Guests generally appreciate the hotel's convenient location and friendly staff, but have issues with the elevators and breakfast. The rooms are described as clean, but some guests have experienced problems with the TV, shower, and temperature control.

I liked that it was next to MSG (We had a concert there). and close to Penn Station. Also that the hotel served breakfast, and best of all it had laundry service. Overall the stay was perfect. I don't have anything to say about, what I didn't like. We enjoy our hotel, and it's amenities.

Location excellent for access to Penn Station Room simple but ok and bed comfortable No water to take a shower in the morning or to brush our teeth. We were given a bottle of water that was then BILLED TO US! Now we are getting small amounts billed to our credit card (the one we showed for “security”. THIS IS NOT SECURE FOR US!!! I am going to ask the bank to stop paying you.

The staff were very attentive and helpful. The breakfast choices were very good and the dining area was kept nice. There was coffee in the lobby at all times, and they made fresh decaf coffee later in the evening when we asked for it. The rooms were clean and bed was comfortable. We had 3 rooms and my Uncle's room was not ready until 5:30pm which was problematic since he is 88. There was a cleaning cart in the hallway of our floor (6th fl) 24/7 and we had to walk around it when exiting the elevator or visiting family's room. The elevators often didn't work and there were long waits which made them very crowded.

The rooms are clean but I always prefer to Get the bigger room close to the Train station.

Perfect location for my elderly parents. Traveled by subway and uber without any problems. Entire staff were amazing.

My stay was great. Room was perfect. I walked to all restaurants and attractions. Whole Foods is nearby which was great I didn't have a view.

I had a fabulous experience at The Penn Station Fairfield. It’s in a great, convenient location right across the street from Penn and MSG- and a few blocks from Hudson Yards and Times Square. The room was clean and spacious and the staff were always cheerful and helpful. The daily breakfast exceeded my expectations in choice and variety. It’s not continental like a lot of hotels- eggs, meats, waffles, sausages, oatmeal, pancakes and more. I would surely stay there in my next trip to NYC. Maybe the elevators could be speedier

Walk out the door of Moynihan train station (Amtrak) and into hotel. Staff welcoming and helpful. Breakfast (about average for hotel buffet) included. Took train, left my bag with them, checked in late evening. Gave them bag the next morning and went out for the day. 5 pm picked up bag and walked across the street to station. Not cheap but reasonable for NYC these days. Easy access to a variety of subway lines in the area. Bedside plugs were there in lamp which is good, however the plugs I brought with me weren't configured for what they had. I was able to jerry rig. Electronics a bit outdated (have 3 prongs and USB in lamp but not newer connections)

For a solo female traveler who takes Amtrak, this hotel is right across the street from the Moynihan Center, making access to it quick and safe. Also, when the season is right, the rooftop bar has amazing views.
- 5/5
Staff was professional and courteous. Daniel (front desk) went above and beyond checking me in even at an early arrival due to transportation scheduling issues.
- 3/5
Location was good - assuming you want to be in the area of Penn station / Madison Sq. Gardens. Concierge was very helpful, as were the cleaning staff. B'fast was very limited and of poor'ish quality; some days they ran out of what was already a very limited offering. Room small for 2 people - even Tokyo was bigger. And worst of all, there were no hooks to hang up coats on the wall as you come in. Wardrobe was okay; there was only one small desk chair. I also noticed on 2 nights of our 9 night stay that the daily rate was almost double - and it wasn't a weekend.
- 4/5
We liked the room and the staff Breakfast was extremely limited and the quality does not fit a 4 star hotel

Room had been freshly cleaned and cleaned well. Breakfast had a variety of options. No parking needed as it's right across from the Amtrak station.

The room was super clean, the gym and the water area was clean. I had a great time at the bar, the bartenders were awesome. My issue is that I had called two months before my stay and asked about a mini fridge. They had told me that it was available upon request and I said am I able to request one now staff said yes of course so I said perfect, I would love a mini fridge and when I got there they said it was first come first serve and there was none available and there was nothing they could do about it so I was extremely upset about that because I had planned for there to be a fridge in my room upon arrival.
- 4.5/5
Excellent value for money. The location couldn't be better, with Times Square and the Empire State Building both within walking distance, making it incredibly easy to explore the city. It also has a really nice rooftop that is great to visit at night and get an amazing view of the city. Having breakfast included was a wonderful bonus that saved us both time and money each morning. The room itself was lovely, and the shower in particular was a real highlight. Lastly, we had a late flight on checkout day, they kindly let us leave our luggage for free so we could keep enjoying the city without any hassle. Highly recommend for anyone visiting NYC. On the flip side, the room faced an alley with no natural light, not unusual for New York, and honestly not a dealbreaker since we spent most of our time out exploring the city. We also opted for an early check-in, which carries a $75 fee. Again, pretty standard for NYC, and the hotel communicated this clearly in advance so it came as no surprise.

We stayed because it was directly across from Moynihan Train Station which is where we needed to be by 6 AM to get a long distance train.

Great location and spacious rooms for NYC. Penn train station is directly opposite the hotel and a sub just outside to the left. Nice walk into Times Square. Considering MSG is over the road, it was quiet on an evening. We were in room 1009 on the front and had no issues at all. Bed was super comfy (I am a massive bed snob). I slept well & comfortable throughout our stay. Bathroom was a good size. Clean and basic toiletries of soap, body wash & shampoo & conditioner included. The bottled water left in your room is charged at $5 per bottle. Target is a block or two away so we just went there to purchase. Breakfast was plentiful and of good quality. Always replenished quickly and efficiently. The servers were so lovely and kept the place looking clean at all times. We were handed blue bands to gain access to breakfast but these were pointless. They weren’t checked on the first day so we didn’t take them for the remainder of our stay and had no issues. All staff were polite & friendly. The gentleman who helped with storing our luggage especially was very warm and welcoming. Telling me to be safe any time I left the hotel which I thought was really lovely of them. The ladies in the breakfast hall as mentioned were also so lovely too. The biggest annoyance I had was at check in. Although check in was smooth & prompt, he gentleman asked for a card for the $100 hold fee which was fine. I provided my credit card. We weren’t offered the complimentary bottled water that we witnessed others were. However, on check out, I was told our account had been settled in full and they money taken from said credit card. Very annoyed as the gentleman on check in didn’t mention this would be the case and only stipulated it was for the hold deposit. Due to this, we have now been charged a ‘foreign transaction fee’ by Virgin. I did express at check out that I wasn’t informed of this and I would now be charged additional fees. (Was planning to pay with our Stirling account to avoid said fees), however it was too late. The water refill machine down near the gym is terrible. It’s so slow and the water didn’t taste great. This wouldn’t put me off staying here but it definitely could do with improvement.

The place of hotel right in center of midtown, very convenient to get anywhere to eat, get the subway and buses. The speed of personal work needs some improvement, we got the fridge by request it is good, but we requested twice, also we had the issue with youtube connection on TV, we asked for help, we were said that the helper will get in the room to see the problem and no one came
- 5/5
Location, close to Penn Station and subway. 1 subway stop from midtown /times square. Nice room, nice breakfast. Staff were great. Should just have a fridge in the room. Should not be on request. A microwave would be nice too. For 300-400 per night all in, these should be included.

Location from Penn Station to the hotel can’t beat it Staff always greets you with a smile and Danny remembered me from my last stay back in December, now that is the personal touch, love it Kitchen staff attentive to keeping the area clean and always pleasant and well as the bag handler that I left my bags with while out of the hotel The only think I can think of is perhaps adding hard boiled eggs as a breakfast option

Location! So convenient to Moynihan hall. When traveling on international flights, we no longer fly out of our local Airport. We take the train to nyc, & if need be, stay at Fairfield/Marriott on one end of the trip. Nothing

Location is convenient if you take Amtrak. Staff was excellent
- 5/5
Location was excellent. Right across the street from Penn Station. Madison Square Garden was right down the street. Parking was reasonably priced which Marriott covered. Subway entrance was a short walk from location. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was Excellent (very well stocked and looked after). Room was on the back side which didn't have a view. If you went to rooftop when Restaurant/Bar was open. The views up there were Excellent (you can get some good sunset pics). Rooms were very small but understandable.

- 3.5/5
Location was directly across from Penn Station and MSG which was perfect for us. Centrally located to many other sites and restaurants within walking distance. The view may be lovely from the upper floors but the rooftop bar has loud disruptive music until late. The free breakfast was inedible. Food was cold and poorly prepared. We tried it our first morning and skipped it the rest of our stay.
- 5/5
Room was clean; Staff friendly and helpful; breakfast had a variety of choices.
- 5/5
The breakfast was a bit disappoint they were remodeling the breakfast area. We booked the hotel bc of the deluxe continental breakfast, but that wasn’t a thing. As a vegetarian options were super limited. The front desk staff, specifically Marc and the guy with braids (didn’t get his name) were so helpful and it felt like coming home each day. We were there for a week and would stay again if ever in NYC again
- 4/5
Very clean and convenient The breakfast was a bit lack luster but the ambiance in the breakfast room was lovely with nice music playing! Very nice!
- 2/5
Mainly the location At the last minute they decided to close the main dining room for breakfast. Thus is not professional service . They knew Easter was a big holiday. Should have already done . For the price I paid service did not match. It was a problem getting my room cleaned in a timely manner.

- 2/5
The location is the only pro. The room had a strong sewage odor. I reported it to the front desk, but nothing was done to address the issue. The staff didn’t seem interested in helping and were not particularly friendly. Breakfast options were very limited, with almost nothing edible and it’s not an overstatement. The bread and pancakes tasted almost like plastic. The only pastries available were prepackaged muffins, and overall, the food quality was very poor. Additionally, the bedsheet had a hole. Overall, the hotel does not feel like a 4-star property.
- 4/5
Most of the staff was friendly. The room was clean but we got a dirty towel. Overall a good stay.
- 4/5
Perfect stays no complaints
- 4/5
Bed was not comfortable.
- 2/5
The wallpaper was peeling and stained with what looked like maybe wine. The bottom bedsheet was on inside out and it kept pulling both it and the mattress protector any time you moved, so I kept waking up sleeping on a bare mattress. The blankets were stained and the sheets were very thin and felt like a low quality. All that said the bed was very comfortable. Our toilet seat snapped off at 8pm and I immediately called down to the front desk. They said they would send someone up. An hour and a half later no one had shown up. I went down to th n front desk to ask about it and he looked confused, asking if no one has shown up. I said no and he said someone else would be up shortly. Half an hour later he showed up and was confused. He said he'd already been up to fix it, I said no we were in the room the entire time and no one had fixed the toilet. He backtracked and said maybe he was sent to a different room by mistake. He had to go in and out 3 times because he didn't grab the right parts. He finally got it done, 2.5 hours after we had reported the issue. Overall I don't think it was worth the price. Maybe we got an older or less used room but it really felt like a let down. Maybe I expected more from the 4 star ranking, I won't make that mistake again.

Comfortable bed, hot shower, requested fridge was bought up right away Elevator waiting time

- 4/5
The staff was nice. We had an issue in our room. We went to the front desk and they moved us to another room. Once we got to the other room there was a sign on the door saying not to enter until management approval. We had to go back down to get a manager and I asked him to escort me up to look at the room.
- 3.5/5
Good central location so travel to main attractions doesn’t take long. Walking distance to MSG and Times Square. Close to subway stations, and right opposite Penn Station for Amtrak and Long Island Rail Road. Large, spacious room. Friendly staff that allowed us to have a late check out with no problems. Requested a fridge for our room which was also supplied quickly. Breakfast wasn’t great as the only vegan options were cereal and fruit. They were undergoing maintenance so the breakfast was located in the lobby so maybe they usually have more options but on this occasion options were very limited. Room doors closed very loudly so constant banging was very annoying as hotel guests were not very considerate.
- 5/5
Unfortunately construction had breakfast area closed so they had limited grab and go, but in NYC, great bagels are on nearly every corner

Poop stains on the sheets the first night ! I was given sheets to make the bed ! Then asked to switch rooms as obviously this bed wasn’t clean! Second room had a broken toilet and was directly next to elevators so you listen to cables raffling all night ! Third room broken toilet seat ! I had kids with me so obviously after the first mess we were no where near our connecting room ! Our second room wasn’t handicapped accessible so my sister couldn’t shower ! I paid 2 grand to have to move 3 times and be asked to clean my own room !! And god forbid Marriott make it right! I will say Shea And the other gentleman at the front desk did their best to make everything right but when the cleaning and maintenance folks fail at their jobs every body loses ! Very disappointed

Hotel was clean, staff was very nice. The room are very small. Hotel.com picture of the Deluxe King is not accurate. You can barely move around in the room. The room was clean, quiet and spacious. The bathroom supplies, however, were not adequately stocked and so I quickly ran out of tissues and shower gel. I also thought that offering two bottles of water upon check-in and not mentioning that those would be for my entire three-day stay was a bit deceptive. When I asked for one bottle the second day, I was told that it was not policy to hand out bottles of water after the initial two as if it was obvious. Most importantly, the included breakfast was so mediocre it was almost shameful. It would be so much better if Fairfield prioritized quality over quantity. On my last day, there weren’t even any bananas and the bread, of very poor quality to begin with, was stale. The breakfast manager should inventory what is left over each day and would realize that most travelers do not want to eat ultra processed stale white bread.

Everything was great, the only bad experience was the woman working the desk around 10:30AM on Monday morning 12/15. She was very disrespectful and had an unpleasant attitude for no reason. I asked her about validating my parking and she huffed about it and got very irritated. She then proceeded to tell me she wasn’t going to do it because she didn’t have the program on her computer and didn’t feel like moving to another. Just not a kind person and I was not rude at all. I would recommend removing her from that role into another.

The cleanliness of the room was not up to par... dingy towels, bed spreads, needs to be freshened up. I paid nearly $800 for one night here, i would expect much better. I will skip this hotel on my next visit

Everything about our stay at Fairfield Inn was amazing. The view from our room was stunning, staff was courteous, location was perfect, and the ability to check in luggage for early arriving/late departing flights made travel days hassel free and allowed us to make the most of every minute spent in the city.

For a 4 star hotel in New York, over £350 per night, the breakfast was one of the worst I have ever experienced from any hotel. The oy hot food available were sausages that were disgusting, scramnldd eggs that were very wet, toast that was subpar, waffles one day which was probably the only yummy thing but even they were very dry and unhealthy. They had a wide selection of u healthy snacks like muffins, brownies, cookies... then for sandwhiches they had spreadables like Nutella... but absolutely no lettuce, tomato, cucumber or ang form of salad to actually make a sandwhich. Absolutely awful. The food is also pretty gross..

As soon as I got to the hotel, I was told that I had been relocated to a different hotel due to. Them being down 15 rooms at this hotel. OK, apparently something happened with the electrical, or they had some other kind of problem. He stated that they sent me an email, but I never did receive an email. I understand that things like this happen, however, when coming in from a different city and you schedule a hotel for a specific geographical location, This ends up being more than just an inconvenience. Also, the hotel that They sent me to was a downgrade. It was a smaller room with a smaller bed. You would expect to be offered some type of compensation for this, or a refund. However, they didn't do that.
- 5/5
Very accessible to get around. Great convenience

Very friendly and helpful staffs. Clean bathroom, spacious room in the city. Only the room is in old style, wish they would be updated in the future. Personally preference, I like flooring more than carpet which feeling unclean

You can visit here with all peace of mind. Clean, comfortable, spacious rooms compared to New York standards. You won't experience the elevator and cleaning issues of other hotels or the fee charged for checked luggage at this hotel. It's a true Bonvoy hotel. I realy loved fairfield inn ✌️and also to use train very easy

Nice breakfast
- 4/5
We enjoyed the location because we needed access to Penn station for subway and NJ transit. Traveled with 2 teenagers. Easy walk to Hudson yards. I always wake up earlier than the family and enjoyed coffee or teas every morning in the dining area. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel but there were numerous options and having juice and milk was helpful. The only negative would be that the elevators were on the slower side ( stayed on 20th floor), but staff was helpful, comfy beds and clean room! Would stay here again! Beautiful view from our room!
- 4/5
There was no coffee available in the lobby before breakfast. I was told there is a coffee maker in the room but the rest of my family were still asleep and I didn’t want to wake them. Loud machine

We didn’t get room cleaning done after requesting it on our 3rd day staying. Also TV wasn’t working so we had to get it serviced. However, it still wasn’t working property after resetting. We ran out of body shower gel and had to request it at late-night.

To be able to walk and push my son in his wheelchair to Madison Square Gardens for a concert was priceless. The staff was very friendly. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Room was clean, rooftop bar had a great view. Definitely will stay here again.

Perfect location.

The sheets and blankets had yellow stains on them and when we ask for fresh linen they also had the same stains besides that, the view was ok
- 4/5
We loved how close this hotel is to public transportation and areas of attraction. Personally, I thought the beds and pillows could have been more comfortable, but the children (11 &14) slept fine. We only had breakfast one day, but there was a good selection and we had no issue with finding seats. The workers were quick to clean and replenish. We used public transportation a lot, and this hotel was the perfect location being only a couple minutes from penn station. Overall, had a great stay.
- 5/5
Love that this hotel had washer and dryer….Breakfast uffff delicious so much variety….staff on dining Wonderful… I’m so sorry that some guests don’t have manners and patience for the staff…. I would love to stay here again on my next vacation to NY Thank you

The location of this property is perfect for exploring NYC. The included full daily breakfast was a delightful addition. The hotel is fairly updated with good AC. They hold bags for you as well even after you checked out. Overall a great place to stay in Midtown.

Had a fabulous 7 nights in this hotel in June 2025. We booked a city view, I didn't want to leave! Had breakfast some mornings but other days we had other plans, there was so much choice and it really set us up for the day. We arrived by Amtrak and left on the LIRR, it was literally steps to the side door of Moynihan train hall. Could also get almost anywhere with the subway stops nearby. Would definitely stay here again!

Good location
- 5/5
We stayed for three nights following the 18 night cruise and a short trip up to Niagara. The hotel were very accommodating in storing our main luggage whilst we went up to Canada. The reception staff and the concierge were extremely helpful. The position of the hotel is excellent for the subway as you are directly by Penn Station with numerous options of routes. The rooftop bar is particularly nice for a quick drink after a full day in New York.
- 4/5
⸻ The customer service was not that great. We were told our room wasn’t ready due to a late check-out, and we were offered another room instead. However, the AC in that room wasn’t working properly. I’m also not sure if we were supposed to request room service, but we never received any. Even when a staff member came in to change our towels, she said she would return but never did. I felt the service could have been better. That said, the property itself was nice.

My 9 year old son and I were traveling together and Shea at the front desk started off our trip with so much kindness and help as we arrived very early in the morning. The included breakfast was so convenient, with many options, and the staff was so friendly and helpful, especially to my young son. The only issue we had was one day we forgot to take off the do not disturb sign, so we had to call for clean towels. We called 3 times because they kept saying they would bring them but never did. You cant beat the location being right next to Penn station. Would definitely stay here again!
- 3/5
This is my vacation go to hotel when I come to NYC. We just stayed for our 3rd time this past weekend and it wasn’t the best stay we’ve had here. We got put in an ADA room which my boyfriend and I did not care about, however, the room was extremely small for being an ADA room. When we stood in the shower we could touch our elbows from the side of the shower to the shower curtain, from it being so small. The room was small as well, we could barely fit the desk chair in between the bed and the desk, I am not sure how someone would even fit a wheelchair in that area or in the room itself. The bed was hard as rock, and the pillows just suck from being so flat. We will stay here again but will not stay in an ADA room again, and as someone who doesn’t have a disability, I was very disappointed to see this would be the room someone with a disability would get. 5/10 experience for us this time around.
- 2/5
Staff was not friendly or polite.
- 2/5
Horrible view
- 3/5
The best thing about this property is its location. But, we will not be returning to this hotel. We expected a full-service restaurant/bar and got a simple bar with overpriced drinks. The view was nice though. The rooms were VERY small, but I hear that's the norm for Manhattan. Rooms were generally clean and the breakfast in the mornings was satisfactory. The bar staff was fairly pleasant, the various bellmen we came across performed in an average manner. The housekeeping staff were the most pleasant of any staff we encountered. The manning of the front desk was troubling. We were typically either ignored or treated as if we were too much trouble for them. Most of the staff here seem.to be hell bent on taking this (barely) 4 star hotel to a 2 or 3 star.
- 1/5
We ask for a KG room, but all their KG roms were water damaged. The QU room smelled like a locker room. The AC didn’t work. $313 for an uncomfortable stay.
- 4/5
Roms are a bit small and outdated. Service was excellent
- 5/5
Staff were very friendly and helpful!
- 5/5
Convenient location to see all the NYC sites. Staff was great. Only complaint was the breakfast was supposed to go to 10am on Saturday and when we went down at 915, all the hot food was put away already.
- 4/5
Workout room in the lowest level was very hot with no temperature control or air movement Location was convenient and walkable to many local bar/restaurant options off of 9th and walkable to Times Square, the Garment district and Broadway shows
- 4/5
Expensive for what it was, but then it’s NYC and all the hotels were expensive.
- 5/5
Great location and staff super friendly.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Fantastic!
- 5/5
Like the location and facilities. The breakfast is included and a wide variety though would like more protein choices
- 4/5
Breakfast was disappointing, even if you go before 8am. No eggs, cut fruits are either very soft or frozen. No regular milk available, just plant based.
- 5/5
This was a great hotel in a great location. The room was comfortable and clean.
- 5/5
Perfect location -friendly staff
- 4/5
When we arrived at the hotel, the staff member found the booking but was insistent I had only paid for one room, I provided confirmation and then it was confirmed I had paid for the two. When checking in the staff member acknowledged the message about my birthday. We went to our rooms are we were quite disappointed that our window faced a brick wall and air conditioning. The rooms were comfortable enough, I found it strange that the double beds had 3 pillows, I called to request another pillow, had to call twice as no one came, we then had to go to reception to collect ourselves. The air conditioning cover in our room was broken, it had been cable tied, however this was broke and wires exposed, not great for a 4 year old. Our toilet also blocked the first morning, maintenance fixed it whilst we were out, however opened the window and left it open, and it was very late when we returned and we couldn’t close the window, we called again to have someone come up to look at the window and waited over 30 minutes. Breakfast is mayhem…. Location brilliant!
