Hyatt Place Houston Medical Center

HORRIBLE STAFF! Refused to ask pool patrons to quiet the music so people can sleep. Had to call police. Overpriced food. Did not read or respect allergy requests. Bad Place!

Breakfast was fresh and plentiful even on BUSY mornings. Pool area, fitness center are absolutely a hidden gym compared to other hotels in the area. Absolutely will stay again Cons: parking garage/self parking is extra (i believe was $18/night) Must check in by parking on the street before you can park. Leaving your vehicle in an ACTIVE lane of traffic.

AVOID!!! Horrible! Loud! Rude staff!!!! Dirty counters, old tissues. Took five hours to get room. Pool area and whole place is a NIGHTMARE! Stay anywhere else but there.

Excellent location, cleanliness and safety. Great for families! The breakfast is decent and there is enough seating for all. The pool is not huge and can get crowded. It does have a bar though.

Breakfast was good, and the hotel location was convenient for MD Anderson. The room was large and nice. All personnel were kind and helpful. The shuttle was crowded on the trip to the hospital. We tried to use it on the way back, but when I called the driver, she said there would be a significant wait because she was already full and had even more people waiting ahead of me. We had to pay for an Uber. Maybe invest in a larger shuttle or more of them. The hospital is a major source of your revenue, so make us cancer patients happy. The carpet in the hallway near our room was very stained.

The front desk clerk was genuinely welcoming. It is very close to MD ANDERSON and all the other hospitals as well. The parking was easy and the fee was $18.00 per night which is online with area parking rates. Breakfast was excellent and that saved us easily $35 or more each day too. We will continue you to book this hotel as I will be going to MD ANDERSON frequently for the next 5 years!

Our room was very clean and had all the amenities needed. The staff were very attentive and helpful. We needed extra towels and they were delivered to our room very quickly. The pool/hottub area were nice and clean. Fresh hot towels were provided, there was a cornhole game for the kids to play and 2 separate seating areas with fire pits. Would recommend this place and will be staying here again.

We had a really pleasant stay😊. The hotel was very nice, clean, modern, and comfortable, and the location was extremely convenient. My kids especially loved the fruit options at breakfast, which was a big plus for our family. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming. The rooms and common areas were well maintained, and we truly enjoyed our time there. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Houston.

Nice hotel. Check in was a bit rough though. There's no front entrance to pull your car up to unload. I had to pull over in the next block to ask how to check in. You go to the parking garage and press the button for a ticket. You don’t need to keep the ticket though. You'll be charged a nightly $18 parking fee. Park on the 3rd floor or higher. Your room key will let you in and out of the parking garage. Keep one of your room keys to get out when you leave then drop in the slot after the arm goes up. Breakfast was good. The hotel was quiet even though it was full. Front desk staff was courteous but always had a line to wait.

This is a great option for your family stay. The only thing is that because is bear hospital zone some nights you’re hearing the ambulance sirens… but other than that is a excellent choice.

Front desk was very helpful. Cleaning staff could put a bit more effort into the floors. The bathroom tile was visibly dirty, the hotel room floor left my socks filthy, and the shower floor felt slick. The free laundry feature was VERY useful, although I found the appliances a little outdated--they worked! Staff could also work on cleaning the appliances as well, some of the machines smelled or had visible remnants of past visitors dirt and grime on the glass. There is no street parking and garage parking is almost 20/night but that is pretty standard.

I checked in on April 30th Thurday afternoon. It is their policy that after a two night stay you receive listed housekeeping services which include towels. I csm back to the hotel Saturday evening no housekeeping service. I called the lobby and let them know no one tended to the room. I requested towels that night, nothing! I called again Sundsy Morning and the person I talked with brought them up. When I checked out trash cans were full and no amenities were replaced.

There could been a better selection for breakfast! The FRONT DESK assistant manager or manager the guy is HORRIBLE and has absolutely no customer service. Chelsea was great. You request for them to clean your room but good luck if they even do it. Outdoor pool area is beautiful should utilize the bar that they have out there more.

Comfortable, clean place to stay after long days at the NRG Center for basketball tourney. Convenient shuttle to NRG Park, only wish they had extended hours. Breakfast was well stocked during high traffic times; front desk staff was kind enough to fill water bottles each day before we left.

The hotel had wonderful beds, bedding, pillows, etc. they also had a very nice laundry room. Breakfast was good everyday. The staff was very helpful. My only disappointment was not getting coffee replenished everyday.

Location is fantastic, but beds were so uncomfortable and pillows flat. We struggled to get comfortable. We also did not get turnover service at all during the 3 night stay. We left at 10am and returned after 5pm, and nothing. The staff was cleaning room next door and we asked why ours wasn't done. They checked a tablet and apologized, but seems like they just skipped it. We just asked for extra towels. Given the price I expected more. Breakfast was fine, but not great. No waffle makers. We got soggy eggo waffles one day.

The proximity to medical facilities. They even have a shuttle. This time around the shuttle hadn't started their rounds so the hotel paid for complimentary Uber rides to and from the medical facility. Nothing, we live staying here everything we come for appointments.

The beds were very uncomfortable. Children in diapers should not be allowed in the hot tub or pool. Only people at the front desp spoke English. Wish there was a restaurant at the hotel.

I appreciated all the amenities, from the rich breakfast to the evening menu at the onsite restaurant, nevertheless the free shuttle. Staff always courteous.

It was a wonderful holiday weekend. The room was clean, staff were kind, and breakfast was delicious. Never stayed at the Hyatt before but definitely would stay again.

When he arrived, he was turned away at the front desk solely because he is 20. No flexibility, no real effort to help, and no concern for the fact that he had traveled such a long distance and had nowhere else to stay. I was 7 hours away and left scrambling at the last minute to find alternative accommodations. Age policies should be clearly disclosed upfront before taking someone’s payment. Turning away a paid guest at check-in — especially after a long drive — is unacceptable and incredibly stressful. I would strongly recommend that future guests confirm age requirements directly with the hotel before booking.

Location was good because we used the red line for all that we wanted to see. The breakfast staff and the food choice was excellent. The “restaurant” was underwhelming. It was more of a lobby/lounge area with hot food options.

The temperature outside was 25 degrees. My wife has cancer so we checked in at 3:00 pm so she could rest after traveling 5 hours in an ice storm. THE FURNACE did not work. The temperature continued to drop in the room. Finally after 5 hours they got us a new room .

My partner stated that the breakfast buffet was the best he's ever seen. I thought the eggs tasted odd, but a minor thing. Also, the restaurant/bar was great. Good food, drinks, and attentive staff.

Initially when I arrived which was later in the evening, I tried to have a shower and had no water pressure and it was cold, which was really frustrating because it was a long travel day. However, they fixed it asap in the morning and it was the best shower after that, hot with plenty of pressure. Also, I checked out a day early, but still had to pay for the room because I booked it through Expedia.

Front desk attendant, Kennedy, threatened me because she didn’t know what she was doing and therefore I asked for a different person. I no longer feel comfortable using Hyatt Places now. When I booked my most recent trip to Chicago I thought briefly about Hyatt Place and then said absolutely not!

I don’t recommend to anyone. The parking charge is nearly half of the staying charge. When the time of booking I called front deck to check if they have shuttle service they said yes and after I booked another staff member said no shuttle.

Staff was great and room was clean. Wish they would have told us that Rugby teams would be there during our stay. Elevator was a challenge and we had no availability of breakfast

Booked a King Bed. Was given 2 Queen Beds. Checked in late after a long day: too late to think about changing rooms. But I never sleep well in a Queen Bed. Why do hotels discriminate against business travelers who have to check in late?

I requested the room be cleaned daily for three nights daily when I first arrived. When I got back to the room after the first night, the restroom was cleaned an shower cleaned but my bed was not made. I called downstairs to let them know and asked for the manager, Brett. He never called me at all. Also note that I called the desk the same night to be picked up at Memorial TIRR and receptionist did not call the driver. After 30 minutes, I called the mobile and he said he never got the call and apologized.

Nice breakfast

Everything was great! Rooms nice and spacious. Cleanliness was amazing! Let’s not for get about the amazing staff, they were absolutely fantastic!

Bathroom door lock wasn't working, end up with changing room, on the new room front door lock wasn't working also next day evening when came to the room the room wasn't refresh end up calling front desk asking for shower towels.

The room was very nice. Clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. This was our first stay at this particular Hyatt and it was very enjoyable

Everything more than i expected

everything about the property is clean and new. They didnt clean our room until night 4 of 5 and we had to request towels daily. they never came in to take out garbage and cleaning staff was gone by 4p daily. Not clear why they never cleaned our room. Front desk did attempt to fix the problem on the last day

We stay here regularly for my trips to the medical center, the rooms are always clean, the staff kind, and they send a free hot breakfast. The shuttle service is definitely understaffed so that is the biggest downfall, if you have to go back & forth often I would stay at the Rotary House instead (but you’ll have to sacrifice some awesome amenities).

Airport shuttle not offered and no spa services. Onsite bar was nice and staff was great. Walking distance to NRG Stadium was nice.

Front desk gave a key card for our room to another guest. If the brace was not on the door they would have entered the room. Called desk unapologetic and tried to laugh it off. Spend your money elsewhere.

The room floors were dirty when we checked in. Older gentleman working the bar Sunday afternoon/evening 10/26 was rude and all I asked him for was for two plastic cups.

Had such a great experience. Customer service was amazing and the friendliness of the staff was amazing. Breakfast was great and the upkeep of the rooms was also excellent. Next time I am in Houston I will definitely be staying here again.

Housekeeping is very deficient

Everything was nice about the hotel.

The room was spacious and clean. The beds were great. Breakfast was good. The free laundry for guests is a big plus. Housekeeping changed towels every two days, however they did not close the door when they left. This happened twice. Luckily nothing was taken from our room but twice during our stay when we got to our room the door was not closed, anyone could haved pushed it open.

Everything was nice and convenient to the medical center. However, the water pressure in the room was horrible. Hardly any water came out, hard to take a shower and rise off the shampoo. Notified the front desk a couple of times with no avail.

The property itself is new and looks lovely. Front desk staff were friendly. The breakfast was great with some healthy options (fresh fruit and oatmeal plus oat milk). The room itself was not well cleaned. There was no microwave in the room and no additional room amenities that were supposedly offered on request were available (clothes steamer, kettle etc). No complimentary water bottles provided in the room. You often had to wait several minutes for the elevators to arrive.

Breakfast offering was good, with nice variety. Only negative was that the breakfast area was super crowded. We decided to take our plates and drinks upstairs to our guest room.

I book this hotel because my daughter had a next day appointment at MD ANDERSON CANCER FACITY , We got there at 11:45 pm Midnight 1 night before her appointment according to the receptionist their computers were down, they couldn’t register me or look me up so they couldn’t give me a key. So now they turned around and said they never had any technical problems, when I literally had to stayed in another hotel They’re saying that there was nothing wrong with their computer even the receptionist was so so rude, And that I never showed up when I was literally was there. It’s so pitiful. I’ve never written a review but for them to be lying it’s not FAIR

Easy access to a lot of locations. A slight learning curve with the garage elevators but only because I'd never seen it done that way before. Easy once I figured it out. Breakfast was good and filling. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice clean room, 4 towels👍, decent in room coffee, a/c works well. People friendly, covered tower parking totally contained, no rain, no exposure to outside, secure elevators. Good for medical situations; 12:00 checkout…all good.

This location is ideal for those with medical-related stays. It’s extremely close and convenient to the medical centers, making it very easy to get to your appointments and visits.

My wife and I stayed while visiting MD Anderson. The proximity to the hospital, shuttle, and amazing staff have us always coming back here to stay.

We were there for a 1 night stay for my husband's appointment at MD Anderson. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable, and everyone who works there is incredibly nice. However, someone broke the bed cover of our truck trying to pry the top off overnight as it was parked in the hotel's private parking garage. I reported it to the front desk and the lady came outside and took pictures of our truck but informed me that they did not have cameras in the garage nor was there security in the garage. One of the reasons we chose this hotel was because other reviewers had said it was safe. Unfortunately, we will not stay here again.

I liked the hotel for its location. What I didn’t like was the cleaning service did not clean my room. I was told our room was not scheduled for cleaning. We had to ask for clean towels. Also the water had to be shut off from 10:30 am till 2 pm. I had a procedure being done at 2 pm and needed to shower before hand. Was not able to shower. Was not happy with the situation. Thank goodness the water was back on when we returned to our uncleaned room. We had fresh towels though.

Nice hotel, definitely better than I thought it would be. The elevators made me feel a little uneasy however. Just the movement and mechanics made me a little paranoid at times.

Overall my staff was good. Really enjoyed the room layout, pool & hot tub plus free breakfast. The reason I did not give it a 5 star is because the response time on a maintenance issue in my room. Staff was fantastic.

Location was very good for doctor visits at MD Anderson. Breakfast is provided with the room. Dinners in the hotel restaurant are very good. Homeless people do sleep in the door way to Subway restaurant next door.

It was late when we checked in so I haven’t seen the surroundings. But staff was very helpful. The restaurant was open late, thank goodness. And good food!! Nice rooms.

What stands out most to us is how sweet and friendly everyone is...very helpful and accommodating! Each time we need to come to MD Anderson in Houston, Hyatt Place will always be our "home away from home."

Clean new hotel. The beds were extremely comfortable, had the best night sleep. Plenty of garage parking. Perfect location and walking distance to NRG Stadium. Food options nearby. Breakfast buffet was delicious, hot meal, fruit bar, yogurt bar etc. Only negative is the wait time for the elevators and having to take one elevator for your guest room and a different elevator for car parking. Reasonably priced. I would definitely stay here again. Nice rooftop pool with jacuzzi. Bar and hotel restaurant do not open until 4 PM daily. Booked double queen with a pool view.

I liked that we had a view of the pool. Our room was very clean and so were the hallways walking to the room. It was nice a quiet and we slept good. The only thing I didn't like was not a lot of food choices to walk to and the Starbucks coffee was a ridiculous price! About $9 just for regular coffee!!!!!!

Good bedding, convenient to Rive University, everything we needed was fairly close, tasty coffee at breakfast. My only complaint was that they didn’t give us any complimentary water to drink in our room.

The hotel was a nice place to stay a shortish distance from Central Houston but close to the hospital and sports district if these are the reasons for your visit. Rooms were clean and well kept with necessary amenities.Transport access to the hotel and on to places to visit were reasonable though no one likes paying additional parking fees these weren't too steep. There were very busy times at breakfast when food was scarce, choice was fair. Staff were friendly but on asking lacked a bit of local knowledge. Price was fair and would use the hotel again

The rooms are clean and updated. Staff was always friendly and helpful, especially the shuttle drivers. Breakfast and shuttle service is great and tipped the scale in Hyatt’s House’s favor when it came to booking a hotel. I have already booked my next stay.

O called service to clean my room because when I arrived restroom was dirty they apologized and said they would have someone do it well they did Not! Clean it I arrived to my room again after 8 hrs it was the same dirty
