I marked terrible on everything because when we arrived there was no one at the front desk and even the front desk area and coffee service area was really dirty. We waited for almost half an hour. We even called while standing there and heard the phone ringing but no one answered. So we left and ended up going to another hotel nearby. We never did check in and called back trying to get a refund and still couldn't get an answer.

The room was dirty, there was hair in the shower and on the pillow cases. The pictures of the rooms listed did not match what it actually looked like. There was also a smell in the room, not sure from what. Wouldn’t recommend at all. Over priced for what it is.
- 2/5
Staff was very friendly. Rooms were dirty. Comforters still had food stains on them. We checked in Friday morning for two nights. Slept there Friday. Drove home Saturday night because we did not want to stay another night in the hotel. Had 3 rooms.

Not the best experience but you get what you pay for.

The room wasn't bad. It just doesnt smell good. Its smells like mildew and cigarettes smoke. The bathroom shower was also not the cleanest

There’s actually nothing I didn’t like about the red roof in Mount Pleasant. There was a mole in the bathroom. They’re also bugs which I will show in video later. There were only one gentleman that was OK on staff. If I remember his name, he was actually a pretty cool but the rest very unprofessional.

What amenities? No coffee pot in room or refrigerator. Were they in premium rooms? Staff was fine but buildings need an upgrade.

Guys have some respect to your guests, especially with kids, this thing was filthy. Customer service was great.

It took us less than 5min to check in and check out as soon as we saw that DISGUSTING

This hotel has gone far downhill! No service of any kind, no towels, no toilet paper, all garbages outside were full and over flowing. Limited staff they had was rude. I was told the were no clean towels available. Garbage all over the pool for 3 straight days and no pool towels. This hotel used to be okay for a couple days but now it has no maintenance and no cleaning and no one to ever answer the phone. In addition, they still have not refunded my deposit. I've called the hotel multiple times and they do not answer the hotel so now I've had to go through corporate just to get my $53.27 back after 10 days. Still not received the deposit. I will never stay here again.

The room was excessively damp. The towels were damp and already wet, my clothes were damp same as the bedding. The head board had so much dust I was able to write the date with my finger. The noise from guests in the parking lot was heard late into the night. Won't stay there ever again.

We have gone to this same Hotel for about the past 7 years once a year! It was decent in the beginning but has went down every year since! We just stayed again (for our last time) we have a family of 4! They only put 2 towels in the room! We had to ask for more towels! Only had 1 roll of toilet paper, we had to go ask for more! When I ask for towels everytime they cop an attitude because you want more or need more! They don’t wanna give you more! It didn’t come with any little bars of soap, no little lotions no plastic cups to rinse your mouth out , no coffee pot, no extra trash bags for the small trash can, the bathroom door wouldn’t close, the towel rack above the toilet was falling off, stains on the carpet, the AC unit we put on 66 and on high the whole week we were there and it wouldn’t cool the room off and we had to buy a box fan at Walmart to keep us cool! And THE MICROWAVE!!! I opened it and evidently they don’t clean the inside of it! It was so disgusting and caked food all over the inside of it! We couldn’t or wouldn’t heat anything up in it! The list goes on….. take my advice don’t stay here!!! If you want something cheap just to sleep then go for it! But we give it a 2 out of 10

The room was very dirty, there was a leftover pork chop in the room, the carpet was not vacuumed in a long time and had crumbs and dirt everywhere. There were crumbs and dirt inside of all of the drawers and the bathroom was dirty. The whole room smelled like cigarette smoke even though it was non smoking.

I walked in lobby and there was an odor. The staff was friendly, but slightly unprofessional professional. Walked into the room and realized it was similar to a Comfort/Days Inn. The rooms are clean, but I still felt like I was I was in a motel not a hotel.

Red Roof Plus at Patriots Point is my go to hotel when I’m in the Charleston area. Its location, value, and cleanliness is perfect. Does it have the amenities of a luxury hotel? No, but most folks use a hotel room for nothing more than a place to sleep comfortably and to bathe and this place fits the bill perfectly.
- 3.5/5

This was not our kind of place. Rooms were ok clean. We ended up not having a pet with us but for a pet hotel ok. A/c did not work properly in either room we were in. Floors were filthy in both rooms. Staff rude unless manager in office. Good location to many attractions. We do not recommend staying here.
- 1.5/5
Property was easy to find and staff were friendly. Still haven’t received a refund for the room deposit. Room was near to stairs which meant that we heard every movement.
- 3/5
Everything was real good except the AC unit didn't keep the room cool until the early morning hours. Other than that it was good. Had issues with room 151 key pad not working but that wasn't a big deal. If you stay there don't go near the fence where the mulberry trees are or you'll track them into your room. They'll stain the floor but very easy to wipe/mop up.
- 4/5
It will do in a pinch. Wasnt awful staff was pleasing.
- 3/5
Very dated, room was okay, front desk staff was pleasant. No housekeeping during three night stay.
- 2/5
Everything felt sticky when in the room due to the humidity, caused by faulty ac. It was basically a fan to blow air
- 2/5
Perhaps make some of the rooms pet stay ONLY instead of allowing wherever in the building. My room smelled like a dog. I’m not, but maybe take into account that some people are actually allergic to pets and pre-cleaning doesn’t exactly take care of that.
- 1/5
Upon arrival, I had to immediately request a room change because the first room I was assigned had not been cleaned at all. While I appreciated being moved, the second room still did not meet basic cleanliness standards. Throughout my stay, I woke up each morning with bug bites, which raised serious concerns about the condition of the room and made it difficult to rest. Between the initial room issue and the ongoing concerns in the second room, this stay fell far below basic expectations. Given the circumstances, I do not feel that the stay met acceptable health and cleanliness standards, and it significantly impacted my ability to comfortably complete my trip. I am sharing this feedback in hopes that it is taken seriously and addressed. I would also appreciate assistance in reviewing this stay, as I do not feel the experience reflects the value or standard that was advertised. I would not recommend this property based on my experience.

There's free coffee in the office. The staff seemed pleasant. The room, while a bit shabby, was clean and the pillows were good. No complaints there! The public areas were not at all clean, especially the stairwells. The trash bins overflowed, and the stairwells smelled of cigarette smoke. (I didn't use the pool area, so I have no idea. It looked clean from a distance). The electronic lock on my room worked intermittently, often requiring 5 to ten insertions before showing up green. This could be a safety concern

False advertising- no premium rooms. No breakfast, no coffee in room, room were not cleaned before our arrival.

We don’t end up with the room we booked, because we “used a third party booking service”, which fair enough. Then the room we ended up in had terrible AC, outlets didn’t work, and the tv didn’t work either.

Everything is over the top

They allow dogs and there was a large dog barking incessantly most of the day.

We were so sorry we had to stay here. We couldn't even get into the door of the room. A staff member had to use their shoulder to push it open. She said let her know if any issues cause a maid told her she didn't do everything she was supposed to. Once you walked in the room, it made such loud sticky sounds everytime you walked on it. The comforter had dark yellow stains underneath of the top. There was no soap or shampoo at all. It smelled terrible. We were so disappointed we had to stay here & we'll never stay at a red roof in again!
- 4/5
parking was nice and great location

We always stay in Mt Pleasant due to central location to IOP, Folly and Downtown Charleston. Location was best part.
- 2/5
Though non-smoking now, it was clearly used for smoking for years. The room smelled badly of cigarettes, and the humidity from the bathroom caused old smoke accumulation to drip and streak down the door. Also past 10pm, staff were rolling very loud laundry carts past our room (unfortunately located near the laundry facilities). Front desk employee was very polite and checkin was easy. Location was perfect for our needs, though we will not stay here again mostly because of the old smoke smell.

Room was dirty at check in, floor and bath tub had hair in and on it. Bed spread soiled. Sheets looked clean but not blankets, was there a week and room had not received service, had to locate staff to obtain fresh towels and toilet paper. Asked for an iron and was told our room did not meet those requirements, when toilet backed up called for maintenance and he brought me a plunger and left. Could hardly reach front office.
- 1/5
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! We went to our room and was absolutely disgusting. THIS PLACE HAS BED BUGS. We were in the room for 5-10 minutes max and found bed bugs crawling on us after we left. Floors were nasty hadn’t been cleaned, was dirt or feces on the floor. Found what appeared to be blood in a couple spots of the room. Carpets hadn’t been vacuumed and were covered in dirt. A bunch of hair in the shower and toilet paper roll hadn’t been changed. Mold on the ceilings of the room. We booked another hotel immediately and left didn’t even bring our stuff in.

No coffee pot in the rooms. Barely any at the office, which was filthy. Only one tiny shampoo sample bottle and one tiny piece of soap. Outlets didn't work at the bedside stand. The refridge didn't work. We were surprised with an additional charge upon checkin for "a charge for the safe" $59.00 Supposedly refunded upon departure.... we'll see.
- 3/5
The property is kept up nicely. I thought our room was going to have a microwave and refrigerator. The ac was nice and cold. The bed and bathroom were clean, but the floors were very dirty, turning our socks black. We liked the location. I would say that, for the price, it could’ve been a little better. We would rather spend $25 a night more for a different hotel that offered more amenities.

There is no coffee pot in the room -walked all the way to the office for coffee & they were "out"- no housekeeping unless you actually REQUEST it - wasnt informed of this - since I booked thru Expedia, I had to pay a security deposit! hopefully will get that back - we were put next to the pool, the 1st night was a really loud "party" with very loud music & screaming kids - the tv didn't work all functions with the remote, had to use the buttons on the backside of the tv to turn it on/off & volume - the room was clean, but furnitue was shabby - not a good experience - will never stay there again
- 4/5
Yes parking was good. Staff was friendly. Air condition was working well. The building was just kind of run down.
- 2/5
The AC worked but was very loud. Our bathroom door was off of the top rust hinge so we had to lift the door in order to shut it completely. It was very disappointing.
- 5/5
The staff was great. We had an issue with our air conditioner not working properly. They were immediately very accommodating and changed us to another room.
- 3/5
Okay overall, no breakfast and nothing special. A bit over priced for the kind of hotel it is.
- 1/5
Unfortunately we were very disappointed in our stay. We checked in around 10 pm and were told we could not get an extra blanket or pillow because housekeeping was gone and the clerk was not able to get the items for us. The tool was decently clean until we found a bug on our pillow, a hole in the wall that made us uncomfortable so I had to stuff tissue paper in it, the toilet seat came off and a picture fell off the wall at 5 am and scared us to death. There was also a sketchy man standing by the dumpster drinking beer and talking loudly on his cell phone for several hours. The staff was super friendly. We will not be staying again.
- 1/5
I booked 2 rooms for my family and I to stay while we attend my mother's funeral. The grounds were clean, however, the rooms were not. One room had a slept in bed, and a half eaten corndog on the desk. Someone's underwear was in the other room, and there was a foul smell. The coffee maker had a used K-cup in it as well as mold spores. There was not ample face cloths and bath towels. The floors were dirty in both rooms. When I checked out, one female was wearing a bonnet. This was not a pleasure trip, but at least this motel could have made our stay a little more comfortable. The rooms looked nothing like the one in the picture. For lodging located in Mt. Pleasant, this was piss poor. I give this Red Roof zero stars.
- 1/5
I want my money back immediately much more experience we paid for a room for 3 people came 2 beds and they gave us a single bed, we came with a 7-year-old boy and I am in a state of pregnancy and we slept very uncomfortable, apart from the beds were dirty like urine, the bathroom door also had like drops of urine, the truth we made the reservation a long time in advance so that they would leave us with another type of accommodation, and the untidying of the room is unacceptable, they did not inform us that if we needed cleaning we should have warned a day before that they should have reported at the time of entering the hotel, the room smelled ugly, in short terrible experience and above all I paid for another type of accommodation they hosted us in room 141 and it is of a single bed, I want my money back please
- 2/5
Our initial room was covered in mystery hair. It was all over the sheets, in the floor and dressers. We brought this up to staff and immediately we were able to get a new room, no questions asked which was fantastic. The new room did not have many issues, there was just a foul smell coming from surrounding rooms that made its way into ours. It was not very soundproof either, we could hear neighboring rooms and their TVs, as well as cars revving their engines late at night

The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. The room was less than ideal. There were holes in the curtains, sticky spots on the flooring. The bathroom door had dried stains.
- 4/5
Location and evening girl that checked us in. No liner for ice bucket but it wasn't a big deal so we didn't go get one. We just did without.
- 4/5
Staff were very curtious & helpful. Room was clean, entry door was a bit tricky…lift the handle up. Had a dog barking next door. Not Red Roofs fault. I’d stay again for the price.

Staff friendly and easy check in and out
- 4/5
The laundry service was a coin operated washer and dryer with no change machine or detergent sales. The wifi kinda sucks. Bad. The staff are okay. They don't bother you and they're understanding if you're late to pay. No ethernet, tv is outdated but overall 6.5/10; 7.5/11

I come here once a year for work and always stay here and it’s usually a good stay but this time it was subar, the tv did not work Saturday afternoon/evening and we were told it was the weather, it was just raining, there was no luggage rack or table so we had to put everything on the floor, the plug/charging block that is usually in the nightstand was missing so we have to move it just to get to the plug behind it. But during check in the man at th desk was very nice and moved us to a downstairs room I just think the upkeep of the hotel is getting away from them so I’ll probabaly find different accommodations from now on

I arrived to the property, front desk staff was super friendly and were able to accomodote for me to get a room on the first floor. However upon inspecting my room I was completely dissapointed. There was what appeared to be pubic/beard hair in the bathtub, also attached to the bathmat and multiple on the handle of the hair dryer.I was able to get my room switched out but then noticed there was no shower curtain.Needless to sat would probably avoid booking any stay with this hotel in the future.

I do not recommend this hotel. It was dirty. The parking lot was dirty. The sidewalk was dirty. The glass window to my room was dirty. It had fingerprints like kids had been climbing in it. The floor in my room had a puddle in front of the refrigerator and the curtains were broken and disgustingly dirty. I had to call maintenance. It’s up to repair those issues. I took the top covers off of the bed and threw them in the floor because they had stains of something. I don’t know what in them the bathtub was stained. I think people are living in this hotel because there was a lot of people bringing in groceries and vacuuming their car in the parking lot and just randomness. It is also across the street from a closed rundown gas station and a closed rundown hotel. Yes they have coffee in the lobby, but it was the table that had the coffee on it was even dirty and disgusting. The staff were almost sleeping behind the desk. A true nightmare. Upon entering my room I noticed a strong chemical odor and my lungs immediately began burning, I was coughing uncontrollably and gasping for breath; I quickly left the room and returned to the office, they sent a staff member up and found that a careless staff member had left an ozone machine left on. Ozone is highly toxic and can only be used in unoccupied rooms, its a safety hazard and violation of OSHA standards punishable by fines up to $12,000. I was then kept waiting for more than 30 minutes to get a new room, after changing rooms did not receive housekeeping services for two days, TV inoperative, dirty faucet, used coffee cup left in Keurig machine, control panel on microwave broken. There were no paper coffee cups and when I called to report this I was told "you have to come down and get one yourself". Poor attention to detail by staff, poor customer service; will never stay there again

Walking into the room was disappointing, bags of trash pushed under the stairwells, one room on ground level had trash, a tabletop grill and dirty boots piled up in front of the door. Area inside and out needed a refresh. There were spots all over the walls where touch up painting had been done that was a different sheen than underneath wall shade. It’s just an old building that could be kept up much better. Beds were very comfy and we slept well. But appearance of room and area could be improved. Back fence in parking area was partially knocked down and trashy looking. Just not an appealing presence. Check-in employee was very fun to talk to and the hotel was very close to Patriots Point which was our destination so that was great.

Location was very accessible and quick check in and out. The room was dirty, the carpets hadn't been vacuumed, and there were too many live and dead cockroaches walking around the room and inside the refrigerator.

Person in front desk took to long to sign in and it was so rude there was nothing friendly on him. I won't use it any more.

This is my third time staying here and I will always recommend it. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. We had one issue with noise and the staff resolved it immediately. This is the best place to stay with close proximity to anything you’d want to visit in Charleston. Highly recommend and will definitely stay again! The staff was also super welcoming and friendly! Thank you!

The staff was friendly, professional, and accommodating from check-in through check-out. I especially appreciated how quiet and safe the property felt, which is not always easy to find when traveling. For the price point, this Red Roof Inn exceeded expectations. It offers great value, comfort, and convenience, and I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the Mount Pleasant or Charleston area.

It was close to all the things we were doing. My boyfriend had a heart event, so we ended up leaving a day early so we could see his doctor. The lady at the front ( I don't remember her name) was adamant that because we were 4 minutes past 2, we couldn't get a refund for our next and last day. She refused to ask if there could be an exception made or offer any other suggestions.

The reception staff were all fantastic. I met 3 of them and all of them were friendly, helpful, with huge smiles. Especially the woman who calls me “sugar” - they made me feel so at home there. (Just shed a little tear thinking of her, what a sweet woman, she made me feel so cared for and I can be pretty fussy about cleanliness but she was very patient and kind with me.) Cleanliness left much to be desired. A lot of the rooms smell of smoke pretty badly and could be a lot cleaner. They need to regularly clean and replace the A/C filters and enforce no smoking rules more strictly. Especially with the cleaning staff as I often saw them smoking in the doorways of the hotel rooms.

while the hotel is older in age, the room was neat and clean. Love the motor lodge perspective, where you park right outside your room, very convenient.

What truly sets this hotel apart is the staff, from the friendly and accommodating front desk team to the hardworking housekeeping crew. Their kindness and professionalism made all the difference. Kudos to the Red Roof Inn Plus in Mount Pleasant for giving a single mom and her son a clean, comfortable respite while our home was being repaired from a natural disaster. Your hospitality provided us with much-needed peace of mind during a difficult time.

I made a reservation for a handicap room, instead we were placed in a room without handicap facilities and a long walk to get to the room. the bath room door was mis-alligned and would not close, the floors were very slick. I fell and was on the floor behind the door, my wife could not open the door because I was behind it on the floor. For someone alone, this room is a death trap!

Just an FYI, as the hotel is somewhat dated, but it was clean, it was safe and the price was unbeatable for being at the base of the Ravenel Bridge crossing over into Charleston.

Room has all needed equipment and is close to the parking area. High deposit for the key card at check-in, loud in the backyard because of the evening celebrating workers (guests?) and machine and vehicle noise in the morning from 5am. Grocery 5 min walk, bus station to the Charleston visitor centre in 15 min walking distance, alternatively 10 min drive.

You get charged a safe charge upfront, but if you don't want it charged, You must tell the hotel when you check out you don't want it, seems you could tell them that when you check in, and the front desk looks down on you for booking the room with Expedia.

Right when we walked in to our room, it smelt like pet dander and musk. I tried cancelling our reservation so we could stay elsewhere as the stench was that bad however, we would not have gotten a refund so we toughed it out. I put perfume on my upper lip the first night just so I could get to sleep. I understand that this motel is pet friendly, but if you’re going to be pet friendly, you should ensure that your cleaning staff are able to remove pet dander/smells from rooms. Our keys also stopped working after 2 days and I had to go to the front desk to get a replacement key. No apology for the inconvenience from the front desk staff was given. Honestly none of my interactions with the front desk staff were customer service oriented. When I checked in, there was some guy talking to the front desk lady while she checked me in. He didn’t need help with anything, they were just having a conversation together. When I checked out, the front desk guy was talking to someone on the phone as he checked me out. None of the staff seemed friendly or customer service oriented. This is the first and last time that I will ever stay at a red roof in. We had our AC set to 60 during the entirety of our visit and our room never got below 70. Our “guide” and “Netflix” buttons on our remote did not work. This motel does not do turn down service. Trust me when I say to pay a little extra to stay somewhere nicer!

The employees were very kind, I will say that. I was thankful for the free hot coffee the next morning (although the coffee bar in the main check in area was dirty and I was surprised because it was early), The water pressure was awesome and ac was nice and cold. What me and my children didn’t like was the pubic hair on our toilet, the black ring in our toilet, body hair in the shower, a huge stain on our bedding with dried flakes on it so it wasn’t just stained after washing. There was also a bug in our room and the fridge froze our water, yogurts and soda we were traveling with. We arrived late after a 10 hour drive and I didn’t alarm the front desk staff because I was so tired. I should have because my son had a panic attack from these things and we chose to freeze all night and just use our own little travel blankets we brought from and stripped the beds down to bare sheets. The cost was also $250 and we expected much better quality when booking through Expedia.
- 2/5
Dirty floor, rusty bath tub, very noisy AC -hard to sleep. Lack of counter space, small shelf in bathroom that was about to fall down.
- 3/5
When you’re right next to a NJ Turnpike, your standards should be low. The shower handle came off in my hand when I went to turn it on. Very bizarre not to have a phone in the room to contact the front desk about it.
- 3/5
The rooms were updated sort of...the smell and feel of mildew was horrble and even the sheets were damp. That was our biggest problem.
- 5/5
Very Good
- 5/5
The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We were treated very warmly. They were helpful with places to visit. Only alarming issue was the sign warning about gators and snakes. This was greatly appreciated, though.

First time at a Red Roof, God willing, it'll be the last. I wouldn't recommend it.
- 1/5
No one cleaned the room in the 3 days we stayed there! The room smelt of damp. Staff at reception all unhelpful. Spoke to cleaner and she told us she was too busy but would leave clean towels - would not recommend staying here
- 3/5
The room they gave us key card for wasnt cleaned. They did give us a pick of other rooms tho so wasn't that big of deal. The lady was super sweet. Only weekly cleaning which no big deal but was given a hard time from guy at front desk for asking for extra wash cloths daily and toilet paper. So best bring your own. 😒. Pool was decent. King rooms face a pond with apartments..or double rooms face pool. It's okay for a few days but not a week. We checked out early

The front desk lady was very friendly and helpful. Although English was a second language and she was hard to understand . IThe room was adequate, It smelled good but some dirt on floor every thing else was clean. The safe didn’t work. I was fearful that the plaster on ceiling was going to fall down. The water pressure was excellent in the shower. The pool area was very clean and the pool was very nice. No pool towels were out ,

- 5/5
The Manager provided excellent customer service. Rebecca went above and beyond and exceeded my expectations.
- 2/5
Convenient location but too high priced for dirty slightly rundown room.
- 3/5
I’ve stayed here 10+ years ago and the place was in much better shape and more reasonably priced. Not sure how they think $230 per night is reasonable with plaster falling off the ceiling in the guest rooms. It’s unfortunate, because I previously liked this hotel.
- 2/5
The place can use some MAJOR UPGRADES to live up to the name Red Roof PLUS. Cleanliness is poor. There were little roaches in the bathroom and the room itself. The door doesn't work properly, it's a hit and miss to even open it the first time with the card. The room smells bad, The hallways are dirty and also smell bad. The bathroom door has black stains and molds in the ceiling that were obviously never cleaned and not paid attention to. The towels have hairs and look dingy. The hair dryer is very sticky. I tried to wipe it clean but it's still sticky. The bed was ok, but overall, it wasn't a pleasant stay, especially for 2 nights.
- 2/5
It was not great. Wasn’t well maintained and it was loud. There wasn’t even any coffee or tea in the room! There’s a lot nearby but I would not stay here again.
- 3/5
Hotel room was borderline shabby. Although clean, the fittings in the shower were loose, and the furniture was shotty and poorly maintained.
- 3/5
Bed dirty
- 2/5
Upon checking in we went to drop off our items to find that sheets on the bed were not changed, stains on the sheets. Got another room, it was cleaner but the beds were not comfortable. Place could use updating.
- 3/5
This hotel is fine. Lobby is dark, small and smells. The room served its purpose. It was clean, but old. Liked chipped furniture, no stopper in the sink drain, chair arms worn. For the area, it’s not a nice hotel.
- 3/5
Room was nice but we ha our young son with us and there was no place for changing clothes as the toilet and shower were such a small area We had to have him leave the hotel room while we got dressed
- 2/5
I stayed 3 nights. The floor was sandy/dirty. The bed was never made. I only got fresh towels the first day although I had enough for my stay. The sheets seemed clean.
- 1/5
Room was extremely dirty, as there were hairs in the towels, stains in the shower, and the sink was semi-clogged. You also will smell people smoking in the hallway, and music being played until at least midnight. You do not feel safe walking from the hotel to another area, and I recommend spending a little more to stay somewhere else.
- 2/5
The room smelled like cigarettes. I didn't feel like the room was clean, I felt dirty sleeping there
- 5/5
Huge thank you to Hotels.com for connecting me with a great visit. Props to their hard working staff!
- 5/5
IT WAS A WONDEFUL PLACE TO STAY
- 4/5
I was happy to find a room in this area on a very busy weekend. The worst issue is they have no space to store luggage before check in or after check out. The safe in my room didn't work, and the toilet flush mechanism was very messed up. But overall it was fine for my purposes and not super over priced like everywhere else in that area that was still available last minute. There are a couple of places close enough to walk to eat. If I had more time I would have walked ask the way to Shem Creek, which is about half an hour. Coffee in lobby was decent, but the cups are too tiny.
- 5/5
Thank you for a comfy bed!
- 5/5
Great location . Lots to do nearby. We travel with our dog and red roof is one of the most reliable places to stay with the dog.
- 4/5
Stayed for the weekend of the bridge run and had a great time . Good location to Shems Creek and quick Uber to downtown. Room was clean and comfy. Had some workers that were staying the night at the hotel hanging out in the parking lot taking . Called the front desk around 10 and the night clerk came down and the situation was resolved .
- 2/5
The room was dirty, there was only one set of towels and it was extremely dated. The water in the toilet was brown upon arrival and the toilet makes a very loud scary noise when you flush it. There was unknown white stuff in the drain of the shower and the safe didn't work. The front desk staff was great - professional and friendly. This is a review of the property condition and cleanliness only.
- 3/5
Rooms should have coffee available in room. AC was very loud. TV was inadequeate. Could not connect an hdmi cable to use for working from laptop nor for personal streaming platforms such as Disney and Hulu.
- 2/5
Just stay somewhere else! Too much to mention.
- 1/5
Room had a used drinking glass on the sink and trash can was full of trash when we arrived. We arrived at 6:00 pm and were placed in the back of the motel next to a room with obvious long term tenants from a tree service. Filthy pans outside their room and trash everywhere. Highly encourage anyone to defer from ever staying here.
- 5/5
The only problem is if your GPS is not working, the motel is difficult to find.
- 2/5
Room wasn't ready for an hour and not thoroughly cleaned.
- 5/5
Great property. Location cleanliness staff pets ....all so good.....
- 4/5
Fair price. Nothing special.
- 3/5
The Air conditioner would not go below 74 degrees. Price was good compared to the other options in the area but really needed that AC.
- 4/5
I had to show the manager my hotels.com receipt to get her to charge me what I was told it would be. Finally she did but neither her nor the front desk employee seemed to want to do it.
- 2/5
You open the door and it smells like wet dog. if you take your shoes and socks off and walk on the floor for a few minutes the soles of your feet turn black. The sheets and pillows felt damp. The chairs belong in a dumpster. Happily, there were no roaches to be seen, but, regrettably the carpet under the bed was the same color as a Palmetto bug so they would’ve been hard to see.
- 3/5
Basic room. Clean, bed comfortable. Many restaurants and bars in the vicinity. Short ride to Charleston.
- 1/5
Second issue the heating unit in the room 136 was throwing out cold air no matter what setting you put it on we were looking for heat and it was just loud and blowing cold air. I reported that as well spoke to the front office two or three times on the heating system Overall, my three day stay at the Red Roof Inn was not enjoyable at all.! Paul H. Isherwood
- 5/5
good place to stay
- 5/5
Loved my stay - very friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. Love the area too, close to the city yet very tucked in. Highly recommend!
- 3/5
Picture a motel room from any movie or TV show, and that's what this was. Overall the room was clean, although there was a weird colorful stain in the tub. It looked permanent, but still should be taken care of. There was no drain stopper, and we didn't feel comfortable using the shower. I'm sure they would have switched uz to another room if we would have asked. The dead bolt on the door didn't work. The maintenance guy said they were waiting to get new hardware. Didn't use the pool, but it looked okay. It was pretty loud at night.
- 4/5
I have stayed at this property a couple of times enjoy the location the staff is great and dining it opportunities is fantastic
- 5/5
We would stay here again for the cost it was good. Overall very reasonable for the cost. The climate control was ok, and the bed was good enough. No extra amenities.
- 5/5
It was a great and comfortable stay
- 3/5
Room was ok bathtub missing plug so baby couldn't Take a bath. Breakfast was lame cereal and oatmeal
- 2/5
We noticed they had the smoke detector coverd with plastic, the blanket on the bed has cigarette burns all over it, the room smelled real strong of incense, the staff was extremely loud at 7 in the morning keeping us up yelling profanities
- 4/5
Clean, comfortable room at a decent price.

Location and price...

Good place to stay; room was spacious and clean. Front desk personnel were very helpful and friendly; would recommend to others.
- 4/5
It was great!
- 2/5
The bath tub was very dangerous. It was very slippery. The computer chair is broken. I almost fell backwards. I stayed at this hotel about 5 years ago. It has deteriorated a lot since then.
- 2/5
Nice location but for the price not worth it
- 4/5
Looking for a basic room for two night stay. That is what I got, no frills but a clean room in good condition.
- 4/5
Great location, definitely an older hotel, but the price was right and the location was perfect for us. The staff was helpful. We would definitely recommend and stay again.
- 2/5
Roach in bed and sink was filthy
- 5/5
I love the location shopping near walking.Central location 10 mins to Sullivans Island 15 to Isle of Palms, 15 mins to downtown Charleston.
- 4/5
Convenient, clean, a bit worn, hard pillows. Reasonable price. Very difficult to understand the desk agent. No American born.
- 5/5
Everything was fine. The only thing I would have liked is if they would have thrown a couple more k-cups in the basket in the room or had them available at the desk, but that was a minor thing overall.
- 5/5
Nice stay. Clean and pet friendly.

My mother was at MUSC and I stayed here. All was good except when I returned back one evening from hospital I went to front desk asking for a clean towel and the women at desk rudely said you will have to wait until housekeeping comes in at 8 in the morning.
- 3/5
Nice stay. Clean. No hairdryer and a barking dog next door
- 5/5
The hotel was very nice. I stayed in one of the premium rooms, and it was perfect. The bed felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. The location is ideal. Everything you need is right there, and the view of the bridge is beautiful.
- 1/5
Was afraid for my well-being. There were a lot of tenants arguing and knocking at my door. I stayed for 5 nights and my room was only cleaned once. There were a lot of barking dogs. There were bugs in my room. The appliances were rusted, the furnitures were in poor condition with stains.
- 4/5
Staff was nice & helpful. Room was clean, equipped with basic necessities, and everything worked.
- 4/5
We had a room above the pool. Do not recommend if you want quiet. Very noisy where we were located. Pool closes at 10pm however there were guest talking and playing music well into the night past midnight so staff may want to be a little more strict about that. Otherwise fairly clean room with hot water and clean sheets.
- 2/5
Woke up feeling like a slept in a tent, very musty. Black mold on the ceiling.
