The Dylan at SFO

This is our go-to place to stay when we are visiting family and friends in the Bay. Very quaint and charming place with free coffee and tea all day, a quiet dining area to chill, and clean rooms. Staff is friendly as well. Very near the airport - about 5-7 minutes away. Walking distance from the BART station and also a few restaurants. Go to Ipoh Malaysian resto nearby - so delicious!

Very well kept property. Very very comfortable room, with everything you need, from mini fridge to coffee maker, safe box, microwave. Everything working well. Loved the bath robes. Beautiful, cozy, comfortable. Coffee machine dispenser at the reception with all flavors avail. Wine by the glass at a super reasonable price. Snacks, breakfast items. Staff super helpful. This is definitely a hotel I will come back when visiting the area. Conveniently located in Milbrae next to the Bart station. Burlingame is also super close with great shopping and dining options.

If you use BART or Caltrain is just a 5 minute walk!!

Although the property is a bit older, everything is well maintained and the staff makes you feel welcome! Ample free parking, great location next to Milbrae Station, right next to SFO.

My first floor king bed deluxe room had a pervasive mold smell everywhere except in the bathroom. I mentioned it when checking out and the staff person said she would have a crew clean the carpet or otherwise correct the issue. Otherwise decent and comfortable.

Great location very near BART station. Hotel seemed safe. Everything was very clean. Bed and pillows were good. A/C worked well but had issues with hot water in the shower. Front desk said maintenance would check on it but I checked out before it could be fixed. Would probably give it another chance due to location.

The property was cute. The outdoor touches were nice (the fountain sitting area) and the rooms were set up nice and were clean. $25 for early check in…. We were 30 mins before 2pm. Had no clue this was an “indoor/outdoor” property. Not that it really matters just wasn’t expecting it. The elevator is small and the property is older (renovated). The pillows straight up sucked. I tossed and turned a lot with shoulder pain from that.

Love this place. Record players and real glasses in each room are a nice touch. Good size tvs and reasonable space in each room. Only downside is some of the "Queen" size beds are in fact NOT Queen size. Other than that I rock with it.

Disappointed by charge for early check in and not being told about availability of upgrade until message sent later via email . Also post it note in bathroom informing of happy hour, thought this a strange way to inform guests - I didn’t notice it until too late !

But…there is no restaurant or bar as described in the property details. Trader Joe’s and lots of restaurants close by. A Japanese restaurant is next door. Also, all exterior corridors. Since the neighborhood is not bad, I wasnt concerned but that is not disclosed in the property details either.

I spent my 34th birthday on a solo trip to the coast! What I loved about The Dylan Hotel: Comfortable beds, the a/c, the price and variety of the breakfast options, and the privacy! It was super close to Pacifica and I got to go to Rockaway Beach in about 25 minutes! They even upgraded my room to the 3rd floor so I could have more privacy and the view was beautiful. The walls were PAPER THIN. I could hear the man in the next room having a conversation on his phone and a woman cheering at a game. I was nervous about even having my TV up too loud.

First of all, the staff were friendly. I was supposed to arrive at 9pm, and my flight got delayed by 8 hours and arrived at the hotel close to 5am. I called them ahead of time to notify them, and when I arrived there, the staff was there and waiting for me. I also asked if I can stay for 30 more minutes after check out m, and he allowed me to do it. There was plenty of parking space. The room itself was clean and cozy. Super close to the airport too! Highly recommend! Nothing

The Dylan is an amazing place to stay, just one BART stop from SFO, and walking distance to Millbrae Station. The staff (shoutout Nina!) was very nice and helpful, and their self-serve wine bar was a great treat after a long work day! Walking distance to some great Asian food, as well as a grocery stores and CVS, and a short Uber to downtown Burlingame, where there are more restaurant choices. The rooms are very serviceable, though not as “new” as they might be. The bed is comfortable, there was a refrigerator AND microwave in the room, and plenty of hot water. The little balcony had a view of… the parking lot. BUT! It was a nice place to just kind of sit and scroll around your phone with a glass of wine and relax. Overall, I’d be more than happy to stay at The Dylan again!

So perfectly located near the airport without hearing the airport. Easy 2 min. walk to metro/train/BART station. Places to eat close by. Love the retro decor and photos on each door of prominent SF places. Everything was exceptional. We will stay here again.

This place was amazing. The room was wonderful. Had more than enough stuff. Had a quirky style. Had a view and had a cool fountain area where you could hang out. I didn’t even get to enjoy half of what they offered because my visit was short stay I will definitely go back there if I stay again in the area, I would definitely recommend.

We like the convenience of the hotel so close to the BART station. The hotel is very nice and clean. They have a very nice outdoor patio to enjoy a glass of wine. It is within walking distance of the local restaurants. A clean and nice community.

Great location, chill vibe, easy access to BART and plenty of parking. A little noisy and it’s clearly a converted motel. But they did a nice job with the design - and it is clean and comfy.

It’s fairly close to the airport. The pictures make you want to believe this isn’t a renovated motel but that’s what it is. The property has seen better days. Also there is no shuttle.

The room was clean, comfortable, and exactly what we needed. The lobby had 24-hour free coffee, plus snacks available for purchase, which was a nice convenience after late returns. Staff were helpful and attentive, especially after learning it was our first stay and walking us through everything we needed. Parking was easy. Overall, this is a great value option if you want convenience to both the airport area and San Francisco without dealing with city hotel prices or hassle. We would absolutely stay here again when in the area.

The property and services are nothing like what's described on Expedia.com and its own website. Unprofessional staff, old and dirty facilities, cheap amenities...the rating is inflated. I paid a five-star hotel room rate for a budget hotel facilities and services. Not a good deal.

Water pressure in the shower is poor. Room noise isolation was awful. I have stayed here many times, but something was different this time around. Heard the people in other rooms way too well! Very poor sound control.

Love the cool vibe and amenities at the front lobby area. It was nice to just grab a glass or bottle of wine at a very decent price. We appreciated this.

Had a 5 am flight. Woke up at 3 and was at the gate at 330 am. Super convenient.

The real helpful service at the front desk especially to propre a early check-in. We like the nice elegant display of furnitures wall decorations, it doesn't look like a motel. We visited several times at that hotel and we always appreciate the very comfortable bed mattress. The location is perfect to reach down town or airport.

Pretty decent place. I think that perhaps the bed mix up may have been on Expedia? We ordered a king bed room but got two queen beds? The lady at the desk was incredibly unhelpful with this. Said that it was because it was booked thru a third party app she couldn’t help us. Okay. BUTTTTT. Later I asked for a first aid kit I just needed one bandaid, she said they didn’t have one (which is illegal) … she didn’t give an eff about helping me. I went and got my own. Then the next morning I asked, if they have a first aid kit, they do and the lady got my a bandaid. I tried to explain to her that the person the night before wasn’t helpful and she seemed like she didn’t care. Soooooo idk

This place was a real surprise! Great renovation with tasteful design (great lighting in the rooms, lovely powder room, nice duvet) and great touches like a working record player in the rooms, and fun wine dispenser. It’s clearly been made over, but is kind of delightful. My only qualm during our quick one night stay was a strong perfume in the lobby. Really enjoyed the Dylan!

8 minute drive to SFO, next to the milbrae bart/caltrain station. lots of local restaurants. negatives... very hard pillows and difficult to navagate tv channel line up.

The evening receptionist was very welcoming, professional, and personable. Check out staff were good as well . We normally do our own breakfasts that we bring as the items most hotels have aren't great. We were hoping they would have orange juice, but most beverages were vending machine quality thus not healthy. Overall, the rooms are nicely done, comfortable, and fairly quiet considering the hotel has BART, Caltrain, and SFO airport very close by. We actually chose it for it's proximity to BART and SFO and we were very glad to have found it. We will use this hotel again - very pleased with the stay

My wife and I had a great stay here, the entire property was clean and our room had a balcony with a table and chairs to sit outside and enjoy the view of the city. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Its close to the airport and clean. Slept ok but if you get a room close to lobby you can hear people come by your room all night leaving or coming in. Only a vending machine

Really cute hotel, has both fun (record players with albums in the room) and useful amenities. Clean rooms, excellent quick grab and purchase cocktails and snacks in the evening, breakfast choices and coffee in the morning. Helpful staff. Great location…close to airport and walkable to good restaurants. Plan on returning soon!

Staff was not friendly at check in . They were preoccupied about how their day was . It was very noisy . People above us were shouting and running back and forth . We called the front desk 2-3 times for assistance . Then someone called our room at 4:00 am and hung up . No sleep all night . Would not stay here ever again.

I’ve stayed here a handful of times but each time I become a little more disappointed. The location is good as well as the cost and it is always clean. However this time it was very noisy, including the cleaning staff early in the morning yelling back and forth to one another. Additionally, the check in/out staff acted like they couldn’t care less that I was there…. No greetings…. No thank you’s. It was just a “meh” stay this time.

This hotel has character and personality, and you can tell the owner loves to host and run a hotel. A super pleasant surprise for an airport hotel for a short overnight stay between flights.

I was quite impressed how clean, and newish construction of the rooms and bathroom and shower, was exceptional. The pillows were even well thought out. The mattress was so comfortable. The wallpaper was hung correctly, the fixtures in the bathroom are very nice, the shower tile looked new. The whole room was so nice!!! Excellent value for the area. Property is secured but parking lot is not. Walkable to restaurants & shops, right now Milbrae Bart station. Room is comfortable with soft towels &a coffee machine, safe but surprised our standard room does not have a frig. (Only deluxe does) but front desk offered to keep our things & blue ice cold in their frig. It’s an easy in and out kind of inn, good for a short stay before an early flight.

Honestly, I travel a lot and not just in the U.S. and this place was one of the worst I’ve experienced. First, the property was impossible to find, no street signage whatsoever. We drove up and down the street 3 times. I finally googled it to make sure and told my husband it had to be right. We ended up going around back and there it was. My first impression was not good, but after the experience with the reception lady we just turned around and left, didn’t even stay the night. Someone had texted me earlier in the week asking if we wanted to upgrade our room. I agreed to the $25 up charge to upgrade. When I got there the lady acted like I was lying bc it wasn’t in her computer, even after I showed her the text. Then she said well the upgrade wasn’t available and the new girl must have forgotten to reserve it for me. I tried to ask if I had still been charged but she just kept rudely telling me there was no upgrade available. At which point my husband just said “We’re leaving!” We ended up staying down the road at La Quinta.

This is a great stop for a business trip. I stayed 2 nights and loved the accommodations, big room and comfy bed. I was able to walk across the street and enjoy a fabulous breakfast at a little diner they give you a coupon for. They offer water bottles to use for your stay and I ended up purchasing one. And the staff was delightful, kind and went above and beyond. They have a nice espresso bar and wine at your leisure. For the price point it's a great few night stay boutique. I will stay again when I am back in town for work.

Address was very difficult to locate. The evening staff was no help. The morning staff however, was quite nice. I didn’t take advantage of any amenities.

Good little hotel conveniently located near the Millbrae transportation hub just south of SFO airport. Nothing fancy, but nice beds and showers. You can, however, hear the trains as they go in and out of the nearby rail station.

For an airport hotel this felt clean, safe, quiet, had a comfortable bed and an exceptionally friendly staff. I’m seeing now it’s pet friendly - I didn’t know at the time, it was clean.

Had a late booking due to flight delayed. We booked and paid for a 2 Queens bed. At time of checking in around 9 PM, front desk just said 'we have a room with one queen bed, the room you booked is oversold, if you don't want the one bed, you can cancel' with the worst attitude for a customer service person. We had no choice but to accept the one queen. The layout of the room is cute, but some sanitary issue like there was a ring of stain inside the to toilet bowl, like it has not been clean. The room booked for 2 adults, the room has one set of towel, so one of us had to use the small one. Bath products were just okay. The room had a stuffy odor at entrance, although it was cold outside, we left the patio door opened for about 30 minutes to air out the room. I can't say that I will stay here again due to all of the opportunities we had encountered with this property.

Bare bones hotel, soap, shampoo and conditioner smelled rancid. Shower water slow drip, water would go from boiling to ice cold when trying to shower. They claim happy hour paid $ 15.00 for 2 four ounces of wine. Pillows smelled like dirty scalp.

The hotel has three stories, but there are elevators conveniently located, so even if you are hauling heavy luggage an upstairs room is no problem. Also the hotel is good value.

And it was fabulous having all day free coffee/tea/hot chocolate in the lobby. The grab and go breakfast options were well priced and came in handy one morning. Free parking and easy to find. BART station right behind hotel.

Property was great. My only complaint is I booked through my Expedia Canada app thinking it was in Canadian dollars like the other two hotels I booked the last two days. And found out it was in US dollars, which is much more than I wanted to spend.

My only complaint is that the coffee maker is broken, otherwise a nice place with comfortable rooms.

We passed on breakfast, but sure was nice having free tea & coffee offered 24/7! They also offer incredible happy wine hours from 3-7pm, plus you can purchase great bottles for very reasonable prices. All thats missing are some fire pits!

The HVAC unit sound was challenging to deal with and it was a super cold night so I had no choice but to use it. Overall, it was pretty clean and accommodating last minute. Front desk receptionist was very kind and friendly.

The walls must have been extremely thin. I am not noise sensitive but could hear the maids conversing outside the room, every plane that flew by, the neighbors in their rooms - it made sleeping nearly impossible. Checkout was at 11am and the staff tried to enter my room at 9:30am when I finally was sleeping. Not the best experience.

This is an enclosed motel. I found it comfortable and a bit retro. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. (I had no car, but parking is available.). It is a short walk to the Millbrae BART station so access to the airport and the Bay Area is easy.

Very upgraded/gentrified motel with exterior corridors. it works well and I think it is my hotel (motel?) of choice when I need to stay near SFO. Very reasonably priced, nice people, FREE PARKING!!!

The hotel has brought in a number of creature comforts that few other more contemporary hotels have done. Very quiet rooms although the hotel is located probably not more than 150 to 200 yards away from an Amtrak station and less than a mile from an SFO runway. Did not hear single train or jet during my stay. The housekeeping staff maintains a very clean room.

The Dylan is in a wonderful location; so close to the airport and a good neighborhood for a number of restaurants. The rooms are modern and clean, and the outdoor balconies are really nice for extra space and ventilation. The rooms have records and a record player, which is a fun touch. The breakfast options are limited, but enough to get you something in the morning. Happy hour and alcoholic beverages also make for a nice touch if one wants a drink after a long flight.

This place is not great at all. Look at other options, especially hotels with an airport shuttle (BART runs right into the City from the airport).

I like this hotel quite a bit, but it needs a bit of upkeep. On this trip (I stay here often), the water filter was not working and the room's refrigerator was loud (I had to unplug it to get some sleep). Otherwise, this is a good place to stay near the airport. The staff are friendly and the place is clean.

Rooms were decent, location was great. But the person behind the desk was clearly trying to scam tourists - told us uber to airport (which is very close) would be $40-50 due to special fees, while taxi would be $20-25, then put pressure on us to have him reserve a taxi for us. When I woke up and checked uber it was $15. I was trying to be polite and just take their taxi, but I luckily checked and asked how much before getting in the car - and he said $35-40! I told him I’d call an uber and he quickly decreased it to $20. In the car he had the uber app running and no taxi meter. Pretty clearly a scam on tourists, not cool.

It’s a 3.5 star hotel which is fine for a brief stay if you are flying in or out of SFO. The staff is helpful and the rooms are small and clean.

I always saw someone cleaning, in the hallways or rooms, the front desk and lobby area was also neat and tidy with access to a free coffee and tea station in the front. I even got a free book (they seemed to refill this box in the morning). As for the rooms, it had everything you needed - microwave and fridge already in there, robe and slippers for use, and even refillable water bottles if you forgot yours. The TV had streaming services you can sign into and a record player with some records to complete the vibe. Air conditioning worked well and wasn’t too loud, and apart from the carpet feeling thin - it was really a comfortable stay. would recommend to my family and friends for staying nearby

No AC no heater but who cares, this place and quiet and cute and your left alone to enjoy your peace!!! Staff is great drink prices are great me and my family enjoyed ourselves especially my 3 year old twins they ran a muck had a blast and not one house complaint lol.

We loved this spot for a last-minute airport stay. Quiet, clean, charming, comfortable, spacious, friendly. Food nearby. Easy access to the airport. LOVED having the in-room slippers and robes. Only the water pressure was a bit weak.

Felt like we were at a MOTEL 6 with only outdoor access to room. VERY POOR LIGHTING AT OUTSIDE OF ROOM. Felt unsafe at night. No shuttle to airport. Uber costs $35 on a Thursday evening. When we got to hotel we were told taxis are a better deal & they forgot to tell us when we called for transportation info. TV POWER CORD MISSING. Took over 1 hour for night clerk to figure out. When arrived told there was no breakfast included & Expedia advertisses incorrectly. Definitely not deserving of a 9.2 rating. What is wrong with your rating system!!!

This is just a lovely little hotel. The location is very convenient, and there are lots of food options within easy walking distance. The atmosphere at the hotel is relaxing and friendly. I don't usually write much about hotels, but this one is a gem.

This is a really neat property! Retro hip, if that’s a term to describe it. Room is comfy, space to sit and relax, balcony to chill out, good nearby restaurants. The room has a record player with records! And it’s very close to SFO, making a very convenient place to stop over.

No significant complaints except that the room was too small for three adults. I'm glad that we didn't stay longer than one night. One hour early check in fee was $25 plus tax and or other fees. The in-room self serve coffee was very tasty!

Very clean and comfortable. The only complaint we had, was that there were no mini fridges and that in one of our rooms (we booked two for the family) we could not get the Tennis Channel, while in the other, we could. The front desk could not help resolve, or explain why… so a little strange! Other than that, we were very satisfied and would definitely stay there again!

The best-sleeping pillow and mattress. There are so many restaurants within easy walking distance. Upscale in a small-package hotel. Professional staff. Free, safe parking on site. Try Isa's French restaurant next door. The Plate is excellent for breakfast or brunch. These are so close, they share a wall with the hotel, if I remember correctly. Mel's Diner is across the street.

The property was basic but had a cute vibe. It was clean. However, I would never return because in the middle of the night my room smoke detector went off. No one responded so I called the front desk and was told to let them know if it happened again. It was evident this was commonplace from her response. It did happen again and wouldn’t stop so the staff came and removed it from my room altogether. Not very reassuring! The next morning I reminded the front desk staff of the incident to make sure it was on their maintenance list. The staff was really dismissive, never apologized for the disruption and said, “Yeah, well stuff happens.” Yikes. It was an unsettling inconvenience and felt unsafe amd the whole thing was worse because of the staff’s nastiness.

Super homy and quiet place in such a super convenient location! They are also dog friendly! Offer the ground floor for dog owner and all the little things for my puppy! Staff are very friendly and they make the stay relaxing and enjoyable.

A small hotel but would implement nice touches throughout the room. Use nice ceramic mugs for your coffee, they rave you a pair of insulated water bottles to use while there. They have an ice/water dispenser in the lobby, good cause they do not sell water! Cutesy amenities that I appreciated. Although they had a toaster for the English muffin you purchase. I thought they should have a few offerings included. They had a coffee machine that made lattes but it needed service as the drinks were tasteless. It I would stay there again.

Place was nice and modern, quirky, clean and comfortable. However reception staff were grumpy and not welcoming and seemed preoccupied and annoyed to answer questions. This was very strange.

Friendly staff. It's an old motel revamped but still an old motel. I got there late and left early so I didn't see anything in daylight. It served my purpose.

My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights to attend the SF Pen Show located at the Westin. We found the hotel was convenient for accessing the Millbrae station for travels and just a short ride to the Westin for the event. The room was neat & clean (save for the area around the vanity station having slightly sticky carpeting) and had all the necessities for a comfortable stay. I also appreciate the hotel's communication with us ahead of time; to confirm our stay and address any questions we may have via text. Overall, we found The Dylan to be a reasonably priced and cozy hotel that we would return to again!

Why it deserves 10 stars: Staff was friendly and facilities were nice, as pictured. Nothing too fancy but cute, trendy and very clean. Easy stay. 9/10. The 12:00 PM CHECKOUT earns it a 10/10. Made my morning!

Fantastic! Great staff that was super proactively helpful. The price is an amazing bargain. You couldn't be more conveniently located to BART and the neighborhood is lovely. The one thing to note; the beds are not Queen Sized as advertised, but Double/Full Sized at best. Just something to note, and not at all a deal breaker in my opinion.

People stomped upstairs so loudly until 5 am and the front desk kept “checking it out”. DO NOT STAY HERE! When we checked in the lady was so rude when I asked about malls near the hotel she said “ya….”

I regularly stay at The Dylan when I'm on the peninsula. Very clean, well appointed rooms, in a good location. Staff are nice and helpful. It hits all the marks for what I need in a hotel.

The staff was very helpful. The carper was kinda unclean and sticky, so was the restroom. Everything else was very comfortable, also could hear people crossing the hallway very clearly, so might cause discomfort through the night.

It has a feel of a motel with much higher quality. Complimentary coffee all day and courteous staff. Beds are very comfortable. Location is great, 1 train stop away from SFO. Walk from metro is easy. Good dining options nearby.

This will be my family’s go to hotel in SF from now on.

The location is convenient, lobby and exterior are nice, and stay is affordable, however the interior of room was a bit dated and the floor of our room was very sticky, making it quite uncomfortable to walk around. This was seemingly due to the carpet being old and glue/adhesive coming through?

Loved the flexibility of late check-in and check-out! Fun restaurant right next door (Social Eatery). Meer steps to BART (into SF, Berkeley and Oakland) or CalTrain (thru Santa Clara / Silicon Valley down to Gilroy. The room was comfortable and amenities practical. Great for rest after “a hard day’s flight”.

I’ve stayed at The Dylan twice now and both times I have enjoyed my visit so much! The rooms are cute, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the location is great if you’re looking to Bart into SanFran or are looking for somewhere near the Airport.

Staff was friendly and rooms were clean. Property was quiet. Parking was included but there were no parking spots available when we checked in so we had to park behind the hotel on the street. Check-in was a little rough when it appeared the employee checking us in late at night feared she may have overbooked and didn’t have our room. Ended up working out but a stressful few moments when I was afraid we were going to be turned away at midnight after confirming my room multiples times in the days leading up to the trip.

Stayed here a a few times this year. Staff is great. Hotel is very clean and kept well. Location to transportation, restraunts and airport. No pool which provides quiet since not many kids stay. Only complaint is beds are very used. They are super uncomfortable tried to lay upside down. Previous room in March was the same in both beds. Body ached after a few nights stay. They need to replace the beds.

Very close to the SFO airport. The SamTrans public bus service run frequently from SFO to Millbrae Transit Center which is only 2 blocks from The Dylan at SFO. This property is also walking distance to the Mills-Peninsula Medical Center which was the purpose of my travel. Rooms were clean with modern decor. Staff was friendly and helpful. I had a great experience at The Dylan at SFO.

Small quaint hotel.

I love this place. I have been staying there for at least 15 years. However, they are starting to get into the practice of nickel and diming for things that used to be standard. The last time I was there before my most recent srsy, they charged me $25 for checking in 20 minutes early. When I contacted them, they did reverse the charge. This time, my room had no refrigerator. Refrigerators have always been a feature in this hotel since I’ve been staying there when it was a Travelodge! I was told that refrigerators and microwaves are only supplied to people who pay a $25 fee to upgrade their room to a deluxe. I will continue to stay there. But I am disappointed that they are using such tactics at a time when everything is getting more expensive for travelers.

I have stayed at the Dylan quite a few times over the years…aside from the fact that the location is wonderful and close to the airport, but they constantly are upgrading their experience there. The staff is always competent and friendly…can’t say enough about them…unique type stay for sure!

The welcome staff were excellent. They offer free coffee in lobby and they have a lounge for wine and cocktails. The room was not bad. It had a smell of older furniture, which wasn't off-putting but just reminded me of my grandma's house. However, it was still comfortable and clean. The AC in our room was very loud. Bathroom was nice.

Hotel was very very charming and modern. Bed was comfortable our room had a make up/coffee station area. We had a lot of room to spread out. There is an adorable courtyard with seating, a water fountain and lovely honeysuckle growing which makes it smell so pleasant. I will definitely stay here again!!! Staff was helpful. So close to the airport and walking distance to restaurants and a CVS.

Our 2 night stay was absolutely outstanding! The hotel is perfectly located, just minutes from SFO, BART, and the Caltrain station. A wide variety of restaurants are just steps away, making dining out a breeze. Ana and the rest of the staff were incredibly warm, hospitable, and accommodating. Highly recommended—we’ll definitely be back!
