Reviews
The hotel has a great location, with many reviews highlighting its proximity to Times Square and other attractions. However, there are mixed reviews about the quality of the rooms and service. Some guests have had positive experiences with friendly staff and clean rooms, while others have encountered issues such as dirty rooms, poor service, and outdated facilities.

Room was small. Breakfast was very basic. Plumbing was a bit noisy... however, for the discounted rate, it was a fine enough experience.
- 5/5
Is it really nice size of the room

This hotel is in a great location, the front desk staff was extremely kind-especially Jilal!
- 4/5
Hotel OK, the location is very good.

This room was perfect for our family & really beautiful! The King Duplex provided us with ample space considering typical NYC room sizes. The fact that it has 2 floors was amazing, that way the kids enjoyed their own space & privacy downstairs. The king bed was so comfortable & the primary suite was just beautiful with the accents on the ceilings & the huge window! It was an exceptional place to stay. The lighting in the bathroom could've been better but the shower & water pressure were great. Extra bonus was plenty of full length mirrors throughout the room for teenagers to get ready! All in all we were very happy with our stay at CC & will definitely return in the future. Breakfast could've been better! After the first morning trying it, we didn't bother with it again...

Lo más que me gustó fue la ubicación.
- 3/5
The room was clean. Water pressure was amazing. Breakfast was fine - nice little pastries and coffee. I couldn't affect the climate and so I was a little warm. The windows, when curtains raised, literally had a brick wall a meter behind them. Probably normal for NYC, but strange to me. :) I would stay there again. My wife would not. :)
- 3/5
This is a well-located, basic hotel an easy walk from Grand Central Station. The hotel is pretty run down - but the rooms were clean and spacious. A decent option for a (relatively) inexpensive, central hotel in NYC. Staff are friendly and helpful.
- 2/5
Cons: needs major TLC, our keys never worked-needed to be rekeyed multiple times per day,a/c was loud and didn’t work at first
- 4/5
Convenient location near Times Square
- 3/5
The size of the room was phenomenal and the location of the premises was ideal as it was near Times Square. The room had a safe for your valuables and a mini refrigerator. Finally the front desk staff was courteous and professional. Breakfast to go was mentioned as part of my rate! I didn't see any setup. On another note, the room was somewhat clean however the wallpaper and walls were dingy. In the bathroom I was able to take a shower and use the faucet to wash my hands, brush my teeth, etc. However one had to adjust the temperature and pressure because the handles weren't working properly.
- 5/5
Just to say that the check-in and the staff J and Billy were amazing. Definitely will be staying here again.
- 5/5
The ac Worked which was great! The little Couch in our room had some old grease spots on it!

really enjoyed the size of the bathroom and shower. Staff was very lively and friendly, especially Sebastian being so amped up for the Knicks Spurs Finals.
- 4/5
The property is worn down. The bathrooms need to be remodeled. The air conditioner did stop working but they go fix it. The TV didn’t work right and did turn on and off in the middle of the night. Staff was amazing. They were very helpful and very friendly
- 5/5
The family room was excellent for our family.
- 4/5
Good location. Staff service not great. Rugs were quite dirty, especially in the elevator. The bed was good, the pillows were good, the bathroom was functional, and the shower's water pressure was amazingly powerful.

- ⭐☆☆☆☆ (1 Star) My experience with this hotel was extremely disappointing. Upon arrival, I was told that I had to present the physical credit card used for the reservation. I explained that my physical cards had been stolen and that I was using a digital version of my card on my phone, which had been accepted without any issues at every other hotel during my trip. Instead of trying to help or find a reasonable solution, the receptionist was rude, dismissive, and unwilling to listen. He showed no interest in assisting me, answering my questions, or exploring any alternative way to verify my identity or payment. I was essentially turned away and left without accommodation. I then spent considerable time trying to resolve the issue. Booking.com told me to contact the hotel, while the hotel claimed that management would handle the matter. However, my complaints were ignored, no one followed up, and I never received any meaningful response from management. In the end, I lost both my reservation and my money. What upset me most was not the hotel’s policy itself, but the complete lack of customer service, empathy, and professionalism. A difficult situation could have been handled respectfully and constructively, but instead I was treated poorly and left without any support. I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience. Travelers deserve clear communication, respectful treatment, and responsive customer service when problems arise.

Breakfast says it is included but only pastries are served, no eggs no protein. The shower head and pressure is greats. For the same price I think there are many other options in the city. Mattress too soft for us and bed is not queen, it’s double, bear in mind if you are a couple and husband is tall. Overall acceptable but not for a long stay

Jilal was great at check in informed me about the time for breakfast and location of elevators and was very pleasant. The room itself was a bit old the faucet for hot and cold were not aligned so that did bother my daughter where she almost burned herself trying to turn the hot water off bc she had to turn it the opposite way. The tub seemed to need an additional cleaning and the room did smell a bit like cigarette smoke upon initial entry. The sheets had a black mark on it but I changed it to my own sheets The sheets could have been cleaner and the room smelled like cigarette smoke. Seems the hotel bathroom could use an update faucets seems very old and the toilet did as well. Wish I had a room that was located more away from the street side as the ambulance and fire trucks of nyc did keep my daughter up a bit and awake her in the night.

They offered the luggage storage for free, ver awesome service to go out and enjoy the city. Thanks to all the excellent staff .

Had a great and quick stay here and really enjoyed it. Was very reasonably priced and the room was small but didn't feel too small. The only issues I had were finding the place, as the entrance is tucked in between two larger hotels, and then the floor of the bathroom was clearly suffering from their insanely strong water pressure and lack of a good shower curtain that touched the floor. While I did love the classic shower handle that controlled the heavy pressure as an option, even turning it low would still spray the floor a bit and it had messed up the tiles right as you step out. But aside from the few issues, the minibar was fully stocked and wasnt crazy prices which was convenient. I would have liked a more extensive complimentary breakfast as well but the small pastries and coffee were nice enough. Otherwise good location right near Bryant park and times square, Would come thru again!

The room had many things that needed to be fixed and they used duct tape as a fix. The floor was uneven in the bathroom and felt like it would cave in at anytime. The king bed needs to be replaced, it’s sunk in and not flat. No ice machine, have to ask for it. The keys kept deactivating and we had to get them activated several times. Some of the staff was kind and others were not so nice. Overall, I would not recommend or stay here again. The only benefit to this hotel was the convenience of being so close to Times Square and the subway station.
- 5/5
Amazing value for NYC. Great location, large comfortable rooms and cheerful staff…plus free breakfast. I have stayed many places in midtown and this is by far the best.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We needed an extra towel set and bed set and it was brought up immediately. They also gave my niece (it was her birthday) an upper level room for better views which was very nice. The breakfast that was included in the price was not good, just very sweet pastries and sweet yogurt. They did offer oranges so that's what I went with, and grabbed coffee and breakfast elsewhere.

From the time I arrived on May 9, 2026, the Guest Service Specialist was very attentive. He was having difficulties with his computer. But he was very communicative and transparent about the situation. He was able to handle 4 guests as they were checking in. He was calm and smooth, which put us at ease. Come to find out, this was his first day on the job. I was wowed by his professionalism and ability to calm guests. Props to him and the hotel staff. Kamil was fantastic.

The location is wonderful. It’s close to Times square, but not so much noises. It’s located between the other hotels so I felt very safe. The staff were friendly and welcoming. And the restaurant/cafe we had a breakfast is also nice atmosphere, friendly and cozy. The building self is not new as same as the room. But still clean and I enjoyed the classic style. The size of room was quite nice. The bathroom’s shower curtain was not nice. But I liked the big mirror.

the bathroom (and the room because of it) smelled of piss and there was a half eaten SlimJim on the floor of the closet and used tissues. the bed linens and towels were clean. i arrived after midnight and had early meetings, so was too tired to complain - this should not be rater as a 4 star hotel on hotels.com. The staff are super friendly for the most part other than one person - again he was friendly, but really just didn't care at all. if super cheap you can stay here.

Great location- walking distance to grand central terminal, time square, Broadway, Bryant Park, shops and restaurants on 5th and 6th Avenue. Also Rockefeller center, radio city music hall and st.patrick cathedral. Quiet, comfortable, clean room. Comfortable bed. No plumbing or air-condition problems. In room safe. Friendly staff. Let us check in about 3 hours early without extra carges as room was ready. Safe area. Nice continental breakfast. Spectrum TV. No refrigerator, coffee maker or microwave in room. Small lobby. Small cramped up breakfast area.

The room was very clean and such a short walk to Times Square! They were able to store our luggage for us while waiting for our bus, which was great. Just a note that the bathrooms are a bit loud (specifically when you flush), which woke us up at night. Overall though, I’m impressed!

Location is exactly what we needed to walk between Times Square, Bryant Park, Central Park, NY Library and the list goes on!! Room definitely needs a little maintenance but everything still functions fine. No critters like previous reviews have mentioned. Sheets were clean, housekeeping when needed was on point. Breakfast consisted of small pastries (croissants, doughnut holes and fruits) and their POS coffee is enough to get the morning started. Overall, I would stay here again if giving the opportunity. Just don’t pay attention to the sirens blaring until 1am. lol

The front desk lady clerk and gentleman were excellent sent up a bottle on my birthday ! Room was cozy clean and breakfast was out of this world

I chose this hotel because it was less expensive than other hotels in this area. However, it’s unreasonable that this hotel charges as much as it does for both the room and security deposit given how poorly maintained the building is. (The security deposit was $200, and I’m still waiting to get it reversed.) In my room, there were stains all over the walls and upholstery, the smoke detector was literally dangling by a wire, the plug-in outlet by the bed didn’t work, and the tub had mold. You can also hear other people’s room doors opening and closing loudly, so the rooms are far from soundproof. You feel like you can’t even dry your hair without it waking up the neighbors. It’s also inconvenient that the hotel doesn’t allow you to check in early. I had an event in the early afternoon and would have liked to clean up a bit beforehand. I wouldn’t stay here again for this reason alone.
- 4/5
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The king lux room was a wonderful surprise with crown moldings on the ceiling, loft bedroom and comfortable bed. The hallway can use updating.

The two adjoining rooms accomodation was fine, it suited our needs very well. The bins were not emptied regularly. Only 4 bottles of water for five of us was made available on the first night of our three night stay. However the continental breakfast choice was excellent and the coffees were good. A shame coffee and tea was not available in the rooms. The location within mid Manhattan was excellent and I would certainly use this hotel in the future. I would recommend it.
- 4/5
Super easily accessible to everything. The room was cute and clean, there was however a weird sunken in area in the floor of our room. The front desk woman who checked us in was very nice and helpful. My only real complaint is that I was charged for something out of my incidentals hold and still have yet to hear back on the two emails I sent requesting a receipt to justify it.

The hotel was clean. Our room was on the 9th floor, the elevator stopped at the 8th and we had to walk up a creepy staircase. There were no towels in the room or robes so we had to call down and have them brought up. The fridge didn't work. It was fine for a one night stay and worth the money, location was good

- 4/5
Super clean room with very nice amenities (Shampoo, Conditioner, body wash, hand soap , hair dryer, sewing kit, shower cap, shoe cover, full in room mini bar) and very comfortable bed. Pretty tight on room but very elegant
- 5/5
The staff were amazing. The hotel itself is beautiful. The balcony was a great bonus at night to enjoy the city.
- 1/5
I was given keys, and there were a mother and daughter in bed in the room. I was mortified and they were probably terrified. After getting another room, I check in and go for a walk. Upon return my keys don’t work. I ask reception and a different person on duty tries to find the room register to check my name but couldn’t find it so just gave me new keys on faith I was checked in. I double locked the door overnight worried someone would barge into my room. Weird breakfast arrangement - again no checks you just wander in - and I wonder if they have considered basic procedures so guests aren’t put in these situations. Simply awful.

Great place to stay near Times Square.

The hotel is dated but location is great! I wish they would make it nicer, eg plant on reception was dying, they can at least remove it. The elevator smell old, chipped paint everywhere. Nothing much on breakfast so don't take this into consideration when booking.
- 5/5
Everyone was very friendly! I would recommend this hotel to anyone I know visiting the city, very close to Times Square and a few blocks to Fifth Ave!
- 4/5
The hotel was better than expected. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room wasn’t tray at 3pm but the staff were accommodating and it was not a problem. The door keys quit working twice during our stay and we had to go down to the front desk to get them re programmed. But, all in all a great stay. We will definitely stay again. Location was amazing!

Excellent location for accessing NYC; we walked everywhere we wanted to go. Breakfast is “meh” but will at least get you going for the day (apparently breakfast used to be a lot better…). Staff friendly and helpful. No parking available but we didn’t have a car. Decent New York City hotel for the price.

Location and staff Small room and very poor breakfast
- 5/5
The location is amazing and the price was unmatched. The staff was accommodating (incredible upgrade) and helpful. It was immaculate. The bed was comfortable. There was no coffee machine but there’s breakfast included, so who can complain. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to the city.

They offer light breakfast, the room was clean.

Great location. Excellent staff. Clean rooms
- 5/5
clean and welcoming room, large bathroom with bidet, very, very rare to find in American hotels.
- 3.5/5
Very convenient to EVERYTHING The room looked nice at first glance however there were stains on the wall, water damage to some parts of the ceiling, some stains on the chair and cushions on the nook bed. The bathroom must’ve looked nice a couple of years ago when they first built it but there is water damage on some parts of the floor where the “tile” is lifting up. I’ve been to many hotels and I’ve never encountered vinyl tiles in the bathroom, that could be a mold problem in the near future for this place. For an additional $200 “security fee” I feel they could much better with cleanliness. The corners were a little dusty too. I would say they need to redo wall paper and wipe down table, dressers and lamp fixtures. I didn’t see any bugs nor did I wake up to bug bites which is a good thing.

Robenna checked us in and was so helpful The location, breakfast, service
- 5/5
I didn't like, I LOVE THE STAFF! John, Robenna and Billy made our stay enjoyable from start to finish. I made it clear that our visit was special, my wife's 50th Birthday and Johnny and Robenna gave us a 2x free upgrade in our room! And Billy brought us a complimentary white wine! Blew our minds! Really! The free breakfast was amazing too! I received an email stating self-parking and valet rates through the hotel. This was crucial because I specifically searched for hotels that provided parking. Long story short, I went to the garage I was instructed to go to when I checked in, to self-park, and to my surprise I was told that they were a "valet only" garage by the attendant. I self-park as preference as I have a company car and I want to save money as well. There is no such "agreement" or set prices between the hotel and this garage. A bit disappointing to say the least. But Billy, from the hotel staff, was an all-star in this situation as well, giving me more time in the temporary space in front of the hotel! He even walked across the street to the garage to talk to someone in charge to help rectify the problem. I recognize and appreciate that greatly! But I had to find parking on my own in nyc which was stressful and almost missed the start of our first Broadway show that I drove all the way from Boston, MA to see for my wife's Birthday. Not good!

Location is the only Positive thing going on for this hotel.

The City Club is a charming hotel with a very convenient midtown location. Everyone on the staff is friendly, helpful, and makes guests feel welcome. (They quickly notified me when I left a phone charger behind.) The guest rooms are spacious, inviting, and well-appointed, and there is a light breakfast served every morning. This hotel is a gem in midtown, and I highly recommend it to anyone!

Location is terrific. Staff was very nice and helpful. Room was very clean. The only thing that could have been better was the free breakfast. It was free, but it was very minimal.

Always a winner- although the breakfast was better in the recent past- no more bagels or cereal

The coffee available on the floor was not made correctly, and they did not provide milk, or even a powdered creamer. Coffee is sooo important. More important than the fantastic sheets and quality toiletries and fully stocked bar....ya just gotta do the coffee right!

Arrived on Sunday 2/15 around 11:30 to register for check-in. We were in NYC to take our kids to their first Broadway show. We were told the room was being cleaned but would be ready by the normal 3pm check-in time. We got back from our show at 3:30 with tired kids and our room was still not ready. I checked in with the concierge at 4:15 who said they just started cleaning the room so it would take some time. We were finally able to check into our room around 6:45 after we had dinner. The next morning the concierge said they would reach out to the manager about a refund. I called later that day and was told they were still waiting on a response from the manager. I asked if they would call me back when they had an answer. That was the first time I was asked to give them a call back number. It felt like I was being dismissed the entire time in the hopes I would just forget about it. Room and hotel were nice but I won't be going back.

I wish I could post pictures of the hotel room… it felt so grimy and dirty. The bathroom floor was soft from water damage so the floor around the toilet sunk when you stepped on it plus you can see the floor sunk with you own eyes. The ac didn’t work so the room got terribly hot and no one came to fix it. We had no towels when we arrived and it took hours to get any we’re had to go back down to the concierge. There were stains everywhere on the walls, upholstery and floors. One night I needed to work in the communal space and there was an altercation happen with a man downstairs refusing to leave the hotel. The whole stay was less than ideal.

While the staff was great, the hotel itself didn't match some of the amenities. For example, our room did not have a refrigerator or mini-bar; and the continental breakfast wasn't great. There were mini yogurt cups, mini muffins, mini donuts, mini croissants...all which were stale. Only option to drink was coffee, tea or orange juice. Would have been nice to have fresh fruit. Best part of the hotel was the location...just a few minutes away from Times Square and Broadway theatres! Surroundings were safe to walk at night.

I had booked this hotel for 4 nights, however I had to leave as soon as I arrived. My room smelled strange when I arrived, I opened the windows (in Februarys winter weather) to clear the air. However I found the real problem in the bathroom where the floor tiles were rotten (loose soft vinyl that you could lift) and the shower tiles had no grouting in between. I cannot imagine the amount of old gunk collecting there waiting for my bear feet to stand on. Hopefully nobody gets a cut there. I couldn’t stay. A clean place is the bare minimum.

The rooms are beautifully decorated, the bathrooms are spacious, and all of the hotel staff are professional, courteous, and helpful. And the central location can't be beat. Everything was great near a lot of places, front desk lady she was so kind and helpful I definitely will stay there again.

When we got to the room, the first issue was we had was with the TV. There was no volume couldn’t figure it out, but we called the staff and they did come up there and after about two hours they finally figured out what the problem was . The next issue we had was the floors are very dirty. There are spots where the floor is very soft and wheat and then maybe they just carpeted over vent or whatever holes were in the floor. The tile in the bathroom was coming up. There’s also dents and lumps in the floor and soft spots in the bathroom as well. The room was hot. We could not get the thermostat to work we would hit the button and it would seem like it’s working, but then it would just stop working overnight and we would wake up very hot and uncomfortable. We told the staff and it’s possible that something has been fixed because the next morning, as we were getting ready to leave, we did notice that the room was much cooler that was two days later. Our shower would not drain so as we all showered, we would stand in a pool of dirty water. There is a mini fridge in the room, but it is packed full of alcohol and drinks so it will be no use to anyone staying in the room. So we had to figure out another way to store our items. We also noticed a smell of aerosol bug spray.

Jennifer was very friendly and made checking in smooth , property not modern however it’s close and convenient to everything and works for short stays and time away exploring

The location was superb. Rooms very tired and dated. Breakfast very limited and mini pastries all abit hard. No coffee/tea in room. Shame the post visit communication means I won’t book again.

The hotel was very conveniently located. The staffs hospitality made up for the neglected rooms. Rooms need a massive renovation.

Thank you staff for making our stay with 4 kids and a puppy such a great experience. Truly, the staff can make or break a stay and they were so wonderful, kind, and helpful without making one feel they owe them something in return. Will highly recommend to others. Great street. Felt safe and a bit less congested than other streets, even the days right before Christmas. Parking right across the street was worth every penny to then be able to walk everywhere. Love that they included light breakfast pastries. Hotel is not super fancy, but the staff and location and affordability makes it worth it. Coffee shop and healthy Proper Foods (also such kind staff) were so great right across the street. Huge thank you Bill for keeping our many bags safe at checkout and retrieving them so kindly not long after storing them, even with many guests needing assistance at that hour. Such a memorable experience staying in NYC at Christmastime for our family and you were part of it. Thanks again and all the best!

Stay was ok. Nothing to rave about expect for Wilson. At midnight, he was tasked with unclogging a toilet and cleaning our bathroom after the afternoon staff did nothing after we let them know around 7pm of the bathroom issue. Upon our return Wilson and the front desk staff moved quickly to help us and had it fixed in under an hour. Breakfast was ok. Good coffee. Excellent location!
- 4/5
The hotel was mostly excellent except for a few small problems. The shower drain didn’t drain the water as fast as the shower head flowed. The traffic was so busy the day I arrived that it took 45 minutes to drive 5 blocks to the hotel. One great and terrible thing was that the hotel entrance was hard to find. It made it exciting to find this hidden gem, but it took 4 passes to find it because the entrance is so small compared to the big entrances of the other hotels on the street.

It was fine. Check in was slow with lots of waiting, one small desk and one person. Hotel location was perfect! The hotel is trying to feel upscale but it’s basic. It was a lot of money and maybe when it’s not the holidays if the price was reasonable it would be a good value.
- 2/5
Breakfast was very limited and the room that it was in had no heat, middle of december, bed was terrible, everything else was fine
- 5/5
The staff are very friendly. The hotel is decent, well maintained. It is conveniently located in the center of everything.
- 4/5
The hotel is in a good location very convenient to Grand Central Station, Bryant Park, Rockefeller, and Broadway. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a doorman who will greet you. It also adds to the security factor. The service is top notch. I had booked a car service through Expedia before the trip. But the service unexpectedly canceled on me on my departure day when I was leaving for the airport. The hotel was able to secure me last minute transportation so I was able to make my flight. They do have a continental breakfast which is a variety of baked goods, oranges, coffee and tea. If you are a picky eater or have allergies you should not count on eating breakfast at the hotel. The coffee is legit- they have a fancy machine that makes lattes, cappuccinos and more. So if you are into coffee you can skip the Starbucks and save money. The hotel is clean but it is an older property that shows its age. There are no amenities such as a gym or pool. The room was comfortable for sleeping. The hotel has a lot of music nostalgia including vinyl records as decor in the room and black & white pictures of celebrities including Elvis. It is unclear if these celebs ever stayed at the property but it leads to the charm. If you are looking for a mid budget hotel that is close to transportation and Times Square area this is a good option.
- 5/5
Jay welcomed us to the hotel, was very efficient, and made us feel like superstars when he proactively upgraded our room!
- 2/5
Rooms were tiny, bathroom was moldy. Online stated we got 2 bottles of water each day, then front desk told me that was one time only. (With mini/tiny bottles of water) front desk manager was completely rude, anytime you ask any kind of question. Would NEVER stay here again!!!!
- 4/5
Bathroom floor was warped. Shower faucet difficult to operate. Great location. Need better signage outside to identify the hotel from the street
- 2/5
The breakfast was terrible. Not sure how they can even call it “breakfast”. Nothing dairy free. Staff was nice. The room was just okay. The cushions on the couch were torn and worn. The floor in the bathroom was coming up. The best thing this hotel has going for it is the location. Unless it was my only option, I would not go back.
- 3/5

If you want more details: The staff were great. Kind, professional and attentive. The room was comfortable and bigger than I expected for a building of this age. I feel like the facilities, and the general fit and finish of the building could use a refresh (just a little worn). On the other hand, the shower had good pressure and enough room to move around. They also had a self serve fully automatic espresso machine that worked correctly. So often I find these poorly maintained, delivering a sad and frustrating cup that in the end is just a waste of your time. And if you don't feel like making your own coffee, there is a Greggory's across the street and so many more coffee shops within a few minute walk from here.

I had a good experience overall at the City Club Hotel. The customer service was truly great — the staff were friendly, helpful, and always quick to assist. However, the room itself was quite small, and the pillows, blankets, and duvet cover felt old and in need of an update. With a few improvements to the room quality, this hotel could be much better.
- 5/5
Still here as I write this, but they let us leave our luggage in a safe place while we toured the city since we arrived too early to check in 👍

Amazing staff. Truly made the experience worth it. The rooms are a 3.5 or 4 but the staff really is so helpful and kind and welcoming. We got so much good info and help navigating our way around through them. We will be back !
- 5/5
Friendly and helpful staff
- 4/5
Parking falls about where you expect for NYC close to times square, and the property itself was pretty cool, but a bit dated, some wallpaper was peeling off and faucets/ flooring weren't really maintained, but the style of the rooms was amazing.
- 5/5
Very nice and helpful staff, a cozy hotel room and so close to many fun things in the city! Not super loud at night compared to other hotels. We would stay here again!

We had a great experience J-Jack and the lady at front desk made all possible for us the best way possible… the hotel was quite clean excellent service…. These 3 people went out their comfort to make our stay extremely pleasant… thank you so much !!!

Very comfortable and the location it’s amazing!! I would recommend not to expect a nice breakfast. It’s literally just dry bread and coffee.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly at check-in, room on the 4th was very quiet and the rate was agreeable for a room with a private bathroom in Manhattan, which was also clean and comfortable. Would stay again.

Hey my name is De’Arah Jackson I stayed with you guys Oct 10-12th 2025. I was promised $200 back and never received it. My sister been contacting you guys to see what’s going on . My father will be there next week to see what’s going on. Pls contact me back as soon as possible I was promised the charge is temporary and will be returned to me in full. It’s going on month 2 and I haven’t received it.

But the breakfast was a joke, not filling at all, very poor quality croissants. My room needed renovation, the curtain had a stain. But the location itself is very convenient. I don't know why, but I was provided with extra roll of toilet paper and soap bars only on my first two days out of four. And something is not right with cards for the room because I needed to renew them every day.
- 3/5
The breakfast was awful. However, the folks at the front desk and “bellmen” were excellent.
- 2/5
The issue came at checkout. When we went to the front desk, the employee reacted oddly and said, “Oh, we got another one.” Then he suddenly mentioned a $5 charge we hadn’t heard about, and nothing about it was posted or communicated ahead of time. It felt like it was being thrown out there to deter us. I reminded him that we didn’t cause the damage and had already reported it, and instead of acknowledging that, he questioned what exact time we reported it and kind of mocked me when I didn’t know the exact minute. I even showed him photos. What made it feel worse was that another family checked out moments before us, in front of half our group, and they were not told anything about a $5 charge. So it felt random and inconsistent. Then, as they were transporting our luggage, they dropped my bag down the ramp. When I said, “Oof — there’s a laptop in there,” the staff member responded with, “You should have told us that before you gave it to us.” I’ve never been expected to disclose the contents of my luggage just so that it’s handled with care. At that point we felt so uncomfortable that we told them to canc

Furniture and decor are a bit dated and worn but there are charming details such as a window seat and vintage style bathroom fixtures. Great restaurants nearby if you stay away from chains and tourist traps. Easy walk to Subway. Would stay here again.

I loved that when I called to get info about parking and later to say I had been delayed a polite person answered the phone and promptly gave me info and assurances .

Check in at 4 room was not check in ready when it was supposed to be. Room looks nicer in the website. Snacks were expired

$. Companies often say there is nothing they can do, hands are tied--but individual owners--still can make a choice. They can make a choice to be ethical and in consideration of the people who also made the choice to spend their money with them. One point to hotels and airlines: if you despise 3rd party booking sites then stop participating. That's for later. The reason I'm sharing this--it's about money and being decent. I reserved 2 nights at the City Club Hotel. I travel to NYC regularly, and thought this hotel would be a decent choice. The photos are not at all what the hotel looks like; but the staff is wonderful and kind; really great people. There was an error, however, in the online reservation---I reserved 2 nights prepaid both nights, but only one was billed, and the other was not--by error--so I had to make another reservation and pay in full separately for the next night. I'm still uncertain if it was the outage through AWS that day or what. I then called the hotel to confirm my reservation and let them know what happened. It's only one reservation; for two nights, there was an error in booking (not my error). I read and understood that the deposit was $100 per night/$200 per stay. I checked in, and was charged $200 as a deposit. I then went to confirm that was the deposit for the entire stay, and was told no--I had to check back out ( even though I didn't have to leave the room); check back in again to the same room; pay another $200 **to be cont.

The hotel was very cute. It is an older hotel so not super fancy but beds were comfortable. Everything was very clean and the water pressure in the washroom was great. Continental breakfast is small. However, the coffee machine made an excellent latte. Hotel was in prime location close to everything on a beautiful street. Will definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Room is incredibly spacious for a NYC hotel. Very clean. Bathroom could use some updating
- 4/5
- 3/5
The room was small - basically just enough space for a bed. Bedding was clean and the bathroom was nice. Nice amenities too. The wallpaper was dirty and in need of an update. Breakfast was light, but nice to have that offered.
- 5/5
Robenna and Jack were super helpful
- 5/5
the room was warm for us and ac didnt cool much. staff was wonderful
- 5/5
These rooms were so spacious, and the hotel is close to everything! The staff were amazing, will definitely be visiting this hotel again.
- 5/5
Great stay!! Amazing staff, very friendly!! Great Location. Would definitely stay again!!
- 3/5
Room was ok and comfortable. But very small. Breakfast was ok also. No frills at this hotel but the location is excellent and there’s a good diner next door. I would add that the staff are very polite and helpful though.
- 3/5
The faucet and the shower head were both leaking. The check-in staff were slow and did not focus on me. The breakfast had minimal variety of items and everything was packed with sugar. The bed was ok , though.
- 2/5
Wifi barley worked, small beds, shower barely had a curtain. I wouldn't recommend
- 4/5
The building and rooms are old which is my only negative.
- 5/5
The rooms are comfortable with blackout shades so I always have a good nights sleep
- 5/5
I enjoy this property as it is an older one with some history. The area is safe and convenient to all.
- 1/5
We checked out and had to store 2 bags for a few hours. The same man told us that they are full and he would need to charge us $5 per bag but said he’ll just charge $5 for both. It is unheard of and I told him to charge the card on file but he said only cash. That is absolutely unacceptable, never had experienced that. When we came back to pick up the bags, I was ready with the $5 but he didn’t ask for it. He probably realized how wrong it was. Just one person ruined the pleasant stay at the hotel.
- 5/5
Very ideal and central location. Amazing and helpful staff. Always smiling and happy to assist.
- 2/5
It said “continental breakfast,” but all they offered was cereal, some hard bread, and yogurt. The only decent thing was the coffee. The staff was kind, but the overall stay was disappointing, and I would not return. I had issues with the first room and was moved to another one, which was only slightly better. They also did not return the full $300 deposit, and even after messaging them, I still haven’t received a response.
- 5/5

He charged me extra money without any reason
- 4/5
Compact room, but full amenities. Great water pressure! And has a bidet—uncommon. Basic, carb-heavy breakfast bar, but great coffee machine. Clean; would stay again.
- 5/5
Staff very friendly and nice.
- 4/5
Ideal location!! Room cleaning timing could improve. We were always at the end of the day and were missed 2 of our 3 days. Lovely staff!!
- 5/5
Nice place to stay in NYC. Convenient boutique hotel. Will stay there again.
- 3/5
It was okey, less than expectations. Staff was not supportive.
- 3/5
Breakfast was very limited. Not alot of options. Very poor Wi-Fi. Rooms were old and run down. Location was great and the staff were very friendly. Just was underwhelming and didnt live up to expectations.
- 4/5
Breakfast was convenient. The location was close to Times Square and walking distance from restaurants and the subway. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The wifi connection was not good and the hotel needs upgrades. The rooms are small and the bed was not very comfortable. There was no city views from my room on the 3rd floor. Overall, it was a budget friendly hotel with a great location.
- 5/5
great customer service, the lady at breakfast is very friendly and helpful, as is the lady at the front desk, actually everyone!!!
- 5/5
It’s nice and clean
- 5/5
I stay at this property when I am in town on business. I like that it is centrally located, walkable to most & public transportation. I also enjoy the continental breakfast which is included with your stay.
- 5/5
Location Location! Excellent walkable to all.major spots like times square, radio city, etc. Subway was super convenient. The hotel staff is very helpful. The beds were comfortable and the room was well equipped. You dont have a coffee machine in the room but coffee is available 24/7 in the dining area . Grab and go breakfast is appreciated
- 4/5
Expensive mini bar, room key malfunctions
- 4/5
Very central
- 1/5
Property is in very poor condition. Our room reeked of weed and the lights flickered constantly. The bathroom was atrocious; mold everywhere and the floor was squishy from water damage. Staff was friendly and helpful but this property is awful. Thankfully we were only there for one night.
- 4/5
It needs work but is very charming. The staff is fabulous. I will stay there again.

- 2/5
Bed was really bad, very soft and small. Furniture looks worn out. Room was good but very noisy due to being near a rooftop AC units.
- 5/5
This hotel is a surprise. Nondescript entrance and a small lobby lead to spacious rooms and a very nice breakfast. The staff is wonderful- friendly and helpful.
- 3/5
Ok
- 5/5
Very good location.
- 4/5
Good stay
- 5/5
Charming and cozy! Great location. The best part was the staff. They were so warm and helpful and just did all they could to go above and beyond.
- 5/5
Reliable professional hotel in the heart of midtown NY
- 3/5
Roll bathrooms were very dated. Flooring in bathroom was soft and mushy…it appears water intrusion is degrading the floors significantly. If they spend some money updating the bathrooms then I’d stay here again.
- 1/5
Not clean at all and service at the front desk horrible
- 5/5
Ok
- 1/5
This hotel was very run down, at least my room. The shower head didn't sprayed in on stream, the bed was indented. The tv wasn't working, the blankets was so lumpy like the cotton inside was balled together. The walls at the top look to have water damage. Also when you book through hotels.com and pick pay at Hotel they do not honor the hotels.com price. They charge their own pricing. Won't ever stay again for any reason.
- 2/5
I booked 2 rooms at the same time for my family. They gave me 6th floor and 8th floor. When you book at the same time and as a family we would like to stay close rooms and same floor. And there is no slippers for bathrooms. Overall this hotel is not recommended. Thank you.
- 3/5
The property itself is nice. The staff was unprofessional. I was given the wrong room number and walked in to an occupied room. Luckily I didn’t witness guests in private moments. When I explained what happened the second agent asked what happened and I repeated myself but the manager said “I heard you” in a stern voice. I told him I was just talking to your coworker. He could’ve handled the error better

However poor room , very old , not renewal.

Good location
- 3/5
Over priced but a decent place to stay. The security deposit was absolutely exorbitant. It was fine for us but the despair of a man (who was there for one night with his teen daughters for a play) who paid $450 for the night but then did not have the $300 for a deposit was heartbreaking and unforgivable, in my opinion. This hotel was fine. Way over priced. It was as clean but needed updating. Breakfast was decent. The location was good for us. The staff was kind to us. But cruel in my opinion to the other guest. 24 hours later I am still worried about what happened to them. I think it is ridiculous to charge such a high deposit in an already over priced room!
- 5/5
Very convenient location at an affordable price. We were within walking distance from time square, empire state building, Broadway. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. It's an outdated hotel room with basic outdated furniture. One major issue was bathroom shower water poured into the bathroom floor as it's a flat surface with a shower curtain. So the bathroom floor was flooded each time I showered. Front desk has it mopped up but it was wet again after. AC in room was also freezing and couldn't be turned down. Just double check with this before showering and the ac. Overall pleasant and convenient stay at an affordable price in times square.
- 5/5
This is a great location close to everything. Some repairs were being done in the City Club during my stay but didn't have any issues. I will definitely stay at the City Club again.
- 5/5
I cannot say enough good things about our stay. The hotel’s location is perfect for walking to so many places. Check in was super quick and easy. There was one elevator out of operation, but that did not bother me as the other worked fine. Our room was just lovely. Queen bed and the daybed/couch type thing by one of the windows. The bathroom was spacious and everything throughout the room was very clean. Mini fridge hidden behind artwork. Small lighted closet. The bed was very comfortable and we slept great. Only noise we could hear was from air conditioner and it was soothing white noise. Breakfast room was very nice and also clean. Loved the cappuccino maker! Bagels and pastries, cereals, fruits, yogurt - lots of choices to get the day started right. The staff was very friendly every time we passed through the lobby and I appreciated them calling an airport taxi for us when we reluctantly had to leave. I would love to stay here again whenever we return to NYC. Thank you for making this trip so enjoyable!
- 4/5
The place is near Time square which is good. The room I stayed in is clean and comfortable. You can see it is quite old but still well maintained. I only stayed there for 1 night.
- 2/5
The location is ideal for commute but
- 1/5
In addition to that, the hotel is under-staffed and I waited a long time for reception and for luggage help. Dont go there!!!
- 3/5
The staff was amazing. The property needs some renovations if I’m honest
- 5/5
Awesome!
- 2/5
We called Front desk and no answer. Checked out n spoke to teller and it was like he never cared.
- 5/5
.I inadvertently left a pair of diamond (fake) stud earrings (a gift with very sentimental value). When I returned, 36 hrs later, Ray started calling employees to find them! With the help from the front desk clerck who was there the night we checked in, they located them and had them in my hand within 15 minutes! Our stay eas awesome, comfortable and I will definitely stay here again. Mike, the bellho was definitely helpful and pleasant.
- 5/5
Nice area convienent
- 4/5
Upon arriving, I was greeted by Jay who was very friendly and accommodating. The service the entire time was really great. The breakfast had a lot of offerings and was a great way to start each day I was there. The room was a very good size and very clean. The location was also perfect being in Midtown, as it was easy to walk or metro to anywhere I needed to go. I did ask the concierge if they had a wine cork opener, which they didn't, so I had to buy one (just in case that's something you are thinking about).
- 5/5
Hhhgv
- 4/5
They were very kind and stored our luggage (we got in too early for check in). Everyone was friendly.
- 1/5
Area is nice and room is decent but service was horrible. First time we got our keys, we got keys to a room that was already occupied. Then we got keys to another room and they didn’t work and had to go back down again to reactivate. Then our toilet wouldn’t flush and we went down to the lobby again to get someone to fix it and they said they’d send the bellboy but nobody ever came. Would not stay again, glad it was only for a night.
- 3/5
It's convienence, location and approach to business related commute, parking are major positive points.
- 2/5
Then space is issue . Food availability is good but coffee machine always breakdown.
- 5/5
Very good
- 3/5
The location was good and nearby shopping & time square. But the rooms were very noisy you can practically hear your neighbor talking, kids being loud, and you can hear everything that happens outside. One night we heard our neighbor having sex, that woke us up including my teenage kids heard everything. The hotel needs to renovate their walls and make soundproof walls to reduce the noise. Other than that everything else was was good,
- 1/5
The staff are nice and pleasant the room is in a terrible state for the price paid the walls had cracks the bathroom floor vinyl was swelling and the toilet falling through the floor. The ahower head was ancient which made taking a relaxing shower impossible. Despite the no disturb sign on the door staff entered my room each day mostly while i was out. Once while i was sleeping i woke up to the maid at 9 am despite still no disturb sign. This is only good in the sense that its a convient walk to nearby attractions. With the amount of hotels in the are find a different one the value for money here is terrible
- 4/5
Thank you
- 4/5
Our room door was very squeaky. Breakfast is very basic, no great options if you are diabetic. The bed was very comfortable. Would stay there again for the right price and situation.
- 3/5
They want to take higher amount what is written on booking site like if minimum 200 USD to hold they will go for 300 USD . Apart from that some surprise fees will come into account after departure like I received Facility fees while I already paid every thing in advance on booking app.
- 5/5
It was a good experience overall. Some parts of the hotel are a bit worn or older…but overall good experience and great location.
- 5/5
My stay was amazing! The workers were super friendly and helpful. Nothing went wrong during my stay! The standard room is small but perfect for just a solo or couples get away since you’re going to be in the city most of the day anyway you don’t need much space. The bathroom was beautiful and even got the chance to try a bidet for the first time. It’s only 5-10 minute walk from time square so it’s pretty close to everything. Loved it would stay again!
- 4/5
close to times square but the breakfast included is quite literally white bread and butter, just go out for breakfast.
- 5/5
The hotel is located in one of the best places in the city. It is a good option for the price and the fact that there is parking in front is very good.
- 5/5
We stayed one night, Room was clean and comfortable. Location is perfect for visiting Times Square, shopping and restaurants. Walking distance from Grand Central Station. Would stay again if in area.
- 3/5
We were only there one night. The room was clean. The lobby is very very small so it was crowded with people checking in. I think my biggest complaint is the incidental fee is $200 even for one night, which I feel is a bit much.
- 5/5
Definitely I will stay in this hotel next time i visit NY. Location excellent, staff very friendly, good continental breakfast. Highly recommended
- 5/5
This hotel was perfect for our 3 day stay. What an amazing location. We arrived before check in and were able to drop off our bags to explore the city. We did the same on the day of departure. The included breakfast was great. The room wasn’t anything fancy but very spacious. We appreciated the full size shower/shampoo sizes for our party of 5. We forgot a few things at home and they were happy to lend us what we needed. I highly recommend staying here!!!!
- 5/5

Memorable stay
- 4/5
Friendly people, it was an old building, but nicely renovated. We had a great room that connected through a little hallway. The location was excellent. I'm not sure the AC control was working correctly, but it was definitely keeping the room cool!
- 4/5
Hotel is an older building and a little dated but the Staff was very friendly and took care of all our needs. Had no issues with anything in the building or area. We needed a place for a family of 5 and this Hotel did the job! We were within walking distance of Time Square and enjoyed our stay.
- 2/5
The rooms, corridors and elevator are very small and depressing.
- 2/5
Bed and bed linen is uncomfortable/lumpy. Cloth head board seems dirty.
- 4/5
Great location. Fit the bill for a family trip to New York
- 4/5
Great hotel for a short stay, booked an overnight stay for my husbands birthday. We wanted to stay within walking distance of Times Square, the front desk supervisor even complimentary upgraded our room which we truly appreciated. This hotel also offers continental breakfast. We would stay again.
- 3/5
The employees couldn’t be nicer, room was clean but very dated and worn, the tiles in the bathroom were buckled. But a good location and free breakfast
- 5/5
So convenient
- 1/5
Was good but then it got bad
- 4/5
Fits 5 adults comfortably. You can’t beat the location. You can expect what you get for the price. Not the nicest hotel but we literally only slept here and it serves its purpose. I would stay again if just staying one night again. Staff is awesome and helpful!
- 5/5
Very cozy, love the shower
- 5/5
1- staff was very kind, accommodating and helpful. 2- Breakfast provided was much better than advertised- they offered cereal, oatmeal, toast, yogurt, variety of fruits and cheeses, fruit juice, and multiple bread selections. 3- They left their dining room open throughout the day- providing a convenient location to bring back food- as seating is limited to non existent at most food locations throughout the city. Also this gave us access to cold, filtered water- also hard to find. Overall we had a fantastic experience.
- 3/5
The hotel is really close to Time Square. The room was dirty
- 5/5
I really liked that the hotel was just two blocks from Times Square—it made it so easy for us to walk over and enjoy the nightlife. The location was also great for sightseeing, with museums and Fifth Avenue nearby.
- 5/5
It was a very nice stay and super convenient.
- 3/5
Staff was very friendly and treated us very well. Property is outdated and a little dingy. Our sofa bed was broken so near impossible to pull out and put back in. The AC unit also leaked so floor around unit was very wet. Mini fridge also leaked. No amenities. Continental breakfast was nice - people definitely take advantage of it and load up to go bags with items. Unfortunate for others who are just trying to enjoy the breakfast.
- 4/5
Staff was great, especially Billy. Property might need renovations but overall is a great place to stay due to location.
- 5/5
Friendly and helpful staff thx
- 1/5
The room was nasty
- 5/5
Perfect location. Friendly and efficient staff. Room comfortable and nice bathroom. Robes are always great to have too. Breakfast was just what needed and nice selection
- 5/5
Great property walking distance from Time Square.
- 5/5
The staff at the hotel were always nice, especially David the concierge at the hotel and Simon the manager always tried to help and offer the best they could. The hotel has a great breakfast and free coffee which is great and an area to sit throughout the day.
- 5/5
Excellent location and great breakfast
- 5/5
Great experience. Room was top notch. Water pressure in shower was excellent. House keeping and front desk, front door man all were very professional. I highly recommend staying here.
- 1/5
I was booked for two nights and they took my bag with all my stuff out of the room without telling me. The front desk made a mistake and I got back to an empty room and they acted like nothing happened. The man at the front desk made it seem like it was ok.but it wasn’t. Makes me wonder what else they can do without people knowing. You don’t feel safe after that.

This hotel is not a four star hotel
- 4/5
Bed was not firm enough
- 5/5
Clean and neat

Nightmare ! Pretty old ! Dirty ! Not professional at all !
- 5/5
To start off with I’m all about customer service. The employees that checked us in were amazing. Very friendly and made the check process easy. We would definitely stay there again
- 4/5
Was amazing, quite and clean, only the breakfast needs some upgrade, there is no protein for breakfast ( no eggs, no cold cuts or other)
- 3/5
The staff was great, friendly, accommodating, and very helpful! The building itself is old and should be renovated. The elevator functioned well, but creaked and shook a bit as it moved. We joked about it breaking every time we got on/off. The room floors were dirty, so dirty. We kept our shoes on and kept the pull-out bed open so our toddler had a place to sit and play. There were bugs in the bathroom (not roaches or ants, not sure what kind of bug). Beds were comfortable and the AC worked great. The shower worked well too. We didn’t complain to staff because honestly, it wasn’t that big of a deal, but I’m sharing all of this for those who find this type of thing unacceptable.
- 3/5
The location was unbeatable and the employees were very kind and helpful but the hotel itself was not in the best condition. Only one elevator was working so it took awhile to get up and down from the rooms and our room had noticeable damage to the walls and carpet. Overall, I would stay here again for the location but it's definitely not a 4 star hotel as advertised.
- 1/5
No safe No privacy at all Workers around the whole Corridor talking loudly even late at night Breakfast was a joke , horrible experience over all .
- 4/5
Great location!!
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable room close to all the Broadway action!
- 1/5
It cost $450 to stay here, I know manhattan is expensive, the room was okay, stains on the furniture, lumps in the bed, floor in the bathroom was sinking and uneven, for what I paid, I thought there would be a little bit of a higher quality experience, it felt dirty, I didn’t use the shower because of huge mirrors everywhere I was afraid there might be cameras and stuff, next time I go to NYC, I just won’t stay in manhattan it’s way too expensive if this is what $450 gets, I’m still shocked I paid that much for what was, probably the dirtiest hotel room I’ve ever slept in.
- 5/5
Tiny rooms but clean & quiet, including well-functioning AC, in noisy NY midtown. Little elegant touches in bathroom. Breakfast area has nice dining room.
