Ocean Creek Resort

The property at Ocean Creek was maintained beautifully with their landscaping and outside amenities, such as the pools and access to the beach. As far as the individual condo, it was nice and clean, but the owner needs to make sure the kitchen is better stocked as far as dish detergent, paper towels, hand and dish towels, and more dishes to accommodate families during their stay. These are the basic items needed when checking into a unit that provides a kitchen. I would definitely return, but would like not to have to make a trip to the Dollar Tree to get these needed items for the kitchen.

The advertising to Ocean Creek is misleading. The 1 bedroom villa we had was in need of repairs. The A/C unit woukd not get above 75°. The couch was old and worn out as well as the comforter on the bed. The room key stopped working twice and it was not near my phone. Parking is not free its $10 per night. There is a $250 deposit hold or you can pay a one time fee of $40 non refundable our room wasn't ready until 4:15 pm. Checkout is at 10:00 a.m. The TV had a very bad delay. It wasn't the greatest experience. The beach is about a 5 - 10 min. Walk. The beach area was beautiful that is the only plus. I wouldn't recommend and don't plan on ever staying here again.

The best studio unit I've ever stayed in. If I could have this particular unit every time I came to Myrtle Beach, SC that would be perfect. It was such a magical and short walk to the beach. Everyone in the complex was friendly and helpful.

My family and I had an amazing stay! We loved being able to walk down to the beach. The beach was beautiful. The property had many pools, including an indoor one as well. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The area had tons to do! There was no game room, it was just a work out room. We will definitely be back for a longer stay next time!

This place is amazing!! The property is huge and very peaceful! The villa was clean and spacious. It was just a short walk to the beach, which was beautiful!! Breakfast was fairly priced and really good! The staff was very friendly and helpful! The only thing I would say is to be sure to bring bottled water, because I couldn’t find any there and had to DoorDash some, but that’s on me for not planning ahead lol I highly recommend this place!!

I loved that there was multiple pools throughout the resort and the breakfast was all you can eat for $15 and it was pretty good! I loved that we were walking distance from the beach and they have a tram that gives you a ride to the beach!! It was such and easy process and the staff was very helpful and kind we will definitely be returning!

Everyone at the front desk was really nice! The room was very outdated. Clean-ish but outdated. I would definitely stay again if the rooms were updated a little bit.

My son cut his hand rolling over on the pull out couch. It was old and stained. When we checked in. The sheets left weren't even folded. And did not fit the bed.

The staff were very friendly and attentive. There was a major problem with Carpenter Bee's outside of my room, and the Cable WiFi went out 2 of my 3 days. They were punctual both days restoring the cable and Wi-Fi, but I did have to dodge bee's my entire stay which was a major bummer because it was my anniversary.

The ac and heat worked fine. Villa was clean as expected.

The room was very outdates and not properly cleaned. I found dust on the nightstands, floors not vacuumed and stains on the table. I was super disappointed in the room. On another note, the staff was friendly, and I appreciated the security gate they had.

Such a very beautiful view and easy access to shops and restaurants. The staff were amazing allowed prior access to the room to be decorated for my daughter’s 16th birthday. The fitness center was extremely small with only about 3 pieces of equipment and one was down. The beds were past their prime very lumpy and noisy as were the pillows.

I loved the screened in balcony. I loved the quick walk to the beach. I didn't like that the ad said ocean view and I didn't get it. The were no good bathing products. The water pressure was super bad. Plus, the tub kept filling up with water when showering.

My first stay here was in July and we had a one bedroom lodge villa, it was wonderful and clean. I booked a two bedroom lodge villa for a weekend in September, and not only was the room they gave us almost impossible to find, when we did arrive it was so dirty- the floors and carpets looked like they haven't been cleaned at all, trash on the floor, dirty dishes in the dishwasher, the stove didn't work well, the vent fan above the stove didn't work at all, just awful. We switch rooms the next day, which was exhausting to do, packing and repacking everything. The new room was cleaner, but the twin beds they have in these rooms are hard and uncomfortable. Overall very disappointed and upset and did not get to enjoy my vacation.

I have stayed at this resort several times over the past 10 to 15 years and each time it was a great experience. Clean and the staff was very friendly. That’s the reason I selected this location for this trip. The property outside looks okay but the room was a mess. There were large roaches all over the place (see photo). The toilet seat was broken (see photo),the doors to the patio would not securely lock and the door to the master bedroom was damaged (see photo). I informed the front desk and they said they would notify maintenance. They never came to check it.

Ocean creek is in a park-like setting and is quiet, family-friendly, many pools, and shopping nearby. It has been around for a while and some of the units need to be upgraded and/or better maintained.

I was weary of all the bad reviews of this property… They were mostly about “bugs” and bad towels in the bathrooms. I’m from the south so I’m aware of what Palmetto bugs are - recommend you don’t stay here if they’re a problem for you - it’s to be expected. The towels did suck - we brought our own from home - not an issue. The problem I had was the fact we were told we’d get a QUEEN size bed for the bedroom and it was a FULL size bed. Mind you - we recently upgraded to a king bed and had a queen for 3 years prior. I called the front desk - lady did not say her name. I asked about the bed and if we were put into the wrong room - she says “it’s a queen bed” and I assured her it was not and it was too small to even be a queen. I asked if there was another room available with a queen bed. She just sat there silently - I said hello? She said “it’s a queen bed” so I ended the call. I even took a photo and measurements of the bed because I thought maybe I was crazy, but I wasn’t. We will not be back, mostly because the front desk rep tried to gaslight me into thinking I was crazy for knowing we didn’t get the queen bed as promised in the listing. The other staff (at check in/out) were super friendly.

Over all, not the best experience. Walked into the lobby and encountered several guest who were angry and mad at the rooms not being clean and not giving people the rooms they booked. The resort overbooked and we’re splitting up families into different hotels. We got our room and discovered a roach on the floor when we walked in. Dried poop on the side of the toilet, broken tile, hair in the bed pillow. It was very disappointing. This used to be our go to place. We love the pools and the secluded atmosphere. The beach access is great, not a lot of people. But the rooms, please do better.

When I realized what they did the receptionist argued with me that we booked a 2 bedroom condo. After a half hour of arguing with her she gave me a refund. The floors in the condo were so dirty. Sand dirt everywhere. Never again will we stay at this place and I hope this review deters others from staying.

The linens in the bath room were folded and displayed in a decorative manner and when I unfolded them for use I found that they were dirty. The toilet wobbled badly when we sat on it. Then we were attempted to leave our room the screen door was jammed and we had to call for maintenance to come fix it. I tried to call the front desk to report these issues and found that the phone in the room did not work. I called from my cell phone and reported all these issues and they said they would send maintenance to fix the door and that I was welcome to go to the front desk for new linens. If they were ok with using soiled linens, what else wasn’t cleaned properly? And the phone and door issues are definitely safety concerns. Overall a very disappointing stay for $361

The linens in the bath room were folded and displayed in a decorative manner and when I unfolded them for use I found that they were dirty. The toilet wobbled badly when we sat on it. Then we were attempted to leave our room the screen door was jammed and we had to call for maintenance to come fix it. I tried to call the front desk to report these issues and found that the phone in the room did not work. Upon arrival, opening the door, the first thing I noticed was a large cockroach crawling around the hall. Not exactly a great first impression. It eventually climbed up the couch I was sitting on and onto me. I did remove it with a small towel and threw it outside.

Beautiful views, and landscape. Well decorated and Spacious rooms. Easy access to ocean. Check in clerk was not friendly and did not give detailed instructions and information as needed. Also had trouble reaching front desk and house keeping for towels and household items.

The pool was great. The landscaping/trees are very nice. Bring paper towels, body wash, shampoo, laundry detergent. They provide powder for dish washer/bags for trash can/toilet paper, towels, wash cloths, one little soap.

Trip was amazing; definitely my go to place when I go to beach moving forward . Thanks for great stay! Staff was 10/10 also .

Our villa in Lodge III West was infested with cockroaches of all sizes. From water bugs to German cockroaches, these bugs were in every room (living room, both bathrooms, the kitchen and bedrooms). While we watched tv a roach actually crawled onto one of my grandkids. It was just gross!!! We were unable to cook and eat in this room.

Everything was good. The only issue was the hall bathroom door wouldn't close and the front office didn't send maintenance to repair it.

This could have been a 5 star rating but on arrival the a/c in our room was not working (temp outside was 95 degrees) We called every dept/extension we could until someone answered the phone. Within 20 minutes maintenance was there and fixed the problem. Dealing with this lost us 90 minutes on an already tight schedule. The ups for this were good though - we were across the street from Barefoot Landing. We were attending a concert so it was easy in & out and back to our condo. Will absolutely consider it again for other events. The unit was clean and comfortable. Building was quiet. The television situation was a challenge but we managed. The price was very reasonable considering the local hotel rates. Overall a great first visit except for the little glitch. I can't comment on the amenities as we did not use them. We will however go back to do just that.

The property is well maintained. My villa was homey and nice. It was a walk to get to the ocean and could not see it from the villa. I probably would not stay there again because of it. They do have golf carts that pick you up to take you to the beach, if you catch it at the right time.

We booked 2 rooms, upon check in we were told no dogs no where did it say that when I booked. Tried to cancel the one room because it was for my dad and his dog so we were stuck with both rooms. The studio room was filthy, had a terrible odor, no bars of soap, dirty sheets and the drawers to dresser broken. Also cockaroaches all over property. Now the two bedroom villa was beautiful, AC worked, well maintained. However cockroaches were an issue not just outside but inside as well. We have stayed here multiple times and this is the first terrible experience. Spoke with front desk and they did nothing about our experience because we booked through a third party.

Wasn’t far from the beach. Like 5 mins walking distance.

Our air conditioner wasn’t working and we had to open the doors for air which caused bugs to fly in. They only offered us $120 back and we paid $1,240 plus and additional $90 for parking.

There were bed bugs in the room.

It’s not a bad place. But we immediately noticed popcorn French fries on the floor in the living room/ bedroom. Other than that it was great. But I did notice a $95 charge besides what I already paid on hotels.com I will certainly despute this charge and am reporting this to ocean creek management.

I was really disappointed because I had requested an ocean front room and that’s not what they had me registered for.☹️

Convenient, location I did not like that I couldn't stay longer

It was convenient to shops restaurants and easy walking to and from the beach and pools. Staff was super friendly. Look forward to going back!!

Gated Resort a plus, the one bedroom was spacious with screened in balcony, shuttle to the beach was great, beach side bar, walking distance to Broadway at the Beach.

Very outdated, uncomfortable bedding, shower felt and sounded like it was going to fall through. Room very clean,safe area , quiet.

Tthe accessability to the ocean, the ammenities and screened in patio, the attraction of Barefoot Landing across the street.

Good place to stay, room was mostly clean but there were some roaches...small ones.

WATER BUGS AND ROACHES!!! Outdated and old furniture. Raggedy hallway carpet. Rust in bathroom sinks and tubs. Torn wallpaper. Torn screens and rusted furniture on the balcony. Misrepresentation about closeness to the ocean. Probably a really nice facility about 20 years ago. And did I Mention…WATER BUGS AND ROACHES!!!

I travel to MB every other week for work. I stayed at Ocean Creek twice. Great because the grounds are oceanfront. The first time I had to switch condos because the condo smelled horrible and was furnished circa 1975. The second stay was better but still only mediocre. The kitchen only had “mismatched” plates and silverware for four. Bathroom had other people’s hair still on the floor.

Love the property; clean, quiet, convenient to shopping and dining.

The condo did not look like the pictures. It was clean but just average. The beds were hard. The place could use updates. The pool was dirty. Also the ad said there were 7 pools some inside and others outside. That was not the case. They were all spread out and several we did not have access to. We had to drive to the towers just to get beach access.

Loved the stay. The room was spacious and made us not be all on top of each other like in a regular hotel room. A few of the room amenities were a little outdated but they served their purpose. The resort amenities were excellent, as well as the staff onsite that we had contact with.

The resort was beautiful and convenient to all the shopping areas. I really enjoyed that they’re swimming pools in each villa and the beach was only a few steps away!

The unit was clean however it was very dated... And some of the appliances were difficult to use; the refrigerator door was stucked and really had tyo use force to open as well as the dishwasher.

The stay was awesome just wish the bed had been bigger and more comfortable

I left an item in room 2123 on Sunday 5/21 and called back and left a message with housekeeping and have not received a call back stating they have the item or not. I also paid what I thought for an ocean front room and did not get that.

My husband & I returned from breakfast at 10 and our key cards didn’t work. We had been checked out already when check out was at 11.

This had to be the worst stay that iv ever had. Once we checked into the girl the first room they assigned was dirty, the bed wasnt made, dirty towels in the bathroom so we went back up front and they assigned a new room this run was cleaner however later we saw several roaches in the room. We went back to front and they told us there was nothing they could do about it and if we wanted a refund we had to contact the travel agent. They were very unaccomidating because of their lackbof cleaniness. Ib works never stay here again nor recommend to anyone. A waste of money.

It was a quiet secluded area close to the ocean beach and pools. The service at the front desk was a bit frustrating as no one was there and we didn’t receive very much information about the property.

The property was off in a safe location. You have security gate to enter which i absolutely love. Also its has nice areas to grill or enter into the pool. The areas atmosphere is amazing an pleseant and you can a family stroll or gold cart ride around the villas. HOWEVER, when we got settled in i got up around 4am to use the rest room when i looked over to my left there were roaches on the dresser. I got my husband up and he turned on the lights and they were EVERYWHERE in bathroom, down the hallway, under the kitchen table etc. I packed up valled the front desk and we were out before 6am. I sent pictures immediately via email and left messages for the manager to call which she never did but we got a refund through iur booking agency. Beware the roaches came out at night.

I had some issues during my stay. My tv did not work, i reported it and they could not fix it, nor did they offer to move me into another room. My tub was not clean, my dishes were not clean. This time around was Not good and ive left my name and number and the manager has NOT called me yet!

I was having a hard time getting my keys to work for my room. The front desk agent made me 4 keys before I had to request for her to move me to a new room. This was Christmas Eve and due to this hold up I wasn't able to get to any stores before they closed. This was a disappointment for me and my family to be in the cold for 45 minutes. The room was clean but not updated and my main bedroom door wouldn't close and both bathrooms had issues with the toilet and the hallway bathroom from the room jammed. My family was lucky to find one restaurant still taking orders. Bad start to my vacation.
