I only like the bathroom and the bed but the smell i still cant not get over it. would not recommend to anyone!!!! this particular location needs major update, while the bed is comfortable, the whole hotel from the lobby to our room, the carpet is very old like 50 years looking and smelly so disgusting. our experience with any hotel by Mariot has been nothing but excellent! this should be abandoned building or upgrade it. bathroom l;ooked like they did some facve lifting job which is not too bad & was clean. I only like the bathroom and the bed but the smell i still cant not get over it. would not rtecommend tyhis area for nobody!!!!!!

Since my husband had surgery at Townsen Memorial, we couldn’t have picked a better location. It was the perfect location because it is just across the street from the hospital. I loved the room. It was a big room & very clean. My only complaint is that something was wrong with the water pressure. When taking a shower, I lost water pressure & then when it gained back the water pressure, the water would be scalding hot. The free breakfast was delicious. Overall, I would stay there again!

Traveling with my daughter & grandson. The Staff (Cristian) was very accommodating! We arrived earlier than expected and they allowed us to check in early with no problems at all. Room was nice and bed were comfy. A few little things could be improved like the drawers kept opening on their own and the privacy window for the work desk shaked and was noisy every time you walked by it. But we were sooo exhausted & jetlagged it didn't really matter to mention & try to get a different room. The pool was nice and clean with towels provided as well. Breakfast was good. Dining area was clean & spacious. It was nice they had a bar/lounge area but we didn't take advantage due to time only staying for one night. Very pleased with our stay and would stay here again.

The indoor pool was not enjoyable at all. It was too cold. My daughter and her boyfriend stayed in it for about an hour but ended up getting out and getting sick due to it being so cold. The hot tub didn’t even work. The rooms we had were great and so clean so that was a big plus. The front office staff were very amazing and so friendly especially Tiki.

Walls very thin - was kept up in middle of night for 2 hours with loud talkers next room and could hear another room clearly through vent in bathroom. Shower had little pressure and random bursts of scalding hot water. Conditioner empty and hair dryer had only cold air (I am sure they would have switched, but cleaning crew could easily check status of these things) Pull out bed was not comfortable. Breakfast hours 6:30-9:30 - at 9:15 I was scraping the bottom of the oatmeal and 2nd day eggs were gone - they were powdered eggs and not great. Also no milk (there was some oat milk) for cereal. Cleanliness fine, gym was small, but clean and nice - all equipment worked, staff was very nice.

This facility is exactly as represented - friendly staff, excellent accommodation, delicious breakfast in short I liked everything and was amazed at the amazing value for the price!!! I travel quite a lot and have never seen a better value!!! There was not a dingle thing I didn't like!!

The pool I would rate this hotel a lot better if it had a better pool and a hot tub. The pool sucked and is the absolute only thing I hated about my stay.

The room was clean and spacious, the staff was very friendly, and the hotel was upscale and modern, and the location was very convenient for our event and near many eateries and coffee shops. It’s not a very big deal, but our bathroom door did not lock and the fan didn’t work. The bathroom door was frosted, and so if you got up in the dark to use the restroom, the light would shine into the entire room.

I then went down to the clerk who opened the kitchen and got some ice the next morning as I was leaving I decided to get some ice from the area where breakfast was served. There was no ice there either.

Pool was a joke and freezing cold. I specifically searched for properties with indoor pool so my kids would have something to do in this cooler weather. I think the pool is 12x12 the entire depth of pool was 3 feet. Breakfast was limited And they keep running out of food. I stayed two day and both days they had same breakfast.

Hair in food lied about deposit took 140 instead of 100 staff making water for guests with hand extremely horrible customer service

The location and the safe environment. Lack of fresh water in the room especially at night when I didn't want to go downstairs to buy some bottle water. I tried to find something to heat the water, anything that works, but only found a coffee machine which is totally not suitable for me (coffee is forbidden for some medical reasons). I had to tolerate extreme thirsty during that night. Managed to survive till next morning and bought a lot more bottles of water and store them in my room. That is the most horrible part of my stay I would say.

The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. We did have an accident happen. My daughter flushed the toilet and it overflowed. We had toilet water all over the bathroom floor. We did call the front desk to let them know and when we came back later that day it was cleaned up. The pool is not heated and I wish I knew that before booking. It was cold and they over did it with the chlorine. My eyes were burning and the fumes were very strong. It was a little disappointing since that was the only reason why I booked at this hotel for my kids to enjoy the pool. It did feel safe. We had no issues with safety. It’s very close to China town so that was nice.

Really nice but house keeping is every other day unless you let them know. The ac in our room was not working although they came to fix it the next day as we noticed this late in the night when we got home at 1am and we were too tired to move rooms. Other than that it was a nice stay.

The first room I went to, the shower floor was nasty and the tv didn’t work. The staff was very accommodating, they switched rooms after maintenance couldn’t fix the tv, then the fridge didn’t close. Maintenance ended up switching out the fridge as well. Both rooms have the same old musty smell, I had to but my own fresheners to block the odor. My room was right by the elevator so I heard it ding all day and night. Only 1 elevator worked the entire time & the walls are thin I heard kids screaming and running in the halls day and night.

It was great check in was easy . There was nobody at the front when I walked in but I don’t have to wait to long for someone to come to the front desk . My room was very clean and comfortable the only thing is that it had a musk smell I don’t know what that was about . Umm I left my toothpaste and when I asked the front desk they ran out so that was inconvenient. Other than that hotel was nice food was great . I will book here again

The sort of negatives: Front desk was not unfriendly but not overly friendly either. She didn’t help me get my Bonvoy points added or explain if I could. Just sort of ignored the topic and didn’t give any parking tips at all. Super horrible smell in the elevator when we first got there but it was gone when we left for dinner. The ice machine on my floor wasn’t working the first day or the next morning, so I think it was broken. Hard bed. Comfy pillows.

I visit Houston a couple of times a month and usually stay at the Doubletree across the road. However, this time the Doubletree was fully booked, so I decided to try this hotel. Unfortunately, this hotel has been poorly maintained. The room I stayed in had poor air conditioning, and the shower was held together by caulking. There is also never any hot water for a shower; the best you get is lukewarm. The rooms are large, but I would much rather have a clean, properly functioning room.

I chose this property specifically for the indoor hot tub and included breakfast. Upon arriving I was informed the hot tub was permanently filled in OVER 2 YEARS AGO- meaning the hotel has been dishonest with booking agencies (like expedia) about it's amentities- I think there was even a picture of the hot tub if I remember. The continental breakfast had the WORST powdered eggs I think I've EVER had and besides those and old boiled eggs your other options are only carbs. The maid took our bar soap on day 1 and didn't give us any more until day 4 but left us dirty surgical gloves on our bedroom floor in exchange. Besides a comfortable bed and a very nice front desk staff this hotel is NOT worth the money!!!

1. The sofa pull out bed had stains on it so my niece has to sleep on top of the sofa overnight instead. 2. My sister is in a wheelchair and was unable plug her c-pap machine next to her bed because none of the outlets were working. Instead, we had to use an extension to plug it in a socket under the table. 3. The breakfast was lackluster. The eggs were covered cold, my significant other almost bit into a rotten/spoil banana and although the waffle machine was out, we were informed that the waffle batter door was broken and that it was not available for use. I had high hopes of my visit at the Marriott based on my past experiences but this visit and location really let me down.

However, the cleanliness of the rooms are needed to improve asap. The sofa should be replaced. The first room I check in. The sofa bed mattress is stinky and smelt. It is horrible. When I step in the room, it is smelt. I am wondering if someone was smoking before. However, I booked non smoking room. The staff switch me to the other room immediately.

Staff was very nice; manager himself talked to me as I was checking out and asked me how everything was; I liked that. Room was spacious. Bathroom had a very small shower, no tub. Breakfast was satisfactory....coffee, juice, bagels, cereal, eggs and sausage.

There was hair on the bathroom wall. The bathroom door was broken it almost fell on top of me.

Everything was good except the staff cleaned and threw my stuff away before we even checked out. They gave us a scare and we had to chase after them to get our stuff back.

i originally booked for a one night stay on a Friday night but then rebooked online for Sat night as well. When i checked in at the fron desk on Friday evening, i had already paid for my Friday night stay online and they told me i would need to come back Sat morning to check in for the Sat night stay, which i did the following morning. When i returned to me room Sat evening at 7 PM, all be belongings were gone and the room had been cleaned. I called the front desk and asked them why my stuff was gone. She checked with house cleaning and she told me there was nothing left in lost and found for my room and not one had seen my stuff. I asked to talk to the manager and she said the manager was not there and i would need to talk to her in the morning. When i talked to the manager the next morning, she said she wasn't there over the weekend so had no idea what was going on. She checked with house cleaning and she said the only thing that was returned from my room was my phone charger. I know what i left in my room and everything was missing except the phone charger, so whoever made my room only returned my phone charger for some reason

Sunday morning loud mowers and blowers going along side hotel. Construction project in front of gym. gym closed. Project work during breakfast time made it impossible to eat there. Took breakfast to room.

This hotel did not meet my expectations even though it had a great customer rating. We were greeted by a staff member that had no facial expression and looked like we got in her way at check in. Later when requesting towels since our room did not have enough we got the same response. The guest bathroom downstairs in the main area was extremely dirty and smelled horrible. The elevators and hallways also smelled horrible. Our room had a pull out couch which we needed. When we pulled it out, the mattress was stained and dirty. We stayed two nights. I will say that the staff the second night and morning of check out was much friendlier and the smell was gone by the last morning. According to my family the best part of the stay was breakfast each morning. I would not book this hotel again.

A very nice facility with friendly staff. Unfortunately we had no hot water in our room. After contacting the desk late our first night we were offered another room but we had all ready unpacked and settled in. The manager did remove the charge for our first night which was fair. The breakfast was tasty but the food and coffee were only lukewarm. I don’t think this property lives up to Merriott standards.

Very clean room. Friendly staff and very quiet area. The included breakfast was a downer. Eggs were watery with no taste.

Drake was incredible. Customer service from him is a 5 star. He took care of everything that we needed. Breakfast area was great. Would have been nice if they had a hot tub. Water in the pool was too cold. Nice water pressure and A/C was spot on.

Everything looks good, accept one thing: around 11:15 am, one cleaner opened my room for cleaning (I guessed), even though we haven’t checked out yet, I was taking the shower, then she just walked away with out any explanation.

I had called the day of before booking to see if they had a pool and hot tub & if they were both opened, to which I was told yes to. I was disappointed upon just 6 short hours later (after driving for 10 hrs), finding out the heater was out and the hot tub had been closed for more than a week when earlier in the same day I specifically asked and they said yes and also said it was open when I asked. So unfortunately I canceled my stay there and found an alternative for the remainder of my trip. Aside from that, the feel of the room, overall layout was nice. I was more focused on finding an alternative I didn't get to enjoy my stay.
