Reviews
The hotel is undergoing renovations, which has led to some inconveniences such as noise and unavailability of certain amenities. Despite this, the staff is consistently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness. However, cleanliness and maintenance are major concerns, with multiple reviews mentioning issues such as stains, mold, and broken fixtures.

This was my husband's and my second time staying at the Yelm. It is always clean inside and out. The breakfast is great. They actually have a hot breakfast. My only suggestion would be to add a waffle option. However, the biscuits are absolutely delicious. It is such a convenient location. We are foodies. So, having several food options around was a huge bonus.

Do not book this hotel. The front desk lady was completely unprofessional and dismissive. The room smelled heavily of mold and we found mouse droppings. This property is poorly managed, filthy, and definitely not worth your money.

Clean, fun decor and close to the medical center. The value overall was quite good.

The ladies working at the front desk were very nice. I was just a little disappointed that housekeeping did not pay a single visit to my room. Stayed with my daughter for 2 nights and were given 2 towels on night one. I put those towels and the trash we has accumulated by the door to help out housekeeping. It remained there my entire stay. So day 2 for a shower, I didn't realize they didn't restock, and froze walking to my old, wet towel on the floor after a shower. I loved the cute and quirky charm of the place. It was quiet and I had no trouble with check-in or check-out. I would definitely stay here again. The price was so good. The breakfast was DELICIOUS. Hated saying anything negative because I loved my stay, minus the lack of housekeeping. Will stay again!!

Decent room size and breakfast. Lack of proper cleaning when requested. Floors, washbasin and bath were not cleaned throughout my stay. In addition, the reading table is too old and inappropriate for such hotel.

I appreciate the attention to cleanliness and customer service and would gladly stay here again. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and enjoyable place to stay.

Easy access to MD Anderson. They also provide free uber for patients and their families to and from their bldg to MD Anderson. Convienent...next to shops. Clean, simple, comfortable. I made use of laundry, gym, ice machine, and breakfasts. Nothing is fancy, but it is very affordable, clean, simple, well-lit and we felt safe. Great customer service & has its own unique look. We enjoyed our stay here. Thank you

Bed was comfortable. I felt like there was one thing after another that led to what was overall a totally unpleasant stay. When I arrived there was actual poop smeared on the wall of the bathroom and the floor was filthy. The receptionist moved me to another room but poo on the wall is just completely unacceptable and it was obvious. I am certain the receptionist never said about the need to request housekeeping services. When I requested more towels because housekeeping didn't come around, she insisted it was on my info card. My card specifically had the line blank for housekeeping requests, and then gave me another one that had the correct line on it. On the info cards, your room key and holder says "Use a safety deposit box" but there aren't any in the room. Don't be insisting that we use a safe if you're not going to provide them. Also, there were other inconsistencies with communication. One receptionist told me they don't have cutlery for guests to use even though the staff member the previous night gave me a plastic spoon to use with food I bought in a store. What hotel doesn't have cutlery for guests? When I used the gym I couldn't find any sanitary wipes or spray for the equipment. I asked at reception and they said "Oh housekeeping clean it, they'll arrive in a while". I have zero faith in housekeeping after my experience with the poop in the room, and in somewhere as hot and humid as Houston it's gross to have to deal with sweaty gym equipment even though they are refitting it. I also asked if there was a water fountain but they only provide a vending machine for plain fresh water. The fridge was actually a freezer and couldn't adjust the temperature. I had to deal with crunchy yogurt that would take an hour to defrost. Loads of the channels didn't work on the TV and the corridors smelled bad. No desk in the room even though there was loads of space and barely anywhere to hang clothes.

The staff was as warm, friendly and kind as could be! A+ King bed was very, very comfortable. Mildew/Mold smell in our room No hooks in bathroom to hang a towel or cosmetic bag. Should be a night stand on both sides of bed. Used the only chair as a nightstand. That left only the bed to sit on. Dirty yucky mold stains on curtains. A dead cockroach in room and another time one found wrapped in towel which was handed to me from front desk when I exchanged for new towel. Was our 2nd time there and definitely won’t return. Price was double and we thought that was because they fixed up from last visit November 2025. We were wrong, 6 months later worse. We won’t return. Photos of mildewed curtain included.

The location was very easy to reach. Near stores and amenities. The rooms had mold and mildew. The bed was wobbly with poor foundation, towels were not clean, and the door didn't lock nor did it have the secondary safety lock latch. Very unsafe. I have asthma and I couldn't even stay the night in the room. The price was very high for the quality of the room. I have stayed here before a couple of years ago and it was very nice and well kept. But this stay was so traumatic, I slept in my car.

The pictures are all glammed, in reality the hotel and room is dated and unmaintained with scuffs/marks/stains throughout the hotel and rooms on the furniture and walls/surfaces. The check-in was a bad experience, we arrived late and found no amenities (shampoo, soap, conditioner) which were required after a long flight. I went to front desk and the man there said they ran out and are not getting delivery till tomorrow. We didn't get ANY amenities at all till the 3rd day and I had to go next morning to buy them from the local grocery store. The towels also were limited, and on the 2nd and 3rd days, housekeeping removed all the towels and didn't put ANY fresh ones in, how to shower? Went to front desk again, and response again was they ran out, I became upset after which they magically found a few. Housekeeping was not upto par as they never vacuumed crumbs etc that were there from before, and also never replaced any bedsheets, just made up the existing ones, plus 2 days for no reason there was no housekeeping at all. The room itself was highly unfunctional, no hooks anywhere in the bathroom, and only 1 working drawer with another 3 sealed shut for no reason, and they also did not provide ANY hangers for the coat rack despite asking every day. No desk or chair either for work. Will NEVER stay here ever again.

The staff was nice. The location was great and the parking was easy. The property felt secure. Overhead lighting in the rooms is a very nice touch! The bathroom had no towel rack, no toilet paper holder, no wash cloth holder, and the ceiling paint was peeling badly. You just had to set everything, including the toilet paper on the counter. One tiny bar of soap and no shampoo was provided, so you had to carry the tiny bar from the sink to the shower and back. All of this could be fixed cheaply and in a couple of hours. The hallway carpet has shrunk from water damage and did not meet the doors. The doors did not close automatically. The coffee was badly burnt and breakfast was very low quality ingredients.

Upon arrival the line was extremely long. After waiting in line for 22 minutes to check-in, I was told my room was not ready and I would have to wait 10 minutes have to wait. Ended up checking in an hour after arrival. Mini fridge was leaking. Breakfast was horrible. The hotel overall was clean with a nice vintage boutique look to it. Room was clean even though I had to wait an hour to get into it. Wasn’t given any washcloths. And no manger onsite. Front desk clerk,Evelyn, did the best she could definitely use extra training on making accommodations and conflict resolution; and some extra staff assistance to avoid the long waits and lines. That whole ordeal caused me to be late to a paid booking. It was nice but I will not stay again and will only recommend it to people that like to take pictures since it is aesthetically pleasing.

Loved the uniqueness and the location. The beds were super comfortable, and the curtains made the rooms very dark for great rest. I wish the bar area was open nightly.

I think it is expensive for what you get in terms of cleaness. I asked to the host for printing 4 pages and she did not will to help me. They have this sign at the room that says that the hotel is visited for many medical patients so if you want your room to be cleaned up, you have to ask for it before 11 am every day at the front desk. The room wasn't really clean. See the pictures attached. Breakfast very poor.
- 5/5
Excellent breakfasts. That is one of the additional bonuses of staying at Hotel Ylem! There is nothing that I can think of that could have been done better.
- 1/5
I honestly would not stay at this hotel. The customer service is garbage and the cleanliness is sub-par. There were yellow towels in the bathroom and stains on the beds. When I checked in I asked if they had a crib and they said "sorry but we dont have cribs anymore." I find the kinda odd. Also I forgot my phone charger in the room and called to get it from the front desk. The front desk staff stated "we dont have access to the storage from the cleaning crew" I am sure it was plugged in when I left and based on the front desk lady she said they walked up and it wasn't there so someones lying either cleaning crew or front desk. These days chargers cost an arm and a leg and it was an original $49 Samsung charger with a $20 wire. Honesty when it comes to Hospitality is extremely important. Next time I'll pay the extra $50 and stay at a Hilton...

This is a beautiful hotel that is decorated wonderfully. We found it to be very clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable including the beds. We will definitely stay again. We cannot comment on the breakfast because we had to leave very early. We appreciated being close to the hospital at a reasonable rate. We were glad to have this option and look forward to booking our next stay.

It’s a small hotel but in a great location. Shopping is close by and lots of food choices nearby. It would be an ideal place to stay during football season. NRG stadium is very close! You could walk there if you wanted to.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and big. Hotel lobby was dark and gloomy. Musty smell in room, furniture was old and scuff. Can't believe the flat screen TV is not a smart & HD TV (there's still one exist). Air filter in bathroom needed to be cleaned, although the bathroom itself was quite good.

- 4/5
Room was "spartan", but acceptable.(no coffee maker, no bedside or table lamps just ceiling). bed and pillows were good, not great. HVAC worked well. All room doors tend to slam unexpectedly when closed, making for unnecessary sound that travels into the room when trying to sleep. Staff were very good, pleasant, and helpful.
- 4/5
The TV in the room wasn’t a smart TV so we couldn’t watch what we wanted or play music. I know the hotel is supposed to be this rustic style hotel but the mirror didn’t allow us to take good pictures due to the lines and also the design of the mirror. in the bathroom shower. There was no place for us to hold our rags or body wash and I feel it was very strange to have cookies just sitting out all day in front of where you check in people are very disgusting and it was a germ filled.

I booked based on the previous reviews and none of it was accurate. The breakfast was not good, my room had an old musky smell, we were there for 2 nights and they only put towels for one day and we needed to turn in our old towels to get new ones and then when you did they didn’t have any. You have to request for your room to be clean and I requested for the trash to be thrown and they didn’t even do that. The size of the room was good, in a good location for the NRG Stadium, but it’s really a 2 star hotel.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Room was clean, front desk staff was very nice, needed extra blanket! Loved the quirky vibes and within walking distance to NRG!
- 4/5
We have stayed here several times and always enjoyed it. However this time was not as good as we had become accustomed to. I paid for the "premium" room, but it was not as nice as some of the others I had stayed in. Also the bathroom was not as clean as I would expect. Then they only had one luggage cart, that was always in use. I had to make several trips to get everything carried. I will say staff was friendly, the ladies at the front desk very accommodating and the breakfast lady was so sweet! These made it not a bad trip, just wasn't up to the standards we have come to expect here.
- 2/5
Beds and shower were dirty. There was food and hair in the beds. Visible stains everywhere. There was no house keeping and I was told I would have to change sheets etc myself. There are homeless ppl surrounded the property.
- 4/5
We were in town for the rodeo. Room was clean kinda looked nostalgic. Retro refrigerator and phone. Rates were high but rodeo time. Overall good stay. Would stay again.
- 4/5
The hotel is cute, close to NRG and lots of food options. I did not care for the policy of cleaning rooms only every third day. If you needed towels you had to ask daily at the front desk. Since no one cleaned the room people put dirty towels in halls, that is very unsanitary and an eyesore. Also we only had two people in our room if you had more I can not imagine what the trash would look like after three days.

We stayed last year it was awesome! So this year I decided to stay again. They didn’t offer a shuttle to the rodeo. Their bar was also closed. Those were some of the reasons I chose to stay again. Will think about next year.

10 out of 10
- 3/5
Well it is close to NRG stadium which is actually a 30 minute walk away and was great for the Rodeo. The other good thing was the parking. The rest was very disappointing and poor value for money. Room 222 is dark and miserable. The window is totally blocked by dirt and has blown with rain marks inside the pane. Carpet worn and place seems to be run on a shoestring. The bar never opened however the fridge and microwave in the room was useful. The other good thing was the bed is very comfortable. We did ask for the room to be serviced as we were out of shower gel and toilet rolls and towels needed changing. Gave the answer it will be done. However it was not in our stay. Overall disappointed.
- 2/5
Our room was gross, stains on the sofa and upholstered bed frame, room was dirty, shower was dripping so the bathroom floor was always wet, we found the last guests clothes next to the sofa which made sense because we had zero housekeeping during our 3 night stay. Each morning I asked for someone to please clean our room which never happened. Trash was overflowing, no fresh towels. coffee, coffee cups, creamer etc not refilled unless we physically went down stairs to ask for what we needed. There were no blankets on the beds, only 2 thin sheets. The room was so cold, we slept in our clothes. The next morning I asked if they could please have housekeeping place some blankets in our room, which they did not. We returned to our room very late that night so I asked the front desk for some blankets and all they had was 1 thin airplane blanket, again we slept in our clothes. I’m so disappointed and find it an absolute disgrace that this hotel had the audacity to charge what they did. I don’t care how busy or short staffed you are, be upfront that you don’t have daily housekeeping, and don’t charge the rate that you did for no service.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The wifi was a lil laggy and it didn't help much. While it was great that breakfast during the week was until 9:30am, it seemed a lil sad. When I went, there was kolaches, cereal, sausage patties, bacon, and toast. I thought maybe there'd be scrambled eggs or batter to make pancakes. But I was only there for a day, so idk if they offer other types of breakfast on other days. But overall I did enjoy my stay

Rooms are big and spacious but you can hear everything from the door to the hallway it was a bit noisy being on the first floor but overall the bed was comfy big bathroom and convenient walk to the rodeo which we were going too. Staff is great and super friendly, always found parking and is close to everything. WiFi was great room was clean, carpet is a bit dingy and old but again perfect price for what we needed.

There was no shuttle to the stadium despite their website repeatedly mentioning one. It was walking distance to several places to eat. Nice, very clean, well done eclectic decor inside. I would stay here again, especially now knowing it’s walkable distance to the stadium.

We chose this hotel based on several amenities that checked the must have boxes for us traveling for Houston Rodeo. Their website listed shuttle service to and from NRG and hotel bar open 5pm-12am, both of which were not true. Front desk staff replied with “The website been saying that.” when we questioned false advertisement. We were also not notified of the “one car one room” policy until after checking in for a group of four with 2 vehicles. All in all it was not a bad hotel, but for someone booking this specific place for certain amenities promised per the website it was very frustrating to learn that was not accurate information. Wouldn’t stay again.

Rooms were fairly clean, sheets were questionable with some staining. You had to physically take your dirty towels to the desk to get new ones. Breakfast did not look appetizing. Staff was friendly, location was great for the rodeo we were able to walk to the stadium. We never got a code for WiFi and there was an odd stain on the ceiling and coming down the wall like it was wet

They charged me twice for the room. Everyone at check in was rude and the smell was unbelievable. The hotel is old and not kept up. Mold on the walls and hair in the bed. Looks like they got their furniture from a bad garage sale. The mattress was lopsided and broken down. We actually left and didn’t stay.

This was our go-to hotel every time we are in town for an event at NRG due to the shuttle provided to and from hotel. Unfortunately they were not providing the shuttle this year which was a bummer. If I would’ve know that they got rid of the shuttle I more than likely booked at another hotel closer to the stadium. Room was clean, the bed & pillows wasn’t comfortable, and the breakfast was basic continental breakfast with really dry French toast. Otherwise, the staff was friendly.

The hotel is clean but the furnishings in the rooms are odd. Rather random pieces of furniture and lack of usable space. Our room had no luggage racks or surfaces to place luggage on. There were no hooks in the bathroom to hang toiletry bags and only one spot to hang a wet towel after showering. The room would be ok for a single night for one maybe 2 people but not for 5 night stay. The location is great if you have activities at the NRG stadium.

Hotel claims that they have parking available but they don’t. They have a very small parking lot and allow anyone to park there. If you are driving to the hotel, you won’t have anywhere anywhere to park.

Parking was easy and safe. We went for the rodeo and it was very easy to walk or catch a ride to the rodeo and not deal with rodeo parking. WiFi worked. They are in a transitional stage of updating and some amenities may not be as expected. Overall good stay.

Quirky little place. The underpinnings are a cheapish hotel that they’ve remodeled with lots of eclectic furnishings. Good parking lot. Bar was closed. Breakfast was decent.

It isn't the typical stay, in that it is unique and personal feel to the decor and art. The beds are not hard but a bit easier on the back and shoulders (if you are a side sleeper), really decent rates and they have shuttle services to and from the medical factifies in the Downtown Houston area as a complimentary service that is free of charge to and from you appointments. So we will continue our stays in Houston at the Ylem.

- 5/5

- 5/5
Rooms were clean, and very friendly staff.
- 4/5
The lady that works at night was sooo so nice! Absolutely the best! The guy in the mornings though, was kinda rude. The hotel was so cute inside, I wish they would give us more toilet paper tho, and the cleaning ladies never came to clean our room :( but besides that the snacks were a good price and hotel and location very good. I would book again! :)
- 5/5
Stay here every time I have Dr appts
- 1/5
The staff was inattentive. The room had stains on the carpet and paint all over the counters and bathroom. There were no towels in the room. It smelled like wet carpet in the and beds were not comfortable.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly!!! Cute boutique hotel. Breakfast included the usual with sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy! Great location!!! Very pleasant stay. Would stay again!
- 5/5
The room was great and comfy. Staff was amazing and attentive.
- 5/5
Yes everyone was nice and hotel was quiet.
- 3/5
Friendly staff, and close to the NRG Stadium but the overall hotel and room is needing some TLC.
- 5/5
Clean room. Fast check in services
- 2/5
Tires and rims stolen off my vehicle and someone elses as well . The hotel has security on staff so not sure how thieves managed to get away with this. Parked in the camera view and under lighting. I would not recommend staying here . We came to go to md anderson cancer center for one day. Please stay somewere else, where they has valet parking and a parking garage.
- 2/5
The room was dirty, bathroom was dirty, there was a big gap under door so you could hear everything in the lobby, hallways, etc., breakfast was not the best as advertised, towels had stains and hair on them.
- 5/5
Clean room and quiet place.
- 5/5
Room was clean and the front desk clerk was very nice
- 5/5
If I had any complaints it would be that the parking lot could use some more lighting & to be cleaned up. I assume they’re mid-renovation just based on what was in the lot.
- 5/5
The rooms were clean, the staff was great, and the area felt safe.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and bed comfortable! We enjoyed our stay will definitely stay again when in Houston for an event.
- 5/5
Great atmosphere and great staff. Great job of protecting peace of your guests and cleanliness of the property. Update washer and dryer and Computer service please for business people. Great service 👏
- 5/5
The rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. A very safe location, with many dining options.
- 5/5
Room was very clean and very frendly staff,
- 4/5
Room was very clean and staff wonderful. Only issue I had was there was no hair dryer in the room, however, when requested it was promptly delivered
- 4/5
Bacon can definitely be cooked a bit longer to give it that crisp/crunchy taste. Variety is key. Rooms are comfortable and staff is amazing!!!
- 4/5
Left before breakfast. AC good. Bed comfortable.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly, room was clean , cable worked
- 5/5
Always very accommodating
- 4/5
Staff was great
- 5/5
Everything. It was amazing
- 3/5
The staff is excellent and the best part of the stay. Rooms felt clean for the most part, you can tell it was a remodel of an older hotel and some corners were skipped on completion. Convenient to the Med Center and staff is helpful is scheduling Uber rides.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
Nice facility
- 5/5
The hotel is good and good price, clean, quiet, and friendly.
- 4/5
T.V. remote was missing from the room. When I asked for one, the staff gave me one that only turned the T.V. on and off, and adjusted the volume. The remote did not change channels or provide any other functions
- 4/5
The room was ok. It was missing chairs to sit. Room needed an overall inspection. Staff was friendly and courteous. Not sure if it was time of the year (Jan) but the room was either to cold or to humid.
- 4/5
Staffs are helpful. The breakfast is limited but they serve hot ones. The room and bedroom were well maintained. The only issue was curtain and plenty of street light enters in nighttime.
- 1/5
Rude staff!
- 4/5
- 4/5

- 5/5
Room was good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was an added bonus. The only complaint would be people slamming doors all night long. But, overall would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Was an excellent choice, we were within walking distance to NRG stadium. They offer an exceptional free breakfast in the morning. Rooms were nice, I will stay her again if I come back.
- 4/5
Convenient location, felt safe, free parking. Clean enough, sofa in room was stained so we didnt sit on it. Wish they had more variety at breakfast but it's free so I'm not complaining too much about that. The staff was friendly and responsive to my two requests during our stay - they provided 3 bath towels even though 4 adults were on the reservation but promptly brought another to the 3rd floor upon my request via phone. The bedside charger didnt work on one of the beds, and the room itself is lacking a trash can in the bathroom. I also called the desk to ask about guest wifi ...its written on your key card envelope fyi 😉 decent value 👌
- 4/5
Clean, safe, reasonable price
- 5/5
Amazing stay!! We will visit again!
- 2/5
The bathroom did not have hooks to hang clean clothes and towels. And shower area did not have anything to place containers with shower gel and shampoo. The bathroom was clean though.
- 4/5
Clean and comfortable beds. Big bathroom. Decent breakfast. Nice bar. Room had a weird smell though.
- 5/5
Our room was clean and quiet, the bed and bedding were comfortable. Everything worked as it should. Close to MD Anderson, which was a plus for us. We have stayed here several times over the last few months, and have always enjoyed it.
- 5/5
Heater kept the room nice and cozy. Staff was nice and welcoming.
- 5/5
El personal muy amable, muy limpio..y muy céntrico de todo ...la decoración muy original, 100% recomendado 👌
- 5/5
We arrived about 45 mins early, and it was no issue checking in at 2:15 pm. Plenty of free parking was available. The outdoor sign could use a replacement, but the decor inside the lobby was very welcoming and positive sayings were all over the walls. The receptionist was super friendly. The “mailboxes” outside the rooms added a neat touch, and the room was very clean and decorated in a unique antique-style. For example, it had an old timey phone, refrigerator, etc. The bed was clean and soft and perfect after a long night attending the Texas Bowl. The following morning, we ate a small breakfast before departing and the options were plenty to include eggs, biscuits, pancakes, French toast, cereal, juice, and coffee, to mention a few. I would definitely stay here again.
- 3/5
My only complaint is that the room they gave me was on the first floor at the very end. It was close to the exit side door so easy access to my vehicle. The issue was the noise that came being in that room. Every time a person went out/in that door it slammed very loudly, woke me out of my sleep every time. I would have preferred to walk through the front door if it meant my room not being close to an exit door. Some kind of cushion or stopper would be nice to prevent that.
- 4/5
Super comfortable bed, great shower, very quiet, convenient location, friendly staff.
- 5/5
It was a great time. The stuff was friendly and kind. Help full in all areas.
- 5/5
Good clean room, affordable rate. Would stay again.
- 4/5
Everything was good Staff Members Kimberly, and Jessica were great hostess and need were met parking and location of hotel were awesome 2 blocks in walking distance from NGR stadium
- 5/5
Friendly staff. They allowed us to park here before the football game even though it was before check in. Quiet and comfortable.
- 5/5
Great hotel, incredible folks working there, all around A+ experience
- 4/5
Very friendly staff. Clean room
- 4/5
The hotel was great. Clean rooms, friendly staff, great location, good breakfast options.
- 4/5
The staff were very friendly! Breakfast was okay, nothing extravagant but works for how much you spend for the night. There could be some remodeling done to the building (noticed some cracks underneath doors, no shelves for personal items in the shower, etc.) but besides that my night was fine 👍
- 5/5
Great Experience
- 5/5
Love this place. Feels like a cross between a hotel and a hostel.
- 4/5
Yes everything was good.need better bacon and sausage.
- 5/5
Room was clean, good breakfast and staff was very kind
- 4/5
Room was very clean. The TV wouldn't work in the first room so the moved us but it ended up being a smaller room. So the moved again a the size of room we originally had. They were very attentive and willing to make things right. My only complaint is the breakfast. The hot food was cold and the selection was lacking we ended up going to Chickfila every morning.
- 5/5
The room was really clean a neat. Staff was really welcoming.
- 3/5
On the floor of the shower which is inconvenient.
- 5/5
Personal muy amable y habitación limpia y espaciosa
- 1/5
There were ants all in the bed upon checking in. Was tired from staying at the ER/hospital for prior hours and wanted to relax/ get rest. Ended up having to purchase another hotel room for the night elsewhere.
- 1/5
Missing toilet tissue stand.
- 5/5
We didn’t have time for breakfast, but it looked like a processed mix of breakfast foods.
- 5/5
Very clean, convenient to get around, plenty of free parking.
- 5/5
Loved this place!! Friendly staff and clean rooms!! This will be my go to place to stay whenever I’m in Houston.
- 5/5
Nice place
- 5/5
Nice place
- 3/5
The room was clean and convenient to the hospital. The bartender was friendly and generous. However, the TV didn't work properly, and the staff chose not to be helpful. The coffee maker didn't work either.
- 5/5
Nice location.
- 5/5
clean room, transportation to and from hospital very much appreciated
- 5/5
Thank you to All staff for being helpful and kind.
- 5/5
Clean & comfortable room. Nice breakfast. We have stayed here multiple times to be close for an appointment at MD Anderson and will stay again. The only negative is limited non gated parking but we have never had theft.
- 4/5
Room was clean, but windows were dirty inside and out. They need to be cleaned so you could see outside.
- 4/5
Every worked. Quick registration. Clean room. Quiet. Convenient walkable dinner locations.
- 5/5
It’s really good and cheap
- 3/5
The staff was very friendly. They have a complementary uber if going to the medical centers. I loved the uniqueness of the hotel. The third floor hall was mesmerizing with the tall ceiling. The room was nice sized had a coffee maker, bath amenities, but only towel set for one person. The bed was clean and comfortable, but the bed frame and chair needed to be deep cleaned or replaced. What bothered me the most was that there were blood drops on the floor next to the shower and on the tub. Can’t tell if the ones in the tube was rubbed off or rinsed off broom the shower curtain dripping. Our room didn’t have a bad odor like some reviews said.
- 5/5
Very clean rooms staff was amazing
- 4/5
Great location and friendly staff.
- 5/5
Love it
- 4/5
Was totally clean and great!
- 5/5
Very kind and clean
- 4/5
The breakfast food was hot and ready the room was clean
- 5/5
Good property nice room better than expected
- 3/5
The breakfast was the same as all the other hotels. I thought being a boutique hotel it might be a little different and fresher by the reviews. Then the bar was closed on Monday night… that’s kinda why I picked the hotel.
- 4/5
Always a nice place and convenient to the medical center.
- 5/5
The room was clean and tidy, could do with some bedside table lights, the breakfast was lovely and well stocked, the staff were friendly and helpful. I had an enjoyable stay. Thank you
- 3/5
Didn't even tried and they didn't even change the towels after first night have to ask for it
- 5/5
Loved the unique designs!
- 4/5
Staff is great. Rooms are clean and adequate. Shuttle service through Uber to MD Anderson is a welcome perk.
- 4/5
Staff was very nice, clean room, offered to change rooms since our tv was not working. Overall everything was great, will definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Room was very clean. Beds super comfortable and the front desk and bartender were awesome
- 5/5
Staff, clean and quiet. Perfect for a medical center stay.
- 5/5
Staff was nice and helpful
- 5/5
The team was very nice
- 5/5
Muy bueno
- 5/5
This hotel has been amazing the last 2 times we have stayed here. And will be over the next several years as my husband gets medical help there. The staff is great, the rooms as well as the whole facility are clean and in great condition. It seems like it might be an older holder but they maintain it very well. The prices are very reasonable and they are very compassionate towards medical patients. Which is very appreciated. They over Uber services to the medical building which is also so helpful. Takes one less burden away from us. I honestly can’t say enough about their place.
- 5/5
Clean room, frendly staff, walking distance to stores, restaurants, hospitals
- 4/5
Rooms were pretty clean. The bottom of our curtains and carpet had stains either from water or something I don’t wanna think about.. Headboard was detached from wall and leaned. There was not a nightstand on one side of the bed. A comfortable chair would have been nice. Pillows were flat. Close to MD Anderson. Staff was amazing.
- 5/5
I love the rooms are spacious, kept clean and well maintained. The staff are fantastic especially Jessica she was really helpful and kind to me. I was there for medical reasons. I call this a home away from home.
- 5/5
From the time we walked in the door to the time we left everyone and everything was excellent
- 5/5
AC was great. Breakfast was fresh.
- 3/5
For long stays you have to let the front desk know that you need your room clean. You only get two sets of towels and have to request more as needed. The bathroom toiletries come in mini bottles. Have your own bath soaps and lotions. No complimentary water stocked in room. The breakfast has variety basic for on the go or a quick eat sitting. Overall the property is clean. Rooms are spacious. Staff is very friendly.
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay! Staff is very friendly close to freeways and the stadium!
- 5/5
The decor and the staff were on point. Stay was perfect and the price affordable. Definitely would stay bere again
- 5/5
I’ve been several times now, clean, friendly and comfy.
- 5/5
Nice, clean room with good breakfast at a good price. Will be back!
- 5/5
Staff is wonderful
- 3/5
Yes, although no bedside lamp or light switch resulting an 81yr old falling!
- 5/5
Super nice staff
- 4/5
Room was generally clean but lack hair dryer, towel rack and toilet paper holder
- 5/5
The neighboring area is questionable, but staying at the property, you'd never know it. The inside of the hotel has been recently refreshed and was very nice. They were very decorated for Halloween. Made it seem like a very personal hotel.
- 4/5
The place was clean and the room was very comfortable. Breakfast was quite nice - plenty of options to choose from, and they change the way they cook the eggs from time to time, which was refreshing. Would stay again!
- 2/5
I’ve stayed here before and liked it. This time the bedding smelled of body odor. The side of the bed had a huge stain. The rolling drawers in the bathroom had goo on top. I liked it before. I’m hoping this is a bad day. But may not go back.
- 5/5
Everyone we met was very kind and informative. Rooms were very clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Friendly place, great location.
- 4/5
Clean room. Battery low on fire alarm and was chirping upon our arrival. Staff promptly moved us to another room.
- 2/5
Towels and bedding need replacing; KIM and manager are worst I’ve ever encountered and were rude without apology. Property is convenient and cute with most basic amenities
- 1/5
stated they accept service dogs then kick you out when you have one saying they have people with cancer from the hospital
- 1/5
I booked two nights just by looking at the pictures, but when I arrived, the place smelled terrible and was completely different from the photos. Now I understand why the room was so cheap. I stayed only one night and canceled the second
- 5/5
Very nice property and clean rooms.
- 5/5
The AC worked very well, the room was quiet and clean. It was very convenient for my medical appointment. The facilty appeared old but was more than worth the price. I would stay again.
- 4/5
the decor has a retro vibe. it was a safe spot for my daughter and I. it is an older hotel but overall great for our one night stay
- 5/5
Clean rooms
- 5/5
The staff were super nice and fun to chat with!
- 5/5
The staff is friendly, really good complementary breakfast in the morning, the room was clean and the hotel was in good condition, free parking close to MD Anderson, and the price is very reasonable for downtown Houston
- 4/5
The rooms were spacious.
- 5/5
Value hard to beat. Cute property, 4 pillows, 3/4 size pillows, I liked them. Room very clean. Staff is very knowledgeable and eager to please.
- 3/5
There was a bedside table on only one side of the bed and no lamp in the room.
- 5/5
Kimberly is the BEST! She makes my trips to MD Anderson more enjoyable by being so friendly…and she sings beautifully!!
- 5/5
It was very welcoming and relaxing.❤️
- 5/5
And they offer free shuttle to the nrg for games , maybe the only place I’ll stay when in Houston now!
- 4/5
We were very pleased with the hotel for the price we paid. It was quiet and we'll staffed. We appreciated it's proximity to the medical center, too.
- 4/5
There were restaurants and shopping within walking distance. There was a stain on the sheet
- 4/5
Our stay was great! Friendly staff, free parking, my only issue was that the room smelled a bit musty upon our arrival.
- 3/5
While we enjoyed our stay at the hotel ylem, there were a few things that could have been improved. The hotel is a bit rundown looking from the outside, and definitely on the inside. Most annoying was the lack of any hooks, shower shelves, or toilet paper holder in the bathroom. WiFi is sketchy. However the bed was really comfy and the breakfast was ok. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Best of all was the shuttle to NRG stadium free of charge.
- 1/5
DO NOT BOOK OR STAY HERE!!! WiFi was down. Bar was closed (per staff, had been closed for a while now). The rooms were damp and smelled musty. Probably full of mold. Which I am highly allergic to. Requested to move to another room and was told the hotel was fully booked and there were no other rooms available. My friends’ room was so bad they left and stayed at another hotel down road. The chairs in the lounge area were covered in stains. I was completely disgusted with the whole experience. Needless to say, I will NOT be staying at the hotel again. I encourage others to stay away and drive a little further down the street (like 2 blocks) and stay elsewhere.
- 1/5
Very moldy and humid room. Unable to move us into another room. We ended up staying at the Marriott, a block away. Disgusting room. Our friend's room was not as bad.
- 5/5
Great location for tx children
- 3/5
I stayed here once before a few years ago and had an excellent stay. However, this recent stay was not as excellent. I walked into a room with stained sheets. It was not too much of a big deal as it was changed quickly. However, there also were very visible stains of all sorts on the bed frame that had been there for some time. This was my only issue. Just think the bed frame needed to be replaced or deeply cleaned. Would stay here again just think some of the furniture needs to be updated.
- 5/5
clean room, fast internet, many shops and restaurants within walking distance
- 3/5
Some restaurants. Did not use wifi.
- 4/5
I loved the character of this place. Good breakfast options, friendly staff, quiet and secluded. I wish the bar was opened. I would stay here again.
- 3/5
Room interior was good, but once you step out.... the carpets are filthly and the smells were too much.
- 5/5
Perfect hotel to stay at for the Houston Texans game

I will preface by saying, the receptionists at the front desk were wonderful and accommodating. However, I could not complete my stay at this hotel. We left around 10:00pm to find a different hotel to stay at. The furniture in the room, couches, and bed frames as well as the carpet were covered in stains. A very large black cockroach crawled out from under the bed. I asked for our room to be switched and they did so, but as soon as we walked into the new room, the fire alarm was beeping for batteries to be changed. They offered to change them quickly, but at that point, I just wanted to get out of there. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this property.
- 5/5
The room was clean. It did smell a little musty but that could have been caused if they didnt run the AC for a while. Overall a good experience . The staff was fantastic
- 2/5
Not hot water in shower - no lights on walls just
- 1/5
Absolutely awful. No towels. Mattress and headboard had huge yellow stains. AC is a swamp cooler. Everything is wet and clammy. AC unit in hall has giant hole in ceiling. Carpet torn and stained. Bugs in bed. This place us horrid. Last nite found bug in bed, ac unit quit. Parking bad. Place should be leveled.
- 5/5
Great hotel walking distance to NRG stadium. Friendly staff. Would stay again
- 5/5
Not bad for the price. We use this hotel when we come to NFL games! Good sleep!
- 3/5
My stay this time was much better. Only thing is having to go to the front desk for linens to swap out. I didn’t have any towels in my bathroom. The worker only wanted to give me one set. I know for a fact they start off with two. Even for single occupancy. I didn’t argue. Just went back upstairs. Made sure to review when my visit was over.
- 3/5
Room spartan but clean, need to provide hangers for clothes and towels. Getting towels was the most difficult ever…daily. 1st evening staff not nearly as pleasant as 2nd evening staff. No table to sit at for work or eating in room.
- 4/5
It was a perfect spot to be close the the stadium
- 4/5
Stayed for Texans game. Close proximity to game. Lots of things close, resturants, shopping stores, grocery store it is all close, walking distance. If you're coming and want a no big frills place this is it.
- 2/5
Bar was shut down and there was no hot water!
- 5/5
Very nice and has a very enticing aesthetic
- 5/5
Was clean good people working here thanks
- 4/5
There is not an official type desk in the room with a desk chair. Some of us that travel need to do computer work. Smelled like smoke in the room. There is a bar that in the evening was actually open and a nice setting. Parking limited right in front of the entry, was to the far end of the building. Great close proximity to the AT&T center for a concert or game.
- 5/5
Kimberly and staff was awesome
- 4/5
Pleasant staff
- 4/5
Had problems with toilet fire detection needed ew batteries staff promptly responded
- 5/5
Kimberly and the rest of the staff was amazing and my our stay for my wife birthday amazing!!
- 1/5
The aesthetic of the hotel is vintage which is what caught my eye. I did an early check in. The room I had got there were dirt and stains on the pillows and sheets. The room didn’t have any towels. And it had an old dirt smell. I went to front desk requesting new sheets and pillow cases and towels, the front desk representative was very disrespectful saying that if I wanted clean sheets and towels I needed to call before 11am which I had just checked in. The nice lady that originally checked me in was leaving so I guess there was a shift change. So I go back to my room , I look at the window and there is a car parked right at my window. So I instantly started feeling more uncomfortable. I go to the front desk and ask to just get a new room because someone’s car is right in front of my window , she said “oh that’s just our bartenders car I will ask him to move it” at this point I have somewhere to be and can’t get ready because it took a while for them to move the car so I went back and asked for a refund, she then tried to offer me another room and I had already booked another room because it was too much happening and I was extremely uncomfortable and was receiving horrible service because she kept being smart like she didn’t want to help me
- 3/5
The connivence of the hotel was perfect for a 2night stay. Clean and love the decor. Staff was a bit uptight and not informative about how you hav to request housekeeping. Had to repeatedly ask front desk for more towels til i was able to get some. Breakfast was okay, love that you are close to other restaurants and store options.
- 4/5
I enjoyed my stay and liked the look of the hotel. There are a few updates needed here and there, but over all, the price, location, décor are very good.
- 5/5
The interior design was really nice! I also liked how they provide prolonged stays for medical visitors, very thoughtful!
- 2/5
There was no clock in the room and the closet area had NO HANGERS. The only source of illumination in the room is a BIG LIGHT which is overheard but only controlled by the switch by the door. Without the TV, I would have stumbled badly on the way back to bed. The refrigerator and A/C worked well, though. Overall, it was a very uneven experience. Were it not for the convenience of the location to the activities I had planned, I would have checked out after the 1st night and slept on my friend's toddler's floor.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff. Had a great stay. Would come again.
- 5/5
The hotel is unique, I’ve never stayed in a place so particular. Please don’t lose the touch of this place, loved the stay and so close to things to do.
- 3/5
Close to tons of restaurants and NRG stadium. The only thing was that when it came time for me to check in, I went to my room only for me to find the door open and the room in a state of uncleanliness. After reporting this to the front desk, I waited for 15-20 minutes before getting assigned another one. One of the housekeepers found my predicament to be amusing for one reason or another.
- 2/5
There’s only 1 reason to stay in that area of town and it’s the hospital, if your equipment is broken make sure to update your website.
- 3/5
Was clean
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Excellent place! Coming to Houston for the first time for a concert and it was exceptional! The staff have been more than lovely! Greeted us everyday and every time we left and or came back. It truly felt like home. Would highly recommend and can’t wait to visit again in the future!
- 4/5
The room was clean when I first got there but no one came after we were gone all day to clean it .
- 5/5
My only complaint is the BREAKFAST and COFFEE... NOT GOOD ...need better choices.
- 5/5
I would stay there again.
- 3/5
They have a terrible problem with Ants on the 1st floor. Ants were in both beds. The carpet in the room we were in was gross. No toilet paper roller.
- 5/5
The room and services were very nice.
- 5/5
Honestly it was so easy to check in the front desk is super nice & helpful they made it easy for my trip especially not being from Houston it was nice
- 5/5
Extremely nice...loved my experience... definitely going back
- 5/5
The rooms are always clean and the staff is very friendly and accommodating.
- 2/5
Front desk not helpful. Was unable to work the TV. Very limited on towels & supplies. Would not book this hotel again
- 1/5
Hotel should have been closed. Elevator was not working. Room did not have a fire alarm. There was exposed wiring where the alarm should have been. Carpet in hall was not fully installed with bare floors at the doorways. As others have said in reviews here, the beds were filthy! The towels were just paper thin, stained, and rough. There was no toilet paper holder in the bathroom. Expedia should be ashamed of hosting this hotel on their site, much less allowing a 3 star rating. I do t know how others could have ever given this hotel a good review, they had to have been blind or have never stayed in a clean hotel before.
- 5/5
Very Chill and Laidback
- 4/5
This hotel also offers free Ubers to medical appointments for elderly guests in need of travel accommodations. Though I was staying at the site while in town for a concert, it was clear this guest is a very solid and hospitable choice for those in town visiting the medical centers.
- 5/5
Very relaxed setting, we loved the great bar tender!
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay
- 5/5
It was a great stay
- 5/5
Have been staying here for years every since it was holiday inn. Love it here.
- 4/5
Very nice hotel for the price, free coffee in the lobby all day long which I enjoyed. The staff is very accommodating and the rooms are decent. The only thing is the pillows in the bedrooms are very small they don't have any larger ones I asked at the front desk .
- 5/5
This place is a hidden gem.
- 5/5
Great stay close to NRG area
- 5/5
Wonderful little gem. Friendly and courteous staff. Hot breakfast fast. Highly recommended.
- 3/5
Stayed for two nights at this place. The rooms are uncomfortable and strange. There was a big open space in the room that should have been used for a table and two chairs. We had to eat on our bed. Remote control wasn't working & we had to wait to get that fixed. The ice machine was literally right outside our door and it was so loud at all hours of the day and night. We stayed for two nights and had to ask for new towels. I asked whoever was at the front desk for more towels and more hangers and she acted like it was a huge inconvenience. Never received either. Also, don't expect much for the breakfast. Walk next door to the Kroger and get something over there. I wouldn't stay here again.
- 4/5
Room needs to clean well.
- 5/5
Good breakfast
- 5/5
Love this place. Clean , nice staff , with an uber to the med center. Free parking. Close to everything. Will stay here again!
- 4/5
Excelente lugar, tranquilo y limpio. Volvería a quedarme.
- 4/5
Breakfast food was good and the bed comfort was ok. The room smelled of musty/mold from the air conditioner unit. I think the coils need to be cleaned.
- 4/5
- 5/5
Will be returning!
- 1/5
Horrible
- 5/5
Receptionist was great. Very nice, professional and helpful
- 1/5
Before we left the first room, the owner came to “inspect” and confirmed our complaints but responded with passive-aggressive remarks. She dismissed major hygiene issues, including visible vomit and what appeared to be urine stains on the bed frame, claiming they “couldn’t be fixed.” This is simply unacceptable for any hospitality business. The second room wasn’t much better—intermittent air conditioning, no phone, and instead of a closet, a large metal clothing rack that was not anchored and could easily tip over when loaded with clothes. Overall, this property lacks basic cleanliness, proper maintenance, and professional customer service. I would strongly advise others to avoid staying here.
- 5/5
Comfortable room friendly staff, lots of places to eat nearby, free uber to and from hospital
- 2/5
Curtains would not close all the way and bright light outside the window shining in the room while we were trying to sleep. Coffee maker in room didn’t work. Pillows uncomfortable. No clothes hangers. Not enough towels for 2 people. Breakfast was terrible.
- 5/5
Great stay, spacious rooms
- 3/5
My only complaint is that the floors squeak so you hear everything from the people above you. Every time they walk around squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak. And it is super loud, but it’s not really anything anybody can do anything about.
- 3/5
Property is quiet, parking area well lit. Front desk clerk took a few minutes to come to desk, room needs better ventilation and air circulation, feels damp. Bathroom was nicely designed but needs baseboard and caulking. Cleaning was mediocre with long hairs found in the sink. Bedding could've been cleaned better.
- 5/5
Loved it
- 3/5
No good customer service
- 5/5
Excellent
- 5/5
Breakfast was absolutely delicious, room was clean, staff super friendly, and most of quiet at night.
- 5/5
The hotel is quite lovely and the staff welcoming. It's at a great location and decorated in very creative ways. Free parking and a decent breakfast. It was undergoing renovations so some things were a bit unfinished or not functioning correctly e.g. the curtains in the room were not hung properly leaving gaps and there were no lamps in the room. Anything we pointed out was promptly attended to and we got apologies for things being less than perfect. We're definitely coming back here.
- 5/5
The only heads-up regards the walkability and location touted by third-party booking sites. This isn't a neighborhood for strolling or sightseeing. While NRG Stadium, decent dining, and other destinations are relatively close, you would do as any native Houstonian would do: you drive.
- 4/5
Checkin and checkout were seemless. The location was good, and next to alot of stores. A/C was rather noisy but I wpuld still come back for a stay.
- 5/5
Clean rooms, friendly staff, nice interior.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff
- 5/5
Nice hotel, good location and a very reasonable price.
- 2/5
The overall hotel is in bad shape, old and dated!! My room did not have a lamp or a clock. Lamps are needed at night, especially with children!!! Clocks come in handy when you want to know what time it is and not need your personal phone to do so!!! Coffee pot in my room did not work so went downstairs and it was Ice cold, unplugged!! Was told I could have a new pot the next day, but I was only there for the one night so that did not help. Coffee would’ve been nice after a 4 hour drive! Remote was missing piece that covered batteries so they kept falling out! Room was clean as far as floors, counters and sheets but the fabric around bed bottom, disgusting with stains. Can only imagine what was there that you couldn’t see!!! That area of a hotel bed really shouldn’t be fabric!!!! Furniture old and in bad shape!! Everyone raved on the breakfast in reviews but that could only be done in false pretense because it was just sad!!! Coffee issues again… it had ran out and was having to be made so good thing I wasn’t in a hurry. No fresh fruit, usually there’s bananas, apples or oranges…nope!!! No yogurt!! Gravy was out, one biscuit left, 2-3 sausage patties. So needless to say, I’m glad I had my own food which by the way got frozen in the “super” tiny fridge in the room. So frozen yogurt for breakfast and the salad I had for lunch that day had to be trashed! Not worth $$$ or hassle!!!
- 5/5
Overall clean and good spot.
- 5/5
One minor improvement I would suggest is having a small tabel or fold-up tray table in the room.
- 5/5
Nice hotel!
- 5/5
Friendly staff the rooms are clean and comfortable with great decor
- 3/5
Apparently, this property is in the middle of an acquisition by one of the larger hotel chains, and the needs in the building are being ignored. My room was a good example of how bad it is. There was no chair anywhere in the room. There was no desk. I had to ask for some basic things, like a wash cloth and a hand towel. There were other things missing, but I will not go on. I will not be staying there again - unless it gets a good renovation. One very positive thing is that all the staff were great.
- 5/5
This place is amazing!! Everyone makes you feel like you’re at home!! We will be back when we have more appointments! The staff is great as well! The ladies make you feel comfortable at all times. If your water doesn’t get hot flip it on the cold!!
- 1/5
What is advertised isnt what you get at this hotel.
- 5/5
Love the retro decor and the friendly staff.
- 2/5
- 5/5
Very clean ! Loved the beds and pillows !
- 4/5
No towels nor soap in the bathroom. No regular coffee in the room-just de-caf.
- 4/5
I had a wonderful stay and will be using this location again.
- 2/5
The staff is so friendly
- 4/5
The property and vibe in general is nice and I would like to stay again. Breakfast options were limited but still had a decent variety of hot options and I liked that they stayed open til 10am on the weekends. The 12pm check out time was nice too. The only thing I didn't like was that there were no towels in the room upon check in, housekeeping didn't come by (we booked 2 rooms for 2 nights), and while there is a bar they do close early. I tried to go 40 minutes before they were supposed to close but when I got there the bartender was sitting down at the bar saying it was already closed and he had already turned it the mixed drink book. When I questioned about the closing time all he said was he already turned in the book and that the best he could do was grab me a beer but it'd have to be cash only
- 3/5
The room was bland, the furniture is in disarray not sure if that is on purpose for the esthetic. Like the bed didn’t match the nightstands and neither matched the table, the random metal chair that you see at a banquet hall. No art on the walls like they have in the lobby. You can hear people in the hallway and some metal noise that almost sounds like someone trying to open our door. The AC sounded like it was
- 2/5
This property ids definately not a 3.5 star...2 would be pushing it. Broken run down furniture in room. Dirty walls. Stains on the bed. And even found a bullet slug in the parking lot. Won't be staying there again...no way...no how..
- 5/5
I've stayed here several times and always enjoy the atmosphere and the breakfast buffet. There are a number of wonderful sights and restaurants nearby and they are especially accomodating to patients and visitors of the Houston Medical Center. I give the Hotel Ylem a big thumbs up.
- 5/5
The staff was great
- 2/5
Disappointed. Expedia rated this place EXCELLENT, but it was not. Lobby is beautiful but the room we stayed in smelled like mildew. Our room was dingy, furniture is up-cycled according to their website but was stained and dingy. Beds were comfy except after pulling sheets back I discovered stains on our sheets. Our headboard was not secured to the wall and was upside down and fell on us. Dirty spots on the wall paper in the bathroom, water on the floor and on laboratory. The staff who worked during our stay were very kind. I did report the head board and they offered to change out room but by then our children were asleep and we just figured it out for the night.
- 5/5
The property is on a very busy street, however, the rooms are quiet, the beds are comfortable. They do include complimentary breakfast, a basic continental breakfast, but very good and filling.
- 3/5
Shower does not get warm. Had to take cold showers. The room had a slight smell to it.
- 5/5
Close to event we were attending, great price, T the bartender was amazing, very personable and was attentive every night we were at the bar, even though he was extremely busy each night, he never lost his cool 😎. Thanks T for making our weekend special!
- 3/5
While the staff was friendly, the “local, eclectic, artistic” vibe described online was nowhere to be found. The walls, ceilings, and doors were paper thin—we could clearly hear the neighbor’s TV (even though it wasn’t loud), every footstep above us, and even the ice machine dispensing. The listing mentioned a shuttle within a 3-mile radius, but on arrival we learned it was only for medical appointments—so it didn’t cover the event we were attending. The location was an easy walk to NRG Stadium, but the surrounding neighborhood felt a bit sketchy. Also, at check-in they required a physical card with printed numbers because they didn’t accept chip or tap-to-pay. It worked for a single night, but we would not stay here again.
- 5/5
Great hotel, very clean and friendly
- 2/5
They place is dirty, run down, poor attention to detail.... so many better in the area
- 4/5
Everyone was so nice and kind front desk was very helpful even got a shuttle to the concert. Only reason I couldn’t give 5 stars is because I found a roach in the shower. Other than that so really enjoyed my stay.
- 5/5
Enjoyed stay. Definitely would come back!
- 4/5
Great place
- 5/5
Great hotel in a great location.
- 4/5
Didn't have enough towels and wash cloths, only one wash cloth for 2 people. However, outside of that experience was excellent, staff is friendly, great location, very good complimentary breakfast. Highly recommend
- 1/5
Room smelled VERY strongly of mildew. They were fully booked and none of the weekend staff could help with canceling my second night
- 4/5
The great place to stay will definitely return
- 2/5
The room was not cleaned in many areas. There was some type of residue on the bathroom counter and the shower was disgusting. Ther was red stains that looks like blood, dirt and hair in the crevices. When i approached the front desk about another room or to have housekeeping come back and clean, i was told there were no other rooms nor was housekeeping available. The front desk clerk offered to come to the room and clean but it was just another surface wipe thag didnt change much. The room had badic amentities but was muggy. Unfortunately I give 1/5 stars. I will never stay here again
- 4/5
Overall the stay was great! It was conveniently located minutes from NRG which allowed for ease of access. The only thing I would suggest are some upgrades to the room. The shower didn’t have anywhere to put your soap or shower gel so we had to use the floor. There wasn’t an ironing board, but we had an iron. If it weren’t for those items, it would have gotten 5 stars.
- 5/5
Had a great stay! The staff was nice and helpful. The room was clean. I would stay here again!
- 4/5
I had a weird interaction with the boy at the front desk where he told me I couldnt get an extra towel and it had to be a “replacement towel”??? He eventually did give me the extra towel though. Other than that this place is cute and convenient for events at NRG.
- 4/5
This was a nice stay. I love the unique vibe here. The breakfast was pretty decent, there was sausage, eggs, biscuits, fruit cups, yogurt, cinnamon buns, etc. And the location is good. My only issue was with the bathroom. Our shower door was off track so it was a struggle opening and closing. There was no lid on the toilet, so toilet germs are just flying around when you flush. And there was absolutely no where to put your shower items. No rack, no soap dish, nothing. We had to put our stuff on the shower floor, yuck. Its the little things for me! I could have gave a 5 if it wasnt for those things. Overall though a decent stay.
- 5/5
Stay here just for one night. Staff was friendly, the ambience of the hotel was great, the bar was a bit pricey, and the breakfast needed for variety. However the overall experience was great.
- 2/5
Lots of stains on beds and sofa, beds need to be replace.
- 5/5
Check in was very easy. The staff at the front desk were very nice. The hotel is a bit qu
- 4/5
Clean hotel and great location
- 4/5
Nowhere on their website or on hotels.com did it state that to check in one must be 21. I booked this hotel for my 19 year old and her friend because the site said “adults 18+.” The manager let them stay but only because they had nowhere else to go and were so far from home. Almost ruined a fun birthday trip because of misinformation on these sites.
- 5/5
The hotel is artsy and the people are really nice. Very cozy experience, highly recommend :)
- 4/5
Hotel was super close to NRG stadium, loved that for the Morgan Wallen concert they had transportation to the event! If I ever go back to Houston, definitely would consider staying here again.
- 3/5
It wasn’t bad , the elevator made a lot of noise sounded like something was wrong with it, the room was clean, wasn’t a bad deal
- 5/5
We will definitely stay there again on our next visit to Houston.
- 5/5
A fun and welcoming environment as a whole. Everyone we met were all pleasant and helpful. The hotel itself is so nice. The decor is beautiful and flows from space to space. Breakfast was fantastic. Everything was hot and fresh. We would absolutely stay here again. A very unique place to stay.
- 3/5
No hot water in shower
- 5/5
I love the cleanses of the room breakfast was great and it was a block from my daughters who just move there I’m definitely staying there again see you all in January Thankyou for everything
- 5/5
Unique property tucked away near medical center with affordable comfortable rooms and great atmosphere
