    We have stayed at this property multiple times a year over the past several years. This was the first time our reservation was "moved" from a king room to a double room because they were overbooked and because we had booked through hotels.com. There was also hardly any parking because there were 3 large trucks pulling long trailers taking up 3-5 spots each.

    The room was run down and stained, from the bathroom wall to the bedroom walls. The shower had a layer of grime on the floor. The toilet had an issue where it wouldn't stop running without adjusting the handle or lifting the lid to manually stop it from running. They also put us in an ADA accessible run, and we have full mobility. If someone with mobility issues needed that room, it wouldn't have been accessible due to persons with full mobility occupying the space. Ridiculous.

    This is definitely an older hotel. The parking area is dark and I probably wouldn’t feel safe if I was alone after dark. The furnishings specifically the chairs in the room are dirty/stained. I probably wouldn’t stay again. The check in was a little chaotic as well, they at first said they didn’t have a room and then offered me a room that was really smelly and the a/c wouldn’t turn on but then they magically had a room after I complained it was just weird. On a good note the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet.

    No AC in the first room and had to wait for 45 minutes while they tried to fix it. After an extended wait we were then given another room where the air cut on but none of the controls worked and we found out after the air only cuts on every 3-4 hours. We slept in sweat and abysmal discomfort. We didn’t even stay the second night the thought of having to wait for another room AGAIN or sleep on a sauna was terrifying. Loud bangs all night people screaming and partying. This is NOT A HILTON do not be tricked and stay there. Spent $300 on 1 night of pain.

    Breakfast was good, but the tables were sticky. The water in our bathroom was shut off at 9:00amish and when I complained at the Desk, he suggested we use the lobby bathroom. After I rejected that, some came to our room and said they had fixed the problem.

We the front desk clerk came to the room about 45 minutes later, she handed me the trash bags and so I emptied the trash. Also, I had to request fresh towels in which I got them from the clerk at the front desk on Wednesday and I brought down the soiled towels. I did speak with the manager, and he said that he will get in touch with Expedia concerning a discount.

I was safe entering and leaving the hotel. The Hampton Inn provides breakfast every morning. The food is tasty, and the buffet area is clean. They have juices on tap, coffee, eggs, potatoes, sausage, biscuits with gravy, bagels and other items, which change on a daily basis. The people working here are polite and friendly. Everything was fine. I don’t have any problems with this hotel.

    The area around the hotel was fine, it was close to Downtown Matthews. The hotel was easy to check-in to using the Hilton App. The room had ripped carpet right in front of the entry door. Possible tripping hazard for those using a walking assistance device. The room had an odor consistent with something being wet and souring. Since I was traveling alone, it did not bother me to the point to request a different room. Though I would have if my spouse had been with me. I most likely will not stay at this location or chain again. I usually stay at other Hilton properties (Double-Tree or Embassy Suites) with a much better experience. Based on this stay, I would not reommend this place to a friend.

    There was little to appreciate. I booked this hotel because of my previous experience with the Hampton Inn brand. The amenities and level of service I experienced during my stay were below what I experienced at other Hampton Inn locations. Breakfast on Saturday was good with egg white frittatas, sausage, and breakfast potatoes. The staff with two exceptions, were unable or unwilling to work to meet my needs. My needs are simple: cold Coca-Cola and hot coffee/tea. The carafes in the lobby were not stocked with hot coffee or water for tea except at breakfast. To get hot water any other time, I had to wait for the concierge to go to the breakfast preparation room and get hot water from the industrial coffee maker which also dispenses hot water. The coffee was lukewarm and was weaker than the current Democratic Party elected leaders. The pantry where guests could purchase snacks was poorly stocked. My first night, all that was in the refrigerated section were a few bottles of Dasini water, cherry Powerade, and a few cans of Monster energy drink; but no Coca-Cola. I told this to the concierge who asked if I was a Hilton Diamond member. She told me that if I was a Hilton Diamond member then she could give me one can of Coca-Cola free of charge as one of the benefits of that membership tier. I informed her that I was not and am not a Hilton Diamond member but that I offered to purchase a can of Coca-Cola. She said that those cans of Coca-Cola were not for individual sale. It is also important to point out that there are no soda vending machines on this property. The breakfast was underwhelming. Friday’s breakfast was instant eggs, stale biscuits, and watery sausage gravy.

    This site was close to where I needed to be for my class. This property looks like they are doing repairs from a water leak problem in the bathrooms. They did not take out my trash from my room, but I guess I was to ask for that. I am surprised as when I worked for the Hampton Inn that was my job. I was told to take out the trash, make the bed, and wipe down the bathroom. I did not get that service.

    The staff was amazing the the breakfast was very good. The area where they served breakfast was very clean and the coffee was good and hot. The front desk staff for the evening shift when we checked in at 4 was so very Nice and accommodating. The room was very dirty and there was some weird carving on the bathroom shelf. The bathroom ceiling had a big unfinished drywall patch and there was no Soap at all. That is more of a convince than a big deal, just missed having it. None of the outlets worked around the bed either. The staff was very friendly and they were also very apologetic when I told them about the issues we had. The more important issue was the fact that the morning staff did not show up and the front desk night shift employee just left and went home. The breakfast lady was the only one there and she checked us out by taking the keys and using a sticky to write the room number down. It was just disheartening that a hotel chain like Hilton didn’t care more about a very busy Charlotte area hotel or the reputation of the Hilton name.

Seeing bugs near elevator on my floor and near my room Maybe use pest control a little more often could quickly turn that around. I would comeback in hopes of that change. Very nice area to a place I will begin traveling too more often in the coming year.

Was not expecting Ritz quality for $160/night, but my restroom had a patch in the ceiling that was never taped and painted over (exposed screws and seams), the bathtub had a hole smashed in it with a bunch of caulk to conceal it. The toilet had a lose bolt and would rock on the wax seal (surprised it didnt leak on the floor). Overall, it did what it needed, but will never be staying there again.

    Large roaches showed up in our room after we did a check for bed bugs and other things. One of the desk staff tried to be helpful and understand but was quickly silenced by the other staffer. While the hotel appeared nice this experience was off-putting and I don’t recommend staying there until they get the roach problem under control.

    I was disappointed in the breakfast, since there was limited hot items and those available were egg fratatta with hot peppers inside and the sausage was also spicy. However, there were other cold items available and coffee and tea were available in the lobby all day and the staff were pleasant and helpful. I I'd say a little more attention to detail in the hotel would improve it.

    I had to press the button very hard and multiple times on the TV remote in order to change the channel. The coffee maker did not have the filter basket so I wasn't able to use it. The bed was comfortable, plenty of outlets in the room and great lighting. I went downstairs Sunday morning at 6:15 a.m. to get coffee. Both urns were full but the coffee was very cold as if it had been made the day prior yet breakfast had started at 6:00 a.m. I went back to the room and returned at 6:40 and the urns were gone. I returned at 7:00, but still no coffee. It was finally being brought out of the kitchen area at 7:10. Very disappointing especially since it was Sunday morning and the place was busy. On Monday morning, the coffee was lukewarm again disappointing. Breakfast options are good. I've stayed in this hotel a few times and this was the first time I've had issues.

    The Pool was out of Service. The Hot water took 30 minutes to come through. Staff was useless. The a/c you couldn’t turn down but shut off in middle of the night. The carpet was sticky on your Flip Flops. The elevator was disgusting not cleaned. The vent in bathroom looked Moldy. The floor in the buffet was sticky floors dirty. The Orange juice tasted rancid. Absolutely STAY AWAY. No where near $160 a night. I was sickened at the thought of having to stay here. Never Ever Again! I thought Hampton Inn was a upscale chain, well not this location at All. Management should be embarrassed and above All the CEO or President of this location needs to pay a visit. I’m definitely Bot impressed and I will Never stay at a Hampton Inn again!

We were told by the front desk person it was a fee that was charged to each room to maintain the parking lot . We were like …>what. My sister and I both asked for the charge to be removed by the manager . We were told it’s in print somewhere on the website . That my be true , but who reads every little item of the book that’s on a site . If the hotel needs parking maintenance money , it should be included in the hotel fee and not appear as a ridiculous chrge at checkout .

    Requested a room with 2 beds and a sofa bed. When we got there, there wasn't one. No room service. Asked foe extra towels and for the trash to be gathered and enough towels for a week were left in a bag outside the door. No garbage picked up.No cups in the room for coffee.

    Small things that makes a difference ie bad odor around the lobby area!!, no dark roast coffee!! Breakfast area tables were sticky. Room was very nice.
