Sleep Inn Mt. Pleasant - Charleston

I had a delightful stay. Breakfast was beautifully prepared and served by cute Joseph, who welcomed all of us with enthusiasm and pride. A very enjoyable stay.

Well there was a barricade of police and blue lights in the parking lot with suspects screaming at each other. There were I believe 6 police cars blocking the entire entrance and front door area where we were supposed to get our luggage out. When I went in, I asked the staff what was happening and that I was worried staying there. She said "oh, you're safe here." She gave me the clear look that she was inconvenienced that I even asked. SERIOUSLY.... cops everywhere, blue lights everywhere and people screaming in the parking lot. Entire lot blocked for a LONG time. Not an "I'm sorry for the inconvenience, I appreciate your patience, I'm sorry you had to walk from the other end of the parking lot (that you had to enter BACKWARDS in your car) with your luggage THROUGH the screaming suspects and police to even get to the door". Nothing. Once in the room, it was fine except the shower was awful. The shower door closed in with hinges that were worn out and molded. The hinges were so worn that you had to hold the glass door out when showering because it closed too far and into the shower. The door had no seal around it and about an inch gap around the sides so that water ran all over the bathroom during shower. Not to mention the fact that the water remained scalding hot during my shower even after turning it all the way to cold and waiting ten minutes. Then I was in the shower 15 minutes so it should've had time to cool off. Seriously, so hot. My daughter got in after me and by the time she got in it had cooled some but wow. We came in and out the entrance about 4 or 5 times during our one night stay. Not once, even once, were we greeted by the folks at the desk. The lady on night shift remained on the phone gossiping with friends while we came in and out twice (forgot something in the car) and never even said a single word to us. Definitely not friendly. This hotel got 4 stars on your Booking.com site and I based my choice on that.

Angelia was wonderful @ check in And the staff is always cordial. The rooms are nicely cleaned. The location is super to enjoy a bridge walk! We will be back.

Good location in Mt Pleasant and the room was completely sufficient for the price paid. Everything went smoothly and I would stay here again.

There was a pretty bad smell, like human body odor, around the sink that seemed to appear every 20 minutes. The hotel should shampoo the carpets in that area.

Keep staying here at least once a year for the last 10 years. It’s gotten much better.

I did not like how difficult the toilet was to flush. Instead of just pressing the button and it flushing, you had to press and hold (I forgot to mention this to the front desk as I was leaving). I also hated that ALL of the pillows were feather pillows which are horrible if one needs a firm pillow in order to sleep. I liked the shampoo and conditioner, but there was neither body wash nor liquid soap (I brought my own, but if you provide shampoo and conditioner, body wash should also be provided in my opinion.)

It was like being in a FDA experiment on why we as a nation are so unhealthy so let’s replicate that in a shitty hotel. As ever the staff was kind and friendly which was a soothing balm in an open sore. Someone decent pls buy this property and turn it into something not awful.

The room and central areas were clean, and staff were always working and easily found when something was needed. Staff was friendly (special shout out to Joseph the breakfast room host) and efficient at the check-in desk. Location was perfect and central so perfect for our needs of getting back and forth to Downtown/The Citadel and Isle of Palms and places in between. Parking lot is spacious and during our stay appeared full every night - but again location and easy access off and on the bridge and 17 ensures it’s a popular hotel. Liked that the hotel is pet friendly. Greenery around parking lot needs to be cleared more to give adequate pet walking green space, and more regular collection of all the cans, plastics, and trash people are throwing into the shrubbery and edge of woods is needed. As a popular hotel and a pet friendly one more than a reasonable amount of trash was spotted while walking my dog. Realistically, the parking lot and surrounding grounds needs some recycle and trash bins scattered round on the property, not just one at the back door near the pool, folks don’t seem to be getting their trash that far. First mistake was booking thru Expedia. I chose a room with 2 queen beds and during the final selection a pop up offered a discount. I selected the discount without realizing they changed the room to 2 double beds, they changed it i did not. Did not realize the change until i arrived and checked in and then the hotel clerk could not let me upgrade to 2 queen beds because i booked thru expedia so he could not do anything. A totally ruined vacation. In addition, the hotel is old, rundown and smells. Never again, sticking with known hotel brands and booking directly. You get what you pay for.

The parking lot was the problem, tree canopy caused seasonal stains. We needed to detail the car to get rid of it. The rest of the facility was great..

Parking was as safe as anywhere! The entire experience was great. There needs to be an upgrade in toilet paper!!!!!! Your fingers go right through it leaving your hands a terrible mess.

Breakfast surprising offered scrambled eggs, sausage, grits and more, perfect for the vast majority of patrons. However, for a vegetarian and vegan, there was little to eat.

Walk in shower to slick. My Mother fell, desk clerk called emergency services. She is currently in the ICU after surgery to repair her femur. I stayed 3 nights after her accident. I was never even asked about her condition.

My room (specifically) was next to the utility room (laundry) and vibrated throughout the day. Slightly moldy smell from AC or possibly washing machines...but overall, very nice!

The woman that checking us in put her hand in front of my face and was rude when I told her I did not rent a room that was included me having a pet and handicapped. I told her I wanted no pet room or handicap. She gave us a room with 2 double beds. The morning crew was pleasant and helpful including the man hosting breakfast. The location is very convenient to downtown Charleston. Room is clean. WIFI was never work during my 2 days stay.

I love the fact that the hotel’s location is so quiet but so easily accessible to everything Charleston has to offer. It’s my “go to” when I’m in Charleston.

Joey, worked the breakfast room and he was just a delight. Never had to ask for anything because he had it ready. Didn't get the room I booked We wanted a king room and we got a room with to full beds.

The staff and food for Breakfast was fantastic. We loved the location for the value of not paying premium to stay directly downtown. Getting there was a breeze and we stopped by the waterfront parks on the way.

Bed was small but comfortable enough and seemed clean. Desk agent was unfriendly. Shower was dirty with old stickers on the floor and huge crack in the wall. Outside was super dusty and leaves everywhere. SUPER loud. Can hear everything outside the door.

Everything about the hotel met our needs. Will be rebooking.

Hotel was very clean & staff very friendlly & caring. Yes it could use an update. Everything in our room worked well. Bathroom was small but served its purpose. It reminds us of a throw back to the 70s-80s. Just needs a major refresh. Feel it was a bit over-priced, but their brrakfast that was included was very nice. Lots of choices both hot & cold items. All in all was a great experience.

I drove down 12 hrs and needed to extend my stay and the manager was very kind to extend out stay. Really took off the stress.

The place is located in the perfect spot for quick access to the Ravenel Bridge, the park, restaurants in Mount Pleasant. The best thing about the hotel are the people. I was there for a family emergency and the staff consistently inquired about how my son was doing. They couldn't have been kinder.

Loved that they had an elevator, we were on the 3rd flr. Loved the cleanliness, well maintained, Maribelle was delightful! As well as the gentleman making breakfast this morning, enjoyed visiting with him!!! Great place to stay, close to everything!!!

The a/c in our room was either freezing or burning hot. The bed was extremely unbearable and the room stunk like a wet smokey bar. Desk service was fair but didnt go out of way. The rooms only clean every 3 days and trash cans alway over full.

This was our second stay at this hotel and we were very disappointed this time. It smelled like mold when we walked into our room and then we saw that the rug underneath the air conditioner was soaked. There was also water in the bathroom when we walked in - which was at 12:30am. We won't stay here again.

Even though I had email and app confirmation of the 1 night stay, showed them both to the employee, they had no room reserved. It took about 20 minutes to check in. Since an employee at the hotel initially recommended Page's to us, we will stay here during future visits, as we eat our way through Page's menu lol.

Desk welcomed us quickly and the man knew we were running late and did so well to get us through. Start yo finish top notch. I slept well with the bed and pillows. I am choosy and these were very comfortable and the air conditioning was crispy 👌 i would stay again and it was convenient to the beach and the concert we went to see in Charleston. In all it was a good stay. You can tell the hotel was lived in, the carpets may need to be replaced. I think you could probably do a better breakfast. On our third and final night I killed a cockroach that was crawling on the table with the tv on it. That made my last night a little uncomfortable.

In all it was a good stay. You can tell the hotel was lived in, the carpets may need to be replaced. I think you could probably do a better breakfast. On our third and final night I killed a cockroach that was crawling on the table with the tv on it. That made my last night a little uncomfortable.

Spent the weekend in Charleston and loved the property. Staff was amazing. Room was clean and comfortable. Will definitely be staying here again on our next trip.

While there was nothing glaringly awful about staying at this hotel, there really wasn't anything good either. Very so-so. My biggest gripe was the room we were put in was at the end of the hall. The room itself was ok, air was cold. Directly outside the door was also the door to the stairs that were used quite frequently all night long. The door was not quiet. Sometimes other guests would slam it. Really not fun to awakened multiple times at night for this. The window was covered in moisture in the morning but the view was of a tree and overgrown plantlife so I guess that didn't matter, right? Breakfast was meh. Not a lot of choices other than carb heavy processed foods. Only oranges, no bananas. Coffee nook was so small along with the cups that were more like shots of coffee. For being one of the lower price hotels in Mt Pleasant, I guess it was worth it. Will I book with another Sleep Inn or Choice Brand Hotel, probably not. This hotel is in need of a serious update. Elevator was sketchy sounding. Doors slam. Poor overall noise control.

We were in the area for an MUSC visit. The hotel is very close to Patriots Point, MUSC, and other Mt Pleasant/Charleston highlights and is The price for the room was good. The breakfast area was small and breakfast items were limited, but the choices were good.

Service was very good, breakfast was well done and the ladies working there were very helpful. Room was clean and well stocked. Some damage noted in the shower but nothing crazy to speak of. Noted that Body Lotion was placed in shower instead of conditioner which was an interesting choice. Overall it was a very nice stay and would stay again.

The parking is just awful. Not enough spaces. Large trucks taking multiple spots. So parking found only at the far end of the dark parking lot, Right next to the swamp!

Had an issue with our room and the manager took care of it quickly. Overall, friendly staff and conveniently located to all points of interest in the Charleston area.

Was a smoke free room smelt like smoke . The front desk was rude when we mentioned what the issue was . Will not stay here again .

The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful no matter the request. The hotel was clean and served a wonderful breakfast each morning. Very convenient location within reach of downtown.

The best I can share is the black woman at the front desk was very nice and helpful. We experienced a little issue and she was right on it right away. She took our concerns and made it hers. Each day she checked on us and she remembered our name. That customer service goes a long way with us. We stayed at close to a hundred hotels over the years and you definitely recognize good service. Based on that i can say that we enjoyed our stay. She and the staff and managers who contributed, we tell them thank you once again.

Shower pressure was poor. Overall was decent, ed was hard, pillows too soft, average experience.

It is an excellent money/value/distance place to visit Patriots Point and the city center. Really great hotel.

It was an okay place to stay. The staff is very nice and the room was clean. I wasn't a fan of the biscuits, sausage patties and eggs for breakfast but they provide plenty of alternatives.

Sleep Inn, mount pleasant, close to everything, minutes to downtown. The staff at check in were friendly, housekeeping asked if we needed anything on the second day. Basic hotel but great price for location!

What started as a 4 night trip turned into a 6 night tri because of a usual and history making snowstorm in the Low Country. The staff were ver accommodating in extending our stay, providing service. Only complaint is that there was no effort to clear the sidewalks from the handicap spaces to the lobby

Clean until I tried to microwave food and there was moldy pizza inside of it. I went to the front desk was given an option of switching rooms but we were already settled in. Front desk staff assisted with discarding the moldy pizza. Breakfast options could be better.

We thought the breakfast could be better. We stayed at a Sleep Inn the night before in Virginia is and the breakfast was much better - more variety. Otherwise, room and lobby and staff were fine, thank you.

Our stay was just what we needed. Clean, comfortable and safe. Great breakfast.

Overall it was a decent day however I wasn’t able to sleep in and rest at the sleep in! L O L lots of loud surrounding guests constantly opening and slamming the doors at all hours people in the hallway talking loudly Larry cell phones music maybe that’s just the way it is these days.

Clean room, and everything was in good repair. The breakfast wasn’t gourmet but it was adequate and filling. Parking lot was poorly lit at night, however. Overall, a good value for the money. Worth noting that the pool closes after Halloween and there is no gym on site, despite whatever the website may say.

My flight arrived late and the person on the night shift was very helpful. My stay there served its purpose. I wish they supplied shower caps. The room was nice with a comfortable bed. The shower door in my room didn't close correctly so it leaked on the bathroom floor.

Ruined the day we ate breakfast, skipped breakfast on remaining days. Don't stay here if you want breakfast. Do stay here otherwise.

Upon checkout the front desk was too busy to take my keys and give me a receipt although no one else was at the desk.

Good pricing, but amenities were deficient: non-working television, no cold water in bathroom, non-working telephone. Vending machine had no bottled cold water.

The buffet seemed to end at least 1/2 hour early daily. The staff sitting in the dining area waitin for people to leave and not putting out more food. There were only 7 channels available my entire stay, none of which were entertaining to me like. Staff said cable company was working on it. Overall was not satisfied for my short trip away.

It was a place to stay but has many issues from the staff to the rooms. Our bathroom had 3 bugs & the shower door was not installed properly & flooded the bathroom. With Choice Hotels policies, we had to search for towels. Charged me more than Expedia stated. WILL NEVER STAY AGAIN IN ANY CHOICE HOTEL ACCROSS THE STATES!!!

Hotel is just . . below average for the price point. Place isn’t terrible, but it’s not great either. Staff not particularly welcoming or professional. Building and rooms feel neglected and dated, particularly the shower. Beds were decent, linens were clean - that’s about the highest compliment I can give.

We have stayed at nearby "Budget" hotels over the past several months and those have gone downhill. We tried Sleep Inn for a change and were pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean and well appointed. Staff was very helpful. Room was quite and upgrade for us. The hot breakfast (scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, grits, oatmeal, fruit, etc) was a wonderful treat. Even the dollys to carry your luggage from the parking lot was a nice touch. The bed was a bit firm for our taste, I'm sure it would be fine for others. Loved the round shower stall. Overall, a great place to stay, for the price point.

Room was clean but small. Not informed at time of checkin that tv/cable service was out of order. Morning breakfast service was good.

This hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable but the tv was terrible they only get like 5 channels and the room bathroom was ridiculously tiny. There is no fitness center. Definitely no frills. Definitely would not rush back but the staff was friendly and the place was clean. Ok in a pinch.

We were there for a soccer tournament so only stayed one night. It was very quiet which was so nice and the beds were comfortable. Very clean and did I mention it was nice and quiet at night.
