Reviews
The Cara Hotel is a beautifully designed boutique hotel with exceptional staff and service. However, the noise from the courtyard restaurant can be a significant issue for some guests, and the rooms are on the smaller side.

This is such a cute boutique hotel and hidden gem!! Gorgeous rooms and outdoor spaces - I had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The highlight was the staff and how attentive and accommodating they were!

Slow sevice for room service and in the dining area. Beautiful hotel though!!!

A very pretty hotel & a place where the Hollywood glitterati gather in the open air restaurant hoping to attract similar types. The food is excellent. But there is no pool as the ads suggest, and no elevator, so going back for lunch is certainly plausible but probably not to stay.
- 5/5
The Cara was a lovely place to spend a couple of nights. Room was so comfortable and despite having a balcony overlooking the patio, it was very quiet. The Sunday brunch was epic and well worth experiencing! We will be back!

From check-in to dinner service to the bar team, every interaction was thoughtful, warm, and seamless. The hospitality was truly exceptional, and the hotel itself is beautiful and inviting. My friends were so impressed that several of them mentioned reaching out about hosting future events there as well. I'm incredibly grateful to Charlie and the entire team for their kindness and care. I genuinely can't wait to come back.

Clean luxe pod environs in oddly disjunct neighborhood. Great remodel. Room was loud. Pool not really swim able it is smack in the middle of dining area. I was very comfy.

Everything was beautiful and staff was helpful
- 5/5
Lovely hotel with a great restaurant; staff could not be more attentive and professional.
- 4/5
Cons: The hotel is cashless and there is no ATM on-site, which made tipping a little inconvenient. Thankfully, there is a Chase Bank next door. The bathroom window in my room opened to an alleyway, which did not feel the safest, although I just kept it locked during my stay. I also noticed a few standard hotel amenities were missing, including an iron/ironing board, a latch lock on the door, and a folding luggage stand. Overall, I would recommend this hotel, especially for anyone looking for a clean, charming place to stay near the Greek Theatre. The excellent service, convenient location, and thoughtful touches made for an enjoyable stay.

Friendly staff. Excellent food.

Friendly staff, great food, great drinks and close to greek theatre!

Lovely room on the first floor near the pool. Excellent service, breakfast (not included) was delicious and dinner was wonderful. Highly recommend.

Loved our stay at Cara Hotel! We were consistently welcomed in warm, genuine hospitality; felt inspired and relaxed by the thoughtful, clean design; and slept deeper than most nights of late in the linens and supportive bed. Proximity to Friend & Family and Griffith Observatory Trail made for grounding morning coffee walks, and between Thai Town and Little Armenia, the neighborhood is full of amazing dinner options. Only wish we could have stayed longer — will definitely be back!
- 4/5
We enjoyed our stay. The food was good and rooms were clean and simple. The only downside is how loud everything is. We got woken up early because the restaurant is right outside the room windows. You could also hear your upstairs neighbors every step. I honestly loved the hotel itself though and would probably stay here again. I loved the outside bar, the drinks and food were fantastic.
- 4/5
I liked this hotel and the location and the staff were all super friendly. Easy valet parking, too. I rated 4 stars because there was a lot if noise around 11-12 pm ... maybe from the restaurant staff closing up, as my room was right next to the restaurant. Also no coffee maker in the room and none available when I had to hit the road at 6 am.

Absolutely adorable! Very well kept. Bar is inviting and had a 3 piece jazz band for happy hour. They were excellent. Dining was really delicious. The only issue we had was the noise from the dining area was right outside our bedroom door. And I couldn’t help wonder if we had any kind of privacy. And rooms are modern and look sharpe, but are very small.
- 5/5
The location is fantastic and makes getting around Los Angeles easy, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel is calm and well-curated. The valet service was seamless and convenient, which is always a plus in LA. One of the highlights was definitely the food it was excellent and exceeded my expectations. Overall, a really enjoyable experience. I would absolutely stay here again.

Loved our room and the overall vibe. Staff was very accommodating and friendly
- 3/5
its really cute and clean but also very noisy. I could hear people eating dinner late and people in the room above me walking around late at night. Also walls are thin enough I could hear the person in the room next to me coughing.
- 1/5
They do not have enough staff and the ones that are there are rude and unhelpful. I have been attempting to get an invoice for my stay for over 3 weeks with no response.
- 5/5
Bar and restaurant were excellent

Balcony room was very comfortable, and breakfast was great. Would gladly stay again!
- 5/5
Very cozy comfy nice place! The entire place is like a bubble getaway from the city, while being in the middle of everything. It has an upscale Caribbean feel. Wonderful food and drinks, the bacon in the morning is more like a succulent cut of pork belly - a great thing! The decor is lovely, the bed is like a cloud, and the drinks are tasty. Always nice to have French wines on the list, which they do! AC is a mini-split that effectively cools the room. Not much is walkable in this area, unless you want to hike up to the observatory or go to Norms, but plenty to do within a 5-10 minute drive. Valet available for $38/night. For some reason they only provide one extra roll of toilet paper at a time. Soap, shampoo, conditioner is in the shower with handsoap at the sink. The pool is not swimmable but is a beautiful water feature.

My stay at the Cara Hotel was wonderful. It was just what I needed at the last minute. The room was spotless, comfortable, well appointed, with just the right amenities. From the valet to the desk managers, to the housekeeping staff and restaurant staff, everyone I encountered was friendly and courteous, and made me feel comfortable and welcomed. The night manager was especially helpful when I needed an extra blanket and space heater for warmth.

Nothing The photo onlinedoesn't look nothing like what they advertised with. No elevator. Room wqs so hot, we had to check out from the hotel. The hotel room at cara worth nothing close to $400/night. I could only tolerate a night out of 3 nights booked. I checked into another hotel, which cost $150/night for a suite. Cara hotel is a glorified motel.

This a renovated motel from the 50’s…parking has been renovated to a dining area and pool. The small room, antiquated bathroom are indicative of this. The dining is within a few feet of the rooms…poorly soundproofed. A chi-chi group of diners cackled into the 10 o’clock hour, making sleep impossible. Adequate comfort for size, reasonably comfortable despite sagging mattress. Overall poor value for the $33+ charged.

The Cara Hotel falls short of the high expectations of its guests by repeatedly failing on basic needs and expectations. My wife and I spent last weekend in the hotel while visiting family in town. This was our second stay. The rooms are small, and as a result no complimentary coffee or small bottles of water are available in the room. This is frustrating for East Coast travelers who wake up early to find out no coffee or food service is available in the lobby until 7AM—making it necessary to walk 5 blocks to Starbucks. During our recent stay, housekeeping took our towels and did not replace them, nor did they empty our trash containers. We came back to the room wanting to shower, but had to wait until replacement towels were located. During our previous stay, we made reservations for 4 to entertain family for a special occasion. We were seated 45 minutes late after some beautiful people were seated before us. It wasn’t clear whether the restaurant had overbooked or just bumped us despite our having a reservation. We did not eat at the restaurant during our recent trip.

Lovely hotel. Room was beautiful and comfortable. Staff very nice. Bar had good cocktails and the patio was very pleasant. Valet parking was reasonably priced and convenient. A nice relaxing stay. We were upgraded to a courtyard room from a snug, which was nice as it seemed a good deal more spacious. It’s also a terrific location if you want to be near Thai Town/Los Feliz/Silver Lake or Griffith Park. Only caveat is courtyard rooms open right onto the restaurant, so there’s normal restaurant noise. It didn’t bother us but if you wanted to go to sleep early or sleep in late it could be an issue.

When making a booking, consider requesting specific needs. The dining area was too close to my room, with tables only about four feet from my door, which made my early evening a bit uncomfortable. The 7:00 a.m. kitchen wake-up was manageable given my schedule. I will stay again.

It’s very close to Griffin Park to unwind after busy day and it’s a small hotel. It has a fun vibe, it can be busy for happy hour if you room is out the patio by the pool and u opened windows but it’s a happy not loud. Loved the ease of checking, enjoyed a cappuccino in the quiet morning and in a second would book again.

The staff is over the top exceptional!

Fantastic hotel. Small but comfortable rooms. Courtyard is an upscale restaurant with great food and pretty reasonable prices. The bar is great. Thankyou Kaitlin for pouring some excellent cocktails. Please be aware that the pool is not a swimming pool which is the only downside I felt. For the money you are paying I did expect a pool. I would stay again though.

Our room was kept clean throughout our entire stay! It is a lot smaller than I had imagined, but the beauty of everything is accurate. The courtyard is absolutely gorgeous both day and night, very relaxing vibe. The entire team/staff is very friendly and accommodating as well. Great stay overall!

It was very cozy and chic, and around good hot spots. Planning my next trip VERY SOON!

Great staff! The room was so small though, there’s not enough room for two people to comfortably stay in the room. The hotel bar was nice.

close to SAPP coffee house, great pasta in the hotel restaurant and plays great music, beautiful bathroom downstairs

Everything here is fantastic, especially the service!!!! Can’t say enough great things about this place!!! Came twice, and will be back in the future.

Excellent service and very helpful staff

The mangers at this hotel were bribed to watch me and monitor my room & me. I went there to protect myself. Domestic violence getaway! Turned ugly. Can not trust them.

Excellent facility and superior staff.

The photos look amazing but in person the interior renovations look very beat up, old, and not well designed. We booked the higher tier room with balcony on the 2nd level with courtyard views. Bathroom is small, has poor water pressure and no power outlet; also not the cleanest. Room itself is small and has little space for luggage. The restaurant at the hotel is noisy all the way to midnight. Poor sound-proofing. We were lucky we were staying at this hotel for just 1 night out of our 5 day vacation and 1 night was about all we could stand. The hotel staffs were great and friendly but the hotel isn't comfortable.

Loved it!

Nice hotel although the neighborhood is not exactly upscale. Rooms are comfortable but on the small side. Evening activities create some noise issues.

The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The room was so nice and the outside dining area was special. I would highly recommend this property for stays near Hollywood and Los Feliz nature trail. We loved our hike to the Observatory, too.

Very difficult to sleep

Great place really nice

Area around the property rated average because all of Los Angeles is gross.

Also, the room is poorly soundproofed, we could hear our roommates talking.

Overall good stay

A hidden gem with a relaxing atmosphere.

The Cara was beautiful and had a really swanky vibe. Our room was a bit troublesome, with only hot water and no cold water, and our A/C didn’t cool properly. The staff couldn’t really fix it, although they tried. They did compensate us for the heat and inconvenience. The bar was cool and had a lovely outdoor area, great for photos with all the lush greenery. Brunch was great.

So this is a very cool hotel. Well designed. Beautiful. But some big misses. No outlets in rooms to plug in phone and devices. And the big issue. No coffee until 7!!! I had to Uber eats Starbucks. For paying 500 a room this was inexcusable!! And I had to make it to a morning TV show. Put coffee machines in the rooms !

Area feels run down and a bit seedy, but that’s Hollywood I guess!

Inside is beautiful and the staff wonderful.

Great stay. Staff is very kind and helpful. The hotel is close to The Greek theater. Which was perfect for us to get a Lyft to and from the concert. Would stay here again if we are in the area.

The team at CARA are attentive, professional, and personable. We had a remarkable experience from the time we entered the property until the moment we drove away. The restaurant is excellent and the property is stylish and calming. We are so looking forward to returning.

Peaceful, hip, fun place to stay. Great staff. Will stay again!

Beautiful hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Loved hanging out on the balcony above the gorgeous courtyard.

Amazing space and wonderful atmosphere

Interesting drive up and entry was a little hard to find from the street. Very close to Greek theatre and Griffith Park. Beautiful, boutique style hotel. Excellent and comfortable room, just a little small, but convenient, right next to pool and outdoor dining area. Excellent restaurant and bar. Minor complaints: bartender wasn’t really friendly at all (but the bar back Noland was great), and music was a bit too loud. Corkage fee at restaurant was exorbitant ($60), double to triple what I’ve paid at other nice restaurants.

I totally love this hotel … I will definitely come back

Thank you!

Area, crowd noise, we could hear the room next to us. We also had breakfast, ordered a omelet and a huevo ranchero, 20 dollars for a egg and fried tortilla thought to myself that must be really good, food was dull and overpriced.
