This is a great hotel in a fantastic location. Easy to get to all the places. The rooms were super clean and the amenities were lovely. And the pool was a nice touch. Although the $150-$200 for the loungers were a bit expensive for 2hrs. I will absolutely stay here again!

Overall, the experience was satisfactory. Not a 5* experience but it was a comfortable stay.

Very nice hotel with large rooms (by NYC standards). Small but comfortable bar and a better than normal gym. While we usually stay in the SOHO/TriBeca area, we enjoyed the meatpacking district. We would definitely stay here again.

I had a great stay at the hotel. The location was great, in the heart of Meatpacking, and walkable to other great neighborhoods. The hotel was clean, the room spacious, and the staff friendly. Definitely would stay again!

Great location. I expected more drawers and clothes storage. Plus a fridge that I could use personally without mini bar stuff in. Plus being able to access ice for my room. I don’t think I would return to this hotel, for the price of more than $700 a night my room was very small and didn’t feel like a 5 star hotel experience. I also didn’t like that the rooftop bar and first floor restaurant share the same food and drink menu?

Although this hotel may be pricey, it is worth it for the location, size of the rooms, rooftop bar, outdoor cafe and quiet rooms. It’s rare to find a place where you get quiet sleep, especially on the weekends. The windows were so thick, I didn’t hear a thing outside. Yes, I could hear occasional voices in the hallway, but nothing major. The rooms aren’t huge, but you have plenty of room to set up luggage racks etc. Shower pressure was acceptable and they provide high quality shampoo, soap, even tiny toothpaste tubes. We loved just walking out the door to get right to the Highline, Whitney Museum, Chelsea Market and many great restaurants.

Short break in New York staying in the heart of the Meatpacking district. Centrally located upmarket hotel with everything required found in this hotel. Rooms nice size with large comfortable bed and large bathroom with shower. Hotel has a pleasant rooftop bar and outdoor pool. Area around hotel feels very safe and comfortable with plenty of dining options within a short walk as well as high end shops. Subway system a short walk so ideally placed to explore New York.

Great hotel for our family, the kids loved the pool, we can walk everywhere. It would have been nice to have a coffee machine in the room!

The location was great as were the staff. There are only a couple of lifts and as the rooftop is used as a bar you could be waiting for sometime for the lift to be able to access your room or leave your floor. Rooms were fine but fairly basic bathrooms (basic shower head over the bath)

This hotel is in a great location and has friendly staff. The facilities are exceptional, including gym an infrared sauna. Roof top Bar and pool are also good.

Hotel needs to be upgraded as it is getting a bit old and long in the tooth. I had to switch rooms because the heater wouldn’t turn off. However, the staff was excellent.

I would have loved to see a plus-size option for the robe and larger towels. I would have loved to have breakfast included. I ordered Instacart. It would have been wonderful if the front desk had automatically delivered it to my room. These are all things that would be awesome extras, though, and did not take away at all from the wonderful experience I had.

Convenient location, you can walk to wherever you please. Rented a daybed by the pool for 2 days, on day one I showed up at 4 :00 p.m. as my reservation stated that I had the daybed from 2:15 PM – 4:15 PM & 4:20 pm-6:20 PM. My daybed wasn't ready when I arrived on day 1. I had to show the pool attendants my confirmation email twice to prove that I did in fact rented a daybed. The following day, I'm in the elevator on my way to the pool, I assume this person was a manager, asked my name after I mentioned I had an incident at the pool yesterday with my daybed not being ready. Instead of apologizing, she blamed me for not showing up at 2:00 p.m.! Blame the patron, classy, professional, great customer service ?! You see, when I reserved the daybed I was told that I will be charged regardless of whether I showed up or not. So even if I had showed up at 5:00 p.m. my daybed should have been ready and waiting for me. Get your life together honey. My money is just as green as everyone else that patronize your hotel.

The location was perfect. The price was NYC during the holiday pricing. The rooms were very nice. I chose the hotel as a fun experience with my niece to swim on top in the winter chill with the heated aspect. But, they had just changed the water and it was polar plunge material which was not doable for us. It was literally the reason we stayed there and the fact that I was excited to eat at the sushi restaurant upstairs which was closed due to renovations.

The room had a lovely view on the 7th floor and the various amenities in the room - the great snacks, the soft lighting - were very nice. I had thought I reserved a dual queen room but the food out sofa bed was comfortable. The housekeeping staff was very responsive as were all the staff. We would definitely stay again!

The room is OKish, very clean, but poor furniture. Part of the wall paint was bubbly and came off in room 601. The rooms have the most ridiculous door design for the bathroom - a sliding door that does not close. Hence zero sound proof, zero privacy. The rooms are 0 sound isolated towards the floor hallway and you hear every step and door shut and open 24/7. The lobby and elevators as well as gyn were not super clean. Gum was dusty and poorly cleaned floors. The staff was unable to provide an Iphone charging cable for free - unheard of in a 5-star hotel. Front desk staff was uninspired and not attentive, at night (10pm) front desk was unattended entirely. Bellboy was very good and on point. Stood out among staff. Will certainly not book or stay again at the Gansevoort. Overpriced, not at all worthy of 5-stars. Rather 3- stars given all of the above.

Stayed 12/20/25-12/22/25. I loved the location. Away from the craziness (crowd and traffic) but walking distance to other neighborhoods with lot of choices of restaurants. It is also 5 minutes walking distance to Chelsea Market. Staff was very attentive.

The room was very nice and larger than expected; however, housekeeping began knocking on our door at 9:30am on the day of our checkout so they could stay cleaning the room. Despite us clearly explaining to the housekeeper that we would be there until noon (which is the standard check out time), she knocked four additional times between 10am and 11:40am.

Always a pleasure staying at this boutique hotel. It’s in the perfect location near Chelsea market in the meat packing district. You can even walk downtown from here. This is where I will stay everytime I go to NYC.

At the bar at the Gansevoort Meatpacking, the Food & Beverage Manager, saw me enter, had me wait approximately 10 minutes, then canceled my drink order and abruptly said the bar was closed. The interaction was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. Hospitality and amenities are the reason guests choose a hotel, and this experience failed on every level. As a paying guest, I felt unwelcome and disrespected. Based on this experience, I would never stay here again and strongly advise others who value service to look elsewhere. a star-rating recommendation, I can do that

Good location, one (long) block from the subway. Rooftop was cool but there was a private party there on the night we tried to check it out. Room was comfortable but no coffee pots in the room.

I stayed one night for a girls night out and the room and amenities were excellent. The staff was very friendly and professional. My only issue was check in is at 3pm, we arrived at 3:05pm and our room was not ready yet. We waited about 20 minutes to get our room.

Good breakfast, great convenient location. Mattress was too soft and got a sore backache. One of the lighting switches wasn’t working. The toilet flush handle hand to be depressed really hard for it to flush. Temperature control didnt work.

The service, facilities, and room was very accommodating and comfortable for my quick work trip. I especially appreciated being able to store my luggage securely during the day after checkout while I was at an event. The one downside to the experience was the amount of fragrance used in the rooms. It was a bit overwhelming. If it is possible to ask for fragrance not to be used (it’s unclear if it’s pumped through the vents), that would be great!

The hotel is very well located. Walk to shops and dining. Lots of great options. Hotel itself has some beautiful bars but one was closed for private events the entire time of our stay. Rooftop bar has great views, friendly staff and good food. DJ was playing music but it was so loud for such a small space. Hard to talk across our small table. Overall would recommend for a weekend get away.

Amazing location in the heart of the meatpacking area - 2 min walk from Chelsea Market. Really nice, clean, modern and big rooms - unique for new york hotel rooms! Easy to walk to west village and soho. Pool was amazing. Very minor things but there was not a proper door on the toilet / bathroom - it was a sliding door that didn't stay closed so not ideal. The towels were also tiny and the pillows average but these are minor things in the scheme of things!

Terrific room with a view. Clean, had all the toiletries one needs, and room service was great. My objectives were: to be able to walk to the Whitney, the Highline and then to the Chelsea galleries. So the Gansevoort was a perfect stay. Nothing.

We lived our stay. The service is always impeccable and the employees helpful and nice. Truly exceptional. One bad thing was that our blackout shades kept stopping working— not convenient at midnight. With everyone in pajamas didn’t want to let engineering come in to fix it. Annoying but still an amazing hotel and next time I’ll make sure the shades work before unpacking. We got a room up high with a great view so zero complaints there. Are at Le Coin and C&C— bot both great. Be aware kids not allowed poolside after 12noon (I definitely understand why)— just be aware.

The staff is so attentive and helpful, it just made our stay so much more pleasurable!

A first class hotel. Great service, great location, great facilities, great food (coffee/pastries at the bar). My new go-to for NYC.

- acoustics: the rooms are far from sound masked. You hear absolutely everything as evidenced by seeing sunlight through the doors in the hall - pool area: the hotel has some membership program which led to no chance on 3 day trip to get a seat by the pool. This area was also not being cleaned so to sit by edge of pool had to move peoples dirty plates - check in early fee: appreciate many us hotels now charge for early check in, 150 usd seems steep and ultimately is just charging their customers for a room that is ready and available for them. - no turndown service: always appreciate when hotels offer this but was not provided here.

Amazing location, staff, room, and amenities.

The room was unusual. I got a suite and it was tiny. The shower was unusually small about 12 inches from the toilet. And the room / seating area basically unconnected. Couldn’t get down the hall between the two with the door open. Shouldn’t use this room. It was room 617.

Great location and high quality amenities, but they have to do something about their guestrooms doors slamming. I woke up literally every night from neighboring guests just going in their room late early am - even if you try to be quiet the doors SLAM themselves shut rocking the whole room.

Hotel staff was lovely and the common areas were nice too, however the rooms were meh. Room was a good size but did not seem renovated. The bathroom was especially gross. They also had minimal toiletries for a hotel of this nature. I was kinda surprised. The pool area was fabulous and the rooftop bar was spacious and so was the ground-level restraurant.

First time staying in this area and I found the hotel and surrounding area to be a lot of fun. Great room and nice restaurants in the hotel. The view from the pool was very cool. Staff were very helpful. Lots of things to see and do within a short walk.

I loved staying at the Gansevoort with my husband and toddler! Such a lively spot and the staff was helpful and accommodating. I loved our room and view and the bed was super comfortable! All around a great experience and we will definitely be coming back.

Valet people and door men were friendly. It’s very interesting how you valet a 120k car and the front desk staff can’t give you proper directions on how to pick it up after hours. Parking garage tells you give ticket to hotel, people at hotel tell you keep ticket. Properly train your staff on how someone picks up their car after hours.

Some staff were extremely friendly and some very much less so. Try to ask for top floor rooms. Mine was in third floor with a view of a wall from my window. No coffee machine in room. Didn’t know I had vouchers for free drinks until I chirped out. Check in person was extremely unhelpful and non-informative

This is the second time I’ve stayed here in 6 months. The staff are friendly. The hotel is clean and the rooms are spacious for NYC. The area is fabulous - I love this part of the city.

We lived our huge room and proximity to the west village and Broadway

Loved our stay. Although the room cost for the extra sofa bed should have meant the room was a little bigger than it turned out to be. Says ok for sleeping 3 adults but the sofa bed wasn’t appropriate for an adult. Shame brekkie wasn’t included in the cost and they tried to add extras for using the pool and gym but we appreciated them being taken off the final bill given the already high cost for the hotel.

I LOVE this hotel. Best location. Best rooftop bar. Comfy large room with a lovely view of the Hudson! I will be staying here from now on!!!

The reception desk definitely needs more knowledge of the area a proper concierge would have been brilliant. The housekeeping also found my daughters nightie top and kept me up to date with emails I thought this was above and beyond

This was an outstanding stay in a great area. The staff were amazing and our room was perfect. It's a great area for exploring NYC and convenient to all kinds of activities and options. We will definitely stay here again.

The property is in a great location. Service is excellent.

Very underwhelming stay here. Room quality was poor for the price and compared to other Manhatten hotels. Staff was curt. Water wasn't provided in the rooms. Generally a very mediocre hotel that advertises as 5-star.

In room temperature wouldn't go below 77 degrees F. When I complained to the front desk they said hotel was in "winter mode" and there was nothing they could do. The hallway was cooler than the room.

This hotel is decent enough. Well located in the meatpacking district with a nice roof top bar. Room was adequate and comfortable, however, I wouldn’t agree with the 5 star rating. It’s a 4, maybe 4.5 star. I was suprised that there is no in room coffee maker, which is standard nowadays. I booked this hotel specifically because I am hotels.com gold status and was supposed to get free drinks and a free room upgrade. The free drinks were lovely but they wouldn’t honour the room upgrade because the next available room was a suite. I don’t hate this hotel at all, but it’s nothing amazing either

Rooms were great and comfortable. Staff was exceptionally nice. Restaurants were pretty. It was a conveniently located hotel and we had an amazing trip. I would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend it. We stayed for a family visit to the city with two pre-teen children.

Loved the area!

I stay at the Gansevoort every few months, and the reason for me is the lobby Staff. The Bellmen know me by name (or pretend to) and always give me a warm greeting from the moment I arrive.

The AC in the room didn’t work well.

The rooms are super clean and very comfortable (and have a bathroom door which lots of design hotels seem to not have any more and I don’t want to see my friend go to the toilet!) The staff were very friendly and attentive. I enjoyed it so much I’ve booked to go back in a month with my husband and kids.
