The Local House

Our favorites were the beach access , roof top pool, and the smell as you enter the lobby! We need to know how to get that scent! The location was also very quiet and walkable to several nearby restaurants. We were sad to leave.

Great place - close to the action without being right in the craziness of south beach. We liked taking walks down to the southern tip of Miami Beach near Smith & Wollensky’s - it’s a lot quieter there. We enjoyed brunch at the Local House two days in a row; our room was clean and spacious; and the rooftop pool was a nice getaway. I would stay here again.

Excellent location. We wanted to be close to main Ocean Drive area while prioritizing silence during night hours, because we went with a baby. And this hotel is exactly at that place. So, you'll enjoy main tourist area very close to you while at night you can rest comfortably without any noise close to the hotel. Room was big and very comfy, it made us feel at home. After 10PM, there's no one anymore in the hotel. Unfortunately, our flight delayed for 4 hours, so we arrived at 11PM. Hotel still contacted through phone/message to coordinate the late arrival. Instructions were clear regarding how to enter the building and enter the room. Still, I'm accustomed to hotels always having a reception, even after late hours. Overall, this is a minor thing that just impacted on arrival; hotel always made the best to ensure I would be able to enter building/room.

The rooms are bright, airy, and beautifully designed, with a calming beach‑house vibe that instantly puts you in vacation mode. Thoughtful details—plush bedding, spacious layouts, and serene color palettes—make it easy to unwind after a day in the sun. Many big hotels in Miami feel busy and loud, but The Local House offers something rare: peace. The rooftop pool is a standout. It’s intimate, quiet, and offers a perfect escape from the bustle of South Beach. Whether you’re lounging with a book or enjoying the skyline views, it feels like your own private oasis. And the restaurant—wow. The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Breakfast here is a must; the kind of meal that sets the tone for a perfect day. The cocktails are equally impressive, crafted with care and ideal for sipping on the terrace. Best of all, the location couldn’t be better. Steps from the beach, close to great dining and nightlife, yet tucked away enough to feel secluded. It’s the perfect balance.

The room was beautiful and very clean, and the rooftop/pool area was really nice. I also loved that beach chairs and umbrellas were provided for free at the beach as part of the stay package. Did not love the "security deposit" I had to pay at the beginning of my stay. It was refunded, but was I charged an extra $100 per night upfront, which added a level of unnecessary stress to my stay.

The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. It’s 5 minutes walk from the beach. The Wi-fi actually works in this hotel compared to other 5-star hotels. The main restaurant down stairs had excellent breakfast, main course and desert. The light+ventilation sensor in the bathroom was behaving strange. The light was turning on and off randomly. For a short stay it wasn’t that annoying.

The sink in the bathroom is too high for a small to avarage person. The lights in the bathroom stayed on and there was no way to turn them off. Only one robe a one pair if slippers for two people..

We were out for several hours, when we returned it was still flooded and we were told the cleaning staff were not available. This was clearly unhygienic and they didn’t have a solution. It was impossible to use the bathroom and we were told there was nowhere else we could shower. We’d been in the sea and needed to get ready for the evening. By the time we got back that night the floor had been dried but we didn’t know if it had been disinfected.. apart from this incident the Local House was a great place to stay

Excellent service, Eddy, the property manager was very responsive and helpful. My partner and I were celebrating our anniversary and Eddy had surprised us with balloons and a hand written note in our room when we arrived. Top notch customer service! Location is perfect, right close to all the sites offered in South Beach. The private beach access was nice, chairs and umbrellas provided daily. The food serviced was really great and then the roof top pool area just took this place over the top. Now I just can't wait to come back! Everything was great

My sister & I loved our stay at The Local House. It was super cute. The staff were wonderful & helpful. The location was as convenient as can be. The restaurant in the main lobby is cozy, welcoming & offers great food & drinks. The only thing that was a little annoying was dealing with the valet service every time we needed to pick up or drop off our car. Most of the time we timed the request well, but at times the wait was a little crazy considering it was an off season time of year. I can't imagine renting a car & paying all the separate expenses during peak seasons. I'd recommend using ride shares instead.

Room was lovely, the artwork was beautiful, posed Barbies...that were doing activities, very original. We ate in the restaurant and the food and service were excellent. The valet parked my truck and had it ready when we left, the overall experience 5 star. I'm glad I booked there.

The room was clean and spacious, they even arranged a bunch of balloons for our anniversary, that was very sweet and thoughtful. The staffs were polite and very helpful. The hotel is located on the corner of Ocean Dr and 4th street, very quiet and close to beach, also there was a restaurant at the ground floor. The weather wasn't good for beach until the last day before we left, we finally got chance to use the beach lounge chairs and umbrella for about 1 hour to make ourselves feel better for our paid $40/night resort fee. The rooftop swimming pool was too shallow, the max height was 2'9", and the bad weather made it useless, it was part of resort fee as well. Anyway, it was a nice short vacation stay. The only complain might be the room and the hallway had very strong fragrance kind smell, it was too strong that we had to open the window all the time even if it was raining very hard with strong wind. I think it was very bad for the people who is sensitive and it should not be used.

We loved it! Location is excellent right across from beach and so many nice restaurants. Having the chairs and umbrellas set up at beach was fantastic. (That is part of the amenity fee) The rooms were nice and comfortable and loved having a balcony. Staff was super friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again!

Quiet, clean, so convenient to beach and shops and great dining options. Maman was our morning ritual. Excellent manager, Eddie was a joy, super helpful and accommodating. Staff and amenities were excellent, particularly the rooftop pool and the gentleman at the front desk who checked us in. Great proximity/access to the beach and shops/restaurants. The only elevator that goes up to the rooms was a bit touch and go as it didn’t work for us a few times and we had to resort to the staircase.

I was charged 551.00 because they said my elderly parents wet the bed and that the towels were stained which they were not. Facility was nice and staff very nice but I’ve never lost a deposit in my life until now. I will not be staying here again.

The first guy who did our check-in was very nice but the other guy who was working at the lobby on our last day knocked our room to put us out when I was taking shower. He didn’t know we paid for late check-out. It was not nice. Otherwise, we enjoyed staying.

The parking was a little confusing. Be sure to use their valet parking. We weren't told about it and parked in a very expensive lot nearby. The owner felt bad that we weren't told about it and gave us breakfast vouchers which was very nice of her.

Overall the stay was great. Extremely close to the beach. Beds were comfortable. Rooms were clean. Food at the restaurant was decent. My only issue is that because they don’t have a physical person on duty after a certain hour, you have no one monitoring the floors or building. There was someone banging on a room door down the hall from us for hours because they couldn’t get into the room. Either the person inside was asleep or didn’t want to let them in. It was extremely loud and echoing throughout the floor, disruptive to our sleep and other guests on the floor were very annoyed and upset. There was no one available to tell or to come handle the situation. I would prefer someone be onsite. Also, if you arrive after 10pm, you have to call and someone has to instruct you on how to get to your room key and it involves carrying your luggage up some stairs if you don’t have anyone with you to watch it so that you can come back to open the main door and use the elevator.

Some aspects of room seem to need updating Parking is too expensive and it’s mandatory valet.

We had an enjoyable 8 day stay at Local House. The inhouse restaurant was very good. The hotel is only one block from the beach. The staff was very professional. The area surrounding the hotel is very quiet and safe. The rooftop pool is top notch. We will be going back again.

The Local House is a charming boutique hotel, and our stay was truly wonderful. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The location is ideal—peaceful yet just steps from the beach. The hotel provides convenient beach amenities, including towels, two chairs, and an umbrella. There’s also a restaurant on the ground floor and a rooftop lounge where we enjoyed relaxing in the evenings with a pleasant breeze. The surrounding area is very convenient, with numerous restaurants, a Starbucks, a small market, and a Walgreens just next door. Overall, The Local House offers both comfort and convenience in a beautiful setting.

The location is ideal—peaceful yet just steps from the beach. The hotel provides convenient beach amenities, including towels, two chairs, and an umbrella. There’s also a restaurant on the ground floor and a rooftop lounge where we enjoyed relaxing in the evenings with a pleasant breeze. The surrounding area is very convenient, with numerous restaurants, a Starbucks, a small market, and a Walgreens just next door. Overall, The Local House offers both comfort and convenience in a beautiful setting.

This is a great boutique hotel in a great, quieter area. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Rooms were nice appointed and clean. The beach chair service was a great addition and the rooftop pool was quiet and eclectic. I will definitely be returning.

This is our home away from home when we visit our daughter in SF. Lovely atmosphere, garden is an unexpected delight, and Owen makes the best breakfast! No lodging in SF is inexpensive- given the location, the price here is not excessive.

This is an amazing hotel. It is very comfortable and nicely decorated. The rooftop is amazing, and we had it for ourselves most of the time. Loved that we had complimentary beds and umbrellas at the beach. The staff was also super nice. We loved our stay! The deposit of 100 USD per night and per room seemed a bit unreasonable, especially for families (we had two rooms). They should consider charging per stay, and not per number of nights.

I stumbled upon this place after my flight home got canceled - and I'm so glad I did! The staff was friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and the rooftop pool was a highlight! I will definitely come back if I'm in the area.

We experienced The Local House as a beautiful, charming, modern and creatively decorated smaller hotel on Ocean Drive itself. You get the best location here with the South Beach only a stonethrow away (1 minute walk) and loads of restaurants and bars down the street. The staff was excellent and outstandigly friendly and helpful! Our room was on the top floor, spacious, very clean and cosy, the bed was very comfortable - we had the best sleep here! To top it off, there was a nice rooftop pool and chillout area. We had a fantastic time and will definitely book this hotel again next time we visit Miami.

Beautiful boutique hotel which was very stylish with a great restaurant below which is very popular. Roof top pool was so lovely and never too busy! It’s walking distance to everything and in the nicer quieter part of town.

The concierge was excellent and so helpful took care of anything we needed and answered all our questions. The room was great and pretty quiet considering its location. But it at the quieter end of the main road. Great people watching at happy hour. The upstairs pool was fun for my kid. Would def go again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Local House . We were told a day before our stay that elevator is not working , which I felt was a little bummer . But the staff way above and beyond to make that as non issue by helping us with stroller and bags. And also gave option to leave stroller downstairs .They were very playful with my little one and ensured we have comfortable stay . They also arranged for Crib , came with surprise bday cake in the morning ( though my husband asked for it ) but it was nice gesture at their end to come with candle and celebrate with us. Lastly the food at Local house restaurant was super delicious and the ambience was great with live music.

It was a gem of a property in a wash of older hotels. Loved the restaurant and top floor pool area. No ciew of the ocean but right next door. I used the boardwalk to run twice a day along the beach. Wonderful

Property was very nice & clean and staff was top notch, would have gave a perfect 5 but the elevator broke down after a bad storm for the last 2 days and stairwell door was outside the hotel, so we had to walk up and down the flooded stairwell, and outside in the rain to get to it, although they accommodated us as much as they could with umbrellas and offered to bring our luggage down, I felt like the elevator was a bit jumpy on the Fritz even before the storm so it may could have been avoided, although the inspection for the elevator was dated fall of 2024. Definitely will be back if the elevator is fixed!

We loved the Local house the room was cozy and quiet and clean, and the lady that checked us in made us feel very welcomed. I cannot say one bad thing about my stay, valet was quick and I will stay here again.

Loved the balcony. Bed was so comfortable. Staff really helpful. The restaurant downstairs was delicious. All the staff so helpful and professional. Oh and check out Floor 4 - magical. Loved it all!

Excellent location. Close to the action, but quieter. Easy access to beach chairs and umbrellas. Beautiful roof top pool for cooling off.

Parking is next door and little difficult as a small lot and pricey but hotel was nice and walk to beach and restaurants.

The hotel staff are incredibly accommodating and friendly, making the stay even more enjoyable. The location is excellent, with a variety of restaurants and shops nearby, and it’s just a short walk to the beach. Additionally, the pricing is very reasonable considering the spacious rooms and comfortable beds. I’m looking forward to visiting again!

I had an incredible stay at Local House in Miami Beach! The location is unbeatable—just steps from the beach with convenient beach access and fantastic beach service that made lounging by the ocean effortless. The rooftop sunsets were absolutely breathtaking, and the quiet, boutique vibe of the hotel offered the perfect balance of relaxation and proximity to all the local hot spots. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the valet service was a great convenience. If you’re looking for a serene yet central place to stay, Local House is a gem! I love walking out on the balcony in the mornings.

Slow moving elevator was the only negative...lol. Everything else was superb.

This little hotel in South Beach is my absolute favorite place in the whole world for so many reasons. From the moment you arrive the atmosphere is very relaxed with beautiful beachy vibes for all the senses, visually and the scent of the ocean. The staff is so friendly they are so appreciative of you bring there and make you feel happy. The rooms are spacious and modern but the best part is the swaying large palms outside your sliding door where you can sit down on your private balcony and just take in the feel of being there at this marvelous place. I would like to say how much it means to me that they take such good care of the property and have such warm welcoming people working to greet their guests. The Local House is my happy place where I wish I could stay more often but I definitely highly recommend it.

Overall the property was great, location 10/10. However…. We did not have hot water in our shower: for 3 days we had to take freezing cold showers and that was after raising it to the hotel. It’s sad because it really took away from the experience and I would probably not stay here again or recommend it. 3 days of cold showers at a hotel…. The 2 things you want from a hotel is a nice bed and a shower. :(

If I had to nit-pick then I'd say it would have been nice to have an outlet near the bed and the shower controls took a little playing around to figure out the rain head vs regular and hot water.

The room I stayed in was impeccably clean, showcasing a level of care that is often hard to find. It was comfortable and well-appointed, providing a perfect retreat after a long day of exploring the area. What truly stood out, however, was the fantastic homely feel of the hotel. It was great. The staff were helpful and accommodating. Getting in the property after closing was tricky but luckily someone was able to let us in.

We booked a king room but we were notified just before we arrived that it was not available and we would have a two double beds and would receive breakfast vouchers to compensate for the inconvenience. When we arrived we noticed the bedspread was not full size, only half? So strange and not comfortable for sleeping. The air conditioning turned on and off all night it was either freezing- not great when you only have half a bed spread or the air conditioning was off and the room became very hot. Not a good night sleep at all. The bathroom light comes on automatically when you enter and the light shines into the bedroom which wakes up your partner every time you go into the bathroom at night. The breakfast voucher was fine but a little surprising that it only allowed us to have the most basic choice of eggs, bacon or sausage, potatoes and toast. It was fine but I would have liked something else on the menu. It did not allow us to choose from the entire breakfast menu. The food was good but it seemed strange that we were restricted to the most basic choice. The hotel is very cute and stylish but I would not stay again unfortunately.

I was a bit disappointed. The rooms were much smaller than they appeared on line. No telephones in the room. No ice machine on the floors. The staff was overall nice but I expected more for the price. They have all type of petty charges like stains on towels that will charge you 25 dollars for whixh is ridiculous. I satued at all type hotels over the world and never experienced that. Parking is horrible unless you pay a separate fee for a parking lot the local house doesnt own. Staff was nice but ill probably try somewhere else next time.

We really enjoy our stay in Local House hotel. Staff was super helpful and friendly. JD was great she help up take Lift car when we needed. Location is great close to everything shopping, restaurants and super close to beach. We definitely recommend the place and will be staying in future.

This is a cute and perfect little stay for ocean drive. Beach is literally less than 1 min from beach. Lots of restaurants, bars, and shopping in walking distance. No need to have a rental car if out of town.

To start with, there is no front desk. The staff was sitting on a small couch when we entered and stood immediately to warmly welcome us. Everything was just perfect from the staff to the hotel, to the location - less than a block from the beach, with complimentary lounge and umbrella at the beach - to the roof deck pool and party area. The small balcony over looking ocean ave was very nice. The street noise was cut off as soon as the patio door was closed. Overall, an excellent hotel.
