Kiawah Island Golf Resort - Villas

This was a wonderful stay! Steps to the beach and the pool. I will be back!

Resort in its whole is just excellent! Our Villa was 2 bedroom 2 Bath beautiful decorated and in perfect location.

The villa was very run down, the refrigerator water dispenser didnt work, the screened in porch was dirty and full of bugs so we couldn't use it and the furniture was very tired and worn. The beds were very comfortable and clean and the bathrooms were clean. We didn't use the kitchen appliances other than the refrigerator so I dont know if they were working properly.

The resort community is fabulous and Kiawah golf courses and restaurants beyond amazing. The Villas are old and tired. If ur not on top floor noise from above brutal - not that people were loud just every footstep is heard especially with little ones.

This place is absolutely wonderful ! I had a very spacious comfortable two bedroom villa overlooking wonderful views within five minutes to a gorgeous beach and lush trails of greenery. Staff was top rate! Loved every minute of my stay. Highly recommended.

Great stay and awesome location. Our group really enjoyed themselves. We found that everything closes at 9 except the bars. So be prepared to either grocery shop or buy from the local restaurants.

**Do not stay at this location.** We arrived in the evening and found the overall condition of the villa unacceptable. The unit was listed as a preferred/premiere room with upgrades, but it did not meet even basic cleanliness standards. There were three of us staying in the unit, and it only had one king bed and a pull-out couch. There was no bedding provided for the pull-out couch, so we called and asked for sheets to be delivered while we were out at a late dinner. When we returned, nothing had been delivered, so we had to call again. While waiting, we opened the pull-out bed and found stains, food debris, and small black specks that appeared to be insect droppings. We called the front desk to report it and asked about compensation for being unable to use a clean bed. We were told a manager would call us back after 8:00 a.m. We then inspected the king bed and found black specks on top of the mattress cover and a crusted substance on the comforter. At that point, we took the sheets that were finally delivered, removed the comforter, and used the thin sheet provided so that all three of us could sleep in the same bed. The next day, after looking more closely at the room, we found a bloody footprint stain on the living room carpet and a bloody handprint on the inside of the front door. That was the final straw. We decided not to spend another night there and checked out. To make matters worse, there was a

This was an anniversary trip for me and my husband and everything went smoothly. Check in was available early, staff was helpful directing us on available amenities and offering us directions, maps, and complimentary water bottles. The whole property is pristine and feels like another world with the serenity it offers.

The 3-bedroom villa was in a great location and super comfortable and cozy. It's short one start because we couldn't make coffee. There were no filters for the regular coffee pot, and they didn't provide pods for the Keurig.

Staff was very courteous and the back screened in porch was delightful looking out onto the pond with large oak trees and herons flying by in the morning. The marathon was great and the island is gorgeous

The townhouse I stayed in was in a great location to the tennis courts, which is the reason we were there. It was very clean, well stocked, and the beds were very comfortable! I loved the owners touch of their kids pictures there. Very sweet.

The apartment had spider webs; no soap, no shampoo in the bathroom! The pillows were like a lumpy rocks- unable to relax,to sleep. I called numerous time to get soap and shampoo and they gave us only one time a soap, 1 shampoo and 1 conditioner???!!!the next door neighbors had a dog, barking… we went to Sanctuary hotel bar and they lost our credit card!!! The security came looking under table and chairs and couch and couldn’t find it!! After couple hours they called saying was under the couch!! Really??!! Horrible experience!!

Lots of golf and tennis at the Kiawah Island resort. Beautiful Beaches in the villas were very nice. Would recommend for anyone who wants a quiet restful vacation.

The area was beautiful our Villa location was great however inside the room dirty cobwebs in ceiling, walls dirty and they offer free coffee but gave you one, under our beds dead bugs and we had a coach roach one night. Totally disgusting and wouldn’t go to that villa again

The villa was gorgeously decorated with great amenities. We loved the kitchen and sitting areas. The beach was a stroll away and was clean and beautiful. We will definitely be coming back in the future.

The villa was very outdated with very old decor and odd furniture. The bathtub wouldn't hold water, the coffee maker didn't work, the included bikes were broken or had flat fires, the curtain rods fell off when adjusting the curtains.

We where not told prior that there would be people painting the outside of the unit, to the point that there was a random guy standing on the porch when we had thr sliding glass door open.

Villa was old but still nice. All of the other facilities and spaces are gorgeous. Wish we could stay longer to explore more! Dining options are incredible!

We stayed at one of the tennis center villas for a weekend trip. Everything about the villa was fine except for one thing that DEFINITELY was not...ANTS POURING OUT OF THE BATHTUB FAUCET every time we turned it on. Literally dozens would coming pouring out with the water each time. It was disgusting as my wife and I had to stand at the ready to start smacking them dead as they fell out and started crawling up the edges of the tub each time to escape. This villa was perfect for the Kiawah island marathon. It was close to the race shuttles and an easy walk to the beach. The screened in porch with water views was my favorite part. Would highly recommend.

Checking in was a bit confusing and I wasn’t sure what the room actually looked like beforehand. The check in address was not included and when I called, the address they gave did not pull anything up. Overall, the condo could use some renovating but was nice. I found a dental flosser in the pull out couch and a weird herbal supplement on the table. Cleaning could have been better but overall nice place. Quick walk to the beach.

The property feels like it was built in the 1080s - the wood style condo that was in fashion back then. Over time the building has settled, floors are uneven. Aside from that, the unit has been updated and is well kept. It was nice for a short stay. The notes say it’s a 2 minute walk to the beach, it was more like 10-12 minutes walking at a reasonable pace.

No street lights. So finding one's way at night is challenging. There could be better signage on roads and property direction signage can be improved.

People were very nice. The photos did not match the place we stayed. Hotel.com showed photos of a room with a view of beach. We were far from the beach but place was fine.

Do not look at this like a hotel property. This is a collective bunch of different Villa owners, all posting their rentals on Hotels.com. I would avoid this at all costs, unless you want to be highly disappointed.

The villa was great. Very clean, well put together. My only complaint is that when booking, I was unable to reference back to the listing to see details about the villa in order to make sure I packed everything needed for our stay. (Such as- stocked kitchen, linens, etc). The beds were good, kitchen was very functional and clean. Overall, we really liked this location.

If you have a complaint or concern about anything, and I mean anything, you may as well compartmentalize it because you won’t be able to get a hold of anyone in a position to rectify your issue. Anyone you DO speak to will seem like the air you breathe is an inconvenience to them. I couldn’t even get a hold of, or a call back, from anyone in a position to upgrade something from my package. It seemed like they couldn’t care less that I wanted to spend more money. These are only a few of my complaints that really made me regret booking this mothers day vacation for my stay-at-home wife. I would not recommend anyone book anything anywhere on this resort based on customer service alone. Its a shame because its a beautiful location.

The condo was billed as delux, there wasn’t anything delux about it. Very dated, stained carpets, dangerous steps (that they wouldn’t fix), dirty screened porch and large hole in screen. Took 10 hours to get clean sheets and towels. Been to Kiawah many times this was absolutely the worst place to stay.

Area around property is very nice and we loved Kiawah in general but next time will likely look into the Sanctuary or booking villa directly so can see property ahead of time

It was very quiet and peaceful. The villa was clean and very nice. The one thing I didn’t like was it was very dark when driving around. Places were hard to find until you got use to where you were going. I will definitely stay there again.

Kiawah Island itself is nice, pretty setting, shopping area etc. The Villa I was in needed some TLC. Broken blind, dirty carpet, a few dishes that were chipped, closet door wouldn’t open fully due to dressers being too close, refrigerator door at ice maker leaked slightly, drawer below oven broken. On the positive side check in was easy, staff friendly, supplies good (tp, paper towels etc)

We chose the resort because of the golf and its proximity to Charleston. Liked the idea of having a place with a full kitchen.

Interior finishes were in disrepair, closets were filled with piles of owners stuff & bags and buckets full of cleaning leaving them unusable. It felt like we were in their unkempt home and it felt yucky. The hotel is lovely but this is just run down. Grounds were nice but not well tended. Very disappointing.

We were asked to leave the room 3 times so they could show the property. Therefor we had to take our valuables with us, which was a pain. Had we known this, we would have never stayed there. The unit not what we was expected , but the location it was beautiful , we enjoyed spending time on the porch. The resort area perfect, everything it was nice. The ways to the beach and the beach itself so beautiful.

This is a very nice condo located on an amazing island with many wonderful golf courses to play and wonderful beaches. I recommend getting there at check in time as the individual condos are hard to find in the dark.

Generally our unit was ok but a few deficiencies; we arrived on Super Bowl Sunday planning on watching the game there and we were disappointed that both TVs were about 24". Also, the bed in the master could not have been a queen. It seemed very small to us. The furniture in the condo was pretty dated, too. The best way to describe the condo was functional, not beautiful.

loved seeing wildlife roaming... The Ryder Cup was beautiful, and the food was delicious. Staff was very friendly. Costly yet would return for another visit. Thank you!

We enjoyed a beautiful visit and the well appointed and equipped unit. The vaulted ceilings, terrific view of the landscape and tranquility. The unit was designed with a peaceful marine, beach ambience. The kitchen was well equipped with bar ware, glassware, serve ware and utensils. We were within walking distance to the Sanctuary and the holiday decorations were spectacular. Dining experience and hospitality exceeded my expectations at the Atlantic Lounge and Jasmine Porch; the staff was cheerful and enhanced our holiday.

The grounds and the front desk hospitality were great. The villa itself was disappointing - dated, a little shabby, dark, no updated amenities. We found two large roaches during our stay, which understandably influenced this review. The staff were all good and we appreciated the transportation available within the resort (which you need as it’s very hard to get around on foot). If I visited again I would consider staying in the hotel, which seemed nicer (although I didn’t see the rooms), but would not stay in the villas (we were in a tennis court villa).

The villas at Kiawah are very outdated and in dire need of renovations. Our villa was not clean, dust on all furniture, piles of hair in the corners and all around furniture. Drier wouldn’t work unless the filter was removed (not safe), coffee pot was beyond broken to the point coffee would spill everywhere anytime you used it… Fitness room was closed for renovation, which was not divulged to us upon booking… It is a shame because the property itself is beautiful, the layout of the resort is great, and there are plenty of amenities to keep everyone happy! I would give the Kiawah resort another short were I guaranteed a cleaner and more updated place to stay.

All of the staff were very friendly and responsive. The villa was nice but the beds were not very comfortable. The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes when we arrived and the dishwasher was not working. It was repaired but stopped again after one wash.

The two bedroom condo we rented at the Tennis Club was terrific. The management of the resort was terrible. Just don't depend on anything they say to you or promise, and you will be alright: dinner reservations never made, access to the Sanctuary resources promised but never fulfilled. You get the picture.

Thought we were getting ocean view, view was the woods so disappointed. Not the unit I thought I was getting. The heat downstairs did not work.

When we arrived for check in at 4:30 (seems late for check-in), the room had not been cleaned and we had not been notified, so when we entered it had not been disinfected for COVID. The maintenance and cleaning crew were there the first 2 hours of our stay. Amenities very limited!!

Beach was amazing. Nice to have so many restaurants to choose from for to go meals. Would have been nice to have trash pick up during the week. More info at check in relating to number to call for beach chairs for Villa renters vs those at the hotel. Overall, beautiful and peaceful.

This is a pretty incredible resort and we'll definitely be back! The staff at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort are very accommodating and helpful. We loved the Night Heron pool facilities and bike paths. Our villa was in an excellent location to the beach and amenities and was very nicely furnished. The bathroom was a bit small, and the kitchen was missing a few essentials (coffee filters, black pepper, only had two forks), but other than that we really enjoyed our stay. Be aware that there are only stairs leading to this villa.

The property was small for the rate but it was a great location for a mini getaway. Needs a little updating such as bed squeaks when you sit on it, television is small in bedroom and small roaches was seen in master bathroom and bedroom.

The beach was beautiful and we enjoyed riding our rental bikes on it. The paved trail system also was good for biking and walking. The island, golf resort, and natural area are lovely. Our rental is tired but was comfortable and met our needs for the weekend. Food and resturants were expensive.

Relaxing stay in a beautiful location. We stayed in a 2 bed villa overlooking the lake at Parkside. Check in was smooth, villa was clean and well equipped with everything. We had no issues.

I stayed here for the Kiawah Island Marathon and had a great experience. The place was the perfect size for a weekend stay. We had a kitchen and king size bed. Everything was clean and organized. Check-in was very easy. My only complaint is that the title of this listing "East Beach Village" was misleading. When we checked in we were given a unit in West Beach. The reason I booked East Beach is because it was within walking distance to the start line of the race. West Beach is further and I had to take a shuttle to the race. The title of this listing was misleading however overall we had a great experience and would stay here again.

The beach/ocean view from our Shipwatch villa was excellent. And, we enjoyed the layout of the unit. However, we found the interior of the unit to be a bit disappointing. For example, the paint was peeling from the ceilings of both bedrooms; screens on the balcony doors in at least two rooms were broken in places; they used flat sheets for the bottom and they seemed to be ill-fitting to the beds. It was clean and the appliances worked well. Also, sound-proofing from the hallway noise was lacking. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but not sure we would return to this property.

It rained the whole weekend, but we enjoyed each other’s company. Played monopoly and built a gingerbread house. Very relaxing!

The rooms need an urgent redec. They look shabby. The amount and quality of the cutlery/glasses was very poor.

The villa was very comfortable, but it was a bit annoying that everything you wanted to do (bikes, beach chairs, nature tours, etc) cost extra cash. Also, the Island golf courses are much too expensive so we drove to local courses. We never really used the amenities of the Resort which was our fault.

The villas were not access friendly to the beach. Our room (when it was booked) was supposed to be "scenic view villa". However, the only "view" we had was a partially obstructed view of the tennis courts. Otherwise, the room, although it was a little beat up, was very clean and had plenty of amenities.

We had a great va action. Looking forward to returning.

I will book this property again. Very peaceful, clean and relaxed atmosphere. Love the comfortable beds, 2.5 bathrooms, amenities and beach decor. It felt like home away from home.

Lots to do for famalies. Golf, beach, tennis, bike riding, pools, restaurants.

Our Villa in the Tennis Villas was Amazing!! Decorated beautifully, clean etc. Our AC did not work on arrival but was made right pretty quick. The only complaint I have is that we weren’t given much info about the venues in general. We didn’t know we couldn’t use the Sanctuary pool so were treated like trash when we tried to go in. At check-in, there should be an overview of the property and what you have access to. Also- pools etc are very spread out- so glad we rented bikes!!!

The unit that we had in Turtle Point was clean, comfortable and well-appointed. The food in the resort was a bit pricey but it was fabulous. Highly recommend the steak at the Turtle Point Bar & Grille. The beach is pristine and we saw plenty of wildlife on the island. We very pleased and can't wait to go back.

The Villas have lots of room and convenient parking. The location is great for golf

This property should not be rented out. I slept on a chair because I was afraid to sleep in the bed.

The entire staff was friendly. The resort itself was clean and well kept. It was very peaceful and quiet. Had a wonderful time and would highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be back.

The beach townhouse was very dirty, outdated and had a nasty sewer smell coming from the 1st level master bathroom drains. We asked the property manager to move us and they gave us 2 options that were very nice inside and updated, but they BOTH had cockroaches crawling on every level of the villas. We decided to deal with the sewer smell instead of deal with the cockroaches. The island itself is very nice and the pool is great but we recommend doing a walk through of your room before you commit to staying there.

Great location; short walk to beach. Cool weather kept us from using the patio which would have been nice. One issue was the front door which was difficult to open and we had to slam it in order to close. The second issue was the low sink height in MBR bathroom which made getting washed up or brushing teeth uncomfortable. Everything else seemed ok!

Did not go for golf. Not many choices for food.

It was a nice property, with potential, although dated. It needed a very deep, top to bottom cleaning, inside and out. The villa was very dusty and smelled as such. There were cobwebs and visible layers of dust everywhere, including the ceiling fan blades. One of the cabinet door faces literally broke apart when I opened a cabinet. The bedding was very musty and there was a small blood stain on a white quilted duvet in one of the bedrooms. It was obvious not much attention or TLC has been shown to this unit in quite a while. It was decent for 2 nights and for the price. But I wouldn't want my family to stay there again.
