Travelers BEWARE ! The photos and descriptions listed are far from what experienced upon arriving at this “lodge”. Upon arriving I find out that this is a “hostel”, where homeless people stay and other types of “1 nighters” stay. My booking was for the 2 queen and 2 futon room as I was traveling with my husband and kids. At the front desk I asked to be sure that was the room and was taken to see the room first. Edwin showed me a room with 6 bunk beds and 2 queen beds, no fridge/microwave. I told him no that’s not what I reserved and that would not work for me. He showed me another room (the one I reserved) and I told him yes. Then back in the office he acted as if he was doing me a favor. We finished the process and he gave me room keys to a different room that he said was “same as the one I showed you” lord have mercy was it not. To start off, I walked into a room with 2 queens and ONE futon, the place was hot as ever with a small window unit AC(had to go hut a fan from cvs at 11pm), absolutely disgustingly dirty with stains and splatters of who knows what, all over the walls, doors, blinds & everywhere in the bathroom. The floors were weak and dirty, huge holes in the walls as if someone kicked it. Hairs and dirt all over the bathroom and stuck to the walls. Beds were barely standing. The TVs turn on but do not work, also there’s no remotes in the room. WiFi .. you can connect but doesnt work at all. Would not recommend or stay. Wish the review let me upload photos or video

I stayed in a hostel in Miami Beach FL. I booked 2 weeks. I was discriminated a was thrown out half of my booking, and they will not refund my money for the 8 nights i paid for. Also they don't have to ammedies they claim to have listed on Expedia and their website.

Every day in the morning was cleaned Some homeless people downstairs stole my groceries and cooked it and ate it and didn’t ask. They shouldn’t be up stairs if paying customers are there.

Not the best place to stay if you’re looking for an experience within the place 😳 but great to sleep, and go explore south beach. Love the area it’s located in though. And the staff is incredible, namely Edwin and Sammy! They deserve a raise! 👏👏

Unlike alit of reviews this place was cool and the people were really fun. We had parties and dinners and the staff was always helpful. Great place to stay especially for the price. Close to free rides on the trolley too.

Our entire stay was very pleasant! Don't let the other reviews scare you! It's not a hotel, it's a hostel. If you can't handle a motel, you will obviously struggle at a hostel. No issues at all! Had AC and made lots of friends! Be friendly and you won't have a problem! When we return we will be sure to stay here! A few hiccups with available rooms, but management made it work! Shout out to our girl Sammie for getting us checked out and being so outgoing and friendly!

I never had the breakfast. The dinners are like tv dinners. And totally random. But I won't complain about FREE food. I don't really have any complaints. For the price, it was GREAT!

Eugene Gant should not be allowed to work this property after his mistreatment of multiple guest and he escalated a misunderstanding of a reservation into insults, insinuations and, harassment and disrespect to multiple people. I’m not sure what his personal problem was but is not professional. He even admitted a few days prior to my reservation that he didn’t feel comfortable doing cash reservations because he was new and was not confident he wouldn’t make a mistake. I offered to do an online reservation because he stated he was still learning and had already made mistakes in his new position. Jawaan, Edwin, Sammi, have been more than accommodating and have been nothing short of excellent host

I ignored him and when he asked me again multiple times to allow him to leave a review I told him I didn’t want to have him leave a review at the moment because I was resting and he was interrupting my rest as well as the other paying guest. He insinuated I lied about my paying because he said he didn’t see my reservation anywhere in the system. After leaving the room he came back multiple times to harass me and try to hold conversation while I tried to rest. He said he didn’t care about my rest because it was 11:30am. He also confirmed seeing my reservation for more expensive room with less beds and advised the booking sites were not showing availability for the room I reserved for more than a few days so the custom request was sent via reservation for 16c and the extra money spent was not a concern and that I would remain in the same room. It was ready planned for that to be my very last reservation. Police were called directly to my room to remove me because of Eugene petty ways

Location was good, 30 mins walk to the Beach. Staff was nice While I knew it from other reviews, there were a lots of homeless people living there, and even with a private room, my other friends did not feel comfortable there so we had to book and moved to other hotel. Also the key itself was working (door can be locked) but the card key they gave us was not working at all. Clealiness were okay for the price. Picture on this website seems to be really old picture

Nothing, I didn’t even make my check in. The receptionist said he cancel my reservation and that I would get refunded, what never happened. Felt unsafe, the reception staff lied about canceling and refunding my reservation.

WELL considering I documented the whole check in process I’d love to have someone contact me via email so I can forward the videos of this place. It shouldn’t be on booking.com it’s actually a third world country homeless shelter, instantly thought my friend and I was immediate danger. I went back to my car to grab my firearm because I was that concerned…. After 15 minutes my friend and I left and didn’t stay the night. Ideally I should get a refund. I documented everything. It was really concerning the safety of myself and my friend with me.

The neighborhood is nice and safe with public transportation options and a free trolley that takes around Miami Beach though. You can walk to South Beach in about 15-20 minutes. The staff was kind. It’s very run down. Too many people. Rather depressing place to stay.

It's close to the beach Do not stay here. It shouldn't be advertised as a hostel. It's permentantly guarded by the police because it is actually a homeless shelter. They got our booking wrong, so we didn't get the private room we expected. It was a dorm that was disgusting. The place felt incredibly unsafe. We got a refund.

The noise at night was constant, some guests were smoking indoors, and both the rooms and bathrooms were unclean. We had booked a three-bedroom unit for two adults and two children through Booking.com two months in advance, and even confirmed it over the phone. However, when we arrived, we were informed that our reservation had been canceled without any prior notice. As a result, we spent 3–4 hours trying to find another hotel, but were unsuccessful. We returned to the same place, and were only offered a much smaller and very basic room — just beds, with almost no other amenities. It was clearly cheaper than the one we originally booked, yet we were not offered any refund or compensation for the difference. To make matters worse, not only was our payment not refunded, but additional charges were withdrawn from our account without any notification. We only discovered this later and immediately contacted Booking.com to request a refund and report the issue. The staff seemed poorly trained and unprofessional, particularly one employee with curly hair who clearly lacked customer service skills. This entire experience made us feel as though we were staying in a shelter rather than a hotel. Perhaps the name Home Shelter reflects more than just branding. We will definitely not be returning.

Sammie is the only reception person to truly care about the guests. She makes a real effort to insure their safety and comfort. She doesn’t respond to guest concerns without dark sarcasm. She is also alone in applying site rules equally and not making exceptions to favoured guests.

Very overcrowded room ..

First of all - I’m a 19 years old girl and stayed at that hostel. If you think about doing the same - think twice. I can’t say anything against the value, because it is cheap. But is it safe - not really. I stayed in a mixed dorm where 15 people could sleep. And one might think that mixed means that there are gonna be other men AND women. No!! I was the only female person in this room. And I hope I don’t have to tell how uncomfortable I felt. They shouldn’t let a solo female traveler stay with only men. That is irresponsible. There where also men smoking in front of the building which didn’t make me feel very safe because you had to walk through them to get into the building. Besides that - you can’t say much against the cleanness because it’s literally so cheap. And the location is also great. Only a 15 minute walk away from the beach. Also my glasses where stolen. And I didn’t feel like anyone really cared. And I don’t mean fancy sunglasses or anything. Just my normal everyday glasses to see something. Gone.

I still checked in thinking my room would at least be safe. I woke up at 8 am to men doing drugs in my room and the door to the room being propped open with a trash can for anyone to enter and steal or harm women while sleeping. I went to the front desk to complain and she was already being yelled at by a crackhead who start verbally attacking me and drooling on my luggage until the cops came and handled the situation. I was promised by the Spanish lady at the front desk a full refund for the three more days I was booked there and now they refused to answer the phone or refund me my money. This place is dangerous and Expedia has been made aware and provided with photos and still won't refund me my money. This place should not be listed on this site anymore for everyone's safety

I reach to the so called hotel, the receptionist informed me that he received my reservation but no room for me. The hotel entrance was scary and i was not feeling confortable with the cround and the rooms. Basically the choice through expedia was misleading, and i spent 2 night outside. Miami was full, during the boat show and valentine. Please expedia take action.

This place was a nightmare and if there was a choice to choose 0 I would have. Had me waiting around before i could check in at 3pm. A mistake was made on the booking as I paid for a room with 2 bunkbeds and not 6 which i will have to contact Hotels.com about. I did not feel safe at all there and shared bathroom doors were broken and some didn't lock and just some random dude just walks in and lucky I was not in the shower which i never used as both shower and toilets were dirty with womans dirty knickers lying around. I think this place is more of a shelter for the homeless than a hostel for tourists.They even charge you for lockers.

I booked a PRIVATE suite. These criminals call a room in the back of a 12 person bunk that you have to walk through a private room! I am a male, and when I arrived they said the only private they had was in an all female dorm! So I had to walk through a room where women expect privacy and tell them I'm staying in the room in the back! I walked in put my bag down, decided this was absurd and checked out. Bikini Hostel refused to refund me, even though this is false advertising, even though I didn't get what I asked for. And Hotels.com refused to help just blindly citing the Bikini criminal's refund policy. They can both go Eff themselves. I'll NEVER use hotels.com again. And FYI, there are no girls in bikinis, there's just desperate transient people from south florida with no place else to go. I'd give it negative stars if I could

Good for a quick stay in Miami. No frills but the connected bar is very handy for a quick bite and a few drinks. There's a nearby whole foods and both Walgreens and CVS are just blocks away. Don was very helpful during my stay and provided excellent service and information

They are listed to have an airport shuttle and a cruise port shuttle, which was the main reason I booked here, but THEY DO NOT! There is no way to speak to anyone before your arrival. All phone prompts tell you to email. I emailed 3 times and NEVER heard back from anyone. Terrible customer service. They say they offer free breakfast and dinner but fail to tell you that you have to sign up for the dinner several hours before or you can’t eat. The breakfast is just sugared cereal and bread for toast. I don’t eat sugared cereals. Saying they offer a continental breakfast and only offer that is NOT a continental breakfast. I purchased a private room but had to walk through a room with 6 beds to get to a door with a small hallway to reach my “private” room. Room was dingy and filthy. Know that a police cruiser is permanently stationed right in front of the Hostel to keep an eye out on the permanent residents who live there. Terrible. Buyer beware. If you don’t mind staying in squalor then stay away.

To begin with the pictures in the site does not match the hotel room for the amount of money paid you’d expect more my experience was truly bad. We called to get the breakfast menu and man hung up. Once we got there we got the incorrect key and walked to someone else’s room while people were sleeping. When we got into the room it looked nothing like the pictures. It only had one room and the living room had 2 bunk beds which were very unstable and the couches were not couch beds. The beds and couches had a stench and it was very dirty, uncomfortable, and unsanitary.

The hostel is what it is: an affordable place to stay near the beach. Accommodations are simple and adequate, nothing fancy. Neighborhood is safe. Walking distance to the famous South Beach strip. Great for backpackers. Not recommended as a romantic getaway.

The positives were cost (appx $200 per night) compared to hotels at $400 per night. Negatives were that TV didnt work and they couldnt fix it when notified of issue. Offered dinner at 530 pm but room had three tables and two were occupied by employees. Breakfast was 730 -830 but when we arrived there was no food or coffee.

The parking is non-existent and I got a parking ticket because the signs are not clear. The staff overall were helpful, but the place itself is the problem. The website is completely inaccurate and outdated. Don't get me started on the beds, it's like sleeping on the cheapest mattress from Walmart along with pillows that provide less support than airplane pillows. The only reason we stayed is because orbitz screwed up our other reservation and allowed an unauthorized individual to cancel it. If your a college student or traveling and young, this is fine, but for a family with kids, this is not a great place.

Staff truly needs to check guests reservations BEFORE their arrival to ensure that the property has been paid by 3rd party sites. That way they won't be charged twice for the same stay.

This was a clean hostel. We had the rooms for just our group. The staff were very friendly and professional. The A/C was undersized, and couldn’t beat the heat, but it was June in Miami.

This property is unsafe. I am a single woman, staying by myself, and they gave the key to my room to another couple without my permission. I was undressed in bed almost asleep when two people came into my room. I had to run to the front desk because there are no phones in the rooms, only to be told that it was a system mistake. Don't stay here, it's unsafe.

We found an alive bug under our pillow, we got the stay for the night, but we drove back home like the devil was after us. The ac was not conditioning the whole place so the part where the ac was was cool and three foot forward into the room was so warm, the kitchen and the bathroom. It was very disappointing. I wish I could upload a pic and the video I took. Disgusting

The room was nothing like what they advertised it as. Service was horrible. No one even showed their face for 40 min. Then waited for another 15 before he even said anything. I would never go there or send anyone there. I left almost immediately after getting to my room.

The pictures on this site are a complete contrast to the rental location. We were expecting a friendly family environment and were appalled by the smell of drugs and people laying on the ground in front of location. I have tried to get a full refund since 3/2021 from Expedia but they still have not resolved the issue. I have tried to remain patient as this was presented to us under false advertising, I just hope Expedia is able to provide a refund soon.

The correct name is Bikini hostel which explains everything whole place was extremely deceitful and manager refused to speak to us at all we never stayed at the place was told to email never got a response was told to send a 2nd email. This was a horrible experience we didn’t even stay the night my children were scared the man at the front desk wasnt even suppose to rent to us apparently because we didn’t have a passport and because we were Florida residents. I don’t appreciate you all telling me that I couldn’t get my money back which is ridiculous to me. I didn’t even stay at the place or spend anytime in the room nor did we touch the beds or anything! The placed looked nothing like it appeared in the picture. Our room was not clean; large amount of mold in the microwave, bathroom was not clean, and a few of the items where broke. The staff were nice however no one came to clean the microwave when asked and most clothes and linen had multiple stains.

Do not fall for the advertised free breakfast & dinner. They offer cheap coffee & cereals for breakfast & grilled dollar chicken for dinner. In conclusion, you'll enjoy your stay at the Bikini Lodge if you are planning to party around the clock, and remain under influence. My advice: add few bucks, and find a better place. I assume, back in days Bikini was a nice place but now it's a mess.

This property is not as advertised. It is actually a hostel; the workers are fantastic and super welcoming and great to work with, however, this place is much smaller than advertised and is pretty gross. It is great for a group of about 8 people rather than 16 and is in a great location in South Beach.

Upon arrival the front desk person seemed to have zero idea what he was doing, took about thirty minutes for him to kind of figure it out and he showed us our room. The room was decent enough to sleep in. Loud music in the little court yard pretty much 24/7. Beds were uncomfortable and very squeaky to the point it would wake me and my friends up every time someone moved in their sleep. I’d say the worst part was when the front desk people actually checked someone else into our room and these people unlocked our door with their hotel key and almost walked right in. I wonder what would have happened if we had still been out to dinner at the time, would they have gone through our belongings? Who knows. Staff needs to be trained on how to do their jobs. Very disappointing.

I liked the location. The fridge was dirty the table was broken. There were no towels during check in. The room smell like smoke and we’re ashes on couch. The tv had no remote and not programmed and the floors wasn’t swept or mopped all the mirrors were dirty and a old back of T.G.I. Friday’s was moles under sink.

Our stay was good, it's walking distance from the beach and near restaurants. Free parking is limited but we were able to manage. I would stay there again.

The heat did not work, the two tvs did not work, the sinks were stopped up. The stove didn't work the water was lukewarm in the shower. The chairs were wobbly, the furniture was in poor condition. The pictures on the website look nothing like the hotel. The blinds were missing pieces. The floor is dismantled, a complete disappointment.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Bikini Lodge. The staff was friendly, our room was clean, and the location is only a 20 minute walk to the beach. We were really impressed that dinner was included (we had bacon mac n cheese while there). The atmosphere was a little bit more "party" than I normally like, but for the price in Miami you cant beat it. Beds were not super comfy, but serviceable. The AC in our room was loud and woke me up a couple times, but after adjusting the settings it was fine. I loved having a kitchen in our apartment-style room. Overall, I would reccomend this place.

Great location and plenty of space for a large bachelor party group. The staff was accommodating with early check-in and communication was great. I would recommend it for your large group outing to South Beach

My husband and I came down to Miami for our Anniversary ❤️ we hotel hopped for our last two days here. This stop was our last stop before going back home to Atlanta. A Hostel.... very interesting??? Love it.😍 We walked EVERYWHERE did move the car at all!!! Amber the receptionist was a total delight and extra cool😍 Our room was very comfortable (double private room) and they offer free breakfast and dinner. All for a low price!!! Would recommend to anyone on a budget....had a ball!
