    The photos on Expedia was inaccurate and misleading. It was overpriced for the quality of the room. The only good thing it was very close to the ocean and the boardwalk

    The property is run down with very questionable characters. The front desk, however, is on call and very friendly and helpful. Requested a lot of information for the car and pets which felt correct. The room was clean and everything worked. In the morning room service was up and cleaning which gave us a good sign that cleaning was taken seriously. Good place to sleep but perhaps not much else.

    I was very disappointed with my stay. The hotel was extremely run-down, outdated, and not well maintained. The rooms looked old, the furniture was worn, and the overall cleanliness was below expectations. For the price charged, I expected a much nicer and more updated property. The hotel did not reflect the photos or value promised. Unfortunately, I do not feel the stay was worth the cost and would not recommend it to others. i Didn’t sleep there

    My husband and I enjoyed our stay, but in all transparency, you get what you pay for. We liked the cash deposit for the room, and the bed was actually way more comfortable than I would have imagined. Even though King's Highway is extremely loud during a bike week and memorial day weekend, we were pleasantly surprised how well the room drowned out the noise. Our sheets and towels were clean, overall the room was in good shape, and the people behind the front desk are friendly. The location is great. The boardwalk and Broadway at the beach are a short drive or Uber way.

    I didn't get the pleasure of staying at this drug infested place when I arrived it was people out the door using Crack,I immediately left and try to cancel my booking but of course they denied it and kept my money if your traveling to Myrtle Beach please don't stay here and this place doesn't look like the picture...

    Terrible experience. The room was dirty, smelled bad, and bedding was unacceptable. I canceled immediately at check-in, and staff promised a full refund and said they contacted the property and Expedia. Since then, no refund and no one has reached out. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Highly disappointed.

    Location and price pretty good. Can walk to the board walk and beach. Beds were clean and comfortable. The room is dated. Furniture is from the 80’s. The floors were filthy, had to keep shoes on (feet were black) I did report when we left. The toilet seat is too small for the toilet. The a/c either needs good cleaning or replacing. A little updating can go a long way, as well as some paint. The area seems a little sketchy, although new building going up may help change things. But owners need to update and clean up area.

    A few of the staff were respectful, the rest was very disrespectful. The only reason I was there for my children. I don’t like Myrtle Beach most of the time in those old types of hotels you get those type of people that choose color over currency, and I’ve never known a hotel that wanted you to check out at 10 in the morning and charge you extra fees like resort fee fees when there’s no resort and charge you three dollars for a bag of ice or one dollar for a cup of ice places like this take advantage of the homeless and make it hard for people of color because some of the staff in my opinion are stealing from the customers

    This motel looks nothing like it shows in advertising. We got there on a Friday ask about pool we were told it would open later then when we checked out still had pool locked. Motel only had one thing going for it and that was the hot water in the shower. People making loud noises all night long where you can’t get no sleep. Had some drug users above us sliding something g across the floor all hours of the night. Room all run down on the inside not been updated in at least 10 years. Mold smell in rooms drain in tub and sink not hardly draining. Will never stay here again for sure.

From the moment I pulled up, there was five police cars in front of the hotel the hotel was under a different name, not the name that I booked it under, so I was hoping that wasn’t the hotel but after I circled the block and realized on a small sign, it said the name of the hotel that I booked in I pulled in the parking lot right up to the door. The door was locked man motion me to go to this little plexiglass window and the after driving 16 hours straight from Connecticut. He said I can’t park there. I have to move my car cause cars are trying to get through. All I saw was a bunch of homeless walking around the hotel property. I don’t even think anybody had a car so I moved my car like he asked and then he proceeds to tell me there’s a $15 parking charge that was not stated on the booking as well. I got to the room and I thought I was in a homeless shelter as people lurked about I was afraid to take my belongings out the car, but I had to. I felt very uneasy in that room. I felt like I was in a homeless shelter. It was very dated not that clean. I was afraid of bedbugs. I had to put towels down on the bed so I felt comfortable to sleep and then I saw it on the dresser, a pest control card that confirmed my concerns went to take a shower and no hot water. The TV was blaring people were fighting in the parking lot across the street. Needless to say I didn’t get any sleep !! I checked out 8 o’clock in the morning after not even arriving until somewhere after nine RUN from this place do not book.!!!

    When we arrived my husband went in to get our room and finish up the booking process. He was told he needed to pay for additional fees that were not mentioned upon arriving. He was also told he had to sign recipes to complete the booking. They were rude and asked for to much apart from what was expected and paid for. Place seems like a scam and is definitely run down. Not worth the hassle.

    The building is very old and run down. The door to the room barely closed, and the AC unit was outdated. Only one person could shower at a time—if you tried to shower after someone else, there was no hot water. The room smelled musty. The only good thing was that the staff was pleasant.

    Thank you Mr Joey for your hospitality, and all staff as well . This is pet friendly and was a great deal for being at walking distance to ocean blvd. And broad walk from 7th Ave to the pier at 2nd avenue ior 7th AVE to walk to the next pier or park on oppositive area . Many restaurants on beach area .git free WiFi, free do it yourself larking . Very simple location microwave, small refrigerator, TV , ac the perfect affordable with super friendly staff

    Completely false advertising. I have stayed at an OYO in Las Vegas and it was completely different than Myrtle Beach, this is NOT an OYO Hotel and I’m unsure how they can legally list as such. It is literally called the “Lancer Motel” and has deteriorating furniture, stained mattresses, limited hot water, SUPER RUSTED OLD REFRIGERATORS. Otherwise safe and the staffs nice enough, cheap pet fee.

    The property has cockroaches we stayed in room 109. saw roaches called Expedia and they moved us to a different building across the parking lot. We were able to switch our flight home from Sunday to Friday night. So flushed $2100 down the toilet for a one night one day stay.

    You get what you pay for with this hotel. One of the cheapest, but, location is about 5 min drive to the boardwalk. Inside is dated, but didnt see any bugs. Staff was friendly. Water hot. If all you are doing is using this as a place to crash for a night, its good for that. If you are expecting amenities or an environment that is nicer, well, you should book a more expensive hotel for that

    Nice location - only 5-10min from the beach We had to pay unexpected fees when we arrived to get the keys (15 or 20$/night were added to what we already pay on Booking) which made the trip more expensive that we wanted. Basically we chose this hotel because it was cheaper than other but with those extra fees we could have gone in a better place.

Second the Expedia listing states the price with all taxes and fees included .Minus the refundable deposit. Imagine my surprise when the front desk hit me with a $45.00 extra property fee that nobody can explain what it’s for. Third the rooms are very old and run down . I wasn’t expecting to be in a five star hotel but the staff could at least do some basic maintenance to keep up the appearance. Lastly Staff is always suspicious and constantly looking around to see if commit a violation of the rules like a mother watching a child. Just so they can eject you from the room and keep your money . On a positive note the place was very quiet though I’ll give them that. But I don’t think I’ll will ever return here .

    This is the worst hotel I have stayed so far. I will not stay there even if someone will offer a free stay here. The hotel/motel charged a $15 property fee even though hotels.com stated all fees included. The property is old and had a feeling of 1990s. The bathroom was cramped and water was taking too long to become hot and very slow. People were smoking and drinking just outside the room and even though mine was a non smoking room but just outside people smoking made me not to leave the room and stand outside. Definitely not a family friendly place to stay. Not worth the money and time.

The bed nearest the door had to be moved out of the way to get in. The electrical outlets were all behind furniture. The towels were like sandpaper. The hotel was actually called “The Lancer”, hard to find when you believe the name is “OYO”. The photos depicted are at least 30 years old , when the place was new. The office is actually a window where you check in from the outside. The room had smells and dust. The neighborhood was really scary. The part of town that you don’t go into after dark. It’s also supposed to be on the beach, it’s actually a few blocks away. The pool was slimy looking, green and with a lot of debris. Just do yourself a favor and do not stay here. The clerk was nice when we checked in but as soon as we came back to check out , he was very rude. They did give us our money back after several complaints. Spend the extra $$ and get something clean,check out the few photos we were able to get.

    First shift employees is awesome third shift idk who it was but the “security guy following us asking us what room we’re in and do we stay there half way down the block didn’t identify his self or nothing I told him check the registration if the car don’t match to tow it we went to the front desk the third shift lady says they don’t do that there they don’t check registrations

    The elderly gentleman at window [ no access in to a lobby doors locked was very friendly. He explained there would be a deposit 100.00 and ahotel fee 35.00 charged. The 100.00 deposit would be refunded after stay. The rooms could be seriously updated and building dire need of painting. The towels were the thinnest I have ever seen used at a hotel. So maybe 2 more sets should be provided. Especially since maybe showering at least twice a day. Tub grout needs refresh. Light in bathroom needed cleaning you could see dead bugs in there.     The elderly gentleman at window [ no access in to a lobby doors locked was very friendly. He explained there would be a deposit 100.00 and ahotel fee 35.00 charged. The 100.00 deposit would be refunded after stay. The rooms could be seriously updated and building dire need of painting. The towels were the thinnest I have ever seen used at a hotel. So maybe 2 more sets should be provided. Especially since maybe showering at least twice a day. Tub grout needs refresh. Light in bathroom needed cleaning you could see dead bugs in there. We loaded up cleaning supplies and our own bedding and prayed for the best. We knew it wasn't going to be the Hyatt but we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived and the gentleman working the desk was great. We found out room to be extremely clean, fresh white linens/bed spread. I immediately pulled them off along with the mattress cover inspecting for filth or bugs...spotless. The beds were very comfy, bathroom was old but clean. Furniture was old but suited its purpose. Air conditioner kept it nice and cool. And to our surprise there was a clean saline pool open around the clock! We were a quick walk from the boardwalk so it's very conveniently located and our budget, last minute mini vacay was great! Yes the property is old but they have done some basic remodeling/ painting, it's kept clean and we did not see a single bug dead or alive!

    Cons: seen better furniture on curb alerts. Everything about the place screamed they don't care. Instead of an ice machine was a cooler with a communal bag of ice to dip your hand in. The office door was locked with a window you talked to the employee through from outside. The quality of the room was about as low as I've ever seen. Sometimes you "get what you pay for" this didn't even meet that. Pay the little bit more for a better place.

    The room is NOTHNG like the pictures….NOTHING! The beds are small. The room smell like smoke…it’s awful! The toilets look like it’s been fighting with many butts! The floors had sand and dirt particles on them. The window unit is loud but not loud enough to drain out the cars passing by on the highway or the arguing couple that was next door(who argued from 7pm until 12am AND woke up arguing)! When checking in I was told I needed to pay an extra fee when I was already charged a booking fee by the booking site(BE AWARE)! There are NO outlets so if you need to work(use computer or iPad) or charge a phone you’re out of luck…it’ll die! The toilet paper is super thin and there is no iron or ironing board. The shower is small.

    Room was dirty! There were dead roaches behind night stand. Found live roaches in the bed. Refrigerator was dirty and stained. I only gave 1 star because 0 stars wasn’t an option. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

    We checked in to our hotel, skeptical when we arrived but going off the reviews we figured we’d avoid being picky and decided not to “judge the book by its cover”. We attempted to head into the lobby to check in just to find out they don’t allow anyone into the lobby, they make you go around the side to a barred window for check in. Only time you usually have to do that is when you keep getting robbed or the area is just that unsafe. Anyways, we checked in, then headed to our “motel room” (this is definitely like a motor lodge, it’s not a hotel) just a couple feet away. There was a car running only 12inches from the door with its tailpipe going straight into the room. We still proceeded into the room to find it was HORRENDOUS. Paint peeling, toilet seat looks like it went through a shredder somehow, and more. We were so taken back because it was not like that in the reviews and pictures. We quickly checked back out within 5 minutes of check in. We were beyond polite and had no issues with the staff. However, we’ve since tried to get a refund for that night since we left and had to stay somewhere else. But it has been denied multiple times even though the room was rented to someone else. Very disappointing. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs!!!! It’s worth the small extra to go somewhere else.

    If I had one real complaint, it would be the $100 deposit. This is noted on the Hotels.com page, but not that it is a CASH deposit, rather than a credit card hold. I don’t object to the deposit, but it’d have been nice to know in advance to have cash on my person.

    The people that run it are extremely nice and very friendly. Don’t let the outside conditions distract you (they are literally across from the ocean). It’s within walking distance of the boardwalk, less then 1.5 miles from broadway at the beach.

    This was the dirtiest motel I've ever been to. The staff was unfriendly, you can only communicate with the front office through a front slot to which they can then ring you inside. The door jammed, the drapes fell down. There was no coffee maker in the room or anywhere on the property. There seems to have been an attempt at one point to do some upgrades - those were started then abandoned. The motel occupants were very sketchy - and nightly carloads of bass blaring car systems cruising in and out of the parking lot. The motel is also situated in a very seedy part of Myrtle Beach. Frightening motel!

    So OYO bought out a previous hotel called lancer. The room it self was clean minus the dead bugs. Still needs some peat control. The property was not as seen in pictures and the pool is not working. The condition of the hotel from the out side is rough. Staff was friendly.

    We check in 3 ,and check out 6. There were died cockroach in bathroom Not clean sink ,, Smells very awful; I will not never ever booking this hotel again .

    This was the worst place I have ever stayed in my life. It is a ran down motel. Expedia should be ashamed of themselves for booking people at this motel. I will never use Expedia to book a hotel ever again. This motel was over priced for the condition it is in. Expedia overbooked at this motel. My experience with this booking was horrible

    It was very close to the boardwalk. It was a old small building. Room was small but staff was friendly and the stay waa nice. I would stay agian. For the price and location it was good. Better than some of the more expensive hotels nearby

    This was the WORST place we have ever stayed , they had roaches climbing on walls and under beds , the sheets look like someone has smoked in them and ashed in them also have tons of stains ! It’s being falsely advertised as OYÓ Hotel and it’s really just Lancer Motel/apartment complex . There is a gas station right next door where we witnessed some bizarre things also homeless people livin right around the corner. This is not what it’s being advertised at all, also they will try to double charge you!

    We did not feel safe. The door did not sit flush with the frame, so we could see could see outside while it was shut. The floor still had trash & dirt on it. Big hole in the bathroom wall. You had to stand on a broken chair to reach the air conditioner. Just gross!

    Wonderful location!!! Beds hard as a block of wood. Bugs in the room and doors, walls and handles filthy! But you can walk to beach, restaurants and attractions from there.

    Didn’t even get to stay because they didn’t have the proper name. It’s the lancer by OYO. Looked very run down. Couldn’t get ahold of anyone when I called the number provided to cancel reservation. Looks nothing like the picture as well

    The photos used for advertising are false. The room is no where near in the condition it shows. Room, bathroom, furniture, etc. There were people sitting in front of the property where you check in whom I thought were “users”. Turns out they were the receptionists from whom I received my keys. In my stay, I encountered roaches inside the room and water bugs directly outside of the room. I am terrified of water bugs. The room has stains of blood throughout the floor. Thankfully I only had to rest my head there for a few hours. I slept with my clothes and socks on. The space was just dirty. I would’ve never stood in a place like this. I should’ve read the reviews, as I hope someone reads this one. I solely went by the pics being that I needed it for a few hours. NEVER AGAIN!!

    The hotel was in a great area, near to most food outlet, The room was not in very good shape, the door had a big crack in it where you could look out side, did not feel very safe because of the crack, The furniture was very very old, no soap in the bathroom, no stoper for the tub or sink

    Floor had food, a hanger and earringbon floor but staff did come sweep but didnt look like mopped floor (it was hardwood). The price did not match the quality of room. Needs paint and some TLC. Even smelt old and run down. Staff for check in was nice and let Expedia refund us.

    I liked the fact the people at customer service was very friendly. They treated me like a real person and not just money. Check out was so easy i cleaned the room up before i left so that the people didn't have to do a whole lot.. I will be going back. Thank you so much

    Walked into room. Was totally disgusting. Beds nasty. Hair all over bathroom. Towels looked as they have never been washed. Burn marks from leaving stuff lay on night stand.

    There was nothing to like about this property. The pictures do not represent the room. It was disgusting!!! Absolutely filthy!!! There were no provided garbages in the room, we had to make our own. The walls were nasty, the furniture looked like it had never been cleaned. Towels came back dirty. There was stuff in the ceilings. It was just absolutely horrible and gross!!! Don’t stay there!!
