Holiday Inn Club Vacations South Beach Resort by IHG

The room was clean and amenities were great. However we were there for one night with a 4 pm check in time. Room was not ready until 530. Front desk did not call me like they said I had to call twice and ask for manager and then suddenly my room was ready. Nice hotel with good location and a lot to do but the check in process was ridiculous for such a nice and expensive place.

The villa felt like home away from home. It wasn’t far from the beach at all and the lazy river was right outside our villa! My husband and kids as well as myself truly enjoyed our stay!! We will definitely be back! There’s absolutely NOTHING to dislike about this place!

Not crowded Too much to type. At check in I was made to feel like a criminal because of some issue the property had with booking. They were very rude and told me I would need to produce a bank statement to “PROVE” I had already paid through Booking. They finally say that it is taken care of and ask for my CC to pay the $115 for incidentals. I later found out they went ahead and ran a second charge without my permission or acknowledgement for an amount even higher then what I had already paid through booking. We only stayed for 2 nights and a lot of that was spent on the phone trying to fix their error. As of now we are home and the $450 is still not back in my account.

They need to improve on information

This is a timeshare property. When you check in they’ll try to get you to go to a presentation. It is a beautiful property but it is across the street and then a bit away from the ocean. It’s also two miles away from the heart of Myrtle Beach, where the boardwalk is. Also, while the room was quiet, it’s very noisy outside due to helicopter tours, the airport and constant music playing by the pools.

The pull out couch in my room was stained. The afternoon supervisor brought a colleague and the two of them made us comfortable. Kudos. The check in clerk had excellent recommendations for local food and shopping. The housekeeping service needs a lot of improvement. We moped the floor with the bathroom mat and had to ask for housekeeping. Would not rate their housekeeping highly. We also had trouble with the TV. Would have liked to have some information in the room about the amenities on the facility. One can't ask enough questions if they don't know what exists. Their property across the road has beach access and a shower. Excellent value for Myrtle Beach.

The pressure to sign up for a timeshare presentation. I politely told them no 3 times. The elevator shook a lot it felt like it would get stuck when going up.

It was an amazing stay. This was my first time staying at Holiday Inn. Nice and clean room. The room was large. Was not expecting the size of the room.

This place would be okay for a family with children. It's more like a resort than a hotel. No restaurant and the marketplace opens late and closes early. AC system in the building is quite old and doesn't function well. There is an extra "resort charge". Lobby functions more like a sales office, probably for their purchase options.

The resort. The other side where they do the 90 minutes and you get gifts. They are scammers and Liars.

The villa layout was very nice. Jennifer at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. As soon as we entered the villa, we could feel the dust. Had to wipe down the headboard, side tables and bedroom tv stand. All were dusty and we could not imagine how the ceiling fans would be if we turned them on. The living room couch and the drapes in the bedroom and living room felt dusty to the touch.

The environment

The fireplace helped with living room heating. The comoliment of kitchenette dishes was sufficient for the time stayed. I did have a couple critical comments. Bei g on the 1st floor I could clearly hear the sales presentation of the other IHG owned property. It made sleeping in, virtually impossoble. So maybe theyre should be some thoughts about soundproofing the doors. The other crtical comment was the difficulty I had getting the tv to show, 'free' programming, such as Pluto or Tubi. I understand the pay to view items available but woth a smart tv you should at least be able to access free streaming content. Thats said, I would stay there again, luvd the location on the south beach.

Everything about this property was great. Plenty of space, full kitchen with dishes a plus, great master shower for 2 ppl. Staff were friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend this one

The room was clean. However, after reporting that the TV didn’t work in the living room we were told they would have maintenance come and look at it. They never came. The jacuzzi had a nice size crack in it that made me scared to use it even though an attempt was made to fix by applying caulking. They also charged an additional $115 separately from the room charge. The staff was very nice.

My only complaint is when I checked in I was to be charged the $32 per night resort fee which didn’t happen so the following day the charged my CC that was on file (which is not the card I wanted to use) however I was ok with it once I confirmed at the front desk that was what the charge was for so no problem But for some reason the system didn’t get the message that I had already been charged and the next day they charged me another $32 and the $115 for incidental & $99 was on hold for over 3 days…I think they should ensure that at check in or out that the resort fee is charged once they confirm the CC you would like to use

The property was perfect for a family getaway, and particularly suitable for large extended families who want to vacation together who can have their own spaces. The grounds were full of amenities for all ages: Volleyball and Basketball courts, pool/lagoon, beach path, and more. Aside from the wonderful room and hotel grounds, the staff are who made my stay as special as it was. My late arrival at 11:30PM meant that hotel security would have help me at the front desk. Great property for kids. Took grandkids 10 and 12 yrs old. They enjoyed 2 Lazy Rivers, 2 outdoor pools and waterslides. No restaurants on location however Walmart supermarket and Walmart Supercenter within 10 - 15 minutes. Stayed in large 2 bedroom, full kitchen with washer and dryer. Stocked kitchen for lunch,and snacks but ate out for breakfast and dinner. Plenty of restaurants and things to do with 5 - 20 minutes. Staff was great! Beac across the street can walk or take shuttle. Basketball court was perfect for our grandson. Loved it would definitely go back again! If you have kids recommend going to the restaurant "Hangout " so much fun and lots to do at that location.

This resort has several pools, lazy river and slides. It is across the street from the beach but has a private clubhouse with pool on the beach and indoor facilities. They provide a shuttle service back to the main resort area. Since it is a HICV resort with timeshare members it is well maintained and serviced by great staff!!!

The room, itself, was magnificent 👌. My reason for the low rating is the following: 1) we were given the wrong room number and key and walked in on other tenants. All we got was, "Oops, we're sorry. We have more than 1 family here this weekend with your last name. 2) we were then given a 4th floor, the highest floor, in a building (Building G), where the elevator was OUT OF SERVICE. All we received from the front desk in explanation was, "We have the part on expedited order. The elevator broke yesterday." We didn’t get a forewarning when given the key to the room. We had to learn this when we actually walked up to the elevator and there was the Out of Order sign. We were very disappointed that there was no forewarning, at least. So, then after we lugged our many bags up 4 flights of stairs, we had 3 days of up and down the stairs. It was just awful and tiring. We couldn't invite our mother to drive up to see us and sit with us in the room because she nor any of our aunts were able to climb the stairs due to their age and health. We really wanted to see our family that was due to drive up and visit us while we were in Myrtle Beach. I went to the front desk at the onset and tried to get a better and accommodating room, to no availability. All we received was, "We are sorry. The part should have been here by now." I asked for a discount of some sort on my room. Of course that was a NO WAY from the staff. Nothing was offered at all to make the very wrong a right. Nothing.

This property was better than I expected it to be. Luke at the front desk was helpful and friendly and gave me a great recommendation for dinner since I had a very late arrival. I definitely recommend this hotel.

The next day I got a call that I had to come back in and finish check in because it wasn't all done that night. Last I called for a late check out (which has on the paper we can request) and was told I called too late and that they only give 3 late checkouts a day and they already had 5. If you are going to have these rules they should be stated in the booking. And if you only allow 3 late checkouts then why did you allow 5, why was my reasoning treated differently.

The room itself was amazing, too - clean, spacious, well-equipped, higher-end finishes, electric fireplace, screened balcony overlooking the pool, plenty of storage, huge bathroom with jacuzzi tub... extraordinary, really! Just sad we were only in the area for two short days, would've liked to go in the (also heated) lazy river and tried out some of the activities. There's even a sm restaurant/ grill at the clubhouse (open til 6pm) that'll deliver to your room! Plus there's onsite shuttles around the large property and to the beach.

I loved the bed - it was very comfortable. The unit was Very spacious. I didn’t like that the tv sound was preset to low so we had a hard time hearing. We were happy to have had our small sound bar and that helped a lot!

After a long day of travel we checked in to find guest bedroom/bathroom was not cleaned properly(dirty used linen and dirty toilet shower) after walking to the desk phone was not working in our room only security around whom was no help. Making us sleep 3 to a bed and 1 on a hard sofa bed. Housekeeping was terrible with follow up management only sent RA and never reached out to us. Hsk management was terrible then basically said we were happy and they spoke to us.. if not for FD manager Angel we would have checked out and made sure to tell everyone we knew not to stay here. He spoke to us and actually listened to our issues and found a solution. Angel and Fd agents Zeke(unsure on speeling) and Sharon were amazing and really a gem to the hotel

After a long day of travel we checked in to find guest bedroom/bathroom was not cleaned properly(dirty used linen and dirty toilet shower) after walking to the desk phone was not working in our room only security around whom was no help. Making us sleep 3 to a bed and 1 on a hard sofa bed. Housekeeping was terrible with follow up management only sent RA and never reached out to us. My family and i loved it!. Lots of space in the 2 bedroom villa and very clean. 4 pools on site with an additional pool and beach club across the street..also with waterslides for the kids. No complaints at all. Will be our place to stay at Myrtle beach from now on

Pool, lazy river, BBQ and slides are awesome! Clean and new large room. The strip is scary, but staying at this resort made our trip perfect.

Do not like the check-in process as they strongly try to get you to attend a meeting where they will explain the Holiday Inn Club Vacation idea to you (basically time share). You don't have to go though, and can just stay here like a hotel. They did call our room once on second morning of our stay and I just firmly told them to please not ask again, we did not want to join the Club Vacations group.

We had a very large unit (2bdrm/2bath), super clean and comfortable!

lazy river filters were so dirty/ stuff floating around and out of them. The place was kind of ols and outdated. smelled like smoke in unit. cleaners left cleaning cloth is unit and zero starter toiletries. no soap,shampoo,etc

Good location with short walk to the beach. Very close to an airport which was very noisy one morning of our stay. Pools were nice and 2 of them were heated.

Outdated but clean. Staff was kinda rude and not overly helpful. Got charged an additional $300 in fees I never did get an explanation for.

This resort was overall excellent!! We took our grandkids with us and there was plenty of room for all 3 to run around and have their own space! The room was very clean, and had a screened in balcony which I loved because it was safe for kids as well as keeping the bugs from you.The poolside bar was great and there was a lazy river, 2 pools and one had water slides and a play area for smaller kids. We will be back!!🙂

Thank you to the staff, to whoever had welcomed me. I really appreciated everything you had done. I liked the fact that i was like home: dining room, bedroom and kitchen and their ustensiles to cook if we would like to. It was more than a remarkable stay. I enjoyed it to the fullest. More people should come and visit because it worth it.

When I walked in the lobby the whole staff was very professional and made me feel very welcome. Tiffany went beyond her efforts to accommodate my needs to get me a room and so professional. The staff, cleanliness, and all the amenities are second to none. I'm so appreciative and will stay there whenever I visit Myrtle Beach. 5 STAR

Beautiful place, very pleaseing. However the Hot tub was not working for the entire stay.

The facility was amazing, everything was very clean and secure. We did get talked into a vacation ownership presentation that was supposed to last 90 minutes that took three hours. That was the only downside of the entire trip.

The first room we were given was extremely musty. We asked to be moved and got a room with a dirty shower. The ice machine outside the room along with the AC kept us awake the whole night. The hotel is not on the beach. It is a long walk and across a road to a private beach access location. The rooms are much smaller than advertised. A true bait and switch. Very disappointed.
