I enjoyed my stay, will definitely book again!

Was very expensive for the neighborhood/ location... was a decent hotel and was clean but almost $200 a night in Hopewell... really?

We stayed there to attend our daughter's graduation at Fort Lee which made the location very convenient. Rooms are clean and quiet. Breakfast is very good and fresh. the only thing i found unusual was the $ 5 parking fee per car per day and they did not even bother to ask for the cars specs even after i offered/asked. Other than that it was a great stay

They charged us $5.00 to park our car in their parking lot. We were not in the middle of a big city. Was not pleased with the charge.

Yes I did NOT like the idea that I had to pay $10 to park at the hotel.

As other reviewers mentioned, hotel was very clean and the breakfast had a great selection - better than at other hotels in this price range. My only issues were that the bathtub was very slippery and my young daughter slipped and fell getting into the shower and injured herself. I am not sure there is anything the hotel could do to prevent this but please use caution when getting into the tubs. Also, we were put in room 110, which is right next to the room where breakfast is prepped, and I woke up to music blaring from that room at about 6am when the gentleman preparing the food started working. I don't really want to complain about this, because I want the gentleman to keep supplying good food and enjoying himself while doing so, however make sure you're not in room 110 if you want to sleep in.

The room size is too small, and price would have been set accordingly. The tap water flow is too slow, and this would been inspected and maintained regularly.

I understand those hotels that do in a city area (limited parking /keeps others out) or possibly even a high end resort area. But here?? There was plenty of open parking available. Not needed here. Just felt like this was a “management /private owner” decision and not a corporate policy. Desk clerk was very apologetic and we didn’t blame her but it just felt wrong. The price of the room was high as it was-this just added insult to injury. Actually, if you want to bump the price up Just add $5 to the fee. You’d have less annoyed customers.

Definitely in the hood, couldn’t tell staff or guest from those walking around outside the hotel. The room was very dirty, bare minimum cleaning. We ended up checking out a day early and finding a new hotel because there were roaches in the shower.

The sink was clogged and the iron was missing in the room. It was a pet room that smelled like a dirty pet the whole time. The staff was the greatest!

Nonetheless, everything else was exceptional. The rooms and common areas were clean. The rooms had been updated with new sinks, lights, showers, furniture, microwave, fridge, TV. Bedding was clean and comfortable. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also exceptional with variety of eggs and meats, bread, bagels and tasty muffins, waffles, fresh fruit, and fresh coffee brewed by the cup. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

No pool. No restaurants around. All the family friendly restaurants about 15 minutes faraway at Colonial Heights area. It doesn’t feel safe after certain time around the hotel area.

The staff was AMAZING. There was a little mess up with the room number written on my room key holder…the room number didn’t exist lol…a wonderful staff member in the laundry room and her boss generously helped me and figured out the correct room number for me as I had a number of bags I was lugging around. The hotel was very clean and welcoming. The room was super comfortable. Breakfast was great with a number of options to choose from.

Breakfast was great....outstanding! The water pressure in the bathroom sink was poor. The hot and cold lever was coded incorrectly. Hot was actually on the right but the lever showed the left. Took awhile to figure out the faulty fixture. Called desk and offered another room after unpacking. This has been an on going failure never corrected. Can't believe no one else has had this problem! Fix it!!

To top it off they texted me when I got to the room to make sure everything was okay and the textred again as we were about to leav, I thought this was a very personal touch. The bed was soft. For the amount of money spent for hotels, Holiday Inn should have a turn down service. We shouldn't have to ask for extra towels or supplies to clean our own room.

The side outer doors didn’t work on the side we were coming in and neither did the elevator. I stay every year for VSU Homecoming and it always seems to be one or the other. It’s familiar and close so I’ll be checking in again this year.

Turned out a vandal attempted what appeared to be a break in by seriously smashing the outdoor window of her room. It was very distressing and frightening. She was, of course, moved to another room, police were called and reports made. Interestingly, when she & I went to look at the window from the outside, we noticed another window with similar damage on the same floor. When the gal checked us in, she asked if we minded being on the 1st floor. I thought that was an odd question. Now I know why she asked. I'm of the opinion that my sister should be reimbursed for having a experienced such a frightening and unsafe episode in your hotel.

Our check in was smooth, the room was spotless, beds comfy, 5 mins from base. 10/10! The breakfast was so good and the young lady who prepared it was so kind, and loved seeing her smile. While my son is stationed here this will most definitely be my repeat booking!!

The property was fine! It was a slow check-in process and complimentary bags were not automatically handed to guess upon check-in [you had to ask for it]. We booked a one-night stay so we wouldn't have to drive home to Richmond after catching a show at the Beacon Theater. The staff was friendly and the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was also unexpectedly delicious with a lot of options. We will consider staying there again for our next trip!

I have traveled quite a bit and have had to stay at so many Hotels but I think this is the cleanest and quietist place I have ever stayed in. The staff from house keeping, front desk and the lady keeping the good breakfast going was very pleasant. Absolutely will stay here in Hopewell, Va again

I’m used staying in 4-5 star hotels during business travel. This hotel was absolutely spotless from the lobby to my room. My room was the cleanest room I think I’ve ever seen anywhere in any hotel. It was also very comfortable. That staff was excellent.

Tbh there’s probably mold in every hotel to some extent, but it’s too hard for me to ignore when I can actually see the mold as well as signs of water damage. Expedia was a huge help in getting us a refund for the second night. If you just need a hotel for a couple of nights and aren’t sensitive to mold, this place is fine for a short stay. Otherwise, I would stay elsewhere.

The property was as advertised. We were supposed to have received a king bed and got a room with two double beds instead. We got to the property late and we just wanted to shower and relax. We were not informed that we would be receiving a different size at check in.

Our room smelled like no other yet we had a second room that didn’t smell. The staff did not stop the noisy kids running up and down the halls at 6 am and at midnight. The pool was completely covered yet advertised it was open. The food was not good served at breakfast. I have stayed at holiday inn expresses in different parts of the country and this one was by far the worst. The area it’s in is straight ghetto and everyone shuts their doors at 9 pm.

The girl at the check in was kind enough but said things like, I am new and I dont have access to that. We checked in @6pm and left @11pm. The room was hot 74 and the bed was like sleeping on a sheet of ply-wood. The button to the elevator was very dirty. There was blk mold under the sink.

They say they have a pool but there wasn’t one to use. Also, there was a bit of a musty smell in the room that should be addressed. Otherwise it was what you’d expect and it was clean, which is always a first priority when choosing a hotel.

This was a super cute little weekend get away :) I was there for military stuff, and it was just far enough from the base to where I got there in time and that I didn’t hear the flag horns go off, I also LOVED THAT ITS ACROSS THE STREET FROM WAWA I pretty much live at Wawa. So that was a hugeeeee bonus. The only thing I was sad about was the Netflix didn’t work on my tv :( but other than that EVERYTHING was perfect ♥️

My room was not cleaned when I checked in and I have pictures to prove it. I didn’t like that there was no manager on Duty the whole weekend that I was there and I did not speak with one about my issues Sad. The lady at the front desk said I would leave a note about my complaints and someone would call me I haven’t received a call back yet I checked out on July 30 it’s now August the 1 I’m so disappointed ☹️ with this hotel.

Roach in room. Mold on shower. Room phone did not work. Paper thin walls could hear talking next door. The pleasant woman at the desk moved us to a room without a roach.

This hotel appears to Be semi new and modern. Staff appears to always be cleaning. Very helpful with any issues. The only issue I had was the cleaning of the room is wasn’t awful, but it definitely could have been better. There was someone’s hair in the shower..good thing I travel with my own bleach cleaning products. Areas were very dust as well. The bed was comfortable. The area isn’t the best, with hotels to the left and right of the property. Wawa just across the street is very convenient. We will book again when we are in town!

Our room was described as non-smoking, yet the entire thing smelled like a cigarette that someone tried to cover up with a spray - I had a stuff nose the entire night from it and our clothes smell like it. It was humid in the room, so the sheets felt damp and the air conditioning direction couldn't be adjusted, so if you were in the bed closest to it, you got blasted in the face with air.

Will stay again if I’m ever in this area again. No complaints from me all staff was very helpful and friendly

We reserved a king bed and we’re told that Expedia overbooked. We were placed in a double queen. There isn’t much to do and limited eating options around the area.

I liked the updated furniture and fixtures. It was clean and roomy. Everything was in order, and the best part was that Whitney was an Amazing and Excellent host. She was friendly, cheerful, kind and professional. I would definitely stay there again.

The staff & hotel were great. I arrived 3 hours early and was checked in immediately. The rooms were clean and in good condition.

What I don’t like was the girl from the reception, she wasn’t very friendly and got an attitude, she works in a front desk, she’s the face and no a very good one. She no even welcome us.
