When we arrived at 4:00 PM, the AC was not cooling. I notified the front desk and was told an engineer would address it. After returning around 9:30 PM, the AC was still not working. At that point, we also discovered the sink and shower water were scalding hot and unusable. Staff sent an engineer, who was able to fix the AC, but the hot water issue was not resolved until the following day. We continued to experience intermittent overheating water throughout our three-night stay. The room also did not appear to have been thoroughly cleaned upon arrival, and all towel hooks had been removed from the bathroom, leaving exposed holes and mounting hardware behind. For the price paid, I expected the basic amenities and room condition to meet a higher standard. The bright spot was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant, professional, and genuinely tried to help. They did their best to make up for what appeared to be a poorly maintained facility.

Lobby is tiny but has decent amenities (paid snacks and free “fancy” water). Elevators are super sketchy. Room itself was clean. Air conditioning very unreliable. At times our room was very very hot. Do not recommend this hotel for those travelling with young children as the rooms are very small. Very easily accessible to multiple trains. 24 hour CVS around the corner. Walking distance to Southstreet Seaport.

Easy to pull up and unload luggage. 24-hour helpful and friendly staff. Neat and tidy room, compact but clean and functional with sensible 11am check-out time. Good value and right next door to shops and restaurants, and walking distance to the nearby car-park. Also, free hot beverages for guests in the lobby. The jackhammer and drilling noise from the building site next door at 8.00am which couldn't be blocked out even with the double-glazing. And overnight parking was very expensive at $55, where the parking assistants insisted that ONLY they could actually park the car when I would have preferred to do it myself to avoid possible damage that the rental company could then bill me for. Also, when we drove back to the hotel to collect our luggage, the pull-in space was occupied by a large SUV that had been parked there for at least a couple of hours, thus obliging others to risk parking on double-yellows nearby. Staff should keep that space clear perhaps?

We arrived very early on Friday and were allowed to check our bags in till our room was ready. This allowed us to venture out into the city and do some shopping and sight seeing. We came back and it did take a few minutes, but we were finally able to check in to our rooms. The staff was very helpful and the overall cleanliness of the room was in great shape. For what we needed the room it was perfect. Saturday night it was a little loud but it was due to the bar across the street and no one at hotels fault for that. It is in the older part of Manhattan, so the streets are very narrow and you can hear street noise. The good news was we were so tired from our adventures that this did not affect us. If you do have small children it could though. As when the police came by with sirens on you could hear it very loud and clear.

Nothing Customer service ; Booking a room. Lied about early check in times, can’t wait in lobby even though you have a room there before check in. No refund given
- 4.5/5
The room is clean and comfortable. I love the location at the financial district because it offers a lot of restaurants and the subway with various lines is close by. The room is small, but that is New York.
- 0.5/5
Nothing. I was in a car accident the day of check in and asked for a refund, willing to show proof of said accident that left my car unable to be driven and the staff decided to decline it because my card was already on file. I tried emailing and calling numerous time to talk to someone, but to no avail. That is extremely bad business and I will not be staying again. Also, the staff never picked up the phone. I called numerous times, to never get someone to pick up the phone. And when they picked up for the “Booking” personnel that was trying to help me, they were rude and short with him as well and hung up on him also.

Great location, easy access to subway, room was a good size and extremely clean. Definitely recommend
- 4/5
The room was decent and though small and comparison. There really was not storage as I am one of those guests that likes to fully unpack their luggage. However very convenient to subway and had plethora of food places near. Definitely a hotel I can stay at again for a impromptu weekend getaway as this what my stay was.
- 4/5
I loved the location and convenience to the subway/restaurants! There was a small homeless issue outside the first few days, but was resolved!

- 3.5/5
Good location, nice staff, clean rooms. I asked for adjoining rooms as we were traveling with children. This was not honored. We did get to very small rooms that were close.

The shape of the room was strange. There was no mini fridge to store our leftovers.

The staff started harassing me about payment four days before check in even though I selected pay at property. Then while I was in transit they said they DO NOT TAKE CASH which is a lie from hell ! So I rebooked through Expedia another hotel. Everyone was copied on the harassment emails even the hotel manager who allowed such harassment. Marriot at some properties is a joke. Their employees don’t care and want to make your stay difficult. I ended up at Wyndham which was lovely.

Great location and clean. There were issues with the heat in the room. We called downstairs to report it and no one answered the phone. The next day when we checked out, we told them about the problem. They apologized and said someone would reach out. No call yet and it’s three days since we checked out.
- 3.5/5
Location As someone who frequently travels across Asia, I was genuinely surprised by the lack of hospitality at this price point. While the hotel wasn’t significantly cheaper than others, the experience felt noticeably lacking. Beyond a brief welcome on the first day, there was little to no sense of service or attentiveness throughout the stay.
- 4/5
Location. So close to Fulton St. easy peasy. Nothing I didn’t like, the property is a bit dated, but value for your stay, it matches. Can’t complain.
- 5/5
I had no idea it’s proximity to subways and to all these sites downtown, so that was incredible, and the hotel itself was very cheek and the perfect in New York style place to stay! I guess. The only thing I would say is they could offer a continental breakfast, very late, and a little more coffee options, but not much was wrong.
- 3/5
Fantastic staff The heating system in to room was incredibly loud and kept me awake. Without it it was too cold in the room but with on it was crazy loud…
- 1.5/5
The room was mostly clean and the shower had good water pressure. Upon arriving at 1:30pm, we were told that our room was ready but could only check-in before 4:00pm if we paid an additional $100 fee. That told us immediately that customer service was a low priority and money was the highest priority. Then, upon arriving in our room at 4:00pm, we found it to be incredibly small and warm. The thermostat was set to 65 degrees but my own travel alarm/thermometer showed the room as being around 76-77 degrees. The bathroom had only a sliding door that made noise if you opened or closed it. But worst of all was that the tiny luggage cabinet could only accommodate one carry-on suitcase. Our standard-sized suitcase was too wide, which meant that it had to be lain on the floor pathway, blocking access to the front door and bathroom. (Nowhere else on the floor was wide enough either, since the bed went right up to within 2 feet of the room walls. While the shower pressure was very good, the pink mildew/mold on the shower wall was concerning. Later in the evening, when we walked into the lobby, the person at the reception desk never looked up from their phone to greet us or say hello. We could have been anyone off the street walking in and they didn’t care… which did not make us feel safe. This is the first time I’ve visited a Marriott hotel and left knowing that nothing could convince me to come back to this hotel again.

When I asked the manager (Crystal Estepa) about why it wasn’t offered, she explained that staff might forget to mention promotions because they are busy handling multiple guests. I pointed out that at the time of my check-in, it was just me, so forgetting couldn’t really be attributed to being busy. The manager then became defensive when I suggested that it may have simply been overlooked. I raised this feedback not to complain, but to help improve the experience for future guests. I recommended that the hotel put up a sign or reminder at the front desk so staff consistently mention the promotion to every guest during check-in. I feel it’s important for management to ensure promotions like this are communicated consistently, especially when it’s a small adjustment that would make the guest experience better. While I enjoyed my stay, this part of the check-in experience left me disappointed, and I hope it’s addressed for future guests.

What a disappointing experience. I connected with staff about a broken window, one hinge not connected at all so if you open it, the window could literally fall on you. Their pool table was completely falling apart; the pocket would fall to the ground if you made a ball in. Spoke with staff and have still not received a resolution almost a week later. Instead I received an email that was addressed to another guest who they offered more to. The customer service here really needs to improve. Subpar for what I know this brand to be.

1. The king bed is too large for the space....there is very little space on the sides to access the bed from the side. 2. The bathroom door does not close properly and water leaks onto the toilet floor whenever I showered. 3. The Air conditioner / Heater makes a very loud sound every time it cycles on and continues to be loud till it cycles off. 4. The room was too dark, it needs more lighting, expecially in the area of the TV center.

The entire facility was very clean. Good place for a nights rest. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. The room was smaller than I expected though well designed for efficiency. The hotel is a modernized boutique facility, I enjoyed the place good base camp. Though the hotel has some breakfast items for sale I would suggest several of the close by restaurants/ bagel/pizza places for food. There bar was not opened yet, adjoining a comfy lounge and patio area. Not sure how important that would be as there are many pubs in the area. The neighborhood has a family friendly feel.

The room was super hot because I don’t know why they do a “winter mood” and the outside temprature is just around 60-70 F. We have 4 people in a room and we could not sleep at night because it is humid and hot, tha AC was only at 65F and can not goes any lower cause it is a “winter mood” like they said. The actualy tem in a room is 85F and it feel like I slept at the room with broken AC. Btw it is not worth the penny. Don’t stay here

Room was clean and nice but bathroom was tiny and kept hitting myself on shower door handle when using the room. Hallway carpet was noticeably stained and either needs to be cleaned or replaced. Other guests were in and out all night, slamming doors and having entire conversations in the hallway as if they were in their own home. Got very little sleep.

The room and hotel itself were satisfactory, and the rates on Expedia were good. However, my experience was ruined by the way staff handled an important package that had been delivered to the property for me. The front desk could not locate it and told me to speak with the supervisor, who then directed me to email the operations manager. Unfortunately, the manager never responded. This lack of care, accountability, and follow-through left me without essential items I needed for my trip, and I could not replace them in time. To make matters worse, each time we passed the front desk, staff avoided eye contact, which only reinforced my impression of guilt and indifference. While the accommodations met expectations, the unprofessional handling of my package and the dismissive attitude of the staff left me with a very negative impression. Sadly, this bad experience put a huge damper on what should have been an enjoyable stay.

They tried charging me $125 pet fee per night when the website says $50 per pet per accommodation. I only had 1 pet. Also, they did not deliver the promised amenities like dog toy treat etc. Only received a pair of towels for my 2 night stay. Charged an extra fee of $150 for “pet clean fee”

You get a clean good sized room and good basic service for a good price. Great staff. Area is great for cheap eats.Gym is small. It has enough equipment for a good workout as.long as there aren't more than 2-3 people.

Ran out of hot water on two separate days. Mirror fell off door. Shower door leaked all over the floor and nothing was done or said even though we complained about it for days.

The hotel was in a good location, but the street it is located on is one-way and small. The room was small, and the bed took up most of the real estate. there was no mini fridge in the room. I would stay again if it were a final option.

I feel that reception can be friendlier when greeting or assisting guests. You'd have to come and talk to them before they can attend to you. There is less to none anticipation of guest needs. Especially to those who are not fluent in english, approaching the reception may be a little intimidating for them.

I couldn’t stay in my room the first night due to a pipe busting in my room. This after my flight got delayed twice. I had go stay in a holiday inn which is not a near as nice as the aloft.

The shower leaked constantly after every shower, so we would have to ask for many towels to keep the floor from flooding. The bed in the room was not the same as what I booked and the room didn’t even have a fridge. The staff was okay, there was only friendly faces when we left the hotel. Area is great and near a lot of shopping spots, but difficult to locate for Ubers.

Firstly there's a lot of work in the street, and so a lot of scaffolding to duck and dodge. Secondly there was a constant hum in the room. We turned off the A/c, to make sure it wasn't that. We thought that it may have been something associated with the building work going on in the street. But on further investigation, and going up to the top floor in the stairwell. It became obvious that the noise was coming from the roof of the hotel itself. Not sure if this is the Buildings A/c unit, or something else. But it was sending the vibration noise through the building. We were on the 13th floor (of 17) and if we were to stay again, I'd want to be on the 10th floor or less, just to avoid the noise.

Starting off was a little rocky as we were put into a smaller room than what we paid for. We spoke to front desk the first night and were not given any viable accommodations. Which was upsetting. The next morning, however, morning staff was more than accommodating and was able to fix the room issue which I appreciated. The area was clean, all staff nice and amazing. Loved the location.

The hotel has a good accessibility. Room size is small. But the hospitality is totally gone for a toss. The manager Mr. Crystal Estepa fraudulently charged my credit card Rs.2500 more than a month after my stay was over, that too without any prior permission. Sadly when you travel back to other country there's no way you can recover your money. They wont accept money through pre paid travel cards. And once they make any payment through your credit card then God help you. They will store its entire info and charge you anytime after you leave the place even if you clear your dues.

We stayed for Christmas. The location of the property is what stood out for me! It very accessible from and to other parts of the city! Also Valiesha is great!! :)
- 5/5
Perfect location, 3 subway lines are accessible with a very short walk. Lively neighborhood with a good variety of bars and restaurants. The room is well kept, the shower is very hot, the bed is comfortable. What I didn't like was the duvet and the bed sheets in general because they come undone too easily. The carpeting like most hotels turned my white socks gray, so bring slippers.
- 5/5
This is an excellent location. Although it is basic, it was exactly what we needed.
- 5/5
The area is very nice and close. It is close to the metro station. The room was very good and clean. The stuff was always kind and they helped us. Im gonna come again for sure.

This hotel was somewhat below standards for any property under the Marriot brand. Our room was cold, complementary supplies were always out, and no bartender on staff either of the nights we stayed there. Would not recommend.
- 5/5
Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Very clean rooms and I loved the “welcome Tiffany” touch on the TV screen when I walked in.
- 3/5
Bathroom was nice. I reserved a king bed and was given a queen. I spoke to someone at the desk after the first night and he insisted I was incorrect. We slept poorly given the smaller mattes. Sheets did not include a fitted sheet so the bottom sheet popped loose the first night. We had no maid service and the towels were of poor quality.

I only stayed one night but the room was perfect. Nice modern design, very clean, enough space for me to move easily around the room, and a bed that was super comfy. The staff at the front desk was very welcoming and friendly. The staff that I encountered in the elevator were also incredibly friendly. I checked in a bit early and was pleasantly surprised to see that my room was already ready. The location is perfect and centrally located to major subway stops and a quick walk to food and shops.
- 5/5
We have stayed here previously due to the location and reasonable price. Staff was super friendly this stay, and the hotel is very convenient to the subway, local attractions such as the World Trade Center and the Oculus. Many food choices and shopping choices near the hotel. The room was clean, our nights were wonderfully quiet and comfortable. I appreciate the fitness room with clean, well working machines. Will stay here again!

Felicia and Alex went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed during my stay. I was on crutches and they helped me with so many things.
- 5/5
My stay was great in a convenient location...manager on duty was very helpful....with it being a solo stay room was just right for me...will definitely consider this location when i come back

Here are the things you should know about before you book this hotel. One, they will charge you days before your actual trip so be ready for that banking statement. Two, the location is in a VERY sketchy alleyway. I as a woman did not feel safe whatsoever in such a location that so dark, filled with trash, and sewer. Three, service overall is very bad. The hallways smelled of weed and they have a place downstairs for utensils (which are never stocked) and one lone microwave that barely works. 4, the WiFi goes out occasionally so dont expect to have it all the time. Overall just be careful and make sure you know what you’re getting into before booking here.

Aloft Manhattan Downtown was a great stay, they were very accommodating and very attentive upon arrival. Staff was all around great. The location was excellent and was located across a sports bar which was convenient. There are also many restaurants, bars, and Starbucks around the area. I would come back and stay here again. It looks like Moxy has some competition.

A great location. Very walkable. We loved that the Brooklyn Bridge was so close. The bar right across the street was an added plus.
