Reviews
The Miyako Hotel in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles is highly praised for its excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, cleanliness, and comfortable rooms. However, some guests have expressed concerns about the expensive parking, lack of some amenities, and occasional issues with the air conditioning and Wi-Fi.
- Excellent location in Little Tokyo, close to restaurants, shopping, and public transportation
- Friendly, courteous, and helpful staff
- Expensive parking
- Lack of some amenities in rooms (e.g., complimentary water, hair dryer)

The hotel has very nice facilities and its location is certainly a strong point, since it is [barely] within walking distance of the Walt Disney Concert Hall (it takes you 20 minutes to walk there), and The Broad. On good weather evenings, having a short stroll around Little Tokyo is also quite enjoyable. Lots of food opportunities around! Being an European, I can never understand why such a costly accommodation price does not include breakfast...

Room was dirty. Shower head growing mold. Tub didn’t drain. $50 for parking per night. Sink didn’t look wiped down. Rented to rooms neither were very good. Asked to be side by side. Called in advance to confirm. They did not put us side by side.

I booked this hotel thinking it would be convenient for watching Dodgers games. For a Japanese traveler, it was very handy being close to Japanese Village and having many Japanese restaurants nearby. The staff were friendly, and the room was very clean and comfortable.

This is an excellent location for Dodger fans. You can schedule roundtrip transportation in advance to the Dodger game from Starline tours. Pickup and dropoff is right in front of the hotel. There are so many restaurants near the hotel and Dodger fan gear shops all within walking distance. You will feel like your in Japan. The one downside to staying here is the hot water. It seemed like the hot water tends to run out on Dodger game days after the fans returned back from the game. Other than that, or stay was enjoyable.

Slept very well in a comfy bed with crisp linen. A Japanese bidet toilet is always a plus! Spacious comfortable simple decorated room. I appreciated the bottled water which not every hotel provides. Next door to Little Tokyo Metro and the Japanese Plaza with all its ships, cafes and restaurants. This safe area is only a few blocks away from more dangerous streets. I noted the hotel has armed security guards! You just need to be wary at night time not to stray too far away from Little Tokyo

Everything was excellent, except they don't give you a microwave. Definitely fix that, or at least make one available to bring to your room if asked. Having to go downstairs to make my breakfast and other meals was not helpful. Everything else was awesome. Nice place.

I liked the hotel overall I checked out in the morning and returned the key at the lobby, later I tried to buy water from the lobby store, but it was locked. I told the lobby staff that I wanted to buy water, but he said the store was locked. I was disappointed because he did not try to unlock it or help in any way.

This place was beyond our expectations! They bellman who helped us with our bags, recommended the best Ramen place in LA! The room was clean, quiet and comfortable; plus the bidet was an unexpected surprise! And to top it all off, the LOCATION!!!! We were in the ❤️ of little Toyko... What else can we say but we WILL be staying here again!

Miyako was located right in Little Tokyo and made exploring that area so easy! It is surrounded by delicious places to eat, including an amazing (and very popular) café inside the lobby. The elevators operate by hotel key, so we loved the added security. The rooms were very clean and beds/pillows were so comfortable we had zero issues sleeping. Staff was very friendly and allowed us to check in about 30-45 minutes early without issue. We would definitely stay here again! The only minor complaint we would even think of is that there is not a full length mirror inside the superior king room. The only mirror is located above the sink in the bathroom. Again, definitely not a deal breaker but did kind of shock us!

From arrival the property was beautiful on the inside and staff was exceptional. Parking was a bit confusing but we decided to use valet and were pleased with the service. The room was spacious and accomodating for traveling with several suitcases and baby gear. The staff again was very helpful in ensuring we had a pack n play and assistance with everything along the way. Location was great for good food, shopping and nightlife. We would definitely book again in the future if in LA.

Location was great. Especially convenient to the metro Felt dated and tired. It was clean and not worn, but the decor was early 2000s and the room lighting was poor. A dark room, despite a big window, made darker by dark charcoal rug and brown and beige furniture. Also, WiFi was terrible
- 5/5
Clean room, amazing staff.

Just a great hotel in a (mostly) great location. The staff were great, as is the proximity to Union Station and very close proximity to A and E trains. Having all of Little Tokyo right outside your door is a blessing and a curse for all of the available food and shopping. I always seem to find myself coming to Little Tokyo, so with this most recent trip I figured: why not just stay here?

The room and hotel were clean. The location was PERFECT for exploring Little Tokyo. I valet parked my vehicle overnight and had no problems with that. Suggested improvements: there was a constant air noise coming from the furnace. It made me uncomfortable because even with the AC/heater turned off, it was still making the noise. The smoke detectors only say "smoke" and not "carbon monoxide" and I would have felt more comfortable if a carbon monoxide detector was visibly present, especially in light of the noise from the furnace. They offered me another room, but that furnace made the same noise. I ended up sleeping with the window cracked open, which led to me being woken up by street racers at 1:30am.

This hotel has an unreasonable smoking policy even if you don’t smoke on the premises. Was charged a smoker fee because after there was no proof of smoking. Said they couldn’t “sell the room” because of the smell of unburnt cannabis sticks. For all of the hassle I might as well had smoked in the room. Unreasonable policy. Will dispute with my bank. We all know the room was sold right after in the same day. Don’t come here if you plan to leave an empty pack of cannabis on the desk when you leave. Robber hotel

Our first stay will not be our last! Perfect hotel for a weekend in Little Tokyo with no car. Easy walk from metro station. So much to see nearby. Will recommend to anyone staying here. The room was attractive, large, very clean, and in all ways of superior quality to a typical business hotel. The staff were very helpful. Only drawback: It is hard to find a breakfast nearby. Most food spots open at 11:00 or 11:30am (except 2 bakeries).
- 5/5
First time staying at this hotel. Staff was very nice and helpful. This was with the valet, the security and the front desk as well as the cleaning members. Everything was positive for me. Literally my only "complaint" and keep in mind that this is me trying to find something to complain about, was that the sink seemed to be slightly clogged because it was filling up when I would wash my hands. Other than that, this was an extremely good experience and I would definitely stay at Miyako Hotel again!

Always a great experience when we stay here. Hotel is clean. Staff is always friendly, even though I’ve seen guests not be. Excellent distance to some great shops and restaurants. We stay here when we have events nearby and just use Uber to get around to areas not walking distance. Rooms are always clean. I love the products they offer here, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc. The bidets are a plus! Will stay again.

No shops handy

Clean, but lots of deferred maintenence issues. Noisy air conditioning, sink didn’t drain and handle to operate shower was not working as intended
- 4/5
Staff was great. Housekeeping great. Cleanliness great
- 5/5
Super clean and quiet
- 5/5
After checking out, they were able to hold our luggage and bags for free till the evening. It was so generous for them to do that.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The staff was great and the room clean. We really enjoyed being able to walk out the front door and explore Little Tokyo.

Very nice hotel, convenient to meteo access. Hotel rooms are excellent with great ammenities.
- 5/5
Such a good location..
- 3/5
Clean and convenient. No flexibility in checking in early and not enough seating in lobby, but did hold bags.

They saved my life with the dental kits and the shave kit! Thank you so much for being so thoughtful!! Everything was nice and clean.
- 5/5
We had a great experience here. The hotel is beautiful, everything was clean and the staff was very friendly. The beds were so comfortable and so were the pillows. I travel with my special pillow because of neck issues but I ended up using theirs.
- 5/5
very clean, really nice room, friendly staff, would definitely book again
- 5/5
The staff were very friendly abd polite. It was affordable price staying there. Valet parking was a reasonable price. I love staying there. If I go back to visit. Yes, I will stay there again.
- 5/5
Loved our stay! Obviously the closeness to Little Tokyo is a blast. Hotel staff was super helpful when we had questions or needed any adjustments for our room. Elevators and rooms are spacious. Pastry/matcha café in the lobby was great and the breakfast buffet had authentic japanese dishes (but skip the omelette!). This was our second stay and we will definitely stay again!
- 5/5
A great place to stay - nice location and easy to walk to everything that we were there for!
- 5/5
A very nice stay!
- 5/5
My wife and kids enjoyed the stay.
- 4/5
Great place to stay if you’re visiting Little Tokyo. The hotel has wonderful staff and the bakery in the lobby has a great selection of pastries.
- 5/5
Feels like ur in Japan away from Japan. Hahah!!
- 5/5
Have stayed here 2 times but still good service. Towels are nice and dont feel tough. Room been nice and clean the times we stayed. The water pressure in the bathrooms were also good. There are a lot of restaurants within walking distances as well.
- 5/5
Close to where I needed to go and staff extremely helpful.
- 5/5
check-in was fast and easy great people
- 5/5
Room was so comfortable and great service! I absolutely loved the bidet too!
- 5/5
There is no overnight parking in this area, and the minimum parking fee is $50 per night.
- 5/5
The only parking available is Valet Parking which is $50 per night. My only other critique is a safety matter I brought to the attention of the front desk. I love to listen to the sounds of big cities when I visit one and to my surprise, when I opened the window in my room, it opened very far out, enough room for a person to fit through. It was of great concern to me regards families with young children as there was a sofa in the premium room in close proximity to the window. The handle was extremely easy to manipulate to the open position, simple enough for a child to open and we were in Room 1104 on the 11th floor. I have been to numerous hotels in Las Vegas and I've yet to come across one there that doesn't have a safety mechanism preventing the window being opened beyond a certain point that would allow a person to fit through. Just an observation. I would hate to see a tragedy unfold.

Marvelous location, close to the Metro, great shopping and dining. The staff are gracious and polite. The sushi restaurant on the second floor is outstanding. The rooms are pretty big and ver comfortable, quiet and clean. In the bathroom the wallpaper is peeling at the

Everything about the hotel was great, I even loved the cafe they have in the lobby. My only thing would be the pillows for the bed are not very big and kinda flat, I had to ask for more pillows. Also, we stayed here for a concert and we came back late, valet is suppose to be 24/7 but when we pulled up it was blocked off. I had to park the car on the side and then walk to the hotel to tell them I needed to park. Other than that no other issues.

My family of four (2 adults, 2 teens) had a wonderful stay at the Miyako Hotel. It reminded us of our trip to Japan last year. The room was spacious and clean as well as the bathroom with its Japanese toilet that we’ve have missed so much. The beds were soft and comfortable. The staff were welcoming and attentive. I would say the first time we pulled into the valet parking the attendant wasn’t very nice but when we left a new attendant was there and got our car fast and was more pleasant. The location is great! It is walking distance to Little Tokyo with a market and cute stores. We would definitely come back again and stay at this hotel. Thank you for making our stay comfortable.
- 5/5
The staff were sooooo kind and helpful, and the hotel was very very clean!

Loved our stay at this beautiful hotel!
- 5/5
The hotel was excellent, and the staff superb and very friendly. We did not care much about the area and location.

This place is in an amazing neighborhood. The hotel is secure and clean. The staff were all so helpful and friendly. I traveled with my two teenage kids to see a concert and the hotel was perfect place. We had access to shops, food, and public transportation. The beds were comfortable and clean. The bathrooms were clean and the amenities were helpful.

- 5/5
Perfect place to stay at clean great customer service . Space was amazing and beautiful view
- 5/5
Miyako is perfectly positioned with access to the Metro and 1 stop away from Union Station. We were able to leave our baggage and tour the city while we waited for check in. The staff is amazingly friendly and kind. It is near plenty of delicious food and an easy location for food delivery if you wish to stay in. And the bidet was top notch!
- 5/5
Nice hotel, clean, and provides ready access to Little Tokyo. It's a half-block from the A-Line station which is 1 stop from Union Station, which also makes it a great place to stay if you are able to use the public transit system to get where you want to go. My go-to place to stay in downtown.
- 5/5
Location is excellent. Shopping and dining are convenient and walkable. Transportation and parking are also very convenient. The area is somewhat questionable.

Best hotel I ever stayed at.
- 5/5
Love the toilet.
- 5/5
Love the area
- 5/5
Very nice location.
- 4/5
Overall pretty good. Little flaw that there was dripping sound in AC.
- 2/5
Key feedback: The front desk service is inattentive and unresponsive, especially from the woman on the morning shift. She appears to dislike her job and is not well-suited for the hospitality industry. Additionally, the rooms are quite dark and have an unpleasant odor.
- 3/5
Loved the barman Kaye who made is feel very welcome & great service from him. He's been working at the hotel 11 years & is an asset to the hotel in our eyes. Best customer service & great drinks.
- 4/5
Nice room and nice hotel
- 5/5
Exceptional service! I left something behind and they were so great mailing it to me asap!
- 5/5
What a wonderful atmosphere! Friendly staff and in the middle of Little Tokyo...Walking distance to many restaurants, shops, close to the train...Booked for a business trip but will return for a vacation...
- 4/5
This clean, friendly hotel has the best breakfast place in the area… but it doesn’t open until 7. No coffee (aside from room coffee with powdered creamer) until then. Two blocks to Starbucks. Within walking distance of all of Little Japan and accessible from Union Station via the A line. Very clean room and bathroom with a Japanese style toilet/bidet.
- 5/5
Rooms were spacious and clean.
- 5/5
Friendly and amazing staff
- 5/5
Perfect spot for little Tokyo trip
- 5/5
A well run hotel in a great part of LA.
- 5/5
Really lovely hotel. Clean and well decorated rooms. May I say “clean” again, because that is so important. Valet was nice, felt okay about leaving car in their lot. Good location, and a very decent place.
- 3/5
I enjoyed the stay I didn’t like that we had to pay for parking and no AC unit in the room, if there was one, it wasn’t working very well
- 5/5
I love Miyako hotel, good service and very clean
- 5/5
This hotel is in a very convenient location and the staff is very nice.
- 5/5
My tween daughter, her bff and I went to a concert at the Moroccan Lounge. We walked from the hotel to the club (barely 10 mins) throughout the day and night and we had no issues. I even walked around the neighborhood alone after the concert to grab some dinner to go and had no issues. The front desk staff and security were super friendly and helpful. We never felt unsafe. Hotel room was clean and housekeeping serviced the room during our 2 night stay. I would recommend!
- 5/5
Was a perfect option for a quick one night stay downtown
- 4/5
The hotel is nice and clean. There’s a great cafe in the lobby with great pastries and matcha. The staff was very courteous and helpful. My main complaint is our bathroom smelled of mildew. Maybe they need to ventilate that space. Otherwise everything in the room was great. Nice and clean.
- 5/5
If you have any business to do in the downtown or the arts district it’s the place to stay
- 5/5
great hotel in great location
- 4/5
Very convenient to little Tokyo. Lots of restaurants to choose from and unique shops to explore. The staff in the hotel is courteous and helpful. The hotel lobby is nice, but it’s missing some traditional facilities like a gym or pool. The rooms are a bit dated and is in need of a refresh. But it was clean.
- 5/5
Japanese style toilets!
- 2/5
This hotel shouldn’t charge the guest valet parking fee for $50!
- 3/5
Nice property in a good location. First hotel I’ve stayed at in 50 years that had a non-operational shower. Absolutely no water flow. Ruined an otherwise good stay.
- 5/5
Property was clean. Easy access to dining options
- 5/5
Amazing hotel and great service!
- 4/5
It was an excellent value, and I would stay there again.
- 5/5
Clean and comfortable rooms. Easy and quick valet parking and room check in. Friendly staff. Awesome cafe downstairs.
- 5/5
It was cool
- 4/5
Nice, clean, quiet place to stay. I always feel safe there. The price of the Valet parking is getting ridiculous at $50. that is too much I feel embarrassed to pay that much. otherwise we will return.
- 4/5
Great stay all around though. Really nice staff
- 5/5
My favorite place to stay very safe and staff friendly dining and food basically all the amenities and more in and around this place

Location is in the very charming Little Tokyo District of LA. However it’s also adjacent to downtown.
- 5/5
Employees were wonderful! From check in to check out, I have no complaints. I would definitely stay here again.

It’s right in the center of everything little Tokyo has to offer. It’s well kept up and the staff was nice. The only unfortunate thing was the hotel breakfast was unreasonably expensive and there’s only 1 “breakfast” / bakery in the area.
- 5/5
Second stay here and we even added a day. Love the hotel. Comfy beds, clean and spacious. Must go if you get a chance.
