Dayton House Resort, BW Signature Collection

Didn't know there was construction on the beach and separated the property. Difficult with kids getting to the beach area because of construction on the beach . Difficult navigating the different pools also due to construction. Dayton house should gave been very open and honest about all the construction.

For me everything look good in the resort

Great view in our room,able to swim in different pools,had a drink at the pool,staff was friendly, helpful and very nice. The court yard with table and chairs,the was less than 30 yards away and a lot of room at the beach.making plans already to go back !!!

The hotel is old, but you can stay for 2-3 days, no more, we were offered a room across the street. Immediately I will introduce that there are 4 different complexes . There was a special smell in the room . I don't know if it's damp or the old smell of the building.,

Make sure construction is complete. City of myrtle beach is putting a new piping system right dab in middle of the beach. You have to climb over it to get to beach. Bulldozers everywhere and pile driving that vibrates everything. They do not make beds during dailey cleaning service. Staff doesn't inform you of breakfast times so ask. Ask about lazy river too. Very much family orientated. Breakfast across street was good. Dj and little bar/restaurant by pool had great drinks and great food. Place was clean. Not making bed and checking information and major construction was only downfall of the place.

The room was fairly clean but my problem was the pull out bed it was terrible! The mattress was extremely worn and needed replacing. The staff was friendly and helpful check in and check out was smooth and quick. The breakfast was good but the last time I stayed it was great with a variety of items to choose from. This time it was limited items to choose from. The full breakfast buffet is the main reason we pick Dayton House every time we visit Myrtle Beach. The location, the lazy river and the access to the beach are the other reasons we pick this hotel.

I didn’t know they had different buildings so I didn’t expect to be in a separate building from the front desk. But it was very clean & the staff was friendly! I would stay again.

Some people would probably say the cleanliness isn't so great, but Understandably they have construction going on at the moment.

Also... in spite of the fact that it might impede your bookings, fairness in advertising might be in order to alert potential visitors to the major construction between the buildings AND especially on the beachfront.

The Rose Room is great for breakfast. Just make sure you are in there by 10 AM. They do have nice pools. And very good TV We have stayed at this hotel before, but stayed in the suites, not the Noth tower. The suites are great. The are clean and comfortable. The North tower were not as good. The room door was extremely heavy and took both of us to get the luggage unit through! The dressing area sink stopped up and before we left the kitchenette sink did also. My bad, I did not report it. The beds were comfortable enough, but the covering blanket and sheet were scratchy. We let a day early. I purchased the stay protection and am about to file for the refund on the night we didn't stay.

I communicated with the resort about the bedbugs. I also emailed the manager pictures of bikes that I received. No one has tried to get in touch with me. Will be contacting someone to see what can be done about this.

Nice property They charged me an extra $125 for pool towels. I do not recall seeing any notes about having to return pool towels to a certain location. The towels were all in our room. $25 a towel they kept…rip off!

The resort has a lot of great amenities like the pool and lazy river but everything was in separate buildings and the only way to access each building was to walk through the parking garages and along the main ocean avenue, even to go get towels for the pool. The construction was a major draw back as not only was it very unsightly but was very inconvenient. The beach access walk through from building to building or pool to pool was closed off forcing us to go to the street with our kids. The beach has major construction as well that we did not know about- a drain pipe was laid across the whole beach strip in the middle of the first night we were there, making it very difficult to get to the water and extremely unsightly.

Breakfast was included, your typical light continental of a few items, but not a lot to choose from.

2 nights of non stop construction noise Room was very beat up. Mold in shower, broken refrigerator. Very disappointed

Beach and restaurant convenience The construction was undersold compared to how much was actually going on. It went all through the night and was very loud at early morning hours.

Location was great, right in the ocean . Liked the fact that there were many pools to choose from and there was a bar/food option. Rooms are in pretty rough shape. That being said if you’re only in the room to sleep it’s fine. In the 5 days that we were there not on once was the cleaning service in. They did give clean towels when asked but definitely should be at least every two days.

The view from our balcony was beautiful. Beds were not very comfortable! We stayed in a 2 bed suite and the space near the window and ac unit was very tight as well as the space between the 2 bed and closet not enough room to open closet doors.

Everything was smooth and easy to find. Not hard to navigate No bathroom at the pool in the Suites bld.

we really enjoyed our beach view.. and we really enjoyed the pool..... Loved how everything we needed was in walking distance... and breakfast was very good..... i loved how we was greeted when we entered..... there was nothing to complain about. the whole trip was wonderful..... looking forward to coming back to visit..... a great place for the family

The room was a construction by us I ask to go cross the street to the pool. my mistake. I did not book a room by the ocean, but I asked for an upgrade said that they didn’t have no vacancy but every day I sit and look p the vacancy sign was up. The chair in our room was full of sand it all over my legs and my clothes and I sit in it. Elevator broke down had to walk down the flight stairs. Everything wasn’t like I expected to be. This was a nightmare to me. I have stayed in better places and I expect when I pay my money to have a nice place like I leave at home. Will not come there again. And was not clean…

Beach location was excellent and lots of lounge chairs/tables in yellow umbrella area. Lots of free parking was a bonus. Hotel was within walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. We have stayed here in the past and would return again.

Very damp in the room; no matter if it was kept really cool or just a bit cool, the dampness made for very uncomfortable sleeping. And that’s with not going in and out and having doors always opening.

It was a little out dated but we loved how friendly the staff was. The DJ at the pool was excellent ! Check-in was easy and staff was very helpful !

Not getting the suite we paid for.

Room was very clean, nightly maid service, staff was very friendly, breakfast we only used once and was a typical hotel breakfast, pools looked like they could use a little more often cleaning but we're cleaned daily but a lot of sand accumulates during the day.

One thing that was difficult, there was not anywhere to fill a water bottle. You had to ask the bartenders or purchase a water bottle when you needed a new one. A water fill station would have been amazing!

Staff had no clue on how to talk to customers and how to direct them when they need help. Free breakfast with booking has limited options. Pool was great, but you had to go to the front desk and wait in line each time you need a towel and for each time your returning a pool towel otherwise you will be charged 25$ for each towel, which is ridiculous. Will not book again with them.

The yellow umbrella was rarely open, the patio door wouldn’t open, the elevator needs to be updated, housekeeping was minimal, and front desk could have been more helpful/friendly.

Breakfast was great. The hot water in the shower was great. The only thing I didn't like is how the shower entrance was designed. If you have the shower on and open the door, water will get on the floor. The bed slept comfortably. The only thing I didn't like was that the pool was right outside my balcony. I didn't realize that when I booked online. But overall, it was a decent stay.

I really like the cleanliness of our room. The negatives, there was construction going on at the pier. I had ask for a room 5th floor or higher and was told no problem, ended up on 2nd floor with a light shining directly into our room.

It was nice When we got to our room shortly after they had an exterminator come up to spray around my medical son and his service dog. Seen a few bugs in the room after that. Also when ask manager questions he was very rude

The ocean view from the hotel is good. Beach is good but saw mold in the bathtub which I reported to the hotel front desk manager and they send someone to clean it but still they couldn't clean it properly. Bathroom space is also cramped. They have good space near sink and room overall space, could have better designed or planned the bathroom space.

On the last day we had a very friendly front desk lady but any other time we went to the front desk service was not so great very unfriendly. Our room was typical but carpet was frayed and our balcony door was broken and would barely open but we managed to get it open and we just left it open. The pool and hot tubs were excellent and the grounds were upkept very nicely. Parking was ok but many vehicles were parked in the lots that didn't belong there due to a concert in town and towing was not enforced. There is construction of a pier in progress and beach and ocean were restricted and enforced by life guards but of course that was for safety reasons.

Always great place to stay

We had an amazing vacation at the Dayton House! The place was incredibly clean, and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. We absolutely loved spending time in the hot tub and the indoor pool. You can't beat being right on the beach with such a beautiful oceanfront view. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back!

At Dayton House suites building- Breakfast at the Rose room- The hospitality and friendliness from the staff was exceptional and food was delicious! Beach front room with a beautiful view of the ocean/beach, spot on! Short walk out to the beach. The construction going on in the ocean (temporary pier) was entertaining to watch and not too noisy or distracting from the beauty of the ocean view or sounds. Lots of great local restaurants to eat at and a great variety of shopping! Many waterfront activities available- check out Express Watersports in Murells Inlet. The Dayton house suites building- housekeeping staff needs further training. We had to seek out new lines, TP and new trash bag liners every day. Sometimes we could locate a housekeeper in the hallway, other times we had to go to service desk for linens and TP. We placed used linens and bagged trash in hallway because housekeeping didn't come in to retrieve. There needs to be a public bathroom on main level by lazy river.

The room was clean and good for week stay. The check in process was ok. I checked in on the app to bypass the front desk but I had to go there anyway which seemed to defeat the purpose of the app check in. Also, the digital keep worked on the door and not in the elevator but the physical key worked on the elevator and not the room lock. Crazy. All the amenities were not in one central location so you had to walk to different buildings not connected to each other to get to the gym or breakfast sight or 3rd pool which wasn't convenient at all. However, it was right on the beach but near a construction sight on the beach. Over all it was a good beach week and decent place to stay. Not exactly sure i would reserve a stay here again though.

Our recent stay at the Dayton House Resort was over the weekend. The people (except for the manager) were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, however the bed was terrible. It was not supportive at all and you could tell that it was fairly old by how the mattress sunk on the side of the bed by the nightstand. I suppose where most people sat to watch tv or sleep if they were alone. The building itself was quite old and could have used a paint job and some better lighting in the lobby where the ping pong table was. The door to the outside was uneven so it got stuck when you tried to open or close it.

Thanks for the place, but I won't be back.

Everything except when I check in I told the receptionist that I was there on vacation with my daughters we was there checking in together with one of my daughters the rest was on the way been I was the mother she put me ion one side of the building and all the rest of my family together on the other side of the building together in the same building tower and me way on the left tower and they on the right walking distance separation for me from my family and it was wrong the white blonde woman who checked me in she try to act a little friendly but for a little I can tell she is not and we told her we was there and I was the mother they were my daughters and she Split me apart from the family All the rest was together but me beening a church going person I gave it to God The property was nice

Location Some of the staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming and then there was some of the staff that pretended not to notice you as if they didn’t want to really assist you in any way and were somewhat hesitant to assist . Not sure why they had that behavior. But eventually they asked if i needed help because other coworkers were around and noticed the delay.

Location is perfect! The variety of pools was very convenient for an indecisive toddler. Loved the tiki bar and all the staff were so pleasant. Even with a little construction just beside the building, you hardly even realized it. I loved the area of grass in between the pools and beach so it gives the opportunity to not get so sandy if you don’t want that, but you can still hear the ocean and see the beautiful view. Very accommodating! The only part where we had trouble was checking in. There is not an area to park conveniently to check in. So you almost have to be in other people‘s way until they let you know where you’re able to park. I did appreciate the car garage underneath our building which allowed for a cool car every time we decided to go out!

First time staying there and will not be the last one. The weather was a little crazy the first few days but last two days were amazing. There is a very good ocean view from the hotel and having it so close to the waterfront area it’s a big plus! A lot of areas to explore without necessarily leaving the area. Restaurants are a bit pricey so be aware. Don’t leave without trying the New York style pizza… just delicious! Hotel shares 3 to 4 different buildings and guests can use any of their pools at anytime. Breakfast is located at a different building but close enough and they serve a very good continental breakfast. Hotel also includes parking lots with no extra charge. And they also provide beach towels but make sure you return them or they will charge you $25 for each. In general, a very good stay. Next time, we will try without the kids.

I personally would not go to this hotel again in the near future. I would consider other options.

The bed was very comfortable, but I didn't like the shower pressure—it was very weak. Very little water came out of both the shower and the sink. That is a downside.

Hotel is older so I don’t expect pristine accommodations but just be nice. Housekeeping staff was awesome, came every day and provided whatever we needed. A table on the balcony would have been helpful. Beds not really comfortable. Breakfast was good. A bird flew into the glass by the hot tub and that wasn’t good!!!

Given the reviews. I was expecting a better experience. The room was clean and the bed was good. The pools were very dirty and the 4 days we were there. We didn't see anyone cleaning or keeping them up. The breakfast was not good at all. The lounge chairs were very cheap, old and need to be up-dated.

I didn’t plan to comment on the negativities I experienced at this resort because it wasn’t horrible, just disappointing that it was misrepresented online. I moved past that and chalked it up to not reading enough reviews, which was my fault. Until…we called and requested a later checkout on Sunday and were told they weren’t allowing those that certain weekend because they were fully booked. The vacancy sign was on all weekend. Let that go. But then…housekeeping knocked on our door at 10:40am when checkout is at 11am and asked when we’d be out. In my opinion, that is unacceptable and has never happened to me. The staff wasn’t able to answer when the bar & grill would be open. We asked because it wasn’t open during the hours provided on their website. It opened the next day but the staff should be knowledgeable. The air conditioning in our room was spotty. It would work sometimes and randomly turn off. I didn’t complain, just dealt with it. The beds were comfy and seemingly clean. The water pressure was awful. We enjoyed the grassy area with the tables and chairs. I wouldn’t stay there again and wouldn’t be writing this review if housekeeping didn’t interrupt the time we paid for and waiting outside of our door. We were out of our room at 10:58 and they were lurking. Paying a significant amount of money and being bothered before the checkout time is extremely inappropriate.

I loved the location and the breakfast buffet included was good and convenient. The pools were clean and beautiful along with the hot tub. Our balcony view to the beach was great. The hotel advertises a poor bar however they did not state it was closed all week and only open on the weekends so that was disappointing. Our room was in the guest suites building on floor 6 and the smell in the hallway was atrocious. The carpets inside our room were ripped and coming off the corners and looked like it hasn’t been clean in years. Definitely upgrading to get a better room wasn’t worth it, I feel as the other buildings with the cheaper rooms were newly renovated. This was a good location for us, but we will not be booking again.

I always stay at Dayton House. Staff is always friendly. The hotel is worn but they keep it clean for the most part. I love Sara the bartender. The food is delicious to be from a hotel. The cooks and breakfast crew love their jobs because the food reflects it. The bar drinks are very inexpensive. My only complaint was that I was disappointed that there was no entertainment at the pool area like it was before. I think it should be a more livelier vibe at the pool. I kept asking for the music to be turned on an no one cared. My friend stayed at another local hotel and he said they partied every night with a dj, u had to go to his hotel for entertainment. I just think that could be a priority for guests all summer!

I did not like breakfast. Since I got there and see breakfast you provide, I made decision to buy my own food. I did not eat your breakfast for anytime. Nothing. Rude people on frontdesk, respond guest disrespect, if you ask service they tell you that you have to book it before 24h. I made decision to leave from that hotel after one day and move to another where they value their guests. No refund for any reason. I travel a lot I haven't been hotel like Dayton house.

The location was convenient, but the overall stay was disappointing. The room and oool area felt outdated, the Wi-Fi was unreliable, It was acceptable for a short stay but I would consider other options before staying here again.

Everything was incredible!! Definitely would recommend staying here:) We had an excellent time. Only unfortunate thing was that the Yella Umbrella pool bar/snack area never opened.

Rooms are dated. There was a weird smell in the hallway. Good thing is you have easy access to the beach and beach view was good. Bedrooms are closer to the main door and the living room is closer to the oceanfront which is a weird room layout. Breakfast was ok. Its not in same building and you need to walk across the street to get breakfast.

Room They need to report that there is a crane on beach year round drilling sand directly In front of hotel. Very noisy & who wants to sit on beach with giant construction equipment?!!! It was only disclosed after booking a no cancellation reservation. This information should be provided on hotel details prior to booking. Also the restaurant is across the street serve breakfast only. No restaurant on property/ no lunch dinner available.

During our stay when we first got there it looks great! The check in was flawless and the staff was very helpful. Upon exiting the elevator there was a strong small of urine and the carpet was dirty. Then upon arrival to the room it looks very nice and clean until you get to the bathroom. There was 3 baby roaches crawling. One in the tub one behind the toilet and one on the wall beside the toilet. I would definitely think about staying here and clean your bags thoroughly before leaving to avoid carrying roaches home. I did enjoy the beach view and the direct access to the beach, but I will it be staying here again.

The rooms were the biggest downfall of the resort. They were old, and not very clean. The hallways were terrible dirty and gave a bad first impression on your way to the room. The maids do not clean your room even if you ask. We were told that they were too busy. We enjoyed the beach, the pools and the location but would not stay at this resort again. The staff at the breakfast buffet were very nice.

Disappointed in the room. The latch for patio was broke, the faucet for shower has issues. WiFi was glitching. The resort amenities was great and staff was very helpful.

Cleaning of the room can be better. There was no body wash only a small bar of the soap. If the room for 2 people it should be 2 set of shampoo and hair conditioner. No only 1.

Overall a really nice resort. Right on the beach. Heated pools were nice and warm. The rooms were clean and a nice size. Breakfast had a nice variety in tge morning. A great place to stay.

The pools were nice. Direct access to the beach. Buildings were run down. Broken things in the room (toaster smelt like it was going to cause an electrical fire, hook feel off of bathroom door with 1 towel on it etc..). Reasonably priced. Does include breakfast (instant eggs, bacon or sausage, bread, waffle maker.

We loved the location and simplicity of the checkin... parking was a huge factor for us since we had a trailor.. motorcycles and a truck... and you all were very accommodating... Thank you !! The room above us unfortunately partied very loudly and banged on the floor alot causing us to get little sleep night after night but somethings venture here helped

The staff at the breakfast location was great and really showed us southern hospitality One of the staff members at the front desk ( Did Not Get Her Name) was not friendly at all. Whatever you asked her the answer was always "No" We could not get a 30 minute late check out. All we needed to do was but the desk agent told us no. The plumbing in the room was horrible, the toilet inside the room would not flush completely, you had to stand there and hold down the handle

The room was old and dated. The carpet had carpet nails sticking up and was buckled. We had to call several times for maintenance as the TV was not working. The staff was friendly. The buffet was good. Overall a poor experience. We will not be returning to this property.

This was a great location and clean. When I got off the elevator it could use some painting but when I opened the door to the room is was good. The breakfast was okay to good. Very friendly staff and helpful. The beach was wonderful.

The room was also smelly and there was no iron in the room. The ceiling of the room was also having little bumps like the paint will fall on bed. I also took some pictures of it. View was great and people were good and helpful, beach was great. Breakfast was the best part.

This property was extremely reasonable in price, very very located to everything. A little dated when it comes to faclities

The hot tub and pool were very dirty, full of sand, none of the ice makers worked, when I booked the room I specifically asked for the hot tub and pool to be near, I was out in the building across the road with no pool, no ice make, no hot tub, with the construction workers running fht outside my window.

Looks nothing like pictures. Rooms are dirty and outdated. I was stranded inside for a night because Expedia wouldn’t return my first night fee and everything else was sold out. Very disappointed

Palmetto bugs or roaches were under our bed and on the carpet in our room. Complained to manager. He said he would spray. Found many under bed after that. It was digusting. Smelled like mildew in room. Pools were nice but the one hot tub didn’t really have any power or heat. I’ll never go there again!

The rooms could use some updates and the pools were dirty but the staff was amazing and the room was clean. The breakfast could use some work, waffles were chewy and they run out of bacon fast. But again, the breakfast staff were friendly and they kept the area very clean through the chaos.

The property was clean and safe , the hotel has alot of great amenities. Parking could be better, they have designated parking but it was away from the hotel. Currently there is construction going right beside the hotel.

This hotel is dated. Needs TLC. But the staff is nice and they try to keep up with it. Parking and drop off it’s not easy. Breakfast you have to walk a block away to separate building for free breakfast. The bar has good drinks at pool area. It’s an older hotel. Suites are not fully equipped.

This site has multiple pools. Although they needed to be cleaned, as I noticed Tons of chlorine . Great location and offers breakfast, however the eggs are wet .. I also did receive towels after needing to call and ask for them and ask for garbage to be removed.

Location of the hotel was great with oceanfront views. Hotel rooms need to be updated and painted inside rooms. Breakfast was good, but would have liked to see more fruits and granola bars. Pool and access to the beach were great.

I did like it, the only reason why I didn’t choose excellent was because our bathroom was not flushing good it took a couple tries to get it to actually flush and I wish the breakfast had more options but other than that I really enjoyed my stay. Just the bathroom and not much breakfast selection.

This is a very misrepresented property. I have many many pictures to show the condition of the room that we were given. The beds were horrible. They were so bouncy and spongy with no support. But there were pieces of drywall out black marks on the wall poor poor workmanship in the bathroom remodel. I have pictures. It was just terrible.

My only 3 concerns are - Breakfast. It was a buffer breakfast that was located about a block away. Food was ok, coffee was meh.. - Construction on the beach. If you are an esthetic this place is not currently for you - Customer service 😮‍💨 People were simply not pleasent.

My husband and I enjoyed our suite. It was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was very good as well

Rooms were very clean. Staff was great. Free breakfast buffet with great staff. Only problem with our stay May 2026, was they are building a pier between the tower we stayed in and the main property. You either had to walk the street or the beach to get to the regular pool, hot tub, reception, and bar.

The View in the room that we stayed at was beautiful and the beach is very close! The room was like back in the 1970's, needs to be updated bad even the electrical in my opinion. Congenital breakfast was across the street which warm food should be cover and boiled eggs should be wrapped and refrigerated in my opinion for health reasons. The inside pool was in a different building which I did not like to go to a different outside building to go swimming but that's my opinion too! I will not stay there again until improvements are definitely made. JL

Overall Dayton House provides good value and service. The rooms are very "used" but serviceable. The staff is helpful. The many pool & outdoor facilities are wonderful. Breakfast is super!

We enjoyed the different pools and loved the food and the service at the breakfast facility!

Overall the experience was fine; property is split in numerous buildings and breakfast is a block or two walk. We stayed in the suite building with a separate bedroom, kitchen and balcony. It was a separate building divided by construction of the 24th street pier project so access to the main building and pools were difficult. The overall buildings are pretty tired, rooms were so so in the cleaning department (could use a good carpet cleaning or just put in tile flooring. The pools in the suite bldg. were very dark and stale looking so we did not use them. Breakfast is free but sparce, no cereal or danish or muffins, just powdered eggs, meat and waffles. Over the period of 5 days gets a bit tiresome. It's a bit of a hike to the main area and there is a lot of construction going on along the way. Overall it was okay but I don't think I would return to this particular place.

This is the bad experience I had ever. I plan to take a vacation me and my wife, so I choose to go to this place which I saw a nice picture on the property photos but in reality, is different. We travel Friday in the mooring after 10 hr. driving; we can't find a park spot and park available so narrow after checking in we found room not clean and have flee on the carpet and the AC is very loud, then my wife gets upset and we decided to leave nest days.

When we arrived the sink was stopping up, had to call maintenance,then on top of that we started seeing roaches crawling around badly won't stay again.

The hotel is very dated and the pictures don’t match how the resort actually looks. Our room was clean in the bathroom but the carpet was very very dirty (it left our feet black). The main building, which is where we stayed, has a musty smell everywhere. None of the buildings connect so you have to go on the Main Street sidewalk to get to the pools. The pools are heated but tiny. The staff was very nice and attentive.

The staff was absolutely terrible! Would not help us with a slick floor that could have caused a bad accident. Asked for a mop to clean the floor and was told housekeeping had left for the day and there was nothing they could do. Door had a quarter inch gap under door that the wind from the hallway would come through that whistled so loud that you couldn’t sleep. Was told to put a towel in front of door. Absolutely pathetic resonance from the front desk staff. I wish I was able to post pictures because it was that bad. The Hotel is a Best Western corporation and we will never stay at one again.

The balcony partial view room was in pretty good condition but the hallways and elevators were disgusting . I stayed there for 5 days and they were never cleaned once. The lady working at the breakfast buffet was very rude. The desk staff was not helpful and check in was extremely slow. The best part was the very close access to the beach

I stayed in the king size suite it was okay. The breakfast is across the street instead of in the hotel the parking is either across the street or in a small size parking deck with limited space and access. I never saw the ice machine to fill the bucket. The hotel can use an update for a more modern appearance such as the furniture and remove the carpet because for the sake of customers having allergies it is not good. The bathroom is very compact in size not much room it wasn't what I expected but it was okay for the price staff was very friendly

Most staff were nice. Only came across 1 bad egg We got 2 rooms that were roach infested. Floors and furniture were disgusting. They could not move us due to rooms being full. Instead they offered a refund for 1 room for 1 night and 6 weeks later I'm still waiting on my refund. Apparently booking. Com and this facility have trouble communicating. Would never stay again nor would I recommend

Besides the ongoing construction we had a blast! Great amenities, good drinks and food at the pool bar, close to broadway at the beach and the boardwalk. Tasha was very helpful and polite and got us early check in on arrival day which we were extremely grateful for after a long 14 hour drive. Plenty of free accessible parking. Breakfast is okay, very limited options(waffles, sausages, eggs, yogurt, fruit). Will stay again!

The resort is nice for what you pay. On going construction was a pain to get around. Parking is difficult if it is your first time there.

The property and room were clean and convenient to beach. The breakfast buffet was a nice extra. We visited in spring so not peak tourism but could be crazy busy on summer. My main complaints were the towel service was not automatic and I asked for the toilet flapper to be fixed and they said they would send someone up. Never did. We were only there 3 days so I didn't ask again. The carpet and chair in the room was showing signs of wear and dirt. Shower was clean and mold free.

Location of the property was good and close to restaurants and shops. We our bikes too so we could do the boardwalk. The place is older and pretty dated. But all the basics were there. We didn’t have kids or anything so we didn’t use the pools. Not sure I’d go back. But the stay was fine.

Disappointing stay. Tried to book a reasonably budgeted vacation, but the “resort” felt like we paid minimum prices with the rooms to come here. Would have been glad to spend a little more to stay at the DoubleTree where we needed to stay an additional night due to flight delays. It felt like several stars’ difference instead of 1. Dayton felt like a motel stay. I read reviews and saw photos but felt really led astray in the end. Rooms were clean enough but just dingy walls, some used false eyelashes noted on the floor, dingy elevators. Room wasn’t cleaned the first day and I learned we needed to request a clean 24 hours in advance to get this. One of the pools was closed. The free breakfast that people highlighted was dismal. Found only pancakes, no fruit. Saw other families trying to make the most of it. Didn’t return to this breakfast. Staff was nice but it was just very disappointing.

Not a bad hotel but for the money paid , was not able to be accommodated for early arrival check in was 4pm and had to wait 6 hours to get my room even though i called asking if there was any early check outs because i had travel with children, Also after the long wait they gave me a room with a broken shower knob and was not able to run hot water for my entire stay, but otherwise breakfast and breakfast staff were great, kids loved the pools aswell.

He was kind, polite, and repaired what was needed quickly. 4. The 2 The breakfast was fine. One could pick from what was available. The french toast sticks were deep fried & greasy. Room was mediocre. Mold on shower edges, sliding glass door needed WD40. Was VERY difficult to slide open. Needed to pull hard with both hands.

The room was very nice and had a great view of the ocean. The indoor pool looked a little murky. It was very accessible to the beach and it offered lots of parking. I liked that you had to use your room key to use the elevator it was an extra feeling of security and safety. There were lots of kids who seem to be loving the pool and they offered a DJ from 12 to 4.

Definitely needs a renovation, dated rooms; there is construction right next to the property, noise. Good thing - rooms have kitchens; very useful for longer stays and very nice pool and hot tubs; right by the beach and close to the boardwalk.

Our stay was okay, property needs some updates in rooms and bathrooms, cheaper for a reason, breakfast was nice but you do have to walk 2 different streets up to go to breakfast (no biggie) however not easy accessible, the staff at restaurant were a tad rude. Allot of construction next door so accessing the lazy river youll have to walk on the road or beach access walk through construction. It has dirty hallways and rooms, but it was decent for spending the night . Bar is nice down by one of the pools.

The resort is spread across multiple buildings and multiple parking lots. Our building and parking lot were further away from the registration office. The parking lot and breakfast area did require walking a small distance. The hotel was clean, but not as pictured on the website. It had the vibe of a motel.

The pools were gross, the first night we tried to go to the pool - one was green, the other had a turd sitting on the bottom. Tried speaking so someone at front desk about it but the line was 6 people deep so I sent a message on the app - never got a reply. The first night I called to ask for a new remote, also sent a message on the app, went into the office to ask again the next day, they finally dropped one of 3 days after I first asked, 30mins before we checked out. Breakfast was basic with long lines even though he got there before 8. I wouldn’t say there again.

Free breakfast was great. Pools were rowdy due to kids and not having staff that enforced the pool rules. Elevator was terrifying and sounded like it would break while inside. Inside of the room was beat up which was disappointing since I paid for a king suite. Cleaning was poor since they only changed the trash and brought us one towel a day. The doors would slam and you’d hear it all day long from every room including the floors above and below. Excellent staff, highly professional and very kind but just disappointed by a few things that should’ve been included in the description of the room.

The pictures online are not up to date with the reality of this property. It's not very clean at all - the rooms were semi clean but the hallways, the elevators, and the common areas like pools were very dirty.

This is a decent hotel. Room was clean and they refresh your towels daily. Breakfast was good, but standard for free hotel breakfast.

Rooms were just ok. Barhroom needs update and good cleanung . Balcony doors don't reduce the noise at all. Was really hard to fall asleep because of all other guest noise on balconies and pool area even at 11pm. Weed smell right outside elevators in hallways. Would not recommend it if you come with kids.

The rooms are very old and outdated. Our bathroom door wouldn't even shut. Carpet is disgusting. There's a mold in the corner in the shower above. The ceiling is tons of mold and mildew on the balcony of the right hand side look like it was falling off. it's definitely disconnected from the wall. All of the dishes were sticky. The view has a crane in it. There's no luggage rack.

One day of checkout was taking stuff to car has left a few things in room to come back for. When got back up to room the housekeeping people was already in there going through my stuff and throwing it away. Caught the lady with my ketchup bottle in her hand pull it back out of bag when I opened the door. They had also already threw my bag of Doritos and a drink away. Check out was at 11am. This all happened around 10am why was they in my room already going through my stuff before checkout time?

The breakfast was one of the best things about the stay. The line is long. But, there was play of good food. The staff was very friendly and able to answer questions and manage concerns. The pools were NOT in great condition: they were dirty and closed for part of the stay. I’m hoping it’s due to just opening. However, being spring break, the use of pools and hot tubs are wanted. The biggest, man pool started to look cleaner as the week went on. But, it was crowded. There was blood all over one of the lounge chairs that had dripped onto the ground. Upon arrival, our beds looked clean, but the floors and carpet were not. There was sand all in the carpet and items on the floor under the table and chairs. They focused on the construction nearby, but other than being unsightly, it wasn’t so loud. Not sure I’d stay there again

Several of the pools ended up being closed due to being very dirty breakfast area always overcrowded rooms were pretty nice, but bedrooms are at the front of the room. All you heard was door, slamming people talking even up till midnight.

The A/C went out on the last night and It was extremely hot. The front desk said if I would’ve called, they would’ve came out because they have 24/hour maintenance. There was a red stain on the floor in the room.

This place is a complete dump!! Why you ask there is toe nails on the floor. The carpet looks like it hasn't been vacuumed in months! There is people parting at all hours! The police had to be called one night to get them to quiet down at 1am. The next night it was another room partying till 1am. Took me calling and going down to the office to get them to do anything about this and still they didn't quiet down this was going on till 2am! Beyond frustrated that this place has such high reviews through Expedia and it doesn't deserve it! Don't get me started on the breakfast because that was just not acceptable at all unless you like eating hard sausage and runny eggs!! This place needs an over haul!!!

The staff were excellent. The room was not what I expected. I really wanted to cancel and get another room.

For starters, the elevators didn’t work, the rooms were not up-to-date. It was more or less false advertisement. There was cracks along the ceiling and the wall walls in the bathroom and in the sleeping area. Dead roaches on the floor in the bathroom and underneath the microwave area. And the hall smelled of marijuana.

We enjoyed our stay. Room was clean and staff was professional.

Overall our stay was very nice. The hotel and pool is a bit dated however the breakfast was very good, the staff was very friendly and informative. And the room was very clean and in a convenient location.

The facility was close to Grand Park Athletic Complex where we spent most of each day which was so convenient.

Four months ago we stayed somewhere else 18 minutes away, although more money, hands down worth the extra amount.

Before when we’ve stayed there they had potatoes and bacon on the breakfast menu but not this time and that was one of the things that we were coming back to the hotel for was the breakfast.

Kitchens in suites are not equipped enough for clients to actually cook a meal. Our suite had no cutting board,.no colander, no spatulas, one large spoon and one nutter knife. There was no paper towel at all. Hit tibs were not up to temp, but at least they were warm. Advertising needs to be updated as they advertise a bar on premise, but nowhere do they say it's a seasonal bar. Having a restaurant that serves only breakfast would also be nice to know ahead of time. Also, i booked a room with a tub shower combo according to the Expedia info and it had a shower stall only. The core was great, but they don't offer information.stio. That there is major construction going on...patrons don't find out until they arrive. Units are very dated and a face list wouldale a world of difference. The staff is friendly, helpful and accommodating and the location excellent. Having plenty of parking that is free is definitely a plus. We wanted to leave the staff a more, however nowhere on the unit were there pens or paper.

Room caught fire due to stove knobs being very sensitive. Had to pay $250 for “damages” and then still tried to get us to stay in a smoke filled room with our kids

Now the Good, the Staff above and beyond. The room was clean. It was im the middle of prices so not the ritz but still nice. The View Great. But to warn you there is construction going on on pier next to hotel so if it bothers you might want to check dates. They were also updating and painting so again if it bothers you. It wasnt an issue for me but I was only in room at night.

The room was in good condition and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hot tub in the suites building which was covered outdoor had a lot of dead mosquitoes in it. Our hot water was not working the first night and the second night it was warm but not hot.

When I first came into the room I found a raw chicken package wrapper stuck to the wall about 7' high across from the fridge. I let the staff know and they seemed surprised. The people working the desk were very nice. The "indoor pool" looked very dirty and had what looked like a film on top of the water. Also 2 of the 3 gates to get into it were locked with no sign directing where to go. It was also disappointing that the construction was impeding the walk between buidlings, The image of the hotel doesnt indicate at all that there would be a pier being built. Just overall meh.

Very comfortable room overlooking the beach. It’s an older property but well maintained. The HVAC unit was not working properly but was promptly repaired when we reported it. Front desk staff was friendly. No complaints with the stay.

Room was old, dirty and outdated. Smelled like cat pee. Breakfast was terrible. No hot water, and shower leaked out into the hallway. After one night we checked out and cancelled the rest of our stay. The hotel was great about it and refunded all of our money.

The staff was very sweet. The hotel was clean, but pretty small. For newly renovated rooms, they weren’t as nice as expected. But we got a great deal on the room and the pools were warm and the perfect view of the ocean as well as beach access. Would stay again!

The room oceanfront was spacious and clean great view. The only challenge was that the room did smell very stale or musty. Left the balcony door open at all times which helped. Unfortunately with the bedroom the furthest from the balcony , the bedroom wasn’t smelling good. Could have opened the back door which would have helped but concerned about safety. The new added feature of key card in elavators was smart. Awesome short stay but the smell would have bothered me if we were staying for a week or longer. Please don’t spray rooms with freshener that makes it worse and doesn’t resolve whatever the issue is.

Room was clean, heated outdoor pools and hot tubs were nice. Plenty of poolside and umbrella lawn chairs. Easy beach access. There was no easy access to the lazy river due to the city construction project which was disappointing. Housekeeping only emptied trash and left clean bathroom towels on the sink. Free breakfast is somewhat limited but good. This was our first time visiting Myrtle Beach and we would definitely return!

On the 9th floor with an ocean view room - we loved view, day and night. They have one of the best hotel shops I’ve seen! Ice cream, great variety of chips and candy, good microwave oven heatable dinners.

All was fine, espec for the price. Place need updating tho. Windows cleaned, etc. Front desk very pleasant. Easy ck in & out. Great views & lots of pools & hot tubs.

Very nice two night off season visit for some R&R. Staff were wonderful. Lovely pool area and direct access to the pristine beach. Two issues…I found hair and grit in the shower stall. There were a surprisingly large number of homeless people nearby and as I was on foot I did not feel safe walking alone to get food in the evenings. Would definitely re-visit, but hire a car next time. Classic beachfront family location.

Our tub/shower didn't drain. When Desk was alerted we were told housekeeping would address it. They did, the morning we were checking out. There was a wet spot in the bedroom carpet, sonething was leaking in the floor. It also was never addressed. Parking was difficult to find. And security... Let me tell you, my boyfriend was harassed, stalked by security our last night there for sitting outside on the lawn chairs enjoying the night. Yes,it was late, but the guard did not make it know he was security & actually hid from him once we noticed we were being followed - which freaked me out. The pool/lazy river looked dirty, one pool was closed. The hot tubs werent hot. I believe the only positive I really have was breakfast. That was really good.

I been at this hotel many times, and this time we stay in the family suites and this building is a little outdated ,so it wasn't as nice as my previous experience, but it was still okay and they do have a good healthy breakfast and there is construction going on . It a good location and easy parking.

There was a lot of construction around our building so we had to walk around to get to the beach. The room smelled musty due to a sopping wet carpet. An industrial fan was provided but it just made the entire condo feel damp. The toilet seat was loose, the bathroom fan didn’t work, and the light above the kitchen sink was burned out.

The hotel is nice, the city is doing construction right alongside the property. The breakfast consisted of several items that came frozen, were microwaved, and then sat in the buffet table until they were various colors of rubber.

Nice view of the Beach! I stay here twice a year. Very pleased with the accommodations. Except I was disappointed with the breakfast this time. The variety was not like they had in the past.

We thought we saw a but in our kitchenette the first night, but didn’t see it a second time. Until our last night when my husband took his clothes out of the dresser. He killed four roaches that night. We let front desk know and asked if we wanted to switch rooms. We checked out first thing in the morning. They told us at checkout to contact Expedia for a refund of the room.

The ladies at the office were wonderful and so helful. This hotel use to have a great breakfast at the rose room, but now they are cutting back. Having to deal with the construction was difficult. Will check out other hotels for future trips.

The place is so old it needs to be rebuilt. Our room had flickering light bulb, leaking shower, the doors didn't lock properly. It smelled old and very dank.

Parking was tough, bathrooms are poorly designed. There wasn't enough utensils for cooking. The girls at the front desk were great.

Had 2 great ocean views from the room. Staff was very friendly when i checked in, however there was a different staff member the next evening when i asked for quarters for the laundry, she was so disgusting and rude and only seemed into the 2 guys she had there talking to her. She definitely needs a different job. Shes should not be in customer service. Other than her, everything else was great. The housekeeper was fantastic and kept the room stocked and cleaned.

Our stay at Dayton House was overall positive. The pool area was very nice and all of the staff were friendly. Rooms were what you would expect for a budget hotel, older and could be cleaner but overall decent. The carpet in the rooms is what made it feel dirty, I made sure we keep my shoes on. Housekeeping only replaced towels everyday, no other cleaning occurred. The view was great and the beach in front of the hotel was nice.

The room and amenities were clean. However the noise from construction was difficult to deal with especially as somrone with disabilities.

We stayed at the beginning of the season and this trip was the end of the season. ALOT more smoking in pool area, on balconies and anywhere. It was alot of 50-70 year olds reliving the 1970-80's with a lot of hot tub action and shots. Good news it was over by 10 pm.

The staff was friendly and helpful. I booked thru a third party and wasn't notified about all the construction. Couldn't use amenities that were on the property. Might have a different rating if no construction was going on.

This property was nice. It did not charge to park. Breakfast was included. Nice pool. Nice outdoor bar/snack bar. Two hot tubs. People were so friendly.

The room was nice but I didn’t want to walk on the carpet with bare feet. Staff was so friendly, this was important because I was solo. I slept to the sound of the ocean and watched the sun rise in the morning. Great view!

This hotel feels very obsolete. Old fixtures, rust in the sink, dated carpet. Very basic bathrooms. We got basically, no cleaning, only towel replacement. Staff is not exactly friendly. I had amazing ocean view and liked the outside facilities, pools, etc. However, there were no bathrooms or showers close to the lazy river area and a spa. We had breakfast included. It had the worst choice and quality I ever had in any hotel, including cheap motels. This hotel has great location, and good pools. I won't recommend it, it's cost and value do not match.

There was city pipe construction between the buildings, so it was very inconvenient to get back-and-forth and although this is a one time thing, it was not clearly stated when we booked the hotel so please be sure to look into that. Other than this was city construction was not their fault. I would not stay there again due to the room smell.

If you like dead cockroaches in the stairwell, pools that aren’t cleaned, and dried commit in your hallway this is your place. The pool looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. They were directly on the beach which was beautiful but they were rebuilding the pier which was quite noisy. Also a number of folks smoking in the courtyard or on their balconies.

The lobby had a damp musty smell. The elevators were filthy. The room was adequate in terms of bed attire but the ceiling had water stains, the carpet smelled and odor was covered with a powerful “Febreeze-like” smell. The breakfast area was dirty. Will never go back.

I enjoyed the loungers on the lawn, pool, and hot tub. Convenient walkable to restaurants. Breakfast included was a plus.

The room was plain. No pictures hanging not people friendly at all. The bathroom was not clean, there was hair all over the sink, counter and floor. There was a dirty towel hanging on the back of the door. I kept sneezing. I called the front desk to have someone come clean the bathroom and vacuum the carpet. Also the beds were small and uncomfortable. My worst stay at Dayton House!

We stayed there for one night.. area around is great! Parking is poor- you have to park about a block away from the hotel. We had a dead bug on the wall and the floors were sticky! Gross!! The beach view was great!

The necessary construction

We loved that it was right on the beach. Get a seaside view, it’s worth it. The staff were wonderful and plenty of dining options in the area.

The property was nice good location nice ocean view the mattress could use some updating. I liked that the pool stayed open until 10:30pm but I didn’t like that they also locked the gate to the ocean at the same time. Key cards to get in and out might be better then you could lock the gate but guests could still get in and out if they wanted, also free breakfast every morning was nice and it was actually breakfast eggs, sausage, home fries. Last thing drinks at the bar were expensive that’s why most people bring their own cheaper drinks people will buy more

The front desk staff are lovely and helpful. The room was clean, but there was evidence it needed an upgrade. The mattresses were very worn, there was rust on the fridge and microwave and orange discoloration in the shower corners. The beach access was ok, but the area’s pier is under construction and the crane is all you can see. And don’t set down your stuff even by the hotel. My shoes were stolen within 15 minutes of walking on the beach. Which was my fault.

pools hot tubs and rooms all were clean. the included buffet breakfast was awesome. friendly atmosphere and there were enough stores in walkable distance. my only 2 complaints were the elavator was slow and not enough ice makers.

This was surprising because the building seemed mostly empty — it’s 16 floors with 11 rooms per floor, and it looked like only about 10 rooms were occupied. It’s hard to believe they didn’t have even one room with a bigger bed available. As for housekeeping, they don’t actually clean your room. Instead, they just knock in the morning to hand you fresh towels. The room itself smelled very old, and we had to buy something to freshen it up just to make it bearable. We also found roaches in the room. When I reported it, the staff simply said “I’m sorry,” without offering any real solution or trying to make things right. It felt like they didn’t care. The hotel is on the beach, which is nice, but for the price we paid, the overall experience was very disappointing. There are definitely better options for the same cost.

My first visit to Myrtle Beach was memorable. While the room was old and had a noticeable odor, the ocean view was outstanding. The breakfast offered was typical for a hotel, but I strongly recommend arriving early to avoid the long lines. The rooms are quite small, making it uncomfortable for larger families. Overall, this hotel provides solid value for the price.

There are several buildings which i didn’t realize. We were across the street from the beach with a view of debris. The bathtub was painted with white paint, as was the ceiling in a spot which looked like it was trying to cover mold. It was so loud outside. The included breakfast was on a completely different building.
