Great quaint romantic spot in WeHo

I liked everything about the hotel!! Excellent hotel in a great area!!
- 4/5
Pleasant staff. Slightly walkable location to some museums and shopping. Trader Joe’s around the corner. Valet seems useless to drive 6 feet from car drop off to the parking spot. Wasn’t sure if the restaurant was ever open during our stay. Bathroom fan didn’t work so our room got very stuffy with shower humidity. The fridge was smelly/dirty with prior guests takeout leak. Room a/c fan was loud and came off and on throughout the night. Ok stay for 1-2 nights.

I love this hotel, and have stayed there several times. I love the location, right across the street from the Farmer’s Market and the Grove. Easy to walk over to get a bite to eat, or a quick coffee in the morning. Rooms are comfortable and well maintained. Great location!
- 5/5
I actually booked this for my dad who was coming in for my graduation. He really loved the hotel and the proximity to The Grove and his new favorite grocery store, Erewhon. Highly recommend based on location to local tourism activities and ease.
- 5/5
Dependable and solid. Great stay.
- 4.5/5
Excellent location, right across from the Grove. Walkable to many nice restaurants and shops. The courtyard of the hotel is beautiful and was such a nice place to work from each morning. It was a bonus that there was free tea and coffee too! The room itself was also beautiful and they even accommodated my dog who was traveling with us, providing a dog bed, bowl, and treats. The bed was comfortable and I liked the little sitting area too. The stylistic touches also made it a fun space. Really loved everything about the room! The only thing that I didn't like was paying for parking, although I learned that in LA this is pretty standard.
- 3.5/5
Amazing location Room wasn’t serviced and felt a little run down
- 5/5
I chose this hotel because of the reasonable price and excellent location. It was worth it to me to valet the car and be able to walk or uber to certain appointments, restaurants, and shopping. The room was clean and quiet. The ac was good and had lots of options. The water pressure was fantastic and I loved taking a shower every morning. Staff was super helpful, taking my luggage to the room (I drove so I overpacked), getting the car and cleaning. Wi-Fi good as well.
- 5/5
We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip to LA! All the staff went above and beyond. We loved the way the rooms were decorated and the beds were so, so comfortable after a long day walking and taking all the things in! Very central to so many things but loved going right across the street to the farmers market each day for breakfast or lunch! Thank you for making our stay wonderful at Short Stories!!
- 4/5
The outdoor space was wonderful and the happy hour offerings and prices. My room was quiet and comfortable. Big shower. It was unclear what the parking situation and fees were. There were (in my opinion) too high- being $100 (including taxes) for 2 nights.

Easy checkin, clean room and great location for site seeing. Also many close nice places to eat. The staff was friendly and helpful. Beds not comfortable they sagged and a good night's sleep was hard to get. All kinds of alcohol in bottles in the room. I have not seen this in rooms for many years. Parking fee of 45 per day additional charge. This seems excessive.

It was a great stay. We were there for some procedures at Cedars Hospital. We had to add a night and the hotel staff was very accommodating. The space is very nice and clean. The location is within walking distance of so much. We are elderly and do not like to drive in the big city and it made it nice for my partner while I was having the procedure done. We were there 4 nights.
- 5/5
We absolutely loved our stay at Short Stories and will 100% recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay in LA. The location was incredible, lots of places to eat and things to do nearby, but it’s the hotel that really made the trip. Staff was so kind and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel itself was adorable! Pool was great, coffee was so good, and everything looked like it popped out of Alice in Wonderland. We will definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
I don’t know what to expect coming into the hotel, but it definitely exceeded my expectations! Very clean and smells lovely. The staff are very friendly and the room service is very fast. Would come again 100%
- 3/5
For the price we paid, hotel was mid. Staff checking us in were rude and unwelcoming. No acknowledgement for several minutes, even to say we'll be with you shortly. Room wasn't anything special. Did like the location near the farmers market but that was the only upsell. Wouldn't stay here again.

One of the best hotels I've stayed at in a long time.

We enjoyed our stay at Short Stories Hotel. The location was across the street from the Farmers Market and The Grove. The valet parking was easy the attendents were very helpful. Our room was clean and spacious. I loved the atrium with the plants and flowers. The hotel was a great place to stay.
- 5/5
Across the street from the best meal ever and awesome dining options all around. Clean however when commercial grade chemical products are used that have a strong odor I have a hard time wanting to return. Pls find something or sustainable. Parking and parking staff were a highlight here. The court yard was very pretty and a life place to sit And work.
- 5/5
The hotel's location is great. The Grove and Farmers Market are right across the street. Good restaurants and several museums are within walking distance. For my needs, it was perfect. The room was exceptionally clean and the bed and other furnishings were comfortable; loved the shower. Staff were pleasant; housekeeping was consistent and they tidied the room daily without my having to request service. For the price of the stay, which is hefty (to me), in-room coffee and tea service would have been appreciated. Complimentary coffee and tea are offered each morning in the outdoor courtyard.
- 4/5
Adorable property, just right for a one-night stay for an event close to the Grove. Not a lot of amenities on property but they do offer complimentary tea and coffee in the morning.

Convenient location. When we came in I found a dark smear on the toilet seat which I was anle to clean off myself. I told the front desk and they sent someone to clean it but then I had already cleaned it. Made me wonder how well they prepared the room. A clean toilet is an absolute must.

I love staying at Short Stories - hands down my favorite LA hotel due to the cleanliness, vibe, friendly staff and proximity to great points of interest - the Grove, Beverly Hills, etc. Highly recommend!

Short stay at Short Stories (2 nights). Great location across from the Farmers Market and the Grove. Nearby buses gave easy access to the museums and the tourist run near the Chinese Theatre. Hotel courtyard is very charming and atmospheric.

The staff was attentive and always helpful. Bags were stored after check-out with no problems. Will book again when in the area.

It's just loud..If you can't relax or sleep due to constant street and hotel 🛏️ noise? What's the point, and this place isn't cheap for what it is. I also don't need 100$ bottles of liquor in my mini bar. Beer and soda would have been nice, but they go full bougie.
- 4/5
The restaurant food is subperb the hotel is quaint private easy access and comfortable but again hotels.com false advertises late check out and upgrades to gold members because all the LA trips, San Diego and LV trips the past few months and others previously not once have those options been available!!!
- 5/5
Very enjoyable boutique Hollywood hotel in a great walking neighborhood! Yes, there is "parking on site," WHICH IS $45 BUCKS A NIGHT!!! Booking.com MUST CHANGE THAT POLICY and start forcing hotels to LIST THEIR PARKING FEES ON THE DESCRIPTION!!!!
- 5/5
So impressed with the housekeeper staff! We had clean towels 2x a day. We have found our favorite hotel in LA!
- 3/5
It's clean and the location is really good But no real amenities and only tea and coffee in the morning. The water for tea was luke warm and the milk was off. I went to trader joes close by and grabbed some juice and on the drive home grabbed some caffeine! okay for a quick overnight in LA, if you are staying any longer I would get a different place.
- 5/5
We were thrilled with our stay! Room was great, courtyard adorable, friendly staff, perfect location in LA for our trip. We will definitely be back!

Loved the spacious room, king bed, walk in rain shower, lovely public areas. The location - across from the Grove outdoor mall and the farmers market - can’t be beat. Very walkable to good cafes, restaurants, Hollywood improv. Easy to get around by bus too, which we did a few times. Pro tip: ask for a coffee maker to be delivered to your room! Overall the hotel was great. The barn door style for the bathroom was not very private for our family. And the restaurant was closed during our stay, though we were not aware that would be the case. Great to have a quiet oasis with personality.

The presence of a pool is misleading. Small and literally zero pool deck around it. Also wedged in between three buildings and a giant window to the lobby. Literally a fishbowl with no where to relax in the sun. LA is known for the sunshine. Dealbreaker. Otherwise cute-ish hotel. Old.
- 4/5
location, room and general hotel services are fine. Location of room was right next to the lift so didnt have alot of privacy- had to keep the blinds drawn the entire stay.
- 5/5
It was great, only thing we weren’t happy with was check in time. (Well after check in time our room was not fully ready yet) but everything else was great
- 4/5
The best breakfast is just the next door to the left, Maison Amour. Healthy options, awesome coffee, smoothies, sandwiches. The hosted is a wonderful soul. The hotel, is a bit old but perfectly kept. Atmosphere is LA cute. Lots of plants. The only thing is that their restaurant and bar are closed. But they offer great coffee in the morning.

There was a gentleman at the front desk, who was very nice. There was a woman who was not at all friendly or nice. I didn’t receive a welcome drink. I had to clean some parts of the room. I particular room was very noisy and this is the third time I’ve stayed and where the guests have been very loud.

We had a great experience with Short Stories Hotel. The rooms were larger than most standard hotels, which made the stay especially comfortable. The location can’t be beat — right across the street from The Farmers Market and The Grove, with tons of restaurants and Trader Joe's within walking distance. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming. I booked it for my cousins visiting from out of town, and they absolutely loved it. Would definitely recommend!

The hotel is so quaint and in a great location to explore the area. Restaurant on site has a nice selection of options. Room was clean and well appointed. It does have a mini bar with snacks and drinks, including full size bottles. I was charged at check out for items I did not consume or even move but they assured me the charge would be removed. Only downside is noise in the area. We heard street noise but also just in the areas outside our room. Heavy doors and night owls made for some wake ups overnight. All in all, very happy with the hotel. The gentleman at valet was so kind and accommodating too.

This is my second stay at Short Stories (third if you count staying there when it was The Farmer's Daughter), and I've always enjoyed the experience. Rooms are clean and homey, with an artsy, hip vibe. It's really more of a "motel" than a hotel with outdoor walkways leading to the rooms. Staff is friendly and helpful, and there's a good restaurant on the premises. My favorite part is the location - not only near my daughter's apartment, but right across the street from the Farmer's Market at the Grove mall, so there's easy access to food, shopping, movies and more. Plus, it's a short walk to a CVS, Citibank, and many of LA's most popular museums: the Motion Picture Museum, MOCA and the Petersen Car Museum which is amazing. And the rates are relatively reasonable. Highly recommend Short Stories!

Lovely decor with a calm boutique feel. A stellar location with The Grove literally across the road and everything was very clean with comfortable beds and nice linens. Location was a perfect base for exploring LA and it felt safe at all times. The Valet parking felt quite expensive, however it is LA and it was clear when we booked so I can't grizzle too much.

Great location just opposite the Farmers Markets and it was a nice touch being offered a sparkling water or prosecco on arrival. It was also good to have access to chilled water in the hotel foyer. There were 3 of us staying in a two queen bed room but towels and robes were only provided for 2 people. We had to ask several times before extra towels were provided. Rooms are comfortable but we were in a block of rooms that was across the car park from the main hotel and the noise from the main road was pretty loud. We had a drink at the hotel bar and the staff member at the bar was not at all welcoming.

Location. Good storage in bathroom Poor lighting. Walk through outdoor, uncovered courtyard to room. Terrible coffee. Uncomfortable seating in room. So many books and objects in the room on the tables that there was no place to put our stuff. Looked nice but wasn’t functional.

Staff friendly and had good suggestions. Liked unique round closet and stacks of books in room. Outside signage needs better lighting at night. Beautiful decor in lobby and restaurant.

The staff is welcoming and helpful. This location is very convenient to all West Hollywood has to offer. The hotel is unique with an enticing outdoor garden seating. I don’t hesitate to recommend this hotel for your next stay.

Short Stories is a gem. Fantastic location across the street from Farmer's Market and The Grove and within comfortable walking distance to museums in the Miracle Mile area. Good food and nice SoCal ambiance in the hotel bar/restaurant. Friendly staff and nice rooms. I would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely loved our stay at Short Stories hotel. The room was spacious, homey and clean. The housekeeping staff were incredible and provided a turn down service as well as the morning housekeeping. It’s a very central location and super convenient being right across from the Grove and Farmers markets. We really enjoyed our stay here

Great location and fun little hotel!
- 5/5
Nice staff, clean and attractive property. But the location was my favorite part.
- 4/5
Very cute little hotel across the street from the Farmer's Market and The Grove. We walked to the LACMA, Peterson, Academy of Motion Pictures, and La Brea Tar Pits. I wish there were breakfast and lunch options. The restaurant was open air and unusable when it rained, which it did. A microwave in the room would have been appreciated.
- 5/5
Clean room, helpful staff, and good restaurant. Love the courtyard.
- 5/5
This hotel was beautiful! The staff were so friendly, and the hotel was super clean, with a lot of character. The location was perfect, while only being a short walk across the street from The Grove. We would definitely stay here again:)
- 4/5
Enjoyed everything. Unfortunately, many of the amenities are outside: the courtyard, the swimming pool. It poured throughout our stay so we weren’t able to take advantage of them.
- 5/5
Great use of space! Home away from home
- 5/5
Quant hotel right across Farmer’s Market and The Grove and in walking distance from Trader Joe’s and restaurants. The room was very clean and nicely decorated, bathroom spacious, quiet and bed was super comfortable.
- 5/5
What a CUTE hotel. It's a little bit hidden so unless you know it's there you'd walk right past it. Nestled in the city, it's clean and welcoming. Our room was furnished with a bunch of interesting books. They have snacks and such too for a cost which are pricey (we didn't divulge in these). The hotel itself was very quiet and there's a little pool in the center.
- 1/5
There was mosquitoes in my Junior Suite King room and the AC wasn’t working, so I had to stay in a regular King room. But my rate wasn’t updated to reflect the downgrade.
- 3/5
Door to the suite didnt fit properly. There is a visible gap at the bottom the allows in dirt, noise and pests.
- 5/5
Kristina made my entire stay - I’ve never had such a personable, wonderful encounter at a hotel check in but her gracious hospitality (and sense of humor) absolutely won me over. Also the food was amazing. Thank you so much.

Great Trip, Great Stay, Great Location! Highly Recommend.
- 5/5
Nice courtyard!
- 2/5
Two good things: good central location, friendly staff. Problems: the walkway between the main lobby and the building where the rooms are is extremely slippery when it’s wet outside. It rained most of the time we were there and so we spent most of the time trying not to slip when we walked to or from our room. There was a huge cockroach in the bathroom that we had to have removed. The water they provide to drink is in a reusable glass vase with a cork top that looks like it’s moldy. There was half a roll of toilet paper provided and no extras. The remote control to the TV didn’t work and we had to call and ask for more batteries. There is nowhere to put your luggage, no luggage rack. You have to just lay it on the floor. There is no chair to sit in, I guess you can sit on the bed. But when you sit on the bed, the mattress is gonna slide off of the bed platform. The bed platforms have sharp corners, which will give you bruises on your shin every time you walk by.
- 5/5
Super cute and unique hotel! The location is incredible and so close to so many things! The staff were lovely! The hotel was lovely, I loved sitting in the courtyard to have lunch. It’s a moment of peace in busy city! The room was large, clean with a full stock bar! Full of interesting books! It was lovely!
- 5/5
Cute boutique hotel. Great location
- 5/5
An immaculate hotel from start to finish the attention to detail was everything
- 3/5
So the room is clean and nice but there was a LOUD speaker for an event going for hours downstairs and then yelling, music, and car alarms in the street past 3AM. The room felt like a motel (opened to the outside). All of this would have been fine but it was so expensive and the parking was $45/day. A little bit of a disappointment.
- 5/5
I love how the hotel was decorated. Everything was very clean. Staff was friendly. The location is perfect and walking distance to many places I wanted to visit. Many great food spots around.
- 3/5
It’s all fine, but not special. Rooms are cramped and the toilet/shower is part of the room with a sliding door (no lock and large gaps), so don’t expect privacy. It’s a great location though
- 5/5
Place was clean, very easy to get around
- 5/5
Very friendly staff, quick check-in. Thanks to Julia, Bella and Zack our stay was enjoyable! Room was very clean and serviced daily. Highly recommend the restaurant for its cool menu, the food is delicious and they should open daily. We ate there every day except for Mondays when it’s closed! Many thanks to Nima who already knew our order by heart haha, was friendly and knowledgeable and to Nicole for great service and hospitality. We will definitely stay at The Short Stories Hotel again. If you want to be right across from the Farmer’s Market at The Grove, this is the hotel to book! Great job everyone and keep up the good work! Sandra and Dario

Yes!
- 5/5
Loved this hotel! Gorgeous environs, and great bonus amenities including a welcome drink of either sparkling water or prosecco, two free cocktails at the bar ($16 each), and a $10 food credit at their restaurant (1 per stay). Loved the heated pool, which was the perfect temperature, and had towels at each chaise lounge and a convenient poolside bathroom. Loved the free coffee in the mornings and the lemon or cucumber water in the lobby all day. The food at the restaurant was spectacular, and bonus points for having an NA cocktail on the menu. Plus it was right across the street from the amazing Original Farmer’s Market, and within walking distance (less than 15 minutes) of Sidecar Donuts, Pho Saigon Pearl, and the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. Would stay again!
- 5/5
We like the location because it is so close to the Farmer's Market and museum row.
- 5/5
Clean room, very nice staff
- 5/5
Very walkable and safe area. We walked 20 minutes to Bacio di Latte and felt fine doing so. Lots of upscale dining nearby as well. Rooms are very cute with a seating area and lots of books. A ton of personality here.
- 5/5
Very friendly and helpful staff. Great service! Also the hotel is beautiful and located within walking distance of attractions such as the Grove.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel, clean room and walkable area with lots of dining options.
- 4/5
The walls are thin; I can hear the neighbors talking. Hallways and rooms are not carpeted so noise travels very easily. The hotel does provide complementary earplugs. It smells like cigarette smoke in the bathroom which I think was coming through the venfs. Overall, besides those cons it is really nice place to stay.
- 5/5
I love this unique hotel. It was
- 5/5
We have stayed at this hotel since 2009. We love it. Great staff. Close to shopping, dining and our son.
- 4/5
Overall good hotel. My room had a hallway light right out front of it that spilled into my room was so it wasn’t possible to get fully pitch black. But otherwise a nice hotel
- 5/5
Wonderful location and nice, stylish rooms. Check-in was friendly and helpful. Great housekeeping. Carafe of water in the room was appreciated. Valet staff was great, particularly the person working in the mornings. I wish we were able to recycle bottles. I was a bit disappointed that I wasn't able to extend my check-out by a half-hour. I know that this is never guaranteed or owed, but the person at the front desk was a bit dismissive about it. It is also disappointing that the hotel is "cashless" -- this hurts housekeeping and valet when it comes to tips. Otherwise, though, a great stay.
- 4/5
Thanks
- 5/5
Rooms were so spacious clean and very well curated. The beds were so comfortable and the sheets were top notch. Restaurant and outdoor area is a vibe for sure. Highly recommend!
- 4/5
I liked the quiet and comfortable inner outdoor courtyard and the daily available coffee. Room was ample and somewhat basic, but comfortable with a large screen TV and couch and table, in a junior suite in the south building. The AC was adequate but disturbing as it switched on and off. Terrific location right next to the Grove - ideal location for everything I wanted, though would have to leave the property for breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff.
- 5/5
The location was great and it was clean
- 5/5
This property will be my #1 pick when I’m in this area of LA. The staff is kind, genuinely helpful and actively tries to make the customer experience as close to perfect as you can get. The charm is lovely and inviting. The room amenities are fantastic as well. Close to great food and shopping. Well done Short Stories!
- 5/5
The patio and bar were very inviting and the food and drinks were delicious.
- 4/5
The great, the staff was friendly. The room is comfortable and quiet. The restaurant has great food. A great coffee and donut place is within walking distance. The Farmers Market offers a wide variety of cuisine to eat. A great Thai place is also in walking distance.
- 5/5
Excellent staff, they’re all very friendly and helpful. Room was good, some minor plumbing issues but nothing substantially major to cause any problems during my stay. Bed is on the harder side if that’s something you’re interested in or concerned about. Overall, a convenient and comfortable stay for a week.
- 5/5
Clean and well presented room. Friendly Reception and Bar staff.
- 5/5
Unique and stylish hotel near Farmer’s Market. The patio is lovely, the rooms nicely decorated, even though for four people a little bit on the small side. The pool has good depth, but is also on the smaller side. The staff is absolutely lovely and accomodating.
- 5/5
Great stay, hotel was great. Everything at the hotel was well presented and very clean. The staff were friendly and treated us well. The hotel was well positioned for many activities LA has to offer. Property was in a safe location and we felt comfortable to walk around the streets surrounding the hotel.
- 5/5
The great Hotel near to Winsor Choza Pilates! That was a great recommendation from Saul Choza! I will be back in October!!!! Big thanks 😊
- 5/5
Great, fun and convenient.
- 4/5
Comfortable clean room! Loved all the plants and the outdoor areas! Refreshing mint & lime water always available! Loved being on the 3rd floor but next time will ask to be further from the elevator…
- 3/5
Really not very special and definitely overpriced. It’s absolutely not that there is anything wrong with it, so it’s definitely a safe choice. Just that nothing at all stood out either.
- 4/5
Our room was super clean and decorated beautifully. The cleaning staff checked on us twice during our stay, just to make sure we weren’t missing anything, as we didn’t want cleaning every day. Front desk staff was cordial, and the courtyard restaurant was nice. The area the hotel is in is quite busy, and it’s close to the farmer’s market, The Grove, and a Trader Joe’s (good for cheap water and snacks when heading out for the day). Unfortunately, the area is a bit scruffy and the hotel was noisy at night due to the restaurant in the courtyard as well as traffic. I’d stay at this hotel again, as the price was good and cleanliness is important to us.
- 5/5
Very cute boutique hotel and friendly staff. Loved the outdoor courtyard and the ambience of the room.
- 5/5
Lovely check in with glass of prosecco. Able to access room immediately even though we were early. Comfortable and quiet. We love this place!
- 2/5
The woman at check in was terrible.
- 4/5
Location is awesome. The grove and farmers market being across the road would awesome. Close to the Beverly centre. Hollywood tours pick up in at the front as well. Loved our stay here would stay here again
- 5/5
Stayed here for 1 night with my tween daughter. We both loved it-the room was darling, courtyard had the best vibe and couldn’t ask for a better location across from the Grove!
- 5/5
Conveniently located near The Grove. Walked to this beautiful mall every day. Rooms were small. Not sure if $10 towards restaurant was VIP amenity. Hotel has restaurant and bar. Lovely decorated patio for lounging around. I’d consider staying here again.
- 5/5
Convenient, cool & centrally located.
- 5/5
Best location
- 5/5
Fabulous property in a central location - right across from The Grove and close to the Petersen Automotive Museum. Great service, very comfortable, quiet and well appointed rooms, good food and convenient valet parking! Perfect find and we’d go back!
- 5/5
We just found our new go-to spot when visiting L.A.! The Short Story Hotel near Beverly Grove is in an ideal location—so much better than downtown or other parts of the city we’ve stayed in before. It’s central to all the fun things we wanted to do, with tons of great restaurants nearby and plenty that’s walkable. It’s also right near Erewhon, if you’re craving an extremely expensive smoothie! Highly recommend this place—can’t go wrong staying here.
- 5/5
Safe and cute with great proximity to farmer’s market
- 5/5
Cute hotel and great amenities
- 5/5
Great location! Wonderful boutique hotel.
- 5/5
I have no complaints, love the location, it’s quiet, and will def be back
- 5/5
Perfect for what I needed! Would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Very cool vintage property. Front desk staff not amazing. Restaurant & service excellent. Valet staff excellent. Pool is for looks.
- 5/5
Short stories is a delightful oasis. Great location, courtyard, and service.
- 5/5
Walking distance to the Grove, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, etc. Beautiful books in every room!
- 3/5
3 stars because the coffee service is really bad. Literally a pump pot with either regular milk or plant-based milk. No half and half, which is a 100% staple in every restaurant, cafe, diner, and gas station in the USA. So I had my choice of buying my own carton or having to go out for coffee every morning, which was a real bummer. Please fix this very easy thing. The prices warrant a decent coffee service in the morning.
- 4/5
Great hotel with beautiful lobby and pool. Customer service was great and in a great area very close to farmers market and the grove. Only downside was the room cleaning. Found stains on some of the bedding and throughout the stay, the housekeeping was getting less thorough. Other than that, everything was great! Would recommend
- 4/5
Elegant and understated design language.
- 5/5
Pulled in my car into the valet and they took care of me right away. I had a lot of baggage and they carried it in for me to check into the hotel. The rooms were updated. Reminded me of a modern French hotel - parquet floors, tarazo floors in the bath area. Hidden gem
- 5/5
My go-to hotel when staying in the area! Everything is clean and the design was very well thought out and luxurious.
- 5/5
Stayed here many times and always come back. Convenience and location.
- 4/5
Overall, the hotel is stylish and well-located, but transparency is important.
- 4/5
Very cute boutique hotel. Did a quick stay and the design is amazing. Details are thoroughly thought through. The bed had the softest sheets I have been in. They should sell them to guests.
- 5/5
Great boutique hotel in the Fairfax area. Wonderful staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Adorable bright and happy rooms. The only problem was that the parking was 49.99 per day. That was kind of unbelievable. Other than that it was fantastic!
- 5/5
Location
- 5/5
Made our honeymoon extra special even just while staying there for a couple of nights before flying to Hawaii.
- 5/5
The staff are always friendly and the hotel is centrally located with grocery stores and a shopping center near by. Beverly Hills a few minutes away and downtown Los Angeles about 30 minutes away.
- 5/5
My stay was so Wonderful. Will definitely stay here again when I return. The bar tender Jeremy was awesome and made the best drinks. He was so knowledgeable about brands and flavor profiles. The property was so special I loved the beautiful trees and boutique feel. The music was also nice and relaxing. Pool was temperature controlled which was a pleasant surprise. They cookies one day when I came in and they have fusion water daily which was refreshing. I was also impressed by the minibar! The best I have seen. I can’t say enough and it’s also across from the grove and walking distance from some cool clubs if you wanna have drinks and some dancing. Would highly recommend.
- 5/5
Very nice upgrades for my husband’s birthday and Father’s Day celebration
- 5/5
Such a lovely little hotel in the tradition of roadside motels. The courtyard is lovely and a wonderful place to work during the day. We stayed in the South Stories building and the room was spacious and had nice decor and lighting with dimmers. Turndown service and quick cleaning turnaround. Surprisingly quiet and a closed parking lot for security. Will definitely be back!
- 4/5
Great stay. Excellent location, no issues.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff, nice location and comfortable beds.
- 5/5
Used to be The Farmers Daughter. Nice remake. I like the service and the vibe. Valet is crazy expensive. Also they are cashless, which is generally fine. However, the only way to tip the cleaners is … cash? For whatever reason, I find this to be offensive. Why do the cleaning staff have to hope that each guest has cash on them?
- 5/5
Location is ideal for those not renting a car. Farmer’s market and the Grove shopping center within walking distance, so is Starbucks for breakfast. Several museums (Motion Pictures, Automobile, County Art, and La Brea tar pit) in the area. Bus to Hollywood or Santa Monica Piers is very inexpensive with Tap card.
- 5/5
What a perfect spot for a quick trip! The rooms are clean and well decorated, staff are lovely and the location is just a short walk to the Fairfax Farmers market where you find the a great selection of restaurants and market foods. Also walking distance to the Grove if you like outdoor malls. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
- 5/5
It is a quiet and cozy hotel where you can rest from the busy LA streets
- 5/5
We had such a lovely experience and the staff were very nice. We also had the bus stop and the grove right in front of our stay ! We felt safe around the area as well !
- 5/5
Stayed for 6 nights. Great room, large size and very clean. Huge bed and very comfortable. As with 09% of places I’ve stayed the road traffic can be heard, ear plugs are provided. This didn’t cause any issue.
- 4/5
Nice for LA, great for one night but not blown away
- 2/5
Great location and very cute but the we selected it for the amenities and all - restaurant, pool and bar were all closed the entire stay for a private party. There was no compensation or discounted rates for the loss of amenities and we were very disappointed.
- 4/5
Cute, fun little boutique hotel with nice decor. Came with teen daughter for the close proximity to The Grove. Enjoyed the complimentary coffee in the pretty courtyard each morning. Only downside was the hvac in the room was super loud even on fan mode.
- 5/5
Wonderful time
- 5/5
Fabulous and near farmers market!
- 5/5
Great hotel, very comfortable bed
- 5/5
Really nice quiet hotel opposite the farmers market and the famous Grove shopping centre. Great location! Hotel has a cool motel vibe and arty rooms.
- 5/5
Great service from Nadeev, hotel , Zac, Kristina, Christina, Sheree and housekeeping. Wonderful large room with great restaurant and courtyard.
- 5/5
Beautiful rooms. Comfortable beds. Very safe.
- 5/5
Great location, great property. Many amenities and close to awesome shopping and food options from around the world!
- 5/5
Comfortable, convenient and charming.
- 4/5
Again I will stress the cleanliness which was EXCELLENT!
- 5/5
The staff is always so helpful and kind
- 5/5
Great stay here. Love this neighborhood
- 5/5
Really clean, trendy and in great location. Love the staff they are super friendly! The courtyard is absolutely dreamy. Would stay here again if prices don’t go up!
- 5/5
Valet was easy although $45 a day, but the valet staff was very friendly. The room was large and very cute. Comfortable bed, nice little heated pool. bar with a happy hour.
- 5/5
Really great boutique hotel, loved the pool and patio and ice waters and coffee
- 5/5
This is a classic CA hotel, great room, great service. Thank you for the umbrella and I am so sorry I forgot to return it!
- 5/5
Tres joli hitel bien rénové. Le patio est tres beau et bien arrangé. Il est difficile de croire que l'on se trouve sur une grosse avenue. La chambre est spacieuse et tres propre.
- 5/5
Such a fantastic hotel! We stayed for 4 days and fell in love with the place. The unique style was exactly what I was looking for to make our stay fun. The courtyard was the cutest! So nice to sit out there and enjoy the ambience. Even the restaurant was so cozy and the staff was so friendly! The bed was a bit too firm, but that's just my personal preference. The location was primo, too; close to do many great places all in short walking distance. Overall we LOVED our stay and absolutely will stay again in the future!
- 5/5
Very friendly staff! Very clean property.
- 5/5
A lovely hotel!
- 4/5
Local excelente, muitas facilidades na região. Mas o quarto tem alguns problemas. A torneira da pia tem pouquíssima água. E a TV funciona muito mal.
- 4/5
I loved how convenient and clean the property was. The location is perfect because it’s next to everything you would need restaurants, convenience stores, coffee shops. Only complaint I would have was that the bathroom door was not a door that fully closed. It’s a barnyard sliding door.
- 5/5
Easily walk to the Grove and Farmers Market. I read some reviews about noise...we did not have that experience...nice stay, everything was easy, no stress experience...the SoCal way.
- 5/5
great location, friendly staff and the rooms were clean:)
- 4/5
The front desk staff was pretty apathetic. The bartender and waiters were friendly and attentive. Nice location across the street from the Grove and The farmers market. We rented a car an in and out with the valet was quick and convenient.
- 5/5
Great place, friendly home feel. Great bar/restaurant
- 5/5
Good
- 3/5
The four days we stay there they only did the beds, but never through away the trash or clean the room. I didn't received nothing as a VIP
- 4/5
Great location!
- 4/5
Great hotel! Being right next to the Grove is the best and the hotel is beautiful. And I absolutely loved the bed - it was so comfortable, I wanted to take it home. Totally will stay again.
- 5/5
This place had so much personality. Beautiful courtyard, and everything was well maintained, well themed.
- 3/5
Short Stories is just a revamped Motel, with cute rooms. I'm not very happy about my stay here having to listen continuously to the people above me, loud plumbing from neighbors, and valet parking cars right outside my door. None of this is fixable by the hotel staff because it's a 60s motel trying to be something it is not. There's no privacy. If I knew I was going to be staying in a revamped motor lodge, where you can hear everything and everybody can hear you, I would have stayed somewhere else, and I recommend you do, especially for the price. If you don't care about noise, the rooms, bed, and amenities are on par. Again, this is a MOTOR LODGE, not a HOTEL.
