was not able to heat the sauna properly.
- 5/5
Large rooms, clean, friendly staff.
- 5/5
Boutique hotel on the edge of Greenpoint, up against some very industrial areas. Quiet, safe, friendly, and good breakfast.
- 1/5
The smallest room, the worst service . Location is in the middle of no where. Will never ever stay again
- 5/5
I will stay here again, when I need to work in the Greenpoint area.
- 5/5
I love this hotel. Great staff, nice neighborhood. Easy street parking. I’d stay here again
- 5/5
Amazing property..
- 5/5
A beautiful boutique hotel. Nicely appointed. A real gem in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. We will definitely return!
- 5/5
I have stayed at the Henry Norman many times over several years and it consistently exceeds my expectations. It is always clean (even the stairways), the staff is friendly (even those meticulously cleaning the doors), and the rooms are spacious. I highly recommend it.
- 5/5
My favorite hotel in Brooklyn
- 5/5
The Henry Norman is like no hotel I've ever been to in the best way! The decor is a beautiful mesh of retro and contemporary art. The rooms are significantly larger than most hotels for the same price. There are two out door areas so you can catch some air without actually leaving the property which is a plus. The staff are kind in their greeting and very accommodating. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the Brooklyn area looking for a beautiful stay that feels as personal as someones home with all the additional amenities of a hotel.
- 5/5
It was very unique, extremely comfortable and had a wonderful esthetic. Everything was lovely and very well done.
- 5/5
We loved the room. The hotel is very nice. We would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
Love it. Especially when employees are the best. We like staying at the Henry when in NYC. Keep up the good work and the nice facility.
- 5/5
I love this hotel, it's my 3rd or 4th time staying here.
- 5/5
I love this place
- 5/5
Such a cool place! We enjoyed all the artistic touches in this unique property. Wonderful!!
- 5/5
Henry Norman Hotel - and its two affiliate hotels in the Williamsburg x Greenpoint sections of Brooklyn - are among New York City's best kept secrets. Nowhere else in this town can one find such spacious and luxurious suites, at such accommodating prices.
- 5/5
We loved our large room and the convenient location.
- 5/5
Great spot in Brooklyn. On street parking, great clean big rooms and really nice staff.
- 4/5
Very good location, clean quiet hotel. I recommend!
- 4/5
Had a lovely stay here in town for a concert. The only thing I will say was the hot water took forever to get even like warm let alone hot. Other than that we loved our stay, and I would happily stay there again.
- 5/5
The Henry Norman Hotel was the perfect choice for our one week visit in NYC. More like a studio apartment than a hotel room. Well-appointed full kitchen, dishes, glassware, pots and pans and full-sized coffee maker. It's quite a hike to the subway, we only did it once, then decided the cost of a Lyft/Uber was worth it. Lots of walkable restaurants, bodegas, shops and nice park.
- 5/5
Nice spacious room. A little noisy on occasion but I think that’s just New York. Lots of good food options near by. And some pretty interesting minibar options
- 5/5
The room had a small kitchen and a couch with a desk and TV. It was roomy enough for my husband and myself.
- 5/5
Lovely as always.
- 4/5
Overall, I enjoy staying at the hotel. The bathroom, however, is not really set up well for a woman who has products with her and she needs space to lay them out. There is no ability around the sink to lay things out and the one shelf in the bathroom is above the toilet. So unless you remember to close the toilet seat, you were constantly at risk of things falling in the toilet. Another issue is the coffee set up. There’s a huge bag of coffee but no instructions, is that bag 6 cups, 8 cups,12 cups? and if it’s one person staying in the room, that’s a tremendous amount of coffee wasted if they’re just looking for 2 cups of coffee. as I said in the beginning, I like staying at the hotel, these are just some things I remembered when I arrived at my stay this time and I wanted to mention them.
- 4/5
I enjoyed this hotel - the staff was professional and courteous. The rooms were unique. My sole complaint is that in the afternoon of the evening we were going to a wedding, there was not enough hot water for showers - both for my spouse and for a family occupant of another room.
- 5/5
I can’t say enough how much we love the Henry Norman. It is our favorite hotel and our home away from home when we need to work in Brooklyn. Their staff is especially incredible. Truly thankful and we couldn’t recommend this hotel enough.
- 4/5
very nice. king beds would be better
- 5/5
I really enjoy the Henry Norman for the friendliness and proximity to my business needs.
- 5/5
I'll return for sure.
- 5/5
The service was great and the rooms are spacious for NYC.
- 5/5
The hotel is like new inside, including our room / bathroom. Every employee we met was polite, professional and pleasant. Highly recommend the Henry Norman.
- 5/5
Staff was great the suite was very clean and equipped with everything we needed the breakfast wasn't great need little upgrade on the selection but the hotel decor was extremely nice we enjoyed the one night we stayed and will come back
- 5/5
…
- 5/5
Looking forward to stay there again
- 5/5
Loved staying here! Everyone was so kind and helpful and the room was comfortable and worked perfectly for my needs. Thank you!
- 3/5
The room was nice but there was no hot water in the middle of the winter.. they let me go shower in another room but it was annoying and they didn't do anything to compensate for this
- 5/5
Stayed here multiple times. Wish a better location but very clean and maintained.
