First off this place should be CONDEMNED!!!Rooms SHOULD NOT be booked here. This La Quinta was a complete disappointment!! This place is completely JANKY, this place was formerly a DAYS INN it’s dirty and the whole building has mold from the outside of the building to the ceilings and the carpet. This is a LOW BUDGET motel. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. If you have a family that you care about don’t book this place. Everything was just a NASTY from the roaches I seen by the fireplace that all went to the kitchen.I even seen a worm in my room. it was just DISGUSTING all around. Hallways smell like weed and cigarettes, it has drug addicts and prostitues coming in and out this place. They have people who actually live here on the lower levels. The side doors don’t lock so anyone can come in build from side doors that should be secured, the elevator didn’t have any working lights. The pool needs to be resurfaced and cleaned out. Who ever is in charge of the up keep of this place is Horrible!! I didn’t see any house keepers. The pictures shown is A.I. don’t be fooled. The a.c don’t work in the lobby and the rooms . I couldn’t wait to check out

If you can get through the smell of marijuana and people yelling down the hallway, pounding on doors from midnight until 1 AM, you will find yourself in a room that was in disrepair. There were no plug-ins in the bathroom, half the lighting worked, there were stains on the main door and headboards of the beds, a broken chair at the desk, and water damage on the wall by the main window. The positive is that even though the beds were small, they were comfortable, and there was a nice 55-inch TV. Also, the pool area was very clean and nice. We will never stay there again.

I booked because of the reviews and also never having ANY problem with La Quinta. I stayed ONE night and didn’t even want to stay that. The outside of the building is disappointing and the inside was worse. Bed was hard a rock, floors were dirty along with the shower and the chair was FILTHY. The breakfast just consisted of waffles and eggs. If it had not been for me needing to rest I’d have left and gotten my refund. Do not stay here

Once I finally got into the room, it appeared dirty to the point where I had to go out and purchase new sheets from Walmart myself. On the first day, the water was not working properly and I had to take a cold shower. The following day, I finally found someone at the front desk who informed us that the sink faucet had to be left running for about 15 minutes before the water would even become lukewarm because the hot water was not functioning correctly. Due to limited funds and not having many options, I stayed, but ultimately decided to leave early because I had enough. Overall, this was the worst hotel stay I have ever experienced.

Disappointing
- 1/5
The hotel wasn’t up to date with amenities and was filled with a lot of weekly families and a lot of marijuiana and cigarettes smoking insides and outside of the hotel. Family were loud and kids running in the hallways. All the towels were dirty liked they’ve been used, water presser was horrible, elevator stopped working one day, it was a total disaster. Only great thing about this hotel was the front desk lady, and Phyllis.
- 1/5
The lady at the front desk was very rude. The elevator was very janky. Our sink was broken. I asked them twice to fix it and they didn’t so it flooded and ruined my clothes. So we left early. No one will give me my money back did the night we didn’t use or compensate me for the clothes that have been ruined.
- 2/5
Walls in the room were dirty. The shower water does not get hot. The first night we had thin pool towels instead of regular shower towels.
- 5/5
A very nice staff No complaints
- 3/5
The room 505/beds were clean. There was plenty of hot water. The air worked fine. The room phone didn’t work. The pool area was out of order. The safety locks in the room were missing. I put the office chair in the door way. It had squeaky wheels and I would be able to hear someone come in. The barn door wouldn’t close all the way to the bathroom. The plaster was peeling from the ceiling in the bathroom. The shower caddy was missing from the wall. There were 2 bars of dove soap but no shampoo conditioner or lotion. The corner of the shower pan was broken. The tissue box and tissues in it were wet and stuck to the container. There was wiring in the hallway ceiling that was blackened from too much plugged into it. It was fine to sleep and shower. If my husband came with he would have asked for a different room.
- 2/5
Room was overall clean, once they were able to “find a room for us” that we had a reservation made for over a month for. No towels or hair dryer in bathroom, tissues left on floor by bed, no one at front desk. Heard slamming doors and motorcycles all night long
- 2/5
The entire hotel smelled like Marijuana, people smoking it inside and outside. The smell came into our room. Our room door was left unlocked and opened by cleaning staff. The door had to be slammed too get it to close. Poor work on the remolding. Just paint slapped over problem.

Excellent :)

Pool Area was closed. Our room had no hot water. Someone pooped in the parking lot. The “conjoined” door did not lock properly. Less than pleased with this hotel.

Parking was easy. Air conditioning in the room and heat in the room was great. Shower pressure and hot water was not what I am used to. No coffee offered in the lobby is something that I'm used to and did not get. Staff was fabulous you could not get a better staff even at a five star. It was just that the amenities are not what I am used to. I could not even use the TV in my room because it is a Google TV and not a TV that has access unless you have in a Google account therefore there was no television access. This is huge this is something they need to fix why do we not just have regular TV and access to their cable or Wi-Fi to be able to watch television. When I go to sleep I like to go to sleep with the late night news or the television on. I had no television the entire state that is my major major complaint
- 2/5
The hotel looks like it’s in the middle of a remodel process, but still needs to be updated. The smoke alarm was missing in my room. It looks like the bathroom was renovated, but the barn door was already coming loose. There was plenty of parking, but there were cobwebs in the hallway.
- 1/5
8mins away from another La Quinta. The comparison is like Jekyll and Hyde. To start, all pet rooms are on one floor. Also is seems to be the same floor everyone smokes on as per cleaning staff. There are full time residents there’s so that’s also a red flag. The elevator offers doors that do not fully close with broken tiles as you enter. The main lobby also smell like trash as you enter. The pet floor smells worse. The rear of the first floor has flooded carpet floors like they drained a pool. Ironic that their pool was empty. There’s a random guy that walks the hallways blasting music . My room on the third floor had peeling ceilings, leaking fridge with water everywhere, and BLACK MOLD!!! In NYC that place would be shut down on that alone. Their photos are greatly filtered. Try calling the hotel … the number is out of service. I was advised that because the WiFi is public many people get hacked .the shower handle was installed wrong so hot is cold ect. Who ever painted the exterior decided to splatter paint on all windows everywhere. This was by the staff. Do not stay here

Though the room was clean, the common areas (inside and out) were littered and unkept and smelled like weed. The staff was friendly and polite but the hotel was just in poor condition. I appreciated the great price through Hotels.com but next time I’m in Myrtle Beach I will spend more for a better place to sleep. JW

Was unable to contact the front desk to advise of late check in - I was given an email address to contact a manager and I never received a response. When we checked in the front desk stated the phones were out because someone tripped over the wires and they ripped out the wall. Tried for 2 days! I was unhappy and disappointed with everyone passing the buck and was not able to help.
- 1/5
Renovation work is terrible. Bed frame is metal that makes a loud sound when you bang into it. Bed and chair creek, there was a nasty ceiling fan in the room, dont know why its there, there was no bathmat, there was only one hand towel, there was no transh can in the bathroom, the mirror has a big chip above, the toilet paper holder is not properly placed, and hard to reach, there are three toiletries holder in the shower, but only one was replaced, two were removed, there was no shelf to put your razor or face wash, there was a note about being green that they will only clean or replace towels and linnens after three days, unless you asked. On the second day when we returned to the hotel, I stopped by the front desk to ask for towels, the receptionist said she run out of towels and no there was nothing to give and she insisted I told them not to clean my room. I did not. There was no hair dryer. For the breakfast, the scrambled egg was ice cold, there was no flame or sturno, very limited choice. We were in room 415 where the fire alarm on the wall. The glass to the fire alarm was broken, is that by the code? I was not happy when there was no towel,as the receptionist was rude and not even apologetic that there was no towels, she said why did I not moved to a different hotel. She was not happy that I booked through Expdidia, . I asked who the owner, Patrick she said but he is busy and can not talk to you
- 4/5
Room was great. I just didnt like how there were no type of shelves in the shower to hold my items. Looked like there used to be something but it was ripped out the wall. Other than that the room was great. Location is great, its close to broadway and the beach.

Overall the building needs major renovations. The elevator had broken tiles inside that we've tripped on countless times. The room also needs renovations due to holes in the room walls and the ceiling paint ripping. The free breakfast also needs more options when it comes to the food. Also there was a Days Inn carpet that suggests that what it used to be. staff was very friendly and very helpful when there was an issue or if we needed something!

Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. There was no bar soap holder in shower. The light on the desk was missing the lightbulb. There was no toilet holder in the bathroom. The continental breakfast didn’t have options for people who don’t eat pork or chicken. Should offer turkey bacon or turkey sausage. The front desk staff was never available to answer the telephone when trying to call front desk from room. Closet had no hangers. There was no ice bucket in the room.

And the most disappointing thing was the pool and hot tube was not working. This is one of the main reasons that I booked this hotel. To use the pool and relax by the pool side.. No one was permit in the pool area. Overall I enjoyed the room, things happen but I was very disappointed by the pool situation. I would stay again.

The room was run down with a ton of issues and could have been cleaner. The sink faucet literally fell off. The mirror blocked the outlet. The shower never got hot and when we asked, they said to run the sink for a while then try it again. It was lukewarm that way. The bathroom door stuck. The paint was a hot mess. There was urine on the toilet seat. The best I can say about it was there was no bugs.

Our vacation was amazing, this hotel allowed us to rest well in a quiet comfortable environment including at nice area as far as location!
- 4.5/5
Superb
- 2/5
We were on the 4th floor. It was mostly quiet. The hallway was very dark which made it creepy. The elevator was beat up and reminded us of a service elevator. Our room door did not close properly. It needed to be forced to close, which was very loud. The water in the shower was lukewarm at best. Our microwave was unplugged and shoved on a shelf under the counter. The plug was snaked up from behind the counter. One problem - the cord was not long enough to plug into the outlet. It was at least 6” short. The lamp on the desk near the mirror was unplugged and didn’t even have a bulb in it. The breakfast was horrendous - cold fake scrambled eggs, white toast, a few yogurts and a waffle maker with a super long line. No water. The pool and hot tub were empty - no water. The entire pool area was closed. So, the reviews we read were accurate. On the bright side, the rate was significantly cheaper than anything else in the area (and rightly so). And the location was good for what we were visiting to do. So that was a plus.
- 2/5
The “closet” had no bar. No where to hang a dress or your suit. Beds were extremely cheap and not comfortable. Mold all over the air vent Breakfast… can you call it that? Waffles and cereal is all that is worthwhile. The eggs are instant with no hot sauce or ketchup. There was some yogurt but that’s about it. Very disappointing.

Floors are cracked. Seemed very in disrepair Staff was courteous and refunded. But I was charged again the following morning.

- 1/5
This place is HORRIBLE! Upon checking I was told elevator was broke no rooms on first floor was put in room on second floor couldn’t get in room and the room beside had dogs barking and scratching on door. The lady told me she would refund me because she was sold out and couldn’t move me now they refuse to refund me my money! I will NEVER book here again!!
- 1/5
That hotel was a mess . They didn’t have lights on the 3rd floor hallway . It was wires on the floor . Checked out an hour later that’s a safety issue . When I reached out to Expedia about it . They called the hotel . The manager watched the phone ring and didn’t answer. Again a damn mess. Ended up going to a better hotel down the street .
- 5/5
room was clean but the room appeared to be in the midst of renovation.
- 2/5
Ask for a low floor. When the elevator was working, it still felt like it was going to fail at any moment. If you're paranoid, find another hotel as most of the door locks appear drilled out, and my room had obviously been forced upon and not fully repaired. At least the front desk cheerfully supplied batteries for the remote when asked.
- 1/5
the room stunk. AND they said they would refund me my money and they didn't. ( i didn't stay there)
- 3/5
Cons: hotel looks like it started a renovation and then ran out of labor, time and money to finish. General maintenance is needed everywhere (paint, broken pictures, uneven cabinets, missing smoke detector, light switches not working etc). Breakfast was lackluster. Cereal, yogurt and waffles were fine but “hot” breakfast was not hot or good. Biggest issue was one elevator out of service and the active one seems like it’s about to break (buzzer going off, slow to open and close, etc)
- 3/5
There was a hole in the wall in the bathroom and the carpet was wet but Ice maker was soaking wet

Parking lot in the morning has a lot of people exiting rooms and waiting for transportation to another site. Homeless in the stair well.
- 1.5/5
Dead ants on the bathroom countertop. Shower doors wouldn’t stay closed, Extremely slow elevator that had an alarm buzzing. Oddly closed fire doors between the lobby and elevator access. Not like other locations we’ve stayed at.
- 3/5
Staff was friendly, parking was good. Hotel looks run down, cosmetic repairs have been made but no renovations. Elevator was getting stuck so we had to use stairs multiple times. Beds were comfortable other than you can hear the metal frame when you rolled over. Seems like a place making miner repairs in order to profit more money

The first night of our stay we returned to the hotel to find police cars and a woman being detained and the police searching a vehicle parked in the lot. Homeless people were at the edge of the parking lot with a pile of their belongings...Really didn't feel that safe. Front desk worker was very pleasant and welcoming each time we left and entered the hotel.Room was pretty clean.Bed was absolutely pathetic.. was on a squeaking metal frame and felt like it was going to give way at any moment.

The rooms were in very bad condition, they smelled of cigarette smoke, fixtures were either missing or broken. It was a struggle to get clean towels and wash cloths. We were there a week and sheets were never changed. Rust all over the base for the bed. Came back one night had no water in the shower at all and no hot water in the sink. Went to the desk and after checking 3 different rooms found one with hot water and we moved to it. We have stayed in La Quinta Inns before but never one that was in this condition of disrepair. I don't like giving bad reviews but felt compelled to inform visitors of the condition of this motel. I was surprised that it was a choice on Expedia.

We were met with racism & negative energy. The lady even ran off calling the police saying that she was scared after coming from behind the desk & getting in my face. I asked if she got in my face to do something. Crazy thing is that I am a super nice person who works in hotel reservations. She refuses to respond to Expedia's waiver request so that I can get my refund for 8 days that I was not able to stay at hotel. She canceled my reservation.

Having to change rooms due to mold on the walls, the smell of mildew and the tv not working was not really what I was expecting. They moved us to another room on a different floor and the employee did not seem surprised when I asked to move rooms for the issues I had. They new room was cleaner did not smell but the tv did not have a remote to be able to use it. Was too tired from being wet to address this concern again with the employee at the front desk. Will not stay at this location again.

Random men were knocking on my door after 12am while I was with my child. Not safe at all. Tv didn’t work, they acted like it was the remote I had to ask about it multiple times the next day they changed the entire tv. Sheets and blankets had blood stains everywhere. When I contacted Expedia about the issue even they couldn’t get in contact with who ever is in charge.

Upon walking into the place the front desk person was very nice. Seen her through out the week in my travels. First you get what you pay for, even if that. Be careful at night in the parking lot. Prostitution and junkies love this place. The hotel is run down and in desperate need of repairs and general maintenance. Stuff broke all throughout the property. Such as big one.. cameras!! Burnt wiring, broken smoke detectors, flooring in areas, burnt bed sheets, main area bathroom no place to dry hands, ceiling missing tiles and water damaged. Elevator missing screws and parts, and floor tiles missing/broken. My room. Looked like there was a break in at one point. The door had evidence that someone tried to kick it in. The light switch plate was not installed properly. Looked like big holes were patched over poorly. Bad and missing caulking in bathroom. Chipped glass mirror and hung crooked, shower valve did not work properly, mold and who knows what on ceiling, paining job was done by a 2 year old, drain clogged every time, toilet hardly flushed, bed made I big metal noises, mattress was hard. I could on for ever! If you needed extra towels you can’t ask the front desk you have to hunt down cleaning staff who don’t speak English. But you can enjoy the pool, on Saturday nights they have gangster mic night by the pool. Seriously a gangster party. Was impressed by the prostitutes pretty much not having clothes on running around were nice to my girlfriend. I could go on for days.

Upon walking into the place the front desk person was very nice. Seen her through out the week in my travels. First you get what you pay for, even if that. Be careful at night in the parking lot. Below are just some of the issues I encountered, all documented with attached photos: 1. Mold and Water Damage – Multiple areas of the ceiling and walls show visible water damage, peeling paint, and signs of mold, creating significant health and safety concerns. 2. Dirty and Damaged Fixtures – The air vents were covered in dirt and debris, several wall plates were loose or missing, and the ceiling showed noticeable cracks. 3. Unsanitary Furniture and Bedding – The chair was heavily stained, the lamp shades had watermarks and burn marks, the curtains were visibly dirty, and there were spots on the bedding that raised serious hygiene concerns. 4. Evidence of Neglect – There were signs of mold near the desk and other furniture, cracks and peeling around the walls, and overall poor maintenance throughout the room. This experience was far below the standards I expect from La Quinta. Beyond being unpleasant, the conditions posed potential health risks and made my stay extremely uncomfortable.

Was able to check in online but then had to still check in inside so that is a waste of time. Rooms look remodeled or fairly new but they definitely cut corners. There were no outlets in the bathroom. The pool was out of order. The ceiling in the gym was falling apart. Breakfast was very disappointing with very few options and nothing but coffee to drink.

This place is a shambles and in my opinion it is unsafe. Locks are broken and even safety latches are broken off. You do not want to stay here.

Just expect what you pay for when coming here. we decided to stay here for our baby’s first birthday and didn’t want to go all out so we would have more money for activities. The room itself was clean, it wasn’t nothing extravagant but it wasn’t the worst either. not sure if all the rooms only have showers but if so i recommend bringing a baby tub unless you wanna stand in the shower to bathe your toddler. Our TV didn’t work for the first 2 nights and they kept saying maintenance would come fix it but we had to stay on top of them and even then we couldn’t get anyone up there until our third day which was our last night before we were supposed to leave. Only got to get in the pool once because they said someone peed in it but they took 2 days to get it back open which was a bummer because wanted a pool for our son because he absolutely loves water and once again we came for him not ourselves so we were trying to only do activities he was involved in. We ended up having to buy a day pass at another hotel just to swim. While our son loved the beach, a one year old can’t really enjoy swimming in the ocean. Like i said you get what you paid for. We still had to end up coming out of pocket to stay an extra night so we could actually enjoy everything that the hotel was supposed to have. We did pay for a tv and didn’t have it until the third night. Paid for pool amenities only to be able to swim once. Front desk lady was nice but not helpful. Wasn’t very forgiving or helpful.

Had to share a double-size bed because they have no bigger beds. Kept waking up because it was so hot in the room, no central AC, kept going to the lobby to stay cool. The second day the pool was closed for the day because visitors decided to go pee in the pool rather than use the restroom inside the lobby. Waited in line for 20 minutes, at 10am and being next to make waffles, was told the waffle makers stops working exactly at 10. We had to eat breakfast elsewhere, an added expense that could've been avoided if it was communicated to us during check-in and the hotel could've displayed a sign. I would not recommend and will not be staying at this hotel ever again. BTW, the front desk lady was nice.

The breakfast was not stocked hardly at all Our bathroom door is the room was broken and would not close. Overall, for the price of close to 200 a night, we were very disappointed. The staff does not care and that is evident. I don't know. The 200 per night was a rip off. I would like some of that back if anyone that can do this, can help.

This hotel was not cleaned well. The HVAC system didn’t work well!! My room was freezing, so turned up a little. By early am my room was like a swamp! Water actually all over the floor (condensation). Phones didn’t work and they didn’t answer phone at desk. When I said something they acted like this is normal.

I have stayed at these before when traveling with a pet and they have been very clean. This was horrible and even though non refundable there was no way I was going to sleep there. Bugs and garbage in stairwell. Blood and dirt spots on wall. Doors propped open with towels. This hotel needs shut down.

The room is nice and clean. I was missing an ice bucket ask for one and didn't receive it. The water in the sink went down very slow.

Honestly, if you're with Family/kids. Spend the extra money and book a different hotel. You might be better off sleeping in the car. Hotel looks decent on the outside but the rooms are terrible. We were on the 1st floor, walked in the room to dirty floors and bugs in the room. We also had to ask for towels, because they didn't put any face towels in the bathroom. BATHROOM WAS HORRIBLE!!! WOW!! You know its bad when you have to lay down towels on the floor and bath tub just to be able to use it. This is what happens when you try to save a little money. This is what you get. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. I couldn't upload all my pictures because most of them exceeded the MB size limt. I guess they dont want you to show clear pictures.

I like the eco-friendliness of the room, but I sanitized my room with Clorox wipes, and they were dirty. The bottom of the toilet had urine around it.

Also, we paid extra for a king bed room and was given a room with 2 queen beds.

As soon as you enter the elevator and head to the rooms, you’re hit with a strong smoke/weed smell, which really set the tone. The rooms look newly updated at first glance, but there are obvious issues: Broken flooring Ripped baseboards An old, noisy AC unit No fans or actual doors in the bathroom No proper door locks for the room It feels like this used to be a cheaper hotel that was bought out and only partially renovated under a big brand name. That said, the staff were friendly and helpful, and they did seem to be working hard to keep things clean and organized. The location is decent, though it’s a bit far from restaurants and the beach, and right next to the highway, which adds to the noise. For the price paid, the overall experience just didn’t deliver. Would not stay here again unless major improvements are made.
