    Our main issue was that our rooms (yes, we were moved to a second room after the first one was found to be dirty) were not cleaned well, if at all. In our first room, there was dust/dirt in small areas, so the room hadn't been thoroughly cleaned. However, the biggest issue in the first room was that there were food crumbs in the bed, which had been made. The main issue in the second room (besides food crumbs on the floor) was ants. There were only a couple ants in the bath tub when we first went into our new room, but the next morning, there was a swarm of them all over the coffee table. We didn't have open food lying around, so I'm not sure what attracted them. Again, I'd also like to mention how helpful and friendly the front desk staff were. They did what they could to try and make our stay better, and after still having issues with our second room, we received a refund. I'll boil it down to one pro and one con for this hotel: Pro: Front desk staff were very friendly, competent, and helpful. Con: The rooms were not very clean, and I imagine this will continue to hurt the customer score for this hotel in the future if this area is not improved.     See above. Also, there were two steps down from parking area to front lobby doors. One of the steps was the wrong height and I almost tripped coming down. They are not up to code. Then my sister-in-law tripped going up. This is the Midlothian Virginia express.

However, Expedia listing said a room with 2 queen beds could sleep 2 adults and 3 teenagers; there is not a single pull-out couch/chair in the room. Also, listing said there would be rollaway/extra beds available, but the hotel did not have any. And finally, the listing came up in hotels with a pool, but after checking in, finding out there is NO pool, a further look at the listing said "acess to a nearby pool." Extremely misleading.

    I was only here for 2 nights, but front office staff was barely visible and uninterested. But the worst part was my toilet broke and I had no hot water. The toilet broke the night before (Christmas night!) I had an early flight so no way I was going to move rooms or have someone come into my room. Then I woke up at 6am to shower and had no hot water. I told the clerk when I was checking out and she had nothing to say about it. There aren't many choices in this area to stay, but I'd never chose this one again.

    The hotel is not in a bad place. It’s not to far from plenty of dining options. Check in was quick and easy. The gentleman checking us in was nice. The next morning I could not find any hotel staff. My room key was not working and I was looking for ice. I walked around, up and down the halls. It was like ghost town. I left my key on the front desk with a sticky note letting them know my key was not working. No one reached out to help me. I returned to the hotel around midnight, to find out my 2nd key was not working either. I walked to the front and a lady was there talking on her cell phone. I explained my key did not work and she didn’t say anything to me. She continued her conversation on the phone, took my key, did something on the computer and handed me back my key card. Still carrying on with her conversation. I’m in my room drinking water. I dropped the top of the bottle and it rolled under the bed. I kneel down to get it and was disgusted by all the dirt and trash that was under the bed. There was a whole plate under my bed. How crazy. Time to check out I expressed my concerns and was told the manager would give me a call and she was sorry about the experience I had. It hasn’t been 24 hours, but I have not received any calls as of yet.

    I entered the hotel parking lot and parked at the very top because there wasn’t any other available space to do so. When I checked in, I was greeted but clearly was looking around for something. There were no carts to assist me with any of my luggage in the access to the front door was blocked off by a median, which made my rolling duffel bags nearly impossible to get down the stairs into the entryway of the hotel.. I chose this property because I have a disabled child who needs extra attention and accommodations. The property does not state that the Sister property is the facility that holds the pool. It just says access to nearby indoor pool. This was an essential need for my family. And I even stated in my accommodation request that I be near an elevator that I have access to the pool for easy transportation to and from due to my disabled child, and that there would be noise, restrictions that I requested to be available for us. When I had arrived, one of my very first questions was is the pool working properly. And the gentleman told me yes I after that stated OK good because that would be a big fiasco for my son. There was another front desk associate right there who did not say anything so I just assumed that everything was clear and in the go.We were not able to use the pool that evening and I did not try to go hunt for it because I was there visiting family and we were trick-or-treating with my two children. The next day when I went downstairs tpool food thank you tha

    The property appeared to be under construction, but it was still very well maintained, spotless and impressively clean. I would definitely choose to stay here again if I return to Virginia. I also arrived earlier than my check-in time, and the staff kindly had my room ready in advance, which was incredibly helpful as I was attending a wedding with my husband and children. It was truly appreciated. Thank you!

    I was disappointed with the bed linens.. they were wrinkled almost like they werent cleaned. The pillow cases were very wrinkled. I dont mind staying in a 2 star hotel but a few special touches could make it better. The best thing about this property was the person checked us in on May 3rd at 3:00. She was great!

    Hotel is in disarray. Many door knobs were broken off on closets and maintenance rooms. The closest working ice machine to the breakfast area was on the 3rd floor. Hotel employees didn’t seem to care.

    They NEVER cleaned the room. One day they just emptied the trash cans. Once day they just made the beds. One day they took used towels and made beds. They NEVER ever cleaned the bathroom floor or toilet which were dirty when I arrived. The elevator broke the day I check out. I was never notified. When I called down for assistance with my bags they never answered the phone.

    The only good thing was the breakfast. The hotel was undergoing extensive renovations, including the lobby, rooms, etc. Only had one flat pillow per person in the room. Asked for more, but was told there were none. Only one elevator for four floor hotel. Bad experience. Should have been informed ahead of time about the extensive renovations on-going. It would have given us the option to choose another hotel in the area.

Here’s list of just a few of the things that were wrong: Bathroom door sticks and has to be forced open or closed, the tub was not only chipped it was dirty, paint chips were in the entry way and floor of the bathroom, the GFI was always tripped and would not reset, toilet seat loose (I tried to tighten and could not) there was paint all only the drop in ceiling and to be totally frank, the property was below IHG standards and I really can’t believe you could charge $204 for the night.

The room had only a sheer curtain only so a street light was shining into your room all night. You got dressed in the dark, no privacy. The refrigerator made a droning loud noise randomly so you constantly wake up. Nobody came by to clean room or make bed the second day. We did not blame the front staff but the management for having a shortage of staff and not improving the situation. This place is is not hospitable or enjoyable.

    The room was just okay. We got there Friday evening and they only have one luggage cart so wee had to make several trip to the car. The young man working the desk did help carry our luggage to the room. The bathroom door was falling apart. The door was held together at the bottom with screws and parts of the door was falling on the floor. The tv lost power or the cable signal every time the refrigerator cut on. The breakfast was good and the staff were very nice.

Also, the elevator call buttons did not light up on the 3rd floor & there was a note on the elevator door frame instructing you to go down the stairs to the 2nd floor in order to get the elevator ( not good for 2 persons who have disabilities). Lastly, we left our room in the am after staying at the hotel the 1st night, the maid saw us leave as she was outside the room in the hallway. When we returned to the hotel for our 2nd night, the bed was unmade & dirty used towels in the bathroom were still on the floor.

    The hotel has a pleasing appearance; however, the management staff is highly unprofessional. The MOD during my stay was rude and abrasive. Prior to my arrival, the Mgr. On Duty phoned me to ask my arrival ETA, but actually HUNG UP as I was replying to her and attempting to get addl. info. My room's "blackout drapes," which were denoted as amenities online, WOULD NOT CLOSE (*I have photos & video), and the light negatively impacted my ability to get to/stay asleep. At checkout, I was told the hotel's GM would "be at work on Monday," so I left my contact info. w/the same MOD & desk staff, w/a request that the hotel's GM contact me ASAP. After 3 days (a TUES.), I had not been contacted by the GM, so I emailed her my concerns/complaint about my room, guest experience & the unprofessional MOD; I received an automated email reply in which the GM noted, "I am on vacation and will be out of the ofc through Monday" (actually the day before?!). 2 days later, I contacted IHG Hotel's Corporate HQ to formalize my complaint and request the name/contact info. of the hotel GM's immediate supervisor (not given). I was redirected to the original GM, who sent me a 2nd email: "...Please allow me the opportunity to review your reservation and stay, and then get back to you in detail." One week (7 days) later, I STILL have yet to have that GM "get back to me," or provide me w/any of the info. that I requested.

    House keeping took out trash but didn’t refill the tissue or bring more towels , or even make the bed. Elevator broke so I had to come down two flights with all my luggage , very upset with that . Elevator was slow.

    Great staff. Attentive, professional, kind. I like how the grounds are completely surrounded by trees and bushes. Made it feel tucked away. Easy to forget the large highway we were next to.

    It was in a nice area. The smell in the room was musty and stale. The bed was uncomfortable. I felt really dirty when I left. The hotel is old, moldy, and musty. Not a great night.

    The staff was friendly and helpful. The property was clean and the room satisfactory. The sheets felt slightly damp which was strange but probably a one off as everything else was great. The individual choices such as coffee brands and toiletries were first rate and they didn’t skimp. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and stay.

    I was nervous at first because the lobby wreaked of cigarette smoke. However it was very clean and the room was huge! The bed was alright. Comfy enough. The air conditioner wasn’t strong enough for the size of the room. I didn’t sleep well because I was hot.

    Nice place. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Room was nice and clean. Some cosmetic repairs were needed. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had. Overall very nice place to stay.
