Hampton Inn & Suites Jekyll Island

Had an issue checking in regarding my room choices, but it was resolved next AM by very professional and friendly staff (Sarah). Good daily hot breakfast and a restaurant, with friendly staff, on site as well. Typically good price point. I have been there multiple times and planning to be back.

I recently stayed at Hampton Inn Jekyll and cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. The rooms were spotless, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the amenities were top-notch. The complimentary breakfast offered a great variety of fresh options. Perfect location and exceptional value for money. I will definitely be returning!

This was our second stay and won’t be our last. Welcoming staff, beautiful grounds, pool, hot tub; and my favorites, waffles and all day coffee!!! Brought the dog this time, he loved it too. Pet friendly but you’d never know there was a dog there before you. Very clean. Every member of the staff spoke to or greeted us every time we saw them. Very professional. We’ll be back again, hopefully soon.

My family and I had a wonderful time at Hampton Inn Suites. The rooms were really clean, the breakfast was great, and the amenities (pool and hot tub) were so relaxing. 10/10!

We loved that we could rent bikes right there at the hotel. The breakfast buffet was large with a great variety of food to chose from. The lady who was working stocking, cleaning, etc truly did a fantastic job!! She was great about keeping things stocked proactively, helping people with the waffle maker, and never stood still more than a minute. We would definitely stay here the next time we visit Jekyll Island!

The microwave and fridge are very small. The TV remote and selections are archaic. But we didn’t come to watch TV. But it’s still nice to be able to watch a movie if you want.

The hotel was very nice and convenient to the beach. However.., the beaches were NOT GOOD..!! Very disappointing compared to just 3 years ago. Two looked like refugee camps and the entrance to the driftwood beach had stacks of busted concrete and so much trash. Water was the worst I’ve ever seen.

The room was very clean and staff was extremely helpful and courteous.

The location , shuttle to different areas, bikes easy access to beach . We got to the fourth floor as soon as we walked in we had a knock on the door, replacing batteries in different fire alarms on the floor and in the rooms . I feel this should’ve been done prior to people checking in. Open the bed to find a little bug in the bed didn’t know if it was a bug bug or not brought it to the manager’s attention. They said it was not a bed bug and apologized . Asked us if we wanted to leave and change rooms, but we were already settled in so we just took it and stayed ,…musty smell in the room. Don’t understand why properties have carpets in the room when located close to beach. Horrible smell at night marijuana in the hallway that entered our room complained to management said that they would follow up. Didn’t help us any. Hard time, falling asleep both had headaches. Just the whole aura disappointed us will not stay again. Super hungry the first night we stayed ordered from the bar over $40 for two slices of a flatbread pizza. It was horrible. A pile of mush in a plastic container. The shrimp teriyaki was horrible. It was zapped in the microwave ians teriyaki was poured over it. Disgusting went right in the trash total loss. Manager said that they would give us a new Pizza ? the next day from a chef that was coming in. He was nowhere to be found we just took it as a loss. Expected at least the charge to be removed off our room bill . With all these complaints, nothing was compensated .Overall, not a good experience bridge to the beach was a little scary covered in mold and the beach itself. Very murky water very muddy overall will never stay again.

It was too far from the beach which included lots of stairs, so we did use the beach so much unless we went to another beach entrance location. The refrigerator was small to be a studio suite

The property is located next to the beach- just a short walk on the boardwalk and under the oak trees . The hotel was clean and new.

Beyond that, the facility and grounds were well maintained. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast was typical hotel buffet, but coffee was refreshed throughout the day.

Quiet location on the island. Feels secluded in the maritime forest. Has a beautiful boardwalk out to the beach through the trees.

Very nice hotel, nice staff, just the right place for what I had to do on Jekyll Island Staying for 2 nights after the First Night zero room service was provided. I was told I would have had to say if I would have needed a room service like cleaning etc.

This is a great place to stay on Jekyll Island. We only spent the night but I would come here again and stay longer! The surrounding area and hotel amenities are enough to keep you active and happy! Very few hotels have bars and serve food anymore so that was a plus too!

Beds were uncomfortable, and the bathroom sink and tub didn’t drain well, so puddled water isnt good in the tub while I’m trying to shower

I would have given full 5 stars but i paid extra for a room with a balcony and was given a wheelchair access room on the first floor with view of the parking lot, no balcony...was pretty disappointing but we made the most of it anyway!

The whole experience was great from start to finish! Staff were super, friendly and genuinely helpful. Room was clean and accommodating. Pool, Gym, breakfast area, bar and all common areas were clean and very well maintained. Overall? 10-10👍

A very pleasant hotel, and the rooms are quite interesting. The breakfast was delicious. You might think scrambled eggs are just scrambled eggs—but no, they really were tasty.

Great location and spacious rooms. Difficulty reaching front desk staff when calling from room. Not as clean as would have liked. A/C did not cool to preferred temp.

Staff were excellent and that location is like no other. Would definitely stay again, one thing to note was that there was roach in our room. I mentioned it to the staff and then mentioned giving us some Hilton honors points but it’s been a week and we haven’t got those yet

We went to Jekyll Island for a Sisters Week and Hampton Inn did not disappoint! As soon as you stepped into the lobby, you could feel the warmth and friendliness. Every single staff member greeted us and we even developed friendships while there. The room was spacious and very clean. The pool was always attended to and it was an excellent temperature. The breakfast had lots to offer and the boardwalk to the beach was one of our favorite spots. James, the manager, gave us lots of places to explore while on the island and he was such a pleasant person to talk to. We just loved being here and want to come back.

Overall I loved the property, it provided a seemingly safe and comfortable place for me and my family to enjoy. It’s very nice and conveniently located to the beach and just a few miles away from very nice restaurants. Housekeeping was very inconsistent.

This was one of the most pleasant trips I’ve had to the island and we visit quite often. This was definitely a 10/10 down to the friendly helpful staff and the food was excellent. I’m inclined to say the Hilton standard experience has been one to remember! We will be back time and time again! Actually I loved everything about it, a beautiful natures hideaway! Also loved the breakfast!

The staff was as amazing!! I gave it 3 stars because we found a piece of pretzel on the sofa bed between the mattress and the platform. That's the only thing, besides that the staff was super friendly and helpful, close to all everything on Jekyll, and walking to the beach is beautiful. Keep in mind walking to the beach is not wheelchair accessible.

We loved the pool and hot tub. The very short walk to the ocean was on a beautiful path. We rented bikes for a nominal fee and explored the island.

Check was horrible an impolite staff member who did inform us of our room number and had to be reminded again was Hilton Honors member too. Pool and breakfast were great outside property was disgusting with dog poop along walk ways. Dogs though leashed greeted us as we try to get off elevator and backed us back in by coming at us and growling. Owner very rude and would not pull away even though we stated we are not dog people.

Stayed for 2 nights, overall great hotel! They are pet friendly so you may hear a random dog every now and then, no biggie. We had lunch at the bar… not the best. They couldn’t get the cheese melted for my nachos so I picked a bbq sandwich instead… um, it wasn’t good. The meat was really loaded down with big pieces of chewy fat. My husband’s buffalo chicken strips were good though! They’re a bar, so the only nonalcoholic drink options were Coke and Diet Coke, that was fine. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The room was really clean and had extras of things we needed. We didn’t get a chance to use the pool or hot tub this stay but have stayed here previously and they were great!

It was easy to check in even when we arrived a day early. Everyone was very courteous and breakfast was good every day we stayed. Coffee and hot water were available all day and I really appreciated that for making my tea. I hope to visit again!

Couldn’t see the beach through the trees, but that was expected based on the pictures. The boardwalk to the beach through the mangroves was so pretty and the beach was great. Staff was very nice and friendly. Breakfast was unexpectedly good and had a big selection. We couldn’t ask for a better weekend getaway, and can not wait to come back with the kids!!

The shuttle service let us down also. It was supposed to run until 10 pm. We called for return pickup beginning 9:45 but it took several tries before the staff member answered. When we reached the front desk at 9:55 the driver had clocked out.

There are NO OCEAN VIEWS from any balcony rooms on any floor. Trees have covered the entire beach views. The team members are courteous & helpful. The hotel is exceptionally clean & well kept. Selection of breakfast items was good & staff were polite. The bar service & staff were great.

My only complaint is about the doors that lead to the exits. They’re LOUD! Our room was next to one of the doors and we heard it every time the door opened and closed. Other than that, our stay couldn’t have been better. Comfortable beds. Good views. Laid back atmosphere.

We could not see the ocean from our balcony because of the dunes and trees. However, there is a great wooden raised walkway through the trees to the beach - maybe 2 minutes. From the shops and restaurants, it's about a mile back to the hotel along the beach. They also offer a free shuttle to/from anywhere on the island so you can shuttle into town and walk back. Don't miss driftwood beach! The staff at the hotel are all very friendly.

The room was huge! Bathroom was well stocked. Loved to option to affordably rent bicycles to go sightseeing and to restaurants. Loved the boardwalk to the ocean. That was a high I both at sunset and sunrise.

Great location!! Alexis at the front desk was exceptional and made our check in process easy. The room and common areas were modern and clean. It was a windy and rainy weekend, but we still enjoyed riding our bikes on the trail that completely circles the island. We appreciated how pet friendly they were and there were great places to take him for a walk…especially in the wooded park right next door. My only complaint was the rowdy kids that were there for a soccer tournament. There were a lot of them and they ran the halls making a lot of noise late in to the evening. Lastly…breakfast was great all three mornings we were there.

Ok, no balcony

Took my girlfriend to Jekyll Island for a date. We walked the shops, went on the dolphin tour and had dinner at the Warf Restaurant. While at dinner we decided we were having such a lovely time, we wanted to stay on Jekyll. I found and booked us a room last minute. We particularly wanted a place with a hot tub. I was able to find everything we were looking at The Hilton Inn On Jekyll Island. Everything was great! We are definitely coming back to stay again.

No area to walk pets

Loved seeing all the dogs joining their families. Pool was lovely and appeared to have ADA accommodations. Loved the boardwalk to the beach thru the old growth trees.

Hotel should put pet owners in 1 section of the building.

I personally loved this property because it was pet- friendly, had not only free breakfast but a bar/food on property as well. It had a pool, hot tub, kiddie pool, WiFi, laundry on site, little shopping area up front. The staff were great! I loved how clean the place was and how friendly everybody was! My partner and I will most definitely be back! 10/10! I highly suggest you book, you won’t regret it.

Property was quiet and tucked away. Wish it was a little closer to the beach front. Food wasn't served from 2-4, and it was hard to get a Door Dasher to deliver there. Great free breakfast, and staff was so nice and helpful!

A nice stay in a nice place

This is our third stay at The Hampton and it is always consistently a great experience. The staff is welcoming and accommodating. It’s a short walk to the beach after which you can enjoy the pool. The food at the bar was just right and saved a trip out. Highly recommend!

Staff a friendly. Pool area is excellent and well maintained. Rooms are a great size and well equipped.

There should be more lighting in the parking lot. Also, we were late arrivals (which was relayed to reservations) and ended up in a room that was not like what I paid for. They decided to change our room the following day and give us the room I had paid for. That evening around 11:30 we were coming back from being out, our room was given to someone else. They went into our room but didn't stay because they saw our stuff. We went back to front desk again because our key didn't work.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast offers a good variety of foods. The pool area was relaxing, but the pool could have been a bit cleaner.

We are enjoyed the quiet out of the way beach access. Breakfast bar was enjoyable and had awesome juice.

Our go-to on Jekyll Island. Great location. Love the private boardwalk, pool, and breakfast. Easy parking.

Check in was quick and easy. Got a great room facing the dunes (and not the parking lot or pool) so was super quiet. It's a family hotel so be prepared to be around a lot of kids. Staff was helpful. Good at the bar was a bit of a miss, couldn't order most of the items due to lack of supplies to make them. Would stay again. There are stairs to get to the beach.

We stayed here for the 4th of July weekend! This hotel was clean and the staff were great! We definitely enjoyed our stay!

Secluded and quiet. Dog friendly. Friendly staff. Bar/restaurant hours are odd. They allowed a late checkout, but cleaning staff were trying to push us out of room before it was time to check out. I had to use a translator app to communicate with the staff member who only spoke Spanish, who eventually understood why I was still in the room taking a shower. This was a minor issue. I would stay here again.

This property is very nice and easy to get to. A 2:30 am fire alarm was not fun. Some amenities were not available (bar). The guest laundry had issues with bank card use but the front desk knew this but there was no sign to let folks know.

This was a great place to stay. The proximity to everything that we wanted/needed was fantastic. The environment felt very safe. I would certainly stay here again.

Overall the stay was good. Except having to use the stairs, constantly. Elevator was always doing something, like not moving or moving extremely slow. Was bad when we seen one of the managers elect to use the stairs instead of attempting the elevator.

Story. This is followed up by them telling me that they can move me to another room, but they can’t give me a room key. So every time I want to get in my room, I have to go to the front desk for help. I won’t even get into everything that happened-but it’s safe to say—this place is beyond horrible.

The property was clean and well maintained. The staff (especially Brandon) was very helpful and went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. The hot breakfast was a big hit with my teenage granddaughters. The room was spacious and beds comfy. I had the pullout sofa bed and it was comfortable enough to sleep well.

Even though the hotel is a long walk from anything, the free shuttle is nice. Check in was great and the staff was great

Good stay. lower channels of TV did not work and staff was unable to remedy even after two attempts. Claim they wikk be changing service soon. Very clean. Breakfast not bad for this class hotel. Nice pool and easy beach access. Restaurants in the area were average in quality but not in price. Stayed on 4th floor which has limited pets since my wife has pet alergies. No issues.

Management Was Very Concerned About my Stay went out of They’re Way to Address any an all of my concerns, To make my visit as Comfortable, Relaxing and Enjoyable, it was Obvious that there are some issues with Staffing But Management Got on it Quickly and Efficiently making my Stay pleasant, and Enjoyable, I have stayed at this Facility a Number of times and Never Received the Attention and Courtesy of Management So Professional , and I will Surely Visit Again.

The motel is outstanding especially very affordable. The only issue we had was getting the room cleaned and clean towels staffed in the room but was issued them at the front counter other than that the stay was outstanding. Would also like to say the down stairs female bartender was very friendly done an outstanding job with the drinks as well as the conversation deserve a raise .

This hotel lacked nothing that we needed. It is in a nice area away from the main area which means less people. Nice beach, pool, hot tub, snack and drinks to order, fire pit, good continental breakfast, clean spacious room but the hot water isn’t super hot and really whatever you might need. If you are a dog lover then this place is good, beautiful dogs everywhere. Price is fair also.

Breakfast was a nightmare with the smallest stations set up with so many people trying to eat no matter what time we went. Staff couldn’t keep up with things constantly running out. The last morning of our stay we didn’t even bother trying to get breakfast. The pool was foggy and full of sand, which is typical with it being next to a beach but the showers leading from the boardwalk to the hotel barely worked. A large wedding party was there the same days as us and they trashed the pool area. A manager walked through and saw trash in the pool and overflowing garbages and no one ever came out to clean it up. There were also tons of beer cans left by the boardwalk. Definitely won’t be staying here again. Staff was nice and did their best but being understaffed on such a busy weekend really set them up for frustrated guests.

If there wasn't so much sludge in the water i may have got in it. The property had a few too many mosquitoes to enjoy the pool. But it has rained a lot recently. Otherwise the room, the staff, the breakfast was splendid. Really enjoyed my stay with my pup. We had a great time Thank you so much My first stay on Jekyll Island. We had a wonderful stay. I am glad that this is the hotel we ended up booking among the list I was considering. I loved the oak hammock type vibe around the pool area and also having private beach access. The room was clean and comfortable and we really enjoyed having the balcony. The staff was friendly and hospitable. One staff member in particular, Jason, went above and beyond when he helped my husband when we were locked out of our truck. We can’t wait to return to Jekyll Island and this Hampton Inn.

The pool was very dirty and the area around the pool was not inviting.

Beach access, breakfast and parking.

Pros: nicely landscaped grounds, pretty good breakfast options and tasty coffee in the morning with generous hours to get a meal, nice views from the room, mattress and pillows were decent, the walkway from the pool area to the beach was in good repair with multiple places to sit along the boardwalk - - Note: while they offer accessible rooms and a wheelchair accessible pool and hot tub, you cannot get to the beach from the hotel without being able to navigate a full flight of stairs on each end of the walkway. One other perk was the shuttle to get around the island, we used this and were glad for it. Areas for growth/information for future guests: starting with the room - - the accessible room was very well designed for wheelchair needs but the shower is a standard tub that was equipped with a removable seat rather than a zero or low entry shower stall. The room was large with lots of room to maneuver but was very poorly lit and had random, unmatched lamps throughout the room, most of which were not operated by a wall switch. The elevators sounded and felt risky, the pool needed debris removed from the zero entry area.

This hotel was very clean and quiet. Perfect for our weekend getaway. Had everything we needed.

We had a great stay! We brought our 2 dogs and it was perfect. The room was very clean. I wouldn’t have known it was pet friendly. Sometimes you stay in pet friendly rooms and they aren’t the nicest this was not the case here. The breakfast was great. The property was beautiful. Would definitely stay here again if I was looking for a low key relaxing getaway.

When I heard a dog bark (turned out to be behind me on lobby tv) I asked if this was a dog hotel, which I avoid. She said yes. I said if a dog barks, you address that, correct? She shrugged, so I attempted to clatify and employee (#2) said she would do NOTHING about a barking dog, but pointed to employee #1, who was LEAVING FOR THE DAY, and said “she might” and shrugged again. Not typical of Hilton, whose tarnished brand has gone downhill in the past 4 years. I stayed at 3 Hilton’s this trip and 2 of 3 have SERIOUS issues with umprofessional, rude, without knowledge, not helpful, uncaring, staff, this Jekyll Island location being one of 2 rating poor to unacceptable bad attitudes of staff. ROOM: large handicap room, clean, very basic, bed was comfortable. Blackout drapes, fridge, cooling/heating with constant fan was acceptable noise rang BREAKFAST: basic, various choices. acceptable POOL AREA: did not use, looked nice from afar WALKOVER TO BEACH: in good condition, extremely narrow beach, not accessible at high T Due to Staff- would NOT stay again

My bill was more than it was supposed to be, Laura at the front desk did not seem like she wanted to be there, the side door leading out on the first floor would not lock; I told someone at the front desk and nothing was ever done about it. That is a safety issue. Other than that, the stay was good.

Perfect location! The beach was not crowded at all. It's such a quick, easy walk from hotel to the beach. I love the fact that it's dog friendly yet stills remains very clean. We were able to take the dog out to the beach for a bit and then bring him back to the room without being completely worn out. If I come back to Jekyll anytime soon, this will be my first choice.

Our stay was very good. It was the smoothest regarding coming in and simply getting our room key without any hiccups. The customer service was always on point. And the breakfast was more than you could ask for, and the staff was very friendly. One suggestion, could we have some bacon on the menu? :-)

The hotel itself is lovely and the location is great. Right on the beach and surrounded by nature. The free breakfast was yummy with a good selection of fresh food. Hotel employees were lovely. However, the noise was awful and therefore we won't be back. Guests were screaming, yelling and carrying on downstairs, outside. One of the rooms next to us blasted the tv and music late into the night and starting 6am again the next day. The room on the other side hosted a family reunion with people yelling, children screamingand throwing things against the wall, adults drunk, etc. Earplugs didn't help and my husband, son and I all slept horribley for multiple nights.

Overall, this hotel has always been a reasonable and well maintained place on the southern side of the island. Allowing pets, having complimentary bikes available is great. This time, I got a room that had a toilet float/refill problem so every 1.5 min, the water refilled - and it is loud. At night I closed the bathroom door, but it was still audible. To be fair, this is the first time I have had a maintenance issue there. Also, the food is slim-pickins unless you are bent on sugar on top of sugar. Having some cheese spread or mini cheese rondels in the fridge and a few apples or nice quality humus or even beef jerky as a snack choice, rather than fritos, funyons or candy bars would have been great. Just a thought. As always, a nice clientele - family based and quiet.
