When we arrived no one was at reception and no sign was there to indicate the person would return soon. It was quite unsettling to wait without any assurance a person would be available to check us in.

First the greeting from Leslie was top tier. He was so helpful, so kind & more importantly he was very respectful. I had so issues with my card. He was very patient while the issue got resolved even with a lobby full of waiting patrons he waited on me. After my issue was resolved I saw he moved on to the next person with ease and grace once again. I will definitely be back to this location & I hope he is there to check us in & out! He is a great access to this establishment!

This property asked for my debit card stating it was just for incidentals at time of checking in. The next day they charged my card for the price of the room even though it was already paid for through Orbitz. They denied the charge even though it clearly states on my account I was charged by Holiday Inn. I’m now, 2 months later, still fighting/disputing the charge through my bank! Avoid this property unless you like having unexpected unauthorized charges!

They started charging for parking, without it being listed as a charged when we booked. It's still a good deal, and the parking rate was not excessive, but it would have been nice to know before booking.

The mattress in the first room was terrible — it was literally broken apart. It was something horrible and extremely uncomfortable. The next night they moved me to another room, but the bathroom was full of hair everywhere, which was disgusting. There is never a manager available to speak with, and I honestly believe that’s why this hotel is such a mess. The employees are left alone without proper supervision, and the entire situation is chaotic.

They have a very good breakfast. Very clean rooms, and the Staff was helpful when we needed something. Check-in was easy and the Staff was very accommodating.

When I arrived the front desk informed me that for certain class of guests (business travel or personal travel) they have a new parking fee. I suggested that they should inform guests of that fact before check-in. I told him that Expedia would be happy to include that information if they were informed.

The room location was wonderful because it was away from the elevator and had a good view of the city street. The hotel is in the heart of the city and so close to everything you need regarding food and shopping. My husband ate the breakfast and enjoyed it and I love the free parking, microwave and refrigerators in the room because we come out there to go to concerts and things and often eat at the restaurants and have take out. The only setback was on the day of check out, our phone began ringing at 10:00 every 15 minutes as if they were rushing us out but the desk clerk informed me at check out that it was not the front desk so that was absolutely weird.

When I went into my room, the toilet was not flushed and the shampoo holder in the shower was broken and lying in pieces. That is an inexcusably uninviting and unprofessional look. I suggest you hire maintenance people that either understand how to flush toilets, or forbid them from urinating and defecating in guest rooms. Breakfast is the by-now-typical at all 2-star hotels: powdered eggs and that same 3-4 soggy frozen items. The road noise in the room comes through the HVAC system, making rooms facing the road unacceptably noisy. Otherwise, the room was clean. My compliments to housekeeping. 6/10

I liked the cleanliness of the room, comfortable bed, and the convenience of the location.

A/C was a little squeaky and there was a slight smell in the room, but it didn’t bother us, and we still slept good. Comfortable mattress and pillows, clean room.

Due to the Rodeo the Hotel raised the price by twice the amount we pd almost 400$ for one night.

Clean Room and Comfortable Bed Shocked that hotel did not provide complimentary water considering room was $350+/night? ..........but instead charged $2/tiny bottle! Quite tacky!

Staying at a nice hotel for my daughter's pig show at HLSR is great, however, plus having to pay for parking so my vehicle don't get towed, unreasonable. I was staying at the hotel but had to paying an extra $7.00 a day to park, crazy and unprofessional. I understand charging other people who are NOT staying at the hotel to park, but not the ones who are actually staying there and paying almost $600 to stay.

It was clean. Somebody decided to choose violence from the front desk and thought it would be a great idea to call me at 11:45pm to tell me I needed to sign for something they said they would bring it to the room waited for over 20 minutes and nobody even knocked on the door mind you I was sleeping when they called. After waiting for over 20 minutes I called the front desk and they told me they came to the room.... lies! The front desk then tells me oooo you can sign the paper in the morning. So why wake me up and scare me out of my sleep to sign for something that could have been done in the morning? The level of stupidity was astonishing. The best part I walked to the front desk in the morning and there was another guest complaining about the same thing happening to him. Personally I will not be staying here again. The lack of accountability and the lack of common sense is concerning. The mattress have been used and abused dents on both side. Clearly they need new mattress I had to sleep in the middle because if not I was sinking into the mattress. Imagine owing your mattress for decades and your body dent is already formed into the mattress thats what I experienced.

Stayed two nights. First night was great. Second night there was music blaring from midnight til 430 in the morning. Called the front desk at 1:30 and 3:30 to complain. LOVE this Holiday Inn! This is the second time we’ve stayed here, and probably will again numerous times since we have family in the area. The other thing we loved is the newness of the place. Lots of thought given to extra shelves in the room, all the right charging stations by the bed and the desk. Our room was facing a busy road, but the soundproofing was excellent. Only one thing was puzzling…we were given an “accessible” room, which had a bathtub! Very few people with mobility issues would find that easy to get in and out of. The room and bathroom were clean and smelled clean. The front desk staff were pleasant. The breakfast was acceptable. The area felt safe. There was some noise from families down the hall but although there was lots of traffic outside the noise was negligible.

Everything was clean and prestine (except for one of the hand towels, it like make-up stains), the bed, covers and pillows were so comfy we almost were late for check out, it smells amazing throughout the hotel.

Did a late check in the early morning with no problem, as this was my primary concern. Staff was friendly & courteous to greet us. The entire room including the bathroom were clean. I travel to Houston from AZ to go to MD Anderson for my cancer. This is my go to hotel. Rooms are always quiet and very safe neighborhood. Staff always nice and attentive.

Hotel was overall clean, but the bathroom tile looked gross and the carpet needs to be replaced. Dove hair and body products was nice, but the lotion that said “Dove” was definitely not.

This is a great hotel for the price. It’s clean, renovated and modern. That said, it’s not a luxury hotel and it’s nothing fancy. It has a nice, but simple breakfast - mainly commercial/ processed foods. But it has a nice breakfast area. The room was spacious and the bathroom seemed new. I’d definitely stay there again.

This is the second time my husband and I stayed here . We stayed here a few years ago and it was just the same. Staff is very nice . The hotel is very clean . We slept so good we never sleep in and it was just so comfortable we didn’t realize it was sunny out because they have amazing shades on their windows. We walked to NRG and it was not a bad walk at all. 15 or less . Very convenient. And a lot of places to eat near by . We will definitely be going back on our next trip to Houston!!!

The hotel was clean and the beds/pillows were comfortable. We had trouble with the shower not having much water pressure. It was nice and hot, but the water pressure was very weak.

Great location for sporting events or conferences as you can walk and avoid having to take an Uber.

Property was very clean inside and out. I can't rate the free breakfast because I havent had it yet; as I am writing this review on my 1st night at the hotel. I asked for a complimentary late check-out and Leslie was more the willing to oblige. Great customer service always starts with your first contact and Leslie made our arrival very pleasant after a long 13 hour drive. Bed is firm, but comfy. I would recommend staying at this property.

Great Hotel

IF ATTENING A CONCERT AT NRG: Great hotel. Super clean and comfortable. We were going to a show at NRG and booked here to be in walking distance. It is somewhat of a longer walk, but we found out when we arrived that there are pedi-cabs available before and after the shows. There is also no hotel bar so instead we took a quick Uber to the Holiday Inn next to NRG stadium before the show started to grab a drink. There was security in the parking lot checking room keys when we arrived back to hotel after the show. Breakfast was 10/10!

Staff workers didn’t speak English so very hard to ask for towels and wash cloths.

We loved the free breakfast but checking in was a hassle . It seems as the hotel was overbooked for the weekend .

This hotel was super clean, smelt nice and clean. Every employee of the hotel we came across was super friendly, especially the front desk! The break was better than most hotel breakfasts with multiple options to choose from. The room stayed nice and cold for us and the bed was soft and comfortable! But I loved how clean everything was, and they provide nice size bottles of all dove products for hair, skin, and lotion care! I don’t have input as far as the pool, but the location was amazing if you’re attending the NRG Stadium for an event, and about a short 10-15 min walk tops! Definitely recommend this hotel!

Booked to be close to the NRG Stadium for a concert and the galleria area for shopping. The check-in process was quick, easy. Staff were friendly. The rooms were up to date and clean. I would definitely stay again.

The pull out sofa bed had soiled sheets as if it had not been cleaned in months. The sofa cushions were also dirty with food and just flipped over to hide. Which shows that house keeping just dusted and never looked. The pillows smelled of mold which made sleeping even worse. Not the best experience.

Everything was great. My only complaints: the flashing light on the fire alarm located on the ceilimg over the bed, and I would suggest more coffee and cups in the room, especially if you don't provide complimentary water.

We always stay at this hotel when we come to Houston for the Mecum auction. The hotel is clean and the service very friendly. My only critique this time was the breakfast was just ok compared to previous visits. But that was not enough for me to change my rating.

The girl that worked the desk seemed to be in the back a lot. They need a bell or something to alert them that guests are at front desk. Happened a couple times while I sitting out there

I would never stay here again. There was a group of motorcycles staying in. They partied and read their engines outside my room until 1 o’clock in the morning. The next morning, same thing. At about 1245 I called and they were unable to do anything. Apparently the apartment building behind the hotel had also called. When I asked for a refund for the second night they said I had to call the manager in two days. I left after the first night because I was so exhausted and found another hotel.

We had a Saturday there to for a whole day to rest. The electricity was out all day, until 7:45pm. It was hot and no tv. Or it flickered at best. We basically had to walk outside to cool off. No rest. Manager will not respond to any requests for a refund.

Clean property, comfortable bed, helpful staff, good breakfast. No issues with my stay! The parking lot does have a "park at your own risk" sign but I did not experience any issues.

Opened door without even knocking twice. In the morning around 7 someone also tried to open the door without any notice thought someone was trying to come into the room just for them to leave the bill at the door. Again no notice!!!!!!!! Disgusting service.

Absolutely amazing experience! Dior the front desk manager was soo great! We arrived early due to a major mix up with my daughter showing lambs & she saw how exhausted we were after driving in from the early morning hours. She made sure my daughter & I were safe & I cannot express enough how professional & caring she was. This was my best experience over 30 years of travel. The hotel was spotless, breakfast was great, beds were beyond comfortable & she put us in a super quiet room to rest for an hour till we had to head over to get the animal at HLSR. I cannot say enough about Dior & the hotel. We stayed for 3 days & everything was perfect!

No shuttle to Nrg center so wasn’t convenient for us. Parking issues with vehicles being stolen. But the staff was very friendly.

My family and I stayed at this hotel during the rodeo, and it was great overall! The room was spotless, and housekeeping did an excellent job of keeping everything fresh without needing to ask—they restocked towels on their own, which was a nice touch. The bed was comfortable, and I got a great night’s sleep after a long day at the event. The location was convenient, and the overall service was top-notch. Highly recommended for anyone attending the rodeo or just looking for a clean, well-maintained stay!

Very close to the Houston livestock show and rodeo. Not really close enough to walk, but easy enough to Uber. Everything about the hotel was super clean.

Stay was good. I was nervous because we were told to get everything out of our vehicle because the night before there were several vehicles in the parking lot that were broken into overnight.

VERY disappointed. Stayed here for the Houston rodeo and thought the location would be great. WRONG, close to TWENTY cars/trucks were broken into within the two days we stayed. Hotel staff are aware this is an issue and chose to not disclose that there are only cameras facing the FRONT of the building/parking lot. Security saw our truck get broken into and wrote a note for the front office, didn’t call the police or file a report. The security is useless. We learned of the other break ins via other guests staying. Not only did we experience theft/vandalization, but upon receiving our room keys, we were given keys of an OCCUPIED room. Barely received an apology, just an excuse that it happens sometimes. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Stayed here for an event at NRG Park and the location was super convenient! Staff was all incredibly friendly and helpful (there was an error on the morning of my checkout that made my room key stop working before I could get all my stuff out, but the front desk employee fixed it very quickly with no fuss), the room and lobby were all clean, and I felt safe in my room. Would absolutely stay here again for other events in Houston!

We stay at Holiday Inn Express once a month for my husband’s visits to MD Anderson. It is clean, comfortable and offers light breakfast. Highly recommend.

I had requested an accessible room and had even called ahead to make sure it would be available and to advise I would be a late check in. When I got there, there was no accessible rooms for high I needed because I had knee surgery the next morning. The facility also had no working tvs in the entire hotel. The front clerk kept blaming Expedia yet I had called their facility before to make those arrangements. I ended up canceling the next time bc of the accessibility issue and drove 6 hours back home instead.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The facility was clean.

This was my second time staying at this hotel.

The room was clean and the hotel was nice, however we checked in and went to our room on the way down the staff told us very nonchalantly that there was no cable till monday and we would not be getting a discoubt because it was not the hotels problem. We were forced to stay because our room was non refundable and everything was booked elsewhere. P

No TV available. The compensation offered was not reasonable. The hotel offered to check out at no charge for 1 night but me and my family were going to stay for 3 nights. The offer to check out was to do the check out at the second night. When I requested another compensation offer, the hotel staff declined any other possible compensations.

Excellent location for our NFL game. Felt safe walking to the stadium and nearby restaurant during the day. Probably wouldn’t after dark. Good breakfast, gym small but had enough for me. Room was great

The room I stayed in was clean and housekeeping made sure my bed had fresh linens and towels everyday of my stay. The staff I interacted with was amazing. I forgot her name but she was at the front desk most of the time. Just a lovely human being.

We came into town to attend a football game. Our check in was easy. The front desk lady was so nice and helpful. As she was the entire stay. The room was very spacious, clean and tidy. The location is excellent if you’re heading to NRG for an event. It about 3/4 of a mile walk and only took about 15/20 minutes tops. The area is a little on the rough side but you wouldn’t know it when you’re at the hotel because their grounds are nice and they have a courtesy officer who stays in the parking lot at night and keeps an eye on everything. Overall I think this was a great stay and the price was right. And Kudo to the hotel staff. You’re doing a nice job.
