Stayed for one night. Room was clean. Check in/out process was effortless. The coffee in the morning was suprising great.

Found small pieces of trash on the floor in my room - crumbs, straw wrapper, styrofoam pieces.

Second room the toilet wouldn't flush. Third room no ac working. Finally good with fourth room.

This is a very dirty hotel. Mold on the walls, paint coming off, and the toilet didn’t flush. Do not stay here

When we got in the floor was very slippery.. like someone tried to mop up oil with dirty mop water.. it was gross. 0/10.

my partner and i were amazed at how the room is literally a mini apartment! amazing amazing staff and flexible accommodations! we made note that they’re pet friendly as well, we could’ve brought our cats as well! we joked about if there was an air fryer included, we’d rent! the elevator is a bit scary and a mini sauna, we preferred the stairs over the elevator. in a way, we got more steps in because of it!

The room was very shabby and dated and there was a really bad smell like cat pee It could have been cleaned and refreshed better, refurnished new carpets and updated.

The property is in need of significant upgrades. The shower was particularly disappointing—most of the water flowed down from the faucet instead of the showerhead, making it difficult to use properly. The refrigerator was functional but clearly outdated and in need of replacement. Another downside was the TV service, which relies on satellite, so it stopped working entirely during rainy weather. Overall, the stay was let down by these maintenance and amenity issues.

Accessibility, easy to get in and out away from freeway traffic, clean room and facilty, and lastly friendly staff all contributed to a comfortable short stay. Oh did I mentioned the weekend rate was nearly 50% that of nearby competitors, Incredible! ☆☆☆☆☆

The room was clean and looked like the picture but there was a very unpleasant smell of mold or something coming from the air conditioner. The location is convenient and the price was great. It appears that they may be in the midst of renovating so that may have had something to do with the smell but it was really bad. I ended up checking out early and lost money but I just couldn't take it.

Room was large. Coffee offered in the lobby is horrible. Vary basic hotel, room is only cleaned after checkout. Trash stacks up outside the door to the covered patio daily. Ok for a very short stay but not for a week.

Good location, good value for money, but a bit run down. Staff were friendly and helpful so when the ceiling in our bathroom started leaking from above, it was quick and easy to get moved to a new room.

Dirty underwear in the room and used soap in the shower. No room change. No housekeeping over 4 days despite multiple requests. Stay elsewhere.

Room was clean and kitchen was clean and everything was there to cook with. The only thing I had a problem with was the toilet, it was very short. Everything else was fine and the staff was nice and friendly.

I arrived/check in almost at 12 and when I received the room the walls were so thin that I had to sleep listening to the couple next room argue all night. And top of that I the only thing that was separating the rooms was a door! The mattress was the worst and even the bedsheets smelled so bad. I didn’t talk to anyone because I arrived late almost 12am I was exhausted

Overall the room was good for the price however my particular room was slightly outdated in my opinion. Some of the furniture was peeled and the smell in the room was odd. There is a heavy presence of animals and people definitely live here so not sure if this is a shelter of some sort also doubling as a hotel. Staff was great.

Was woken up at 11:30 from yelling in the hallway. Then 12:30 from more yelling followed by over 2 hours of police activity right outside my room. Did not fall back to sleep after 3. Dog poop on the hallway walls in the morning. Room phone not working so couldn’t call the front desk.

I'd prefer to stay in a bigger Airbnb close to Downtown next time, cost quality almost the same. No Breakfast

Loved it was a quick walk to city centre.

All staff interactions were pleasant, above and beyond in fact. Very large and tidy suite. Non-smoking as advertised. Neighborhood is very well maintained and feels safe.Great shower pressure and tub drains well. Nice reclining chair. Great room darkening curtains. Very good wi-fi. Laundry room major bonus with many machines. My fridge was older and loud when running. Would definitely seek this place out again. Plus, The Pit BBQ is walking distance.

I enjoyed the comfort and the quiet. Staff was friendly and always greeted us when we passed the lobby. There is clothing stuck behind the bottom drawer in the chest by the TV. Someone's items slipped back there during their stay and housekeeping missed it. We noticed it because the drawer would not close and it was quite annoying.

The only issue was the loud noise of the fridge at night and also the fact that the fan, even if off, was at times just switching on and making extra noise. This would happen also at night. I am lucky I am deep sleeper, but for people with light sleep, this could be an issue

I had doubt because of the reviews. But the reviews were not as accurate from the stay that I had. My room was clean and comfortable. Appliances and the kitchenette are updated and well stocked for cooking and eating. I loved the office desk/table set. It was good for my work and eating area I didn't like that the shower and faucet ran at the same time and the water. The shower curtain rod need to be updated. Also the carpet in the hall way need an upgrade.

Nothing Everything under construction. All hallways filled with remodelling materials. Smell of chemicals everywhere from remodeling. Paper covering carpet in all hallways. Stairs closed off. Inside of room smelled moldy. I had to leave a day early without refund. This hotel should not be open for business during all of this major work being done.they should not be accepting customers untill renovations are complete.

Enjoyed my stay at this property. My first room was clean but it had a mild odor so I had to immediately ask to get another room. The second room was clean as well but it also had an odor. Once I cracked the window open and sprayed some air freshener it wasn't that bad. It just smelled like an old room or maybe mold from the AC. But it was quiet and the front desk staff is very nice and courteous. The hotel is in a great location and there's plenty of room for people with pets to walk around and allow them to play. I would definitely stay again. Smell of the rooms.

Nothing This was our second time staying at this hotel. The hotel rooms are very dated but this property is always under construction. Parking lot renovations which caused an inconvenience to guests having to move their vehicles from front to back and then back to front multiple times. Loud construction noise on a room nearby on an early Sunday morning. Police were called by different individuals 3 times to this location during our stay. DEFINITELY would not recommend this property and will not stay again.

Location was good, two long blocks to a nice open mall. Note that there is an early check in fee of $25 was new to me. No breakfast, I thought there was so that is on me for not confirming that. Look at other choices is my recommendation, you can probably do better for a few extra bucks.

How/why in the world would they think that paint pales, trash, and loose construction matters just splayed out in customer egress areas is a good and safe look? Even with new construction at this hotel, they had everything well-maintained and cleaned. Parking is tough for anything over the side of a pick up truck at this time due to new construction, but they will accommodate.

I changed rooms my second night. Only one, but one is enough for me. A small cockroach on the kitchen counter. At 5.30 am, the neighbor above me was going somewhere, pacing back and forth. I assume getting ready for work. If you have a budget and must stay in City Center, this is the place.

My room was connected to another room. The walls were so thin, I heard the person in the next room's conversation. I could not get any rest. I checked out at 10:30 p.m. the same night I checked in. The facilities and amenities were severely outdated. The exterior had white paint on the walls, that made it look unapproachable and questionable. I would stay at this hotel chain again.

Staff was SUPER helpful and very nice.

Not very clean and did not have hand soap only bar soap. Drab on inside. However, it was in a good location.

The only odd thing was the toilet. I'll politely say that the bowel was too shallow for males. My overall room/ staff experience was great. And, they de-magnatized my door keys in my presence (avoiding identity theft potential).

Upon checking out, I flushed the toilet—and to my surprise, both the bathroom and kitchen flooded. Unfortunately, some of my personal items were damaged in the process. I doubt there will be any compensation or effort to replace them. Oddly, on the day I was leaving, housekeeping kept knocking repeatedly to clean the room, despite the fact that I had requested room service throughout my stay and never received it. That felt a bit ironic. Also worth noting: my door was completely off its hinges and wouldn’t close properly unless I physically lifted it by the handle to shut it. That alone made the room feel neglected and unsafe. You really do get what you pay for. I had hoped that staying in a nicer area would mean better room quality, but that wasn’t the case here. On a positive note, Cristina (or possibly Caroline) who checked me in on the first day was absolutely wonderful—professional, warm, and helpful.

Got to room and was not in room type reserved. Went to front desk, there was another clerk who said she was changing room. Received another room when got in room, we didn't have any dish soap nor face towels. Called twice the next morning to request dish soap and face towels. It took nearly 3.5hrs to receive towels only. The elevator smelled of dogs along with 2nd floor hallway. When checked out. I was charged for an upgrade. I WILL NEVER RETURN BACK. THIS IS WORST EXPERIENCE EVER FOR A SONESTA. WE STAYED HERE BECAUSE IT WAS CLOSE TO THE VENUE WE ATTENDED AND THE SONESTA SUITES IN AUSTIN REMINDED US OF THE ROYAL SONESTA WE'VE STAYED IN! I believe the reveiews are not real. When staying somewhere new we always read reviews. Your reviews are falsified. A waste of $$$

After a delayed flight, my husband arrived just after midnight and when checking in notice, the only thing clean about the room was the bed. He ended up washing the floors himself and said the rag was black from dirt and grime. Because it was so late, he took a shower, layed a towel on the floor next to the bed to put his feet on in the morning, and ended up sleeping in his clothes and packed up the next morning and requested a check out. By no means would I call my husband squeamish or seeking perfection when it comes to hotel stays. I was surprised because the hotel had such great reviews. I was able to get him booked into another hotel for the rest of his work trip.

The front desk person was so nice. She gave me a first floor room because the elevator was broken. My room had a very strong smell like it was covering up something. The bathtub stopper didn’t work and I saw a roach crawling on the floor and a dead spider stuck to one of the towels. There was a group of men hanging out in the parking lot in a mini Van drinking. My plans got canceled unexpectedly and I left. The smell was giving me a headache. It was that bad. For $130 I expect more. This felt like a $70 hotel. The bed did look nice and was comfortable.

Staying at the hotel was very relaxing, considering I-10W’s construction and lane closures. I want to pack the bed up and take it with me….All in all, we’d definitely stay here again. Kitchenette was perfect! And the evening manager, Dee was very pleasant and accommodating.

I didn’t like that there was a deposit that wasn’t told to me until I got there then I had which rooms cuz the one I was given was next to 4 different rooms that had dogs and I don’t mind dogs but that was just to much…then they refused to give me a receipt when I left…I just didn’t appreciate a lot of stuff and was very disappointed and will not go back…

Property/housekeeping claim that my boyfriend was smoking because the smoke the detector was already out of place and was under the reclining chair prior to entering room. it was also ashes all around and on top of the air conditioner. But because we didn’t say anything once we requested the room to be clean… the housekeeping lady walked in with her phone taking pics we’re at fault and had to leave early/no refund. Plus was charged $250 fee.

We love this property and stay every time we’re in Houston! Easy access, safe area, amazing staff and cozy, comfortable beds! We love the kitchenette which allows us to keep some of our coats down. They have a new program (since we were there last - loaner kitchen appliances! It really expanded our meal preparation options!

Nothing worked starting with the elevator then the rooms have a kitchenette for no reason nothing to cook with a total waste of money

It was fine,just a quick over night stay.

Very outdated with dirty lamp shades and ripped, old furnishings. Half of our towels had hair in them. Smells old and shower head was so bad it was hard to shower.

On behalf of my mom and brother who stayed while mom was receiving treatment at the hospital, the staff was absolutely incredible! Dee and Mari (I sure hope I'm getting these names, right) are so sensitive and caring. They helped with a better room location when she couldn't walk well and assisted with a needed care package. Thank you so much!

Terrific location near City Centre. Very quiet surroundings. Very clean and comfortable property. I really enjoyed my stay.

The hotel is comfortable and quiet. A good location. The hotel is older, and could use some updates.

Sheets were dirty and stain. Bugs were found in the kitchen. Doesn’t served breakfast. Room only get clean once a week.

Hotel is convenient however, our one night stay required additional cooling… a personal fan was provided.

Just a an average facility

The pictures on Expedia for this property look way newer and different than what i experienced in person. The lobby was small and the snack area was behind the desk and not set up like the pictures I saw. The hallways had a faint smell of smoke. Some appliances in my room were older looking then what was shown in the picture. The staff was helpful and very nice. The location is great and very convenient.

Refrigerators are inoperable and there’s No breakfast as advertised

Unfortunately the positive online reviews didn’t come anywhere close to matching the actual experience myself and all of my colleagues experienced when staying here for a work event. I had to move into 4 rooms over my 4 night stay because of the poor condition of each room for different reasons each day. The first room on the first night was the first room in the entrance of the hotel since the hotel was booked. The light from the entrance came under the door and lit the room all night. Additionally, the refrigerator and air conditioning unit made loud inconsistent noise all night. The next night I asked to be moved to a 2nd room only to find out that the water only came out of the bath faucet and not out of the shower head. The floors were sticky and dirty, the toilet roll holder fell off the side of the vanity, blue masking tape held the mirror in place but they didn’t have another room to move me to. The 3rd night, they finally had a room they could move me to on the 2nd floor. I got into the room to find a large cockroach running across the bed. I immediately asked to move to yet a 4th room where I was finally able to get some sleep. Beware of positive reviews and stay away until they completely renovate this place. The friendly staff was the only thing that could be positive.

It was a nice area. Staff was also very friendly. However, you can tell this hotel is older and not as nice as it showed on the pictures through Expedia. It also smelled a lot like cigarettes which I don’t like. Will I stay around the area? Yes, definitely! Will I stay at this hotel again? No.

Dirty smoky room!!! Sweet staff!

My stay was actually not bad at all. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.

The hotel was in a very convenient location which was great for my trip to Houston. The staff was very pleasant and my room was fine. There were several time when a man (or men) were hollering "MARION" down the hallway several times the second night I stayed there. The person above me was stomping around all night long, very disturbing. I probably wouldn't stay again for those reasons.
