Beautiful hotel with lots of history. Everything was perfect!

Wonderful staff, delicious food and clean accommodations

That the entire staff were all very attentive to mine and my wife's needs. The only complaint if anything at all was our bathtub shower handle didn't work.

Would definitely go back! Staff was great, from the valet to the front desk staff. Clean, cute rooms. Relatively quiet! Centrally located.

I liked this hotel. The shower was pretty awesome. It had two shower heads but no bathtub faucet. The room was large and wide for two people. the only thing that was annoying is the air conditioner always sounded like someone was opening my door when it started up but there is no way in summer months to stop the air conditioner in Texas it’s so hot! also it was pointed away from the bed so it was nice that it wasn’t blasting while we were sleeping. The location was central to places I wanted to go in downtown and river oaks area. I would totally stay there again!

This hotel was super cool. Love that Marriott maintained the historical feel of the property. A little disappointed with the restaurant. There are a lot of really cool food choices in the area and it would be nice if this was one of them. The breakfast that you have to pay for is the equivalent of a holiday inn or another “free” breakfast property. The bar drinks are awesome though, and totally separate from the restaurant. For as expensive as this property is, I expected more from the restaurant. And the parking is crazy expensive. But overall would definitely stay again.

The staff is very nice. The building is historic apparently use to be a bank and the bar is impressive. Very convenient for the baseball stadium or going to the theater or opera. Some of the best shower pressure of any hotel I’ve ever been to. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. The pillows were super flat and the sheets were rough. For almost 600 a night for the PH floor is expect a lot more.

The bartender at the restaurant when we ate there Monday night at 1015 was not very attentive to us. Once our food was delivered she never came back to check on us. I ran out of water, she never offered a refill. Spent the time we were there talking with the man at the bar.

I loved the ambience and the whirlpool tub was amazing. Beautiful views of the city. I didn’t like the limited television options.

The room was great! We always stay at the Icon when we stay overnight in Houston. The rooms are always clean and inviting. It's close to the things we like, Warren's, Notsuoh, Dean's, La Carafe, the Emerald Theater, Market Square. Nothing that I can think of!

Location was very good downtown Houston with lots of restaurants very close by. The room was beautiful and the shower spacious with good flow. Expensive extra costs that were not known about parking the car that were not known before checking in.

The hotel is unique, upscale, and the amenities are fabulous! they offer a complimentary shuttle anywhere around downtown. They took us to Daikin park for a Astros game. Wonderful customer service at the front desk as well! I will be back for sure!

The bed was super hard, I would’ve been more comfortable sleeping on the floor, the sheets thin as hell which was a good thing because the A/C in the room didn’t work. It was on 38° and it still felt like it was 80° in the room. The pillows were thin as well. Super noisy and they only gave 1 set of towels.

From the outside you can not tell it is a hotel, it is a historic bank building. It has great history and they have done an amazing job keeping both old and new touches.

The room was great, the staff was kind, and overall I had a great stay for a work trip. I was here for 4 nights and I never had any problems. Downtown was under construction and there was some loud sounds coming from the equipment, I don't put that on the responsibility of the hotel, but just something to keep in mind if you stay.

Great place to stay if you want to enjoy all of what downtown has to offer. Stayed for my son’s bday. We did a ghost tour and the staff was great. Jasmine behind the bar so personable and a great smile. Alexis behind the desk was so nice and easy to talk to. Hope to stay again soon.

Amazing experience, only one downfall, the restroom. Was not at all private. Restroom was nice though. Also the hotel assumes we wanted valet parking and stated the valet was already included, like we didn't have a choice.

You can take a nice bath while also watching TV. My only minor complaint was that he TV had that horrible “motion smoothing” feature in that makes everything look like the sci-fi channel and I couldn’t find a way to turn it off. But again this was a very minor issue and didn’t really affect our stay.

The staff was amazing but Tia at the front desk was on another level!!! She took the time to show my 10 year old the hotel and tell him all about the history of the hotel and answered all his questions with so much patience and kindness. 5 star because of her!

Beautiful hotel! I loved the uniqueness, the design. The staff was very pleasant and friendly. The morning buffet was delicious! We even loved the smell when we entered, we commented on it every time we returned 😁

The hotel it self is great. The surrounding areas as it would be expected is kinda rough. That area of downtown Houston is not the best. Overall though the hotel is good.

Using city train to NRG was very convenient, room was awesome. My only complaint was towels didn't really dry you off, not very absorbent at all, very fluffy though.

This is a beautifully redone historic building in downtown Houston. The details are all very well thought out and it was such a nice stay. The night life around the hotel is also a lot of fun. We will be back!

It was quiet and had many options for eating and or drinking within a walkable distance. They only have valet for parking . Valet is extremely quick. The hotel was very cozy, clean. Beds were comfortable. Valet parking was very efficient. Check in/check out were very seamless. The rooms were very quiet despite being in a very busy area of downtown. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Houston without hesitation.

This hotel has historic charm, but it was also incredibly comfortable and well-designed. The room was spacious and very nicely decorated. It’s right in downtown so everything we wanted to do was in walking distance.

Not what it used to be. Hair in my bathtub, not cleaned properly. Wouldn’t stay at this hotel again. Bad service and nobody who works here knows what is going on.

Our first room was incredibly humid, carpet moist to the touch, bed linens were damp. The tub faucet was dripping on arrival leaving a large pool of water in it. We eventually asked to be moved. The 2nd room was better no excessive humidity but had a very loud AC. Unbearably loud even. We requested a 3rd room and that AC was even louder. I then asked to go with a hotel staff member to listen before assigning us. I was then told by hotel maintenance that all units would produce this same kind of sound. Basically, their AC is similar to motels. One front desk clerk was particularly rude during this entire period, growing increasingly frustrated with us for asking for different rooms. Other guests may have been able to handle the noise but we could not. Exhausted and unsatisfied with our stay we decided to ask for a refund and take our business elsewhere. The following hotel was a significantly better experience.

This is my go-to hotel to be centrally located in downtown Houston. It’s close to restaurants and activities, easily accessible and they even have a free shuttle that can take you in roughly a mile radius to your preferred destinations. I especially appreciate the guys at the valet who always fetch my car in a timely manner and take good care of it while it’s parked with them. They have a great bar with curated cocktails as well, which makes it entirely possible to not bother going out. Just a quick ride on the elevator, and you can hang out in a nice chill spot. I love their depression era happy hour too. I believe it lasts for 19 minutes, so drink up!

Only problem was that they do not have a service elevator. So, during mid-day you are always sharing the elevator with the housekeeping staff that is using the same elevator to move the towels, sheets etc to the basement for cleaning. For EV users, there is a fast charging station right adjoining the hotel, which is convenient.

We stayed here so we could attend some baseball games at the Astros stadium. We loved that this hotel was within walking distance. I liked that it was a historic building that had been converted into a hotel. Our room was spacious & comfortable and I would stay here again.

Located close to our venue for a show at Bayou Music Center which was easily walkable and plenty of food/drink options. We loved Hearsay across the street. Went for dinner and returned for dessert. Day Six Coffee was a great option, as well. Loved the overall boutique hotel experience we had here. Would return.

The place is adorable , the staff nice and very attentive. Excellent location and very convenient and reliable shuttle transport. Just a little more improvement and attention on cleaning and making the beds. Breakfast is fresh , plenty of choices with happy and professional servers .

The area where the hotel is located is pretty sketchy. Feels unsafe at night. The breakfast felt too poor when I compare it with other icon hotels I ve stayed at. The rooms were very nice. Can’t complain. Overall the hotel requires more love and care. The food definitely needs to level up

It wasn’t a cheap stay, and I’ll choose other hotels over this hotel in downtown Houston in the future. I’ll not waste my $2k for this type of services. It’s an over glorified business hotel.

Our stay here was excellent! We got married at the 1910 courthouse earlier that day checked into the ICON and celebrated! The breakfast the next morning was so good the room was so clean! Listen definitely get the whirlpool king room you’ll enjoy it solo or if you’re a couple. We loved the interior and the history behind the building. The Only downside there isn’t any self parking. You have to valet which was $58 with taxes. The valet price was a bit more than what we were expecting to pay. We also did ask for extra towels and mentioned to the hotel that we just got married, they wrote back and said something special would be on the way but when we checked in we didn’t find anything special we were expecting maybe a towel heart or something . All in all good experience we will be staying here again!

We were married here 5 years ago and the customer service is as excellent as it was back then. I love the nostalgic feel of the rooms and LOVE the bathrooms.

The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and had a fun historical aspect (it's an old bank!). Lot's of restaurants/bars in walking distance. Parking is an additional $, but it is convenient.

Property is downtown in area overrun by homeless population and party crowd. Brawl in the street one block from the hotel when we were returning from the Alley Theatre.

Great hotel, the staff is wonderful and the rooms were very nice. Breakfast buffet was really good as well. This will be our go to hotel when in Houston.

Distinctive hotel beautifully converted from a bank, but still with loving touches of its past. Our stay was in a top floor King room which was spacious, quiet and comfortable. Large bathroom with separate shower and deep bathtub. Best in-room coffee machine we have ever experienced. Top quality full breakfast buffet was included. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Our room had a very musty smell. The room was very spacious with a very large bathroom. Pet friendly, when I enquired, I was told there was a $50 deposit. This was incorrect, there is in fact a $50 charge per day for pets.

Excellent hotel. Nice rooms, very quiet surprisingly since it’s located in downtown Houston. Staff very helpful and nice. Breakfast you can order off the menu or have the breakfast buffet, very good either way!

The Front Desk was professional and friendly - thank you Tia! We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Great food! Also, the restaurant staff was very friendly and hard working. We were very comfortable dining there. Thanks to Jose, Gilberto, Romie, Daiss for the smiles and great attention. We would stay here again.

Location for our purpose was excellent, lobby was clean and comfortable. We felt safe. The room was stuffy with no working ac, we reserved with 3 adults in the room, were not given appropriate bathroom linens. Had to request and still could not get 3 face cloths, requested 3 “complimentary” waters and were refused “we only allow 2 complimentary waters per room per day”, spa level shampoo and body wash dispensers were empty in the shower, we asked to have them refilled, we were given body wash but no shampoo.

Everything was good until the valet tryed to charge me overnight fee for my husband who came at 4am and left at 9am.

This was a staycation for me and my lady, Twas her Birthday. I was greeted by the front desk by a woman Named Trish, she was wonderful and made this trip 5 stars from the start. Very friendly very accommodating, even helped with ideas to surprise my lady for her birthday. Perfect place to stay, I can go on and on about this Hotel. MUST STAY IF YOU visit Houston, walking distance to anything you’d need or want to see, rooms were perfect size and aesthetic. Very clean, and it had tons of history.

Stayed for a concert. Great location and had all the amenities we were looking for.
