I went as a solo traveler and for thr first time to NYC. The staff was amazing, the room was perfect for one person. Hotel is clean, updated, and well maintained. They have 3 elevators so you didnt wait long for one. I liked the location as well.

My overall stay was affected by several issues related to communication and payment handling at check-in and checkout. At check-in, I experienced difficulties with my credit cards and had to use a card I did not initially intend to use for the security hold. I was informed by front desk staff that I would be able to split the final payment across different cards at checkout. However, the full amount was charged to my check-in card one day before checkout, which was unexpected. There was also an unexplained discrepancy in the authorization hold amount at check-in. In addition, despite informing the hotel in advance via email and planning to settle the payment at the front desk, my room key cards were deactivated before checkout. When I later went to the front desk, the hotel initially had difficulty processing part of the remaining payment, even though small authorization charges had been placed successfully. After a phone call by staff, the issue was resolved and payment was completed. I also booked this stay through the Booking.com – Miles & More program. Although the confirmation indicated that a Service Card number could be provided during or after booking, I was informed at the front desk that there was no system field available to enter my Miles & More membership details. This created confusion regarding the loyalty benefit process. Overall, the main concern during my stay was the lack of clear and consistent communication regarding payment procedures, card handling, and loyalty program integration. While the stay itself was acceptable, the operational process created unnecessary confusion and inconvenience. I also received a response from the hotel’s Operations Manager regarding my feedback. However, the reply felt largely generic and not solution-oriented, as it mainly contained standard apologies and general statements about training improvements, without addressing the specific issues I raised in a concrete way.

We had a room on 8th floor with two full size beds. The room was, by New York standards, very spacious, and bathroom as well. The room was marked as accessible, which is perhaps why it was so spacious. Beds were big enough for two adults to sleep in each and were comfortable. We as family of 3 had no issue with space. Everything was super clean and furniture was new. Even carpet did not feel/look dirty. Location is excellent, close to a number of different subway lines, and walking distance to everything basically. Room had a fridge, hair dryer ( a real one, not one of those bad hotel ones), iron and board, safe, and a number of charging ports (huge plus not having to deal with plug adaptors). Our friends were staying in a standard double (with a queen size bed), and while it was obviously not as big as ours, it was (again, for new york standards) a decent size room that did not feel cramped. AC is a bit noisy. We turned it off at night as it was not that hot. In summer it might be an issue. In the bathroom there was no real place to place cosmetic bags, we had to keep them on the floor. But since the bathroom was huge, it was not an issue.

Rooms were a good size and the location was perfect. On a quieter street but still close to many attractions and the subway. The only thing that was negative would have to be the need for a taller closet area to hang dresses. There wasn’t any other cons for me.

The hotel rooms were very clean including the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. I found that it was very quiet. The man who oversees the luggage was extremely helpful in securing us a cab. I find this property to be a very good value for the price.

Loved having a Starbucks downstairs for breakfast. All staff were so friendly. Great location being by Penn Station, next to everything. Lots pf walkable food options for all meals, drug stores, groceries and bars. Never tried Goldies but great there was one downstairs if desired, looked decent, had TVs showing sports. Will recommend and use this hotel if we visit NYC again.

The room was very nice. It was a little bit smaller than what the pictures made it seem but we made it work. There were 4 of us girls with the 2 bed room. We really loved the location. The subway was easily accessible.

Super comfortable bed and extremely close to Penn Station

It was a great location near Penn Station and several subway stops, so very conveniently located. Walking distance to Macys, Herald Square and Madison Square Park. Street was relatively quiet and right across from NYPD. Rooms were decent sized for NY. I misread the amenities and thought breakfast was included - it’s not. But lots of great bagel and coffee shops very near by.

This was a safe and convenient option for the price. Kind of no frills (fine with me, we were not in NYC to be in the hotel). Rooms were clean and functional. We did not eat breakfast but it looked good. Friendly staff. The location is central without being in the circus of Times Square.

Location is great and room was clean It was advertised that there is garage parking on the property. There is none. But we were told they validate parking at the garage and gave us the run around when we kept inquiring the process. Staff at the front desk were rude. Also, the smoke detector in the room lights up every 5 seconds and is annoying in the middle of the night.

We only got our room cleaned once in 4 nights. Bell hop was extremely rude. We had to ask for toilet paper and towels twice and they only brought one roll and 2 large towels with no wash cloths. As a Bonvoy member, I will pass on this hotel in the future.

Overall, it was a great place to stay for a first timer to NYC that also traveled in a group with a teen.. I would definitely recommend it to my family & stay here again.

Very good location just a few blocks from Penn Station but still quiet, as the area around Penn Station can be loud. The street was surprisingly quiet, despite the fact that there is a police station just across from the building. We paid for a normal room but had a big room with plenty of space for our toddler's bed. I don't have much to complain much. It was nice overall. The one very minor thing is that only coffee was available in the room, no tea. But frankly, I shouldn't complain. These things don't matter. You can hear the neighbors a bit, but really, it was quiet enough.

The closet is poorly designed with the clothes rack extending from back to front (not horizontal). Clothes are hard to access and fall off the rack. The room did not have a safe in it. The sink has a small surface area around it for objects. The sink faucet ideally would extend even 1-2 inches farther into the sink.

All of the staff was friendly, courteous, and efficient -- something you don't always find in a mid priced NYC hotel. Room was clean, comfortable, and well appointed.

Liked how the property was safe and in a walkable distance to shopping and Time Square yet far enough way where you weren’t over stimulated by the constant noise and lights

Convenient location

Our stay was pretty decent overall. Beds were comfortable, all the employees were nice and helpful, fridge in the room, the fruit infused water in lobby was refreshing and the filtered water to refill water bottles was good and convenient to have. We didn’t use the gym but it looked well equipped with free weights and cardio machines. Only con was the bathroom could have been a little cleaner and I would have preferred no rug in the room.

This hotel is situated strategically close to Times Square and the Penn station, making it easy to walk about and ride the subway. Restaurants and shoppings are all within walking distance, but still it's location is at a quiter place. Room is a bit small for a family of 4 but doable.

Good accommodation and the service was very good. Not the most desirable area around the hotel but overall would stay again.

Please do not stay at this hotel. I lost my diamond necklace and though they say they are investigating no concrete update given nor information provided. They also mistaken and took away my towel. But that’s minor compared to my diamond necklace. I still can’t believe my necklace gifted by my grandma for my wedding is now gone forever

Convenient and close to Penn station NY, walkable to lots of restaurants. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The location was a 5 minute walk from Penn Station. It was across from a police building so the street felt very safe. The room was small but standard for a one bed room. Everything was very clean. They could have used some softer lighting in the room. All the lights were super bright. You could slightly hear the neighbors and hall but we didn't really have any night issues with that. Overall a really nice place.

The room was nice, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable and helpful. Clean. Always had towels.

We normally pay the extra money to stay at the Cambria Chelsea, but we now have decided we like this hotel better and will try to book again. Overall, kudos to this team!

The decor in the building is upbeat, colorful and whimsical. The elevators are efficient. The breakfast is limited, but there are options in the neighborhood. The staff could not have been nicer - giving us a bag with water and chocolate upon check in - as though we were part of a wedding party.

Great location, large room given the location. Friendly and helpful staff. Everyone from the front desk, to the cleaning, to the bell service, were very helpful. Nugget ice machine in the basement, along with regular ice machine. Also, cold filtered water bottle filler in the gym and next to ice machine. On 30th between 6th and 7th, so very easy to get anywhere uptown or downtown.

Expedia says the hotel has onsite parking but it doesn’t. We parked temporarily at the guest loading spot, but before we barely finished checking in, a big truck delivering laundry I think, stopped inches behind our car and we were asked to leave. Since the truck was too close to our car, it was difficult for us to get out. Then the bell man shouted at us again for not leaving yet. I showed him how close the truck was to our car and with the construction cone in front of us, we couldn’t get out. Then he realized that and removed the cone. Also, later we learned the hotel should provide guests bottled water at check in, but we were not. I saw the guests checking in in front of us asking for water and were given two bottled water, we did not ask for it because we had water at the time. When I asked for water the next day, the front desk told me with a cold face that I could get water at the vending machine. Eventually they gave us water when I told them we were not given water at check in. I will have to say from checking in until we leave, I did not see any staff with a smile. When asking questions on the phone, the staff was also speaking in a cold tune. It just felt like the entire staff at the hotel were unhappy. This is the longest review I have ever written because this was one of worst hotel experience for us mainly caused by the services received, not by the condition of the hotel.

Convenient location

Great family oriented hotel. Has a microwave in the lobby, laundry and dryer facilities and is well located. The lobby is a bit bright and WiFi can be patchy, but they’re okay. Clean, comfortable rooms - tiny, but that’s mManhattan for you.

The receptionist at the hotel was incredibly rude to me when I arrived and it left a very bad first impression of our stay in New York.

Booked last minute after having train issues and being stuck in city overnight. Easy access from penn station and clean and comfortable accommodations

place was clean and beautiful. first time in New York that I stayed in a location that I could almost walk to everything. Only went on the subway once, a first! Front desk and concierge was truly exceptional.

Great central location in NYC. The property was clean, rooms were comfortable and clean, price was budget friendly. Staff were kind and friendly. Plenty of places to eat and shop nearby. Penn Station less than 2 blocks away. Definitely would stay here again!

This is a wonderful place to stay. I stayed here for multiple days with several friends, and we all appreciated the excellent service. The rooms can run a bit small, but they are flawlessly clean. All of the employees are polite, helpful, and knowledgeable about the property and operations.

The manager was amazing at helping me with an accidental booking. The room was as spacious as you could get in New York. Very modern and up to date rooms as well as my very fast elevators! I would definitely book again!

Hotel is clean and the staff is friendly.

My wife and I were so impressed. When the housekeepers were in the halls and saw us going to our room, they would ask if we needed anything and insist they give us new towels and linens. They were so very kind and wanted to make sure we had everything we wanted. The location was excellent! Everything was very safe and accommodating. Loved the bar next-door as well. Having Starbucks downstairs was a bonus!

I had absolutely no complaints except the wifi was horrible and there was no reception in our room. I stayed here many years ago and it was the same thing. Otherwise it was a very good place

I love that you needed a key to get into the hotel after 9pm. I love that there was an area for snacks and breakfast each morning. I love that it had a laundry facility but I hated having to go to the lobby for coins and laundry detergent. Those things should be provided in the facility to avoid the walking and let the customers pay using their card. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel was kept clean. The rooms were also clean. If we were to stay in New York for the holidays again we would definitely stay at the Marriott Courtyard Chelsea.

Nice clean room. Larger than I expected. Great location, near MSG and Macy’s. Felt safe as it was across from a police station. I like the need for key access later in the evening and in the elevators. This was my second stay at this location.
