Room was very clean. Close to downtown and beaches !

nothing. my room was looking at a wooden fence at the back and has cheap furnitures. Not at the level of the price I paid. I trusted the pictures I saw. Sorry,I do travel a lot and this hotel is at the bottom of the list. I would not go back. I would rather spend a bit more for a better quality. the pictures show a different hotel. It does not look at the Ocean. There is a road, the highway, in front of the hotel. For the price I paid I expected much more. The furnitures in the room are cheap and not good looking. I expected a hotel overlooking the ocean and I got a room looking at a fence at the back. For the amount of money I paid I expected more.

The listing said it had an Ocean View and was a 5 minute walk to the beach. The ocean view was completely blocked by trees and the "walk" to the beach was across a busy highway.

Virtually no ocean view except from the front lobby, and that was obstructed. Sits right on a very busy highway. Very limited parking in the front with difficult in/out access. Staff communication, limited and uninformed. Lots of stairs to navigate even getting in the lobby and all rooms. Nearby properties are less than desirable environment. Spacious, clean room, but amenities more of a motel category. A number of lightbulbs out in the room, bed frame broken and pops loudly, and very large window overlooking the bed with no covering where people walking or driving by could see in, especially at night with lights on.

4/5 rating. This place is absolutely amazing! Only points taken away for is parking lot, very tight and small so if there 2 or more cars it’s hard to get out of. And then the only other point taken away is the balcony, although it is gorgeous views and vibes, anybody can just walk up it so just be cautious and lock the sliding door. The lady in the front was amazing and helpful. The room was super clean and better than the pictures!

This was the cutest place we have stayed. It was across from the beach and right down the road from the town. It has no elevator so keep that in mind. They had coffee, tea and water in the lobby at all times and a Keurig in our room. The property was beautiful and the staff was so nice and accommodating. There are decks out front to enjoy the ocean view. Our room was extremely clean and very nicely decorated. Plenty of parking and a quiet street. We will definitely stay here again.

The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious The interior was old, the Ocean view very limited. One window had condensation. No ice maker in the room even though a sign noted it. Next door was a gas station under construction which was a part of the view. Overall the Ocean View In is very average and with a one night stay of $309.00 completely overpriced

We stayed in the Superior Suite and it was beautiful ! My partner loved it, it was a surprise for him. Bed was comfortable, water was nice and hot, the room was very inviting. The staff was welcoming, I have no complaints. Very safe property. The balcony was beautiful, just wished there were some gates or locks.

The room was very nice. The inn is very close and to the highway so if you are sensitive to noise this may not be the place for you. The decks and views are beautiful.

This is a nice, small inn directly on Highway 1 close to Montara State Beach and the fantastic Devil's Slide paved hiking trail. Our 2nd floor king suite was spacious, pretty decor, very comfortable bedding, a nice seating area, and a big deck with ocean view. Highway 1traffic noise is quite loud if you're out on the deck during the day, but quiet at night. My only complaint with the room was the ceramic bowl sink in the bathroom is poorly designed and too high for washing your face or brushing teeth, and the weird trough faucet splashes all over as soon as you turn it on. Plus the drain was clogged up so it turned into a giant bowl of gray water. That bowl sink and faucet should be replaced with a normal sink and faucet.

New taqueria next door was delish. Bakery also located next door along with a gas station with well stocked convenience item. Not a lot of parking available but did discover more parking along the backside of the inn. Definitely ask staff if you’re having a hard time. Lots of chargers available for those with electric vehicles.

The location was excellent and the staff were fantastic. The rooms themselves are very spacious, and the amenities are fantastic. If I had to nitpick, I’d say the walls may be a bit thin which makes for a bit of noise from other guests.

The views, closer to half moon bay and Pacifica. Clean and staff and house cleaning was great. Comfortable and big room. That anyone could use the staircases up to each deck freely. The bed in superior room is small.

The room was spotless. The staff was excellent! Our only complaints are, it took a very long time for the hot water to come on and the heating system was weird and a little noisy. Otherwise our stay was great!

The fact that you almost share a parking lot with a gas station

Incredible location, walking distance to the beach and a great coffee shop. Comfortable bed and massive room/bathroom space As an FYI, I rarely post negative reviews. This stat was so disappointing ?? I was in a downstairs room and the only one without a balcony. That was unclear in the posting. When I asked the front desk girl if I could switch rooms, it was going to be $100 more for one night even though they only had one other guest. The fridge in the room made noise every time it kicked on and off during the night - I told the front desk person in the morning and she said they knew and she was so sorry. All in all, make sure not to stay in room 9 ?

This was one of the nicest rooms we’ve ever had! Gorgeous decor, very large, dinette and couch and chairs, balcony too! The only cons are road noise and it’s next door to a gas station.

The location is beautiful and close to the beach. My room was clean, cozy, and spacious. No elevator - had to drag my heavy suitcase to the second floor.

Booked as nothing else available near racexwexwere running. Staff stayed late to let us in. Not trying at all. Rooms had mismatched furniture, small towels, low quality sheets and duvets. Very basic.

Nothing This is not beachfront. It is on highway 1 but there is no beach access from the property. You have to drive about a mile or two down the road to get beach access. It is also next door to a gas station mini mart that is open all night it seemed. Very loud location.

We had a large clean room with patio access. The staff was great. This was a large room # 7 with bed and couch. No desk or table/chair to work on. The TV was at right angles to the couch and not comfortable to watch. You could not watch the TV from bed. Suggest you put the TV over the couch and add a small table and chairs.

Outdated and worn. Shower did not work well. Aircon was not displaying temp. Charge stations not working. Traffic noise at mini Mart next door. Right on hwy 1

It was fairly clean and comfortable It was right on the busy main road, no view of the ocean and no place to sit outside unless you pay for the one expensive room they have. It’s right next to a gas station and the lights shine into the room all night because the blinds are cheap and broken.

The staff were friendly. We had the suite which was very spacious, clean the view from the deck was awesome. It was perfect

First off, our Penthouse 3rd floor Oceanview room was excellent, however, the facility and our room fronted the very busy, very noisy (car & truck traffic ) Hwy.1. This issue was not mentioned on the Expedia hotel info. The pictures of the beach access lead us to believe that access was very easy and directly from the facility, even though the comments said it was "nearby". It was across Hwy.1 and there were oceanfront homes between the facility and the ocean. A gas station/convenience store was directly next to the facility. Had we known about the Hwy.1 issue, we would not have stayed there.

Fantastic, quiet location, super quick drive into Moss Beach and HMB. The room was clean and updated and there was even a hotel kitty hanging out in the front to pet in the morning. Only issue was that the salt air made the windows/slider screen hard to open and close. Recommend checking out the cafe next door.

We would have given it five stars but we were awoken to very loud guests above and around us well past the quiet hours of 10pm. We can't report that we got a good night sleep before our flight but that was not due to the bed/room/accommodations. Other than that, we thought a continental breakfast was listed on hotels com but there was only in room coffee. Overall, very close to a five star experience but not quite. If you are looking for views of the water you will only get that from a few of the rooms. This is a great location though if flying in/out of San Francisco.

This place is so special! My fiancé and I got engaged around the area and loved the penthouse room. It was spacious and had everything we needed. We loved the fire, balcony and views.

This is a really amazing property. Book the third floor suite facing the ocean of you can, but all the rooms are spacious and wonderful. The hotel is very clean, and the staff are totally amazing. Great spot!

There are two things that I would suggest be reviewed: 1) there was a wall heater so I turned that on and when we got back after dinner it was very cold in the room. Then we saw a space heater in the room and realized the main heater did not work. It would have been nice to have known that. Actually, this should be fixed. 2) the bathroom towels to be used for the shower we amazingly small and very thin. This was not a pleasure at all and for this type of hotel - I think these towels should be improved upon

Noisy from upstairs guests, you could hear all footsteps and many conversations. Assuming just loud, disrespectful guests as the hotel couldn’t fix. That was our only real complaint.

If you are looking for a cozy getaway look no further and reserve, the place is very quiet and you have lots of options around if you want to visit the beaches nearby there is always something nice to look at.

We had an amazing time and it's a beautiful place. They did switch our room because the heater wasn't working but it also didn't work in the toom they moved us to. A really nice, little place though.

Ocean view is complemented by rusty gas station. I paid extra for ocean view, but only ocean you could see was in the far distance and through tree branches.

With just a few small things it could be so much better! Like, put a real coffee pot in the lobby. Maybe a few snacks, too. Get rid of the towels that have holes in them. Tighten the screws on the doorknobs. Real cups and glasses in the rooms. These are inexpensive, small items that would go a long way in upping their appeal.

Although there is not a lot of options for coffee and other things. Our room was amazing. We had the top floor, when we asked questions on where to go, he was friendly and told us where to see the star fish and just have a good time and food with in a decent time. I really just loved the view and how peaceful it was.

This could be a lovely small inn, but needs much more attention to details. The beds are too hard, the pillows lumpy, and the bath towels way too small and scratchy. Service is impersonal and there is no restaurant or food of any type available. What a shame.

Room #2, overall it was a great. What’s negative about over stay was that the mattress could be changed…it was a bit caved in and the patio blind was unable to close. Price for the room was reasonable so would stay there again.

We treated ourselves to the Ocean View Penthouse, which is very spacious and nicely appointed and does have good ocean views. The view would be even better if the one distorted window were replaced. There's a little frig, microwave, ice maker, and coffee maker (which can also heat water for tea). That's all great. Take your own dishes, cutlery, etc., if you want to eat in the room. One other consideration is there's no elevator and it's 49 steps up to the room, tho if you park in the back or north side then it's only 39 steps. The "fireplace" is electric and not very convincing, so that was disappointing but minor. Just don't picture yourselves cuddling up before a crackling fire. Montara State Beach is a short 10 minute walk away but not a nice one, as part of it is on Highway 1 with no shoulder and vehicles hurtling past. We'll probably drive it next time we go. It's a short drive to the Devil's Slide Trail and that's a good place to walk. There are trails up in the hills behind the Inn as well. We haven't explored those. All in all, we like staying there. This is our second stay.

There's a little frig, microwave, ice maker, and coffee maker (which can also heat water for tea). That's all great. Take your own dishes, cutlery, etc., if you want to eat in the room. One other consideration is there's no elevator and it's 49 steps up to the room, tho if you park in the back or north side then it's only 39 steps. The "fireplace" is electric and not very convincing, so that was disappointing but minor. Just don't picture yourselves cuddling up before a crackling fire. Montara State Beach is a short 10 minute walk away but not a nice one, as part of it is on Highway 1 with no shoulder and vehicles hurtling past. We'll probably drive it next time we go. It's a short drive to the Devil's Slide Trail and that's a good place to walk. There are trails up in the hills behind the Inn as well. We haven't explored those. All in all, we like staying there. This is our second stay.

Just staying for the night, but it's a nice quiet location, well not talking about the PCH, and ocean sounds those just come with starting feet from both. Clean ,good size room with a balcony and ocean view. Got to see the sunset last night, it was pretty awesome. Just bring warm clothes and a blanket it gets windy.

The rooms are spacious and did not disappoint. It was just as seen in the photos. Walking distance from food, gas station, and the beach. The only problem we had was the bed. It is extremely uncomfortable that we were constantly waking up every hour with back pain. :( Other than that this place would have been perfect. I love the set up of the room.

No elevator. The balcony isnt private. The noise from the highway is very loud. There is a gas station next door that is constantly busy and noisy. The view you mostly have is of the canopy over the gas pumps next door.

My room was really nice, modern, and spacious The stained glass window was a nice touch. The bed is memory foam, which is really nice! The staff was helpful and friendly. One bit of advice is to avoid the restaurant right next door. The food is awful and it’s way overpriced. The owner is very difficult to deal with. I would seriously avoid.

I think the torn wicker chairs on the deck should be thrown away and definitely replace with new ones. I would have liked to sit outside and drink some coffee. Also, it would have been nice if a continental breakfast had been offered at the hotel, because the tiny eating place next door was over priced and not upto my standard. Other than that it was very nice.

The staff was very friendly. Room was very large and clean. Area around very noisy since you are right off the road and next to a gas station. The description of oceanview was not very accurate. You share the balcony with the room next door which was odd and not very private. Room overlooks a gas station rooftop then view through trees across the street to ocean.

Excellent location, wonderful staff, and many great restaurant choices. The only reason I'm taking off one star is due to its spotty wifi connection. If the wifi could be upgraded, I'd happily stay here for a month.

The room was big and clean. Couldn't really sleep because the people in the room upstairs seemed to be awake all night. Their footsteps were loud and the next door people were playing their music as well. Not to mention, the cleaning people werw vacuuming at 830am which made it quiet irritating. Personally, I wont stay here again.

Wonderful accommodations! The listing matched the reality very well. I had a great time & would definitely stay there again. My only suggestion is get hooks on the bathroom so there’s somewhere to hang towels.

Nice place - comfortable bed - we were on the ground floor which worked well for us. Otherwise there’s stairs which could be challenging if you have a lot to bring in. It’s right off the highway, so not a lot of places to walk to. Beach nearby is nice to go for a walk, but you need to drive. Beautiful sunsets at the beach.

We love the quaintness of this place and it is walking distance to family. My only complaint is the hot water, it takes forever to get shower water hot and then it goes really cold in the middle of the shower. This is the one thing that would take me elsewhere.

The Penthouse was spacious and the view of the water was so beautiful! I would stay there again. The only thing missing was a free continental breakfast.

I don’t usually give reviews, I have stay in Marriott and Hilton all over the world but this was special. It is my birthday weekend and I love Montana. This is a every special place not just clean and neat but as a contractor new. It is small and quiet. The staff was amazing extremely accommodating. I will be back I would recommend it to anyone who is just looking for a great place on the coast. I would also like to say it’s 20min from my home in San Francisco, so if your looking for just a different world close to home it is perfect.It is also five minutes from the Mosby’s distillery one of the most amazing classic restaurant you ever go to. I thank the staff for a great night.

Very clean, strong Wi-Fi. The view is spectacular. Two things I don't like. 1) Noisy: traffic from HW 1 and the property is next to a gas station. 2) Breakfast: not healthy. No fruits, no toasts, everything provided is full of sugar.

A great little Inn it you want to explore the Coast. Montara State Beach is walking distance and a great beach. Half Moon Bay is very close by and easy to visit. The room was very comfortable and the bed was fabulous.

We did not get to stay at Ocean View Inn because of a road closure that kept up from getting there. The staff member, KB was outstanding and went way above and beyond to help us. Offered to stay at the facility to check us in, helped us find a different route because of road closed, and find us a safe place to stay in another town. We stopped by Ocean View Inn the next day to say thanks. The property is beautiful and I will definitely make a reservation next time I am in the area. Very sweet place. Awesone customer service (a dying art)

The property is an older building that has been remodeled very nicely. It is in highway 1 so very convenient. Our room, a king with sofa bed, was very spacious. We were in the second floor (stairs, no elevator). Whomever had the room above us was walking around all night long, and because it's an older, wood framed building, we heard them clomping around. But we slept well otherwise, and the bed was comfortable. Shower was roomy but hot water came and went. Breakfast was pretty basic, cold cereal and coffee, so we went out instead. Overall, a nice experience.

We were disappointed in the breakfast options, and as guests arrived later in the allotted breakfast time, even those few options were not replenished. For instance, there was no milk for the cold cereal, so a canned chocolate drink (not chocolate milk) was offered as a substitute.

The room is beautiful. The balcony is special.

This is a very nice quiet and small inn. The bed was VERY comfortable. We loved having a nice large balcony with a view. It is a shared balcony but we never saw anyone using it. The room was pretty large and very clean. The only negative which isn’t a big deal is the bathroom sink, it is a bowl type sink and it is too tall, it made it awkward to use. I would definitely stay again.

Front desk disappeared then was annoyed when we called the number regarding locking the sliding door.

Everything is great about this place. The woman at the front desk is extremely kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. The rooms are beautiful. Remember that not all of the rooms have an ocean view even though that is the name. As long as you reserve that kind of room if that is important, then all will be OK. The breakfast is also very nice.

The car noise was loud & nonstop, ruined being outside. Front desk not staffed most of the time. Breakfast was good.

Note there is no elevator. Not an issue for us but could be for some.

Highway 1 right out front so traffic was loud. Rooms share a balcony so drunks were outside window at 2AM. Cut my hand on a piece of broken glass that was on bed when I got there.

Check in was quick and easy. The hotel was quaint and sweet. Was a plus there was no little kids running around. Breakfast was simple and perfect.

Room 6 was perfect! Dina at the front desk was friendly and helpful. We loved the view from our room and the deck. There is a gas station next door but you are on the second floor so it was not a bother. The view is sideways - rather than full on since there are trees across the street. This hotel is close to everything - many beaches, hiking trails, and SFO.

Our room was large, clean and comfortable with a nice sitting area. Plenty of towels and pillows. We liked having a good view of the ocean. (Wished there wasn't a gas station next door.) We are sensitive to fragrances and were glad there were no heavy perfumes used in cleaning the room or laundry. Staff very friendly. We would definitely stay there again.

Extremely clean, which was most important to me. My room on third floor front had fridge, small ice maker! microwave and pod coffee maker. Ocean view but to be clear, this part of our coast has high cliffs so you will not have a wide view of sand and breaking waves. On site parking and short drive to beach, Fitzgerald Marine tide pools, lots of restaurants and shops N and S within 10 minutes. It faces Hwy 1 but my room was quiet. Covid-safe and excellent massage therapists available at Pacifica Massage 5 minutes away. I would return.

The penthouse was wonderful! The view was awesome, and you could see the ocean each morning from the private deck. The staff was courteous and attentive, and the included continental breakfast was a very nice treat. I would recommend this Inn and will stay here again!

We have been to this property a couple of times now, and we have always had a nice stay. The area is quiet, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The view of the ocean is decent, and the balcony is nice to sit and have coffee on in the morning or a glass of wine at night. Rooms are comfortable and spacious. We will be back.

The property itself is nice, and our room was well furnished and very clean. However, the noise both inside and outside was unbearable. The inn is ON the highway, next to a mini mart and a gas station. The noise from these two places and the highway all night long was so loud that we couldn't sleep. There was also a lot of noise inside as well. Our room was right next to the reception desk and the walls were paper thin. We could hear the TV, every conversation, and people were constantly stomping right outside our door. It was a miserable experience, even though the staff was friendly and the place itself was very nice. We left exhausted.

Service was wonderful when we checked in, The lady at the Front Desk didn’t catch her name was wonderful! The easy quick continental breakfast just perfect! Loved the decor! Since we’re fans of the sea, my girlfriend loved everything about it.

The room was awesome

Our room was spacious. We didn't have a view room but a large bed and pullout couch. The set up could use some rearranging (the dresser drawers are blocked by the couch and the tv is at a 90 degree angle to both the couch and the bed). Mattresses are firm and comfortable. No one was at the desk when we arrived (even after ringing the bell) so we left for lunch and came back. Location is close to Half Moon Bay and beach access. Watch out for traffic when trying to get out.

The penthouse room was very large and the vaulted ceilings were very nice.
