The property appeared old, outdated, and poorly maintained. The overall atmosphere felt run-down and uninviting. Customer service was also lacking. The staff rarely made eye contact or seemed interested in assisting guests, and even at checkout there was little effort to engage or address concerns. What concerned us most was the level of crime and police activity in and around the property. On the very first night of our stay, there was significant disturbance and suspicious activity around the area. We intentionally avoided parking in the main lot because there always seemed to be something going on. During our stay, we heard what sounded like a gunshot, and on another morning my husband woke up to a SWAT team presence nearby. It is also worth noting that there is a noticeable difference between North Myrtle Beach and South Myrtle Beach. In our experience, the north side felt cleaner, better maintained, and overall higher quality. South Myrtle Beach appeared to have a much heavier police presence, while North Myrtle Beach even had signs reminding drivers that pedestrians have the right of way, which contributed to a safer and more welcoming atmosphere. This was not the relaxing vacation we expected. No amount of savings on the room rate could make up for feeling uncomfortable and unsafe during our trip. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we cannot recommend

The lazy river and kids splash area was maintained well enough. The distance to the ocean was nice being on the beach side. I would say if your intent is to sleep here and spend the rest of the time out of the hotel, this is a great hotel.

The hallways smelled like human urine! The carpet in the room was soaking wet with obvious water stains. There were patched up holes in the walls. The coffee pot machine was rusted and was not left any coffee for the coffee machine. The refrigerator was nasty. The bathtub had jets in it, but there was no faucet for you to run water. You can only take a shower! One bed had a bedbug cover while the other one did not. The bedding was so outdated back from like the 90s. And only one light worked where the beds were. It definitely was not worth paying almost $300 for one night! I wish I can get a refund! Although the staff seemed pretty nice. I willNever again while I stay at this hotel!

The room was not clean, and all of the appliances were old and rusty. The bedding was dirty, and the overall condition of the room was disappointing. The staff were not professional and had a poor attitude, which made the experience even worse.

Lady at check in was very rude. As if she didn’t even want to work there. I manage almost 100 people and I would be livid if one of them talk to a customer that way. She didn’t want to get up out of her chair. You had to reach around the glass to get your room keys. After checkin I went to the room. It smelt like an ash tray. I went downstairs and asked for if they had any air fresheners to cover up the smell. She made it seem as if I was bothering her. She sucked her teeth as she got up from the chair to go get it. I thanked her after she gave it to me. Her reply was OK. I have traveled a lot over the past 25 years and more so the past 8 years. I have never seen someone in customer service at a hotel or resort this miserable.

For an older hotel it was pretty good wy better than I expected. The rooms were roomy and comfortable. The only thing is half the recepticals did not work. Luckily I took an extention cord and I could at least have hot water for coffee. (Brought my own instannt coffee and fixins) no coffee creamer or sugar in room. Had cups though. They don't have enough lounge chairs. Only 5 near lazy river and 3 at indoor pool. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Gave us several places we could park. We knew it was going to be bad because of the COUNTY MUSIC FESTIVAL. YEA WWHAT A GREAT TIME WAS HAD BY ALL!! We had 3 rooms. All very good.mine was on the 6th floor WOW what view of the beach!!!

We loved our stay here! We stayed four nights, I traveled with family so we had three rooms they were supposed to be efficiency rooms but they didn't have a stove or a larger refrigerator which was kind of an inconvenience , because we had planed to cook our own meals. It did come with a small refrigerator regular coffee pot and a microwave. The staff was wonderful, the rooms were clean, and the view was beautiful,and we felt safe there. We felt very welcomed and at home! However if you are looking for a fancy up to date hotel this is not the place for you. It is a little rundown and outdated, but we plan on staying here every time we visit myrtle beach.

This hotel was horrible, The room wasnot cleaned all the beds were dirty. The pull out couches broke and had food on the bed folded I to the couch. There was trash in the cans. Some substance on the the walls. Then there was absolutely no parking,

The parking is horrible had to look a long time for one . I asked for towels from the cleaning lady she had none Didn't keep swimming pool clean did not smell any chlorine The hot tub worked sometimes over all I won't be back

The room was never touched in 6 days and I requested vacuuming floors and just empty the main trash can. The room is efficient with a nice refrigerator and bed was comfortable. Had to go to office for clean towels but they were readily available. Fantastic River tube ride and pool. Close to beach and Boardwalk promenade. Enjoyed my time in Myrtle Beach for a reasonable price.

It was a wonderful view and very affordable. It could use some updating but overall a great place.

Check in was fast, all staff are extremely nice and helpful. Pools were always clean and well maintained. Room was comfortable and gorgeous view of the ocean. Very pet friendly! Will stay here again!

The rooms were dated but nice and clean. The beds were SO UNCOMFORTABLE!!!! The balcony and unobstructed view of the ocean was amazing. We slept with the balcony door open and enjoyed the ocean all night long. The pools and hot tubs were very nice. We really enjoyed the lazy river. The pool, waterfront balcony and beach access make this place worthy of repeating our stay. Hopefully that one in particular person can have a better attitude for all future guest.

The walls used to have sound proof between the outside and inside, now it is hallow and LOUD! Before once the door was closed you couldnt hear the hallway or even the ocean. Now you hear even the next room like you was in the room with them. The rooms looked clean but needed to be matching at least to the window cover or artwork. So disappointed in how it looked. Housekeeping and front office was GREAT help, nice, and smiled. Those rooms smelled great!

The room we stayed in was nasty with roaches and the staff in the office was very helpful and sweet but the other staff I ran into was rude and ignorant she was standing at the steps as I was trying to walk down the steps with my dog she didn’t move at all so I had to try to walk around her with my dog in hand with a little bit of space I will never go back there again just cause of that stupid girl and the roaches I used to like that motel but not no more they need to get maids who will actually clean the rooms and at least act a little polite towards guests.I get there are guests that are rude , I to deal with the public on a daily basis because my career calls for it, and without guests they will not have a job to hate, or at least that’s the way she came off, disrespectful, rude and the hotel and it’s guests were hell on earth…

One of the worst hotels ive stayed in. Staff are rude and wont help you. The place stunk of smoke. I never order a hotel that you smoke in. Somehow they gave me a room that smelled of smoke. Only 1 elevator worked. Dont stay here.

First the have ceiling fall when someone upstairs took shower soaked everything then they gave us a room on other side dog barked all night someone else played loud music all night bathroom wasn't cleaned Ryun was nasty never again will I stay there ! So traveled bk home no sleep and wouldn't do a refund

Love that its dog friendly and on the boardwalk. All-around great deal for the location. Pro's: AC unit worked well, great view, great price, great location. Potential improvement options: carpet was really dirty and room smelled strong of smoke (but was listed as non smoking). Ultimately, i am not disappointed and would stay again!

The beach front room and balcony were unobstructed. Only had one elevator so it was wait for the elevator or use steps. The room smelt nice and appeared clean although we saw several roaches during our stay. Parking was horrible. Limited parking on hotel property. Parking was across the street and every lot you were lucky if you found parking. Would not stay at this property again.

The beach view had lots of trees in the way. The "indoor" pool and hot tub were very dirty. We did not use any of the pools except the hot tub the first night as it was too cold. The hotel also charged me a $200 pet fee and it was not relayed to me how much it was when I checked in. It was not separated on my bill either.

Was supposed to be non smoking ocean front but somebody screwd up. All in all it was ok. It was quiet and comfortable. Clean. No microwave but fridge. Id stay there again for price if the room I wanted was the one I got. After all it was March!

I will never stay at Bermuda Sands again. The front desk girl that checked me in was rude. I booked an ocean front room with a balcony and after I got there they said they didn’t have any. I was put into the building next to the motel that was an old 2 story and was put on the ground floor with a very limited view. There were no cooking utilities , had to use a napkin to make coffee, no cups plates silverware etc. I tripped on the step up because my foot got caught and landed on my front side on the cement. I have bruised knees and hands, a very sore left arm and shoulder and back injury. Was told they would look into it. This is the first time I have ever written a negative review anywhere. I love Myrtle beach and will keep going but never again at Bermuda Sands.

If you're looking to save a few dollars, this is the place. If I could do it over, Id just spend an extra few dollars to upgrade cleanlienss. My room smelled like cigarettes and unfresh overall. The neighboring room, connected by a inner door was opening their side and a few times I felt unsafe as I treid to sleep. Please note that so called partial veiw balcony is not private. Its the outter porch to get to the room.

We had a 1st floor unit that was on the pier side of the property. The palms blocked our view of the ocean along with a car that parked outside our balconybut the room was clean and we enjoyed our 1 night stay. Parking was full and almost became an issue but we were lucky to find a spot by the office.

This is an older place. We enjoyed the old charm. If you're looking for new this is not but very affordable and enjoyable.

We left a day early due to bugs being in the room (found on one of the beds also, we left immediately after), walls are very thin so we heard kids and dogs all night, had to wait over 30 minutes for maintenance to show up due to no hot water (they came and point out that cold mean hot and hot means cold), one of the TVs didn’t work, beds felt like a box spring and it was trash on the balcony from previous guest.

We wanted the Hot tub but kids took it over, I decided to pay more and I moved up to the 5th floor and I totally love the ocean view, so I stayed in the Balcony. The room needs more up grading, the Door main safety Lock didn't work and I had to kill over 10 Roach Bugs !!!

My daughter and I took a month long vacation and stayed a week here at this location. We had a wonderful stay. First off, the ladies in check-in were great. The room was clean, the beds were the most comfortable beds we’ve EVER slept in, so much so that I’m looking into where to buy one of those mattresses for my own. We loved that it was literally right on the beach and the boardwalk. We enjoyed going to where the SkyWheel is every night without having to drive the car. We will definitely stay here again.

The hotel was dirty, parking was atrocious. Had to park 2 blocks away as it was always full. The other patrons and surrounding areas were sketchy. Door constantly did not work to our room. Housekeeping only if asked. Had to return dirty towels to get clean ones.

Not a really bad place as far as cleanliness but some of the staff however not so friendly great staff and friendly at the desk but other staff God forbid you have to ask for help you get attitude and the pool area smelled horrible smelled like rotten fish I'm guessing from the trash area right at the pool so we didn't use the pool at all during our stay

We had a room with an ocean view and of the strip, which was great. Also, it was a short walk to the beach! However, the cleanliness was lacking. The towels had other people's hair (of all regions) stuck in the material threaded through... The water pressure was low, the air conditioning unit was moldy on the outside, and there were cockroaches in the bathroom after showering. We did not get to check out the pool considering we forgot our bathing suits, but it looked nice with the lazy river, a place to relax and a spot for kids to play. Overall the stay was okay, but, next time we will probably try a different hotel.

It’s like a motel or an inn, very dirty. Smells cigarettes and marijuana especially on the very small elevators. Only 2 elevators with very limited space, dirty, trash cans are over flowing. The room also is dirty, we stayed for 3 days but they never change or give us additional towels, they didn’t clean our room either. Very outdated, old and full of garbage motel. Also the hot tub is nice but dirty, seems like there’s no filter on it and they don’t change the water on it because the sand keeps on filling up inside. Also the aircon on the room smells disgusting, linens looks like wasn’t washed. Parking is at the other side of the street so very not accessible especially we have 2 small kids. The receptionist in the lobby when we checked in was also very rude to everyone checking in, shouted multiple times and lack of patience. Doesn’t explain things, you need to ask her for information and she will answer you back like she doesn’t want to talk. Very bad experience, will never go back to this place. The payment we made is not worth it for the bad moments and experience we had. NEVER BOOK THIS PLACE, GET OUT AND FIND ANOTHER HOTEL THAT IS WORTH IT!!!

The elevator smelled like pee and looked as if it hasn’t been cleaned ever there was so many handprints and looks like poop smear on the elevator door in the walls. Walking through the hallways eye witness multiple people allowing their dogs to just pee on the carpet in the hallway where everybody walks nobody was picking up after their dogs. I almost stepped in dog poop multiple times out in the grass the shower in the bathroom was disgusting. I couldn’t even give my daughter a bath. Great location on the beach. I got a top floor balcony room facing the ocean I was excited for. I walked in and I saw something scatter, I moved the small fridge and a bunch of roaches scattered from underneath. I went to the front desk, both ladies working that night were very helpful, and I got a different room. I walked in, moved the small refrigerator and bugs scattered. That was it, I left.

The second room they moved us to smelled better, but the beds were just as uncomfortable and there was black curly hair all in the “clean” towels. We are all light haired and it’s straight. We felt safe most of the time, and our dog had a place to use the restroom, but no one picked up their dogs’ poop (besides us) so it was nasty. The hot tub had dirty water in it and only worked 1/2 the time. We were told that it was so clogged up with sand and such that it broke down. The driver’s mirror on my car got hit in the parking lot, leaving two very deep scratches and causing it to break away. The property didn’t do anything about it, and they said their security camera person only worked nights and I would be gone before they came in to work. They didn’t care.

I paid for ocean front ocean view and all i got was bushes and cigarettes first floor.

So helpful and good at what they do. Pools was awesome. And help me when I need. Love to come back to see them all like family. Views of the ocean was amazing thank you all so much 🙏

There is a major parking problem. You have to drive around for an hour to find a parking spot. The employees don't care they just say its your problem.

The bed was awlful and the bed spread. The toilet had a screw missing, had to call maintenance, got it fixed. The whole place needs painting. The people in office some were nice. I spilled my tea on my first night ask for bedding they told to come back in a hour, i did didn't have them was told to come back in 30 minutes didn't have themwas told to come back in 15 minutes, didn't have them went back they didn't have them and she got mad and told me to wait so she went to get me some. It was a really good hotel had the 6th floor only thing I can say was the bathtub was really hard to get in but I love the view ocean view.i Will stay there again on my next trip.staff really friendly

There was mold all over the ceiling you pulled out the pull out couch and the bed had mold all over it that you could not even use that bed. Very disgusting parking sucks so bad had to park two blocks away because all the parking was full.

The bed was very bad I felt I was laying on a box spring in stead of a mattress and the tub was very dirty

Now if you are looking for an upscale place.. this is not it.

Easy access to the restaurants and local shopping

The desk staff was rude and dismissive. The housecleaning crew were nice though. The room and surrounding property smelled strongly of weed the entire 4 days I was there. The pool was almost brown in color so was unusable. I lived the access to the boardwalk but I did not feel safe after 9 pm.

We had to buy a mattress topper for the beds because they hurt our backs so much the first night if we didn’t we wouldn’t have been able to stay another night. The bathroom was not clean.

We stayed there a few days and overall it was not bad. The place could use an update as it was pretty run down. It was clean and our room had a great view and there was plenty of parking.

Small rooms, no laundry service, not told about full payment

Rooms are super tiny, with only full size bed. No place to hang clothes, bathroom counter extremely low, bathroom moldy. Not even a single chair in the room or out by the pool. There is only 1 table poolside and only lounge chairs. No umbrellas for shade! Elevators are filthy and smell terrible. Would never go back.

Affordable place to stay with easy access to the beach. Room is spacious and clean. But if you need anything additional get it early. We went to the front for extra pillows because ours were flat. Only to be told they couldn't help us.

Direct on the beach..good value for the money

The staff is wonderful, spacious double-bedded rooms, great wifi access, easy climate controlled, a 30 second walk to the beach and boadwalk, great pool and lazy river that stays open late. Overall we recommend this hotel to any out of towners on vacation.

Overall the room was perfect for location and price! Few minor hiccups like clogged toilet, but staff was very attentive and fixed the issue quickly! Definitely would stay again!

Our stay was great some things could use an upgrade but overall it was just fine. No bugs and pet friendly. My kids loved the pools and there was a lot to do near by also!!

Pool área/ lazy river/ jacuzzi had overflowing garbage cans, there was cigarette buds by the pool area and some Lounging chairs were broken. However, my room was clean and spacious and the staff was friendly and helpful

This property is accessible to the beach and for walking, the room is small acceptable but the mattresses need to be changed, in the hallways and stairs there is dirt and garbage

Enjoyed our stay, on the beach, easy access to everything. Parking is a nightmare. Rooms don’t get cleaned or fresh towels unless asked or go get yourself from lobby. Will pick up trash if set outside the room door. All in all it’s a nice place with pool and lazy river.

They staff was absolutely wonderful. The only thing I had issue with was the parking otherwise we enjoyed our stay. Would stay there again.

Never stay here. Shame on Expedia for not vetting these places. Uninterested staff, hardly any parking, dirty. No one seems to care , the place is neglected in a prime piece of real estate. I will no longer trust Expedia

The towels were not clean, the whole room smelled of mold. It didn’t seem like the floors were vacuumed in weeks. The front staff smelled of weed, as did the entire hotel. We also encountered an issue with a man outside the hotel room walking around with a gun in his hand.

Great stay for the price. Room could use some upgrades , my room could have used a new comforter. But overall i would stay again for the price. I gave 5/5 because it was good for the price and in a good location. Actually better than expected. Staff was friendly. I did not see any bugs at all.

Very convenient access to beach and nearby attractions. Just outdated and can use obvious and inexpensive upgrades.

Mold in the shower . Still had dirty laundry in the bathroom. Both beds was wet . And then they canceled my first reservation saying that I didn’t pay and had to show them where I did . I checked in at 8am walked up to my room checked everything and then called downstairs for them to clean . I left to handle family members out came back around midnight and my room was not cleaned and they didn’t give a refund saying I used the room and I wasn’t even there other then to put my one bag of clothes in there. Had to contact Expedia for them to help me get my refund. I’m currently still waiting for that . This place is a disaster for anyone who is allergic to mold . And I also forgot about the ac in my room ! It didn’t work its summer time and running about 100 degrees outside ac is very important!!!

Don't think the room was the actual room we were represented to get! Still ain't complaining bc I had a blast and was allowed to check in when we arrived hrs early! Thank you Bermuda Sands!!

I asked for ocean front and we were in the 1st level. Outside they planted tall bushes in front of the balcony. We had no chairs on the balcony. They brought us chairs and when you sit down we couldn’t see anything. Paid ocean front and did not see much at all. Fridge had hair in it, microwave was dirty. Mattress, pillows and bedspread had to be about 30 years old. No iron, hairdryer or even hangers to hang your clothes. Besides the disappointment in our view, the place was just not clean. No chairs to sit outside in the back of the hotel to overlook the beach.

Not as expected

Staff was excellent! Property is right on the beach and in walking distance to quite a few family activity must do's. Check in took a while but that was expected. On Property parking is also public beach parking so you probably won't get a spot near the buildings but they do have parking across and down the street. I had an excellent time here. The only issuse i had were the other guests getting in to arguments with each other and just being unsanitary and disrespectful

THE FRONTdesk staff were terrible. Not accommodating at all. The hotel is run down. We had troubles locking the door. I was bitten by bed bugs, and I killed four roaches. The pool and hot tub were terrible. The hot tubs didn't work, and the pool was over run by unattended dirty Kids. The location was great except your have to park across the street and it's awful to unload you belongings. I would not recommend it for any reason.

Location is perfect, right in front of the beach it was refreshing to wake up to the wave sound, good place for the price nothing fancy but it was clean.
