    One of the main reasons we got our room was we wanted to be able to use the pool and jet tub for aches and pains. My husband has a work injury and myself and suffering from frozen shoulder so we wanted to be able to use the pool and be able to use jet tub after checking in which was also an issue because of going through hotels.com. we go downstairs in the pool is closed so that was disappointing. Our room was nice and very clean for some reason we couldn’t get the water to run cold and hot at the same time we don’t know why but in the jet tub, but we got it to run cold after the Jets were on. It was strange. The staff are not at the check-in desk when we got there it took a few minutes and they had to go find them, but everyone was friendly. I can say that everyone was friendly and I would still suggest them clean, friendly people, we enjoyed it even out on the patio having a drink from the bar.

    I stayed there June 5th and 6th while my son attended a football camp at Liberty. My problem was not with the hotel facilities, but with the staff and their response to my complaint about a broken refrigerator in my room. I told the front desk clerk the morning of the 6th and she said she would have someone look into it. I also told another employee when we were together on the elevator. She said she would have someone look into it. No one did! I ended up buying a cooler to store my son's drinks and food. I noticed in the elevator there was a sign that stated your satisfaction (or something to that effect) was Guaranteed. That was not the case. How hard would it have been to replace the refrigerator or move me to a different room? The hotel was not busy.

    We liked the convenience of the location for the activities we were involved in with family . The room was clean and the shower was easy to use for older people. The restaurant was convenient later at night and the food was delicious. There was nothing!

    The only reason we chose this location was it is still showing that it has a reasonable sized indoor hut tub with the indoor pool. Not only was the indoor pool to cold to even enter. There is no hot tub. The rooms lighting was terrible.

    I made my reservation a month in advance as part of a wedding block. Two weeks prior to my arrival, I also called the hotel to request an early check-in due to my flight schedule. I was assured that early check-in would be noted and accommodated. However, when I arrived around 10:00 a.m., the front desk receptionist was immediately dismissive and rude. I was told I could not check in until 4:00 p.m., even though the listed check-in time online is 3:00 p.m. I explained that I had called ahead and was part of the wedding block, but instead of trying to help, she told me that “25 other people had priority” over my stay. I stayed in the lobby waiting for hours. During that time, I overheard the receptionist giving different and inconsistent explanations to multiple guests, which made the situation even more frustrating. When I checked back in around 2:30 p.m. (just 30 minutes before the standard check-in time), I was told there were still no rooms available. At that point, I still had no room, no clear communication, and no assistance from staff. Due to the lack of availability and poor customer service, I had to book a room at another hotel. Despite this, I was still charged for one night at this location—even though I never checked in or stayed there. Overall, this experience was extremely unprofessional and stressful, especially given that I had planned ahead for a special event. I would not recommend.

    I stayed in a junior suite. That gave me the room I needed to have a few friends over just to sit and talk. There was a an additional room very much like a living room with a sofa nice large chair, etc.. So, the bedroom was a bit separate. That was ideal for meeting with a few friends who suffered a loss along with me. The hotel was near the airport and that was important. It was a long flight from San Diego, and I didn’t want to spend extra time getting to and from the hotel. The staff was exceptional and far exceeded my expectations. Joan brought my dinner order to my room when I was too exhausted to go downstairs. Hana assured me that the restaurant would accommodate whatever number of people were joining me for breakfast. Ashley, at the front desk, suggested a private seating area that was perfect for our conversations and then she put the utensils out at each seating. Christina served us a wonderful breakfast and Ms. Pat kept everything refreshed. This staff went above and beyond to make us all comfortable. At a time when things were not easy for me, they took good care of me. Thank you, Hilton, for hiring this caliber of staff. I appreciate them all, and you for hiring them! Nothing at all. As a matter fact, it was very exciting to see all of the young people who came to this hotel as a part of an association with Liberty University. That was incredibly encouraging to see. On the one hand, I was celebrating a life so well lived, and on the other, I was looking at the future right there in the same hotel.

    BREASFAST WAS NOT INCLUDED. Hotel was clean, room was large. location good. We travel here often. Room heating unit loud, lamp between beds not working, one bar of soap, sink would not hold water for shaving, both beds sunk in middle...terrible night. Usually stay at the Hampton Inn but thought this would be nicer.

    The staff were friendly and were kind considering the challenges they were facing. Lots of available parking and the location is convenient for the rest of Lynchburg. The workout facilities were convenient. Upon arrival I learned that there was no running water or wifi. Obviously this was abnormal and not in the plan. Guests seemed very frustrated and some seemed as if they were leaving because of it. The nice staff member was working as hard as she could and was considerate but she has no help from other team members or staff and she could've used it.

    The people were great. The hotel has 126 rooms and three luggage carts. When we arrived there were no carts and we don’t travel light. We were told that folks will keep the carts in their rooms so they have them for checkout. Also, only one (of two) elevator was working which added to the time to get to and from our room. Very nice room and nice common areas. Plenty of parking.

    This would have been a pretty perfect stay except for a couple of things. I noticed that several areas needed some real cleaning. The workout room did not have any provision for wiping down the equipment, therefore it was smelly and not very appealing. Many public areas needed to be mopped. Lots of old spills had become dirty with traffic. Although there is nothing that the hotel can do, it is located on a busy highway, and the racing motorcycles were quite loud from 9-midnight. My room was very nice. My only complaint is the shower head. Those “water saving” heads only make it more difficult to rinse off. I spent 3 times as long in the shower as I normally do when I can just rinse off with a normal flow of water. But I will give you 10 stars on the hotel staff. Everyone, from check-in to check-out, to the cafe server, were absolutely wonderful. They were helpful, courteous, and friendly. And our cooked-to-order breakfast was exceptional. My expectations were totally exceeded! 😁 Real pancakes, perfectly cooked eggs, and wisely proportioned home fries were excellent! So I give HGI five stars despite the infractions. And I forgot to mention how conveniently close HGI is to the airport. So, I will be back and will probably make this my “home” when I visit Lynchburg.

    Close to my event and room was comfortable Short staff making everything complicated. Check in was an absolute nightmare and the room keys repeatedly didn’t work needing reprogrammed and batteries changed not just for my 2 rooms but pretty much the whole hotel.

    It was very clean, comfortable and close to campus. The staff was kind, respectful, and professional. Not anything against the property. However, don’t like to find out that Hilton changed policies so that breakfast is not included, even for Hilton Honors guests. You have to pay for breakfast.

    First room was missing the desk chair and had extremely stained carpets with bad smell. We were given a second room which had even worse staining on carpet (vomit or animal urine) and privacy lock did not function. When we tried to reduce our 2-night booking, we were told that we could not due to third-party booking. Very disappointed in this stay and why we could not leave after such poor conditions of the rooms that we were assigned. Travelers' rights should be protected in circumstances like this to end booking contract due to unsafe and unsanitary conditions.

    I know we should always wear some type of shoe in a hotel room...but I have never stayed at a hotel that I absolutely, under NO circumstances, would dare put a bare foot down on the filthiest carpet I have ever seen. The hallway to our room smelled...of course that smell had to be coming from the carpet. The carpet seriously needs to be replaced. The bed was comfortable and the room satisfactory. The fact that there was not a complimentary breakfast was also a deal breaker...we won't be back. The breakfast bar offered for $19.95 was extremely basic for that exorbitant price. The menu was less than special as well. With there being so many close by choices to have a nice breakfast that won't break the bank, it is obvious why we never saw too many people in the dining room.

The hallway to our room smelled...of course that smell had to be coming from the carpet. The carpet seriously needs to be replaced. The bed was comfortable and the room satisfactory. The fact that there was not a complimentary breakfast was also a deal breaker...we won't be back. The breakfast bar offered for $19.95 was extremely basic for that exorbitant price. The menu was less than special as well. With there being so many close by choices to have a nice breakfast that won't break the bank, it is obvious why we never saw too many people in the dining room.

    For the amount of money I paid to stay in a Junior Suite the room was so dirty. When we stated that 2 queens were necessary as booked, we were told “no more rooms are available.” We were told no extra bedding was available and were given a mattress protector to use as a blanket for the sleeper sofa. We did not get more towels until the following night! The phone in our room did not work. We contacted Expedia for assistance and they stated that the front desk was not answering the call.     As soon as I walked into the hotel, I was greeted kindly. The lady who checked me in had a wonderful personality and I checked in with ease. The reason for our stay was for a wedding and when we weren’t busy, we took advantage of the pool at night. The pool closed at 10 which was a huge plus. The room was a little out dated, compared to other Hiltons we have stayed out. However, still nice nonetheless. The only negative I have to say, was that there was one floor that as soon as you opened the elevator to, it smelled STRONGLY of pot. So much so, that staff was knocking on each door to find the right room. This was a family hotel so it really threw me that someone was doing it in their room when it clearly says no smoking. There was plenty of smoking areas outside.

    I booked this stay with Hilton because we wanted to enjoy a hot tub and indoor pool. Unfortunately, the hot tub was not working correctly. It was not really hot and the jets weren't working. There were also Ants (insects) that were all around the hot tub. The room was just ok. The beds were very hard, the refrigerator made a very high pitched noise that was very irritating, the AC was really loud, there were spiders in the bathroom, and we had to ask for everything.....new towels, shampoo, conditioner, extra bar soap, etc. We usually stay in Hilton and I am a member of Hilton Honors. This hotel is obviously old or something. It doesn't even compare with other Hilton properties. The only positive was the front desk receptionists. I don't think I saw a repeat lady the whole five days we were there. However, they were all very patient, thorough, and kind. There was always a line to wait in because there was only one lady working at a time and the computer was down a couple of times I had to go and request assistance. All of these ladies were super kind and helpful. This property will definitely NOT be on my stay list the next time I visit Lynchburg.
