Nice curb appeal, entry way was clean, pool was nicely maintained. Room was large, not much furniture but very clean and quiet. Staff were all personable. Breakfast was typical for these hotels, for me not very appealing as I do not eat scrambled eggs and bacon was very greasy. I am not staying at these hotels for the breakfast so it was adequate for a start to the day with a stop for lunch afterwards.

It was excellent!! Beautiful area, beautiful hotel and beautiful staff. Enjoyed our time very much. The new restaurant was awesome. Food was amazing, staff was awesome and prices were so reasonable! Location was great. Room was clean. Wifi never worked. Pool was 55degrees and no sign saying heater was broken. Shower was wierd where the head was on the side of the shower snd water sprayed out the whole time. Only 1 roll of toliet paper in room.

The restaurant and breakfast area was very large. Water to enjoy at our convenience. This hotel was close to the wedding venue for us. The living room and kitchen was open and TV in both rooms very nice.Staff was very compassionate to our concerns. Maids were so nice So we had many issues with the room. We started with no toilet paper in whole suite. No dishes,pots or other items in the kitchen. The maids quickly gave us the toilet paper and extra towels. We had wedding curriculum that kept us busy. Next morning I went for early coffee and waited for room to open at 7am. The coffee was horrible and oily and tasted like it was reheated from the day before. Other couples had gone out for the coffee warned us how bad it was. Maybe an upgrade of coffee and offering it in lobby would be a great idea. The buffet was good but also warned that they run out of food quickly and don't refill the buffet. Lastly we used the washer unit and it leaked water all over the bathroom and my husband actually found that the drain pipe was not connected! He was able to fix it as we needed our clothes that were inside the locked washer. It took until the next day for the clothes to wash and to dry completely, which was very hard on us. Staff apologized and were so nice about the whole issue. Maybe a stay in another room, with working things as this room should have been ready for us,or not available!

Beautiful property and the staff were very helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. My room was quiet (despite it being college graduation time!) but my water pressure for my shower was not it. I did not speak to staff about it but it should be looked into!

This was my third time staying here and I will be back every time we are down at Liberty University. Our room was very clean. The decor was so cute, very boutique feeling. The pool was clean and warm. The breakfast was hot and fresh. I’m looking forward to my next stay!

Told nothing about trash removal for the room They were polite just not informed about no housekeeping until the second day of my check in Had I known that I would not have stayed there. I did not pay for Full service in order No to receive full service Half of my hotel fee should be Refunded. One of the best family hotels around. I brought my children of ages 3mo, 16, 13, and 11 to this hotel and it did not disappoint. The restaurant that is attached, Tori Blue was very nice. The indoor pool gave the children something to do while I was able to get some focused gym time as well. The aesthetic of the hotel is absolutely stunning. This is a very peaceful hotel with exceptionally kind and accommodating staff members. Rooms were spacious and clean. No issues at all over Easter weekend. Enjoyed it. 10/10

Lovely hotel with a boutique vibe. We loved the lobby & dining area - especially the fire pit for cozy evenings. The staff are super friendly and always ready with a smile & hello. Tori Blue Restaurant being in site was an added bonus!

A few areas could be improved: the bathroom had no counter space, though we understand it was an accessible room and we booked it because the standard king rooms were unavailable; a closet or larger clothing rack would have been helpful; having outlet hubs on both sides of the bed would have been more convenient; and while the WiFi was very easy to connect to, it did go in and out during our stay.

The personnel were very good and the hotel was clean. The only issue is the noise. Every sound made in the hallway and other rooms echoed into our room. There is no floor covering (i.e. carpet) so there is nothing to absorb the sounds. The large gap under the door did not help.

AC wasn’t bad it just wasn’t able to be programmed to stay consistent and so the room constantly warmed and then cooled which is uncomfortable to sleep on. Cleanliness, staff and parking were all just fine. For the second time now we were awakened in the middle of the night to a very strong smell of pot being smoked. This will prevent us from staying there in the future.

Heating and cooling were excellent. There were problems operating the tv's and no instructions.

My suite was beautiful - comfy bed, large space, two TVs, full kitchen with glasses, dishes, pots and pans. This was far nicer than I expected! The breakfast wasn’t great (it wasn’t horrible - just a little weak)

Our king suite was much larger & better equipped than we expected: appreciated the full-size fridge, freezer, microwave and sink. Sleeper sofa was a little lacking, but suited our needs. Breakfast was hearty and yummy. Wished for a mirror outside the bathroom to use to get ready while someone was using shower or toilet. Planned to use the pool but it was too cold.

Decor is super weird but overall a good stay. Room was a bit sterile but bed was comfy. Poor was great for the kids!

It was a good stay. When we checked in the first room they gave us looked like it hadn't been completely ready. We went to the desk and they set us up with another room right away. It was clean. It was quiet. Breakfast was good.

The property on inside is very nice and clean I’m not satisfied on how they kept the outside of their property;the parking was full of ice and snow after the snow storm. The rates continued raise even higher although their parking lots were full of ice and snow making it difficult for guests to enter and exit.I had to pay over 300$ for a wrecker to pull me out of the snow. I honestly feel the manager and the owner weren’t concerned about my issue,they made no attempt to get the ice and snow removed from their property which I paid to stay on.I feel I should be reimbursed or compensated for having to pay a wrecker to get me pulled off of their property. I have been a loyal customer up until this point.

The breakfast room was another mismatch of furniture, oddly placed tables over a fountain from decades, gone by. Scrapes and scratches were all over the walls of the hotel. Definitely took their pictures a couple years ago.

The room had snacks still from the previous guest. Some bugs were present in the bathroom. Breakfast was good but some items were not restocked. Parking was not plentiful enough. Smoking was allowed right outside the front door. You had to walk right through it to get in the entrance. Nice budget hotel. Safe. No frills.

It was so elegant for a economic hotel option. The desk staff told me that it was family owned and one of one. There are no others very well kept. Although I did have to come out to the desk during breakfast because there was no milk for the cereal. The kitchen staff member was actually out at the front desk talking to the desk clerk and immediately apologized saying," my bad! That's on me sir. I'll go get the milk right away!" He apologized at least four times and I told him once was enough!

Our check in experience was great, everything else not so great. The AC was extremely loud and rattled all night, the room was okay at first glance but the craftsmanship of the remodel was really poorly done and made the room look dirty. The parking is minimal so don’t plan on a late night or your parking on the street.

These comments are made hopes that changes will be instituted to make the stay at The Bella Vista a 5 Star experience, which I think it could be...I'm willing to come back for another stay, however my wife has written this hotel off her list. There is a restaurant attached but we only had dessert. The Belgium chocolate mousse was excellent. The bathroom was not clean. I cleaned it myself. And the last night the toilet backed up.That was the only negatives. If the bathroom was clean i would have given a higher rating.

This hotel was nicely updated at some point in the past, and has had no maintenance since then. Crumbling siding outside, scuffed walls, old grout. Housekeeping falls a bit short as well. The beds were clean and comfortable, though they didn’t have enough pillows, and there was a lot of dust in the bathroom and bedroom. The place was quiet and secure, and comfortable once the lights were turned off. I did love the big bath towels in the bathroom.

This property was absolutely amazing! I do not have 1 complaint. All of the staff were amazingly friendly and very helpful. We needed help with my husband's tie for a church conference, and one of the front desk staff assisted us with getting help. A gentleman from the kitchen helped us without complaint. Anytime I am in this area, this will definitely be where my family and I will go. This property was absolutely amazing! I do not have 1 complaint. All of the staff were amazingly friendly and very helpful. We needed help with my husband's tie for a church conference, and one of the front desk staff assisted us with getting help. A gentleman from the kitchen helped us without complaint. Anytime I am in this area, this will definitely be where my family and I will go. I booked this hotel for a business trip. When you walk in, the area is gorgeous and very "boutique" style. Going in my room, I was a little shocked. It was very large and open, no carpet or rugs, and no mirror! I am not a prisspot by any means, but I do like to get myself together for a business meeting, in front of a mirror where I can sit my stuff to be easily accessible. I went to the bathroom, and there is the mirror, on the wall beside the toilet, the sink is outside of the toilet area with just a large opening above it like a windowless window. There is a cosy looking chair in the room with a foot stool but it was dark blue and covered in fuzz and who knows what. The floors were swept but im not sure they were mopped. Luckily I was only there for one night so I made it work because I was too tired to make a fuss. If they put more effort into the rooms, like they have the main lobby, it would make it feel nicer! One last thing, theres no phone in the room. I have a cellphone but, a room phone seems customary and especially in case of emergency. I am not usually a reviewer of things but this was a bit wild. I was grateful to have a place to lay my head, and I am fortunate to have that luxury. I believe the advertisement for this place is false!

The property was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious.The only negative was that the room only had 2 towels for the 3 of us. When we asked for another they said they were out but were able to give us a pool towel. Just make sure you have enough towels when you get to the room.

We checked in very late after 12 am . They had did some remodeling on the doors so the room we had the door wouldn’t lock so we didn’t feel safe staying in that room the gentleman working the desk that night went out of his way to find us a room on the same floor and moved us within 15-20 mins of checking in .

At 4:50 AM, a large dog in a nearby room began barking loudly, scratching at the door, and causing a significant disturbance. I contacted the front desk, and while the attendant assured me they would address the issue, the noise persisted. When I called again, expressing concern that the dog seemed to be attempting to break through the door, the only solution offered was for me to move to another room—at 5 AM. This was not a reasonable resolution. The following day, I spoke with management, who assured me the dog had been removed and acknowledged that asking me to relocate was not an appropriate response. However, they stated that no refund or compensation could be offered since I had booked through a third-party site (Hotels.com). Check in was a breeze with my debit card, but FYI they don't take cash. The room was definitely clean but had a funny smell. Key cards didn't work to open our door so maintenance was called in. Took about 30 minutes, but they had a nice lounge area to wait in. Maintenance opened our door but did not replace the batteries so we would have had the same problem the next day if we hadn't been checking out anyway. Beds were comfortable but there are no frills in the room, which was fine since the price was so reasonable. You can hear everything in other rooms and in the hallway, by the way. I was glad we didn't bring our little kids. Two nice, big shower towels in the room, but we had three people and the front desk said they were out of towels. They were also out of breakfast. Breakfast is served from 7-10am but when we went down at 8:30am the baseball team also staying there had just come down and gotten their food and there was nothing (except fruit loops) left (no coffee, no eggs, no bagels, no bacon) and no staff in sight. I hope they were making more food. We went to Sheetz for breakfast. Hotel is in a great location to visit Liberty University and be near shops and stores. Although there is no information in the room about dining and places to go. But the wi-fi worked so Google helped us.

This property has been remolded. The rooms are comfortable and clean

It was definitely nicer than the kirkley kids loved the pool. Loved the newly decorated. There was no one at the desk at any time. Smoking. Breakfast was minimal.

The hotel walking in was beautiful but that did not continue into our rooms. The beds were the hardest most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept on. The breakfast was the worst. No one was in the main breakfast room to replace items, no coffee creamer, no ketchup, no milk. We had to look through cabinets with other guests to find what we needed. Thought maybe it was just a staffing issue that day but the same exact experience the next morning.

Their “redo” left rooms with uncarpeted floors, beds with metal sides that banged loudly every time I got out of bed, and a tiny bathroom with a straight curtain rod that draped the shower curtain over your shoulder no matter how you stood in the tiny tub showers. Go elsewhere unless they radically cut their rates.

Current owners remodeled an existing hotel. The design is all over the place. Service was like walking into a morgue. There has to be friendlier employees in Lynchburg. Room had no hangers for clothes and there was no where to put your toiletries in the bathroom. Needs more attention to detail.

The lobby is very beautiful.

We had to ask for towels and we were given bath mats as only option. There were stains on the pillows and towels. The place felt very dingy, old and unkept.

Recently renovated. Great complimentary breakfast. Clean hotel. Would suggest adding full-length mirrors to rooms and also getting rid of the odd bed-frame surround (if you bump it with your foot sounds like you're banging on aluminum). Other than that, fantastic hotel for the price. We'd stay here again.

The staff was fantastic. Very easy to check-in, they were professional and accommodating. We had requests and they went above and beyond to help. Would definitely stay again.

Breakfast was not very good. Each day the food was never restocked food undercooked. The hotel walls were very thin, noisy.

Walking in we were amazed at the decor and cleanliness. This was true until we walked into room. Cracks where ceiling met walls looked like it may fall. No decor at all in the room. No curtains. Was disappointed that indoor pool was not heated. Apparantly the chef didnt show for breakfast buffet. Stale pastries and lack if hot food.

Our stay was great! Loved the feel of the hotel. It felt very clean and airy. Our only complaint is that the pool was COLD. We were very excited to swim but it was too cold in the indoor pool. Otherwise, it was a really great stay!

Hotel is going thru extensive renovations. No noise but no real amenities. Restaurant only serves buffet breakfast which is set out and left. The first days in our stay my husband and I didn’t encounter another guest. It was like deserted. We wanted to switch to a suite but were told they were full. Strange cause our car was the only one in the parking lot other than the workers. We chose this hotel because we stayed there 15ish years ago when it was the kirkley. And a lot has changed. As of right now there is no bar, no soda machine or anywhere in the hotel to get a snack after breakfast ends at 11am. The room we were given was spacious to the point of being sparse. No art on the walls. A area where curtains should go but no curtains just blinds. The room seemed so empty that the bathroom being so small that I could put my feet up on the tub as I sat on the toilet AND brush my teeth in the sink at the same time was comical if it wasn’t so claustrophobic. The staff were awesome and the bed was very comfortable. I’m sure once it’s completed it will be great. So far the renovations seem very “trendy”.

First time staying here. Sadly the cons outweigh the pros. The staff was friendly and helpful. The lobby and the common areas were very nicely decorated and clean. The room itself was very spacious and the bath towels were very large. Everything else is a con. Although the room was large it was missing a full length mirror and the furniture felt too small for the room, including the TV. The refrigerator in the dresser was too large and the door wouldn’t close. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, one step above sleeping on the floor. In addition the beds have a metal frame that makes a loud noise if you accidentally kick it, which was great when someone got up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. One of the comforters also had stains on it. Although there was a physical vent in the bathroom it was not connected to anything and therefore didn’t turn on. The lobby had no water or coffee/tea set up except for breakfast time. The breakfast was very limited, which wasn’t so bad, except the juices were watered down. The gym also had no water. I’m not sure if they are still under construction but there were signs that things were incomplete such as a large tarp hanging in the eating area. Finally, the wifi was barely usable.

When you walk into the Bella Vista you feel as though you have walked into a five star luxury hotel. The decor is spectacular. Check in was seemless. Linda was very sweet, informative and funny. Our room was spacious and clean. I absolutely loved the decor and amenities. Although the water was cold, the pool was great. I loved that the pool goes from 3 ft to 6ft and is long enough to really swim. Towels on the pool deck would be nice touch. Our problem was the bed. Both, my teen daughter and I, had a miserable night. The mattress is very firm. Too firm!!! I was sore for a couple of days after our stay. After I checked out, I was waiting for my daughter to come back to pick me up. Leah at the front desk was so kind and helpful. I have to add that breakfast the next morning was very good. So much so that my daughter said, "Yep, we are just going to have to bring a mattress topper the next time we come." LOL

The property is very nice. The staff was friendly. The amenities were adequate.

The queen size beds seemed to be small, the room was a little dirty, and there was no shower soap or shampoo. The breakfast was decent.

The Christmas trees and all decorations outdoors were beautiful and elegant and tastefully designed!! I was able to visit Santa too!!! The rooms were exceptionally clean to where I was not afraid to walk around in bare feet!!! The free breakfast was lacking however.

This was very close to LU and a good stay for the price. Hotel was remodeled but you could still tell it was an older facility. Rooms were large, clean and decorated nicely. Good price for an overnight stay.

For over an hour a family and a large party blasted music loudly with their door open and their kids running around while they kept yelling down the hall at them. The staff clearly knew the party because they were also hanging out with them in the lobby. Mind you this was from 10 to 11 pm and nobody on staff addressed this issue. We finally decided to leave at 1115 pm and drive over an hour home because of how loud it was. Even when we walked out the front door i could hear the music from the other end of the hotel. Last time staying here ever.
