Best Western Plus Jekyll Island

The breakfast situation was not great. There was only one person refilling and making sure hot foods were ready. That person could not be found for at least 15 - 20 minutes. It was full of people and could have been much better.

The suites offered privacy due to their locations on the back side of the property. Though rooms ( living room area/sleeper sofa) were older with a slight smell, the suite was clean and comfortable

Location, shower and pool. Ceiling fan in room was nice however made a noise when it was on. AC wasn't working properly. Beds were too lumpy and the fitted sheet wouldn't stay on.

Staff was extremely helpful and friendly, check in and check out were super easy, breakfast was a little chaotic but it’s free and they have a good selection. I would highly recommend staying here

Stayed with my mim and sister in law for a girls trip. Beds were very comfortable, everything was clean and staff was awesome. Great breakfast and very close to the beach and shopping areas.

When we arrived, the room wasn’t ready, but they did accommodate us to let our check out be a little later on the day we left ,the room was bigger than expected and very clean. The pool was great and the staff was very nice. Overall, a very nice stay! would definitely book again

The property was easy to find. The rooms were very clean. The cute boy with the glasses on day shift was extremely nice and helpful Nicole!! She hates her job and made it everyone else’s problem. She gave us the wrong room twice. She acted as though she had no idea how to do her job. She also was just extremely rude anytime we needed anything. Magically when she worked the pool wasn’t stocked with towels and she didn’t have any supplies. Also the fire alarms went off and staff was no where in sight. No one was helpful or anything

Would i stay again? Id try real hard not too. Staff at front desk was without help, so anything you needed required standing in line for 10-15 minutes while he worked out what the customer needed. We love Jekyll Island and have been back frequently, just not staying here…

We have stayed here twice and both times have been ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!!! I would give them 10 stars if I could. We won’t stay anywhere else on the island!!!!

It was a good location. We really liked the breakfast and pool option. The room was mostly clean aside from the fridge the first couple days. I do like they have a fridge and microwave option.

Well, the staff was friendly. There were things that needed to be addressed. At one point one of the kitchen breakfast staff lock the door at 9:30. The door was not able to be opened from the inside, which was a safety hazard. Had to ask to be unlocked so that we could exit the breakfast area.The water in the room tepid at most. Never had hot water, even after talking to the maintenance man. This was a family get-together. None of us had hot water! When checking out there was a balance due, which was incorrect when I went back to the desk, the clerk charged me over $200 more. I waited until Monday when the general manager was in and call to speak with him. He agreed that I was overcharged and that his staff needed additional training. I asked for a receipt showing the credit to be emailed to me. I received the original receipt with the balance due, but never received the credit receipt. My credit card was credited, but even replying to the original receipt that I had received I never received the correct receipt.

We love the size of the bathroom. It was a big bathroom and shower was a huge big enough for 4 people shower. The toilet sit too low need a taller toilet seat.

The rooms are very dark, very small windows. Also the fact that you have to continually have the hvac fans on in case of the fire alarms going off, was a pain. Lastly the mattress was old and needs replacing.

They had a room that slept 8 people, the beds were thick and comfy and they had some nice outdoor furniture in the hallways around the pool so we actually spent a lot of time outside the room. My only complaint is there is only one bathroom in that big room and the bathrooms need an upgrade. They spent a lot of time updating the rooms though so everything about that was clean and nice. For a hotel this close to the beach, I’m surprised how clean it was. No sand or anything.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The day we checked in we got the best recommendations for local dining which all turned out to be great. The breakfast was hot and actually good for a free breakfast. The pool was clean and beautiful. This hotel is an easy walk to the beach and we even saw wild deer each day we were there which made it extra special for our family. We are already planning our next trip back.

The rooms were extremely comfortable and clean. The breakfast, while standard, was well-maintained. The night staff were exceptionally friendly (given that we arrived sometime around 1am). And the location near the beach was really, really nice. I can't say there was anything I specifically didn't like. It was an all-around solid place to stay on an island filled with pricey lodging.

Decided to stop here for the night on our way to Savannah . Clean rooms, hot breakfast. Would stay again

This place was perfect as far as location was concerned for me and my wife and our pet. The staff was always courteous and respectful. I left today (5/9/26) and wished that I could have prolonged my stay. Staff was so courteous that this one maid was walking by my room and just bc my puppy barked and heard her walking by (bc her cart was rumbling)I heard her say…”sorry puppy.!” I enjoyed the serene atmosphere as well. The breakfast selection was great too with many things to choose from to eat. I will definitely be coming back here and hope to once again obtain a room on the side just as I did this past time. The rooms were so nice I actually spent a vast majority of my time sleeping. On a scale of one to ten I give this place an eleven. Keep up the great work guys..!!! Great job.

Our room was super clean and had everything we needed. We had a suite and faced the water. The staff here are all top notch and super friendly. We loved our stay hete and would definitely recommend it.

I'm beyond disappointed and disgusted by the cleanliness of the room, that is a big stain of vomiting with food still on the floor, wall, and bed sheets from the previous guest. The only reason I didn't asked to change rooms is because we're exhausted from our long day of competition, the kids were already in bed and there was a 2nd room with two beds

The smell of disinfectant in the room was overpowering. When I asked about it, the desk clerk said "They're all like that." When the smell wore off, the smell of dog urine was very strong. Rooms are made up "on request." That means they bring fresh towels. They do not clean the room or make the bed. The bed itself was terrible, and the bottom sheet did not fit so that the dirty mattress pad was constantly exposed. When I did request that the room be "serviced," they brought fresh towels but left the door ajar which I discovered when I returned several hours later. Fortunately nothing was stolen. Overall a bad experience.

We enjoyed the breakfast & the lovely outside seating area in the back. The bed was soo comfy, but we had the King Size. Peaceful mostly.. it was Spring Break for some.The staff was amazing & super helpful with suggestions & our extra pillows. The trees surrounding the hotel are gorgeous & the sunrise was beautiful. The beach is literally right across the street for late night walks with the stars. There was an issue with the water. It had a weird smell...like a plastic, silicone smell. Also the water pressure was weak & the temperature for the hot water needs adjusting because it was barely warm. And... the shower heads need to be updated. I have thick hair & it took me 30min to get the shampoo out of my hair.

Very nice room but check-in was delayed as they didn’t have enough cleaning staff so they had to do a lot room switching to get us in about a half hour later than 4pm. Was a little annoying.

Check in was horrible , it says 4 but we didnt get to go in to our room until 5:30 becais3 they werent finished cleaning it . The is no beach view but the pool is excellent and so is the breakfast

Nice sized suite, clean rooms and shared spaces Smelled musty in the room. There was no broom to clean up any messes. Apparently their smoke detectors are so sensitive hot showers or cooking set them off and then you are charged $500 for that. We didn’t set it off but we were too nervous to cook or take a hot shower.

It was not mentioned at check in that if you wanted maid service for your room you had to request it a head of time. Would have been nice to know that so I could have my room refreshed and more coffee and towels. When I did request it at the front desk they were quick to react.

Probably the worst place to stay on Jekyll Island. Room was filthy. Hair everywhere. Room smelled. We had to wipe out the dresser before placing cloths in it. Bed sheets were clean. Don't move your furniture or look underneath anything because you will find filth. They use red lights outside of rooms at night, so you get this awful red glow though the blinds! The grounds are unkept. Don't let the photos fool you. Nothing healthy offered for breakfast. Overripe bananas and wet soggy scrambled eggs. Yogurt offered came out of a squirt machine! Even the coffee was cold. We booked 4 nights and attempted to leave 2 days early. In their defense, they would have given me 1 night refund had I NOT BOOKED THROUGH HOTELS.COM! Lessoned learned. This review is 100% truthful. No kidding. I really want to make sure you don't waste your precious time and earned money for this.

Check-in was good. The property seemed nice. However, when we stepped in our room the smell was awful. We notified the front desk and someone came and sprayed a mixture of mr clean around the rooms. It did smell much better. That didn't last. I had to go purchase a candle. It smelled like mildew. Also, the sofa looked stained. I put a sheet over it so we could sit. We didn't use the appliances because they didn't look clean. There was issues with the toilet, we had to get a plunger. We will not be staying here again.

Breakfast was good, location was quiet and near a beach entrance across the street, and there was a road with a wide sidewalk next to the hotel that took you to the marsh side of the island (Only around a 1.5 mile walk). Lots of green space for taking dogs to go potty. We stayed in one of the apartment style rooms and I liked how the bedroom was separate from the living room and had a door. The kitchen didn't have an oven, though, but I don't usually stay in these types of rooms so not sure if that's common or not. I actually really enjoyed staying here.

I am not a huge complainer, but I felt like I was actually going to get sick. They said they were fully booked, so there was nothing they could do, but the manager called again later and said she would be able to change our room! Very thankful. However, the one staff member who walked us to our room was unprofessional and was on the phone (personal call) the entire time - she barely acknowledged us besides acting and treating us like we were burdening her. The second room was much bigger and had way less mold!! The location was fantastic and truly walkable to the beach (less than 5 minutes). Staff after the first night was very friendly.

The room was clean and large. We had the two bedroom suite, which worked out very well as a hub for our family staying in another room. We were able to easily make and serve meals in our room, which was very helpful. The staff was so incredibly helpful and friendly. We will definitely stay at this location again!

We had a great stay! The room was clean, in a great location, and the staff was very friendly. We really enjoyed the 2 bedroom suite, so we could spread out, and having a full kitchen was very convenient with a toddler.

My stay was perfect. The staff was helpful, breakfast options were great, the location was just steps away from the beach, and it was so nice to have a fully-equipped kitchen in my room since there isn’t a grocery store on the island. Great spot to get away from the hustle and bustle, and truly wind down.

Hotel across the street from the beach with nice walking/biking path adjacent to the beach. Quiet and comfortable. Would stay again!

pool looked nice but not heated so did not use. staff very friendly and breakfast was very inclusive with eggs, ham, potatoes as well as usual waffles, pancakes etc to make. Cereals and pastries. fruit a tad old. coffee available 24/7 at reception area plus to make in room. would stay there again. It is across road from beach but as I said considering the month we were there not an issue. After thanksgiving apparently a Christmas lighting display which we were sorry to miss since we were early. Interesting place for a short stay. If you golf and bike could be longer. We did have no see-ums on our short beach walk.

Friendly staffs, large room with kitchen that also provided cooking essentials. Separate living/sitting room. Very comfy bed, quiet and easy for taking a walk along the ocean pathway. A few restaurants nearby within walking distant. Good breakfast. Overall great stay at this place and will be back in the future.

The best Western Plus was wonderful. Clean room, helpful staff, just a walk across the road to the ocean. The only reason it’s not a 5 star is due to sensitivity of the smoke alarms. They went off 4 times during our week, and the last one was 2a.m. The front desk told us they can go off when someone takes a shower and doesn’t have the fan on. Everything else was great.

We had a great stay at the Best Western Plus Jekyll Island. The room was spotless and spacious. All the staff was super friendly and attentive. Breakfast also great, better than your usual continental b'fast. We will be back.

The staff is amazingly wonderful, courteous and accommodating!!! One could not ask for anyone nicer than these people! I can't say enough about these people. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was impressive. Very fresh and nice assortment. And very clean. A few weeks ago i stayed at a casino hotel in Cherokee. Not going to mention Harrah's name. This Best Western beat Harrah's for sure.

Front desk attendant had a difficult customer before we checked in. He yelled at her, was mean & didn’t try to understand the online reservation system she explained. She maintained her professionalism through it all.

The staff was very nice. Personally, wouldnt stay here again. Hair in shower. Carpet smelled. Didnt realize this was a pet friendly place (prob why carpets smell). Dogs next door VERY noisy, didnt stop barking for hours at night.

This is the second time we stayed at this location. Will definitely stay there again when we return to Jekyll Island.

The room was very clean. The breakfast was hot and ready at 630am. It was quiet. Parking was easy but usually full lot. Staff was helpful and always available.

One thing to keep in mind - $10 per day if you leave the island and do not return by 11:59pm. All in all, was very nice and relaxing place - definitely not a place if you want nightlife - go to St. Simon Island - 25-30 minutes away,

The property location was the only reason I would recommend staying here. The rooms are old and outdated, the property very noisy with a lot of maintenance going on. We were woken up multiple days either by trees being cut down outside or a maintenance man opening up our door to change a door lock while we were sleeping. The rooms are not cleaned unless you ask for them to and we had to get our own towels and toilet paper which they refused to deliver to our room. We loved our visit to the island, but will stay somewhere else next time.

We were so impressed with the entire property. The room updates are perfectly functional and high quality. The only flaws were that the TV defaults to max volume when powered on and the shower water press was less than preferred.

Free breakfast exceeded all expectations. All interactactions wit staff were pleasant.

Parking area was well lit and safe. Room was incredibly large, clean, smelled amazing and bed was extra comfortable. Highly impressed with the breakfast and just overall place. We will definitely be back again!

The bedroom had little hard stickers in the carpet. My grandson found 7. It hurt if you stepped on them. Made me wonder if they had vacuumed. I told the lady when I checked out and no “I’m sorry “ or anything. Also when I checked out I had to wait 20 minutes for a person to come to counter. No one in sight. The phone was ringing nonstop. Disappointed

Although this hotel isn't on the beach, it is only a 5 minute walk. Honestly, one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in! Check in was easy and took no longer than a minute or two. Will definitely stay again!

Easy access to a nice quiet beach with fantastic star gazing and nature walks. So much better than a traffic ridden crowded Florida.

Right from the moment we walked in the service was great the front desk clerk Jess was awesome so much information,the room was very spacious the rain shower was cool , breakfast was as expected. The pool was nice. We can't wait to go back.

I was impressed with the room. It was a suite and had everything you could ask for in the kitchen, even a dishwasher. This would be a place i could spend a week or more in and be completely satisfied. We were very pleased.

This hotel is newly remodeled and quite nicely done. The staff was extremely helpful with combing two bookings to allow us to stay in our same room after a last minute change of plans. The pool is great and the complementary breakfast was on the better end of the free breakfast scale. We absolutely will stay again and bring our family. The suite will be fantastic for adding our kids and grandkids to our next visit to Jekyll Island!

The atmosphere was amazing. We stay at Jekyll island all the time. We wanted to try another hotel for a suite feel and tried this one. Our room had a kitchen where roaches were coming out of the wall. I went to the service desk and asked to switch rooms and the guy who help was amazing. He immediately switched us to another suite. Our stay was fine after that and no roaches.

The staff, the room, pool and distance to the beach were all perfect. We had a wonderful time and will be back again for another vacation soon.

I likes the in kitchen suite. It was more than we needed. Couldn't put the privacy and pets in room notice on the door because they were magnets and the door is wood. Pet charge was $40 per pet per night which was excessive.

Eddie accommodated us when we requested a bathtub. Immediately, when I requested one, he found us a room with a tub. The room was spacious, clean and spot on! The bath tub was wonderful! Thanks Eddie! 🙏

The accommodations made us feel like home away from home.

Overall had a good time here. We stayed in room 224 and it was nice, very spacious room. Only problem was we had to ask 3 times for housekeeping service to change our towels as they said they always do, and we ended up having to do it ourselves.

The room had a mildew smell, coffee maker did not work, and a lack of quality lighting. Nothing stood out differently about this Hotel.

The room was near the pool so it was noisy. The room had an odd smell and needs updating. The beach was right across the street and the TV was huge. Missed not having a seating area and the carpet is not ideal for sandy feet. Outside corridors. Breakfast was great.

No WiFi working in the room. I had a 2 days booking and the next day front desk guy told me that you have only one day booking and he didn’t give me the key for next day. And after a little argue he was agree to give me the key. It was worst experience with best western plus.

The hotel looks like it has had remodeling done. The smell in the elevator was strong from paint. The pool was dirty on the 3 days we used it and outdoor furnishings need to be replaced.My main issue was the breakfast. Employees did not come out to wipe tables, refill any empty items, the eggs were terrible and cold. It seems like they would provide enough food for everyone. I guess you needed to be there at 6:30 otherwise your just left with scraps. If you went and asked the man working there did not seem happy with you.

Love love staying here always our first choice ... clean ... polite staff ... i do admit when the name changed i was wondering about the whole change as seafarer has been our place to stay ... but all that was gone the moment we checked in ... oir accommodations were perfect. I would rate a 10 if the stars were there... and yes we have been going for many years here

Beautiful facility. Beautiful pool. Negatives would be no private patios, poor lighting in the bathroom and distance from beach. However, this hotel is still very nice and provides an affordable family vacation spot on the island.

He gave us the key card to a room that was ready. It was not. An hour & half later, he gave us a new room. Just a little disappointed. The room did not disappoint. It was clean, nice decor, very comfortable. The shower was awesome.

When we walked in the room, it felt muggy and smelt horrible. The air conditioner would not come on. I called the front desk and no answer. I ended up leaving in the middle of the night due to being so uncomfortable.

This hotel is now a Beat Western Plus. It was our first time staying here, but we would stay again. We go for the bike trail, the good restaurants, and the beautiful areas, not the beach, so we don’t mind if we are not on beach front. The hotel was quiet and well taken care of. Breakfast was typical but nothing special, and that’s fine with us. The pool is large and there is a separate patio area in the back where we had our breakfast and enjoyed sitting in after dinner. Overall, this is a very nice place to stay.

The room was clean and well kept. The pool and pool area was very nice. There was a seating area out back with a XL outdoor chess game set and corn hole boards. Very relaxed atmosphere. We will stay here again. Good location. Plenty of parking.

It was a great stay over all. I would stay again for sure with the family of 8. The room was large everyone was comfy and had their own space. The property and pool was very nice & clean, family friendly. The free breakfast was very nice and plenty of options. The staff done a nice job replenishing food as needed. There was a few minor things, such as sofa bed didn't have a bag for pillow & blanket. We kindly asked front desk she was kind even brought it to our room. Housekeeping could have slowed down a bit, when opening the sofa bed there was a pile of Cheetos under it from prior guest, back missing off one of the TV remotes battery (not really a big deal) but the rest of the room was nicely clean. Oh and the kitchen had a nice coffee pot with all needed accessories (cups, sugar & cream packets) but no coffee, that could have possibly been overlooked by housekeeping as well due to it being stored under the kitchen cabinet. Luckily I was able to get a fresh cup from breakfast area.

Only issue was internet. Very poor signal. Even directtv was spotty. Could not send or receive emails

We where on the second floor which was no big deal but on our second day there the elevator broke my dad is older and doesn't do the steps well there was no bedding for the pull out bed asked for some before 10pm didn't receive anything till after midnight we tried to go back down and see if we could get bedding around 11pm and the lobby was locked and nobody could be found and when the guy finally brought the bedding after midnight he was pounding on the door like he was the fbi everyone was sound asleep it terrified everyone that was totally unacceptable when i wanted to talk to the manager the next morning i was told they where on vacation which is fine they said the regional manager was there and they would call me asap and righ the situation i said that was fine that never happened that evening i went in and asked to speak with the manager and they said he was busy he would call i said he needs to call me i have to speak with him i to this day still have not been able to talk with a manager i am so disappointed in this hotel have stayed here many times in the past and this was by far the worst i can't say i would stay here again

I had a great stay at Seafarer Inn & Suites on Jekyll Island. The location was perfect—peaceful and close to the beach. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay at The Seafarer Inn. Our suite was a good size for our family of 6. The pool was our favorite. So much nice seating around the pool and it was super kid-friendly.

The room was beautiful and spacious and the staff was incredibly accommodating to us and our dogs.

We rented the 2 bedroom suite for my daughter's 18th b-day trip. It actually exceed our expectations. It had a full size kitchen, living room with sectional couch with a pull out bed & 2 full bedrooms. We were right by the pool & literally less than a 4 minute walk to the beach on a paved pathway! Nice big room that serves free complimentary breakfast. The ONLY small complaint I may have is the fans in the bedrooms made this loud weird noise while they were on even though the fans looked brand new. Yes; we absolutely could've just turned them off. Regardless we would definitely stay here again!

Great hotel right across from the beach! Very friendly, professional & helpful staff. The room was exceptionally clean & recently renovated. Very good full breakfast. Pet friendly with large areas of grass for pets.

Studio room has plenty of space. Housekeeping needs to check cupboards when cleaning....we had beer cans from previous guests in ours.

The suite was very good for our family, and the service was good. The pool is nice and the proximity to the beach is great. The breakfast was fine. Nothing fancy but enough. Other guests did smoke in the pool area and that was unpleasant with kids. Nothing got too rowdy but a lot of drinking at the pool while we were there.

The room was clean and comfortable. However, the knobs in the shower were not operating properly and the dishwasher kept beeping even when turned off.

Great clean spacious room, only complaint i have is the water pressure in the shower wasn't good at all but other than that I will definitely stay next time im over that way. Staff is super friendly and checkin was a breeze.

Overall, it was what I expected it to be, worked out well for a one night day.

Our experience was every bit of amazing

It was ok. Location is great. 2 minutes walk to the beech. Everything else was average. Room was large enough but basic, had little natural light and as per other reviews had a background odour of damp and drains. Pool was nice. Breakfast fine but limited. Asked to have our room cleaned with 24 hour notice as they require - didnt happen. Midrange opens are limited on jekyll but if going back I would pay the extra and stay elsewhere.

The only thing I would change is the property needs a spa (hot tub). I enjoy this hotel each time I stay.

The swimming pool was clean, but the rooms were not that clean. The shower water was smelly, and there were flies all around the property. The location was good.

When you're used to staying at a 4-5 star this is sub par. Noise at 7am (landscape) on a saturday is unacceptable. Constant pounding of hammers throughout the day..not sure if this is the right time for renovations when people are trying to get away to relax. Poor timing on Mgmnts behalf. No one answered the phone half the time. Will not stay again.

For the price and location on a great island it was a great fit for our family. The carpet in the bathroom had a bit of an odor to it as the days went on, the front desk often had no one there or a long line and some workers were way more helpful than others, check in was interesting. The room had some great things and some sttange things. The shower hardware needs updated, had issues with syopper, and were warmed about taking hot showers that might set off sensitive fire alarms yet if you didnt turn it to hot you got no water pressure. The room is very spacious and again location couldnt be beat if you are looking for a quiet beach option. The breakfast was pretty good also. Daughter enjoyed the pool and there are plenty of spray off stations returning from beach or entering pool.

Breakfast is a nice bonus and ifs a step above most continental hotel breakfasts. The king two bedroom is a great value with tons of room! We put two babies in the kitchen in pack and plays, 2 adults and child slept in the “twin room” which is actually 2 FULL size beds. 2 adults in king room.

Very nice room.

Nice staff! The room was spacious and comfortable.The only issue was not having any working channels on one of the bedroom TV and the other bedroom had one channel. We still managed to enjoy our stay!
