    Great location and unit!! Everything was very clean and worked perfectly. The bed even slept pretty good especially considering I have had back surgery. We also thoroughly enjoyed the full kitchen with silverware, plates, etc. You absolutely cannot beat how nice the building/units are especially combined with how spacious the units are. It was a little hard to get additional towels/bedding but I would suggest making the request at check in since there are only 2 towels sets in a unit. They will bring them though but needs to be during housekeeping hours during the day and ordered in advance.

    Solid location and room size, booked it mainly because it was a full size hotel room. Not a full blown service hotel so I didn't mind that the front staff is just one dude. Room had a decent view, but one window was completely covered in white residue from the outside. AC is automatic, so to turn it off you have to lift this heavy metal plate. Dropped it on on my toe at night "Ouch" Code for room and door to get in is a little annoying too.

    The property is nice and clean. Room is ok; there is also a spacious and comfortable lounge with a wellness center. We did not find bedsheets for the sofa bed upon arrival, so we had to sleep all together in the king bed (we were four guests). In addition, the coffee machine (a Nespresso) was not working, so we were unable to have our morning coffee. It was repaired the following day, but they tested the . machine with all the provided capsules leaving us without any coffee. So basically no coffee for the two days. Finally, we were only granted a late check-out until 1 pm instead of the usual 2 pm, without any explanation. Despite this, I was charged the full late check-out fee. It is also worth noting that there is no fridge available, which can be inconvenient for storing food

    Location is great—easy access to subway stations. Studio is huge and felt like my NYC studio of my dreams. At first I had mixed feelings about the keyless lock entries but after the first day I appreciated not having to carry around a hotel card or key. Staff is super friendly and accommodating, especially Rose and Rachel. Walls are a little thin—sometime I could hear others on the floor talking if they were loud enough. Not a big deal—just turned up the volume on my TV.

    The location was great, and there was lots of space and storage for luggage and clothes. Getting off the elevator into the construction zone, with dirt and dust. The unit was very run down with damage to furniture and bathroom. It didn’t look like it was cleaned properly, or things put back from previous guest. Not enough light in bedroom area. The biggest issue was the 6ft marble coffee table that had to be moved to use the sofa bed, which we needed to do every night. Ridiculous!

    The property is under being renovated so a lot of dust on my floor. The rooms were great and the laundry facilities are free and brand new. It was looking being in an apartment. The only complaint for me was the dust from the construction.

    17 John was a fabulous location. There was so much more space than I would have anticipated having previously lived in NYC. There was more than enough closet space, a perfect seating area for coffee and all the amenities in the bathroom. The entrance was beautiful and smelled like a five star hotel. The TV was not working.

    The location was fantastic with easy access to the subway, shopping, and many New York attractions. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the elevators were quick, and the staff was exceptional—especially Genesis, who was always warm and helpful whenever we needed anything. Adam, the owner, also kindly helped adjust our reservation after a winter storm canceled our flights, which meant so much to our family. Honestly, nothing. We had a wonderful stay! Everything was beyond perfect!

    The size of the apartment Noise disruption from inside the building via elevators, disturbed and woke at night both me and my child, wear and tear on the ceiling and walls, light fixtures(some bulbs were flickering, HEATING did not work at all and in the middle of winter, no access to wait in lounge when waiting for check in, uncomfortable wait as no access to toilets for 2.5 hours.

    Lights in the room worked sometimes, other times didn’t. I arrived to no heating in the room and the building. That the progressed to no hot water the following day. Ongoing maintenance issues. Rug on the floor was filthy, curtain blinds disgusting and caked in food. Horrible stay, I will not stray from the Artizen hotel across the road ever again (my poor decision) I actually aim to make a claim with my bank as the stay was so awful.

    The room is great but it was very noisy — it’s not sound proof at all & I was on the street side which made it hard to get a good night sleep with constant noise all night. Also, there was a lot of moving around in the room above me at all hours.

    The hotel is definitely worth every cent. Clean, very comfy, great location and the staff was friendly as well as accommodating. The presidential suite was more than enough for our family of four. The Fulton train station is a few doors down. Dining options are wonderful.

    Our room was huge! Nice, apartments style with kitchen, 2 sitting areas and bedroom, bath. Reasonably quiet. Not your typical hotel experience...someone is on duty at all times but it is not a hotel lobby, reception area. Honestly, we asked for a pillow and it took days and multiple requests to get one. Finally my husband went to the room on the hall where the cleaning staff was based and got one. We didn't need any services and we were fine with that. But don't expect to have your beds made, etc. Convenient location....odd vibe with sort of gritte side street vibe, but never felt unsafe. Easy access to subway and all of lower Manhattan. I would stay again.

There was such a scarcity / cheap mentality of things like coffee (2 packs for a 5 night stay), exactly 2 towels for my husband and I (so don’t think of one for your hair or if one towel gets dirty), and no cleaning during stay. Most unfortunate and uncomfortable were the multiple emails that pretended to asked if we needed anything. When we asked for a one hour earlier check-in or late check-out we would be happy to pay for, that wasn’t available. Instead they pressured us to check in later than the 4pm checkin time to give the cleaning staff more time. Then we had folks at our door before check out time. They also emailed us to let them know as soon as we are out so they can come in to clean. I wouldn’t stay again because of how unprofessional and tacky this communication was. Just let us check in at 4pm and check out at 11am as we paid thousands for without all these emails to let them know if we are arriving later or leaving earlier so they can have more time to clean (though they never cleaned during our stay).

    We booked the suite for 18 days. But at 14 days, we found out there was a rat in our room. It ate our food in the fridge because the fridge somehow opened. We asked the staffs to check it up, and they found a rat house behind the fridge. It means the rat was there the whole time we were staying. We had an 16 months, so we had to find another place with a higher price due to the picked season. Hate this NY experience so bad though the hotel refund the last 4 days to us.

    My room door lock was broken, when I proceeded to tell the booking staff member, Eros, he told me that building management will be up shortly.     I went down to the front desk to ask if I could have some towels (no) toilet paper (yes) and asked the guy if there were some way to get in touch with him other than taking the elevator down (no phone in the room). Spoiler alert - the answer was no. When I looked surprised he just said "yeah, this place doesn't make any sense to me." I felt really bad for him. None of the common areas (like the lobby where he sits at the desk, were air conditioned and it was 90 degrees out. He said "yeah... I got my little fan though" and pointed at a desk fan. Oh, the code to my room would randomly stop working and I would have to take the elevator back down to get a new one. And the lobby smelled bad.

    In regard to service, there was typically one person at the front desk, all of which seemed more akin to a doorman of an office building than a hotel. There was an overall lack of hospitality training and feeling of luxury and service that the online images portray.

    I’ve stayed here many times over the last 5 years often for a week or two at a time while the property was under different management. While my email communication got quick answers, I spent two sweaty nights (the windows barely open), and no offer to change rooms or otherwise provide relief despite my requests. I’ve made repeated requests to management, but now that I’ve checked out am being ghosted. The problem with these apart hotel places is when something goes wrong it feels like no one is around to help.

The lighting really could have been better in the room, even with all the lights on it was dim and the top bolt on my door didn't work. Overall it was a really great room, clean, large, easy to use, and a great location with the subway on the corner of the same block. The representatives at the reception were very nice. The hotel is close to the World Trade Center and the 9.11 Memorial. Adjacent to the hotel is a metro station, a supermarket a few minutes' walk away and many shops and cafes around. The stay was very comfortable except for a small incident with one of the air conditioners that did not work and was not repaired even though we asked. We did not respond to the request to get another blanket. Another thing that would be good if they improved is an incoming lobby mode. In fact there is no lobby, it is not a hotel in the usual sense but a building where the 2-6 floors have offices and the 7-14 floors have an apartment for short-term or long-term rent. Bottom line, the stay at Sonder City Hall was successful for us

    Downtown location is very convenient to the WTC, shopping, and dining, and it’s right next door to the Fulton subway station (multiple lines, and you won’t even get wet in the rain). 16 minutes to Jersey City by PATH, and multiple lines can take you uptown, plus close to Tribeca. Great long term stay- friendly front desk, very easy check in and check out, laundry room is a huge bonus. The 1 BR was a huge space by NY standards. with comfy beds and google streaming TV. Very happy with Sonder, and highly recommend!

    The location of the hotel is great. We liked the fact that sonder intelligently cut down services we don’t need-like a doorman or ice machines- and replaced it with smart things- like a mobile key to get in and out of the hotel and one’s room, a small kitchen in the room, fully stocked with plates and silverware and coffee cups etc. we liked that it was very clean and modern. We will look for other Sonder hotels in the future!

    Superior! This fully appointed studio had a high end and fully equipped kitchenette; very large and clean bathroom; and spectacular bed, sleeping and dining area! Easy self-checkin and building access, as well as very capable and service oriented front desk staff. After a complex, national itinerary staying in multiple hotels cross-country, Sonder was heads and shoulders above the others! Very much looking forward to trying this brand in other countries / locations!

    Communication is a huge issue. I was given a 1 PM late check out the night before leaving that was canceled next morning. Had to hurry to leave at 11 AM. When asked Sonder Chat Service about it, they said no way, we will stick to protocol, just ignored their previous late check out approval. Really messy and unorganized.

    Perfect for our NYC trip. The apartment was very clean and well-appointed. Easy access to multiple subway lines and nearby attractions and restaurants. I never think hotels have enough hanging bars for towels, so that would be my only complaint. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

    The room was so beautiful, spacious, clean, with a well-equipped kitchen. The highlight were the ultra comfortable king size bed and the luxurious bathroom! Check in & check out were super easy, great communication whenever we had a question. We highly recommend it for couples, families & groups of friends! We had a magical stay.
