    The only good thing was that the parking was right outside my door. This hotel is more like a four-hour motel. I had to change rooms twice before they found one without stains on the floor, dirty sheets, working A/C, or a leaky fridge. The pictures on Expedia are very misleading, as well as the locations, as there are three locations all within a six to seven-block vicinity, and the hotel where I stayed has issues.

    The room wasn't that clean but the bed was clean the floor was just a little bit dirty everything else was okay there's a lot of pools and the best part is the barbecue if we didn't have a kitchen we still go outside and barbecue and parking is free I grew up in the new place so it was okay

    Outlets next to bed did not work. Lights on night stand didn’t work. Door locks are from last century. Required a cash deposit so better have cash. Check in was horrible. Didn’t seem like a bad area of town but based on the security you would think it’s in the slums. Towels where maybe one ply and old. No place in bathroom to put stuff. Traveler be aware!

    I checked in on 2/27 around 1AM. The evening attendant was very accommodating and even came outside to help me find a parking spot. I had a completely different experience at checkout. On Monday before the 11AM checkout I went to the front desk and asked the attendant if I could check out at 11:30. She said it would cost me to do so. I had already spent hundreds of dollars and most hotels extended checkouts as I courtesy. she insisted that it was the policy. I declined the charge and said I’d be back shortly for my $50 cash deposit. I returned to my room on the ground floor, grabbed by luggage, and returned to the front desk with my partner to check out. We waited patiently as she attended to another guest. When she was done I slid the room key through the porthole. As I did so I repeated to her “It’s not the money. It’s the principle.” She responded “If it’s not the money why are you arguing?” I pointing out that at my last stay at the hotel there wasn’t a fee for it.” She then said that I should stop being cheap especially since it wasn’t a lot of money. At that point my partner started responding on my behalf and told her she was unprofessional and shouldn’t speak to me that way. She escalated the situation and called me a “broke N-word.” My partner and I both lost our tempers and started yelling at her. She further escalated the situation by Face-timing a male and said he was on the way. We left before seeing a manager because we had to make our flight. Never going back.

    This place was awful. The pictures make it look better than it is. When we arrived, the young woman was so rude to us. I was waiting for her attention, and then stepped to the window when she asked me what I needed. When I told her I had a reservation she responded by saying “so?” We went back-and-forth in conversation for a little while and then she told me to step aside and she helped a person who had apparently been there, but was also struggling to work with her. We eventually got our room and it was disgusting. You wouldn’t want to even put your feet on the floor. When we went to leave our room, we went through a door and then there was another door to the outside. That door was jammed so tight that we could not get out. We pushed and pushed and pushed, and finally I flew through the door and fortunately did not fall on the pavement. Thinking maybe this was just a fluke, the second time I had to go through that door , it was stuck again. They also make you leave a cash deposit for the room. Just be warned, do not stay there! Don’t be fooled by the pictures.

    One of the pictures to advertise the hotel show the beach close by, my mistake the beach is 3 miles away, why we didn’t leave? My wife has a condition and I can’t just move her from one place to another that easy, I don’t ask for anything was my mistake, I just don’t want someone else go through our bad experience

    If your in a pinch and just need a place to throw ya body for a night or two fine stay here but this place is ehhh a bit sketchy some of the staff is just so nasty and so rude also you can’t have any visitors at all which I understand no one can stay the night but not even during the day hours no visitors still and I think that’s ridiculous for 80$ a night I’m paying to be here I should still be allowed to have company

    The front desk staff are the ones that made my stay much better than it could have been! Thank you Steven for looking out for me & Jennifer for everything! The people checking in was pretty weird & some rude but as long as I knew my boundaries I was ok. My fault for asking to be put in the front for safety & that’s where it was quite noisy!

    CVS & Dollar Store within walking distance. Air conditioning kept room cool. Room was very clean though old. TV's worked good. Three small pools were very clean with ample chairs. No hair dryer in the room ,but I was able to get one at the main office. Fridge & microwave in room. No coffee maker. The grounds/landscaping are charming. Water Zoomba & Bingo nights. Rooms need updating but for a Ma/Pa type hotel, it was just fine. About 1.8 miles from the beach. Use "Ride Circuit" App. $2 to the beach!

    There was blood on the sheets and bugs in the bed. The property is rough. We had to leave and stay in a different hotel. Jennifer at the front desk is nice and helpful but the property itself is gross.

    This place is terrible. “Security” door was taped open and supposed guard walking around it. Filthy hallway and can see light all around door edges. Can’t sit straight on the potty as there’s no room for knees. Loudest street noise ever. Checked out after one sleepless night and could not get a refund for the following night, which we had prepaid for. Manager never even called us after we left word to do so and what problems were. Never again!

    The bed a bit too soft and squishy. I slept like a log but getting in and out was a challenge. The bathroom and hot shower were good, but the towels were shorter than I like. Speaking of shorter, the commode was child size, very short. I wanted to have my bicycle securely with me in the room. They thought locking it up outside was an ok idea. They’re obviously not cyclists.

    Don’t waste time staying at this trashy place. They need to burn it down and do a full renovation. The sheets weren’t clean the quilts has holes. Housekeeping just brings you one towel no cleaning or taking out the trash etc. rooms are extremely tiny. Walls are paper thin so you can hear the guests next to you and above you. Do not stay at this trashy place! I wouldn’t recommend. Booked 4 nights that were non refundable but discovered other places afterwards that were much nicer for the $560 I wasted to stay here last min. They need to renovate for all that they charge to be here. Other than the location the entire place is trash!

    The room was very uninsulated. We could hear all the cars that drove by, and people talking outside till very late hours. We had to withdraw cash at the ATM to leave a deposit since they don't accept card for that.

    Impossible to check in before 4, cannot leave your luggage. We had early flight had to keep our luggage all day. The rooms are worn down. Would not stay there again, if you are a 4 star person do not go there.

    The problem is the Latina girl working. She is working right now, Richard/Richard Partners/ANYBODY ABOVE THE PECKING ORDER OF ‘Paula’, and this kind of human, along with the exhausted, both phsycally/mentally unattractive Paula who showed her disgusting self, sadly. Paula not only dresses like a homeless person, has the physical appearance of a 2.5 out of 10 at best, but her work competency and ethic are at a 2 out of 10. As someone who worked in hotels for several years and as a vendor for hotels for another 10 years, it’s truly a rare combo to come across such a low iq, inefficient hospitality worker, such as PAULA. Check out my Google review on 1.27.26, I am EL I’d like to discuss why such low class humans like Paula are placed in these customer interactive positions? Paula’s best days are behind her, it’s obvious when interacting with this lost soul, as her apathy and low class personality shine.. or display for all to see. So read the Google review, and if you are Richard, call me, I live in Hollywood. While Paula is a low wage worker who comes across as trying her best albeit her low intelligence and below average looks, customers deserve better. Thanks Eric :)

    The room was ancient the “stick on” tiles throughout the room had shrunk over the decades and were separated at the seams indiscriminately. The TV didn’t work, one lamp’s lamp didn’t work but the outlet in the base did work and the other lamp worked but its outlet didn’t. In the morning, trying get out at around 8:30 am there was no one in the cage. Banging on the door got nowhere. Calling got me recording saying I was first in line. When answered I asked where the heck the clerk was? He said “I’m at the other location!” I said “ I’m in the hole fifty dollars and I have to catch a plane!” He said I’ll be there in 3 minutes. 5 minutes later an elderly gent with a Brit accent showed up, returned my 50, and when I told him of the deficiencies he said: “You should have called, I’d have sent someone right up to repair it”. Right.

The TV didn’t work, one lamp’s lamp didn’t work but the outlet in the base did work and the other lamp worked but its outlet didn’t. In the morning, trying get out at around 8:30 am there was no one in the cage. Banging on the door got nowhere. Calling got me recording saying I was first in line. When answered I asked where the heck the clerk was? He said “I’m at the other location!” I said “ I’m in the hole fifty dollars and I have to catch a plane!” He said I’ll be there in 3 minutes. 5 minutes later an elderly gent with a Brit accent showed up, returned my 50, and when I told him of the deficiencies he said: “You should have called, I’d have sent someone right up to repair it”. Right.

The location at street level in a trendy but slightly gritty section of a major Miami Beach street is kinda safe, but kinda not. The clientele appears to be mostly men.     BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE PURE DECEPTION Prior to booking my reservation, I called this hotel to see what the time for check in. Paula stated 12pm, she would allow us to check in. However, the website says 4pm. Literally called her back stating your website says 4pm in order to double confirm and she said 12pm is fine, so I went ahead and reserved 2 rooms. When I got to the hotel she stated $10 an hour for an early check-in fee. I reminded her we just spoke and confirmed 12pm. She literally called me a liar and kicked me out of the property stating she would call the police???? Regarding the condition of the rooms, I happened to walk by while housekeeping was working. Beds are beat up + $20 resort fee. I don't see any resemblance to some form of resort. They reel you in with a good room rate then sneak in the resort fee.     Jennifer at check-in and out was terrific, very friendly and helpful. I felt like I was checking into prison or something. The public areas were not sanitized. Everything you touch is tacky/sticky and you feel like you need hand sanitizer constantly. The towels were terrible. No shampoo or conditioner just waxy tiny bar of soap. The bed was clean. No bugs. But not firm and very bouncy. One pillow per person and very small and thin. But clean. The area is okay daytime great markets and stores right there but shady at night. Shady clients at hotel. Not walkable to any beach. No public toilet by pool or on the property at all. Smell Of weed everywhere. Window check in no lobby.

    Would not recommend this place at all!! The place was nothing as described in reviews. Our first room had a terrible leak with the mini fridge and smelled moldy. We were given a second room that had an adjacent door to the next room, and you can clearly hear all the noise from the opposite side of the door. That room was not any better than the first room. The attendant that helped us check in was not nice and not very helpful. The place is basically for those with extended stays and not for those visiting or vacationing. You are asked to leave a cash deposit and even though that deposit will be returned to you when you check out, this place is not worth to stay.

    The hotel overall was good. Its a basic 3 star hotel. We got a great rate for the holiday weekend. The room was clean. Bed was firmer than I usually like, but I slept well. Towels are skimpy, but its a basic hotel. It was cheap uber to beach and there was a family dollar across the street. The main problem was the check in. I arrived in the rain wearing two knee braces in a lot of pain at 320. You have to speak through a small slot in the window like youre visiting someone in prison and its difficult to hear. The girl told me I couldnt check in until 4 and there was nowhere to keep my luggage. I limped across the street and sat in a restaurant until check in. I originally booked one night but decided to stay an additional night. When I initially called to try to book direct, I was told I couldnt so I booked second night through expedia. They initially couldn't find my second reservation but eventually found it. I was told we would have to check out at 11 next morning spend all day wandering with my luggage and check in again at 4. I'e traveled all over the world including third world countries and never had this situation before. Eventually the guy who was at the desk called the owner and we were allowed to stay since we said we didnt need room cleaned and we booked same type of room. We had difficulty finding the room, but eventually it all worked out. They keep $50 cash deposit which some places do, but do not lose the slip of paper slip they give you or you are out of luck

    I love this motel. It’s not real modern, but it’s taken care of very well. The rooms are clean. I booked this motel every time I go to Hollywood. I feel like they monitor the type of people that stay there. I always feel safe when I’m there. The grounds are beautiful. I highly recommend Richards.

    I stayed five nights in Richard Hotel. At check in the woman demanded 50 dollar cash only deposit, which I had not expected. I was told to get the money from the atm in the office, which was off limits to me at first. Then I was given a list of things I was not allowed to do like I’m a common criminal, very demeaning attitude towards a guest. It was an overall horrible feeling at check in. This woman either hates her job or is the rudest person I’ve ever come across in my 56 years on earth. My room was on the second floor, very plain, well used furniture nothing matched. No luggage rack or hair dryer. I went down to the office to get a hair dryer and was told to walk down the street to the other property to get one. I went there and the guy was super nice. So here I am walking down the highway carrying a hair dryer. This was utterly ridiculous to not have a hair dryer available and then to make me walk a block to get it! No room service for my 5 night stay. I used the same two scratchy paper thin towels and one washcloth all week. I was warned at check in not to overflow my trash cans also. I guess if you’re from a third world country this place would be great. If not you will be very disappointed here.

    I was very disappointed on arrival. No one to greet guest had to go and look for person at the next building. There was no lobby one cubby hole where they operate from have to stand outside and speak though a window. The room was small could not move around with the wheelchair to get in the bathroom. Worst experience ever. Unable to sleep heard every check ..in the rooms were not sound proof. Would not recommend ever. Ask for clean sheets from the Tuesday checked out on Saturday still no sheets. Insects were crawling. Appears to be a low class motel design for a few hours of pleasure and go. We had to buy towels. The best thing was able to park right in front of the door.

    This was a low-budget experience. I found it on Hotels.com listed among some of the higher priced hotels. In fact, there are quite a few motels along Hwy 1 in Ft Lauderdale. This one is probably not unique. Amenities were sparse-TV, Micro, mini-fridge, towels. Terrible pillows. Bathrm floor was dirty. Water on the floor when I checked in. This also doubles as a weekly/monthly residence during the off season. It clearly sees a lot of wear. Pool was nice. Lots of parking avail. Close to lots of restaurants, and easy to get around with the location on Hwy 1.

    Overall enjoyed the stay. Downtown area was a short walk away, but this was in a pocket that had a lot of Russian, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Cuban, and French people and businesses around, and I loved that. Especially for cultural food options. Beaches are a short drive. The building seemed dated and the AC was iffy, but it was quaint and felt like some places I've stayed in Europe. Staff was pretty hands-off. One major complaint is that my room was next to an exterior door and the first couple nights there were people loudly slamming this door NONSTOP til morning. Literally coming and going ALL night.

    Too many rules all of which are hidden in your app. It's says on your app includes all taxes and fees although when I arrived there was a cash only deposit required. And I'm still waiting on a refund because I couldn't stay. It was an absolutely horrible experience. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone.

    The ac didn't work. The shower barely got you wet but the shower floor was so slimy that I got out immediately and rubbed my feet onthe towel to get the slime off and towel turned dark gray from the filthy floor. Topping it off the toilet wouldn't flush,at all.This place needs a health inspection!!!Hotels. Com should investigate and take it off it's site.

    Place was okay. The lady at the front desk was rude and unhelpful. And I've never heard of a place that takes a cash deposit only. Not sure what the big guy behind the desk was doing but he was rude also. Would not recommend this place unless your desperate.

    Cash deposit requirement, placed in an envelope with paper receipt required to get deposit back at check out was very “old school”, like before computers. Also separate old bronze motel keys for room door and gate to get to the room was effective, but definitely not modern.

    When I arrived I was told that I was not allowed to leave my room after 10pm or come back in after 10pm. I was also told I am not allowed to make noise after a certain hour, I was not allowed to come back smelling like cigarettes or I would not be allowed to stay in the property. The staff were very rude and I will never stay here again.

    Front desk guy was a liar and extremely unfriendly. He was basically a huge jerk. He was supposed to authorize on hotels.com that it was okay for me to cancel my stay because of me not knowing my bf had to show a license too just to stay in the room with me, he just lost his I'd the day before but had other identification just nothing that had a picture on it. He has his id now, but this guy at the front desk refused to work with me and he STATED that he was "ok with letting me cancel the stay" and he would let "hotels.com" know that so I could get my money back, but he did NOT. He was a total jerk and they got $100 of mine and provided me NOTHING in return for it. I advise everyone to be CAUTIOUS. They essentially stole my money!!!!!
