Reviews
The hotel's location is highly praised, being close to the beach and various restaurants and bars. However, the hotel's cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service are heavily criticized.
- Excellent location near the beach and various amenities
- Friendly and helpful staff in some instances
- Poor cleanliness and maintenance issues in rooms and common areas
- Inadequate customer service, including unresponsiveness and false advertising

Check in staff was not kind. Everytime we asked for help there was a problem with getting help. Siri was terrible. The elevator was broken
- 2/5
Ask about the parking and elevator situation prior to booking
- 1/5
Took them over three hours of us, waiting to even get checked into our room. If you’re staying in the second building, you have to walk through a restaurant every time to enter your hotel room, which is not ideal in the staff is absolutely unattended if you speak only English very rude.
- 4/5
For whatever reason,,my television wasn’t working in The Dorset . The shower was excellent,,
- 5/5
The hotel is good, the only thing is that you have to park on another block or pay for valet
- 5/5
Everything was amazing, I will be back!! it’s 3 hotels connected, so beautiful. My only issue was that when I checked in, they said breakfast was included, but when I went to get breakfast at the other hotel connected they said it wasn’t included
- 1/5
Hotel is not well maintained (dirty with a bad smell.)
- 1/5
The first room that they put me in had roaches, they changed my room and guess what that room had roaches too. The staff manager was friendly, the valet staff was rude and over charged me for parking and argued with me about a refund. Not to mention both pools was dirty full of hair, toothpicks, and other gunk you could find. The ac unit was janky asf it kept the room freezing but when you turn it off the room gets really hot. The tv in the second room was completely broken. Not to mention the roaches I will never stay at this hotel ever again. The food at the restaurant is super bland and it comes out cold asf. It taste like they microwave everything. The bed was comfortable and that’s about it.

Very horrible experience

The cleaning staff came in while I was sleep and scared me. It was 8am. The AC unit in my room was broken. There was no trash can in the room. Had to get one sent up
- 1/5
They had mold all over the bathroom.
- 1/5
I wish the pool was bigger but it was still nice

My only complaint is, I have mobility issues and I had to use steps to get to the elevator and to get to my room. I didn’t know that prior to booking.

Location was great. Near the beach and restaurants. We had live larvae on our pillows when we walked in the room. We had about five of them, so we flushed them down the toilet and cleaned up the bed. Thinking it was a one-off. Next day we didn’t see any bugs until we got back from dinner. New bugs with wings were dead on our little refrigerator, we had about 20 of them just dead on there. Funny thing is, we walked out of the room with no bugs on there, house cleaning literally walked in after us and when we returned we found 20 bugs dead on the window of the refrigerator, so weird. So I took pictures, walked to front desk, showed them pictures of the bugs, they said they will clean it up and never did. We checked out the next morning. If we visit South Beach Miami. We will look for another hotel. Was not impressed with cleanliness or service. I’ll spend the extra $20-$40/night and stay next door, we checked out those properties and they are actually clean.

This hotel looks nothing like online.. gives 2 star, definitely should avoid!
- 1/5
My receipt stated that I owed an additional $68 at check-in, but I was told I had to pay over $100 more because of a security deposit. I was informed that this deposit would be refunded at checkout, but I never received anything back. To make matters worse, I emailed the manager regarding issues after my stay and have not received any response. The lack of communication and concern for customers is unacceptable. Based on my experience, I would not stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it to others. Customers deserve better service, honesty regarding charges, and follow-up when concerns are raised.

Location was perfect and near everything. The room was a little dusty but I slept SO good on that comfortable bed!! Staff was very nice & the happy hour was cute. Would definitely recommend!
- 1/5
The place smelled like mold as soon as u got in the door. The staff was always miserable and wouldn’t even say hello back or hold the door for u….nothing. We had a rain storm one day and the ceiling in our room leaked and no one came to help. In the morning I said something and they didn’t offer another room or compensation. I also saw a roach one day in the lobby of the Dorset building. The rooftop pool was filthy. I will never say there again
- 4/5
It’s a great location but room could have been cleaned better
- 2/5
Our bathroom flooded and no one answered to help us out and they had no batteries for the remote so there was no tv the whole time
- 3/5
Affordable but I’d spend more money for a better experience + amenities.

It a very good location, close to many shops and restaurants, the beach is just a few minutes walk. There are many stores that offer good sightseeing tours at a decent price. The staff was friendly and accommodating, housekeeping ladies were friendly, as well as fast TV maintenance. We would use this facility again.
- 5/5
Right close to the beach, great breakfast buffet, id stay here again for sure.
- 5/5
AMENETIES Free pool towel rentals, 2 pools even though the rooftop one is uselless because it's too warm and full of floating sunscreen. Free sunscreen dispenser at the big pool is great. FREE HAPPY HOUR BOOZE, yes you can get lot for free ! NOISE first night we were right above the taco taco restaurant, the music was horrendous... But at our request staff switched us the next day and our second room was great. FOOD: the buffet breakfast is great, lacks a but of diversity after 4 days. The 2 restaurants are good but a bit overpriced. STAFF: absolutely amazing and helped us with all our needs. Overall 5/5
- 4/5
Great location, some room issues with shower but staff addressed. Our room did not get made up. The link between the 3 properties was great and loved happy hour 😜 the Expedia site showed shuttle to airport available but the hotel does not provide. The neighbourhood is amazing
- 5/5
the hotel was super nice and is in a good area for night life and things to do. there are three hotels on top of restaurants which was slightly confusing when we were checking in, but they give you a map at the front desk. The AC was super cool. We had people coming into clean our rooms at least once a day supplies with fresh towels, etc. Free breakfast was served in the lobby every morning, and there is also a drink of the day that served between five and six at the bar. i really enjoyed my stay and would recommend
- 4/5
I booked the king size terrace room months in advanced, confirmed everything with management before I came and I was told it wasn't working once I got there. No other explanation than that. The hotel returned my resort fee and gave me a bottle of champagne the next day so It kind of made up for it, but my main reason for booking that room at this hotel was because it was referred to me and it was my birthday weekend. Other than that, the place was great and I'd definitely stay again!
- 4/5
The hotel stuff was nice mostly except this one male front desk clerk who seemed annoyed with me asking for towels. The room was clean but had a bad smell. The location was perfect, beach being a 5min walk, botanical garden walking distance, nice pools on property and beautiful restaurants next to the hotel… Walgreens 24 hr right up the street. Smoke shop, liquor store, clothing store all in the area help the stay go smoothly…
- 2/5
The hotel stay was disappointing. The room appeared to be poorly maintained. The bathroom had no exhaust ventilation, the bathroom door would not close properly, and the main AC unit was not working. Instead, a portable AC unit was placed in the room, which was inconvenient and uncomfortable. Overall, the maintenance and room condition did not meet expectations for a comfortable stay.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel, close to the beach, to the stores and rent a bike around the corner, Easy to visit and get there.

My room was given away but it was a forgivable mistake as we had the same name and staff comped some drinks. The room I was given however was of poor quality. Saw multiple roaches, room felt muggy no matter the what the a/c setting. I could hear everything happening on my floor. I will not be staying here again.

Property is close to the beach. Taco taco has amazing food. Staff is awesome.
- 3/5
The pictures of the room are very deceiving! Let's just say they hired spiderman to take pictures from a high angle. The hotel is currently under renovation. So the bar was not up & running. There isn't enough space in the room for 2 women if you both need closet space. The hotel provides body wash, shampoo, & conditioner. For those who don't use that & bring their own, its no space in the shower to put it. There is a ice bucket, but no ice at the hotel. You have to go next door to Maxine's or the taco spot for it. The air in my room didn't blow consistent cold air. I'm from Louisiana. I need my room to feel like Antarctic. In the middle of the night, the air was warm. I stayed 4 nights, on the last night there were bugs in my bed! Not bed bugs, but bugs that looked like fire ants minus the wings. I was told that this was normal for this time of the year. I had a blast in Miami but the hotel sucked! The ambience was cute but they need some major updates in the rooms.
- 2/5
Stayed for three nights and not once was our room cleaned despite asking housekeeping staffers we saw in the corridor. The hotel is in three separate buildings. We had to walk through a restaurant to reach our room. The room itself was serviceable although the sloping floor as you exit the bathroom is an interesting experience in the dark. Room had no ‘please clean my room’ or “do not disturb” signs. Air con was by a loud but functioning standalone ac unit, like those you see in windows. The Catalina has two restaurants, one of which is a taco bar. It boasts of its happy hour during which you can get lemon drop shots for free. Be wary when ordering drinks at other times as you may be asked if you want medium or large version. I was charged $38 for a medium mojito. It’s not a terrible hotel but it’s not the luxury experience you might be expecting.

Location and the availability of restaurants The check in lady gave me issues but Jose the manager fixed it immediately. Also I booked for 3 nights only stayed 2 as my flight changed and they did NOT refund my last day.

Bad experience! When we arrived we had a problem with the strong odor in the hotel. Gone to room the smell was so strong my friend and I couldn’t resist. Couldn’t sleep. With diabetes and asthma was not a good idea. We complained at the front desk we were ignored. We requested to cancel the next night. We where ignored we where told to call property manager or email. The worst attitude, unprofessional. The pictures it was posted online about the hotel are not the same. Fake place. All the above! Place didn’t match what it was posted online.

Everything was great except the elevator did not work and there were no signs of maintenance on it for the entire time we were there. Other than that, it was a really nice stay.
- 5/5
The room was very clean and comfortable, and the air conditioning worked perfectly throughout my stay. The staff was friendly, professional, and always willing to help with anything I needed. Breakfast had a nice variety of options and was fresh every morning. Overall, it was a pleasant and relaxing stay, and I would definitely recommend this property to others.

The breakfast menu was fresh. The staff was really nice and helpful

This cute boutique hotel is actually a conglomeration of three buildings. The hotel lobby and main building is the middle. Light breezy lobby with comfortable seating. Large TV and chilled water. Attentive and helpful staff. To the left is the "Taco, Taco" building which has a great rooftop area with a small pool and bar. A larger sun deck with fans, shaded area, water fountain, and restroom makes it super convienient. On the right side is the "Maxines" building. This lowrise building has another very nice pool accessible at street level with bar service and plenty of chaise lounges. Complimentary sun lotion is offered. My room was in this building. The King room was large, comfortable and clean with ample closet space, shelving and stocked fridge. Large bathroom with open shower shower and seat. Rain shower and handheld shower heads. Its right on Collins avenue with plenty of action and nearby things to do. The beach is a short one block walk away. Maxsines is open for beakfast, lunch and dinner and Taco Taco has a fun vibe and great food. Overall great place to stay. Enjoy!

I really enjoyed the included breakfast everyday. Hotel was slightly dated but my room was very good.

As I was getting dressed. Housekeeping or maintenance walked right into my room. Without announcing their self.
- 2/5
Old rooms but they tried to make them look modern Not curtains in the room, AC very loud The valet and parking were terrible, not organized and not honest, very pricy.
- 2/5
I really don’t know what happened this go around but I was very disappointed with my stay this time!!
- 5/5
The AC could have been better. Room smelled musty and windowsills need cleaning from dead bugs etc.
- 4/5
Small rooms very noise

Elevator wasn’t working
- 5/5
The only thing that I didn’t like was, I was in the building to the right and our elevator from the second floor was not working that they left. It’s in a great area. The food is divine, and the staff was great. Asked for extra towels they were delivered to my room. It does need some upgrades kind of an old hotel, but awesome time.

The staff in Maxine hotel was not as pleasant as the two other hotels. I stayed in the hotel with Taco Taco restaurant. They were so pleasant and helpful, even holding the door for us. When visiting Maxine’s, I believe it needs to be advised when going to that hotel to use a different door. I experienced a hotel staff rudely ask what someone needed when they clearly had luggage and needed to find their room. Air conditioning would kick off through the night. It became uncomfortable. Also the front entrance floor and main entrance when wet. Need more flooring mats to assist with walking,
- 4/5
It’s a good room to have for sleeping and good showers. Rooftop pool is nice.
- 1/5
First of all, there was an awful smell, the floor was not leveled, no shower had no curtains so water flooded on the bathroom floor, bed was broken, decor was dated, house keeping went in my shoe and rearrange my jewelry, carpet was dirty in the hallway and the pool area was filthy. Expedia you should remove Catalina from your list
- 3/5
Stayed 3 nights. Room was not made up for 3d night. Phone did not work. One lamp did not work. Elevator did not work so had to lug luggage up several stair flights. Dingy musty carpet in stairs. Good location though and restaurant was good.

The hotel sucked! No hot water in my shower and the pool was not clean. Gross and I will never stay here again.

Clean room, nice staff
- 3/5
I wish the elevator worked.
- 2/5
The room was not very clean, and I didn't like walking through a restaurant to my room.
- 1.5/5
Location is a solid location and good value. I would normally give the hotel a 7 or 8 and it is a good location and value. However, I received a phantom charge of over $50. I contact the hotel and they told me to call billing. I called billing and they told me to call the hotel and said I would be getting a call from the hotel. I never received a call. I will be disputing this charge as no reason was given and not one person can identify the cause of the charge. I have stay here before, but I will be reluctant to stay here again.

Nice clean room with great view. Small but nice. Amenities were awesome. It was great using amenities at the three properties. Maria was the best at check in.
- 4/5
It was a good time loved the roof top pools
- 1/5
I was not very comfortable with this room the bed was uncomfortable. You had to continue walking up flights of steps because the elevator was broken. Do not stay on the trip if you want peace and quiet the staff that work at the restaurant below was very rude but the young lady who checked us in was very pleasant.
- 1/5
DO NOT BOOK HERE !!!!! it was filthy and bugs all around my headboard ! Me and my family got up and slept in the lobby for two hours because they had no extra room to accommodate us!!! someone was in the last empty room, squatting that they could not remove! Also none of the elevators work from the third floor down and boarded up with trash cans and vacuum cleaner, so no one tries to access the broken elevators DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY not to mention it was soooo much trash under are beds!!
- 3/5
All the rooms are inside of restaurants it’s weird. But over all it wasn’t a bad experience. Just different that you have to walk through a restaurant to get to your room.
- 3/5
The room was fasleh
- 1/5
The noise from both the restaurant and the stairwell made the entire night extremely disruptive. The main reason for my stay was to rest before traveling the next day, but I was unable to get any sleep. This was a very unpleasant experience and did not meet the basic expectations of a hotel stay. I am requesting a full refund or appropriate compensation.
- 4/5
Ac was cool room was nice hallways was getting done so minus on that but place was cool oh and I was on the party side so that was a minus cause the music sound like we was at the party other then that cool valet cool too
- 1/5
Badly maintained, the elevators not working, has to carry my bags tree floors. I don’t mind the stair, but not with my luggage
- 4/5
Pictures did not fully represent the room. Beds seemed to be a full size compared to a queen. Bed frame was very squeaky. Overall, it has the bare necessities but wish the pictures better represented.

Great location. Walkable to Convention Center (~10min). The Miami trolley stop (free) is nearby. A bit noisy Fri/Sat nights until ~11p with DJ and games if your room is in the Dorset building w/balconnet. The balconnet rooms open to a walled view.
- 3/5
The AC was good, the Elevator was out of service and our Room was on the 3rd Floor.
- 3/5
The theme of the hotel is really cool. However Hotel is very outdated needs upgrades badly. The shower water pressure isn’t good and the shower wasn’t as clean as it should’ve been unfortunately. One of the ladies at the front desk gave my friend and I a complementary breakfast voucher and the breakfast was pleasant I really appreciate that.
- 1/5
Checking staff was not helpful. Room was not ready at check in. Was told they would call when it was. At 7pm we still did not hear from front desk staff. Pool was not kept clean, pool furniture was in poor condition. Staff was not courteous. The only Ice machine was in the kitchen that the restaurant and guests both shared. Our room was clean and in good condition except the shower had mold and did not look like it was cleaned well. Had to haul our luggage to the adjacent building through the outdoor restaurant to reach the elevator to our room. Would not stay again and would not recommend!
- 4/5
Breakfast was boring. Over cooked and undercooked items. Wasn’t aloud to eat out side even tho it was empty. Most staff were excellent. Air worked well.

Location is awesome. Staff was friendly. TV didn’t always work. Called the front desk but nobody answered. I’m assuming they were busy.

Worst trip ever. Hair in the bed stains on the sheets. Staff never answer the phone. Very unprofessional. Hotel smells old never received my deposit back.
- 4/5
Loved the stay. Staff was very friendly and this was a perfect location. I am a huge fan of the rooftop pool experience, so very lovely. My only wish is that the room would have had more hangers or shelves as we were 3 who stayed in a room and it would’ve been helpful to have more space to put stuff. Aside from that, amazing experience.
- 1/5
The first room had a strong mold odor with visible mold on walls and windows. It was clearly uninhabitable. We were moved to a second room where water was leaking from the bathroom ceiling due to a broken air conditioner. The noise was constant, and the situation was unsafe. Maintenance came but did not fix the issue and left the bathroom and AC partially dismantled. We were then shown a third room. It had the same mold smell as the first room, and the air conditioner was loud and malfunctioning. At this point, it was clear the hotel could not provide a proper room. We did not stay overnight and had to leave and book another hotel at our own expense. Despite this, a refund was not properly processed. The location is good, but the condition of the rooms and the handling of the situation are unacceptable. This reflects a failure to meet basic health, safety, and service standards.

The room was lovely, but the hotel staff wasn’t very knowledgeable during check in . Also they didn’t let us know that the elevator wasn’t working previous to booking that was a major inconvenience since my mom is disabled. Good for two nights sleep though
- 3/5
For the price and location, it's fine. I didn't see any bugs and the bed was fine. Some things were redone in the room, some are still ancient. Lots of noise though.. the fridge, the ac unit in the balcony door, the actual air duct in the ceiling, you can hear every detail that happens through the walls / doors.
- 3/5
I stayed in the maxine building and its was not as expected, I woke up to roaches in my room and the bathroom, I had to be moved to the main building the Catalina where I expected to stay originally the phones weren’t working it took them forever to bring us wash cloths it’s wasn’t horrible however it wasn’t worth the money spent the room in the Catalina was a bit better no roaches obviously and the sheets were a bit better quality. I would come back however I’d like to avoid the Maxine building.

Fun place

Pool needs to be cleaner
- 5/5
This was my first time in Miami and we chose the best place to stay. They are awesome, everything about the The hotel and beach club is amazing the price location staff and super clean and helpful. And p.s. is you drive please use their valentine parking best in town.
- 5/5
Nos vemos pronto! 🙏
- 2/5
No room ready when we checked in at 850pm. Had to stay in alternate building on third floor, no elevator. Building in poor repair. Stayed 2 nites, no room clean. Would not recommend.
- 2/5
The pictures of the room didn’t match. You would think the hotel would at least have complimentary coffee or a microwave but they didn’t. The pool is extremely small.
- 3/5
The elevator did not work. 40 min walk to Ocean drive or 9-10min drive
- 5/5
Location and price is nice
- 2/5
The only good part of the hotel was the cleaning staff , and their manager. The front staff was very snotty and never helpful. Would not ever return
- 3/5
Its not what you see in the pic the staff very good but the place absolutely not worth it
- 4/5
- 1/5
The hotel was great and the staff were lovely but they changed our room without telling us then refused to refund us for that. They gave us another room and “discounted” us the different between the room we booked and the one we got so essentially I paid full price for a room I didn’t book. He was not accommodating at all.
- 2/5
The property was very dirty the cleaning it was terrible
- 2/5
There are actually 3 properties in which you can stay. We ended up in an adjacent property that was co-located with Taco Taco restaurant. We rented a junior suite thinking it would be larger with a seating area - it was a basic hotel room. The room was dated, the noise from outside could be heard until midnight, and the A/C rattled. Definitely never again .....
- 3/5
Staff was awesome. Lobby was very nice and smelled amazing. Other building not as much. Always had musky smell and room wasn't very clean. Hair still in shower, on pillow and tags from previous guests still on floor.
- 4/5
Good stay, a bit noisy as the rooms are above resturants. It was good for a quick stay.
- 3/5
Long lines
- 4/5
Quaint, and in the center of the beautiful art Deco area. Very convenient to the beach and restaurants, bars, etc. Quaintness of facilities may take some getting used to. Great overall!
- 5/5
Easy stay, quick one night for us..
- 3/5
Room was clean. Staff not so friendly. Our room was right by the bar and we heard loud music and talking all night long til about 4am. It was a great location in the middle of everything but would not stay there again.
- 5/5
Maria was great and so helpful!!
- 3/5
Hotel in need of remodeling.. especially bathroom. Clean linens- good for 1 night.
- 5/5
One of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in Miami. Everything was smooth and enjoyable—from the friendly staff to the comfortable rooms. The vibe is fun yet relaxing. I would highly recommend it to friends and family!
- 5/5
Fantastic hotel! The staff made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The rooms are modern, clean, and well-maintained. Great value for the price and in an unbeatable location. 5 stars all the way!
- 5/5
This place is a hidden gem! The service was top-notch and the amenities were excellent. I especially loved the pool area—it’s perfect for unwinding after a day out. Can’t wait to return!
- 4/5
service at front desk was pleasant experience WIFI was present and then it stopped
- 3.5/5
bad smell at the lobby and room corridor
- 0.5/5
Location Small, unclean room completely different from the picture on booking site. The loudest air conditioning I’ve ever heard about a meter from the bed. Unfriendly staff unwilling to be helpful.
- 3.5/5
All this was excellent The elevator was not working at all during our stay, and the carpet need to be scrubbed and shampooed really good.
- 1/5
MY ROOM HAD NO HEAT AND IT WAS 59 OUTSIDE AND MY ROOM FULLS LIKE OUTSIDE WENT TO THE FRONTDEST AND THEY TOLD ME THEY HAVE NO HEAT AT ALL GET SOME HEAT FOR THE COLD DAYS

location - we keep picking this hotel because of the location. Valet let us keep the car with them until 1PM previous it was only to checkout time 11AM breakFast buffet could have had more choices but for the cost was reasonable
- 3.5/5
Location. Bellman were great. Bed great. Shower not comfortable. I stayed in the second building and I couldn’t find the entrance. The bellman was helpful.
- 4.5/5
Great location, great amenities, friendly staff, accommodating, nice larger room, value Nothing I can think of
- 4.5/5
Great location Nothing
- 3/5
There are many beautiful spaces in the hotel at the bars, restaurants pool, and lobby area, but that stops once you start walking to the room. The property is showing its age between the broken elevator, the stained carpets, holes in the wall and oddly missing amenities (like a toilet paper holder?) If you are looking for a basic room, with a decent bed and a clean room to sleep, it meets the requirement. The staff and service do try to make up for the age of the property. Great front desk staff, a free happy hour, available beach towels and regular cleanings. It’s a great staff trying to make the best of a broken down hotel.
- 5/5
This hotel made my Miami vacation unforgettable. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. The rooms were stylish and spotless, and the whole property had a vibrant energy. I highly recommend Catalina Hotel to anyone visiting Miami Beach!
- 5/5
i stayed here for a weekend trip with friends and we had the best time. The hotel has such a cool boutique feel. Everything was clean and well maintained. Being able to walk everywhere made our trip so convenient. Five stars!
- 5/5
Catalina Hotel exceeded my expectations. The service was excellent from check-in to check-out. The rooftop pool area has such a great atmosphere, and the drinks were fantastic. The location in South Beach couldn’t be better!
- 5/5
Such a fun and stylish hotel! The vibe is lively but still comfortable. My room was clean, modern, and very cozy. I also appreciated the beach access and complimentary chairs. Perfect place for a Miami getaway!
- 5/5
I absolutely loved my stay at Catalina Hotel! The location is perfect — just steps from the beach and close to amazing restaurants and nightlife. The rooftop pool was my favorite spot to relax. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I’ll definitely be back!
- 4/5
Room was clean and spacious.

I will never stay at this hotel again. First when we realized we would be late checking in I called the hotel to confirm how late I could check in, I had to call five times before getting a representative. Next when we arrived I was told my bank card (Chime) wasn’t considered a real bank card so I couldn’t use it. This was not mentioned at booking, on the hotel website nor hotels.com. Nor was this information given when I called. Next after having to move money to another bank card luckily I had others, we asked about parking. I was told “it’s three blocks down” or pay $45 a night for valet. No specific street number or name was given for the parking either. Luckily we found street parking. After parking we headed to our room, I ask an employee how to get to the room because it was in a separate entrance from where we checked in and he told me which way to go. The employee as well as the desk attendant failed to inform us the elevator was out! Now we had to climb several flights of stairs mind you my sister has leg and swelling issues. We passed others coming down the stairs complaining they found out upon arrival as well and wouldn’t have booked there had they known in advance. Next, the stairs were dirty like they haven’t cleaned the carpet in years, the hotel had an odor they tried to mask with spray and the room was dirty. Our sheets were not fresh they visibly had black marks, the phone cord was broken and more. I emailed management and have yet to receive a reply/refund
- 1/5
Location is the only plus. The room was outdated, missing basic amenities, and not as advertised. Dirty/smelly hallways, smoking nearby, no response to complaints, bad breakfast, and the promised $102 discount wasn’t applied.
- 1/5
While the staff was accommodating, they were having to accommodate for issues that shouldn’t have been happening. There were bugs in rooms, toilets clogging, and the continental breakfast very lacking. We checked in with a price in our head but when we arrived, had to pay almost an additional $1000. When we tried to dispute that charge with Expedia, the hotel lied to Expedia and said we stole towels, a sheet, and a pillow. Lies, lies, lies. If we had outgoing charges, don’t you think they would’ve contacted us by now? No emails, no calls, and no problems checking out. On top of that, they allowed us to stay an extra day. Which means they had all the opportunity in the world to let us know about any “missing” or “stolen” items. Do not stay here. Collins Avenue is a great area for access to the beach, but staying at this hotel is not worth it. There are tons of neighboring hotels, I highly recommend staying at any one of those.
- 4/5
The room service options were limited, but the room was always clean. The best part of the stay was the excellent location.
- 4/5
Location of the hotel is very good , staff was very friendly as well . The only downside was during our stay the elevator was Out of service and the room was on 3rd floor . Had the elevator been working it would have been ideal . Beach approximity is very good .
- 1/5
From the service to the cleaning, this place deserves 0 stars. Calling it a hotel is a joke — it feels like a terrible hostel, but worse. There’s a strong mold smell everywhere, and everything feels dirty. Save your money and avoid this place at all costs.
- 3/5
Elevator did not work for whole week, carpets were dirty, very outdated rooms... waited for clean towels for hours each day.
- 3/5
Room was OK for the price and location. Advertised on expedia as having parking but it was $43 a night valet parking only. The water pressure in shower was weak and it didn't really get hot. The AC was set to freezing cold and we figured it out eventually how to turn it down. Staff was kinda uninterested in having any sort of conversation and never said hi (maybe a local thing) and a request for a towel (for a shower I wanted to take immediately) took half a day. The price was OK for what we got comparatively, but I would have paid a bit more to get better/friendlier service, a larger room, and clearer understanding of the parking situation and a room with modern amenities like a remote control that actually works.
- 3/5
Door needed a refitting because it was difficult to close. The smart tv was not linked up to the internet or antenna which limited viewing options extensively. The elevator was out but we were made aware on check in. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning was very effective.
- 1/5
Noisy, rooms are too small, the bathroom didn’t have a towel rack or toilet paper holder. The room could had been cleaner, there was an odor of urine in the room. Not a happy about the rating Expedia gave this hotel.
- 1/5
Water pressure was weird. Weird entrance/hard to find where your room is.
- 4/5
The staff was extremely polite; however, the struggle was the limited amount of wash clothes available.
- 5/5
Amazing service throughout our stay. Room was spotless, very spacious, and had great amenities. Hotel is also in perfect location with walking distance from all popular spots in South Beach. Will definitely be coming back in the future!
- 2/5
Loud pounding music from the restaurant downstairs until midnight.
- 3/5
The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The air conditioning was a noisy in-window unit that made sleeping difficult.
- 5/5
This was my first time in Miami and I’m so glad I chose Catalina Hotel & Beach Club! The location couldn’t be better — close to everything but still peaceful at night. The room was stylish and very clean. The staff made the whole experience even better with their friendliness and great recommendations. Five stars all the way!
- 5/5
I stayed at Catalina for a mix of work and vacation, and it was perfect. Fast WiFi, comfortable workspace in the room, and plenty of spots to relax after meetings. The beach access made it easy to unwind, and the on-site dining options were excellent. The staff was attentive and efficient, always ready to help. Great balance of fun and comfort!
- 5/5
I traveled solo and felt completely safe and comfortable at Catalina. The location is perfect — walking distance to Ocean Drive but tucked away enough to relax. The rooftop pool was my favorite spot to unwind after the beach. Staff was attentive and always smiling. Great value for the area, and the design has that cool Miami vibe. I’ll definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend and absolutely loved it. The hotel has a fun, energetic atmosphere but still feels relaxed and comfortable. The complimentary beach chairs were a huge plus. The room was spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable. The front desk team went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend for a Miami getaway!
- 5/5
We had the BEST time at Catalina Hotel & Beach Club! The location is unbeatable — just steps from the beach and close to amazing restaurants and nightlife. The rooftop pool was such a vibe, with great music and delicious cocktails. The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was clean, modern, and super comfortable. Can’t wait to come back with the girls!
- 1/5
No towels rude staff
- 1/5
MOLD IN SHOWER LEAK IN CEILING NO ONE EVER REACHED OUT OR APOLOGIZED Not to mention you can't keep your bags there at all on day of check out.
- 4/5
Clean room, great area!
- 4/5
Overall very nice and a good value.
- 1/5
We booked three king-bed rooms, but one was provided with a queen bed instead. The bathrooms did not match the listing photos, and one room was an undisclosed accessibility room with an unusable shower. Water also flooded from the bathroom into the room.
- 1/5
Worst experience, they gave us top floor and lifts were not working as well.. we had to lift our bags all the way upstairs
- 1/5
The smell was the worst thing. The cleanliness was a close second. The rooms were not as advertised. We showered in our flip flops. When water got on the floor from the shower I dried it with a towel. The towel was then black. I cannot express how bad the experience was.
- 2/5
Room was nice but the service was not. Hotel guest had police called in them during our stay. Free drink in the bar for Happy Hour, couldnt get someone to help us. We were actually going to stay and drink and hang out. Gave up after standing there for 15 mins.
- 1/5
The property is not well represented on this site. The room was dingy, didn’t feel safe and was above a restaurant that played music 24/7.
- 4/5
Friendly staff, clean hotel
- 5/5
Clean room good stay
- 4/5
It's very dated but fine for the little time we spent there. Hard to get wash clothes for some reason. Bar and Taco Taco were great
- 1/5
Room felt neglected , sheets were filthy after telling the front desk serval times. got stuck in the elevator for 15 minutes had to call 911( fire department) to get doors open. & when telling the front desk the situation they were very careless and insensitive. Manager lacked empathy for the situation. 0/10 do not recommend staying here!!! not very guest friendly or accommodating.
- 2/5
Not too clean
- 4/5
Great location for walking and transportation. Right across the street from the Beach, and great roof top view. Staff was friendly, hotel could be maintained a little better, the halls and floors leading to the room could use some renovation. My only complaint would be I could hear running water from my room, not sure why this was.. & the cleaning staff was constantly talking in the hallways, but for the price of the hotel & location I felt it was still a good stay.
- 5/5
This hotel exceeded my expectations. It’s stylish, affordable, and close to everything. The staff went above and beyond when we needed recommendations for nightlife and dining. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
The location can’t be beat. You’re right in the middle of South Beach but still able to relax. Staff at the front desk were welcoming and efficient. Would recommend for couples or friends traveling together.
- 5/5
Perfect hotel for a girls’ trip! The beach access and pool scene were amazing. Everything felt lively but still comfortable. The beds were surprisingly comfy, and housekeeping did a great job. Loved it!
- 5/5
Really enjoyed my time here. The vibe is fun and very Miami! The rooms are modern and clean, although a bit cozy. The complimentary happy hour was a nice touch. Great value for the location.
- 5/5
I had such a great stay at Catalina Hotel & Beach Club! The location is perfect, just a short walk to the beach and close to tons of restaurants and shops. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The pool area was definitely my favorite spot. I would absolutely stay here again!
- 5/5
- 1/5
The experience was terrible from start to finish. I reported a missing blinds wand to housekeeping so I could close the blinds. They said they were coming — nobody ever showed up. When I followed up again, housekeeping told me I had to go to the front desk myself. Instead of actually replacing the wand, the desk staff just closed the blinds and left me with no way to adjust them afterward. As the night went on, I noticed more issues: A hairball in the room Warped flooring A rug covering what looked like a black stain or possible mold A loose/missing light switch cover A toilet seat with a burn hole or serious damage On top of that, the staff seemed more interested in arguing than fixing anything. Problems aren’t resolved — they’re just covered up like a temporary bandage. Definitely would not recommend staying here.
- 2/5
The room smelled bad and there were white hairs all over the floor and in the sheets.
- 1/5
The hotel changed my reservation from a double room to a single when we checked in. We requested a double room and had to wait until the next day. There was no hot water, elevator was not functioning correctly, people got stuck twice and the fire department was called. Television in the room did not work, no wifi, no airport shuttle. Management was rude, they never answered the phone. Sheets on the bed were stained. No complimentary amenities. No wash clothes, water flood from showers, door was broken, There was a homeless person sleeping in the hallway. Trash cans in hallway were overflowing with trash. No heat.
- 5/5
Hotel was nice , easy transportation to the airport. No complaints!!!
- 5/5
The Room Was A Lil Cold & The Shower Was Not As Hot. I Was Able To Play My Music From My Bluetooth Speaker & I Had It Pretty Loud & I Didn’t Get A Noise Complaint …
- 4/5
Was ok but for the price I can’t complain too much. The taco place was good food.
- 5/5
Always so clean
- 3/5
They don’t provide water in this hotel
- 2/5
Our room was disgusting and felt dirty the minute we walked in it. I didn’t even want to brush my teeth it felt so dirty. I would never stay here again. It’s old and outdated.
- 5/5
Great location in South Beach. Staff very accommodating.
- 4/5
The fridge was room temperature even on the lowest setting, and the reception desk advised that it can't store medicine. The ergonomics in the bathroom are very poor; the daily fee for amenities/towel service is steep, and doesn't include a cot at the beach - unlike other hotels on the strip, which include towel service and cot at no additional cost. Happy hour and the pool were very good.
- 3/5
Room fine staff for the most part was fine. Im certain whoever cleaned my room stole my winter scarfs but whatever
- 4/5
really nothing to complain about.
- 1/5
All the above! The room was most disgusting hotel I have ever seen especially as a family and a baby! As soon as you enter the walkway very strong odor of drugs and marijuana floors were beyond dirty. The room is very old stains on the bed and sheets from just entering expecting there new sheets! The room feels like a prison very dark and of the somehwat removed sticker film on the window and literally room right next to the dumpster and loud crates being thrown every hour or so waking my baby in the middle of the night! We had such a HORRIBLE experience for such a beautiful city of Miami. We thought to try this hotel because of the convenient location since we do come to Miami as a family often, but NEVER again sill stick with the hotels we know best!

It was a pleasure to stay
- 2/5
It was very loud the lights didn’t work at all neither did the television
- 2/5
I’ve stated this hotel several times before I had a great time however, at this time was a bit different. The room was missing several light sources. The TV did not work and there was no remote we were told it could be fixed the next day which we were checking out. The staff was a bit rude.
- 2/5
dirty room, they also charge you a $68 reservation fee when you get there.
- 5/5
The room was exceptional. It was cleaned to standards. The staff was very professional and the amenities was great. I just love the friendliness of everyone. They made us feel very welcomed. Well book again.
- 2/5
Friendly staff. A/C did not work. Room a bit dated.
- 3/5
The app says it offers airport shuttle services. I contacted the hotel and was told no we do not offer this service. Then when we arrived it was 3:50 pm check in time 4pm . We waited till 4:40 in the lobby for our room. that was booked 2 weeks ago to be cleaned . The room itself was nice but if check out time is 11 am why does it take so long to get them ready ?
- 2/5
Room was definitely the dirtiest I’ve stayed in my 28 years of life. Stains all over the bedding, as well as the towels and wash cloths. I didn’t have a busy sign to put outside my door so the room service just kept entering before checkout everyday, then essentially did nothing. They would take my wash cloths and not bring any back. Room was hard to breathe in & couldn’t open windows. Wouldn’t stay here again if you paid me
- 1/5
Poor staff not clean will never stay there again
- 5/5
Highly recommend Hotel Catalina! Great value, great location, and great service. Everything was within walking distance, and the hotel had a relaxed, stylish vibe that really felt like Miami.
- 5/5
The location alone makes it worth it—close to the ocean, shops, and restaurants. The room was clean and well maintained, and the overall atmosphere was fun and welcoming.
- 5/5
Such a great experience! The hotel has a cool, modern feel and a very laid-back Miami vibe. Our room was spotless and cozy, and the location made exploring South Beach super easy
- 5/5
Hotel Catalina was the perfect place to stay in South Beach. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was lively but relaxing. We loved being able to walk everywhere, especially to the beach
- 5/5
Loved our stay at Hotel Catalina! The vibe is fun and stylish, and the location is unbeatable—just steps from the beach and surrounded by great restaurants and nightlife. The room was clean, comfortable, and perfect for our Miami getaway.
- 1/5
Hotel room smelled like mildew an left an order in my clothes tv also did not work bed was clean though it was a good place to just sleep an wake up the cot should have been 20 a night
- 2/5
The hotel was nice, I didn’t realise it was split across three different buildings and had bars/restaurant’s, which was fine. However, you could hear outside very easily, so I didn’t get a good sleep. I also went to go to the pool at 9:50am the doors were locked, the pool should have been open from 9am and finally I asked to hold my luggage until 6pm as my flight was in the evening and they said they couldn’t hold past 2pm due to limited space (3 buildings remember). I asked if there was a storage place nearby and the receptionist gave me the details and said it’s 7USD when I arrive they informed me it’s 7USD per luggage including my backpack plus tax. So I paid over 20USD just to hold my luggage for 6 hours. I’ve stayed in hotels where they were able to hold it for days, for free.
- 2/5
The room had no vents In The bathroom. no amenities example no microwave, no staff available if needed ,no ice buckets ,no common area to dine at ,and no internet.it was out of range . The carpets were filthy and was very smelly. Restaurant staff were very unwelcoming asked for ice and a staff member instructed us to grab it ourselves from the back of the kitchen.
- 2/5
The location is great! But it was very dirty. The rooms definitely need some TLC. Staff was decently friendly but overwhelmed. The photos are VERY deceiving; it does not look as nice in person. There were bugs everywhere - one was even squished and left on the mirror in the room. I wish we would have stayed elsewhere.
- 3/5
The room was nice enough. Everything else including staff hallways and exterior was lacking
- 5/5
Only thing to consider is when you book with Expedia, Catalina charges a $36 resort fee per night in addition to a $100 deposit per booking, so keep that in consideration. All in all a good experience, Catalina's complimentary breakfast is great with both coffee and orange juice.
- 5/5
Nice staff. Temperatures dropped low due to weather and we got extra blankets right away on request! The restaurant attached called taco taco has the most amazing food!!!!!
- 3/5
The sheets were clean, the beds were comfortable. We were there for one night- served our purpose.
- 2/5
The room was decent but the service there was terrible. I tried to check in early around 1pm they stated the room wasn’t ready yet & check in is at 4pm but most likely can check in at 3pm which I was fine with. Hours later the room still wasn’t ready I didn’t get to check in until 6pm waited all those hours in the lobby with my kids getting so tired. They also seem very strict with the amount of bath towels & face towels I only received 2 of each. Called the front desk, the hotel directly, and texted a help number for more the next day & got no response. I called so many times throughout the day nobody ever answers the phone! Housekeeping never came around no plastic or glass cups in the room, I was not accommodated enough for my troubles I just would never stay here again or recommend this hotel
- 4/5
My stay was ok, but could have been better.
- 2/5
- 3/5
Decent hotel. Great location but the room could use some love. There was a screw sticking up out of the floor near the bathroom. Stubbed my toe, lucky I didn't step on it.
- 1/5
The room smells terrible; room window was open when we checked in, then we noted that the window was not able to be closed. There was no response after multiple attempts via phone and text messages. The room phone is also broken which did not work at all. We slept in the cold at night. What a terrible experience!
- 5/5
We were on our way home from our 30th anniversary trip to the keys. We sat at airport all day before airline cancelled flight at 1:00 in the morning. At that point no flights, hotels, or rental cars. We were stranded in Miami with flight cancellations and no luggage. We couldn’t get a flight out for 2 days. The staff was so kind. They attempted early check in, updated our room and brought a bottle of wine to the room once we were able to check in. Loved Maxine’s. Our server Adrian was the best.

Priced right
- 4/5
Nice rooms. Good restaurant and bar
- 5/5
Very friendly and helpful staff. Loved the Taco Taco restaurant and the rooftop pool!
- 1/5
The way they advertised the room, is definitely not what you get. I was in the building next door. The room was old looking. The shower was leaking the whole time which mad the floor wet. The bathroom sink had hair in it. They didn’t have any towels or rags in the room. To top it off, they didn’t even have a phone in the room, so I had to go outside( next door) to the desk to ask for help.
- 5/5
This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. The quality of service, the comfort of the room, and the overall atmosphere were exceptional. It truly feels like a premium experience.
- 5/5
My stay at this hotel was absolutely outstanding. From the moment I arrived, everything felt well organized and welcoming. The room was spacious, extremely clean, and very comfortable. The staff was always available and genuinely kind. I would definitely choose this hotel again without hesitation.
- 5/5
A perfect experience. The location was ideal, the room was beautiful, and the staff made us feel at home.
- 5/5
This hotel exceeded all my expectations. The comfort, service, and attention to detail were outstanding. Worth every penny.
- 3/5
The room was fine, but no wash cloths or ice bucket. The staff was kind and polite, but their English was limited. The only real problem is the layout. The hotel is actually 3 separate buildings. I was in the one on the right (above Maxine's Bistro), and the only way in or out is through the outdoor dining area and then through the bar area immediately inside, before reaching the small elevator. I felt very uncomfortable each time I had to pass through, and I can't imagine what the diners and bar patrons felt either. They ARE dog friendly, which is why I chose them, but be aware that there is no on-site parking, and the valet service is NOT owned by the hotel. It is a separate business and an additional cost to consider. There was nothing truly wrong or bad about my experience, but I doubt that I will choose to stay there again.
- 5/5
The lady that helps with pool towels and luggage was very friendly.
- 2/5
The staff at night was not nice and wouldn’t even answer questions nice
- 2/5
Couldn't shut the bathroom door. Bathroom had hairs on the wall and floor. Was gross..

Rooms very noisy, hotel was very noisy and if you want to have time to sleep a little bit longer then this is not the hotel for you. Toilet was not flushing right, food was okay, and internet service was off all the time. Manager kept saying he will take care of it, and nothing was ever done. We had to switch hotel in the middle of our stay for better service, and overall a better hotel that we wanted to enjoy.
- 5/5
Would definitely book again. At check in other guests had so many complaints I was kinda scared I booked. However I did my own due diligence and called ahead and confirmed booking and any extras I may need to know. So check in for me was super smooth. After room assignment I was sooo excited it was clean secluded! I booked the king terrace which was a penthouse suite. Loved it breakfast was simple and seasoned well gooh hot food. Was so convient for food walkable to the beach and the shops. Staff was cool my only complaint was the valet which as expensive as it was the wait time was ridiculous even at 3am I had a 5 am flight almost missed it waiting 45 minutes for valet. Overall I'd still book again!!!

Room small. Bathroom window didn’t close. Walk through restaurant to get to room.

Everything
- 1/5
The air in the room felt heavy and stale with a musty, mold-like odor. The elevator also had noticeable odor and appeared dirty.
- 2/5
I came into my room and the tv remote wasn't the right remote, the room dont have a microwave and no house keeping ever came so i took my own garbage down daily..the room i had with the private balcony/deck was really small..also my 1st night j asked them for a ice bucket and had to keep asking
- 2/5
We stay at maxine's restaurant building side, we notice the carpet dirty and bad smelling, the elevator too small and disgusting, that place was noise as well, need a total renovation. We will never comeback there. Sorry!!!
- 4/5
It's a nice hotel
- 1/5
The hotel and the rooms are dirty. There is no safe and no microwave, despite what is stated on the website. There is also no clear information: we were given only a black-and-white flyer with minimal details about check-in, check-out, and the Wi-Fi password, which is not secure at all. The staff is unkind and impolite, and some of them do not speak English at all. They struggle to answer properly and keep repeating the same information like robots, especially when we request a service they clearly do not want to provide, probably because of management instructions. They claim that rooms are cleaned every three days — unbelievable — but in reality, the room was never properly cleaned during our six-day stay. They only replaced the towels. That was their idea of “cleaning.” There was no bathroom mat for the shower, and the floor was very greasy and slippery. We were even given a dirty pack of tissues with a greasy package. During five nights of our stay, the floor and the bathroom were never cleaned. Very small space to store/hang clothes. It is UNACCEPTABLE that Expedia keeps recommending it to customers. Our stay was ruined as we never felt comfortable. we will send a formal claim regarding this.
- 1/5
Breakfast was not included, however, lots of good places around to eat.
- 1/5
They left the floors wet and my mom nearly slipped and fell. Workers said “they’re working on it” Somebody get OSHA and the health board here. The carpets smelled like every dog in Miami has peed on them. Our room didn’t even have towels; we had to hunt down housekeeping, and they barely handed us two bath towels, no hand towels, no face towels. Need anymore? The only response is “no towels no towels no towels” what kind of hotel is this? And all of this after waiting 6 hours for a 4:00 PM check-in. Unacceptable.
- 1/5
We were putting a different hotel, we made reservations for the Catalina, but they put us in a cat fleet hotel, what a joke what a disgusting joke, pathetic, these people need to have the property condemned, for the price of money we paid, what a joke and I want a refund
- 1/5
I give it a four out of 10 because the toilet was not properly working the fridge. It was a very small wonky fridge, and the staff was a bit rude with the exception of the bartender Marco at the other building and the staff who helped me and she actually took me upstairs other than that it was a terrible experience and as a woman I wasn’t able to use the bathroom that was terrible.
- 3/5
they own the property next door which i did see when i booked but i booked Catalina specifically but they put me next door. Also the front desk attendant was not there when we came to check in. 15 mins later he came strolling down the street. After finally getting checked in he wrote our room number on the room card sleeve and it was barely ledgible and i walked into the wrong room with a drunk couple knocked out (they didnt shut the door all the way). i went back and he was gone from the desk again and now there were several people waiting. while i waited i figured out what our room number was and went back. the rooftop was under construction also. the mexican restaurant downstairs was decent but i probably wont stay here again.
- 3/5
great condition and location.
- 1/5
No running water in the bathroom. No hot water in the shower. No towels. No safe. No shuttle to airport. The did not allow us to leave our suitcases in safe room. Poor service. Avoid at all cost
- 2/5
Poor service. Room conditions were sub optimal - intermittently working AC, no WiFi, Toilet had bad sewer smells. No Coffee machine or phoone in the room. Loud bass noises from the bar vibrated into the walls.
- 3/5
Bathroom ceiling was leaking. Hall carpets were stained. Inadequate storage for luggage when we needed to store them prior to and after check-in.
- 3/5
Perfect if you want to be in the mix.. loud music is a definite until late hours.
- 1/5
My room smells dead people ! It was terrible never again !
- 2/5
The phone in the room didn’t work and even after asking was not fixed. Expedia also was not clear on a number of things 1. Cleaning of room only every 3 days 2. Additional resort fee 30/day 3. No complimentary beverage unless book directly 4. No facilities to make coffee in room or get water It was very dissapointing The pictures look far better than it is In the past Expedia has been very accurate
- 5/5
Yes everything was great

Perfect location. Easy check in/check out.
- 1/5
The staff was extremely rude , they told us we could bring our bags down at 7 am to since our flight was alittle later then they proceed to check us out the hotel without our knowledge and way before 11 am the time they told us and knocked and banged on our door until we left then we we went to get our bags they didn’t want to give them to us acting like we wanted to steal our own luggage . Staff is very dismissive ESPECIALLY if you are POC
- 1/5
The room we were in was abit run down. Disappointed. Area was good. Front desk only answered when you call from the room. Otherwise you just keep calling and calling. Overall it was ok.
- 1/5
absolutely TERRIBLE stay. We will be reporting back to Expedia on this issue. from night one we faced sooo many issues. Hidden fees, smelly rooms, broken tv and phone and cupboards, no cleaning, no dj, smelly area. Worst of all the staff was SO rude. Not even just a lack of customer service but a lack of human decency. They were hostile, rude, disrespectful and made me and my daughter feel unsafe. DO NOT STAY HERE.

We came to South Beach Miami with excitement and high expectations. The moment we checked into this hotel, that excitement disappeared completely. The room was shockingly small, cramped, and nothing like what is advertised online or on booking platforms. The photos are misleading. What you see on the internet is not what you get in reality. The biggest failure, and absolutely unacceptable, was the air-conditioning. The window AC unit did not work for our entire two-night stay. The room became unbearably hot at night. My family and I spent both nights sweating, uncomfortable, and unable to sleep properly. This is Miami. A non-working AC is not a minor issue. It is a deal breaker. I complained to the front desk multiple times. The response was careless and dismissive. No fix. No technician. No room change. Nothing. We were simply ignored and left to suffer through the heat. That is not service. That is negligence. Housekeeping was equally poor. The room felt poorly maintained, and the overall condition showed clear signs of neglect. For the price charged, this is unacceptable. During check-in, I personally witnessed another couple having a heated argument with the front desk about the same problems. At the time, I thought they were exaggerating. I was wrong. I experienced exactly what they were arguing about. I genuinely do not understand how this hotel has an 8 rating. That rating is completely misleading. This property is a 3 rati
- 1/5
Bathroom shower was the worst. There was only half shower door, and the water splashed out pooled in bathroom after every wash. Room phone didn't work. Housekeeping was every 3 days, but even on the 3rd day, the housekeeping wasn't done the whole day until we came back from outside after 5pm. It wasn't convenient at that hour so we had to skip it. So literally no room service for 5 nights except for when we requested additional towels. We also had to request change of bedding because it was dirty when we moved in.
- 4/5
Our family enjoyed the location
- 2/5
Broken safe, no internet at all! Horrible experience!
- 1/5
I canceled over a month, I paid a cancellation fee to get a refund in case, up to now I didn’t receive the refund
- 5/5
El trato, la comida todo fue buenísimo, me hubiera gustado tener un cuarto diferente ya que no se parecía al de las fotos, pero aparte de eso todo fue excelente, y lo mejor de todo, es que todo queda cerquita.
- 1/5
Room not secure, balcony door lock broke, maintenance did not fix nor did they try to change room, no towels, washcloths nor bedding changed or bed made no cable, or internet overall uncomfortable leaving belongings and unsecure
- 2/5
Room was less than desirable. Looked nothing like the pictures. Disheartening to be charged a resort fee for a less than 12 hr stay checked in after 11 pm with be gone before 11 am. Slow check in process. Just not an enjoyable experience!

This hotel exceeded my expectations in many ways. The room comfort, cleanliness, and overall organization were outstanding. The staff clearly takes pride in providing a high-end guest experience.
- 5/5
My experience at this hotel was excellent from start to finish. The room was stylish, comfortable, and impeccably clean. The staff was always available and handled everything with professionalism and care.
- 5/5
A top-quality hotel in every sense. The facilities are excellent, the rooms are very comfortable, and the attention to detail really stands out. I felt well taken care of throughout my stay.
- 5/5
An exceptional stay overall. The hotel is beautifully maintained, and the level of comfort is outstanding. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
- 5/5
An excellent choice for a premium stay. The cleanliness, comfort, and overall atmosphere were exceptional. Every detail reflected quality and thoughtful hospitality.
- 5/5
We can’t wait to come back!
- 1/5
Dirty toilet on arrival, insect bites during the stay, and bugs found in the bed. A personal item went missing and later reappeared, raising serious security concerns. Staff blamed bugs on humidity and “deep cleaning” did not fix the issue. Unsafe, unsanitary, and unacceptable. Avoid this hotel.
- 1/5
called office to report a problem and got NO answer!! Had to get dressed and walk down the street to the main lobby to complain about a problem that they never fixed!!! Room was FREEZING (heat blew out cold air) when asked to move my room they dismissed me and my room wasn’t changed!! Ana at the front desk gave my bag to a man who lied about it being his!! Luckily I was standing there to witness it happen or my $150 sneakers would have been gone when I got back !!

affordable price for a quick getaway , friendly staff

Staff at check out was rude to every customer. There was a lady with glasses that didn’t want to take our luggage for hold for 1.5 hours just enough for us to eat at the attached restaurant establishment. She told the other female to tell us no. We saw the room where the luggage and there was plenty of room. We quickly realized that the lady with glasses only said yes to holding luggage if you handed her money right away as a tip. We usually tip at pick up. We watched her rushing everyone away from the desk. Wouldn’t come here again.
- 5/5
Great staff, amazing location - Great vibes from Taco Taco their restaurant - the rooms were spacious
- 3/5
The room door is not secured to the frame. You can push the door open while it’s locked from the top. Most of the staff were pleasant. The environment is inviting. The room needs an upgrade. The bedding was clean and I recommend bringing your own towel and wash cloth
- 4/5
I did not add breakfast. The AC runs very well, maybe even too well. Even when you turn the AC off, there is an overhead fan (directly over the bed} that runs non-stop. You cannot turn it off. It kept the room cold even though I didn't want it to. I ended up with the post-nasal drip the day before my last day. The room was very clean but had a slight odor to it that could not be neutralized with air freshener. I was happy that I was able to stay in my room even though I had two reservations (same room type). I wish I would have looked up what a Juliet balcony was before I paid the extra price for. I didn't appreciate the extra deposit fee on top of the other taxes and resort fees that were listed.

The Lady who checked in for Reservation was cruel and not kind at all,i made a Reservation thru Hotels.com and i had my Credit Card, then she refused to let me check.in. because my Chime Card was not accepted, i had 1000$ in Cash and that wasn't good enough neither, and then on a Thursday Night i had to walk around and try to find another Room, very, very disappointing,
- 1/5
The room was dirty, smelled bad, old with broken floors, it had no telephone, terrible.
- 1/5
I have to say that this was not the greatest experience. The check in was great and so was the front staff. The issues began when I had to go to the building where my room was. I stopped by the bar as there was not front desk, a manager was making drinks, no greeting I asked where do I go for my room he just said elevator. I eventually found my way up. Musty room, bed with hairs and 2 lizards in the room. I go downstairs for a meal and I’m told sit wherever, I sit by the window, 20 minutes until the server comes she takes my order and that was the last I see of her. I had to ask for a drink from the bar cause she was non existent. Food came, cold fries and chewy chicken. So bad. I asked for the check by having to stand and look for someone, service charge is included which was so ridiculous because no one did anything to deserve the automatic gratuity. I always over tip as I’m in the industry but wow this entire experience was incredibly gross. Only good thing was the front desk at the main building.
- 3/5
The breakfast was cold and the toast was like bread crumbs. They are a no frills facility. No coffee and no community microwave. I was given a voucher from a guest. There was no breakfast at at all, offered in the price.
- 3/5
Did not experience any breakfast, the stay was nice
- 3/5
They have the music in the pool and lobby 24 hrs. so you can hear the sound in the room
- 1/5
Hotel front desk staff were very unhelpful, the rooms were dirty, and we had to stay above Taco Taco which had an extremely loud DJ until 11pm during the week. I would never stay here and again and do not recommend staying here. Terrible experience.
- 2/5
The rooms did not look like the pictures at all. They were dirty, and our rooms were above Taco Taco, which had a DJ blasting music until 11pm on a Tuesday. The front desk staff were unhelpful and acted like they could care less with our concerns. Never stay here!

The room was clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Happy hour was fun and unexpected. Breakfast was good but not much for variety same everyday. The location was excellent close to beach, shopping, dining. Everything within walking distance. I would have liked to have had a coffee maker and microwave in room. The hotel was busy guests coming and going bit noisy at night. The overall experience was very good and i would definitely return
- 5/5
Front desk staff was good
- 3/5
Room was unbelievably damp, mold in shower. Hotel does not hold baggage for you (asked for an hour to hold so we could walk over to the next hotel (which they also own) to eat lunch. Very expensive area expect upwards of $100 per meal for 2 people (one appetizer, two mains and two drinks, total not each). Not to mention fixed 18% gratuities in the bills allowing for mediocre service from wait staff
- 4/5
Great staff. Close to everything. Fun pool and restaurants nearby. I’ll definitely be back!

Room was clean. Staff was very friendly. It was interesting to see a restaurant as part of the unit. The food at Taco Taco was great

Hi staff was amazing , however I feel like I was lied to. When booking room on Expedia for 3 travels the rooms looked spacious and modern . When we got there it was extremely small and lacked many features. Vastly different from pictures of Expedia and website .The bathroom was moldy and had no vent . The beds were a size Full . Everything was alarmingly small and lacked . I won’t be staying here again . Very disappointed. The staff however were amazing!!

WORST HOTEL IN SOUTH BEACH.BEWARE while booking this Hotel. I recently booked this hotel for four nights and the hotel did not have a room for me. They forced me to stay at a hotel next door claiming that it managed by them- the hotel's air conditioner was not working and they had nobody from maintainenace to fix it. The management did not want to cancel my booking nor did they want to issue me a refund. Basically they charged me for a room at Catalina and told me to stay at a subpar hotel. The agent Hotels.com claims they cannot intervene in this situation and confirm that the hotels has a no refund policy. I DID NOT STAY IN THE HOTEL ROOM AND AM ASKED TO PAY FOR ALL DAYS AND THE ROOM FEE. THIS HOTEL HAS DECIVED ME AND I WILL NEVER BOOK AT THIS HOTEL AND WOULD LIKE TO WARN AND ADVISE OTHERS OF THE SAME- IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO GET YOUR MONEY'S WORTH DO NOT STAY AT CATALINA

Five stars all the way. Super convenient location, welcoming staff, and a fun social atmosphere. Great option for anyone looking to enjoy Miami Beach to the fullest.
- 5/5
We loved our time at the Catalina! The hotel has a charming, trendy feel, and everything was spotless. The beach is just a short walk away—couldn’t ask for more.
- 5/5
The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was lively, and the pool area was a great place to unwind. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Room was fine.

The night staff not helpful, we checked in and looked around the room and found dirt on the bed sheets, blood stains, mold. When we went to figure out the problem the staff didn’t care and basically said it is what it is. Will never be staying there again.
- 3/5
The room was clean. Had to ask multiple times for washcloths.air conditioning was great
- 2/5
I was very disappointed because, when I arrived to Catalina hotel I had to drag my luggage up this small metal ramp that was positioned on steps in front of hotel entrance. There was a lobby that didn’t mirror the image online. I was checking in and then told, I had to go back outside to a hotel next door which was positioned over a restaurant, which I was misled to think I would be staying in Catalina hotel. Then to get to the hotel next door on small creepy elevator and to room, where there was no closet door and no door on shower which left floor soaked and wet. And , top it off had to go back next door for more towels and washcloths. Let’s just say not worth the money and time.
- 4/5
Great location! Check in was very busy but we just had them take our bags and went to the rooftop pool to wait. The free happy hour drinks were a big plus. Property could use some updates and rooms were a bit dated but location was great.
- 4/5
This is my 4the time staying at you're property and alot of improvements have been made

The staff were friendly and accommodating. Short walk to the beach and enjoyed the convenience of having 2 restaurants on location.

I called the front desk to help with the tv and they never came. The room looked like it needed some upgrading. The beds were not comfortable.

Nice clean room and friendly staff
- 5/5
Two huge wins: The location is A++++—couldn't be better. And the free happy hour?! Champagne at noon and margaritas 5-6 PM? YES PLEASE. Miami is expensive, so that was an amazing and super appreciated perk. Now for the room... it was a bit weird. I'd give it 3 stars, honestly. The layout was strange (toilet by the entrance, sink across the room—awkward!), and we had some issues with dirty floors and stained sheets which was a bummer. The lack of a second trash can and the TP situation was pretty inconvenient, too. Also, heads up: The ground pool and Zen garden were closed for construction, which was a little disappointing. Bottom line: I'd 100% stay here again because the location and staff are that good, but management definitely needs to check on room cleanliness!
- 5/5
Room was clean and the staff mostly all the staff were friendly!
- 3/5
The rooms are small, they look big in the picture. And the room service no one came to give me new towels or more tissue for the bathroom has to walk in the hallway to find tissue . The hotel appears is Good I did like the scenery 👍👍👍

- 3/5
The Maxine building is a mess. The room was super tiny, the wall were a nightmare a bright bright green and not too clean, the white leather bed needs to be clean, the doors to the room and to the elevators need to be clean and painted. Def not worth 230.00 per night. That’s more like 50 per night. The Staff were nice
- 3/5
Hotel needs reconditioning
- 1/5
The floors were sticky. They didn't come to clean. When they did finally come to clean they didn't bring fresh washcloths. The balcony door was broken. The blinds didn't close all the way.
- 2/5
I reported it the next morning after check-in, and the staff said they would take care of it, but nothing was done for several days even after I followed up multiple times and showed photos. I was finally moved to another room (3208) on the third day after a housekeeper saw the mold herself and reported it. I’ve stayed here before and came back because I had a good experience previously, so this was disappointing. I hope management takes cleanliness and maintenance issues more seriously, as this could easily have been avoided with faster action. The new room was fine, and the location is excellent, but the slow response really affected my stay.
- 2/5
However, the room experience was disappointing. The first room we were assigned couldn’t be opened with the key, so we had to change rooms. And that took about 40 minutes wasted Unfortunately, the second room had visible mold, water issues in the bathroom, and the doors were difficult to open but at least the key worked. On a positive note, the happy hour was a major plus and a nice touch to the stay. I hope this feedback helps improve future guest experiences. Didn’t have chance to access the pool as the lobby was in Catalina hotel, we were staying at Maxine’s which it had a pool but it was closed. And the rooftop pool was at the other hotel next to Catalina I didn’t have time to explore it. Also I wish the bathroom had a door as it was the wrong floor for a shower and the whole time a puddle of water stayed accumulated on the shower area and restroom.
- 5/5
Fantastic experience! My room was spacious and stylish, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Loved the music by the pool and the overall party vibe, but it was still relaxing at night. Great balance of fun and comfort.
- 5/5
I’ve stayed in several South Beach hotels, and the Catalina has the best value by far. Funky decor, lively atmosphere, and clean rooms. The location is unbeatable. I’ll definitely stay here again next time I’m in Miami.
- 5/5
Such a fun and stylish hotel! The vibe is very Miami—modern, colorful, and full of energy. My room was spotless, the bed was comfy, and the music by the pool was perfect. The restaurant downstairs served one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a while.
- 5/5
I had an amazing stay at the Catalina! The location couldn’t be better—just a few steps from the beach and all the action on Collins Ave. The staff were super friendly and the rooftop pool was a dream.
- 5/5
Very nice location and convenient
- 1/5
My room was dirty, smelly and had flies coming from the shower drain. The hallway was dark and smelled moldy. I guess for the price in Miami Beach I can't really complain too much. I would not stay here again and do not recommend it.
- 2/5
There was no parking at this location and Guests were hustled when arriving, there were several guests. upon arrival the hotel declined to provide breakfast.
- 4/5
Overall a bang for your buck! The lobby at the Maxine portion of the hotel smells strongly of humidity. Might be due to the pool but thats would be the only concern. Everything else was pretty good for the price!
- 5/5
Great hotel for convenience to beach and restaurants
- 5/5
Bien seguro
- 3/5
Very first thing i want to talk about is the "balcony" room, the upcharge for a room with a balcony is a rip off because the balcony is a maybe one foot wide platform with a railing that faces the inner courtyard of the hotel which is about 6 or 7 feet wide. I strongly do not recommend this option if you are looking for a balcony suite. The room was pretty clean, the air conditioning was ice cold and the staff was pretty friendly as well. There was no ice bucket in the room so it was tough to have ice readily available instead i was forced to fill up cups with ice repeatedly. Overall location of the hotel is nice as well as the rooftop pool/lounge area which is an additional fee once you arrive to the property. Im not sure if i would stay at this property again but overall i would give it a 2.5/3 out of 5 stars based off my experience there. But if you're just having the room for sleep and showering than its great.

Jose is a nice person he makes sure that his property is in good standards. Jose goes beyond to make sure that his guests is treated fairly. I would most definitely stay here again when I visit. The restaurants is outstanding the food is great and the happy hour between 5-6 and six is great as well.

Bugs all over the room and an issue with my reservation due to the manager booking me under a different name. Manager still tried to make me pay (for who knows) upon check out.
- 1/5
This property is NOT at all as advertised. When checking in we had to double check the name because it didn’t at all look like the photos. The rooms we extremely weathered and the bathroom looked like a prison bathroom. The bed was like a rock. We checked in and left immediately
- 1/5
Nothing like the pictures. Don’t be fooled. The lobby smelled terrible and the valet costs $43 and some stranger told my husband he was the valet because the actual valet was nowhere to be found. Thankfully my husband knew what the guy was trying to do and wasn’t fooled by him. I didn’t even stay all night. It wasn’t my cup of tea. The only positive is the availability of restaurants and night life. That’s it!

From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. The hotel is super stylish with a boutique feel, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Great value for such a prime location in Miami Beach.

Absolutely loved my stay at Catalina! The hotel is just steps from the beach and in the middle of all the South Beach action. Can’t wait to come back!
- 5/5
Very close to Lincoln shops and dinning in the area

The reek of weed was bad, the cleaniness of the elevator was terrible. And one whole pool was shut down. The bartender at Maxines was rude.

Mirror on the wall and drop in the room and almost hurt us glass was shattered everywhere we asked for assistant and told them what happen and they did nothing just saying oh well I will tell the maintenance man to come no one ever showed up. The way the hang the mirror is not safe and the fact that no one touch the mirror or was no where near it. I thought it was a nice hotel until when that happen and wasn’t able to get any help !

Rooms could use a deep clean. There were ants and my room was warm. The sheets smelled odd like they were sitting for awhile

Your room will be dirty if you don’t stay in the main building

Totally recommend! The hotel was beautiful, location was great and the decor was amazing!

Chic, vibrant, and super convenient. We’ll definitely be booking Catalina again next time we’re in South Beach.

Location couldn’t be better — minutes from the beach, shopping, and nightlife. Room was simple but stylish.
- 5/5
Excellent value for being so close to the beach, with bars and restaurants just steps away.

Staff were super friendly, always helpful. Rooms had everything we needed, and the rooftop was perfect for sunsets

The property was unique and clean. Staff member Jose was amazing ! The area overall food etc is very expensive.

This was my second time staying at the property, but unfortunately it will likely be my last. Check-in was already somewhat frustrating due to a language barrier and a lack of clear communication, but I overlooked that because I enjoy the location. However, the real issue came after I realized the front desk failed to return my driver’s license after check-in. I did not discover this until later, when I was preparing for my flight the next day. By then, I had already left Miami and had to drive an hour back in the middle of the night to retrieve my ID. This not only cost me additional money and time, but also forced me to rebook a later flight, putting me back on the East Coast much later than planned. When I first called the hotel, the night audit clerk I spoke to was dismissive and completely disregarded what I was trying to explain. Instead of listening, he tried to pass me off to housekeeping the next morning—as if I had simply lost my ID in the room—when I was very clear that the front desk never returned it to me in the first place. After hanging up and calling back, I insisted again, and sure enough, my ID was still sitting at the front desk the entire time. There was no remorse, no apology, and no effort to correct the situation or make it eas

Good rooms but with a very smaller restrooms. No water, carry your own from nearest Walgreens. Okaying swimming pool with one of the two was closed. Overall, pretty decent in the main area of Lincoln Rd.

The rooms was just okay , I reserved a junior suite king room , and the room was very small to be called a “suite” . Overall, the bed was comfortable

Staff is like family

I would definitely go here again the only thing is I would not stay here more than 3 days. It gives more like a motel than a hotel. Shower turn kept popping off decent hotel

Though they where renovating, but its a nice beautiful hotel

Understand that this property is busy and a bit fragmented but the staff does an exceptional job of managing matters. I was pleased with the welcome and I chose a room with a street view. The party was right outside, but I knew what I signed up for. Perfect place to people watch.

I went to this hotel recently and although it looks nice there are several reviews with complaints which seem to add up. I had several items stolen out of my room and they did not wish to compensate me for them. The hallways do smell, likely mold as they are carpeted hallways. There is no security or staff that is monitoring the entrance of the hotel floors so in other words, ANYONE can walk up to your hotel floors. My family stayed in a different building and they said upon entrance of their room there was hair on their bed. The place is not clean or safe.

THE ROOM SAFE WAS INOPERABLE. The sheets had a stain in it and hair on the sheets. I had to change the sheets because we had a late check-in. The pool

Well for one I gave a good review on Google but I’m going to edit and update the review. This was not a great experience. My room was 78 degrees on the first day. I had to request for the AC to be fixed. Secondly Tuesday I checked in and went out later and came back my Key card was deactivated. Well it was reset and it deactivated daily. The front desk was in another building and this went on nightly. After the 2nd day I was told they were updating the lock systems and I told them it seems as if I’m the only person w this problem. In short this went on my entire stay! This was terrible and inconvenient especially having to go to another building for the front desk! Well I’ve emailed the manager and reservations and I’m hoping to get compensation for something! Please do not stay here if I can show pictures of the open ceiling in the bathroom and the AC thermostat.

Decided to take my wife on a weekend getaway to South beach. Looked up hotels on Hotels.com where we found the Catalina. The location was perfect and the pics looked very nice. However, I made one mistake. I did not look at the reviews. We were put in a room away from the main hotel over a restaurant called Maxine’s. We actually had to walk through the middle of the restaurant to get to the elevator leading up to the rooms. Once we stepped off the elevator we knew this was not the place we had seen pictures of on the website. The carpet in the hallway was filthy the musty smell hit you in the face. All you could hear was hammers and saws due to construction in progress on our floor. (The construction noise began early in the morning and lasted well into the night). It was very annoying at times and you could forget about trying to sleep in late. We had just got in our room and was changing clothes from our trip when one of the hotel workers came barging into our room without knocking or saying a word to look at the liquor bar refrigerator. He then walked back out never looking at us. We were dismayed to say the least. We decided to turned on the TV which was a waste of time. It would come on for 20 seconds and then buffer for 30 seconds over and over. This continued the whole weekend. When we went to call the front desk to report it, we found out there was no phone in the room. Do not stay at this hotel unless you have a room in the main hotel.

I checked in at 2pm and left by 4:30. I tried to talk to the front desk and staff about my room but no one answered the phone and when I went down there they kept asking me to wait a minute. Finally I packed my bag and left. They would not offer a refund and told me I had to send a email for it to be reviewed to see if I’m eligible.

Horrible hotel to stay at first don’t even know where to start! Upon arriving at the hotel there is no complementary beverages and food as said in the welcome letter! Asked front desk where is it he said they do not do it anymore after Covid??? Hotel also had a weird smell in it when opening the door at the lobby like mold. Going into the small dark elevator that probably should not even be running has expired inspection paper and was very loud and creaky definitely scary and dangerous for people to be in it. Pictures are attached below for proof. Entering the room lock fell off the door and could not even get in this made a great impression before even entering the room. Once maintenance came up 30 mins later as I was still waiting outside the room door he Mickey Moused the lock and definitely still was loose. Where is the security with having piece of mind if locking your door??? Next getting into the room now sheets had like blood stains on them musty smell and looked like the floor had not even been cleaned! I was second guessing if the room was even cleaned properly after old customers left and we went in. Walking into the bathroom no towels no trash bag in the small mini trash that was the size of a coffee cup. Went outside the door to ask housekeeping if they could give me some she didn’t speak English at all and kept saying “si” so no towels ever got to the room until I had to call the front desk and complain again kind you less than 30 mins. I can’t add more no space

Horrible stay. They cleaned the room 1 time in 4 days. Outside bar on the rooftop was never open, we had to egg out own clean towels.

We arrived at the hotel at approximately 9:30 AM, where the front desk employee kindly offered to hold our luggage, as we were informed that check-out was at 11:00 AM and check-in was at 3:00 PM. We inquired about the complimentary breakfast that was included in our stay, and the employee directed us to go out of the hotel and up to the fourth floor of Taco Taco. We followed these directions, walking around the entire fourth floor and even downstairs, only to be told by a Taco Taco employee that they do not serve breakfast and open only for lunch. Confused, we returned to the front desk and were then informed that breakfast was actually served next door at Maxine’s. We proceeded there and were seated. An employee at Maxine’s approached and informed us that the section we were seated in was for guests with complimentary breakfast vouchers. We explained we were guests at the hotel and showed our confirmation email, but she insisted on a physical voucher. No breakfast cost us $70 and no towels in room or toilet tissue, elevator broke, no complimentary wine n cheese. Horrible experience.

Overall the property is ok. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Has two pools, one on the rooftop is adults only.

Great location and friendly staff. The balcony room isn’t much of a balcony and the doors don’t open. I could’ve just got a standard room for that price. Otherwise it’s ok

There are 3 properties that are considered Catalina Beach Club, the Catalina, the Dorset & the Maxine. I was in the Maxine which I wasn’t expecting, it is a bit tired but they were maintaining it which didn’t hinder my stay, shower grouting was woeful but that’s a minor. I had paid for a king and got a twin double, which was fine BUT as I said, in the Maxine, NO safe in the room despite being advertised. Air con made a horrible whirring noise every few mins for about 10 seconds. Reported both issues to reception- they said they’d send maintenance and put a safe in, neither happened. Maybe maintenance did go but couldn’t fix it, I don’t know but I think not as no safe either. Internet is awful, virtually non existent and keeps dropping out. However, public areas are nice, ate once in the restaurant- good, but lots of people ate throughout the day and always looked good. Staff friendly and courteous. Bonus of free happy hour cocktails everyday, nice touch. Great location on Collins Street, right next to the bus stop for Airport Express & downtown & the free trolley bus. Easy to reach the beach, Ocean Drive, Lincoln Mall, broad walk, all very walkable. Great art deco buildings alll around. Plenty of places to eat & drink and Maxine’s Bistro and Taco Taco in the hotels great too. Hotel is quite lively. 4th floor pool area in the Dorsett with DJ, nice quiet pool in the Maxine, live entertainment in the evening, I was 3rd floor directly above it but it didn’t disturb, it was the ac

loved it, very friendly & nice! i stayed june 25/28 & the two ladies during the day were wonderful & the gentleman during the night as well

This is a true gem. Excellent location, walkable to everything and if you dont feel like then everything you need is within the hotel. I will definitely stay again.
- 4/5
On the bright side, the location is great – just a short walk to the beach and right in the heart of South Beach. If you’re coming to party, it might work for you. If you’re coming to sleep… maybe look elsewhere

The hotel and area was nice , rooftop DJ never showed and the shower hot water took long to work, but other then that good place

I booked at the catalina and was sent to the dorsette. The entrance to the dorsette is always crowded with chairs and tables and in the nights the music is kind of loud. I was never informed of a resort fee when I booked and I think this is dishonest.

Didn't really like the way the bathroom was designed
- 1/5
When we arrived, there were no towels in the room. We went to the front desk and were told they were still in the washing machine and it would take “a minute.” That “minute” turned into over two hours, and even then, they gave us an incomplete set of towels and no washcloths. We had to follow up multiple times just to get the basics. To make matters worse, we found a roach in the bathroom, which is completely unacceptable. The room itself looked nothing like the pictures online—definitely felt misled by the marketing. There was nothing about this stay I’d recommend, and I strongly suggest looking elsewhere if you want a clean, comfortable, and reliable place to stay in Miami. Don’t waste your money.

However, there were a few issues during our stay that we wanted to bring to your attention: • The bathroom sink was clogged when we arrived. I ended up unclogging it myself, and quite a bit of hair came out. • The shower dripped continuously. • We didn’t receive fresh towels or washcloths throughout our stay. Despite these issues, we would still consider staying here again because the overall environment and location were great. Thank you for your hospitality.
