Reviews
The hotel is generally praised for its cleanliness, friendly staff, and comfortable beds. However, concerns about the location, lack of privacy, and limited bathroom facilities are frequently mentioned.
- Cleanliness and comfort of the rooms
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Location is not ideal for walking to attractions and can be unsafe at night
- Limited bathroom facilities for the number of guests

I was unable to gain access to the property, even after calling multiple times.

friendly staff and helpful and the rooms are nice

The staff is attentive and always around with there being someone continuously on duty to make sure that guests and their belongings are kept safe, giving the place a homey vibe for international travelers. The convenience of having laundry facilities (which you add coins to) with soap included on site makes your stay even more convenient. A special shout out to Stephanie, Scott, Christopher, Harley, and buddy Zach for their warmth and hospitality.

I had a delayed flight. I called the property 3times the day before arriving to cancel and got no answer. I tried calling once more the day of and same thing no answer. so I called Expedia who also called and got no answer. I finally got a text late that day giving check in instructions. I sent screenshots and advised that I was unable to reach the staff, and was told a refund could not be issued because it was after 24hrs but I attempted well within the grace period. I was told via text that they would get with a supervisor regarding the issue. And still have yet to hear back.

The location was okay. Dirty, dark, foul-smelling, cluttered, hallway filled with luggage making it almost impassible (major fire hazard), stiflingly hot (no AC, no open windows). Basically, the pictures completely misrepresent the property. I'm a low maintenance traveler but it was simply too disgusting to stay. BEWARE: they avoid accountability by hiding behind a strict cancellation policy and booking.com will not help you recoup your money.

The staff was excellent, the issue is that the place was stinky. But other than that was perfect.

There was no hot water during my stay. The kitchen lacks enough glasses and mugs for the guests. The trash bins should be emptied more often as they were always too full. AC was not working well in my room.
- 0.5/5
The check-in process was also confusing; the email mentioned 'pods' on the left, but no doors were labeled as such, and the codes provided did not work on any of the doors I tried. To make matters worse, there were no towels available, and the shower water never warmed up. I ended up having to leave and spend the rest of the night in my car at the airport parking lot. Additionally, parking near the property is nearly impossible. I hope the management can improve their signage and maintenance, as this was a very stressful stay

The location is great; I've stayed here before and I'd stay here every time I return to LA. Cannot beat the price, and I absolutely love the pod bed set up--sufficient privacy compared to a typical bunk bed at a hostel.

Very nice & clean! Had no problems

Good place for a short stay. Comfortable beds. Wrong bunk assignment and the breakfast is halfassed (cereals but no milk or juice).

My biggest problem was the cleanliness. The staff cleaned a few times while I was there, but it was very superficial. So it's mostly okay, but it could be so much better! The rooms also get quite hot in the summer, although there is air-conditioning, but not enough to keep the rooms cool. Also, be aware that this is a real hostel, more old-school, so you don't have a lot of privacy. The newer hostels often have curtains around the bed or pods, but here I just had a normal bunk bed. This isn't necessarily something negative imo, but keep that in mind.

This place is all about expectations. This is a hostel, with many guests coming and going. Rates are low, so don’t expect a hotel level experience. This is a good quality hostel. If the location is convenient, and you have a limited budget, this is a good option. But this is not a vacation/ relaxation spot. It is a bed for a good price. The Wi-Fi is good, and a big bonus. Things are generally clean, but not spotless by any means. But the staff are pleasant, and are clearly working hard to keep up with the constant turnover of guests. They could use a few more staff to help with cleaning, but I’m sure that keeping rates low for guests prevents hiring more staff. The other guests were respectful and pleasant. I stayed in a mixed dorm as a woman, and as far as I could tell, it was mostly men there. However I felt safe. However not all the bunks were full. If the room had been completely full I think it would have been intimidating with so many men. And smelly. It was the height of summer during my stay and too hot to sleep with the curtain closed at night. There is a female room, but that was booked when I reserved my bunk. Breakfast is cereal and fruit. And coffee. The location is convenient. Check in and check out were simple. And the rates are low. I was staying on the same block as the job I had for the week, so it was perfect. There is an excellent coffee shop with Wi-Fi just around the corner.

I booked this place specifically because it stated clearly that check-in was available until 2AM. I tried calling them at 11PM to confirm my arrival—no answer. When I arrived around 12:40AM, I rang the doorbell multiple times and called again several times—still no response at all. I ended up standing outside in the dark for almost 20 minutes, completely alone, with no way to get in or contact anyone. In the end, I had to leave and find another place to stay in the middle of the night, which was stressful, unsafe, and incredibly frustrating. If you’re not actually going to provide late check-in service, then don’t advertise it. This was a huge inconvenience and completely unacceptable. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for reliability or basic communication.

Cramped, run-down hostel in an area with a lot of homeless people. Hostel looks clean in photos but it's not. Dirty common areas and showers (the place needs deep cleaning). Comfortable but smelly sofas. Wifi was okay. Mixed dorm with the curtains has dirty beds & isn't "premium" as advertised. Breakfast was sugary cereal and apples. Stephanie was helpful & pleasant for the most part, but I received poor service from the Asian guy who also works there.

People are respectful of privacy and are welcoming. The breakfast was very appreciated, the lounge was relaxing as one plans for their day, and felt safe during my stay not just at the hotel, but in LA in general. Good amount of amenities and showers were very nice.

Parking was difficult. First time at a hostel in my life. The floors were creaky, and the only way to get in is through stairs, so be prepared to climb. No elevator. It was really cute and the employee was nice. The thing I would want them to really work on is cleanliness. The sheets and pillow I slept in had stains and was a little dirty with whoever was sleeping’s hair. The bathrooms should have been cleaned more often. Also it smelled really musty and I had a hard time falling asleep because of the smell. I also wish they split it based on gender identity versus mixing it or have an option for separate because I don’t like sleeping in the same room as guys or sharing the same bathroom because I think guys are gross

Pros-Staff/service were exceptional, the bedding and sheets were clean and very comfortable, and I loved the check in process. Easy quick and self check in was definitely my favorite. It was very peaceful at night time and there was music playing here and there. Cons-Zero events/gathering, cost was SUPER expensive compared to other hostels with more amenities, it wasn’t close to the city, Breakfast was appreciated but the hostel didn’t have vegan milk for the cereal (limited breakfast), I stayed in the flamingo room and the girls that stayed in my room were allowed, and there was a problem with the door knob during the day, multiple people were sick throughout my stay which made it feel unsafe, especially since I’m traveling full-time. All in all, it was a great place to sleep for one or two nights, but not for a whole week. I would have loved to meet travelers from across the world, but it was mainly young students living there permanently that worked there.

The beds are extremely loud and you’ll hear the person above/under you move everytime. Windows cant be completely closed or darkened so the traffic noise will be there and light will wake you up. Staff was friendly and took care of my luggage even tho I survived earlier. Plenty of bathrooms so that there are barely any waiting times. Nice people staying there. The location is okay. You can’t walk anywhere by feet under an hour but bus/train are within 10/15 minutes walk

As a physician, I never thought of staying in hostels. But I am on me journey. I want to spend my remains tire traveling and treating patients. I walked into the STEADY, tge clean white linen, hard wood floors, the interior design made like an upscale exclusive party with jazz, R&B,Ed Shearen softly in the background. Very nice staff. Felt like Home. The windows R beautiful as the Sun smiles at you. Spiritually The steady is a bit of compassion here on earth. I Dr. Nik HURT HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE STEADY WITHOUT RESERVATION😎🎻💜✅☺️

Bring earplugs - the hostel is a bit noisy, and some rooms (like the pods) face the road and have windows that stay open. Cleanliness is a bit of an issue as there are only three bathrooms for the hostel (one with a set of three shower stalls). The floor in the pod room was a bit dirty and not cleaned regularly during my stay. Tip - the hostel is a convenient 10-15 minute walk from two red line stations. However, the walk to/from the Vermont/Santa Monica station is far more pleasant and less sketchy than Vermont/Beverly, so I recommend using that station (especially at night).

Great, clean rooms and friendly staff. Each room has a lock on the door, unfortunately they don't encourage guests to close the door behind them when leaving their rooms, which would decrease the chance of things getting stolen
