Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating its location, cleanliness, and friendly staff. However, there are consistent complaints about the state of the rooms, breakfast quality, and issues with the elevators.
- Convenient location

- Rooms need maintenance and updating
- Breakfast quality is poor

Tv did not connect to netflix/youtube, the tub was clogged, ironing board was filthy. Hallways super loud with kids running around and loud adults after 11pm.

Room was dirty still with hair found on towels and washcloths. Missing body wash and toilet when we arrived. We waited an hour for someone to bring them up before we came down to get them. No apology from the man at the desk. One elevator was down the evening we checked in and we woke up to both out of order. We were put on the 7th floor with two little ones and going to breakfast and bringing down our luggage was tough. Breakfast was very minimal. Waffle maker doesn't cook well. They only have plain milk in a pitcher that had dried milk on the end to pour. Didn't want to risk getting my boys sick so we ended up getting breakfast after.
- 2/5
Both elevators were down. Key cards wouldn't open the door to our room despite getting them swapped and reactivated 3 times. Requested new bedsheets and towels

Clean room. No smell. Hall ways were carpeted. Breakfast was a plus. Complete and filling. Staff was great and helpful. Only flaw was there was no ice machine on the first floor and only one available was way up on the 7th floor. Arizona is hot and we really need ice for our water containers.

Most La quintas I've stayed at. Very nice breakfast clean comfortable. This place. La Quinta's normally I stay. Not so much anymore I think it's a dinosaur. This place needs so much work elevator didn't work one elevator was awful the electrical in my room I had to change two rooms almost a third. (Don't stay here because of the name. Parking lot looks like a fairground parking lot just not nice not clean. The breakfast was just a joke.

The hot tub was disappointing. The water was cloudy, and several pieces of chipped tile came off and stuck to my swimsuit. The elevator frequently smelled like marijuana during our stay. The continental breakfast area was very small and crowded. There was no coffee available when I went down, and some of the breakfast items appeared overcooked. One positive surprise was that I was selected as Guest of the Day, but unfortunately no one mentioned it at check-in, so I didn’t learn until checkout that there was a reserved shaded parking space available right in front of the hotel. The front desk staff was polite but not especially welcoming. Overall, the property was clean, but there are opportunities to improve communication, breakfast service, and maintenance of the spa and pool area.

Location. Elevator broken. Door to go through from parking lot was broken. Wall paper falling off the wall. Fried eggs at breakfast were rock hard. People's dogs barking at 2am. Kept getting woke up from people talking. Hallway on 5th floor where I stayed had the same trash on the floor for 2 DAYS! WHY?

The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was nice. The location was perfect for us as we were traveling cross country and wanted to see friends and family in Phoenix. The beds were comfortable and the room was fairly spacious. There were several things that were not working including one of the elevators and a couple of the ice machines. A little TLC would make this place a 10.

I like this location because it is close and walkable to my son. Also, it is affordable.I have stayed here several times in the past and found the hotel decent. My room was clean, the hotel lobby was clean and appeared nice. The elevator was ancient and slow but worked. The front desk was staffed and there was always someone to help. Compared to my past visits the hotel seemed in shambles. My room was dirty, one elevator was out of order and the other was barely working. The lobby was disorganized and eveyday there was a person who appeared homeless in the lobby, eating breakfast, loudly talking angrily on the phone using profanity. While this doesn't offend me I could tell other patrons were bothered by this, uncomfortable their children were hearing profanity yet staff did nothing. Staff were scarcely present at the front desk and could never be found. Although I love the price, I will no longer stay here and choose to pay more for one of three other hotels next door.

There was no Fridge, no microwave. I paid for Queen beds, and I got full beds. The charges for our devices didn’t work on most chargers. We only received clean towels one day. Had to go to the front desk to get towels. The room was only serviced one day. Sorry, but, this wasn’t one of the best stays I’ve had over My 75 years.

The location and affordable room. Also breakfast was good every morning Night staff member wasn't very helpful when asking questions. The morning staff was fine. Card keys didn't work in the wellness center and after 4 days of stay, had to replace key card cause it wasn't opening the door. Asked for handicap but was assigned all the way up to 7th floor, unsure if that's fit if emergency was to Happen.

Pros: The pool was nice. Breakfast was well maintained with a decent selection of options, including waffles. And the property felt safe. The bed was actually pretty comfortable and I did feel like my Deluxe King room was spacious, which was nice. Cons: The room was mostly clean, though I found some crumbs on the floor. The room was quite a bit more outdated and in disrepair than I had expected--cracks in the porcelain of the sink and also the tub. TV was small and very old. I had asked for a room away from the elevators and ice machine, but my room assignment was literally right next to both. (Granted, that last one may have been out of their control... but I was never told they couldn't.) Overall, this hotel just feels like it's rather overdue for a refresh, and didn't seem worth what I paid for it.

Lower Price was a draw. Close to major freeway. Walls had digs and black marks on them, elevator had door damage that looked horrible. Not in the best area of town. Couldn’t open the window. Breakfast offerings were pretty minimal. How about offering full fat yogurt?

Rooms were large enough for our group of 3. My two teens had their own mirrors and beds were large enuff to fit both on there. Breakfast was delicious and just perfect. Beds nice and comfy.
- 1/5
The hotel needs a serious make over. We stayed there 15 years ago and I think nothing has been upgraded. There were numerous Little League families staying and it was super noisy, even late at night, with kids running the halls. I finally had to get dressed and address the situation. Feels like we should get a refund as we were forced to end our 7 night reservation after 2 nights and go elsewhere. It really disrupted over vacation.
- 4/5
No pool need to be redone feet and ankles are scraped up
- 4/5
Our room was nice and big. The staff were great! Facility needs a bit of updating.
- 4/5
One of the two elevators has been out of order so long they have a permanent sign. The remaining elevator broke down once during our stay and we had to walk two flights carrying our stuff. I can't imagine what the 7th floor people did! There has been a fast (and sloppy) rehab of the place. Paint spills not even cleaned. Air conditioning is pretty ancient and not very good (loud, too!) Beds were OK. Asked for extra pillows and never got them. Parking lot needs to be repaved. It's so rough it almost hurts to walk on it. Definitely a letdown as I have stayed at great La Quintas. This wasn't.
- 4/5
The room was comfortable. It would have been nice if there had been a fridge and microwave in the room. The pool was too cold to swim in.
- 3/5
I’m the type of person that I don’t like to complain because you never know the type of day that a person was having but my room really wasn’t that clean.when I moved back the sheets it’s like brown things on the sheets. Luckily, I brought a little blanket from home that I put down the elevator was broken.
- 4/5
There were so many people in baseball teams there that there were no towels, and it was very noisy in the hallways as teens were running around having a good time in swimming
- 4/5
Stop the crashing of what sounds like sheet pans in the morning at 4 AM every day! Very annoying!
- 1/5
Terrible check in waiting line, one of two rooms I reserved got cancelled without prior notice, dirty room, key card not working, awful breakfast
- 1/5
Stay away from La Quinta, particularly this hotel! Very awful experience: booked 2 rooms but one of them got cancelled without my knowledge, only one receptionist in the front desk that resulted in long waiting line, assigned me a room not cleaned, key card not working… did I mention that the breakfast had very limited choice…
- 4/5
Mu wife and I arrived at the property at 12:00 pm to check in. We were told by the clerk that he could not take any information for check in until 2:00 pm. We came back to the hotel at 2:00 as directed. We were told that the room was not cleaned yet and we would have to wait, again no check in was done, and we would have to wait until 3:00 pm. We waited in the lobby until 3. The clerk them proceeded to check in 5 guests ahead of us until he ended shift at which time, a female clerk took over the front counter. I made contact with the female clerk who eventually checked us in at approximately 3:30-3:45. The hot tub was empty of water and out of order for the duration of our stay. The pool was approximately 50° and completely unuseable.
- 5/5
Lot of room.
- 2/5
The beds were terrible. They should have been replaced years ago. There was a 6 inch dip in the mattress where bodies have broken it down over time. The elevator was just scary. It had broken pieces, janky repairs and sounded like it was ready to die any moment. I went for a swim after work and got stuck in the pool area because the safety lock was malfunctioning and locked me in. I was finally able to flag down another guest and have the get the desk employee. I was just recovering from a knee injury so Terri climb the fence or use the stairs was not an option on this trip. I would NOT recommend this hotel.

Love it!..

My husband and I had a reservation for 2 nights with a suite. When we went to our suite it was having some repairs done so told to come back later. Later went to the room and it had not been cleaned. Was given another non suite room which was not good because I needed the space that a suite provides. Then second night was given a suite which required a move. Asked for a credit and only got $30 for all our inconvenience.

We specifically booked this place for the amenities. Oh poor choice on our part. Continental breakfast was the worst thing ever. What looked to be boiled sausage patties and eggs every single morning. The jacuzzi had no water in it which is one of the main things we wanted. The elevators were super slow and a little scary to ride in. One of them had doors that would grind while opening and closing. The ice machine on our floor was out of order so we had to go up 3 more floors on the scary elevator to get some. I would not recommend until they fix some things.

Everything was quite good. I don't suppose there's anything I can complain about that would be conventionally seen as a valid complaint, hence the five star rating. Given that I was traveling to participate in a sports practice, the breakfast could have been a bit better for me had it contained more sources of electrolytes such as potatoes or citrus. Basically, it had refined carbs (bread products) and protein (sausage) but the only complex carbs was little packets of instant oatmeal (acceptable, so long as the plain one with no added sugar is in stock), but then I didn't really have a source of electrolytes that wasn't sugary fruit juice. Some potatoes would have given me both carbs and potassium, or some oranges likewise.

The hotel was mostly fine. The one elevator looked very old...could use a touch up. My only gripe is the breakfast. Even an hour before they closed it up, many items were completely gone and not restocked. The sausage sat in water and was disgusting. It was the same every day. I thought they'd have bacon now and then and change the gross eggs (not scrambled like most places), but no. All else was absolutely fine. Nice rooms.

Couldnt understand the front desk staff. Lobby super loud, kids running up and down halls all night. Outside doors never locked. Not worth what they were charging.

The check-in was fine, room spacious & clean…only the TV didn’t work. The attendant at the desk had to come up twice to try and get it to work, still no TV for our stay. Very disappointed that nothing could be done to remedy this inconvenience!

Bedding wasn’t changed for 6 days. Many times they didn’t put clean towels.Didn’t replace tissue or toilet paper. Floors weren’t cleaned (Bathroom mostly). The in room phones were not working. I couldn’t call the front desk or revive messages. Didn’t replace coffee. There was a very loud beeping in room 213 I went to ask if someone could fix it. At first they told me that maintenance would not be available to until the next day. However the young lady at the desk was able to help. Keep in mind one of the most kindest lady that cleaned rooms. She did do an excellent job.

The room was immaculate and bed very comfortable. The refrigerator has a small freezer in it ,which was a special treat. The air conditioner was quiet ,which not always a given. There is also a chair/recliner in the room. The bathroom is large and shower great. There is ample parking with various access doors close to hotel which was great for us as we had lots of luggage. There is also a chair/recliner in the room. They were working on the spa but might be fixed by time you get there. Tips... the door handle to the room is a lift UP not press down and the ice machine is on the 5th flr. The people who work there are very friendly and exceedingly helpful. James went out of his way to help us with a couple questions. We didn't eat the breakfast because we are late sleepers so I cannot report on this. Highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Mesa.

Hotel had no spa or Jaccuzi working, I am disappointed . Need it to recovery after playing senior baseball tournament. In my fourth straight year at the same hotel during the same time . I’ll think about it if I return next year.

Room was spotless and staff was amazing!
- 1/5
Front office staff was never at the front desk and when she was she was rude, I walked by once and a person was actually yelling to front office but never come out. Very noisy all hours of the night and I had no hot water and the tv didn't work. Made an already stressful situation as my husband was at Banner Dessert in the ICU, made more stressful and anxiety - very little sleep. Gave me the wrong code to the internet so I was unable to work remotely at my job. Breakfast foods were slim if any at 0800 when it doesn't end until 0900. Just an all around stressful frustrating stay.
- 4/5
Though it looked like the room had seen some days but hopefully renovations and upgrades will be done soon.

The building has a lot of wear and tear. Lots of chipped paint dirt and /or light fixures falling off the wall.

- 5/5
Clean room, free breakfast, restaurants within walking distance.
- 2/5
The staff was very helping and accommodating, but the rooms and food we below par. The "double beds" were full size which I was not aware of until getting to the hotel. My roommates took part in the hotel breakfast and said they wouldn't even finish it. The only redeeming qualities about this stay was the staff and the pool.
- 5/5
The property is a older building that is well maintained the staff was very professional
- 1/5
Very noisy. Both nights the people next-door were very loud and up all night partying and talking. We checked out and went to a better hotel
- 5/5
It was a clean place. My only major complaint is not the hotel's fault, but the neighbors were loud. It was great overall.
- 4/5
Hotel in a nice area.
- 4/5
The room was clean but lots of wear and tear. The stair well smelled like urine. The parking lot asphalt is tore up. However the staff is kind, the breakfast was good. I believe it is a little overpriced.
- 4/5
The room was fairly clean but my sheets needed to be changed the day I arrived. I had a request that I called the front desk for but I didn’t hear back. I asked the front desk to change my sheets since there were small hairs consistent with dog hairs embedded in the sheet. I didn’t get any change of sheets till my 3rd night 2 days after I called. So I did my best to sweep off the dog hairs and slept on the area I had cleaned. My stay was 4 nights so half my stay was on the clean sheets and the other half was on sheets with dog hairs. Other than that the stay was fine. The property is across the street from the Mesa Police sub station so I had no issues with local homeless in view of the property.
- 3/5
The stay was ok, but the floor I was on, there were doors slamming all times of night. The room above me someones child was jumping and stomping on the floor the 5 nights I was there. The staff was good. I dont know about the breakfast. I didnt try it.
- 3/5
The breakfast was good. Hot tub was not working . I could not believe there was not a microwave nor a refrigerator in the room.
- 4/5
The tub is very slippery and I took a tumble and have a mild concussion from it. They should have dots of the tub or mats to make it less slippery.
- 2/5
- 4/5
Room was clean, breakfast had pretty good options. Was disappointed that the hot tub was not working especially since I was in the area for the Adult Baseball World Series and could have used a hot soak.

Wow… Such an awful experience. I left truly upset. Y’all need to get it together. Your payment system is an absolute mess. Even if going through Expedia contributed to the chaos, it’s absolutely unacceptable what I went through. I cried for an hour on my last night because you WOULDN’T STOP CHARGING ME AND GASLIT ME EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS. I WILL NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER STAY AT A LA QUINTA AGAIN, AND I AM TELLING ALL OF MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY ABOUT THIS GOD-AWFUL EXPERIENCE I HAD. Unless someone reaches out to make it right—and I mean REALLY make it right—then I swear to the divine that I will never book with La Quinta ever again. Done.

Room was clean and staff was polite and efficient good place to have a relaxing weekend
- 4/5
Nice area, staff were friendly and accomodating
- 4/5
They didnt have airport shuttle service. Had to call a local driver. 30$ plus 10$ tip. He was a great person and got me to airport but there is no shuttle. Also, hot tub not working
- 4/5
The room was clean and served it's purpose. The location is convenient to the Mesa Gateway Airport.
- 1/5
My room smelled like urine I asked the front desk multiple times to have someone spray something and never came. My room was never cleaned by house keeping I requested a mini fridge I was told he had to go look for one after a few hours I called back and was told he hasn’t had a chance to look for one. My stay is over and I’m still waiting for my mini fridge. Terrible service my family stayed in room 305. If you do stay here good luck!!
- 2/5
Clean room, yes, staff is terrible they have no idea of how they should greet and smile to the people that stay at the hotel. They simply are really really bad. no good morning or afternoon, not a single smile, you said thank you or something and no respone from them. the worst hotel staff ive ever seen speciually from the front desk people TERRIBLE. INTERNET does not work at all and when i filed a complaint the guy at the front desk just said: no one else has complained. Wordt experience ever. I will never ever stay there again and ill be sure to let everyone know this hotel is very very VERY BAD. The only decent thing was the room

We had a great stay!!!
- 5/5
The trip was good. Customer service over the phone was terrible. Got hung up on twice, terribke attitudes. We need to stop outsourcing Customer service over seas.
- 3/5
The plumbing was iffy, the sink drain made a weird gurgling noise and the toilet ran. The property was fairly clean, but rundown feeling. The elevators were really slow and made terrible grinding noises. The coffee I. The lobby was often empty. The staff was incredibly nice and friendly.
- 3/5
The bathroom in the room we stayed in was in desperate need of an update and cleaning. The breakfast was very disappointing.
- 5/5

The only I didn't like about the property. IT WAS TO hot to walk any where.

Great place, very safe especially because the police department across the street
- 5/5
It was great for the family emergency - the basic needs for a place to stay while visiting family at hospital. Very accommodating.
- 4/5
The location was great not far from restaurants. The room was clean and quiet but the elevator was slow and old one outlet in the room was not working either. But still a very nice stay and great breakfast.

AND Definitely need to get a new office manager. She threatened to call the cops on me. Because she said I stole her pen that I was borrowing. To write down some things and then dig. Give me my deposit back of $75. And said it was including the Towle's. That was three that we had make UP ON THEM She doesn't wanna work with them or us. She thought she was too good for it. And now here I am sitting on the street because of her. You need a new office manager and staff. Maybe I should IGCE¹¹QQFREEcome through and see what they all have to say. Cause no one knows English.
- 4/5
Overall property was clean but parking lot and pool can use some attention/maintenance
- 1/5
To make matters worse, the air conditioning wasn’t working, and the room itself looked extremely run-down and poorly maintained. I immediately called the front desk to report the condition of the room, and the response was lackluster at best. There was no urgency or real concern—just a half-hearted offer to move us to another room. The next morning, I spoke with the front desk again to express how dangerous that first room was. My young daughter had walked right up to that open window, not realizing the hazard. The situation could’ve ended in tragedy. The staff member I spoke with during checkout acknowledged that we should never have been placed in that room at all—it was supposedly marked as closed and unavailable for guests. Yet, despite this serious safety issue and the clear oversight on the hotel’s part, we received nothing but a simple apology. No compensation, no sincere effort to make things right—just a verbal “
- 5/5
Very clean
- 1/5
I didnt like that the pool opened at 9:00am, too late for me the sun comes out in Az @6:00am, they need to redo their pool times also the handicap seats looked broken and unusable, the person at the front desk didnt try much to work around the schedule as i mentioned to them im a early person and just wanted to swim for a short period of time, it seemed they weren't flexible at all...
- 5/5
I loved my room and the bed was so comfortable. I rarely can sleep in a hotel, but I slept very well. The only thing that needs attention is the elevators. They are pretty beat up and slow.
- 2/5
Customer service is lacking at the very least.
- 5/5
P.S. Breakfast was awesome, great way to start the day!
- 4/5
Older hotel and hotel interior needs work, but rooms were clean and pleasant.

- 5/5
All was ready and perfect.

It was great. The pool was very nice! Great customer service! Housekeeping was great. I would stay here again. Small breakfast.
- 1/5
They never returned my $75 security deposit. When I called to ask when i’d get it back. They said they already returned it. Told them I have bank statements that show otherwise. The girl said it wasn’t her problem & to dispute it with the bank. Never staying here again.
- 5/5
very nice place and friendly personnel
- 4/5
It was a good stay. Staff was always pleasant and the pool/courtyard area was kept in great condition it was a very enjoyable stay. Will certainly be coming back!
- 4/5
The stay was good. The elevator was out of date and shaky. The ice machines on floor 2 & 5 were out of service. The parking lot needs attebtion.
- 4/5
Clean. But rundown. Definitely needs a new parking lot. Also the maids need better cleaning equipment. The security is also a little weird. You can walk in the hotel without key cards. Our door to our bedroom door didn’t shut like normal hotel doors. It just swang open.
- 5/5
Good place to stay. I’ve been here many times and I’ve never been disappointed.
- 5/5
Appreciated the ease to check in and check out
- 5/5
Overall good
- 4/5
The jacuzzi did not work and the door to the room was very finicky. Otherwise, the property was clean, it was quiet, and there were good breakfast options.
- 5/5
The front desk staff were nice and accommodating. The pool and hot tub were also nice. We liked the layout of the hotel rooms.

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding my recent experience with La Quinta Inn & Suites Mesa West, booked through your platform. I feel strongly that the handling of my reservation and the lack of crucial information on your site resulted in a financial loss and an unacceptable customer experience. On May 25th, I booked a prepaid room at this property through Expedia. One of the main reasons I chose this hotel was because, unlike other listings, there was no mention of a required security deposit on the booking page. I specifically filtered for hotels that did not have additional fees or deposits clearly stated, as I would not have been able to pay an extra charge upon arrival. However, when I arrived to check in, the front desk staff demanded a $75 deposit. I explained to the employee that not only had I stayed at this hotel before without a deposit being required, but also that this charge was not disclosed anywhere on the Expedia listing. I tried to reason with her, but she was unhelpful, dismissive, and unwilling to escalate the issue to a supervisor. She refused to assist with canceling the reservation or provide any means of recourse—essentially leaving me stranded without accommodation or a refund. This experience was extremely frustrating, especially considering that the miscommunication originated between your platform and your hotel partner—not from any action or oversight on my part. Im expecting resolution.

Pretty pleasant Stay.
- 4/5
Enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
Very nice property - clean and friendly staff - nice location - would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Very Clean
- 5/5
Our stay was perfect. Check in was easy & so was our check out. The free hotel breakfast from 6am-9am was awesome as well. Good variety. Took my niece to the pool and it was great. All staff is friendly and very helpful. If I ever come back to Mesa, this will be stay for sure!
- 5/5
We were happy
- 1/5
Staff was not helpful at all when asked questions. They did not know the answers. The breakfast, by far, was the worst breakfast at a hotel I have ever had. Eggs were cold and flavorless. Few options of anything to eat. The printer available for guests was not working. Evidently you were suppose to email to the hotel whatever you needed printed but there was no sign on the printer letting you know it did not work or what to do. The staff was not able to help us either. The printer needs to be fixed. Pass through doors in rooms were not solid core which led to being able to hear everything that was going on in the next room. Too noisy.
- 5/5
Worth it. I will recommend to a friend.
- 5/5
Clean and professional
- 5/5
Carpets were filthy, but the rest of the room was fabulous.
- 5/5
Hotel was easy to find in a nice location away from the freeway, so we didn't hear the traffic. Nice and quiet location. The room was very nice and clean except the carpets. The carpets were horribly filthy. My socks will never be the same again. I would recommend cleaning them at least every 6 months. My guess is that they have never been done. If they have, it has been a very, very long time. Other than that, our stay was fantastic.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff and the room was nice. I would stay here again.
- 5/5
Quiet and clean
- 5/5
Nice area
- 5/5
The doors are heavy and are load when closed. There is no money changer for laundry machines. Had to visit another hotel.
- 4/5
Hotel was very nice.
- 5/5
So nice we stayed another day.
- 4/5
No hot water in the shower; key card reader responded poorly. When I brought these issues up to the staff they responded politely, professionally and helpfully.
- 4/5
While I was checking in, a very strong fragrance (maybe a deodorizer or cleaning product) triggered my asthma. Please use unscented products. Thank you.
- 3/5
It seemed a little run down. In need of some tlc to be nice. But the place was clean.
- 4/5
Stayed 13 nights. Hotel was convenient to family in Mesa. Hotel is showing signs of wear and tear, but clean and comfortable. Our room was a suite-separate bedroom- which was nice. Only complaint was that the breakfast was basically the same every day, and they had trouble keeping it fresh. Even the coffee. But would stay there again.
- 1/5
All public areas are in need or repair and maintenance. Broken pool furniture, the manager was nasty and rude about issues. Furniture in lobby and breakfast area very worn. Side entrance was dirty and didn’t lock. All in all it was a bad experience. Other guests also had similar issues and complaints
- 4/5
This was obviously an older facility and the elevator was the slowest moving one I’ve seen in years. Also thankful that this place had two elevators since one of them was broken the day before I arrived, as I can only imagine what a pain pulling my suitcases up to the higher floors would have been otherwise. This place has 7 floors. I enjoyed the morning breakfast being included with my stay. It was wonderful.
- 3/5
The elevator area was in rough shape and on the second day of my stay it was out of service for part of the day. Breakfast was meh and on the second morning it was actually cold.
