Hampton Inn Jacksonville Beach/Oceanfront

The entire first floor lobby area of the hotel are under heavy construction. While I completely understand the need because the hotel is very dirty and run down, the rate they are charging per night does not justify the condition of the hotel. When you add the construction on top of the hotel feeling and looking very poorly maintained, the experience was terrible. The pool was very dirty; the pool tile/walls had a black line showing where the sides had not been properly cleaned in a very long time. There were very large holes in the pool decking where the concrete was coming off. If it had not been that we were there with a group for an event, I would have taken my family somewhere else and refused to stay there. Again, the price point per night at nearly $400 for a standard 2 queen room is insane! Stay somewhere else!

My family and I enjoyed our stay here. The pool is super fun for kids.The bartenders Jeremiah and Anna at Tides Tiki Bar really made our experience even more enjoyable! Please visit them at the outside bar if you visit here. I would definitely recommend staying here!

The pool and beach access were amazing! The restaurant was good and very convenient. I wish we would have been notified about the construction within the lobby. Outside of that, the rooms were clean, nothing special but clean.

Little kids in the hot tub, even though signs state under 18 not allowed. Parents not watching kids by the pool. We had a wonderful time at the beach. Love being right on it.

The view, the pool and waterfall, the poolside food, and waterfront. The beds are soft for the most part. We like the varied lighting options and multiple outlets. Found a used cigar in the sofa bed when we undid the folding section to set up our son for bedtime. We threw it away and wiped the area down. The toilet backed up but we were able to tell maintenance as soon as it happened.

While the property was nice, the desk manager that we encountered was so incredibly rude, condescending and unprofessional, gave us the absolute runaround and would not allow us to check in at 3:20pm when check-in is at 3. He stated our room was not ready, he had no idea when it would be ready, and would not give an inkling as to when we should return to check in. My family, including active military back stateside from overseas, planned a nice weekend at the beach… which was ruined by the staff at this hotel. So unfortunate. The staff can completely ruin an experience. I’ve never had an issue with Hilton hotels in the past but I will never stay at a Hilton again after this. This experience is also something I have share with all our military connections such as Blue Star Families, Parent groups, the local VA and other affiliates of our military veterans. I do not care how “nice” or “fancy” your hotel is, the staff should know and do better. Especially for being charged $750 for a 2 night stay at a Hampton Inn. Never again will we use Hilton.

Rooms were very clean though sloppily painted and put together. Staff were mostly pleasant. Construction was going on in the main lobby during the breakfast hours and was very unpleasant for my 3 and 4 year old as they held their ears while the crew was using hammer drills to remove tile and it didn’t seem to be a concern for the staff. The pool was nicely kept.

We absolutely love this property. It was the second time we have stayed. The entire setup is awesome between the pool, bar, restaurant, walk to the beach, breakfast area, location, etc etc. The room was clean. the balcony is perfect. The only complaint is the small parking area can be hard to find parking in at times.

We booked a specific room on the first floor through hotels.com and even confirmed it with the hotel just to be told the first floor including the gym was inaccessible due to remodeling. We needed first floor access and the gym and paid for such. The selection to book that room shouldn’t have been available and the gym shouldn’t have been listened as an amenity.

Everything was perfect! The location, the staff, the breakfast, pool and hot tub, parking and the walk to the beach. The commute for food was also easy or you can eat at the hotel. I enjoyed my stay and cant wait to come back.

Awesome pool. Nice employees and great location. The AC thermostat in the room is weird, has a mind of its own can’t really regulate the temp in the room. And the zero smoking even vapes on the balcony sucks. I’d pay small smoking fee to be allowed to smoke on balcony occasionally. The breakfast could be better but it’s free.

The facility was well managed, maintained, and had very capable and friendly staff. The pool was fantastic, the workout room was one of the better ones I have used at a hotel. The only improvement i would recommend would be to the breakfast offered and area. It met our needs, but could be improved to elevate the experience at the facility. Overall we had a wonderful experience at the facility and would be happy to visit again.

Nice hotel and a bit pricey. Charged $75 pet fee and $18.95 (per day) to park so go ahead and add that to your bill. So one night cost $500 after pet fee and parking. I did get an awesome view of the beach though. The free breakfast is ok but you might want to skip the eggs - not good at all. The oatmeal, bagels and waffles are all good. Staff is very nice and has the usual weight room and bar and decent outdoor restauraunt.

The refrigerator was too small and the microwave was hard to get at because of being so low. The maids were good, but never gave us toilet paper we always had to ask. Had a lovely suite which overlooked the pool. Nice view, but many happy and noisy children. No exhaust fan in the bathroom, which we found strange. Staff very nice. Breakfast quite good. Suite nice and clean and comfortable. Would stay here again.

The hot tub was only warm… The restaurant had an amazing burger and the drinks were delicious☀️ Caroline in the bar was excellent!! Ann from Jamaica was also top notch customer service as was Erik who checked us in and out- always happy and ready to accommodate! Thanks for a wonderful week. Breakfast and service was great. The jets in the hot tub didn't work, and the carpet in the room was all stained. Over all it wasn't bad. Didn't like paying $20 a night for my car to be in the parking lot.

From check-in to check-out, I thoroughly enjoyed my room. From my balcony, I could see the beach and ocean. The short walk out the back door had me enjoying long walks and frequent swims.

My only complaint is my ocean view room overlooked the parking lot and the roof of a building with very loud fans running day and night…so although I could see the ocean, I didn’t want to be out in the balcony with the noise. The booking pick showed a pool/partial ocean view, not what I got. Request to not stay on the ‘north side’ when booking ocean view rooms ;)

Location was great and I loved the property. It had a pool, hot tub, free breakfast, a musician in the bar at night on the weekends and a cool tiki bar in the back. Lots of parking both near the entrance and across the street. Staff was friendly and the food was good.

This was one of the nicest hotel stays I’ve ever had with my dog. The attention to detail was incredible. From the warmest greeting at check-in, to the clean & extremely organized coffee areas, rooms and various areas throughout the hotel. My room location was perfect. If I’m ever in the area again I’ll find my way right back here!!!

I asked the manager to be moved to a room overlooking the pool, and he said we got what we paid for, and we would have to take it up with Expedia. My wife and I thought the manager was very condescending. There was a clanking metal sound outside in the parking lot all night that kept us up. We normally really enjoy this hotel, but this stay was sub par.

The carpet is old and stained. Chair stained. Slow drain in the sink. One bed was in bad shape and had broken slats possibly. Just needed renovating. Not worth $235.00 a night to me. The breakfast was awesome. I guess the heated pool, beach side, and hot tub would make up for all the renovation that were needed. It depends what is important to you.

Excellent hotel experience from start to finish. The hot tub was truly hot, very clean, and perfectly maintained. The pool was warm, not crowded, and relaxing — great temperature all around. Even the partial ocean view was gorgeous, with upscale vibes and beautiful scenery. Breakfast was top-notch with a wide variety of choices, including delicious pastries I’ve honestly never seen at a hotel at this price point. Coffee was excellent too — not the usual weak hotel coffee. The hotel felt upscale yet very reasonably priced, especially considering the location and amenities. There’s a nice restaurant downstairs, open late, with live music, which was a great bonus. Super convenient and close to the beach, shopping, and everything you need. Parking was easy and convenient. It is paid parking, but honestly worth it for how smooth and accessible it was. The staff was great — friendly, professional, and helpful. Rooms were very clean, with fresh towels, clean floors, and quiet surroundings. The balconies were clean, and the hotel overall felt calm and well-managed. Loved the large smart TV — easy to use with Netflix, Amazon, YouTube, and more. Everything worked perfectly. Overall, everything was amazing. This is one of those stays where you feel like you got more than what you paid for. Would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it.

This review is for Hampton Inn Beachfront in Jacksonville. The hotel was under active construction/renovation, which was not clearly disclosed at booking. Because of this, key things were affected, and the overall experience did not match the price. The rate was way higher compared to other nearby beachfront hotels, yet the condition didn’t justify it. Ongoing renovation made the stay inconvenient and noisy, and parts of the hotel felt unfinished. We ended up canceling and did not stay because the experience was not what was advertised. Until renovations are fully completed and pricing reflects the actual condition, I would not recommend booking here.

I’ve never been treated better from front desk staff. La’Keisha was absolutely amazing. Everyone really, housekeeping, restaurant staff, even outside in the parking lot. I was going through something and they all made me feel better. I will be back.

I booked this hotel as I have booked this location before. We were awoken at 2:30 am with people partying and slamming doors, yelling, running the halls. Also someone tried to get into our room before daylight twice. It was horrible and wont be staying here again

Called the front desk three times about noise from the room next door. No action until 12:30 in the morning when I took a recording to the front desk of the yelling and music which had continued for 2.5 hours. I was up at 5:25 am for a meeting with my contractor.

We’ve stated this hotel two years in a row. It’s located right on the beach with a wonderful heated pool with waterfall and a hot tub. They have a bar and a great restaurant in the Hotel if you’re looking for a fun, relaxing vacation that you can easily access the beach and ride bikes this hotel is great.

The hotel room was bigger than expected and the breakfast was delicious. I loved being able to walk right out onto the beach even though there was a cold front coming through. We were still able to walk the beach and soak up the sun. The pool looked really cool, and was heated but I couldn’t get in with the temperature being in the 40s. I would love to come enjoy the amenities when it’s warmer out.

The room was clean, but the bathroom and bathtub was old and could use a replacement. The staff was excellent. Breakfast had a huge variety.

The pillows smelled like wet dog and the bathroom definitely needed to be cleaned. The walls were filthy in the bathroom and the door had visible dirt on it. The tub had one long black hair on the wall. I used to clean rooms when i was 19. Its hard work and the pay is low. A clean good smelling room with q a comfortable bed determines if I return. Pay your housekeepers better. It will show in their work. I wont return. Beach access perfect though.

Overall good, but severely lacking in some areas. Half the plugs didn’t work. Couldn’t reach water controls if in the tub, and was too loose - almost scalded myself because handle moved on its own. Definitely needed some cleaning in areas. Breakfast was good.

They did not clean the room for all three days. Plus some extremely high extra fees.

As a long time, former beach resident, the staff made me feel right at home. Everything about our experience, from the ocean view and right down to the pillows and perfect bed, was top drawer. My favorite hotel on the ocean in North Jacksonville Beach.

The staff is the best! We stay here frequently, the rooms are laid out very well, nice size and easy to spread out with a family. The best pool, food, live music at the tiki bar, and a great location. Very walkable to shops and restaurants. This place is a gem.

Mattresses are less than the most comfortable but it’s a hotel, that said paying 200 or close to it a night I’m sure there are options for a changing of those to something a bit better. Personal opinion here on that subject. Plungers in the room would be great. My 7 year old clogged the toilet and to call some random maintenance person up to simply plunge it would have been embarrassing for her and given I was there with my two daughters alone I don’t want some random stranger in my room employee or not. No offense but I don’t need Someone to plunge it for me on holiday or not.

Though maintenance handled it well, the front desk staff completely disappointed us. Nothing was done to address the room downgrade or the bed bugs. To make things worse, we were charged for parking despite repeatedly clarifying at check in that we did not have a car. Front desk staff told us the manager would reach out, but we didn’t hear anything until we contacted them twice more. Unfortunately, they did not take this opportunity to make it right. So disappointing, as this is a beautiful property in a great location that I would have definitely recommended if it weren’t for this experience

Had my daughters wedding there this past weekend and Jason Rue and his staff took care of the families plus the bride and groom all weekend!! The staff was also kind to our pups as well!!

The Hampton Inn Jacksonville Beach/Oceanfront room was clean but is in need of some updating. Some of the staff was courteous while others were inattentive. The free breakfast, free parking, beach access and tiki bar were ideal. The little bonus was the 24/7 free coffee, tea and hot chocolate bar; an unexpected, pleasant touch! Overall, I’d rate the experience a bit above average.

One of our washcloths had lipstick or blood on it. The room and hotel seemed like it could all use a refresh. The bedding felt cheap. We had a pool view room and the music at the pool started before 8am.

The room was nasty. Had bed bugs. 2nd room had dead bugs on the wall. Shower was not clean and the balcony chairs had some liquid stain on it. Disappointed to say the least. We had to stay because we just drove 20 hours from NH and didn’t want to pack back up and find somewhere else.

The room was clean and nice. But we weren’t given any water in the room or at front desk upon arrival. Minimal towels. Only one wash cloth and 2 towels. One hand towel.

I wasn’t happy to find out they charged me $20.37 to park my vehicle for one night. I wish I had known that when I was pricing in hotels.

From cleanliness to friendly Service everything was great including the all-inclusive breakfast. The beds were extremely comfortable and we had a great night sleep. Pool area is fantastic and so is the hot tub, however watch yourself on those bottom grates ..I accidentally broke my toe on it because it's raised. Other than that, it was absolutely perfect.

Our room was on the ground floor just steps from the beach and the tiki bar. ALL the staff was very friendly and eager to enhance our stay. Private beaxh access is appreciated. There are no hotel chairs on the beach but you can rent them. Pool area was very clean and plenty of chairs and umbrellas. Would definitely stay again.

We come here every year and we LOVE the hampton inn. All around everything is great! Friendly staff, clean rooms, great breakfast and tiki bar in the afternoon. We rave about this place to all our friends and family!!

This was a great place to stay for easy access to the ocean and had a beautiful pool.

This was an average beach front hotel overall. Rooms were dated, with carpet having issues. That is to be expected with a beach access hotel. Was a bit disappointed the toilet paper roll upon first site had an issue and I threw it away because I did not know what was wrong with it. First room with an ocean view in my or my wife’s life, and the view was as expected, but won’t need ocean views again. Overall if you need a hotel with reasonable prices, this will be good. Oh the breakfast buffet was great. Eggs, meat, etc… I was glad I could partake of the breakfast because I need gluten free.

The location was great. Right on the beach. The breakfast was decent and free. We ate 3 nights at Brix Taphouse which was a short walk away. They had around 50 TVs for viewing sports, and a $13 ribeye steak special Friday.

Stay was great, staff excellent. Elena, the bartender in the lounge was delightful and funny. Very friendly staff. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate for our stay but it was still a fun time. This was the second time we stayed here and we will return for sure.

Beautiful property and nice staff! However, our room smelt musty and the AC was so loud, it was making a banging sound all night. Our hallway door was very heavy and squeaky and the door to the patio was also heavy and hard to open. The Tides bar was not open, and it was not stated anywhere that it was closed. We were hoping to eat there but had to find somewhere else on the beach for supper. The pool area was nice, normal wear. Overall, probably won’t be back. It just needs some TLC.

The pool is great! The beach was too windy the two days we were there. There was a storm coming in. We had a great time though hanging out by the pool. The only thing that I would say was a complaint is that parking is not included it is an additional $18.95 a day. Also just FYI they have signs posted that you can not bring coolers to the pool. We have a toddler and obviously he needs snacks ect. We brought a small cooler with some snacks and beers. No one said anything. It was a lunch box size cooler. I don’t know if they are normally strict about this or not.

The staff were very friendly, the facility was clean it, though could use a little updating, and the carpet had seen better days. Beach access was perfect and the Jax Burger and Onion rings were fantastic!

Everything was so great I’ll definitely book again

The trees kind of blocked the view unless you stood. Need to stay on the 4th floor or higher. The only complaint i have is it took forever for the hotwater to come on, the digital key wouldnt work and our physical key stopped working about an hour before check out. We got back from the hospital from an appt and was locked out at 1045. Had to get the cleaning lady to let us in to get our things. Other then that, abosultely a lovely hotel. We will be back.

We booked 2 months early when there was many room choices available. We selected Studio Suite, 1 King Bed,Non Smoking. We were allowed to check-in early. Everything was exceptional except The suite bedroom did not match the picture. There was no balcony, glass doors, or sitting area in bedroom as pictured. We had only a sealed window with a noisy ac unit. I wonder if I had booked direct with the hotel months ago if my room may have matched the photos online - there were no photos online that matched my room layout.

We rented space for our daughter's beach wedding and ended up booking a room for the weekend. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Jason, the even coordinator is amazing. He helped get our space booked for our event and checked on us throughout the entire process. We will be back real soon.

We did not ask for an ocean view but still had a great view of the ocean. We overlooked the pool and so it was a little noisy on the balcony. Room was clean and spacious.

For the price… the hotel was amazing can’t beat it right on the beach & the sunrise is absolutely amazing! Definitely will be coming back soon!

The clerk told me at checkout they did NOT know how much my bill would be - it would be on line. Thats BAD. I do not have an acct. with you - don't want one. I am an 87 yr old widow and money is tight. To pay over $300 for a short stay is NOT good. I would appeciate a refund.

The room was nice.I got a partial ocean view but it was at the expense of workman having tools and equipment next to my window and beginning to work at 830 am and being able to look in and see me and my teenage daughter in our pajamas. I notified GM and he vaguely apologized for the inconvenience and let me know the workman were great guys, as if that makes it better? When another patron heard my situation she let me know that she was nearly robbed on the beach her and her elderly husband and she felt that the hotel had not done enough to keep her safe. So just be aware this location is not thinking about it's patrons. Breakfast was 5 star. Pools 5 star. Beach 5 stars. But will not be staying here again. Also charged $20 for parking, though that was not presented in info before booking. So be prepared for that too.

Everything was prefect, except I had to request towels 3 times in person and once in the phone … the Towels never came to my room. I had to go downstairs to get them myself. First time a lady said she’ll send them up, took my room number and all. I called from the room when I got upstairs, still no towels. Same thing when I asked a gentleman at the front desk. The next day I asked and told them I’ll take them up myself. That’s when I finally got the towels. That was not very convenient having to wait for towels that never came

The staff (Carole & Carlo, especially) go above & beyond!! The pool & hot tub area is FABULOUS....&the hotel is ON the beach.....great selection for complimentary breakfast, too!! Will definitely stay there again when returning to the Mayo Clinic!!

Online states “Hampton Inn Oceanfront” , choose your room. I thought I had purchased an oceanfront room and for $453 a night I should’ve had that but instead I got a first floor room looking at a mound of mulch beside the pool. I left immediately as the staff said there was nothing they could do to change my accommodations

We spent $200 due to it being a Labor Day holiday and thought it would be a great deal but it was not! This place I am sure is making a lot of money being it is on the beach. The owner of this place needs to take some of that money and make improvements to the facility. This is a black eye regarding Hampton Inn's reputation and it should be closed for offering rooms in such terrible conditions! We wasted a lot of money for nothing staying at this place, will never visit again and will advise everyone we know not to stay at this location!

We liked it was right on the beach. There are 3 parking lots two adjacent to the hotel and one across the street. They are convenient but the $18.95 daily parking fee is nothing but a profit grab. It is unreasonable and should be no more than ten per day. The hotel pool area and breakfast area were very nicely equipped and the food choice plentiful. The room had a mildewy smell to it probably from the AC unit. The bathroom tub and ceiling had flaking paint.

Excellent property! Beds are very comfortable and rooms are very clean. Close to many things. Great pool and hot tub. Restaurant on site too!

Hampton Inn was very nice. Facility, breakfast and crew were great. Check was interesting: I loaded a luggage cart and approached the front desk. The person on staff asked “Can I help you?” Really? How about “Hi! Welcome to the Hampton Inn! Do we already have your reservation?” Training would help. Also, the room dis not smell nice. Easy fix. Not sure how a hotel misses on that one these days. We were given a 12:00 check late checkout, but found out we need a little additional time. But we were (happily) told it was not possible. When a staff was a culture of caring for their customers, it shows at every turn. Hampton Jacksonville falls just a little short.

Service was really good at the Hotel. I had a chicken salad in the tiki restaurant on the beach, and it was amazing! Great service at the restaurant.

Family-friendly hotel that is right on the beach! Helpful staff that always says good morning and has a smile. Especially nice that there is coffee, tea, and hot chocolate around the clock and a four-hour breakfast window that accommodates early-rising parents and the teens that want to sleep in. Breakfast has many options including the waffle makers, eggs, cereals, oatmeal, yogurt and breakfast pastries.

First of all, the staff was the best part of this hotel. Extremely friendly and nice, and very helpful. Second, the pool is outstanding, as well as the proximity to the beach. If you get a room with a beach view, you won't be disappointed by the wonderful view, as you listen to the waves crash over and over. However, the overall state of the hotel is a bit lacking. Stayed on floor 6, and the smell in the hallway by the ice machine was terrible. Maybe they let too many dogs poop on the carpet, maybe the ice machine has mold, but our first impression was that smell and it was terrible. The carpet was also noticeably stained, probably from pets I would assume. Once we get into the room, you could only barely smell it, but I do recommend bringing a bit of febreze. Overall 4 stars, if they get that part of the experience fixed it would be 5.

We had a very impromptu stay at this hotel and while it’s not the ‘newest’ as far as the rooms go, it was very clean and the staff were AMAZING! Very professional and super prompt to ANY request we had. We will def be back! The pool is the best!!

I was in town as my father passed away. The staff was very accommodating and went above and beyond to answer my questions and help me with additional family visiting for the day.

It was safe and quiet.. The staff was extremely friendly. Easy access to the beach.

The front desk folks were not very friendly and reminded me a bit of the police when it came to wrist bands for the pool. Stated that if I didn't have it on, they would come out and ask for me to put it on. Just not a very friendly tone about them at all. It felt like we were bothering them each time we approached them.
