Aloft by Marriott Houston by the Galleria

I recently stayed here and I was blown away by the service. From the moment I arrived, the staff greeted me with a smile, they made me feel right at home. I had a quick early check-in and was able to request great window view of the city. I also loved the amenities on the property that includes a gym, indoor pool, a bar, breakfast and indoor/outdoor lodging areas. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back!.

I love the cleanliness and the staff was awesome our plane got canceled and they was so helpful keeping us in our same room even tho we booked 3rd party it was great I didn't like that there was no do not disturb signs so housekeeping was going in the room when weren't in it to clean and knocking on the door trying to come in while we were sleep to clean but the fact that they wanted to keep it cleaned help not be upset

The location was great and friendly staff. The broken elevator, parking was not included, and room was not the best.

Location There was only one elevator working during our 4 night stay. Had to wait for a long time for the elevator to show up. We showed up at 5 pm and no rooms were ready. We had to wait in the lobby for about half an hour and ended up being late for our event that evening. We were told check in was 3:00. Also only 1 ice machine and it was on the ground floor. It was a big issue especially with having to wait so long for the elevator. Stairs were not an option since we were on the 10th floor. Our beds were never made and no cleaning by housekeeping. We had to ask for towels, clean cups, etc.

The property was in a nice areas. Very close to Galleria mall. Luis and Morgan did a great job with setting up our rooms to being on the same floor as it was 4 of us and we had reserved two rooms. We were only like two rooms away which made it easy for us to go from one room to the other.

Location very walkable to shops and dining. Secure parking garage. Nice room WITH Recycling Bin!!! Nice decor. Fun lobby with pool table and fireplace. Lovely outdoor patio with firepit. A couple of times the security entrance/exit to the parking garage was not functioning. BUT they had people working on it and it didn't delay anyone more than a few minutes.

The property itself was gorgeous and clean. The amount of noise, the smell of weed, and the one working elevator (with contact high to boot) left me underwhelmed.

Besides this, and something that every hotel deals with, a large group of guests having what seemed to be a giant party in the hotel rooms. The property did respond to it but it took quite some time and continued into the early morning of the hours. Overall, I would recommend poverty. It has plenty of things that you can walk to and the staff was friendly and efficient.. My puppy and I were definitely comfortable. 👍

First, I booked a single, king size bed but was given a double queen room. This isn’t the end of the world but if I booked and paid for something, the expectation is that’s what I will receive. Next, there was only one working elevator that randomly went out of service while we were waiting for it. The most upsetting part of our stay was the fact that they were doing construction on our floor. Around 08:30 in the morning on a Friday morning, the banging started, no prior warning whatsoever. In my opinion, that part of the hotel should’ve been closed off if construction was going to take place or not place someone in the room diagonal room. However, I will say that the staff was very friendly and spoke every time we talked through the lobby area so that’s a plus.

The hotel is undergoing renovations, so be prepared to work around light construction. Only one elevator was working, so there was always a line at the elevator. It it took forever to get an elevator to come pick you up. I was on the 9th floor and had to wait a lot, and we stopped at just about every floor going down. Sadly, the architect or interior designer got the lighting in the bathroom all wrong. They picked a cool "industrial" style light, but it is situated such that it is behind you when you are at the sink, and casts a shadow on the mirror so you are shaving or putting on make-up in the dark. There is no light at the mirror to illuminate your face. Terrible design. See the attached photo.

Hotel under renovations. Staff was ok gave me a room at first that was not ready when we entered. Had to get another room got stuck in elevator. Front desk stated they were not going to charge me for early check in but I was never informed I was going to be charged as I did not ask to check in early she just told me she can get me a room now. She than said she would credit me one night of parking which they never did.

We usually always stay here but this time the TV did not work- we called the front desk and stated that they were sending a technician. Never sent the technician and our room was extremely hot! It would not cool down.

Nothing, I felt like I was a bother because I asked if I could have the a refund on one night because they didn’t change the bed sheets in the room and the blood. Bloody sheets

The beds slept very well Breakfast was the worst, extremely limited items available, items not really cooked (mircowaved) insted. The personal contact and interaction with the cook or perparer of the food was also horrible, he could not communicate in english and could not really take your order. There was only coffee and tea as items to drink, no juice and not even water.

Mainly the location of the property since is in galleria When I first got to the room after a long day of travel, I wanted to take a shower and did not have any shower gel in the room. It took 1 hour to get and that is because I had to ask one of the housekeepers that was servicing a room next to mine she was kind enough to install it in the room. After this it was another 20 minutes when I got a houseman knock on the door with the shower after I had taken a shower. Finally there was a strange smell coming from the room next to mine I did not stand it so I just decided to check out earlier. When I told front desk the lady in the counter was super nice and “complement my parking” but when I left the property I was still charged for the parking

My shower door would not close and the left sink leaked. I ran water and it went to the floor so I put the stopper to keep from wetting the floor.

Hotel is under construction and although it is pretty clean you can still smell paint lingering and they are making noises in the morning. Not a good fit for those trying to relax!

The hotel smelt bad, the hallways smelt wired the tv looked like it was hit so you could barely see on it. The bed was comfortable that’s about it.

The staff, especially the manager was amazing. She went above and beyond to ensure my cousin and I had a terrific birthday weekend trip. We were shown top tier service. The room was excellent, the staff was very friendly, and even told us placing to visit. Very great hotel.

We had to switch rooms after a leak from room above. Staff was pleasant and polite and accommodating. Other than that it was good. I would consider staying again primarily because I like Alofts and the staff here were all great my entire stay.

No big complaints. BUT the hotel needs updating. Signs were outdated with faded/missing lettering. The room was clean, but the tub had chipped paint on the floor. I would recommend tiling the shower to prevent paint chipping and wall paper from rusting - it looks gross. Room was clean, so I know it's being cleaned, it's just not aesthetically pleasing.

When I arrived the check in person gave me a key to the wrong room. My bathroom was dirty, I had my iron exchanged 3 times and still didn’t work, my tv did not work and the phone that was in my room was just for decoration ( did not work)

Location is ok but the bathroom door was makkng big noise like want to fall/break when you open. AC is too loud to put you to sleep. The ceiling look like you in the basement showing concrete. Staffs at front desk is very nice.

Really great stay for the price, its not a new building but very comfy loft vibe. Went out and came back, played billiards and jumbo Jenga in the lobby. Only downside was the remotes do not work. Will not change the channel past the hotels infomercial channel. Staff was amazing tho, i wish i remembered her name at front desk because she had a beautiful spirit!

I booked to pay at property and was still charged after I was told there were no rooms available. I spoke to someone else at their corporate location that ensured me they did have rooms at the time of my check in. Really frustrating situation.

The room was nice and so were all of the staff. The galleria is within walking distance.The bar staff were exceptional. The coffee is terrible.

Stay was good overall. The parking charges were the onyl thing that I wasn't happy about.

The lamp was broken. There were no extra blankets in the room. There was only a small bar of soap and no body wash. I had to go find someone to come to the front desk after waiting 20 minutes. It was not the experience I expected at all.

Horrible, horrible, horrible! I had to switch rooms 3 times due to all the issues at the hotel. HVAC unit not working. Debilitating rooms, shower floor paint coming off the tiles, mattresses sunken in and worn out. TV’s not working

Fire alarm showed false alarm for the whole night. I had to change the room. In addition, house keeping are extremely noisy and talking all the time starting from 8am. And the rooms are noisy too, I can hear what next room said.

Every member of the staff at this location was amazing during my weekend day. Being that I’m one of those people that once I find something I like, I stick to it,I definitely will be back here on my next trip to Houston.

The rooms aren't much better. There's some slippery film or some kind of lubicrated substance on the wooden floors in my room and I don't recommend walking barefoot. The desk chair (see photos) is HORRIBLE. The plastic has fallen off the arm rests and you'll scratch your skin on them. And I won't speculate on what stained the seat. Oh yea... check out the side table (see photos). Completely rotting away. The TV remote barely works. The AC sounds like it belongs in Nascar engine. The toilet refuses to flush without a healthy dose of wishful thinking. I've been staying at Aloft Hotels for years. But this level of disrespect to guests is unacceptable. UPGRADE AND RENOVATE THIS HOTEL! On the positive, the staff is on point. And there was breakfast available on a holiday so that was good and pretty tasty too. In the meantime, travelers... avoid this place.

The property is extremely run down and not kept . The lobby is misleading of what the rooms actually look like . Structurally it needs work . The room ceilings were crumbling and the painting of the showers doors and crevices are unappealing. Typically Alofts from city to city are good but I was very disappointed with this location .

The only positive of this property,the young men at the front desk were helpful and kind. Shame on this hotel for the poor quality rooms, maintenance, and property. My double queen room was ran down, the bed was peeling it's trim. The beds were made up with two different sets of bedding, one without a duvet, just a back up blanket, the showers were rusty and water stained.The AC wasnt working properly at ome point i woke up in full sweat because the air was hot coming from the AC. Thw room had a bad smell of mildew, so i went across the road to Cvs for a air freshner. A few other guest I traveled with had to have their room switched one with no AC just a fan...In Houston? The outside property has so much potential but is not maintained. The patio furniture was dirty and wet, the firepit had garbage in it and never worked. The water fall is rusty and so badly stained not even running water. I'm hugely disappointed in this property and it was my first stay at Aloft, leading me to say Never again
